How one piece DILF react to Y/N having a panic attack

the dilfs in question: Marco(he totally counts as a dilf)  Katakuri(he also counts)  Shanks(the only one I don't have to justify)

Base Story

You have always been prone to panic attacks. Not that it was an everyday thing. Some days you have nerves of steel. You don't even flinch at the sound of cannons or when a crew member touches you out of the blue. On bad days you start to spiral just from the drop of a cup or the sound of someone stomping down the hall. Today was a bad day. 

You do your absolute best to go with the flow of the day as well as do your duties. But it all became too much. Your hands had been shacky all day but you could tell it was getting worse. You started fumbling more and more. You knew that you couldn't fend off the looming brake down so you set down what you were doing. You knew you needed to make it back to your room before it got worse. You were a pirate so having a panic attack out in the open was a no-go.

You began to pick your way through the ship. You flicked your inner wrist as you walked(at least you hoped you were walking and not running) to your room. The gentle pain kept you grounded, it helped you block out the panic just a bit longer.

As you rushed you didn't spot one of your crew members. You clipped them with your shoulder in your hurry. You didn't have the time to see who it was, you were also pretty sure your mask would completely shatter if you as much as made eye contact with someone. “so Sorry!” you called out to whoever it was. You hoped your voice didn't give away how close to breaking you were.

Once you finally made it to your room and the door was shut behind you, your mask shattered. You let your body hit the floor as you sobbed. Everything was just too much you curled up into a ball and tried to get your breathing under control.

Marco froze seeing y/n rushing down the hall. He was about to ask if she was alright when she ran into him. The glance he got at her eyes told him she was not ok. Her normally calm (e/c) were frantic and glacie. What the hell had happened?

“so sorry!” she squeaked, her voice was just as frantic as her eyes. Now he was sure she was not ok. 

Marco stood still debating on whether hed follow her and find out what was wrong, or trace back her steps and see who’s ass he had to kick. (y/n) was a sweet and calm women who he certainly had a soft spot fore. Not that he would admit it. If he was perticuly drunk it took all his will power not to go tell the girl just how much of his mind she took up. Some times he wondered what had dragged such a good girl into a life of piracy.

Marco turnd and rushed to fallow her. The ass kicking could wait, first (Y/n) needed to be calmed down. He lost site of her but figured she was probably headed to her room so rushed that way.

Marco stood at (Y/n)’s door he knocked on the door gently, he didnt want to upset her more.

“Whats up?” (y/n)’s voice was almost convincing, but marco could here the slight quiver.

“(y/n) can i come in? I saw you rushing down here and i just want to check in on you?” marco spoke in a gentle and cleary voice. He knew barging in to her room would only make her situation worse.

“I…” she cut herself off with ragged panicked breaths, it took her a while to regain her composure, “Ok… I'm sorry.” 

Marco gently opened the door, his heart broke seeing the poor girl in such a panicked state. She was sitting on the floor with her back pressed to her bed, she had puffy and red eyes, clearly shed been crying. Marco stepped in closing the door shut behind him. He walked up the mess of a (h/c) and sat down in front of her, “Do you want to tell me what's wrong, or do you just want a shoulder to cry on?” Marco’s voice was soft and soothing, he wanted to pull her into his lap and just hold her til she calmed down but he wasn't sure if that would help her or not.

“Bad,” her breathing was so frantic that she couldn't even properly form sentences, “Bad, I'm just not having a go-od day.” she was trying so hard to cover up just how bad of a state she was in. she was not doing a good job at it.

Marco looked into her eyes before scooping the girl up in his arms. He knew she needed something to ground her, looking at her right now he could tell she was in the middle of a panic attack. He stood up and sat the two of them down on her bed, “Ok hun, I've got you.” he whispered holding her in a firm but gentle grasp, running a hand up and down her back, “you don’t have to force your self to talk, let's just focus on getting your breathing to a normal pace.”

Marco was relieved when she wrapped her arms around him and buried her face in his chest. She nodded her head and then let out another wave of sobs. She was shaking in his arms and clung to him for dear life.

Minutes passed of the two of them just sitting. Marco could hear her softly mumbling, “In 1,2,3, out 1,2,3” her breathing started to mimic her counting. Slowly (y/n) relaxed, she almost seemed to melt. Marco waited for her to talk, he knew if he waited she would eventually give him a better explanation for this panic attack. 

“Thank you,” (y/n) softly spoke leaning back, “I'm sorry if I scared you.” she crossed her arms and looked anywhere but at Marco.

Marco sighed, she was apologizing. He turned her head to look at him and gazed into her watery pools of (e/c). Why did she feel the need to apologize to him? He pressed his forehead to hers, “you don't need to thank me for this. I'm a commander it's part of my job to make sure my crew is ok.” he paused for a moment before adding, “Especially if it's you.” his voice barely audible.

“What does that mean?” (y/n)’s looked to Marco confused. Her eyes were still puffy and red.

“It means that,” Marco chuckled, “if you ever need help, or are feeling like this, then don't hesitate to come find me.” Marco wanted to place a kiss on her forehead but wasn't sure if that would push the situation over a breaking point, one where he couldn't leave this room still just being her friend, “so think you can tell me what happened?” he redacted his mind to the ass-kicking he was sure he'd be handing out soon.

(y/n) flushed, Marco wasn't sure if it was from his words or if she was embarrassed about why she had gotten so upset, “ I'm Prone to panic attacks,” she moved to get up and off of Marcos's lap, “Usually I can keep it together till I get to my room but today wasn't a good day.” as the girl made it to her feet she looked back at Marco with a sheepish smile, “It's ok really.”

“No, it's not.” Marco stood up and pulled (y/n) back into his arms, “Why didn't you tell me sooner I could have helped.” 

“It's fine,” (y/n) did not fight the hug, she mumbled into his chest, “I'm fine,” Marco couldn't tell if she was saying it to herself or him.

“No, it's not.” Marco said more firmly, “I'm here for you, (y/n) you don’t have to suffer alone anymore, please let me help you when things like this happen,” Marco pulled back and kissed her forehead, “please,” he whispered. 

“Ok,” Marco almost didn't hear her soft response. He certainly did silently feel her relax into him.

🍬 Katakuri 🍬

Katakuri was surprised to feel someone run into him. He was almost impossible to miss seeing as he is almost 17 feet tall, and he has such a menacing ora. Who in their right mind would run into him? He glanced over to this person who was either blind, dumb, or looking for a fight only to hear a panicked, “So, sorry.” and catch a glance of (y/n) rushing off.

Katakuri was surprised when it was (y/n) of all people who had shoulder checked his calf. (y/n) was a well-mannered woman. He didn't know the girl well however he had quite some respect for her. The woman had never once looked at him with fear in her eyes before and was fairly close friends with Brulee. He sighed and guessed he might as well go see what is wrong with his sister's friend.

He used his observation haki to see where she had run to. He was taken aback by the image he saw. The polite but confident woman had tucked herself away in a closet and was sobbing her eyes out. Usually, he avoided using his haki to feel what others were feeling but the sheer amount of panic she was radiating was overwhelming, his haki picked it up without him even trying.  It took him more effort than he wanted to admit to stop his heart from racing.

Katakuri rushed tword the closet (y/n) had locked herself in. he may not know her well but the way Brulee talked about her made him certain that he couldn't just let her be. He stood in front of the closet hearing the muffled sounds of the women. Yet again his haki took over and he could feel her panic, he wanted to rush in and comfort her if just to stop the panic that was flowing off of her in waves.

Katakuri wasn’t thinking clearly, the woman's panic had fogged his mind. Katakuri opened the closet and crouched down to be less imposing to the frantic girl. He was hit with a potent wave of panic stronger than before. He had messed up, she was now in a worse state, “Sorry,” he tried to be soothing, “I wanted to see if you were ok.”

“Oh,” the girl squeaked, “I'm sorry.” she looked rather pathetic as she tried to give him a smile, “just need some time to-to, um,” her breathing went ragged and interrupted the excuse she was about to give him. She scrunched her eyes closed and it seemed as if she was just trying to get her breathing under control.

Katakuri watched the girl for a moment before pulling her into his lap and hugging her to his chest. She was so small in his hands, it almost felt like he was soothing a child. He gently rubbed her back. At first, the girl was stiff and her panic increased but slowly she relaxed and gave into the hug.

Katakuri hated to admit it to himself but he enjoyed the feeling of holding the woman. He liked the way she clung to him. He liked the warmth of her skin on his. More than all that he liked the fact that she was just so vonrubole at the moment. 

After a long time of (y/n) calmly barring her face in his chest katakuri spoke, “What happened?” his thumb never stopped rubbing her back.

The woman sheepishly looked up at him, “it was just a panic attack,” she bit her bottom lip before continuing, “Nothing you have to worry about sweet commander sir.”

Katakuri darkly chuckled, “I put together it was a panic attack,” he glared down at the women in his arms, “but what caused it?”

She fidgeted with her sleeve cuffs be for she spoke again, her eyes looked only at her hands, “I'm prone to panic attacks, sometimes the noise of life just gets to be too much and I just,” she closed her eyes, cheeks red, and took a deep breath, “I just lose it. I'm sorry sir.”

Katakuri was not expecting that “so you deal with this regularly?” he did his best to sound neutral. The more of this venerable side he saw the more he wanted to protect her, it was like finding a shivering kitten on the side of the road, she was just adorable.

“Yes.” she gave him a reassuring smile, “but I'm used to it and usually i just step out and have my little brake down and get on with the day.”

She was trying to downplay how awful this was for her, Katakuri was sure of it. The man had been overwhelmed by just the taste of her panic and she dealt with this regularly. What kinda woman was she really? The woman he had known up to this point was well put together, polite-no she was kind, well spoken and confident. Was that persona just a mask? 

“Your good friends with Brulee right?” Katakuri asked.

The girl only nodded.

“That makes you a friend of mine too,” Katakuri brushed her hair out of her eyes, “so you dont have to hide this from me.”

The girl looked up to him confused. She opened her mouth to say something but Katakuri cut her off, “When your not ok and i'm here tell me. Have you talked to Brulee about this? She’s the kinda woman that wouldn't mind helping you.”

“She knows,” the woman’s voice was soft not much louder than a whisper, “but it's not her responsibility to babysit me, and it's not yours.”

Katakuri picked the woman up and brought her to his eye level. “As a member of the big mom pirates that makes you a member of the family, it's our job to take care of each other since we are family.” he glared into her eyes just daring her to try to disagree.

“Yes sir,” she whimpered.

Katakuri set her down before standing up and saying, “you don't have to call me sir, we're friends so call me Katakuri.”

“Thank you Katakuri,” (y/n) gave the man a genuine smile.

Katakuri chuckled, “Don't mention it (y/n).”

🍺Shanks🍺

The moment shanks heard her squeaked apology he knew what was happening, she was in a full-swing panic attack. (y/n) had been on the crew a year now and he had seen her fall apart like this more than a handful of times. He was surprised that she didn't come straight to him, but then again that was how she was. She didn't like the thought of as she would put it, “troubling him over nothing,” shanks shook his head and sighed looked like his true love(his booze) would have to wait.

Shanks considered heading straight after the panic pron woman but figured she would calm down more quickly with something to munch on so he headed to the kitchen instead. It always left him reeling that just some noise could do this to her. He'd seen her fight men 4 times her size like it was nothing. The woman tamed wild beasts without an ounce of fear or conquerors haki. Hell, he’d seen her smile welling holding a giant growling dog in her lap, all well calling it just a little angry baby. did he mention the fact that the dog was the size of a dam lion and gave the rest of his crew a bit of a lashing(he still doesn't get how she didn't get bit for that one). (y/n) was a terrifyingly capable woman.

Shanks walked into the kitchen with a shigh.

“Run out of booze already captain?” lucky roux asked.

“Danm I wish that's why I was in here,” shanks gave his cook a serious look, “(y/n) having a panic attack can you fix me up a sandwich for her? Or maby something chocolate?”

Lucky roux quirked a brow before shaking his head, “I’ll make her a quick sandwich, don't think she got breakfast.” he hummed as he began to make the red-haired pirates’ little panic-prone girly a sandwich. Watching Lucky Roux make anything was interesting(even just a simple sandwich). The cook moved with such precise speed, his hands a blur as he worked. Shanks had tried to work at the same speed as lucky roux and he always ended up with a messy pile of ingredients that only looked like a sandwich if you squinted really hard at it. By the time lucky roux was done talking the sandwich was ready, “ take good care of our little beast tamer.” The chef said as he handed the sandwich to his captain, concern in his voice.

“Gosh you make it sound like I wouldn’t,” shanks smirked and snatched the sandwich, “I'm not some heartless monster.” 

Lucky Roux rolled his eyes, “I'm sure you’re not heartless, but you're certainly a monster captain.”

Shanks stuck his tongue out at his cook as he stepped out of the kitchen and headed towards (y/n)’s room. He closed his eyes a moment and huffed. He would never tell (y/n) this but seeing her like this always made him feel helpless. He could beat almost anyone in a fight but he could do almost nothing to stop her from having these panic attacks. He hated to see her suffer and not be able to do much about it. He honestly wished he could just take all her panic on himself.

Shanks stood in front of (y/n)’s door. He listened for a moment to see if he could hear her, he was relieved to find he couldn't. He hoped that for her sake the worst had passed. He used the back of his hand to gently knock on her door, “Hay they're beautiful, I brought you a sandwich and wanted to see how you're doing. Can I come in?”

“Yeah.” a lightly hoarse voice called through the door, “you can comb in.” her sentence was punctuated with a small sniffle.

Shanks slowly opened the door. He spotted the girl he was looking for sitting on her bed. She was wrapped up in her big fluffy comforter, the only thing poking out from the blanket's cover was her face. Her eyes were red and her flushed cheeks had little glossy trails where tears had been flowing. His heart caught in his chest, sure he'd seen her like this quite a few times but it always hit him hard. Sure she was a capable woman, and he knew she could take care of herself, but dam it she was cute and cuddly and he wanted nothing more than to protect her.

“Sorry, it was a bad day.” (y/n) pulled the blanket over her face, only making it harder not to find the woman adorable, “I just needed to get some quiet time.”

Shanks sat down at the foot of her bed holding out the sandwich for her, “How many times do I have to tell you that you don't have to be sorry about this.”

She peeked out from her blanket before reaching out a shaky hand to grab the sandwich, “thank you,” she said as she looked up at him through her lashes. She nibbled at the sandwich.

Shanks watched her for a moment before opening his arm so she could get a hug if she wanted. He smiled softly at her and waited.

The woman crawled out of her blanket and hugged him, she buried her face in his chest. She abandoned her half-eaten sandwich on her pillow, she'd deal with the crumbs when she felt better.

Shanks ran his hand up and down her back just taking in the moment. He always liked when the beast tamer was cuddly like this. She was not a very touchy person and didn't like the feeling of being touched out of the blue but, once in a while, she would just let him hold her. Shanks knew the woman loved to be held. If it was on her terms then she adored the feeling of being in someone's arms. Shanks could tell by the way she seemed to just melt when she hugged him or any other member of the crew.

“Your too nice to me captain,” (y/n) hummed into Shanks’ chest, “thank you for putting up with my bull shit.”

Shanks rolled his eyes, “well the deal is I always come to your rescue, and you're the designated driver.” he gave her a gentle squeeze, “I think it's a fair trade.”

(y/n) looked up at her captain and giggled, “is Beckmen in on this deal?”

“I'm the captain he’s in on it if I say he is.” shanks smirked, before peppering her face with some kisses, “Plus I think he likes you enuff that he wouldn't mind.”

(y/n) began to giggle barring her face back into his chest, “Captin!”

HOTD Ep 2x7 Spoilers and review.

So this was one of my favorite episodes this season and also one of the coolest imo.

Seasmoke being protective of Addam and looking proud he terrorized Addam into being his rider was too funny. I love that dragon 😂. Come through Addam the Loyal, all Rhaenyra had to say was she's queen and he immediately acknowledged her and bent the knee, I loved that. He's really about to become my other favorite boy.

Corlys being shook and acting like he doesn't know Addam, like sir if you don't tell the truth already. He's never gonna beat the deadbeat allegations. Although when he told him “Well done” I did whoop a little. I would've kicked his ass had I been Addam though.

Oscar Tully! That's it. That's the fuckin post. He gagged Daemon and stood on business. I love to see young kids bullying arrogant adults, he reminded me of the OG lil boss Lyanna Mormont. That's my lil nephew now.

Daemon didn't take the crown. We saw him hallucinating again, this time with the sick version of Viserys and Viserys holding the crown which he didn't take. I mean anybody with a brain could summarize that he never wanted the crown, we didn't need to spend so much time in his delusions in Harrenhal to tell us that. We certainly didn't need a scene of him feasting on his mom to tell us that, yuck. For all his faults he really was about his family. He went about it the wrong way but that's Daemon for you. His stupid self destructive ass.

We had an unnecessary scene of Alicent running about the woods after leaving King's Landing. Chile anyways. Larys is totally protecting Aegon now and he's essentially crippled atp. I fear for Baela's storyline.

Rhaena is looking for Sheepstealer. Her and Jeyne are still tussling but they waited until the final 2 episodes to give her something, Baela had no lines besides looking pretty and staring at Jace. I fuckin hate it here. Could we bully HBO AND THE WRITERS SOME MORE. WTF!!

Vermithor and SilverWing looked so cool. What did that old bum feed Vermithor though? He's big asf. SilverWing just might be the coolest looking dragon. I can't rank them anymore cause I like them all 😭. Literally my favorite thing about the episode. Like the directors cooked. The dragons are funny asf 😂😭😭😭. There were a lot of parentage reveals, I don't believe for a second Saera sired that ugly man but anyways. RhaeRhae led those people to their deaths. Rhaenyra deadass gave this big ass pep talk, she reminded me of Erwin before he led the scouts out on what would be their suicide mission except she didn't stay to see the outcome or participate in it. Vermithor saw an opportunity for a buffet and took it, Hugh claimed him. Fuckin cinema. Still gonna hate his bitchass but I can't lie that was badass. SilverWing was bullying Ulf. Why do people I hate always win sometimes?! Ulf literally failed upwards. Can't be mad at it. I mean if I was a dragon I would've done the same shit. How dare mediocre specimens come before me who is essentially the next best thing after the Gods!

We got Rhaenyra speaking High Valyrian. She had her dragon squad quit on her though and gave her a warning (foreshadowing). Her also being able to calm Vermithor, that's the Dragon Queen of her era y'all. We saw a little movement with her and her protective spoiled cat Syrax too 😍.

Not people hating on Jace now. Listen that argument has been brewing since season 1. He just finally let it out of his brooding body. I don't think many people understand the implications that argument meant. He sounded classist and maybe he was, highly doubt he is but he's being realistic and in the future he was proven right (unless they scrap the book canon). Rhaenyra paralleled Viserys in that entire scene. She really is her father's child in some ways. She did to Jace what Viserys essentially did to her. The one thing that could've upheld his ascension to the throne was him having a dragon and she essentially gave a free pass to anybody to do the same, the same thing was done to Rhaenyra when Viserys decided to marry Alicent and sire more children when he knew damn well that if he had a son, her claim to the throne would've been compromised. Jace knows he's a “bastard”, a legitimate one but a “bastard” ntl (I'm not calling him a bastard in a derogatory sense either, he isn't. Laenor claimed them as his sons and that's the end of it to me) , it shouldn't matter considering the throne is not passing from his father's side but his mother's. Sure his last name would've changed the minute he was named heir and ascended as stated by Viserys but what weight does that hold now? They briefly touched on it when he spoke to Baela about his fathers but he had always been insecure about his parentage. No he didn't call his mother a whore, he's been fighting that battle all his life, she just made it worse. In the dire situation they're in, the sacrifice had to be made but I could understand why he's angry and hurt over it again. She literally just made him illegitimate in the eyes of the realm. His anger is valid. Was his tone harsh yes, try dealing with the whispers and the jeers and everything else for the past 16 years of your entire life and seeing the same proof of what everybody else sees everyday and tell me that you wouldn't hold some kind of resentment towards it. I liked how Rhaenyra was patient with him though, just wished it wasn't as rushed as the scene felt.

The last shot of the episode was fuckin brilliant. Aemond turning his bitchass around knowing he can't handle that kinda pressure. Also Vhagar and Aemond's bond may not be as strong as it should be. She clearly does not listen to him sometimes. He's still responsible for Lucerys death IDC what y'all got to say. The episode got a 4/5 stars from me just for the dragons. I'm here for Jace, Baela, Addam and the Dragons!

Fixing your jacket over your ensemble for the day, you quickly head down the stairs and into the kitchen for a bite or two of some PB&J toast. And as you sipped on some scorching hot tea, you couldn’t help but rethink the past events that occurred the past few weeks. 

For one, Yeonjun was true to his words, thankfully. He didn’t show up the whole weekend, and judging by an exchange of messages you and Soobin had, he and the other guys went on a hiking trip to Jeju, as well as some weekend fun by the beach. 

Your mom was nowhere to be found as expected, as it was Fashion Week in Italy, and so she would definitely be gone for a while. 

You wondered what kind of peculiar events awaited you that day as you sauntered out towards the circular driveway of the house, waiting for the driver and your usual ride to park up in front of you and finally take you to school. 

You were busy catching up on all the notifications from your phone and refreshing your instagram feed on your phone when the sound of a boisterous, revving engine sound caused you to look up. 

It was a black Bugatti - the limited edition kind. 

And you knew instantly who it belonged to. 

Stepping back a few paces as the car made a smooth turn around the driveway, you were greeted by Yeonjun’s cheeky face as soon as he rolled down the passenger seat window. 

“Your ride today, ma’am.” He said, lips quirking into a provoking smile.

You stood there dumbfounded as per usual, mouth forming a small ‘o’ shape. It took you at least ten seconds more before you were able to string words together,  “Wha- But- The driver..” 

“Told him he could take the day off. I’ll be your chauffeur today, princess. Now hop in or you’ll be late for class and we know you don't like being late.” 

And you hate it knowing he’s right. 

You hurriedly slip in the passenger seat and strap yourself in, huffing out a breath of air and looking back up at him, trying to keep a stern face through it all. “Fine. Drive away, Choi.”  

The car ride was quiet at first, but you and your big mouth just couldn’t stand the awkward silence. “So, how was Jeju?” 

“How did you- Oh-” Yeonjun said, pausing a while. “Soobin told you?” 

You nod once, “Did you have fun?” 

“I guess so.. It’s always a fun time with the guys, plus Kai is back so it was cool.” 

“Really? Mister Hyuka himself?” My eyes widened at the mere mention of the name, “He’s back from Switzerland? Waaah.. That’s awesome. I have to say hi later on today then.” You rambled on, hellbent on filling the awkward silence. 

Hyuka was the son of the Vice Prime Minister of Korea, which entailed that he was to get the best education there is as he planned to follow in his father’s footsteps and pursue politics in the future as well. 

“Yeah, he’s about to move schools so he’s just finishing up his courses in MOA U before going to Law school overseas.” Yeonjun added, one hand on the steering wheel while the other rests on his thigh, sneaking glances at you every now and then.

After about a minute or two, the car entered through the gates of your University. You usually get dropped off in a parking lot and you hang around there before your classes start, chit-chatting with your friends.

As soon as the Bugatti pulled up towards the space, you could see both Yeonjun's friends and yours huddled around another luxury car. 

“Oh, he must be here today too.” You said ecstaticly, it was obvious that his homecoming called for a reunion of sorts. 

All of your friends’ attention though shifted over to Yeonjun’s noisy and flashy car. As mentioned before, it was a limited edition, only about ten are made every year, so it's normal for people to do a double-take whenever it passes.

It not only had a cool-looking exterior but it was also built for those drag racing types. 

You could hear their surprised gasps and see how astonished they were as you got out of the car. 

“Hey guys,” You greeted everyone with an awkward smile, not really sure what to say, you just worked on walking up to the youngest male in the group and welcoming him back with one of your tightest hugs. “Hyuka, good to see you~” 

The handsome guy ruffled your hair as soon as you both pulled away from the contact, “Great to be back y/n, even if it's just for a while. You’re looking as wonderful as ever. Oh- But- Why did you come with Jjunie hyung?” He asked a question that was probably on everyone’s minds. 

“We live together now.” Yeonjun did the talking, his tone almost announcing and his voice loud enough for the whole school to hear, saying it like it was just some random occurrence (which made you scoff, to be honest). 

“WHAT?!” The group collectively replied, some in a surprised tone, others amused. 

“Tsk...” You let out a frustrated expression, “His dad, my mom, remember?” You tried to give the simplest explanation, pointing to him and you alternately. “I don’t know, they’re renovating their place or something so my crazy mom decided to invite them to stay over.” 

“But babe-” Chaewon interjected, glancing behind my shoulder where Yeonjun stood, almost as if you were transparent. “I thought you were going to let me ride your new Bugatti first.” 

“Ah sorry, Chae.” He replied in a half-assed pleading tone as if knowing he’d get away with it no matter what he said. “It’s just- the driver decided to take a day off and y/n's mom asked me if I could bring her to school.” He tried to explain. 

This prompted you to look at him with a confused expression, I thought he asked the driver to take the day off? So it was my mom who wanted us to drive together to school the whole time? He could have just said that. What’s the truth? 

Before you were able to process things any further, the school bell rang loud - causing the group to go your separate ways and head to first-period courses.

When that little dweeb Yeonjun suggested we’d have a house party in “his” house for Hyuka's return (literally he called it his home and it was annoying, to say the least), you couldn’t say no.

And so, after school that day and with everyone finishing their classes, you found yourself entertaining the whole group at the estate. 

“Nice place y/n..” Hyuka told me as he walked further into the huge receiving room. 

“Why thank you!” You said, cheekbones raising. “My mom’s big on interior decorating. And- yah- you two!” Something from your periphery caught your eye, as you see Beomgyu and Taehyun fighting for the remote control of the sound system, amid a wrestling match on the couch.

“If you break anything, you’re buying it.” You joked around. 

After an hour, everyone was engaged in their own thing. The boys were fooling around out back in the pool area, and the girls were huddled around your mother’s workshop in her office- looking at her different mood boards and potential designs for her new line. 

But for one reason or another, you couldn’t find Yeonjun. He wasn’t in his room, and you know this because you checked a few times. 

There was one room that was quite hidden in the estate, and you then wondered if he had managed to discover it. 

You trekked over to the music hall on the far side of the second floor of the house. And as you were nearing it, you could hear the soothing melody of the piano resonating in your ears.

The sound grew louder as you neared it, and as you opened the door to the music room, there he was, in front of the piano. 

His eyes were closed as Yeonjun seemed immersed in the music he was playing. 

And at that moment you saw something different in him. It wasn’t his manly side, nor his childish one- no. 

It was something entirely different. There was a vulnerability to this. 

That alone drew you in, you took light steps across the room and towards the grand piano as if hypnotized by his music. 

It’s been a while, but you knew the piece he was playing.

And so, picking up the violin from the stand at the other side of the room as quietly as you could, you started to play alongside him. His playing halted for a few moments as soon as he heard the sound of the violin weaving into the pianos, he then turned to check where the sound was coming from. 

You flashed a small smile as your gazes met, nodding towards him and urging him to continue. 

And that he did, and for a moment or two you were actually getting along well- all thanks to the music you were creating. 

As with all good things though, the song came to an end. And you readily put the violin down atop the piano. 

“I didn’t know you could play that well, y/n.” He said with a grin. 

You took your seat beside him in front of the piano, laughing a little. “Yeah well, mom made sure I was well-versed in a lot of instruments. But hey- I didn’t know the bad boy of MOA U knew how to play, too.”

“There’s a lot you don’t know about me, it seems.” He replied, nudging me with his elbow. 

“You’re right.” You agreed without hesitation, “I don’t think I can ever read you. I’m usually good at that, you know? I’m a very observant person.. But, with you, ah- You are a puzzle, Choi Yeonjun.” 

“Would you... like to solve me?” Yeonjun asked in a teasing manner. But even though that was the case, you honestly couldn’t tell if he was joking or not.

But as you looked into his clear eyes, you could see that defenseless side that you saw a few moments ago once more. And you hated how it made your heartbeat pick up in pace.

“I think I would actually, only if you let me.” You said, not knowing if it was the three flutes of wine before you stumbled into the music room doing the talking at that point. 

“I-” He seemed taken aback by your answer because you’ve never heard him stutter like that, but he managed to break out into a grin nonetheless. “I’d like that..” 

Suddenly, there was an air of tension between you two.

It was so thick, almost to the point where no one could break it. You had so many thoughts running in your head so suddenly. 

Has this kid’s charms actually gone through me? 

Am I developing some sort of weird… crush? 

But our parents, and Chaewon… 

Unbeknownst to you until that point though, your heads were merely inches away from each other- with his face oh so dangerously close to yours.

And there you were able to marvel at how damn attractive Yeonjun really was. 

You had a sudden yearning- something you've never felt before around him. You wanted to feel how his cheeks felt against your palms and imagined how soft his lips would feel against your own.

You couldn’t take it anymore, it was either you lean in or back out.

There were only two choices. 

But you chose the latter. 

Clearing your throat, you stood up from your seat and slowly paced back. “We.. We should probably head back. It’s Hyuka’s party, we shouldn’t miss it.” You said, and before he was able to decide for himself, you found yourself darting out of the music room like the coward that you were.

Was it a smart decision to do what you just did? Perhaps.

But was it something you regretted? The short answer would be yes as well. 

"Looks like you're having it rough, y/n.. More so than usual." Giselle pointed out as you sat across her from the table of the cafe that the following morning. 

You let out a sigh, "You're right about that. I'm having a really weird experience right now." 

Giselle was someone you met in High School. At the time, your mom decided not to enroll you in any prestigious arts High School of any sort, but wanted you to be as normal as possible and live out the most normal life I could. 

And so with that thought in mind, you studied in a private all-girls school. It was lowkey, and you were sheltered for a good bit of time. This also explains why you met everyone in the circle you have now so late.

All of them: from Soobin to Yeonjun, and even Chaewon and the other girls, have known each other since they were all kids. 

Giselle was one of the few friends you made there though back in your younger years, and though she wasn't on the same societal circle as you, you two got along really well and became best friends who still keep in constant contact with each other. 

There's actually a benefit to her not being in your current circle- because then you get to talk to her about all the problems I'm facing in MOA U. And she can do the same, considering that you don't go to her university.

"So what's up, buttercup? Want to talk about it?” She asked childishly, it was one of the things that endeared you to her. 

You laughed heartily, "Mm.. I don't even know where to start." You let out a sigh. 

"Okay so when you texted me to meet, you said something about your mom? Maybe we can start from there and work your way towards everything else." She suggested while stirring the contents of her teacup, and you obliged without much second thought. 

"Okay so.." You paused to take a sip out of your iced coffee, "Mom's seeing someone now. And if you ask me, they're taking it too fast.. Like, increasingly fast. Borderline crazy almost. She has him and his son living in our house." 

Giselle's eyes widened with shock, "Really!?"

"Yup, and the worst part is.." You paused for a moment or two as if you needed to build up the moment even more. "The guy she’s seeing is... Choi Minjun." 

Your friend's palm slapped over her own mouth as she gasped, "W-what! Choi Minjun? As in the Choi Minjun of the Choi Group of Companies?! Then.. Then that must mean, you're living with.."

"His son, yes." You said with a groan. 

"Oh wow." Your friend grew silent for a while, as if she was trying to process it. "Okay so, how is it? Like living with him and such. I heard he can be handful - at least, based on what I read on social media." 

Sucking in your lower lip and piecing your thoughts together, you then spoke. "I don't know. I was always quite nonchalant about Yeonjun, you know? The minute I saw him the first time and how all the girls were going gaga over him, I knew he was some stuck-up rich kid who only cares about getting girls and flaunting his wealth." Your voice trailed off.

"...But?" Giselle added as if knowing what you were going to say next. 

"But.." You took in a sharp breath, "He is all that, yes. But I can't help but think he's more than what he shows to people. I saw this .. thing in his eyes last night. A kind of vulnerable side to him I wouldn’t have guessed existed, and frankly, it scared me. More than his bad boy image can ever scare me, to be honest.”

"And you're scared you might fall for him in the midst of this.. complicated arrangement, huh?" 

Your eyelids shut tightly as you took another swig from the coffee. 

Though you found yourself nodding not long after. 

"Well, my advice is.. Follow what your heart says. Don't deprive yourself of happiness, y/n.. No one deserves that." She said so casually like you just didn't confess that there is a possibility that you could finally be giving in to the hype around a certain guy who happens to be living with you. 

"I- I guess.. But.. But it's too early to tell. I just want to get this out of my system and I thought you're the last person who will judge me for it." You affirmed. 

It was true, if you told any one of your university friends about this, it'd probably reach either Chaewon or worse, Yeonjun himself and you definitely don't want that happening.

Okay. I’ve had time to process the spoilers for chapter 407: Paranormal Orphan.

Here are my thoughts:

-WTF?! They are twins?! What is it with Japanese mangaka and having unhinged twin relationships?! I’m looking at you, Nightow.

-AFO was born with his Quirk activated. Stealing nutrients from his mother then desperately feeding off of her corpse. Stole her Quirk too and seems to have some sentimental value in it as he still uses it often to this day.

-Low-key, I think there’s a hint here that the genetic change in babies and pre-pubescent kids started as some sort of STD that evolved considering their mom was a prostitute and “contracted” an illness. That’s just me, though.

-The first person he ever had was Yoichi and he held his hand right after birth. Also: JFC THAT’S A BIG BOY

-AFO is a victim of his Quirk like the other villains(Toga, Touya, Tenko). He was born wanting to possess things. I don’t like the whole “he was born evil” narrative. Yeah, he looks like a crazy ass Omen baby, but it makes sense he’d think the way he does.

-AFO is also an unreliable narrator here as this is all from his POV

-He says something to the effect of (we’ll know more once we get the scanlations) how, even though Yoichi can’t give him anything like he wants from everyone else, he’s still “his”.

-So, did he just get up and start walking and taking care of his brother out of sheer will when he was still a baby or did someone pick them up and raise them to the point when AFO wanted something from them and killed them when he didn’t get it?

-Yoichi still believes there is some good in his brother because he held his hand as a baby. 😭 Poor kid

-Poor wittle Yoichi getting kicked because he threw something at AFO. For how they’ve had to live, it makes sense AFO would react that way…in a manner of speaking.

-Yoichi learning to read from comics he finds in rubble/a dump. AFO takes notice and sits next to him. He then likes the part where the author says “One for All, All for One.” He should have had a name prior that he must have given himself as Yoichi has one. Though it would make sense that AFO named Yoichi himself as “first gift” since he was the first thing he ever had.

-AFO being jealous of the Glowing Baby is pretty spot on. All of this seems to hint that AFO and Yoichi were the first to have powers considering how AFO talks about the Glowing Baby and the 50 kids born in India.

-The last page is quite a cliffhanger and it sucks we have to wait 2 weeks for the next part(there’s no way this isn’t a two parter).

-How AFO is thinking about Yoichi leaving him is intensely possessive and reminds me of how Vader choked Padme when he thought she was betraying/leaving him. This also ties into how AFO didn’t know he had killed Yoichi.

-My guess is that AFO lashed out and sliced off Yoichi’s hand in a possessive rage. He was so startled by his own action that it gave the 3rd user time to grab Kudo and Yoichi then speed out of there.

-Is it just me or does anyone else hope AFO kept Yoichi’s hand? Parallel to Tomura having all of his family’s hands. I sure hope he did because I need even more twisted twin obsession.

-It’s most likely Yoichi lived long enough after this(and maybe with his blood) transferred OFA to Kudo. He then died from his blood loss and that’s why AFO didn’t know he had killed him.

-AFO crying over Yoichi’s death maybe the first and only time he’s ever cried. Yoichi did mean something to him, maybe even more than a “thing”, but he didn’t realize it until that one moment. He blames Kudo for his death because of the mental gymnastics he has to go through to convince himself that there’s no way he would have hurt the only person he’s ever actually loved—possessive as it may be. If Kudo hadn’t have taken him from the vault, he wouldn’t have reacted and cut off Yoichi’s hand, and therefore, Yoichi would still be alive.

-If he takes OFA with Yoichi’s soul in it, then Yoichi will be his again and “I totally didn’t kill him. See! He’s still alive!”

-The internet’s hot-takes that AFO is homophobic because he went full possessive Vader over Yoichi is weird. I said it.

-A part of me wants there to be a cliffhanger where we think Bakugo may have defeated AFO. We then get the intense fight between Tomura and Deku. Deku is about to win, however that’s going to happen, but then AFO shows up around the age he was when he kicked Yoichi, and he’s holding Bakugo as a threat, demanding Deku give him his brother back. But that’s just me. Again.

Anyway, I can admit when I’m wrong about a villain’s backstory. It wouldn’t be the first time and I honestly should have expected something like this considering Horikoshi going full on horror during this Final War arc. However, I don’t think AFO being born with his Quirk activated and “wanting to take” necessarily makes him “born evil.” The twins still had to survive on the streets as orphans, anti-meta people believing AFO is a diseased heathen and never wanting to help either of them. So, he took on exactly what they thought of him. It’s actually quite sad when you stop to think about it.

I’m going to be frothing at the mouth for the next two weeks to see how this backstory ends. Since it started with AFO going nuts and thinking Bakugo is Kudo, I’m assuming we’ll get further context of AFO’s thoughts when he’s crying.

• Remember Kahil? You know the vampire who once was user of the datusha/kriss and bc of it's power he kill most of the Vaeternus, moments later he commits suicide trapping the sword with him?

Well lets put more emotional damage and say this was a relative to Nitara, maybe a brother why not

(i rewatched the Nitara intros and her mother also died damn, that's rough buddy)

they had a really strong bond, so Nitara was broken and devastated by his brother's tragic end, and after a long time of grief, this "revelation" as she would say, came to mind. From this time she tries so hard to save her so no Vaeternus could face the fate of death

And you know, "trying" is a strong word, the coven at this point are kinda tired of her all the time visiting them and bringing her failed ideas

The coven are like: "yeah yeah you know why don't you go and try to take over outworld or something" as a joke just to get rid of her.

And she did go to Outworld so..

• Now, her voice... It's not the best, it's so monotone and she doesnt realize it

But now i can't stop thinking about her with a valley girl accent, the way she would say the word "like" repetitively in one sentence is insane

There were times when Havik just rip of his own ears to not hear her, she talks a lot

She likes to do monologues, i feel like it's normal for Vaeternus to have this... Theatrical way of speaking, that goes on and on

Nitara does not know how to lie, if you dig enough she would accidentally say the truth or let out her plans without knowing

• At first the interactions Nitara has with Rain were harsh but later he starts to understand the big problem that the Vaeternus were living in, so maybe these two will be allies in the future??? Please??

Tho at this point she is trying to persue ppl to help her cause, whether it's from the good guys or the bad guys, and not even god itself wants to make a solution to help the Vaeternus yeah she's fucked

With the fictional dead family i create around her it makes a little bit of sense when she's trying to make Smoke a vampire too, Nitara sees herself since the guy also lost his mom and sister

or instead he sees her brother in Smoke, which is kinda creepy and dark but thats how my girl copes <33 /j

• The Vaeternus have a way to go to Earthrealm from centuries ago, this could mean that the vampires have more noledge of human traditions, slangs and even technology than Outworld does

This can also includes Earthrealm pop culture, influencing the way they dress or act, there could be Vaeternus who moved to Earthrealm permanently, hiding in the shadows

Imagine miss girl tries to make chitchat with Havik, Darrius and Sareena making a Earthrealm references and everyone just look at her like "wtf r u talkin about?"

This is chronically online comunicating with normal people

Nitara finds Earthrealm movies about vampires fascinating by the way of how they portrayed her kind, bc sometimes those movies are so wrong and sometimes they are so accurate its scary

She finds the "familiar" character to be very useful, she will have it in mind and maybe find one of those to help her look for food and other plans

• There was a time when the vaeternus didnt need blood to maintain their survival (idk if it was on Liu Kang or Geras intros) and there was were other things they could have feed on, but little by little vampirism began to be part of their nature that it was impossible to change their ways, condemning their own species.

Trying to get back to a normal diet probably would take another millenia

And if they eat or drink something no blood related i imagine them vomiting A LOT and with a horrible stomach pain, not the best moment for a vampire

• Her eyes glow in the dark

Once Nitara tried to sleep upside down bc she saw it in one of those movies, and she find it so comfortable??? It's kinda embarrasing for her but she keeps sleeping on that position from now on

She's a failure, she's a loser, and i think that's beautiful

i am into watching House MD and honestly it's so interesting. my mom was on general hospital and dr. quinn medicine woman, which i'm sure no one knows about and probably one other show i can't remember, but i am into House right now. i like the dynamic, for now, and might get sick of it soon, though, cause i've been watching it a lot lately and might be overindulging. it's whatever. the show is witty and informative. i enjoy seeing the ways that the doctors develop their personalities and i wish there was a bit more drama relating to each of the doctors, but it's mainly about house and his group of doctors. oh shwell. maybe i am more into drama hospital shows than i thought. my youtube shorts feed sure thinks i am (and i keep liking them). i hate algorithms sometimes.

Liveblogging notes on ep 6.

Thank god we get to come out of this trough of angst.

Two notes about the setup from last time. One, why kidnapping vs murder attempt? This is a new tactic. Two, does Kinn know that his family track everywhere he goes?

It is SO weird seeing these characters out in the woods. Aw Big, don't blame yourself, there are more important people around to blame. (Side-eyes in spoiler.)

I'm enjoying the survival lessons and general cuteness and so on, but wow these woods are full of elephants. (Not because of the locale.) And they're gonna kiss it out instead of talking? Oh that is interesting, how Kinn yanks himself back from it. Did we maybe learn something.

Night two. That is, honestly, a long fucking time to be lost anywhere.

Ah, there is talking. Only took two entire days. Kinn again taking point on asking questions. Porsche's dream job is full of freedoms to do as he likes. And cut to Kinn's ring when it's his turn to talk. Nope, no dreams for you. Thank you, Porsche, for not falling for that line of bullshit.

It is not lost on me that in order for them to get past the hideous emotional tangle they got into last episode and communicate honestly, they had to get away from that fucking house. [Note to self, look for fics where the place is just cursed.]

This answers a question that has been on my mind since Khun's introduction, about how old Kinn was when that went down: plenty old enough to know what was going on. Ouch.

OMG so hesitant and shy. I'm intrigued by the music theme running through so many of the characters. This is so sad though?

None of those kids ever had a chance. Khun's too traumatized to function. Kinn only thinks he's better off because he can fake it really well. Even though Kim theoretically has his own life, he's paranoid. (What was their mom like? What happened to her?)

Apology tendered? Kind of weirdly but sincere? I like that we can see Porsche think about it for a couple of seconds before he accepts. Sleepy snuggle? Always with the crane shots for them.

1. What is something in your life that you feel hopeful about right now? Uhhh. Honestly, as much as I’d like to feel that way, it’s hard. I’m having a difficult time seeing past some of the stuff I’m going through and imagining anything changing. I’m scared it’s only going to stay the same. I mean, there’s been significant progress with some stuff, but I’m still bedridden and not where I’d like to be strength-wise, though that has gotten a little better. I’m lacking the motivation and energy that I need to work on things. And the hope. :/

2. What was the last thing you worried about that turned out better than expected? I mean like I said, I really have made significant progress with one of the major things I’d been dealing with for years. For so long I struggled with it and it seemed to only get worse without much chance at all in getting better, but now here we are. Even in the hospital it had actually gotten worse. However, once I had the feeding tube for awhile and was back home where it could be better managed and monitored by my mom, things really started improving. So, I need to remember that when I feel hopeless and down about other things. If something like that situation managed to really turn around, then the other stuff has a chance as well. 

3. Name somewhere you are planning on visiting in the near future? All I’m able to do right now is go to my doctor appointments. I have two in the next couple weeks. 

4. How often do you go grocery shopping and how much food do you usually get in one go? My mom goes twice a month for our big grocery trips and gets a lot. 

5. What is a meal you eat extremely often? Or do your meals & food choices vary a lot? I’ve just been eating the same few foods to be honest. Like, I have Cream of Wheat every morning and Taco Bell for dinner like 5 or 6 times a week. I’ve started having sandwiches most days for lunch. Other foods I throw in the mix sometimes are chicken wings, hot dogs, and pizza. Oh, and of course I eat a lot of Reese’s everyday. :X

6. When was the last time you felt unable or unwilling to speak your mind to someone? I’ve been struggling with something involving a couple family members since last year and I’m afraid to address it to them. I just don’t see that conversation going well. I don’t want to cause any issues or make things weird between us. I don’t want to hurt their feelings. But I am upset with some things that were said and how they went about some things and it’s caused me to be distant and bitter. I don’t want it to be that way, but I can’t seem to just let it go.

7. What was the last thing you changed your mind about?  Hm. I’m blanking at the moment. 

8. Who was the last friend you saw, and what did you do together? I don’t have any friends.

9. Who tends to show up in your dreams? Do you ever wonder if you appear in anyone else's dreams? I always have the most random dreams about the most random people. Like, people I went to elementary school with that weren’t even my friends will show up in my dreams and I’m like wtf??

10. What is something you wish you could say to someone who is no longer in your life, or something you wish they could know? I do miss Ty. He was a special part of my life for a time and he was there during a time I really needed him. It’s like he was put in my life for that time and then he served his purpose cause it’s like he literally just vanished. He stopped contacting me and deleted all his social media so I had no way of getting in touch. But the time we had together truly was a special time and I just miss him. I even thought at one point he was going to be “the one.” Anyway, I guess I’d just want to tell him what he meant to me and how much of an impact he had on me. I wish we could be in each other’s lives again. 

11. Instead of flat earth, what do you think of the simulated earth theory, that we're basically all just a giant computer program or virtual reality? No, we’re not Sims. 

12. What worries you most about your future? Like I always say, I’m scared I’ll never get better or get worse and that I won’t do anything with my life. I feel like I’m grandpa Joe from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory right now and I don’t want to spend my whole life this way.

13. What is something you do to feel better when you're scared? I mean, it depends what I’m scared about. I guess I typically talk about it with my mom and get comfort and reassurance from her and just try to distract myself with something like ASMR or a show.

14. Who do you feel you can count on the most in life? Is there anyone you wish you could count on more? I know I can always count on my mom. She is why I’m still here and keep going. 

15. What makes you trust someone? When was the last time someone broke your trust? If I feel comfortable talking to and sharing things with someone is a good indicator. I’d have to get to know them of course and establish a friendship. That takes a little time. And obviously if they don’t give me a reason to feel like I can’t trust them. I’ve met people who clearly like to gossip and I questioned whether I could trust them or not. I kind of just get a feeling, ya know? As for the last time someone broke my trust, it was last year with a couple of people. They did some things that made me feel uncomfortable sharing things with them.

16. When was the last time you shared a secret with someone, and how did they react? I don’t remember. 

17. Are you more likely to give advice or to ask for it? I used to be the one often giving advice. I don’t tend to ask for advice a lot, but I do try to look up stuff and figure things out on my own. Or I just dwell on stuff and not do anything. 

18. When was the last time you felt totally lost, figuratively speaking? How about literally? >> I constantly feel lost, figuratively speaking. I almost never feel lost, literally speaking. <<< Yeah, I feel that way as well. I’ve been in a place figuratively for quite some time where I don’t know what to do, what I’m doing, or what is going to happen. I just feel so unsure about everything. I don’t know how to get past this. I don’t even recall the last time I literally felt lost. 

19. In what ways are you emotionally strong? In what ways are you emotionally weak? I don’t feel I am emotionally strong. In fact, I feel very, very weak. I just feel like such a hopeless mess. I haven’t been handling things well. I don’t know how to get through this. I’ve just kept going and try to get through each day. 

20. What is the strangest book you have ever read? How did you find out about it? I can’t really think of a book I’ve read to be “the strangest.” Probably some book for school, ha. 

21. Do you prefer to watch movies or tv alone or with other people? Is there anything you refuse to watch alone? I love having shows to watch with my mom and/or brother. I just find it more enjoyable and it’s fun having someone to discuss the show or movie with and freak out together. I also like going on my personal Tumblr and seeing what other people are saying about it about it and reblogging a bunch of stuff. It’s just really fun to get involved in a fandom and share the experience with others. 

22. What was the last thing you broke? How about fixed? I haven’t broken something in quite awhile I don’t think. I’m not much of a fixer upper so I don’t know. 

23. Is there a sign or symbol that means a lot to you for whatever reason (eg. seeing certain animals or birds, 11:11 or other repeating numbers, syncs, butterflies, hearts in nature, etc)? Ever since I was a kid the number 8 has been my favorite number and it does have some significance to me.

We know Marc developed DID when he was around 8 (I believe that's how old he is in the flashbacks as a child). But I do really want to know when he was officially diagnosed. Like did Elias take him to see a psychologist as a child like in the comics where he was diagnosed or did he find out later? I really want to know how long he's known he has DID

like you said, comics, we already know. but mcu, we dont get aaaaany indicators of when he found out iirc i think partially as a result of marvel's refusal to name it in the show but w/e

and its really setting me on an interesting path of thinking about marc going through most of his life like we see steven in episode 1. just kind of living his life, but with occasional blackouts that leave him somewhere he doesn't recognise having done something he doesn't remember. maybe even rationalising it to himself as a sleeping disorder like steven does.

like, the closest i could think of him finding out would be around 10 probs, if his dad takes him to a psychologist like in the comics (which side note, was so fucking well integrated and didnt feel stupid or forced literally marvel you could have just done this) or latest? honestly after his mom's death? like that event perpetuates a lot of things. and maybe the fact that he finds himself blacking out more and more prompts him to seek a diagnosis (even if he wasnt looking for a did diagnosis specifically).

mmm but then who was steven calling. i always assumed marc set up a number to call.

but then theres also khonshu saying his mind is broken or w/e and marc doesnt give an indication of either "wtf how did you know" or "wtf what are you talking about". and then theres marc saying he made the deal to "save us". but that might have been an after the fact realisation.

HONESTLY MAYBE HE ONLY FINDS OUT CAUSE KHONSHU IS MESSING AROUND IN THERE. khonshu finds this funny british guy bouncing around in his head and hes like "omg marc check this out" and marc has a whole existential crisis about it. so when khonshu finds ANOTHER guy in there hes like "yk im just gonna. keep quiet about this one" and silently feeds him snacks on the side.

cause he also doesnt mention getting booted from the army for a botched psych eval iirc!!! cant lie in an evaluation if you dont know what you have. maybe getting kicked out for the dissociative fugue state incident is what motivates him to get a diagnosis. maybe its mandated after the event. idk enough about military protocol to speak on that.

all is to say marc is definitely aware To Some Degree of what is going on with him, he just probably doesnt have a name for it. which is like. fine. diagnosis is helpful but its not the be all and end all of experience.

i think in any of these scenarios, at least when he was younger it was a lot easier to understand as an "imaginary friends" situation and maybe that faded as he grew up maybe it didnt IDK.

ok so tldr

situations where he would have gotten some kind of diagnosis that would be the most interest story-wise IMO

young, around 8-10 - follows the comics completely, has him spend most of his early life some degree of institutionalised (would explain his mental association with mental hospitals)

post military discharge - pretty big point in his backstory, would work to really solidify the shame he feels around his mental illness (being very public and on record and all that) and would make sense as there would probably be some kind of investigation into the incident that would lead to a diagnosis

post-steven's reappearance - would be the culmination of a Lot of things happening in his life to the point that even stubborn marc spector can't cope and seeks out help. would explain why layla didnt know as i personally believe he cuts contact with her after his mom's shiva. does bring into question a lot of the more solid aspects of steven's life tho, like the phone calls.

What was it like for Alex to take care of a Very tiny baby Brad??

And oh dear was it tough for our Alex boy

As I said before, Alex went through a really hard time after the whole Colony thing. He got so depressed and so bad that he got Brad and went to live with his family for awhile, just until he emotionally recovery, which took time.

He couldn’t sleep, eat or take care of himself properly so his family was ESSENTIAL for his recovery.

And, of course, they were ESSENTIAL for lil Brad’s baby needs.

Alex has sort of a big family: he has 4 siblings and 3 of them still lived with his parents. All of them did their best to assist Alex and Brad. They wanted to make sure Alex would have his time getting over Elisa and Brad wouldn’t have a single need. Like that, they’d do most part of the job taking care of him because Alex was always drinking, which was definitely NOT safe for such a tiny little baby. 

But as time went by, their family also started to softly demand Alex more attention and care for his child. Yes, he was away from his wife and his other son, who he missed deeply, he was completely devasted. As far as he knew, he’d never see any of them again.

BUT he still had a kid to take care of, he couldn’t afford avoiding Brad forever. The last thing they needed was being away from each other for too long, especially after such a dramatic and chaotic separation. Brad had lost his mom, he needed his daddy.

So, slowly, he started to make an extra effort to get better, for Brad. One of the most present and helpful people around was Leo (short for Leonardo), Alex’s younger brother.

Alex was very afraid of interacting with Brad in the beggining. He was smaller than his fingertip and was very fragile. Part of him was also afraid his baby would be scared of him, even if he was too young to understand. He could still get scared of the gigantic presence he provided and all the loud noises.

But everyone was really careful when handling him, trying to lure Brad to come to their hand, instead of trying to pick him up, and speaking very softly when around him.

Alex’s mother also provided small objects for him to play with, like feathers, thimbles and pieces of wool. She’d also sew little plushies to keep him company in his huge baby crib.

And yes, they kept him in a normal sized baby crib because none of them knew when Brad’d start to overgrow to his human size, nor the frequency of his growth over time.

Feeding him was relatively easy since he was only a few months old, he’d only need the right milk to replace Elisa’s. Alex would collect a small amount with a dropper and very carefully put it’s tip close to his mouth for him to catch and drink for himself. It was a very meticulous process but it was definitely worth it.

With time, Alex started to get closer to his little baby again and would even try to hold him and play with him, all the time keeping in mind how fragile the life in his hands was. 

... He had his own difficulties doing so.

Nevertheless, taking care of lil Brad helped Alex a lot in his recovery. The need to take care of his son made him get his shit together faster. Also, seeing him smile, play around and grow safe and sound gave him the necessary strenght and motivation he needed to see joy in life again, even after going through the traumatic experience of losing a part of himself.
