Delilah tapped her fingers idly against the metal hood of her car that she'd been leaning against. How long did it take people to actually leave prison after incarceration? It would likely depend but it felt like she'd been waiting an age for Mateo to step through the gates. The thought made her stomach twist with an emotion that she couldn't quite place yet. How long had it actually been since she'd seen him? Sometimes it felt like yesterday that she'd last laid eyes on him but she know it was probably closer to twenty years.

So much had happened within that time that the redhead thought of fondly, none more fonder than him. Mateo was her teenage dream, basically eighteen year old Dolly's reason for existing. He was a bad boy at his very core and that never much impressed her mama and daddy, they always preferred other boys, any boys really. But she was in love and that was more important than life itself. Until, it all imploded in their faces and she was left heartbroken.

She hadn't kept up with him, nor had she thought of him too much over the years; an incredibly successful career under her belt and a less than successful marriage saw to that. Only when a mutual friend they shared informed her that he was getting out of prison and would perhaps need some support, did she let herself consider him again. A loner, even then, it seemed that old habits died hard, their mutual friend informing her about how even now, Mateo kept his circle small and didn't when she bumped into him at the car-wash.

So lost in her thoughts, Dolly didn't immediately respond when the old metal gates began to shift, only straightening her posture when they began screeching against the ground. "Teo!" she called out, casual use of the nickname she used for him slipping out with nostalgic ease. She offered a shy wave but the woman stayed still to allow him to come to her. She wasn't sure how he would respond, would he even want to see her?

Fan Fiction Author Seeks Pen Pal

So Jason writes fan fiction, mostly Animorphs but he has thoughts for Scooby Doo, Inspector Gadget, Ghostbusters, and a few others. He's in federal prison (Fort Dix, Low Security, New Jersey) which is a long story.

He is looking for a writing partner willing to type up his handwritten chapters and post them to Patreon first and AO3 six months later. His writing partner will split Patreon proceeds.

I can manage his accounts for him but I cannot take on the writing stuff. His goal is 8 chapters a month (2 chapters a week), $6 per sub per month. Given Patreon's payout structure, if he can get 1000 subs, that's $2760 per month for typing 8 chapters (Jason said he had over 9000 readers on AO3 and he's hoping he can get 10% of that readership to subscribe to Patreon). It's not a bad gig for anyone interested, I just can't do it.

Writing With A Partner

Have you ever considered a writing partner? There are a lot of reasons that would benefit both parties. You have someone to bounce ideas off of. You can share the workload and get instant feedback. Of course, you give up full control over the project and half to share the credit. But someone always has your back, so that is a plus. Another way is to join a writing group if you are not ready to go one-on-one. Just keep in mind, that having a writing partner can keep you focused and committed. But no matter what you decide, remember, "Enjoy the Write!" KSCarson

Cassidy usually loved parties but tonight seemed to be the exception. She liked hearing the bass of the music hum through her body, liked losing control under the influence of alcohol or something more illicit, liked dancing with her girlfriends and wearing something short and sexy. Not tonight though. Tonight, her boyfriend Christian was coked out of his mind and acting like a prick to almost everyone he came into contact with. It didn't surprise her in the slightest, she knew what kind of man he was; he was a full fucking criminal and not the usual 'bad boys' that she dated.

The young woman let out a long sigh, both arms resting against the railing that she was leaning against, fingers curled around an almost empty glass of champagne, watching the festivities happen on the dance floor below. Fuck this, she wanted to go home and with that thought, she turned on her heel and collided with someone, the remainder of the bubbling golden champagne splashing down her dress and on to her bare legs. "Jesus Christ," she hissed, eyes narrowing on the man before her. "Watch where you're going next time, I wanted to drink that, not wear it."
