#i thought of this a couple weeks ago on the bus a couple seats away from someone loudly coughing into the open air #i think something snapped and i decided to make a fuckin. medieval ass plague sona. horseman of pestilence fursona #this is also why i was asking abt animals with medical symbolism.. originally i wanted a two headed snake like the staff of caduceus #but it turns out thats actually hermes symbol. the real symbol for medicine is the rod of asclepius which looks pretty similar #the difference is that theres only one snake and its twined around a stick. ironically mercy from overwatch's weapons are named after #the caduceus despite the misconception LMAOOO #snakes were the most consistent medicine related animal i could find even across multiple cultures so it couldve really worked #if i could actually draw scalies.. one of my earliest sketches had a cobra with a syringe at the end of its tail like a rattlesnake #and it had markings similar to the syringe tube but i didnt have much else going on so i scrapped it #i was also recommended animals with less obvious ties to medicine like jellyfish and horseshoe crabs and learned something new ^_^#im not confident i could pull off a non-mammal furry but they were really good ideas i might put into smth else.. i also thought of #axolotls bc of their regenerative thing and growing back limbs but i think that would suit smth like a surgeon or amputation...#possums and bats were also an option bc theyre actually really resistant to most diseases like rabies but i feel like ppl wouldnt know that #if they saw it so it looks a little ironic at a glance. rabbits rats and mice were my second option bc of animal testing and lab rats #less obvious reference but the moon rabbit in chinese mythology is loosely connected to medicine bc it makes the elixir of life #otherwise lab mice in a pharmacy / modern medicine setting seemed fitting and jerboa tails remind me of cotton buds #and. ironically. jerboas are more closely related to elephants than rats and mice. can you believe it #my art #myart #my oc #sona #plaguesona #cottonbud #fur #furry art #character design #ref sheet #oc ref sheet

one of the downsides to having been diagnosed with my genetic disorder at a young age is that, despite going to the doctor pretty much constantly up until two years ago (which... was inadvisable), i often find new things out about the disorder because i don't actually have much a clue what it does to me because i was a literal child when i found out about it. like i know the big symptoms and satellite issues it causes but some of them i either forgot to time or just never knew. some of the stuff i just kinda assumed was caused by my illness because it made sense with how it operates since im aware of what it does biologically. but i assumed i was tired all the time because i'm in pain all the time, but apparently we literally just have chronic fatigue syndrome in addition. umbilical hernias. bowel tearing (GUESS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME EVERYBODY. WE KNOW WHAT'S WRONG!!). fragile eyes. teeth abnormalities. etc etc etc. im like. OH THAT'S WHY THIS IS HAPPENING? THE THING THAT'S WRONG WITH ME? FOR FUCK'S SAKE.

every now and then i get irritated with myself for how much i made caden to be the perfect guy for me to get obsessed with and the resultant fact that i am obsessed with him. in terms of oc dna he's kind of like if rorschach watchmen was blond and nothing like rorschach watchmen

Gonna be honest. Thought mouthwashing was a little lacking. I think to me with the set up and premise and just tone of the previous game "How Fish Is Made" I came in expecting a similarly oddly fleshy horror game. I still think it's good but I had entirely different idea of how it would play. I still have my thoughts but I'll mostly just keep then to myself.

#i thought the role pony express played in the story was interesting #the relation between buisness owners and the ship crew alittle more interesting than the actual relations amoung the crew #like the themeing of the buisness as this rotting disease that spreads through its workers #how the crew have to rationalize the poor conditions and horrible situation not rooting from the failures of their job but from each other #tearing each other apart because to them the failure of the buisness they worked somehow relfected onto them like they were the cause #the representation of the mouthwash as this pointless expendable item similarly to the employees #boxem shipem sendem away and dont think about it until they either are on their way or arrive at your doorstep to tell you they made it #it reminds me alot of why i liked alien romulus much more for the conflict around the systemic issues thay create the inciting conflict #over the personal conflicts and reasons for why all the people in that movie wanted to get off of that planet #something something capitalism is a plauge that like a mold that seepens into unseen corners and sickens people slowly til it kills them

the whole thing of treating pets like family members is real cute until you lose the capability of understanding youre caring for animals n not cute fluffy plushies labeled "child"

my mom INSISTED on adopting 2 somewhat big dogs out of pity last year, she insists on getting attached to pets like theyre her children so thats the cutesy way she originally treated them.we do not have enough space for 2 dogs their size n she refuses to ever play w them or take them on walks (im unable to do that myself bc i cant go where theyre kept without help n shed just get mad.i know she would from experience), most of her interaction w them when shes not cutely calling them her kids bc theyre cute to look at is screaming at them for barking, she literally spends the entire day at times talking abt how she wishes she didnt have them n their food is getting way too expensive for how much money we have.so yk she decided to give them away to this guy w a HUGE farm space proper for dogs like them, ignoring how she treats them one could say its noble she realized theyre not well here n let them go somewhere better for their needs

anyways then in less than a day she threw a hissy fit she wanted her "children" back bc she cannot see pets as animals but as cutesy children who need mommy constantly so the dogs r back at somewhere theyll eventually die of boredom bc their only entertainment is barking at lizards bc my mom cant understand dogs have needs n arent there to play cutesy family roles n look nice.its just your responsability for a pet owner to know your ANIMALS needs, n some ppl r literally just not cut to own pets if they insist on seeing them as "essentially people bc its cute to treat them like they r" than animals w specific needs to be kept

like.on base calling pets family is cute.i get the appeal im willing to play along w being the pets sister bc it IS a cute term to use for fun.but when you do it sm you can no longer understand you own animals n not literal children (granted if she treated a child like that shed land in jail immediately) thats just.honestly youre just kinda stupid n obviously get pets bc theyre cute to have, not bc you want to take care of animals

It's really funny looking back at my old concepts for this doll/character and seeing oh I was going for x vibe and now that I'm redoing it (and with better techniques/tools/practice kind of) it's going so much better than it did before

#twist rambles #like. why did i want to do full acrylic on the lips 😭 it does NOT look like real lip texture i promise #this is mostly thanks to a VERY helpful bjd forum member who was very patient with me but i feel that even tho I've taken over 6 months off #doing faceups this one is better than the one i tried to do last on her. weirdly parallel to the first faceup i did on cordy tbh bc that was #after YEARS of not practicing or doing it but doing more art related stuff. and it turned out very well for the time i was doing it #and thats how this is going. i think doing digital art has helped a lot weirdly like I'm working in more subtle layers and building it up #which works better for well. guy w insanely shaky hands disease (esp rn. ive been up nearly 24 hrs). so im glad its going well so far :)#hope that will continue bc i rly am happy w it thus far. rn just waiting for like 5 min until the sealant is dry and then... more eyebrow #work :/ <- hates doing the eyebrows. would love to never ever ever have to do eyebrows again okay.

Sometimes I get so frustrated by how people view others. My chronic pain has been through the roof lately, so at work I take the elevator to reach the upper floors—no biggie you’d think. And the amount of people ‘jokingly’ calling me lazy or something similar because of that is crazy.

The worst part is, I work in a school and the worst people doing this are teachers that teach social subjects. They’re training the next generation of nursing assistants and social workers. Shouldn’t they be more aware of the issue with comments like this?

Instead they try to make me defend my actions, simply for having an invisible disease. Screw that. I won’t laugh at your stupid attempt at a joke and I won’t offer up an explanation. People who take the elevator aren’t lazy, regardless of the reason they take the elevator. Stop judging situations you know NOTHING about.
