sorry for not literally posting in a good while, it's gotten so hot where I live where the heat has put me into a writer's block by sucking all the energy from my body and giving me brain fog

however, I bring good news on my syndicate au :) I now have the proper year(s) the au takes place in—1987/1988—and I've created both the title and summary for when I eventually turn it into a fic; rn I'm trying to fully flesh out a timeline so I can slot details in easier when the time comes

I haven't abandoned the halved crown au tho don't worry! It's just taken a hard backseat for now bc the syndicate au is currently plaguing my mind 24/7 lmao

the thing is that martin thinks it took "two years of crisis and trauma" just to make him and jon compatible and the reason jon doesn't know how to rebut that wildly incorrect fact is because he's barely aware that he had a stick so far up his ass in season one that it grew roots in his brain before he stubbornly and meticulously and with gritted teeth plucked them all out. jon could've plucked those roots out before all the trauma and crises if he simply chose to. and he would. in so many universes. because martin (and friendship and love and connection) is worth it. mic drop

EVIL MARK, EVIL MARK, EVIL MARK!!! I want to be coherent about this season but please picture me foaming at the mouth and running on the walls. S2 being what if Mark's just like his Dad? Insanity. I love this show. Anyways, AU where an Evil!Mark tries to make Our!Mark worse, and Our!Mark tries to make the other better. Something something confronting your idea of the worst version of oneself. Plus, tweaked black and yellow costume because I saw it and immediately went murder hornet lookin' ass and knew I had to draw it. Evil ass Mark. Horrible. I think he should be dragged kicking and screaming into redemption.

reflecting on seasons 3 and 4 of slow horses and i'd like to take a moment to appreciate how At Her Fucking Limit louisa guy is and for good reason. local woman who is isolated and very much alone and has just risked connecting with another person only to have that person brutally murdered now risks connecting with SECOND person only for that person to turn out to be god's least favourite court jester who keeps trying to also die on her. please give this poor lady two minutes of peace.

Can we all at least agree that Jayce put the most minimum amount of effort possible into shutting down the Hexgates before Viktor showed up...

We see the power cells are removable when Salo tries to take them:

(sidenote. wtf was this about anyway. We never found out what Vik wanted to do with these. We just have to assume he wanted to recharge himself but it's never discussed)

BUT THEN when Jayce has all of the city's defenders giving their lives to stop Viktor from getting through...

He just TURNS them off. Why didn't you take them out my guy... If it was SO important that Viktor not turn on the hexgates why is Jayce doing this all by himself so last minute.

You presumably had a few days warning for this fight? You had time to get a fancy new suit made and evacuate the city outskirts? To build Caitlyn a brand new Hextech sniper rifle?

There's just no way Jayce is this stupid. It had to be all part of his plan with futureVik to let him get in and turn it on I refuse to believe anything else. The writers themselves could tell me otherwise and I would fight them on it.

a big thing i disliked about season 4 was how nothing really happened. like, everything that occured had no real significance. greendale gets a new student, we never see them again. abed gets a girlfriend, we never see them again for the rest of the season. what was up with that? in all previous episodes, there is something that is gained that's present throughout the rest of the series. whilst this may not be through a recurring character or object, this could be something a character learns or overcomes. after troy and abed had to train fivel for an episode, we don't see him again. but we see the result of their training as seen by troy acknowledging himself as abed's friend and treating him as such. or we could look at beginner pottery, after which we see no pottery being done by any character, but we do see jeff letting go of his obsessive perfectionism and desire to be the best, making him overall a better person and better character. that was lacking in season 4, where none of the episodes had concequence. it was just people doing things to make us laugh, not people doing things for the sake of being better as a result. there're times where there should've been some kind of lasting lesson, like in the sophie b. hawkins episode, where it should've ended up with jeff having a lasting increased respect for britta. but after the episode, all of that new found respect is gone. they could've done so much better, and should have given that show they were writing for.

Cause Jayce's bisexuality is getting erased by the Jayvik fans. 😑 (I swear it was the exact same problem with Meljay, people insisting that Jayce is not gay. Now, they're doing it the other way around and pretending like he only tolerated her. Which is insane).

Like bisexual people are fictional characters and it is IMPOSSIBLE for people to love more than one person.

Even if you don't ship MelJayVik, saying that Jayce at no point loved Mel? That his feelings for her were not real??? Whaaaat?

Fought so hard just to win and lose at the same time. Cause yeah, people now agree that Jayce is in love with Viktor.......and now they're erasing Mel.

Yeah, she's REFLECTING all the LOVE that Jayce feels for HER and PROVING that he feels it for Viktor TOO!! Mel is not a replacement Viktor, they look nothing like, they act nothing alike. 😭 They are two different and yet similar people and he loved them BOTH!

People really took "Mel is an empath" and ran with it right into the ditch.
