Drivers heart rates during a stint

I love it when drivers mention how fast their heart rate was during a stint! Here’s one of my favourite drivers (Mathieu Jaminet) talking about Porsche drivers having a higher heart rate than most other drivers in a different car manufacturer. Fascinating!

I love on how there’s just so much heart related stuff in racing. Like I just cannot help always think about how their bodies are reacting to the stresses in the car - getting in/out of the car, in a battle with another driver, the temperature in the car, fighting the car if there’s an issue, the focus after a deep breath, etc. like it’s truly fascinating just thinking about it all. How their emotions are, how their heart feels, their adrenaline pumping constantly, their focus flowing, them fighting fatigue when in a full course yellow for so long…the human body is a fascinating work of art and the pure emotion of what motorsport has to offer is absolutely bliss. The highs, and the lows, it’s all poetic. Racing is an art, and it requires so much energy and dedication to have a fit mind and body in this sport. It is the best high you can get. But the greatest thing of all, is always coming back to even the most frustrating race. Why? Because it is addicting. It is an addiction that brings you a victory if you fight and fight and fight to get a sharp mind to withstand all of the circumstances in especially an endurance race like the 24H of Nurburgring or the 24H of Le Mans. I love racing, and this is my dream to become a Porsche factory driver, and the Porsche drivers are more on edge according to JamJam talking about him having a higher heart rate. It’s just so interesting! 👀

So every time him and Matt Campbell are in the car I just again cannot help but imagine where their heart rates are and what emotion they’re feeling; blood pumping so quickly from the adrenaline and working the car, also their chests rising and falling heavily after a stint and ready for a double. Truly, motorsport and emotions from the heart is poetic and are perfect combinations. Dreaming of being Porsche factory driver and being a cardiophile? Wow! What a combo! 🫀😍

I just need to be in one so bad. This is what I crave. Sure the sim is amazing and I love it, but nothing, and I mean nothing beats real life racing. Like get me in a Porsche 992 GT3 R or especially the 963, I am so needing it! Driven by dreams. That is what Porsche is all about, making dreams matter and making them come true.

Michi was also talking about her heart rate! Gosh I love it when they do! She drives for Lamborghini, but she also drives a Porsche and I am so glad the Iron Dames at least drive one in the ELMS (European Le Mans Series)! I honestly think it suits them a lot better because Porsche has the motto of “driven by dreams” and their motto is “women driven by dreams”. Honestly that meshes well with the Iron Dames so hoping one day they’ll go full on Porsche because Porsche is unbeatable! They even won at Imola yesterday so yep, they suit the Porsche a lot. Not to mention Porsche is so strong and always has been; relevant everywhere, always making dreams come true, always pushing, always having passion, motivation…I just love this brand. They bring a powerful message and they are also focused on women making dreams come true. Eeeek Porsche!

But yeah this is always wholesome looking at what the drivers say about their hearts. I love it. It goes hand and hand together. It is a feel that most would find crazy, but others would devour it, I’m the others, and yes I say this a lot but seriously, this is my dream - to drive for Porsche. Maybe the first female factory driver for them? No idea if there was or not, but anyway. I love it.

It’s so criminally underrated that hearts are the organ that keeps us alive and it’s so overlooked by many people. People don’t often see fascination of a human heart going up to 178 or even in Laurens Vanthoor’s case, 190 BPM, after an hour long stint in the car. It’s just insane! Let alone this is an underrated high. I don’t do drugs or alcohol and I can definitely say this is far healthier than that. You have to be addicted to this. You have to have pure passion for this. Because if you really wanna do it, then you will go for it. It’s pure bliss!

i have this headcannon that since ben often gifts clover with flower related things (the painting of her favorite flower, he got her the tuber roses she wanted after that florist wouldn’t sell them to her bc she wasn’t married, and the geranium seeds) he’s going to somehow find a way to gift her seeds of her favorite flower that she’s never seen in person. in this hc, when they go to rome, he finds some specialty flower shop where they sell the seeds of it and he waits until they’re back home to gift it to her, which would be a whole moment in and of itself. then once clover plants it, she tends to it very meticulously, almost obsessively and ben will have to like yank her out of the greenhouse sometimes bc she’s just so consumed by her excitement and anticipation that she forgets mealtimes and what not. and once it blooms, i feel like it would be a very full circle moment for clover. i think she’d realize that all the things she never thought possible for herself, are well and truly hers now and no one can take them away. a happy, loving marriage, an amazingly supportive and caring family, a sunshine-y best friend, and her middlemist reds.

because ricky was SO dumb and tried to make jason appear as percy 2.0. he introduced a new character out of nowhere - this obedient good-boy all american hero, perfect flawless appearance, super powerful son of zeus - and presented him as percy’s replacement. and it didn’t help that percy - the character everyone loved so much and had been anticipating for so long - was nowhere to be seen. therefore jason’s presence in the series was received as a threat to our main character

but then i feel like most people (including me) read all of HoO and grew to love jason dearly. as the series went on, he became more human. more relatable. the more we saw his flaws, and the less “perfect” he became, the more likable he grew to be. when i first read TLH, i thought he was SO boring. and it didn’t help that piper was CONSTANTLY going “wow jason is so perfect he has no flaws 😍.” but then their personalities began to really bloom in mark of athena. and now, i really do love him so so much. he’s adorable. he is a cutie pants. and i love the similarities and differences between him and percy.

they’re both leaders. they’re both powerful. they both had to learn how to wield a great amount of power and pressure at a young age. but where percy is hyper and has a sarcastic sense of humor, jason is calm and has a dry sense of humor. where percy is reckless and thinks with his heart, jason is reserved and thinks with his head. and i love them both.

rick just did jason dirty by introducing him as percy’s replacement. i truly believe if we would have met him from anyone else’s pov first, especially percy’s, he would have been IMMEDIATELY adored by the entire fandom. because he really is such a great character and is so lovable once you get to know him for who he really is.

Oh darling - PLEASE don’t apologize.  i am sorry your work has been so crazy.  i work insane hours myself, so i really can relate, and i feel you.

And i love love love that you’re already inkling-ing.  Yes that is totally a verb, WHY DO YOU ASK?  i have all the faith in the world in you, and i already know whatever you write will be fabulous and i will absolutely LOVE it.  (Meanwhile, i’ll tide myself over by thinking about CS on that chair.  If you need me, i’ll be overe here.  Swooning.)

My favorite tradition is actually somewhat European (although it doesn’t hold true for all European countries): i love celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve.  So, on the evening of the 24th, with a five-course meal, and the Christmas Story, and a real spruce tree with real beeswax candles on it, and ornaments dating back through the decades to when my great-grandmother was a girl.  

We don’t put up the tree until the 23rd, you see - which means it’s been outside in the freezing, ‘hibernating’, the whole time.  Once you get it inside and water it, it comes back to life overnight as the water shoots up and opens all pores, and the smell of fresh spruce needles becomes incredibly intense.  Add fresh beeswax candles to that, which also smell amazing as they burn, and boom - you have CHRISTMAS.  :D

And then we sing Silent Night, and it’s cold and dark outside, and we’re inside with this amazing tree and everyone gets ONE present from each person.ONE.  Never more than one.  That is also a tradition.  And another tradition is that many times our presents are handmade, or they’re for a future event.  Like, i give my mom a “long weekend” every year, and that means i take a the time off work and we go and travel to a city we haven’t been to for four days.  (Half the fun is picking the city together.)

And then we drink port and fall into bed, and the next day there’s turkey and sweet potatoes and stuffing, and friends come and celebrate with us, and it’s amazing, and funny, and boisterous, and LOUD - but it can be all those things, because Christmas was the night before, and everything is already beauriful, and there are neither presents nor stress.  Just hugs and good company.  (The older i get, and the more horror stories i hear about stressed-out families and epic shouting matches and near nervous breakdowns, the more i can appreciate that i am very, very lucky.)

i’ve lived in different countries and on different continents, and many times i was too far away to get home for the holidays, but i have taken this tradition - celebrating Christmas on Christmas Eve, with a real tree and real candles and one present each - with me wherever i go.

I'm not sure I understand what you're asking, but yeah totally! Fire shooty is an excellent combo! Though, fwiw, I'm not personally going to remember what custom tag you want to use! Simply because I have a ton of tags to remember, and I don't want to mess up your custom tag! Also, if it helps, it's explain in this post, in Faq #9, how to use custom tags! In Faq #4 explains the differences between signatures, custom tags, and suggested tags!

And you do raise a good point about remembering custom tags! I'll add in a sort of suggestion/faq question to cover that concern! But for the sake of helping you and others, I'll also copy paste it below here!

What if I forget my custom tag? Can you help me figure out what tag I sent in?

There's two suggestions I have for this.

Immediately, or beforehand, track your custom tag in the tumblr's search index. Custom tags go into the third tag slot, and should appear as a tracked tag.

Save a text post in your main blogs drafts for what custom tags you have used for easy reference. It could also function as a master list of used custom tags if you also follow the below suggestion.

Additionally, if you have other kin blog(s), save a draft of what custom tags you have used for that specific kintype or source. This is particularly useful if you're like me, and tend to save posts to your drafts for private reference.

You could also send yourself an ask message of your custom tags to your main blog, or a sideblog that gets fewer ask messages on average.

If you have forgotten your custom tag, I can only propose making a new tag and following the above suggestions, or perusing posted kinfessions of the relevant sources, character names, or topics like shipping issues, memories, poie issue, and so on!

Wow good things came Aera’s way in this chapter and I was HOOKED on the big events that took place here 😍🤩!!!

We must start with Jax and Aera’s first date aaaahhhhhh 🥰 They’re so darn cute and lovestruck with the fuzzy wuzzy crush feelz 💘 It has my heart that he’s so nervous around her and is all heart eyes over her smartness and kind nature 😇!!! I also loved how cheeky and flirty she was 😋!!!

Omg I’m so struck by how you got across their deep connection 🥲 She sees through to him and sees that there’s so much to him because he lets her see these sides to him and he lets himself be free and truly himself with her 🥲💓

she drives him batshit and yet somehow makes the bad shit go away.

Brown eyes look up at him the moment he walks in and though it’s eight o’clock at night, no sun could ever shine so bright.

“I’m a fucking Son of Anarchy.” And then a thought crosses his mind he doesn’t speak: ...but here with you for the first time I feel like maybe I don’t have to be.

God I absolutely love that she’s creating a better life for herself - for someone who already lives a great comfortable life, she still has struggles she faces, such as her work-life balance and workplace environment and the heartache she’s been carrying for 18 years, and it’s so admirable that she’s chosen to take active steps in adding to her peace and happiness 🥲

Firstly her decision to quit her law firm and break the detriment to her work-life balance and remove herself from that toxic workplace culture, goooo Aera!!! And ugh doug the douchenoozle is one of those men 😫 Oh I know not to get worked up over those type of men but damn he makes my blood boil just reading about him 🤢. I just winced at his invasion of Aera’s personal space, and how he played ignorance to the incident at the networking event not taking into consideration that Aera would clearly and understandably rather not be anywhere near his guy. And fuuummme when he played the condescending back-handed compliment card “wYh caNt a StrOnG womAn LiKE yOu jUsT LeaVe thE PaST beHiNd” 🙄 Typical he sees a young, pretty, petite woman and thinks she’ll be a polite pushover, *hurl* sleeze oh yuck, all the respect to Aera for standing firm and deciding to quit and get the hell out of that toxicity!!!

And then soon after taking that great step, she made the decision to take a chance with Will and start to allow herself to find happiness with him 🥲

California sky-blue eyes flash in her mind for just a moment but she can’t let them back in—it’s just a fleeting glimpse of Jackson—flame already fading farther in the past the more she falls into Will’s presence and she wants to be present with him and only him ‘cause he fucking deserves it.

“… and then I said ‘I’m sure it’ll happen if it’s meant to’ as I ran out of the bar.”

Aera cringes at the memory; expectedly, the story gets the same reaction from her friend too. “I’m sorry, but ‘I’m sure it’ll happen if it’s meant to’…?” Stephanie repeats incredulously, wincing hard as if the words had left a scar. “Damn I’d forgotten what a bitch you are!”

“I know it was a shitty thing to say,” Aera admits with a self-deprecating laugh at what an idiot she’d been the other day. “I just freaked out and had to say something before I ran away.”

Steph takes a deep sip of her Big Apple martini, the bright green drink she always orders when she visits New York City. Licks her lips cleanly. “I mean I guess it’s not that shitty. You just probably shattered all his manly dignity.”

“Oh he’ll be fine,” Aera replies then thanks the waiter who arrives with a big bottle of red wine, to fill her nearly empty glass. “Will was just buying me a drink because I saved his ass—if there was ever any interest from his end I’m sure it’s gone now I came off like such a spaz. The loss of dignity’s all mine.”

“You know, this is just like those years ago, when you refused to get it through your head that Jax Teller could ever really want you,” Steph points out. “Though there was no reason to doubt. You’re still the same stupid smart girl that I once knew in high school aren’t you?”

“In some ways, yes,” Aera says, eyes rolling in exasperation at herself for being such a fucking mess. “Some days it feels like I’m that same dumb teenage girl whose heart’s still stuck on her first love somehow. You’d think that I’d be done with her by now.”

“We all move on at different speeds. Guess running into this Will guy was the last thing you need.” Stephanie reaches for the little menu standing on the table as she’s hungry for some snacks. “So when you say he looks like Jax…”

Aera for one has still been struggling to recover from her hunger for the walking talking snack known as Will Miller. “I’m serious. It’s not like oh he looks a little bit familiar. He legitimately could be Jax’s twin or clone or something and at first I thought that I was just delirious.”

Lately she wishes Will weren’t real—wishes she didn’t have to deal, with all this crazy shit she feels. And yet the racing of her heart won’t let her run from just how fucking real he is.
