It’s so messed up that King Candy could just remove his subjects’ memories whenever he wanted. I find it hard to believe that in fifteen years, not one single person in all of Sugar Rush felt sympathy for the homeless, persecuted, abused nine-year-old kid whose only crime was existing. The palette swap racers were never shown bullying her. The other racers in general could have been subject to Taffyta’s bullying if they didn’t fall in line with her or when Vanellope wasn’t around to take all the fire. I bet they had some moments of compassion. They’re kids, not monsters. A decade and a half is a long time to stay bullies with no basic decency whatsoever at any point. Especially when you remember that Vanellope’s stolen code still left her with the sense that she was a racer and subconscious driving skills, and her fellow racers were similarly programmed to like and be loyal to her. They could have been nice to her without allowing her to race. But it wouldn’t have mattered. Not with King Candy’s hands in the code.

Imagine having an arc of personal growth and forming a bond with Vanellope, who treasures it immensely, only to have all those memories and thoughts and feelings forcibly ripped out of your consciousness. By an authority figure you trusted and admired, no less. Would he always lock up Vanellope’s memories too, so that she wouldn’t expect anyone to give her a chance? Or do you think he’d let her feel betrayed and abandoned every now and then?

Sorry for not bringing you the comic update and just upload this sketch, but this month I have been very busy as I had an emergency and had to accept a lot commissions to be able to pay for the surgeries of a stray cat that I adopted. This is the most decent thing I have, even so I hope that next time I can bring you the third part of the comic.

🫐Event Summary🍒

You, Grim, Ace, and Deuce decide to visit a new arcade that recently opened up in the town not far from NRC. There, you meet up with Ruggie, Epel, Silver, and Idia, who have all taken interest in a specific game in the corner of the arcade. The game is called Sugar Rush! Since there's two arcade machines, Ace challenges Deuce to one round of the game, and whoever loses must pay for the other's lunch. Deuce unsurprisingly accepts, and they begin their match. Midway through their match, however, the game suddenly glitches! You and the gang all think the game is broken until a flash of light comes from the arcade machines. Next thing you know, all 8 of you are somehow inside of the racing game, Sugar Rush!

To escape this sweet nightmare, you must win the next grand prix and obtain the Cookie Cup! But, uh oh. Ace and Deuce are having a bit of a squabble. It seems like you guys are going to have to split into two separate teams!

For this grand prix, Deuce will be accompanied by Silver and Idia as...

And Ace will be accompanied by Ruggie and Epel as...

The WIR Comic Zone Comics: Better Sequels than RBTI

So, back in 2012 and 2013, Disney made a magazine called Comic Zone. Since it came out when WIR did, there were three comics about the movie in the magazine.

What’s cool about these comics is that they take place after the movie—they were sequels to Wreck-It Ralph years before Ralph Breaks the Internet even existed.

So, without further ado, here are the Disney Comic Zone Wreck-It Ralph comics! First up is “Wrecking Party”, taking place in Fix-It Felix Jr.

It’s so nice to get a glimpse at how the Nicelanders are treating Ralph now, since that wasn’t shown at all in Ralph Breaks the Internet. It’s good to see they’ve invited him into their social circle, and that they want to show they accept him for his wrecking, not just because he saved a game. Also, I LOVE how chill all the Nicelanders are with Calhoun now.

Next up, the Sugar Rush comic: “The Donut Kart”!

I love these comics so much because they give lots of focus to the secondary characters. First Gene, now Wynnchel and Duncan! They’re definitely funny and underappreciated characters. Also, this comic is awesome for actually taking Vanellope’s role as leader of Sugar Rush seriously. I really wish we got to see her kick butt as president instead of just calling herself a princess. She really shows off her resourcefulness here, even if her idea won’t work after a while.

Finally, my personal favorite…”The Final Level Boss”, taking place in Hero’s Duty!

This comic went viral because of a certain red-and-white racer’s game in the background…but it’s worth the read for more than just that. This one is interesting because things in Hero’s Duty didn’t really change much in the movie…but Calhoun did. I like to think of this comic as showing her character arc, since she herself is a bit of a bully to her soldiers. But she’s loosened up ever since marrying Felix, and she’s willing to put the “love” back in tough love and defend her game from a real bully. I love the last panel and how it shows Calhoun talking to Markowski as an equal, rather than yelling at him and treating him like an idiot, showing that, at the end of the day, her harshness is just an act.

Ever since I watched Randomalistic’s Turbo/King Candy video, I’ve been sinking back into my Wreck it Ralph hyperfixation which then made me come up with a crack au of dad Turbo

Like imagine if Turbo never went…..well…..turbo and his game remained plugged in the arcade with Felix over the years. He’s still an egotistic asshole but isn’t as murderous like in the film and sees himself as a role model/inspiration for the newer racing game characters.

But then Sugar Rush is plugged in and he now has a little hell spawn rival who is Princess Vanellope. She’s just as cocky as he is and they’re always spitting insults at each other with the little racer calling him “grandpa” and “bug face”. To her, it’s all fun and games while Turbo is so done with her!

But then he notices her racing and realizes she actually has skills. Maybe not as good as his (no one can ever be better than him) but still impressive. So he gives her tips on how to improve her speed, perform tricks, drive dirty and rough, etc. and then eventually bringing her to practice on his track in his game. Everyone is so astonished by this. Turbo not only openly acknowledging another racer but also teaching them?!

Whether they realize it or not, they develop a mentor/student or pseudo-father/daughter dynamic that has everyone in the arcade giggling at how funny and kinda endearing it is.

Every time Vanellope wins a race, Turbo brags about it to everyone, saying how “She learnt that from me!” And “Of course she won! I’m her teacher after all!!”

He is the ultimate soccer mom who brags nonstop about his winner child and is such a bad role model (encourages cheating and being a show-off) and always spoils her
