God did not allow Noah or his household to drown. (2 Peter 2:5).

Proverbs 20:5 "The thoughts of a man’s heart are like deep waters..."

Sometimes, we drown in our "thoughts." Christ (mediator), who is at God right hand, separated the water. (1 Timothy 2:5, Hebrews 8:6 and Acts 2:33)

THE CALL TO PULL TOMORROW INTO TODAY

"...He has granted to us His precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature..."  - 2 Peter 1:4

Promises from God are met with contradiction in the natural realm. God is announcing a reality to you that will most likely appear very distant and disconnected from your present situation. God's promises are prophetic glimpses of the realities He wants to release into and through your life.

SUPERNATURAL BENEFITS OF THE PROMISES OF GOD

1.)  Promises Call You to Pull Tomorrow Into Today.

Promises will always contradict your present circumstances because God wants you to collaborate with Him, through faith, to bring His promised reality into the present, so that His will can be done.

2.)  Promises Teach You to Prophesy.

Whether it's a prophetic word, a passage of Scripture the Holy Spirit is highlighting, or some expression of God speaking something to you, you have an assignment regarding HIS PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE --when you receive a promise -- align your words with what God is saying. This is the essence of the prophetic: You saying what God is speaking.

3.)  Promises Demand Lifestyle Adjustment and Accommodation.

 The reason there are so many unclaimed, unreleased promises is because the transaction is a two-way street. We just want God to do everything and us do nothing. God, in His glory and love, entrusts promises to us. That's His part. At the same time, we need to steward and carry the promises to fruition. It's not enough to get a prophetic word in a gathering; some people think that just because they "got a word," God is obligated to fulfill it.

The Word of the Lord places a demand on your life. Will you adjust everything -- your habits, your thought processes, your relationships, your pursuits -- or will you continue with "life as normal?" Normal will never be invaded by the supernatural as long as we are content to continue with the status quo rather than accommodate the promises of God.

 WHAT GOD IS SAYING TO YOU ABOUT HIS PROMISES

1.)  The Lord wants you to inherit new promises: Position yourself and live in expectation! He is not looking for perfect people; just yielded ones. Mary was surely not perfect—she was simply willing to say "Yes" to an impossible promise.

2.)  Ask the Holy Spirit for a fresh visitation of His resurrection power, breathing life upon those past-season promises and reviving them!

The Psalm 105 is above all a Psalm of praise to God, but it is also a song with historical characteristics because it recounts the wonders performed by God from the promise made to Abraham until the arrival of the Hebrews to the land of Canaan led by the prophet Moses. And as a spiritual song, the Psalm begins by teaching that there is nothing more important than worshiping God and seeking true beatitude: "Seek out the LORD and his might; constantly seek his face" Psalm 105:4. Then the Psalm briefly mentions Abraham and the promise made by God to the patriarch, and the protection that the creator of all things gave to this ancient prophet: "Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm" Psalm 105:15. But then the Psalm makes a change and specifically mentions Joseph who allowed his family to enter Egypt due to a great famine that broke out in the region. And this mention of Joseph in the Psalm is very particular because it is a precedent in the Old Testament of something that is very important within the Christian faith, how God pours out his gifts to men. With these words, the Psalm described how God guided Joseph's life: "God kept crops from growing until food was scarce everywhere in the land. But he had already sent Joseph, sold as a slave into Egypt, with chains of iron around his legs and neck. Joseph remained a slave until his own words had come true, and the LORD had finished testing him" Psalm 105:19. The Psalm expresses that Joseph was endowed with the gifts of prophecy and clairvoyance and that also by the wisdom that God granted him, he not only saved his family from hunger but also the entire Egyptian people: "Joseph was in command of the officials and he taught the leaders how to use wisdom" Psalm 105:22. The Psalm is a reminder that the true goods for man are the gifts that God gives and not material wealth.

I feel the need to periodically remind people that Idiocracy is a eugenics movie.

One of the things that eugenicists believe is that it is bad for society when the “wrong people” breed.

The entire premise of the movie is that “stupid people” kept having kids while “smart people” didn’t have kids, and it ruined society because stupid genes propagated while smart genes died out. This is eugenics propaganda.

I know people will read this and their response will be “actually it’s satire” but the movie isn’t satirizing eugenics. It’s satirizing anti-intellectualism, and consumerism, and it proposes eugenics as a solution.

When eugenics was first conceived, it was used as a way to justify inequality. The idea was that people who held privilege were able to do so because they were smarter and genetically superior to lazy and stupid people who don’t have privilege. Obviously this is bad and wrong, but it is also the core lesson of Idiocracy.

The movie literally ends with the main character becoming president and having “the smartest children in the world.” Because he and his wife have smarter genes than everyone else. The proposed solution for the things that Idiocracy is satirizing is for the smart people to have children that can be in charge of the world.

I know it’s fun to use this movie to dunk on anti-intellectualism and the MAGA movement, but we need to stop. When you quote and reference this movie you are spreading eugenics propaganda.
