I'm a little late for WIP Wednesday but I haven't knit since Wednesday so it still counts right?

I have absolutely smashed this underarm portion of the back panel, on row 153/160 (95%!!!). However. My goal for the underarm length is 24 inches. And I'm currently at 22. T-T I will Increase My Total (168 will probably work but I'll report back when I have motivation)

I'm already looking ahead to the upper back portion, which will be about 64 rows based on my gauge. Plus a couple more rows for shoulder shaping.... I'm Actually on row 153 out of 238. 64% finished.

I'm usually a Process Knitter but this is very much a Product Knitter's project. I keep daydreaming about all the lace shawls I could be knitting (but never wear). But the Evil Pink Cardigan.... My precious...

ooo a fun question!! setting aside ficlets that i've written in response to my own silly lil aus and thinking only about ficlets that are in response to prompt ask games, here's a few that come to mind!

this angsty, meeting (again) at a party while drunk au

i think most of the prompt fills i write now are expansions of tags i have on my blog (which i very much enjoy because some of the best writing i've done has been in short ficlets doing just that), but i do love this one for being a canon au and mostly a complete story all by its own in less than 3k. i also just did a quick reread and i like obi-wan's voice in it a lot. tired, hurt, unable to do anything but give into anakin

this snippet in the cheating au where things are beginning to bubble over

i just love the cheating au, for one thing, and i love the dynamic here with the four of them (anakin, padmé, satine, and obi-wan) at a restaurant and playing at normal only for obi-wan to end the night laying a pretty overt claim on anakin (by taking his necklace back and wearing it - which padme notices in another ficlet set a bit later)

this snippet in the playmaker au where obi-wan is returned to anakin's care and keeping

i. also just love the playmaker au lmao and i really like this ficlet for how it looks at who obi-wan has become and how when pushed, he'll do anything it takes to get back to anakin, even if it means committing some random taxi driver to die because he got in a bad place. this obi-wan is not the same as the one who went into the prison and he's irrevocably become anakin's by this point. probably doesn't even regret it (much).

and this prompt fill from agesss ago where obi-wan is in the agri-corps and anakin is a jedi padawan and they become penpals (or flimsi friends, in star wars language)

i haven't thought about this au in ages (flimsi friends au lol) but i enjoy it sm. anakin would fall in love with obi-wan via letters despite never meeting him in person and, well. obi-wan would very much do the same tbh

I need to know if anyone else understands the feeling of wanting to spend the rest of your life with someone in ways that Sound very romantic but you aren't into them like that. Fantasizing about living with them. Cooking dinner together every night and watching movies, laying together in silence just because one of you is lonely and wanted comfort. If you have to leave the house before they wake up, you'll make yourself breakfast and leave a plate for them in the fridge. When one of you is sick, the other makes soup and brings them their medicine whenever they need it. Getting home late knowing there will be a warm meal waiting for you, and doing the same for them. But you're not attracted to them, and you know you never will be, but you still want that kind of life with them

WIP WEDNESDAY

A thousand thanks to @rimeswithpurple and @facewithoutheart for tagging me. The chuckle I chocked was a nice addition to my afternoon.

Currently in a phase where I want to do everything all at once, so I end up doing nothing. Who knew inspiration could be so paralyzing.

I've always wanted to make a Snowbaz fic where the poetical title strongly contrasts against the vulgar content within and I think this will be my contribution.

Nothing is graphic since I'm only sharing a title and summary, but the topic is sexual (Like a tab bit). I like the element of surprise, so if you need to know before proceeding under the cut, it's in the tags:

Yes, I do find myself funny. Now, how many words have I written for this? Erm... not much. I find joy in creating titles and summaries because it gives me an excuse to not actually write anything for the story. What happens after I've solidified the title and summary? okay no but look-

who tf. gave genya a sword an told him to go to final selection

It's stated that Genya calmed down and mellowed out after getting Gyomei to train him. ALSO he got mega buff between when we see him at final selection and when he see him next like yeah he obviously had a growth spurt but the point is he went from scrawny to brawny. He was also a giant asshole at final selection so like. Genya 100% only got trained by gyomei after passing final selection.

Which MEANS either someone ELSE sent a kid that cant use breathing to final selection with a sword OR he got himself there. I dont believe anyone wouldve willingly sent him given how important breathing is to the demon slayer corp

also. The only trainers we really see are hashira or former hashira. Im SO convinced there are other that we don't see given that not every water breather couldve been taught by Urokodaki but it still makes sense that these teachers are retired professional demon slayers that lived long enough to be no longer in active service even if they aren't hashira

which leaves us with options:

OPTION 1:

genya tried to learn breathing from a cultivator/some other demon slayer, failed, stole a nichirin sword and probably shook the poor sod down to get info on the when and where for final selection

OPTION 1a

When the person who tried to teach breathing to Genya refused to continue after finding out he cant Breathe Right, said teacher was too strong for genya to really do anything about it (see: they're teaching him and it seems likely that the teachers of demon slayer tend to be upper ranked at least) Genya fucked off and assaulted some weak random demon slayer to steal a sword from and get info

Or, you know, something along these lines because he had to get a nichirin sword and infomraiton from somewhere, and Im doubtful it was willingly given to him since he like. cant fucking breathe.

HOWEVER

when we see him at the end of final selection, he's like. mega obsessed with the sword thing. like. super. like yes these are special swords but here's the thing everyone there already has one of the special swords, just not one of their own.

It kinda maybe implies that Genya. Doesnt have a special sword. So.

OPTION TWO:

Genya has been roughing it with a regular ass sword for seven days and given that he can't Breathe his primary form of defense would've been step one: cut the demons arm off. step two: monch. step three: beat the demon to within an inch of its life with demon enhanced brute strength until he can get away or force it die in the sun.

In which case Genya was not likely to be doing much direct demon slaying during those seven days.

(even if he HAD a nichirin sword theres no guarantee that without breathing he wouldve been strong enough or skilful enough to use it to kill all the demons he ran across but given how obsessed and intense he is with getting his hands on a nichirin blade and how much not one single person would want him to go to final selection, i honestly think he had just some random sword. It would explain why he's so desperate to get one, other than being generally unhinged. Anyway-)

While everyone else was roughing it, surviving and slaying demons in the night, Genyas experience of the final selection exam was somewhere between a survival challenge and an all you can eat buffet, with not a lot of demon slaying involved.

can u imagine being part of his cohort and running across some dude that needs you to cut off this demons head thats missing a suspicious amount of its body bc he doesnt have a nichirin sword for some fucking reason. also he has really, really, fucked up eyeballs.

can you imagine watching one of your fellow exam participants use a sword only to defend himslef bc its a functionally useless offense only to attack by eating the fucking demons.

can you imagine seeing him at one point, looking a certain way bc hes been eating a demon and then seeing him again later looking human. or looking like a different demon. or both.

can u imagine struggling to feed yourself during these seven days and this man is having a straight up feast. and also couldnt be assed to show up with a sword for demonslaying to the exam for fucking demon slaying

Don’t know if I’ve posted this hc before but I think Toby would fluctuate weight a lot because if you can’t feel pain, you don’t get hunger cues or fullness cues

So in my head sometimes he just forgets to eat for a week and sometimes he accidentally eats like 300 grams of protein

I think after I’m done with the fic I’m writing imma write a fic about Allison and Fiev having a close relationship after he comes back in season 1.

I would love to explore how their dynamic would work. I also think that they should’ve been closer in the show. Why? Well…

-five would’ve reminded her of Clair. I mean she was already missing her child and then her little 13 year old brother shows up trying to act like a grown up when his voice is literally cracking. And I know that Claire was probably way younger than thirteen, I really do think that mum instincts would’ve been pushed into full drive. Especially after her little brother passed out from blood loss.

There is no way Allison, a mother, wouldn’t have made five sit his self on the couch and made him drink some water and eat a proper meal. We know she wanted to prove that she was a good mother, to Patrick, to Claire, and probably to herself. I feel like she would have seen her baby brother in distress and would have taken him into her care, proving she could take care of a child.
