It's been a while since I've done a tag game! I'm actually excited to get to do one. I'll use a character named Aedh from WotG since I'm about to start a new chapter from his POV.

What is your favourite memory from your childhood?

Without a doubt, my favorite memory was meeting Orella. She was so beautiful and so kind. Anyone that caught a glimpse of her couldn't stop staring. That is how amazing she is. When I first saw her, I knew we were supposed to meet. In another life, I think she was my mother. I wish she were in this one.

Is waking up early easy or hard for you? Why?

Waking up early is easy since my father is usually already awake anyways. If I slept in, I'd have less time to train, and I need to train. It's the only way I'll ever show I'm worthy of being here.

If you woke up in a different world tomorrow, which one would you want it to be?

I'd want to be in the world where I could summon fire just as easily as everyone else. I'd want to be in the world where I was liked and respected and had a name of my own.

Whispers of the Grey (WIP sorta Re-Intro?)

The Grey are a bedtime story, a warning meant to scare reckless Casters who don't want to learn control over their power. If there were real cases, they were few and far between, meant to be swept away quickly. They weren't supposed to be real.

And Evashen wasn't meant to be remembered. Or found.

...

The Blytridj siblings are the darlings and terrors of The Wyvern Coven of Korryn, a prestigious research collective of Casters. Najdinel "Din" is a dedicated researcher, and her sibling Oren is a promising healer-in-training, both of which causes most to look the other way in regards to their mysterious history and perhaps less than legal means of getting by outside the spyre's walls.

It starts as a simple expedition to a crack in Korryn that reveals a seemingly unknown Shard with ruins that connect it to their deities. Then they trigger an old curse. Reports say that only a handful survived, with the rest presumed dead. And among the fallen is Din. But the curse isn't finished, as Casters start to lose control and the very Shard of Korryn itself begins to break apart, with creatures out of horror stories spilling out of the cracks.

And Oren starts to have visions of their sister still alive, and an ancient land and it's forgotten last leader.

Armed with these foreign memories, an heirloom of the Coven dating back to it's founding, and a companion claiming to be sent by the Veyrit themselves, they set out to save their sister, and their home if possible. But bringing light to the darkened history of Korryn and the Veyrit ruled kingdom before it might prove far worse than any realized.

Bro was a victim of the flammable jelly trap (that’s where this WIP handle came from) because I think it’s an interesting one that wasn’t really shown in the movie too much. He probably survived only because he got help from Amanda or someone I imagine he looks something like a cross between these two.

I’m gonna draw him eventually, but he’s a kind of tan guy with bleach blond hair. He has a large burn scar across his left arm and chest now from his trap. He was tested after dealing drugs to some teens which resulted in an OD and SHing using a lighter. He isn’t a very pleasant person and is probably bisexual. He likes Mexican food a lot and also likes birds and snakes. He has a pet boa. I hope I was able to make him original enough because I’ve had him for a while. Oh yeah I run

hello! I'm aff0_. I go by any pronouns, I have no preference. I'm demiromantic and bisexual. I have no clue what's going on with my gender, and I don't care as much to figure out either. I am a minor, and I'm taken.

loool hi you dont have to respond to this but i just wanted to answer ur questions in ur tags ^_^ i like to think its a small world and daniel and adam have bumped into each other kinda like amanda and he promoted wotg to daniel. so he checks it out but he kinda just goes for adam cuz i think they kinda become buddies after that. he was prob forced into getting merch by one of scotts bandmates tbh LOL. just fun to think about and then it makes it possible to think of apprentice adam and daniel interactions <delusionalism. but yeah loool i love making shit up about daniel hes so fun(heart hands emoji)

Just outside the door they hadn’t bothered to close, the rain was heavy enough to obscure the rest of the town, and it drummed a pounding rhythm on the roof. Hopefully the old wood could stand one more night. Or day. Whatever fucking time it was now.

Ghost-Abyssal Damned

Even her own friends would struggle for more insight into her as a person past the surface level of her interests. It doesn’t seem to be a purposeful thing though, she’s rather warm and inviting after all, it’s more just, Ilm exists as a ghost of sorts, slipping from one group to the other easily, fitting in with practically anyone and everyone, but never really lingering or connecting, and keeping to herself most often. Not an unusual habit for the scholars of Glassfeld.

Okay, alright, cool, so- 

I don’t even know how to go about explaining all of these relationships so I’m just gonna do my best to give an overview of some Highlights ™. 

This got massive, so I had to split it into two graphs, but these two images are the potential relationship charts for Witch of the Greenwood. 

There are two arrow colors - red and orange. Red symbolizes romantic relationships; orange symbolizes queerplatonic relationships (qpr). 

This is more of a draft than anything at this point. There are some things I’m not sold on, others I might tweak, and maybe even some yet to be added. However! There are several that I am in love with and you’ll have to pry out of my cold, dead hands. 

They include: 

The entire top image, which includes:

Four (4) person polycule in the first image. The three people who are not you are dating and will date regardless of your existence. They are, however, open to adding a fourth into their dynamic.

Three (3) person queerplatonic / partially romantic triad. The two people who are not you will end up in a qpr regardless of your existence. One of them would be very happy to romantically smooch you on the mouth or not romantically smooch you on the mouth, and the other would like to do neither but would be delighted if you joined their qpp. 

One strictly monogamous relationship - she’s got nothing against polyamory, but knows it isn’t for her. And hey, that’s okay! Maybe it’s not for you either.

One open relationship - he’s very open (hehe) to the idea of you dating other people as long as you afford him the same courtesy. No overlapping secondary partners with him though; he likes to keep his relationships separate!

One linear polycule where a literal ray of sunshine would love to be romantic with you - as long as you can respect his partner’s boundaries, which includes you Not Pursuing Them. 

From the bottom image: 

Three (3) person queerplatonic / partially romantic potential triad. Date one, develop a qpr with the other, or unite in holy platonic queerness as a qpr triad - the choice is yours :) 

Fully romantic triad. That’s it, send tweet. 

That leaves a few of the relationship dynamics (including a fully queerplatonic, no-romantic relationships present polycule) that I’m still playing around with. I definitely want to have an exclusively queerplatonic polycule, so you can expect that, I’m just not 100% sure yet what that’s gonna look like. 

I know I’ve only listed “Elluna” and a bunch of ovally rectangles with pronouns, but I do already have characters behind (most) of those shapes. I’m just not planning on revealing them all yet because I’d like y’all to be able to discover who’s involved with who when you actually have a chance to play this. 

Some of these characters absolutely will be revealed before the first iteration of the game is published though! Along with other characters who are not romanceable but will hopefully be enjoyable regardless :) 

Is there a relationship dynamic not shown here that you’d really love to see in a “dating” sim (whether that “dating” is romantic or not)? Let me know! I won’t guarantee I’ll add it to the game, but I’d love to at least consider it!!

pspsps polyam witch garden-sim game people

Mondays are for mushrooms, trees get posted Tuesday, on Friday y’all get flowers, and Saturdays I post crystals/rocks/stones. 

I’m also posting Witch of the Greenwood -specific art every other Saturday for screenshot Saturday, since that art will probably appear in the actual game.

I think on the off week in between WotG art, I’m gonna start posting information about the game? Yeah. Yes. I think that’d be a good way to keep up with writing, and a good way to learn how to summarize my game for promotional material + pitching, if I ever do that. 

Okay, so, that was a bit self-reflective, but I’ve got a question:  Would y’all prefer:

1) itty bitty weekly snippets about the game

2) bi-weekly (i.e. every other week) slightly longer posts 

3) one decently long post about the game per month? 

Lemme know in the replies and/or tags? you can just reply 1 / 2 / 3 in either, or give me a longer opinion :)

Maybe something monster-y

Okay so like. You know how in Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley and especially Rune Factory, there are monsters and weapons and whatnot? Well my original thought for Witch of the Greenwood was that there wasn’t gonna be any of that shit. Not because I don’t like it in those games (mining + monsters is one of my favorite parts of Stardew Valley & Rune Factory Frontier), but because Elluna (main character of WotG) is a witch who’s good with potions and bad with pretty much everything else. 

I toyed with the idea of having her be able to learn / advance spells, but that goes against the original idea and also just starts to make this a completely different & more complex game. Which would honestly be very cool and I would absolutely play that game, but it’s not really what I want to make. 

So then I thought, alright, if I were to theoretically keep a monster / combat element to the game, how would that work if I a) won’t really give Elluna combat magic and b) I don’t plan on having weapons? 

Enter Astra, the familiar. This is an idea I’d really like feedback on, but as a way to make the familiars a more important aspect of the game, I was thinking about making it so that they accompany you into the forest or dungeon (if I make one) etc etc and that they’re the ones that fight on your behalf. Your bond with your familiar + your progression through the game determine certain attributes of your familiar... and amongst them would be its combat abilities. Not so much thinking customization (though maybe minimally), but more so just how strong they are / what kind of monsters they’d be able to beat. 

I was also thinking that any potion Elluna drinks might be able to directly affect her familiar, so if she drinks, say, a fire elemental potion, Astra’s attacks would take on a fire attribute +/ they’d be resistant to fire damage. Or Elluna would just use the potions directly on her familiar... but I kinda like the synergetic soul link or Whatever more. 

Tldr: would y’all want to be able to explore small dungeons with your familiar, who would do all of the fighting on your behalf, as a non-essential component of Witch of the Greenwood’s gameplay? I’d love to hear your thoughts!! Feel free to send ‘em as an ask if you don’t want to comment on this directly, but feel free to do that to / comment in the tags. Thanks!!

HELLO & HELP, I forgot to write a post for Witch of the Greenwood tomorrow!! 

Is there something specific y’all would like to hear about for tomorrow’s text-post? So far I’ve covered a bit about relationship dynamics, a bit about potions, I think maybe something about gardens?? 

Reminder that WotG is a polyam + queerplatonic relationship-sim gardening game (say that shit 5 times fast). What kind of questions would you like answered about it??
