Welcome to the fourth annual installment of Visions of Temptation - the multifandom kinktober content creation challenge hosted at my blog.

▍It’s absolutely free to use across all fandoms, with a main focus on otome. If you’re a writer, artist, visual graphic creator, etc., you can use these lists to create your kinktober works.

Voyeurism - secretly watching someone participate in sexual activities or do something private and intimate like taking off their clothes. An idea is person A catching person B masturbate accidentally but lingering by the door just a little longer...

Frottage - Rubbing against another person's body/part of the body.

Mirror sex - Sex in front of a mirror.

Dacryphilia - Crying during sex.

S/M - Sadism and masochism.

Spitroasting - A three-way sex act in which a person is penetrated orally and either anally or vaginally.

Omegaverse - taken from fanlore. org: A kink trope wherein some people have defined biological roles based on a hierarchical system. 

Somnophilia - Intercourse while a sexual partner is asleep.

Anonymous sex - Here is an idea: masquerade balls.

Are there any rules? - Absolutely no N/S/F/W or Suggestive content is permitted for prompts, gifts, or references. Louis Tomlinson has dropped a surprise new album, ‘LIVE’.

The release – out digitally now, with physical versions following on 23rd August – features 15 songs, each recorded in a different city during his last few years of touring.

Louis says: “I’ve been lucky enough to spend the last 3 years touring the world twice over. The feeling I get sharing those live moments will be with me forever. To be able to record these songs from all over the world and put them out as an album like this feels so special, and a real tribute to the fans who make each and every show feel unique and incredible. Thank you! Enjoy!”

There are four exclusive tracks split between the physical editions of ‘LIVE’, including a special version of One Direction’s ‘Where Do Broken Hearts Go’.

16th May-16th June: Creator Sign-Ups. 

(Solo creator sign-ups can continue until as late as August)

23rd June: First Primary Creator Check-in:

Primary Authors should have a fic description in mind, and decide if they are doing a fic, ficlet, etc.

Primary Artists should be aware that they will need at least a sketch which they can present for match-ups.

Solo Creators should have a work description in mind, and should present any written/drawn material to the mods at this stage.

Primary Creators may choose to change their role at this stage, but the 7th of July is the absolute latest in which you can drop out, or change your role. If you want to change your role, please email a mod theuhurabang@gmail.com as soon as possible.

23rd June: First Secondary Creator Check-In: (Pre-Match-Up Check-in): Participants must tell mods any special considerations they require for match-ups.

What is the Uhura Bang?

The Uhura Bang is a combination big bang and reverse big-bang event focused on creativity, teamwork and communication. The only rule is that your work must prominently feature Uhura, and there are no word limits or minimums. Your work can be whatever length or genre you choose.

You should be 13+ to sign up. Creators who are under 18, or do not disclose their age, will only be assigned fics rated gen or teen-and-up.

Secondary Artists must complete at least one full illustration, either digital or traditional art.

Solo creators may submit photomanips or collages if they wish.

The inkJam is an annual community organised jam focused on storytelling and narrative games written in ink.

When does it begin? The jam begins on Friday, October 20th, 9PM CEST.

Who can enter? Everyone is more than welcome, either alone or as part of a team.

Is there a theme? Yes, and it will be announced as soon as the jam begins.

What tools can I use? As long as you are using ink in a way or another, you can use absolutely anything! You can find a (probably incomplete) list of engines and integrations here.

Should I write my game in English? You can write in any language you like. Though, keep in mind that fewer people will probably be able to try a game only available in French or Czech than one available in English.

Where can I find help? You can join the community on inkle's Discord server, where a dedicated channel has been created.

How does the voting work? Once the jam is over (on Monday, October 23rd, 9PM CEST), the public will have a twelve-days period to review the games.⁣

What is Bella's Book Club?

Bella's Book Club, (sometimes abbreviated to "BBC"), is an interactive virtual book club created by the Three Books One Plot podcast. Each month, participants read a selected book from the list of Bella Swan’s (really Stephenie Meyer’s) favorite books and authors as it appears in Chapter 13 of Midnight Sun, then come together to discuss it on Discord and other social media.

We post most of our important information here on our Tumblr (check the Official Announcements tag), as well as in the #announcements channel of our Discord. You can also follow along on our Goodreads and join readalongs on our Storygraph (mainly used to keep track of past and present books we’ve read/are reading.)

When is Bella's Book Club?

Last year, Bella's Book Club ran September 2023 through June 2024, followed by a break for our summer reading challenge. Our third year schedule is a little different—BBC will run September 2024 through November 2025, with a break June - August 2025 for our summer reading challenge!

Books are announced one month in advance, and discussions take place once a month on Monday nights at 8 PM EST (Tuesday mornings at 10 AM AEST) during 3B1P’s off weeks. In the event of a postponement, we announce it on Tumblr and Discord.

How do your live readalongs work?

Our live readalongs (not to be confused with Storygraph readalongs) are basically Discord voice chats where we take 5-10 minute turns reading aloud from a specific chapter of this month's chosen book! (If you've never used Discord voice before, it's super easy—you just click on the designated channel, leave your camera off, and turn your mic off and on as needed.) Mods livestream the text, assign the reading order, time everyone's turn, and give the reader a 1-2 minute heads up when their turn is over so they can find a stopping point. It's a judgment-free zone perfect for practicing your silly accents! You're also welcome to tune in and just listen to everyone else read—no reading aloud necessary.

Do you do movie nights?

Yes! We sometimes take a break from reading to host Bella's Movie Club. Many of the books we read have been adapted for film and TV (and when no adaptation is available, we often watch a thematically similar movie.) We host movie nights on our Discord, scheduled according to demand and availability. We usually announce movie nights on Tumblr and Discord a week or so in advance, and schedule them on weekend nights (US)/weekend or Monday mornings (Australia) to accommodate the max number of time zones. If you’ve never watched a movie on Discord before, it’s super easy—anyone who wants to watch joins in via our voice channel, mutes themself (if you don’t know how to do this, the mods can do it for you), and then chats (mostly jokes) in real time via the #movie-discussion channel. It’s a rollicking time.

What books have you read in the past?

For our Season 1 (Twilight) lineup we read Jane Eyre, The Princess Bride, Sense and Sensibility, Tooth and Claw, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Little Women, and Northanger Abbey.

For our Season 2 (New Moon) lineup we read Emily of New Moon, Sunshine, The Tenant of Wildfell Hall, The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, The Blue Castle, Dragonflight, A Long Fatal Love Chase, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Persuasion, and Death on the Nile.

What’s the BBC Summer Reading Challenge?

The Bella's Book Club Summer Reading Challenge is our yearly summer break activity, usually designed to coincide with 3B1P’s hiatuses (though not this year! This year it's just back by popular demand.) Phase 1 of the challenge involves recommending up to 5 books through a Google form. In Phase 2, everyone’s recs are compiled into a list. Readers then choose 5 books from the list to read (and, optionally, review) during the summer months! You can find last year’s list here (and reccer spotlights here.)

Why are the books on your list Like That?

The list we’re pulling from was made by a white Mormon woman for her Not Like Other Girls YA protagonist. (We’ve found that Stephenie Meyer’s taste in books varies from “a quality classic but uninspired as a rec” to “this is actually a pretty cool deep cut.”) But don’t let that put you off too hard—we love reading through a more intersectional lens and Queering The Narrative, for example! We also take summers off to read each other’s book recommendations, which can be of any genre and include more diverse characters and authors. Even when choosing our lineup of monthly books, we try to schedule so that we end up with diversity of genre, era, style, and subject matter if nothing else.

On trauma anniversaries

Personal (and a little oversharing) post but I thought I'd speak out, even if it's just an excuse to type to myself.

Original was written October 2023. It has been sitting in our drafts ever since then. 6/22/2024 Dawn edit - Given we eventually posted the suicidality draft, I thought I'd finally share this. Especially given how much my mind has been on the end of June 2022 this week, both the good and the bad.

12/26 Dawn edit- this was originally written just after our birthday and then left in drafts. It is posted now due to the December holiday passing with no attempted intrusion from our No Contact family.

Plus I am in the middle of creating a self-harm safety plan with my therapist and wanted to see what we typed last time we were fucked up to reference for this project.

This is all from my perspective and my advice may not be useful to all. My therapist always says "take what you need and leave what you don't" when reading mental health advice. I hope there are things that will help on your end.

I've been finding a lot of joy recently in trying to write educational resources when I'm feeling a certain way and I'm feeling a certain way right now.

To those who don't know a trauma anniversary is a recognized within PTSD treatment as a sensitivity to emotional reactions brought about by the annual reminder of a particularly traumatic memory. A widely understood one is 9/11 though birthdays, Thanksgiving and annual family holidays tend to come up in the conversations too.

I suppose there is a little "chicken or the egg" back and forth on if the anniversary reminds the individual, summoning the symptoms or the symptoms of the disorder provide the reminder. My reading has said that in traumatic situations our minds become keenly aware of the circumstances and build an aversion to the situation as a survival mechanism and even the smallest hints of familiarity can activate those defenses.

Either way it is commonly experienced enough to be considered a sensitivity when performing trauma therapy. It commonly manifests via nightmares, excessive moodiness or defensiveness, avoidant behavior, social withdrawal or to put more plainly an exacerbation of existing symptoms. Danger of relapse goes up during these periods.

I know that very well. I try really hard not to let my negative instincts take over when I get this way.

October 23rd and 24th are bad days for me. One is a birthday and the other is the anniversary of the day my marriage ended and subsequently started the chain reaction that made the family I built for myself in the USA outright tell me they do not consider me family any longer, something which I am still not even remotely over. Bio-Fam can reject me, that's fine... but when the Found Family reject you? How the fuck do you recover from that? How are you capable of rationalizing that in a way that does not hold all of the blame to your own throat?

Both days represent the act of willingly burning my entire life to the ground and letting the fires consume every relationship and piece of familiarity I had built in 2 previous lives.

A little hyperbolic but that's the impact and fuck I am devastated by guilt and regret for having done it and a terror that I will do it again someday.

Prior to this year's birthday I had even made a post where I joked about how I wasn't dreading it this year but as the weekend went on the emotions started to fade in and then The Reminders kicked in via emails and IMs saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY. The sources were as innocuous as companies with my details who email coupons or work colleagues or even loved ones and people who I do not want contact from.

I've learned one thing this year and that is "you can't ignore this shit". I was arrogant and thought my progress through therapy and my recent stability would usher me through without incident. I was wrong. Luckily my ability to communicate is better than it was so I was able to warn people and ask for reassurance and care from loved ones and have them tell me that I haven't hurt them and am not alienating them and they aren't upset with me.

So, here's my handy guide (from me and to me) for how to survive this shit for future.

Get Distracted

The best moments of my past 48 hours were when I was busy doing things. Work was useful for me. My girlfriend wanted to go on a shopping trip so I forced myself to get out of the house even when I was feeling like shit and wanted to scream and cry.

The shopping trip was more annoying than it was fun but the chore got me doing something and that got me out of my own head for a little. Sometimes having something to be annoyed about, even if it's a stress, is better than being left to fester.

Communicate

I fluctuated between "I don't want to be alone" and "I want to never speak to another human ever again" about 4 times a minute during the worst of it. I was upfront with everyone in my surroundings that my affect would be off and that it was temporary and fretting over me would stress me out more. Everyone was kind and sweet to me. Also everyone at home knows NEVER CELEBRATE MY BIRTHDAY and so getting full compliance from the people in my life helped a lot.

Limit Decision Making and Stress Intake

When work started piling on I started to get a pit in my stomach that created "we're going to get fired!" thoughts that spiraled rapidly. I almost lost my composure with the screen, with myself, with my girlfriend, with the cat over the stupidest things because no matter how much I wanted to admit it, my threshold was in the toilet and I couldn't control it or will myself out of it. This isn't just anger, it's any and all emotion in excess.

Likewise I felt completely incapable of making even minor decisions during this period. Ensuring I had meals planned in advance helped when I would rather starve myself than commit to even buying food.

Commune with the grief instead

We are all quilts patched from every person who has ever loved us. It's okay to accept that there are complicated emotions. Life cannot be as black and white as we force it to be in order to survive. Part of healing is communing with the pain in a way that neither outright rejects it nor fetishizes pain to the point of which you are intentionally triggering yourself. I found a lot of comfort in watching the shows/playing the games that people from before always wanted me to. It's like doing a little bit of finished business, getting to share something with the living memory. It doesn't change the past but it lets you feel a positive connection. It gives positive momentum when the old scars itch and you want to scratch them. Growth off of the scorched Earth without interacting with the past itself and allowing it to intrude on the present.

So whether I support my dad's football team, watch something with the knowledge that she would have loved it or finally see the inspiration for the character he tailor made to be your character's villain in TTRPG, see that game they always talked about liking; I like doing this as something I can DO with the emotional build-up that depends a reaction.

Be Grateful and Show Love To Those Who Stand By You

I have spoken to every partner today just thanking them for dealing with me while I'm like this. I'll talk to my therapist tomorrow. Guilt and paranoia are ruining me at the moment. Assuring people what I lucidly think and feel helps.

Be Open to the Idea That You May Be Wrong

Just... I can tell I'm off. I know I have warned people I am off. I may actually be off. Communicate and offer love and understanding and apologies if needed. It will pass.

It's healthy to understand that while you're compromised you may not be fully yourself. Tread with caution. Do not make impulsive decisions, ask for outside opinions when you need grounding. Allow yourself to not feel guilt when you act in ways you're not proud of.

Help Others

Gotta admit doing the shopping trip with local girlfriend and being love and care for long distance one helped get me out of my own head. I find this one is actually really useful for me and I should think about how I can do it more in the future.

It's extra energy and costs spoons when you're not doing great, but it's applying effort in a positive regard.

Forgive Yourself

If I know myself I will be reading this in a year's time. That's why this post exists after all.

Just... forgive yourself. For abandoning people. For running away. For being imperfect. For choosing to be a woman. For not fighting harder. For not being who everyone needed you to be.

Don't seek to rationalize, don't seek to minimize. Do not even seek to accept what you did.

Just forgive. We are okay. We hurt people and ourselves. We handled things poorly. We broke contracts of the heart and shatters dreams of the future.

But we're alive. We have a chance to be happy again. It's okay to be the villain in other stories. It's okay to not be a perfect victim.

Forgive yourself.

Find something to look forward to

There is always "the next event". Plan for it. Get out of the present and the past. The future is there and it is waiting for you.

It'll be okay. The danger has passed. This week will pass.

It will be okay.

INTEREST CHECK RESPONSES

Event Duration

With 47 individual responses, it has been determined by the community that the most desired frame for the 2023 Hashirama Week will be seven (7) days long with an additional day to cover Hashirama’s birthday.

The event will run from Monday, October 16th to the following Monday, October 23rd, 2023

Will there be NSFW Prompts?

As determined by the 80% of votes in favor of NSFW prompts being included, we will be including NSFW prompts for Hashirama Week.

NSFW prompts will be written in red text and bolded with a | separating it from the SFW prompts.

Example: (Any) Mythical AU / Hanakotoba | Monster Fucking

It is required that artists and authors tag their works accordingly if depicting explicit content. #nsft and the appropriate community labels are a must when posting. (Moderators have ensured that Mature content is not hidden from the Event Blog. We will see your work as long as you tag it and/or mention @Hashiramaweek2023.)

To participate on Ao3, you may submit your works to the Hashirama Week 2023 collection.

Twitter

Due to Twitter’s new account policy, we will not be hosting the event on Twitter as “Accounts may be permanently removed due to prolonged inactivity” after a period of 30 days. Because we do not intend to maintain Hashiramaweek2023 past a three-month period (Until 23 January, 2024), it is likely that the account will be removed afterwards. However, we still encourage you to post your work wherever you are comfortable!

Participants are required to adhere to the following rules and regulations. Failure to do so will result in your account being blocked.

AI Art & Writing

The Moderators for HashiramaWeek2023 do not recognize AI Art or Writing as valid content as it has roots in Art theft and Plagiarism. If you attempt to submit a post containing any content generated using AI you will be blocked.

Hate Speech & Harassment

Hate speech and harassing other creators is unacceptable. If you are seen leaving negative comments in the replies or tags on other creators’ posts, we will be blocking you. If we’ve already reblogged your own content by that point, it will be removed from the blog.

Reposting Art & Fic

Please do not repost other people’s work, even with permission.

Collaborations

Fandom is a collaborative experience! We welcome all forms of collaboration, be it multi-artist, multi-author, or artist and author collaborations.

Shipping

Shipping is permitted so long as the works are Hashirama-centric. However, we do have a handful of restrictions regarding the content of the works submitted. While we recognize the inherent creative value of more controversial topics, we respectfully request that the following themes be excluded due to the current Moderation team being unequipped to handle them:

No Rape/Non-Con

(Dubious consent is allowed but will require warnings.)

No themes of cheating/infidelity

(Polyamory is not cheating. OT3s are welcome.)

Hashirama Week is meant to be a week celebrating Senju Hashirama. Therefore, themes like Bad Brother Hashirama or Dark! Hashirama are discouraged. He is an inherently complex character whose existence has strongly impacted the course of history in Naruto and we would like to focus on him and his relationships as they are.

Hi Sharp!!!! Hope you're doing well!!

This is a sign from the universe to actually redo my wips on the list (/silly /lh). As pretty much all of them are abandoned concepts. The kitchen burned down a long time ago, I have not been cooking at all! (/silly)

I will share this one, though, as it was a favorite of mine for a while! So, the thought started with Cucuruchito (of all things) saying something along the lines of "You never really leave the island." to Bagi. That inspired me to write this post! (Fair warning this post was written on October 23rd, 2023, and there is a mention of c!Forever).

The basic plot was that younger Pac and Mike, who were on Quesadilla Island for vague reasons, meeting up with Tubbo (who's the same age he was in canon at the time) in order to learn more about machines. This interaction was stated to be routine. Later, the three would meet Fit and kinda bother him until they all ate breakfast together as the sun rose.

That's it. It's not that good of a concept in hindsight. This was back in October when I wasn't as familiar with the Morning Crew as I like to think I am now. I hope you weren't expecting anything too grand.

December 2023 Year in Review

Hello hello, everyone!

To herald the coming new year, I thought it appropriate to go over some of our achievements from the last year and see how far we've come in the development of An Immortal Laid to Rest.

So without further ado, let's begin!

Year in Review

Now, when I was writing this, I was taking into account milestones that were completed during my tumblr hiatus last year. This will be more of a year-and-a-half in review, but I still find it important to have these accomplishments written out.

So let's take a look at them, shall we?

December 23rd 2022 — Completion of Draft 2, Act 1 January 1st 2023 — Begun Draft 2, Act 2 February 22nd 2023— Clotho concept art completed May 18th 2023 — Completion of Act 2 May 29th 2023 — Lachesis concept art completed June 4th 2023 — Atropos concept art completed June 28th 2023 — Project : Desert 3rd Anniversary

July 5th 2023 — Begun Draft 2, Act 3 July 15th 2023 — Mid Monthly Report 3rd Anniversary

August 9th 2023 — Completion of Act 3 August 10th 2023 — Completion of Draft 2’s entirety September 9th 2023 — Begun Draft 3, Pre-Log November 20th 2023 — Completion of Pre-log; Begun Draft 3, Act 1

It took: 379 days / 12 months and 14 days to complete Draft 0. 375 days / 12 months, 10 days to complete Draft 1. 332 days / 10 months, 29 days to complete Draft 2. We are currently 107 days/ 3 months, 16 days into the writing of Draft 3.

It has been 1275 days/ 3 years, 5 months, 27 days since Project : Desert began.

Reflection

Seeing accomplishments laid out like this puts into perspective how much I've managed to do in the last three and a half years. From a short story in a zine to a novella in the making— I guess I'm just proud of making it this far.

But most of all, it tells how I need to be a lot easier on myself. I tend to get caught up in my work and berate myself for not working hard enough. In the moment, I can't see the work that has been done and how it adds up to the final product.

With that thought in mind, it's with a heavy heart to say I won't be doing the Mid Monthly Report anymore. What started as a way for me to see how much art and writing I managed to do in the span of a month has evolved into deadlines of work that hasn't been done; work that's fallen behind. And it's hard to keep up with on top writing and just generally life.

I don't think MMRs will be gone forever. I plan to start utilizing quarterly reports to keep y'all in the loop of what's happening. But for the time being, this will be the last proper Mid Monthly Report for awhile.

It's been a good time, y'all and I'm incredibly thankful to have y'all be on this journey with me.
