they'd definitely need to find the hardiest specimens to help get things started, along with drone intervention to help keep things stable

probably a lot of wildlife that survives in the far north well

lots of evergreen trees and bushes they'd likely need to get some of that water to melt first to get the water cycle going, maybe stick some arctic fish in there worms and bugs to till the soil and help break down all the dead things and to pollinate the plants fungus, fungus everywhere

while thinking of what the trio would get up to in 1500 years and an interesting idea came to mind

so, with all the humans gone, J, N, V and the solver are the last beings around that were on Earth before it got destroyed. Also, after that generation of old drones we see in canon are gone, no one on Copper 9 accept for those 4, Khan, and maybe Nori, will remember being on a planet that isn't just snow, ice, and dead trees (till of course they get some spaceships up and running, but I digress)

now, we've already established that N brought the immortal dogs back, but who's to say he has to stop there?

idea is that N makes it a personal project to work on bringing other animals back to the planet, and that V decides to do the same with plants. So, the two work together with some worker scientists to make the planet habitable to organic live again

I'm not sure how much progress they'd be able to make in 1500 year. It's a long time, sure, but this planet has had like 5 holes punched through its core. That kind of climate disaster is gonna take some time to fix

but I like to think that, eventuality, after spending years at the manor seeing all these plants and animals in books. The two get to see them in their new home as Copper 9 heals

yves never tells u why he likes u so I wonder how he’d react if u forced him to explain himself because u won’t believe him otherwise. and when I say forced I mean that he can’t distract u from it. u demand a 30 page essay explaining in great detail why he loves u. maybe u even ask “would u love me if I was as worm” on occasion

His answer will change depending on your personality, he will tell you what you want to hear and you will fall for it and walk away satisfied.

However, his true reasons consist of his entire, freakishly obsessive nature of his data vault. All five acres and counting; revealing the truth will undoubtedly spook you to death and serves more of a punishment than a reward. Yves couldn't fit all the reasons in a 30 page essay no matter how he tried as he loves every trait, every thought, every molecule and every atom of what makes you, you.

It's not to say that the reasons he would provide you are false, they're also true. It's just the most vanilla ones he picked for you to hear, the most romantic and sane sounding ones. Yves would gladly churn out a one foot thick journal with proper citations and appropriate evidences, which he thinks is too short given the magnitude of his adoration for you.

But it is already clear from his painfully simplified reasons why he's willingly, eternally devoted to you, that the love he holds is undeniably unconditional and undying. Yves loves the best and the worst parts of you, the most mundane parts and the most complicated ones. Things that you didn't even realize yourself and things you never thought were worthy of attention.

He loves you for existing. For being in this world or the next.

Yves already knows the question about loving a person if they were a worm, even before the advent of the internet as couples and children would ask their loved ones questions of similar nature.

He already did extensive research on how to provide the best care for any species of worms, in the whimsical advent where you would turn into one. He has your terrarium sketched out, with enough enrichment a worm could ever have. A list of foods that worm-you might like.

If you actually did turn into a worm, he has no issue spending days observing you in your element, laptop, clipboard pen and pencils nearby to jot down any findings. Just like how he's already doing with you as a human- except when you're a worm, he doesn't need to be as discrete in his stalking and watching.

Oddly enough, if given the chance, he would also want to turn into a worm like you. So that he could just cuddle you, in his own wormy way. No thoughts, just you and peace.

But to sum it up as shortly and accurately as possible, you are his one and only hyperfixation. That term criminally underestimates the permanent, everlasting and perpetual interest and obsession he has for you. You are quite literally, his everything, his will to live and his ultimate purpose. He will follow you to the boundaries of the universe and beyond, loving every version of you and trying his best to fulfil your every wish just to see you smile.

Yves orbits around your world, and he is very happy with it. Nothing will wean him off you, you're forever stuck in his unyielding arms, Yves engulfing you like this protective yet suffocating cage.

James would read books and research online to make sure he cares for you properly. He doesn’t want to hurt you. He places you in his flower garden so you lay in the warm, wet soil.

Erik pats your head and might give you a little kiss. He’s not able to see your flustered expression, but he knows you love his affection. He’ll gently place you on his piano so you can feel the vibrations as he plays. He’ll try to make you little worm clothes too!

Sam is extremely confused on how you turned into a worm. He asks James to help turn you back, but time passes and he accepts your wormy fate. He doesn’t want to leave your side, a bit worried that you’ll get eaten or stepped on, so he puts you on his shoulder. He tells you about how annoying Matthew is being and lets you join in on his tai chi.

That's when you broke down, your whole body collapsing on the bed behind you. A sob went through your body, your heart breaking completely at the information.

"C'mon, baby-" He tired to console.

"Don't call me that ever again!" You yelled into the pillow you were hugging.

"See, this is why I told you to let it go earlier. I knew you'd act like this." He sighed, his hand coming to rub your back but you pushed him away.

"Act like what? Like a woman whose boyfriend doesn't love her? How else would you expect me to react, huh? Should I be happy?"

"Hey! Don't ever say I don't love you." His voice was stern as he pulled you up to look at him as he spoke. "Don't ever say that. I love you more than anything in this world, and you for damn sure know that." His face was gentle but firm, leaving no room for you to misinterpret his words.

"But, not if I were a worm." You sniffled and hiccupped, wiping your snotty nose with the back of your sleeve, looking at him with heart broken eyes.

"I told you the first time, I would keep you in a nice little ecosystem on my nightstand. What's it called? A terrarium or whatever."

"But you wouldn't love me. You'd just keep me as a pet." You sobbed again.

"Babe, I really can't continue this conversation with you if you're gonna get this upset over it. If we were both worms, I would love you and we would have a billion little worm babies. Is that a sufficient answer?" He was trying to diffuse the situation the best that he could.

"You mean it?" You looked at him hopeful.

"I mean it, babe. My worm self would love the shit out of worm you. I'd bring you the best leaves or whatever worms eat and I'd find us a nice little organic compost bin to live in, keep you safe from birds and shit. I'd love you as much as my human self loves you." His eyes were bright with adoration as he looked at you, wiping the remaining tears. You nodded at his words, finally satisfied with his answer.

"So, no more crying over this, silly girl. I love you okay, don't doubt that ever again."

"I love you, too. Sorry for being a bit dramatic." You shyly apologize.

"It's okay, wormy." He teased and you narrowed your eyes at the nickname, but said nothing as you just cuddled into his chest.

So, answering for Astra and Mashal, I can see both of them asking this, but Astra's doing it as a joke and Mashal is 100% serious. You know, fuck it, I'll just write some dialog :3

I really do love this question. The worm doesn't matter - it's asking if you'd love me if I had nothing to give to you. Not beauty or sex or money or conversation. But I think these two would love each other no matter what, even if there were some carnival scams involved.

If all of my Tumblr Tinies™ were suddenly worms I'd get a big clear plastic bin. I'd fill it with a bunch of dirt and mulch for you guys to burrow and dig into. I'd plant little bits of moss and succulents for you guys to have something pretty to look at and munch on!

Oh shit just saw in my terrarium a TINY LARVA. LITTLE WORMY GUY. Blue death feigning beetles are difficult to breed in captivity, from what I heard they don't pupate unless they have warm enough temps and higher humidity than the adults generally prefer, and I'm assuming it's a BDFB larva since they're the only ones I have more than one of the same species, other than Godwin and Edgar, who are both male. Unless the dearly departed Annabel laid any eggs before she died. Not sure what either species larvae looks like, and it squirmed under the fake log just about right as I saw it, so I doubt I could try and get it out to raise it to adulthood, but I'll be rooting for the little guy.

creature corner, featuring my art wall and trinket shelf.. i ended up swapping everything between the 20gal long aquarium and quemada's 10gal. everyone's settled in and looking good <3

rambling about this under the readmore bc i think my animals are fascinating and i've learned a lot about their behavior + needs from this pfft

ok so first off- quemada! she's going into a growth spurt and is almost the length of her old 10gal. she was restless and seemed cramped, so i decided to upgrade her to a bigger terrarium. she's settling in nicely. depending on how big she gets, this could be her permanent adult enclosure, or i'll eventually shift her to echo's 40galB and then put him in a 4x2x2.

the fish weren't doing so well in the 20gal long- they never used the full extent of the tank and were very shy with how open and empty it was. no matter how i arranged it or how many plants i bought/propagated, i could never get it to fill in properly.

my fish had been passing away due to old age over the past few months- opal (betta), mango (honey gourami)... and now most of the corydoras catfish. i've had these fish for years so it sucks a lot. i feel helpless because no matter how i maintain the tank, they still wither away and pass.. ;-;

i don't want to get any more fish, so downsizing makes sense right now. i'll let my fish live out their lives and then keep it as a shrimp-only tank.

the 10gal has some harlequin rasboras, 2 bronze corys (the last ones left;;), and worminator, my yellowtail spiny eel.

i feel weird having wormie in what feels like such a small tank, but i've gotten to know her body language over the past year and a half. i know what she looks like when she's stressed- she's comfortable now. she has so many more places to hide than in the 20gal, which helps a lot. her size is maxed out at ~4", which would normally be too large for a 10gal- but she doesn't swim around like a regular fish. she's an ambush predator that hides in one spot and sticks her head out to watch for prey.

i also found one single shrimp when taking down the 20gal long. i have no idea where the fuck she came from or how long she'd been in there. here she is in the 10gal:

i'm honestly not worried about the 10gal being overstocked- the filter is rated for a 20gal and there are tons of live plants in there. there's a cleanup crew of pond/bladder snails, too, and i plan on getting more shrimp. their bioload is negligible + they help break down waste over time. add regular water changes like usual and it's gonna be just fine.

Aether gets confused, but he says yes. He says that he'd pick her up and hold her on his shoulder so that they could go everywhere together.

Mountain says yes, straight away. He says that he'd make her a terrarium out of his favourite plants and she'd have a holiday home (terrarium) in his greenhouse.

Dew says that he'd love her in whatever form she takes, and that he'd give her gross little wormy kisses. Then, he gets upset because he realises that he wouldn't be able to talk to her anymore.

Rain nods, and he says that he'd go outside with her when it rains and he'd lie in a puddle and watch her while she explores the grass around them.

Cirrus just gives her a very fond look, asks her why she's asking that, and brings her in for a cuddle while saying that she adores her as a ghoul, and adores her as a worm.

Cumulus says that she would, and that she'd take Sunshine on little picnics (the same as they do now), to all of Sunshine's favourite spots around the chapel. She'd carry her in her breast pocket and make tiny versions of her favourite foods, so that they were worm! Sunshine's size.
