🫐Event Summary🍒

You, Grim, Ace, and Deuce decide to visit a new arcade that recently opened up in the town not far from NRC. There, you meet up with Ruggie, Epel, Silver, and Idia, who have all taken interest in a specific game in the corner of the arcade. The game is called Sugar Rush! Since there's two arcade machines, Ace challenges Deuce to one round of the game, and whoever loses must pay for the other's lunch. Deuce unsurprisingly accepts, and they begin their match. Midway through their match, however, the game suddenly glitches! You and the gang all think the game is broken until a flash of light comes from the arcade machines. Next thing you know, all 8 of you are somehow inside of the racing game, Sugar Rush!

To escape this sweet nightmare, you must win the next grand prix and obtain the Cookie Cup! But, uh oh. Ace and Deuce are having a bit of a squabble. It seems like you guys are going to have to split into two separate teams!

For this grand prix, Deuce will be accompanied by Silver and Idia as...

Battle for the Black Cauldron Part 2

After much pain, second-guessing, and rewriting I have finished part 2! I tried to make it shorter so it's not a giant wall of text, but it was so hard to not turn it into the equivalent of a small chapter in a novel lol. I'm thinking of maybe seeing if I can move the fic over to A03 or something so that I can write the different parts at the size that I want and not have to cut myself off to make each of them smaller, but I haven't decided yet. I'm planning to make a couple of posts to explain some of Anna's, my lovely little Yuu's, backstory and a little bit about where my own head-canons influenced the story because as I'm sure the size of both parts can tell you, I'm very much a ranter. So, if that's something you would be interested, in keep an eye out! I hope everyone likes part 2 :)

After a couple of moments of walking the large group of Night Raven students finally reached the entrance of the school. The doors were open, and a tall figure stood in the doorway with a strange smile. Anna frowned at the smile on his face, she didn't understand what it meant. She hated smiles, they were her Achilles heel. She already picked up very few social cues, and it had taken years of practice to figure out how to translate those small body movements into the emotion behind them. However, smiles…they just didn't make sense! Supposedly they meant someone was happy, but there could also be a hundred different hidden meanings behind them. In Anna's opinion, smiles were a conspiracy.

The figure stood there, almost the same towering height as Malleus, the tan horns atop his head nearly brushing against the stone arch of the doorway to the school. Arianna assumed he was a fae similar to Malleus due to his horns and the pointed ears that peeked out from under his muddy green hair. Unlike the horns that Malleus possessed, his horns grew out from the side of his head and grew up towards the sky.

He was wearing black and gray shoes with grey slacks that reminded her slightly of the pair of pants she used to see her grandfather where when he took her little sister out to one of their golfing tournaments. He wore a red shirt with a maroon overcoat. His overcoat lapels were neatly ironed out revealing the even darker fabric underneath it. A black cape was clipped onto his overcoat and fell behind him to his knees; it was rather dramatic in Arianna's opinion.

The figure bowed as they all arrived at the entrance with the flair of a showman grinning at all of them as he stood up. One of his hands rested on his chest as he began to introduce himself, "Welcome to Black Cauldron College, my name is Hunter Kavanagh; it is my honor to host you here for this year's Battle for the Black Cauldron."

His eyes glinted strangely as he glanced about at all of them, his smile growing. He ushered them into the castle, just in time for the overcast sky above to turn into a raging, thunderous downpour, the sky lit up with an occasional lighting blast.

"Holy smokes, we got in right in time," Anna commented, looking behind her as the large wooden doors closed behind them. She shuddered slightly at the boisterous sound of thunder still audible even within the stone walls that now sheltered them as she brought Grim closer to her chest, the small creature awoken by the thunder, awakening with a jolt. Arianna had already been hesitant to go on this trip. It had taken some coaxing from her friends to convince her to accompany them. "Hey Sebek, are storms like this normal here in Briar Valley; should we be worried?"

"Of this scale? Occasionally. Such storms usually occur around this time of year though, especially in this area. Briar Valley isn't known for its sunny weather; there is no need to be worried," Sebek explained, his eye twitching slightly.

"Geez, it sounds like it's going to flood out there. It sounds like one of the rains you get before a typhoon back home," Ace commented, Deuce nodding in agreement as they looked around nervously.

Before anyone could say anything else Hunter began to speak again. "I apologize if some of our students seem a little skittish. It is not often that we get visitors from outside of Briar Valley, never mind someone of such standing as some of your number. Please allow me to give you a tour of our school so you may familiarize yourself with your surroundings. Before that though, I'm afraid I must request that you all change into clothes that will conform to our school's dress code," He said, speaking with calm control, the same glimmer in his eye as before.

It didn't seem to fit him.

Arianna didn't like the idea of changing into new clothes. It had already taken her some time to adjust to the Night Raven's uniform and quite a bit of alteration to make it fit her probably as the uniform was intended for a boy and she was loathe to deal with the hassle just for such a small trip. She knew she would have to suck it up though.

Before anyone could say anything most of them were ushered off. It was kind of annoying how much they were being moved and rushed about like they were on a time limit. Arianna stumbled along, struggling slightly to keep pace and before she knew it she was shuffled off apart from the rest of the group before she could protest or ask what was going on. She found herself separated from the rest of the first years and Grim alone in the hallway with two students from Black Cauldron College.

Arianna was briskly guided into a room, a bunch of clothes shoved into her hands before the two students disappeared before she could even ask their names now alone in the empty room with just a plain mirror. Arianna looked slightly in surprise as she saw that it was a dress. Not just that it was a dress but it was also her size.

Arianna couldn't help but smile and giggle in excitement at the idea of wearing a dress. She hadn't been able to wear a dress like this since the trip to Noble Bell College. She still had the dress, Rollo had let her take it home with her and she kept it happily in her closet at Ramshackle and rarely touched it except on special occasions or in the dead of the night when she was taken by the urge to dress up just for the fun and sake of it.

While the trip to Noble Bell had been…a mess, there were still plenty of good memories from it and she still wrote letters to Rollo and some of the other student council members at Noble Bell. Perhaps this little field trip would be that bad after all.

You felt like you were living in a dream, a picture-perfect dream that only existed in fairytales. How else could you have ended up alone in a quaint cottage on the edge of the sea with Jade Leech; the man that had captured your heart since day one? And despite Floyd and Azul basically making the two of you pack up your bags for a week-long vacation with the crush that you swore was secret — as you hadn’t uttered a word to anybody — you found yourself and Jade alone with just each other for an entire seven days. One hundred and sixty-eight hours, ten thousand and eighty minutes, alone. Scratch that, maybe not a dream, this seemed more like a plot of some cheesy rom-com where both of the characters confessed their love to each other on the beach. But there was no chance that Jade, the Jade Leech would do that… right?

“You seem distracted, Prefect.”

You jumped and hit your head against the hanging flower bed since the two of you were doing some sprucing up in the garden. You were fine, but your clumsiness sent a pot crashing to the ground, leaving you more embarrassed than anything. “Nope! Perfectly fine!” But the rise in octave betrayed you.

If it were anyone else, Jade would have found it amusing, which he still did, but instead of just chuckling at your misfortune, he helped you get out from under the flower bed, and made sure that you weren’t hurt. “Hmm, are you alright, my dear,” he hummed, looking you over for any cuts.

I’m not okay, no, especially with you looking at me like that and calling me dear. I think I’m going to have a stroke here. “Yeah! Just my own clumsiness is all—” you stopped mid-sentence, and stared at Jade. 

The mid-afternoon sun cast him in a warm light, turning his eyes into a glowing gold, and highlighting the olive of his right eye. The ocean glittered behind him. He had a few leaves stuck in his hair, and some dirt on his face, so unlike his clean and refined state that you usually saw him in. And the look he was giving you… it was so soft, so full of worry, concern, and love. 

Perhaps you had hit your head hard enough to give yourself a concussion, with your luck it was more likely than your feelings being reciprocated. 

And Jade’s staring at you was not helping the manner, he was looking you straight in the eye, and you couldn’t look away for some reason. You two hadn’t even been here for a full day yet! How could you expect to survive an entire week of this?!

You weren’t, that was the entire reason the both of you were here. Azul had grown tired of seeing Jade get distracted on the job, and Floyd was getting bored of seeing the two of you do nothing. But you and Jade didn’t need to know that, even if the mer-eel knew what Azul was plotting with this ‘vacation’. This was all a set-up for the two of you to confess, and what a fine set-up it was.

“You need to be more careful,” Jade breathed out, finally putting his concern at ease when he couldn’t find anything wrong. 

There he was, giving you that look again. “Uhhhh, okay,” you said eloquently. Who could blame you really? 

Jade chuckled softly as he helped you up, brushing some dirt off your shoulders. And before you knew it, you were rubbing off the smudge of dirt that was on his cheek, and he froze, looking at you with a curious look.

Shit, did I cross his boundaries? SHIT-

“You are full of surprises,” he murmured, taking the hand you used to smudge the dirt off his face into his, before placing a kiss on your earth-stained knuckles. A week alone, that’s rather unfair of you Azul, but no need to worry, I shall use it to my advantage. And he then placed a kiss to where you had bumped your head. “Hopefully that speeds up the healing process, my dear.”This is a dream, a fairytale scene. This can’t be actually happening… right? But the lingering sensation of his lips on your cheeks was very much, not a dream.

A/N = I'm... trying to get out of my lazy phase... I'm gonna take it slow. Slow.

Second part

Heartslabyul

When you first tell them about chinese new year, they're amazed. Like wow, your world also celebrates events? Being a lover of events, heartslabyul helps plan a chinese new year celebration.

Riddle, the oh so loving dorm leader, INSISTS on making it a perfectly rule-abiding event. He's asking you for detailed instructions to avoid offending the traditions. Like oh? You need to buy new clothes for CNY? Guess what. Everyone in heartslabyul gets a new fresh shirt or outfit.

His favorite rule is the one where everyone has to clean the day before. The sight of everyone deep cleaning the dorm along with their room is just so satisfying for him. He's enjoying it.

Though, I can't lie. Some rules he doesn't agree with. (like no cleaning during CNY)

Trey helps prepare festive food (ofc he does). He's baking red velvet cupcakes and tangyuan (sweet rice balls) to fit the theme. Accompanied with the loud bustles of the

Ace and Deuce would argue over decoration and stuff but they quickly stop when you tell them it's actually not allowed.

Cater takes aesthetic pictures for his Magicam and helps decorate ig? But he mostly just take pictures.

Don't be surprised if the dorm is DECKED with red paper lanterns and chinese decorations.

Savanaclaw

Savanaclaw's celebration is... lively and chaotic actually.

Leona pretends not to care but shows up to observe the festivities (mainly because Ruggie bribed him with food). He honestly doesn't care for events like CNY but for you, he cares.

Moving on, Ruggie LOVES the idea of red envelopes and tries to get as many as possible while also munching on dumplings. He wishes he lived in your world. You get red envelopes filled with money every year? He's so in.

Jack respects every tradition you explain from your world. He listens to you intenly. And it's not all for show. From sweeping the dorm to hanging banners, and even helps string lanterns high up for everyone to admire, he did it all.

The lion dances are a big hit. But Leona only scoffs, but you catch him watching intently.

Octavinelle

Octavinelle’s CNY celebration feels like a high-class event hosted at the Mostro Lounge. It feels like a crazy rich people party. Probably beacause that's what the host is but,

Azul uses the opportunity to market themed dishes and drinks, decorating the lounge with elegant red and gold accents. He advertises it as 'The annual other-wordly celebration' cuz it quite literally is other wordly.

Jade is in charge of the menu, he... adds his own unique twist to traditional dishes like longevity noodles and steamed fish, while Floyd runs around causing chaos with firecrackers and scaring customers. Please stop bro

Azul, of course, keeps a close eye on him while insisting on a proper ceremony for an authentic touch.

The celebration is a HIT. Everyone loves it. And they love it.

and yes, he had one made for it. smaller version of his own and stuff, it literally has better privileges than any other resident of the dorm.

^ he totally drinks tea with it and believes that even if it isn't actually alive it's him and if this tsum didn't drink tea at the exact time for a specific rule he still feels like he broke one.

he even pours a cup for it hekasbkqkas.

I mean the liquid doesn't get drank by anyone obviously but riddle still does it.

so as he's walking back, opening the chair to take a peek to see if it's enough cubes once he closes it, and looks up he almost just trips on air and drops the glass jar.

he fumbles with the object for a second, blinking rapidly at the sight of you snuggling into his tsum then giving it little kisses every now and then, did he hear you calling it cute—?

"wha...what in the world are you doing?!"

"it's so adorable.." you mumble, hearing the boy but it just goes in one ear and out the other.

good lord he doesn't know whether he'd like to melt into a puddle, combust from his red face, or be that tsum.

should he be jealous? no. but is he? yeah. even if he's denying it severely.

next session the tsum was left with no tea and was promptly caged in his room in hopes that you would not do all that to his tsum, and to his real self instead.

god forbid if malleus ever came inside the room cause he's just gonna see a lot of stuff.. but don't worry cause sebek atleast has a separate corner for all that.

as per dorm rules! don't want it flying away anywhere if a.. *coughs* storm suddenly appears.

lilia had already invited you in and insisted it was fine for you to enter sebek's room beforehand even with your doubts he just pushed you in and you weren't in a place to argue when he didn't even budge when you tried to stop.

once you just walked around out of curiosity it was only in due time where you would see the plush.

an idea pops in your head.

sebek did not expect to see you inside his room.

let alone on his bed, with his tsum in your arms and you dutifully committing yourself into showering it with love and affection.

he's just flabbergasted, shocked to silence, every synonym near to those. but there's an increasing amount of steam pouring out of his ears as his face twitches more by the minute.

"WHAT ARE YO—"

you kiss it so casually that sebek shuts up and almost faints out of embarrassment and fluster.

he doesn't really put much love to his tsum but it's pretty cute that's all. rook finds it way more appealing than him though which he isn't sure how to interpret.

epel doesn't leave it just anywhere when it's outside of pomefiore. cause students there are polite and definitely would not wreck a plushie that looks exactly like him.

if he did the tsum would probably disappear on campus and be found in a dumpster.

epel is just gulping down the water when it's just coincidence that he lowers the cup, sees you, there's water still in his mouth, then you give his tsum a little cute kiss so he just spits it all out.

OH MY GOD WHAT WAS THAT. he thought completely out of it. he stares intensely at the tsum.

he's definitely regretting venting to the tsum about you cause epel somehow thinks it's somehow alive and is now rizzing you up, with the knowledge HE gave IT!

・They do hand-dying and offer custom colors: "These shoes are hand dyed. I wanna get a pair in my own custom colors!" - 🦈

・Vil met the designer at a party wearing their "mirror heels" and the designer was so impressed that they offered Vil the role of Ténèbres brand ambassador, which he accepted.

・Vil's father heard about Vil being hired as brand ambassador before Vil had the chance to tell him for himself.

・Ortho describes a pair that are black with blue highlights and are being sold for 360,000 madol, possibly inspired by these Berluti shoes?

・Vil says they're known as "phantom shoes*" because they are not available on the market.

In a line that was mistranslated on EN, Jade wishes for the ability to grant Floyd and Azul's wishes during the Wish Upon a Star event.

And Floyd's wish? For a pair of Ténèbres shoes 👀

And it seems as though Jade's wish came half true as he was able to procure a pair of Ténèbres shoes, but he gave them to Vil, instead 👠 Maybe he was only able to acquire the mirror heels and not the custom shoes that Floyd has wished for? 👞 It is a curious and most interesting subplot!

haha i just finished my secret santa(s) event and now making it about the twst freshies!! for those who don't know what it is, it's a secret gift giving game. usually it is done with your irl friends, however you can host an online session with artists/writers :]

yuu is the one hosting for the festivities and approaching winter break holiday coming up. christmas probably doesn't exist in twst but in yuu's world it did, so they're bringing it over to celebrate with the other first years!! (i mean winter break does exist so they're utilizing that)

of course, none of the first years have ever heard of this game. once yuu explains the rules of the game, the freshies are interested to see what the others are going to get for them. is it going to be awful? or is it going to be really good and they can't be outdone like that? unfortunately grim and yuu are too broke to participate so they'll (read: yuu) be organizers and handle any questions or arising situations.

after writing everyone's names, shuffling it, and handing each slip of paper one by one, it's mainly 2 types of reactions: obvious or poker-faced. yuu quickly gets their attention to organize the time and to prevent the others from peeking into each other's paper; they settle on giving gifts before they are whisked off to winter break, back in their own homes.

minor issue: they forgot to impose a budget. oh well, it was a minimum spending budget anyway.

fast forward to a day before everyone's scheduled to leave through the darkness mirror, and yuu hears a knock on the door. sebek is the first to arrive, followed with ortho and jack right on time, and epel a mere moment later. ace and deuce arrive a little bit late.

ramshackle's not entirely too festive in yuu's opinion, but with DIY crafts, it's the best they and grim can do. yuu notices how some presents are wrapped nicely while others... there certainly was an attempt! it's endearing to see the effort put into it though.

and without further ado, grim decides to pick on someone to make them go first. a few laughing, scuffles, and a lot of unwrapping presents later, the freshies all present what they got!

ace -> limited queen of hearts collector's edition card deck along with the regular edition (from ortho) ace was shocked because he tried to get his hands on it before but failed and gave up

deuce -> crochet bunny and chick (from sebek) deuce thought of it as him and his mom and nearly teared up

jack -> a mountain load of apple-pear granola bars + its recipe (from epel) jack immediately unwrapped a bar to eat it in literally two chomps

epel -> high quality applewood roasted beef jerky in different flavors (from jack) epel was fighting demons to not rip into it right there and then

ortho -> intriquitely designed clock (from deuce) ortho got curious of its mechanics and detailing and got analyzing

sebek -> warm customized pj set + bathrobe (from ace) sebek really enjoyed the set's texture, quite a luxury

yuu's really happy for the 1st years, but they all surprise yuu back with presents of their own! they gifted yuu something similar to their own giftees.

Ace -> customized pj set + throw blanket (where he got yuu's measurements is a mystery) (he asked rook)

deuce -> working clock that doesn't require much maintenance and doesn't break often

Jack -> a lot of non-perishable food

epel -> a harveston cookbook, boxes of apples, and a handful of apple-pear granola bars

ortho -> straight up appliances like a toaster, microwave, heater, etc.

sebek -> crochet plushies--mainly a cat, hen, and mouse. (cat for grim, hen because my yuu's named chicken in the game, and mouse for mickey (he doesnt know))

incredibly touched, yuu is happy that they thought of them while going shopping. they weren't even aware the freshies would do this! at ramshackle, there's nothing but fun festivities and the holiday spirit (not the ramshackle ghosts)!

I don't know what demon has possessed me to finally post something on here, but I saw this post about this event way too late at night and it just triggered something in my brain and now I have like several pages worth of a fanfiction so now I feel like I have to post it lol. I don't really know what I'm doing, and I'll probably come back later if it's possible and edit because I'm not the biggest fan of my first draft. It seems a lot more novelistic than fanfictiony to me but oh well. It's just a small snippet, I might right more but I'm not sure. It's just like a little, way too long opening I wrote with my version of Yuu and a little too much foreshadowing that probably makes no sense if you don't know my version of Yuu's intricate backstory lmao.

It felt like she was walking through jello or trying to walk underwater. It was hard to breathe and it took every single amount of focus to continue walking forward and not to drift off. It was completely black, and nothing was visible as she stepped forward.

It felt like it had been hours, but barely 2 seconds had passed. Time seemed to move slowly as if it was stuck, its gears and old rusted as they tiredly turned out of obligation. Then, without warning, she emerged. She stepped out of the mirror slowly, the glass rippling behind her as it let her pass; the glass acted almost like a non-Newtonian fluid in how it moved. Parts of it seemed to cling to her almost as if reluctant to let her pass before snapping back into its golden frame as it stilled, hardening again into the reflective glass of a mirror.

The sky overhead was overcast, dark clouds overhead casting the area into shadow. Despite the clouds overhead, the rest of the weather was pleasant. A gentle breeze consistently blew past that prevented it from becoming too humid. Her destination stood in front of her, the large stone castle looming above her, casting a shadow across everything. Before she could examine her surroundings anymore she was jumped.

A familiar grey and blue form leaped into her arms, beaming smugly up at her as if he owned her arms. It was a large, oversized grey cat. Blue flames flickered, emanating brightly from his ears lighting up his strange eyes. His sclera was a light sky blue, his irises a darker shade of the same blue. His eyes were scrunched up from his grin, flashing his sharp pristine teeth. The cat's smile was odd, almost uncanny in its human-like quality. On its chest was a bright white fluff that rubbed up against her, eliciting a small giggle as it tickled her arm. At her giggle the cat seemed to pout irritably, whacking at her arm as he settled down in her arm.

"What took you so long Arianna? I swear you always take longer than everyone else. You're going to have to do better than that if you want to be the hench-human of such a great mage like me," the cat lectured, speaking easily as if he were human as it glared up at her. It should have caused immediate alarm, but no one reacted to it at all, treating it exactly as if it was nothing out of the ordinary.

Arianna grinned down at the cat-like creature in her arm, gently ruffling its head. "Oh Grim, it's just in your head. It doesn't take me any longer than anyone else to get through the portal" Arianna replied to the creature in her arm with a laugh.

She was lying. But Grim didn't know that. None of the other people around them in their student's uniform did. None of them would. Unlike back home they couldn't recognize the way her head twitched to the right as a warning tell.

Arianna looked up from Grim, noticing the rest of her classmates who she had befriended, and started to consider family ever since she had awoken in a coffin in this strange world. She quickly ran forward, catching up with them as they all walked towards the huge castle in front of them. Arianna breathed deeply, enjoying the fresh air and the scent of pine and rain in the air. She picked up her pace slightly falling in step with one of the other students in the group. He was a tall, imposing figure. His bright, almost teal, green hair stood out easily among the crowd as well as his uniquely stiff way of walking.

"So this is Briar Valley?" Arianna asked with a small laugh, gently running her fingers through Grim's fur, easily causing him to nod off in her arms. "I have to say it's exactly like you described. You can almost feel the magic in the air. Are you excited for this huge event? I didn't realize Briar Valley had its own magic colleges though I suppose it would be weirder for it not to."

"OF COURSE BRIAR VALLEY AS IT'S OWN SCHOOLS!" the boy snapped, quieting down at the glares from their other classmates.

"Relax Sebek, we're here to have fun," another student with chin-height, shining silver hair chided tiredly, rubbing at his eyes as he trudged along.

Before Sebek could make a retort, Arianna grabbed his arm, dragging him off towards the rest of the other first years to avoid an argument as they made the trek to the castle. "Hey Sebek, why don't you tell us about this Black Cauldron College? I've never heard of it before, do you know anything about this event that we're supposed to be participating in?" Arianna said quickly, knowing that a surefire way to get Sebek to not make a scene was to distract him by giving him something to rant about.

"Yeah, I mean I know we're going to win, but what's the huge deal?" Ace, another one of the first years, interrupted.

"Oh shut up Ace, don't get ahead of yourself. I bet you'll make us lose," Deuce retorted earning him a playful shove from Ace as Sebek watched on with disdain.

"Shut up juice!" Ace snapped, his face turning red.

Before it could turn into another fight between the two of them a quick glare from their house warden shut them as they started walking slightly faster, not wanting to earn Riddle's wrath so early on in the trip.

"Is it a physical competition?" Jack asked, his boots clomping down along the winding stone road up to the stone castle, Black Cauldron College.

"As long as it's not anything prissy I'm down," added Epel, scowling when Ace ruffled his lavender hair.

"We're here to participate in the Battle for the Black Cauldron," Sebek snapped, glaring at the other first-years as he shook his head at their lack of decorum that he had long since given up on constantly trying to correct. As he spoke thunder crashed in the distance, creating a rather ominous edge to his words

"Well, that sure wasn't ominous," Arianna commented sarcastically, looking up at the sky with a raised eyebrow, trying to distract from how she had jumped when she had heard the thunder and how her body remained tensed as if ready to bolt. Arianna shook herself slightly, focusing on the feeling of the still-sleeping feline beast's fur under her hands. "This is going to be an adventure. Glad I brought my camera." Just seeing him made your heart race and brought a genuine smile to your face

You would secretly watch him enjoy the treat and just seeing the happy expression he would make on the first bite made you feel so giddy

Sadly today you weren't greeted with the usual smile of Skully, he looked positively miserable
