Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

A Heian-era mansion in Japan stands abandoned, it’s foundations resting on the bones of a bride and it’s walls packed with the remains of a the girls sacrificed to keep her company. This is the perfect place for a group of thrill-seeking friends brought back together to celebrate a wedding. But secrets get dragged out of friends and house, something lurking in the shadows.

I’ve been waiting to read this book for a long time and I think it became overhyped in my head. Don’t get me wrong, the story puts you on edge and has great tension between the characters, but the ending fell flat for me. I will say that my favorite part was how there seemed to be unspoken (and sometimes said) hatred between everyone to the point where you’re wondering why any of them are friends.
