I decided to create a masterpost or two with all the reblogs that I like in hopes that when someone sends out the “help me find that post” I can find it faster. It will be added to slowly because I do not have the patience to do it all at once. Also in no particular order of preference.
Keep in mind none of these posts are my works and I do not claim them as such.
If you see *** they are really good prompts with lots of reblogs.
Will be edited later, last updated: 7-21-24

Inuvember 2023 Part 1
In honor of @inuvember InuKag Day, the Archive Mods have put together a 30 item InuKag recommendation list: one InuKag fic per prompt. Since this list is longer than our usual, we've split it into two parts. Enjoy!
Day 1 Inuyasha
I Hate That Fucking Well by @kstewdeux (M)
Post-manga. Inuyasha POV. Inuyasha's inner thoughts and monologues. Rated M for fucking language
Day 2 Kagome
Cinnamon Hearts by @fandomobsessions016 (M)
"So, you may be wondering, what’s this story about anyway? Well, I’ll tell you. It’s about how this queen, almost lost her crown, her throne, but worst of all… it’s about how this queen almost lost her king…
Hindsight, of course, has perfect vision, but at the time I did not. I was a girl becoming a woman who fought bitterly against change that was inevitable. I didn’t want to open my eyes. I didn’t want to see what was right in front of me.
What I wanted more than anything was to keep Inuyasha.
High school forced my eyes open, tested our “unshakable” bond and made me confront my biggest fear. All because…
I caught feelings for my best friend.
I like-liked my king."
Day 3 Sango
Forever Home by KittyKatz (M)
How long had he roamed the earth in a form that was not his? Beaten, dirty and caged, he finds one last bit of fortune when she comes to rescue him from this place. But his road to redemption will not be easy. And he will find, that no matter how the world has changed, his old enemy remains. And this time, they plan to destroy him once and for all.
Day 4 Miroku
Under the Northern Lights by @lostinfantasyworlds (E)
Kagome Higurashi has her dream job, working as a photographer for the internationally well-known Yugen magazine. Her career whisks her all around the world, leaving her feeling lonely sometimes but mostly just incredibly grateful to be doing what she loves. When she gets assigned to Alaska for a month to photograph a series of celestial events, she runs into Inuyasha, a half-demon who lives on his own in the middle of nowhere. A mutual attraction draws them to each other, but Kagome's time there is limited. Will giving in to their desire lead to love or heartbreak?
Day 5 Shippo
Oh, But You're Good To Me by @witchygirl99 (E)
It’s a terrible photo, really. The action figure takes up the entire bottom of the screen and part of both of their faces. Shippo’s giggling though, eyes shut and crinkled in his mirth while Inuyasha looks at him. His expression is clearly fond. It’s the softest Inuyasha has ever, ever seen himself.
This is fatherhood, he thinks a little wildly.
He sends the photo to Kagome.
Inuyasha is a single father. Shippo is his adopted son. Kagome isn't supposed to be in the picture, but somehow, she returns anyways. A story about family, love, and all of its obstacles.
Day 6 Sesshomaru
Whispers in the Wind by @ruddcatha (G)
It has been 500 years since Kagome jumped back down the well to be with Inuyasha. A messenger waits to see her family, and is joined by a surprising guest.
Day 7 Rin
My Life Before You by @len-barboza (E) -- based on a story by Mizune-mei
No English language summary provided.
Day 8 Kikyou
Stolen Soul by Kimberly-A (T)
COMPLETE Kikyo uses a spell to exchange bodies with Kagome, leaving Kagome stuck in the dead shell and Kikyo comfortably human. In the aftermath, Inu-Yasha faces difficult choices. InuKag, not very Kikyo-friendly.
Day 9 Koga
A New Moon, A New Start by @pinestripes (T)
Kouga visits the village near the Sacred Tree. On this particular evening, he finds that a certain half-demon is more on edge than usual.
Day 10 Kagura
The Portal Between Worlds by @neutronstarship (E)
Ten years ago, a portal transported Inuyasha from the demon realm to the human realm. Now a half-demon alone in a world he doesn't understand, he will do anything to get home. When Onigumo brings him a book with all the answers, Inuyasha pushes aside his misgivings and works with the man. He just wants to get home, after all.
Kagome just wants to make an extra buck (and find demons), much to Kikyo’s chagrin. That is why she published Demons Among Us! after all. But strange things start happening when she puts the book online. As if people are using it to open the portals that it hypothesized… When Kagura and Sango join the fray, the stakes grow higher as they try to find the source of the portals.
When Inuyasha encounters Kagome, fate is not what it seems. Not one, but two realms are in danger for their survival. What happens when the final portal opens and an unknowable terror is unleashed? Can the Demon Hunters save the world?
Day 11 Naraku
You Rescued Me by @keizfanfiction (E)
Maybe it was fate that he decided to take the back way home that night, but whatever the reason, Inuyasha was grateful for arriving just in the nick of time to rescue a waif of a woman who had clearly been through hell. He never would have imagined that she would end up rescuing him, too.
Day 12 Band of Seven
Delicate by @akitokihojo (T)
To trust someone, to let them in, what an unsettling ordeal. Kagome is easy and safe, and Inuyasha is difficult and guarded. She can put him at ease with a smile, simultaneously setting him on edge. It was nothing until it was something, creating absolute chaos and uncertainty within the both of them.
Day 13 Jinenji/ Shiori
How Does Your Garden Grow? by @dawnrider (M)
An Ingary-esque AU: Kagome, the newest generation of caretakers of the Higurashi House, finally starts to feel like her garden and business is thriving with the help of her friend Jinenji. Their routine is thrown off by the arrival of an injured visitor who does not want to be found...
Day 14 Toga
Taisho School of Acting: A Quick Guide by @jeremymarsh (G)
“Excuse me, what?” Kagome looked at her best friend with eyes as big as saucers, lips parted, and her mind replaying what he had said a moment before – trying to find a sense but to no avail. “You heard me.” Inuyasha scowled, looking down, arms crossed and lips pouting, just like he did every time he didn’t like the topic at hand. The problem was he had started it this time. “Yeah, I did.” Kagome shook her head and inhaled deeply before she continued. “And that’s why I’m asking you to repeat yourself since I’m having problems believing that certain sentences left your mouth.” “I said,” Inuyasha started through clenched teeth, still not meeting her gaze, “come to my family Christmas dinner this Sunday.” He stopped, ran a hand through his silver mane, closed his eyes, murmured something unintelligible and then added: “As my girlfriend.”
Where Inuyasha tries to fool his parents and miserably fails.
Day 15 Izayoi
The Silence of Daisies by Fierywenchxo (T)
Inuyasha shares with Kagome one of the biggest secrets he's ever kept. One-shot.

Where did the idea that Macaque and PIF are swirn siblings come from? I've seen it in a few other fics and while I'm not in any way against it I am curious. Is it just fannon or is there evidence for it in either the show or the original text? And how did the two of them meet in your au?
I believe it's a popular fanon idea. I think it spawned from the fact that Wukong and DBK are canonically sworn brothers, and thus Macaque and PIF would have interacted back in the day through the Brotherhood - both were/are not looked upon the best by the leaders of the Brotherhood, so they may have found friendship in one another. They are also both cool af characters that sadly never interacted in the show proper.
Macaque ( -_-)/\(-_- ) PIF: Being bad b*tches with wind powers and impulsive spouses who got trapped under a mountain for 400+ years.
In "The Monkey King and the Infant" au they're sworn/adoptive siblings due to mutual past history, even before The Brotherhood. They met as young children (an incident where little Princess Tieshan stole her big sister's bag of wind and got stranded on the moon), and later became eachother's confidants when they reunited as teens (Macaque becoming PIF's attendant). When the Brotherhood started up, Macaque accidentally introduced PIF and DBK while sneaking out for a meeting. When PIF was disowned by her family for falling in love with a demon; Macaque was one of very few from her old life that stayed by her side. They supported eachother emotionally through thick and thin - SWK being imprisioned + his and Macaque's breakup, PIF's banishment and troubles having a child etc...
Then Macaque "died".
And so PIF lost the closest to a little brother she ever had.
DBK finding out about Macaque's death (or whatever version someone spun about it), combined with Red Son being taken away by Guanyin after the Samadhi Fire ritual, is partially what drove him into a rage + his own imprisonment under a mountain. And so Princess Iron Fan was left (almost) completely alone for roughly 400+ years. It's no wonder why she fcking hates SWK's guts.
By the time of the fic start, she straight up decides "fck this I'm taking my kid back and finding a way to remove the staff. I ain't waiting around on earth alone anymore."
Then a month or so later she recieves a knock on her door;
Macaque: "Hey, jiejie [big sis]. I uh... kinda got revived???" PIF: "...how and why?!" Macaque: "No idea [lie]. Ok, long story short; Wukong knocked me up-" PIF: "THAT SON OF A BIT-" Macaque: "Yeah I was mad too. We're kinda *still* on a break right now so can I crash here until... I dunno either he apologizes, I stop being mad at him, or you know... forever?" PIF, (trying to hide tears of joy): "Forever sounds like just long enough."
The emotional reunion is interuppted by toddler Red Son charging head-first (bull calf style) into Macaque out of excitement.
After realising that his sworn uncle is very upset with the Monkey King; Red Son declares war on Sun Wukong and later secretly begins devising a plan to kidnap him and force him to lift the staff. PIF thinks its adorable how protective Red Son is over them, while Macaque is reading the kid's revenge corkboard like "Oh dang, he's really going for it. I'm so proud of him. Wait... is this what having a kid feels like??"
When SWK shows up looking for Macaque, PIF pretty much wind-fan kicks his ass straight out of the mountain. Cue Wukong thinking he has to do something; Big, Dumb, Dangerous, and Extremely Hearfelt in order to get back into both Macaque's and PIF's good graces...
Small spoilers:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Macaque, extremely touched but confused af: "Peaches, I would have accepted an apology and some flowers!" PIF, non-stop cuddling DBK since he got back: "Not me. This barely gets Wukong off my hit list."
Its a huge thing. The citizens of Diyu are shooken. By the end of it, the fam is extremely confused but happy to be reunited. Red Son declares it his first ever evil victory.

Till the End of the Moon - Episode 30
Tumblr media
We’re getting into the final stretch of this drama and I have no idea what it will look like at all. For now we’re still having Tantai Jin clinging to his deceased wife even though she didn’t want to ever see him again. As in the beginning, I’m still against this couple, it’s like super toxic.
However, now that I think about it, I think Ye Qingyu is now the king. They said that the king wear a mask because Tantai Jin got really hurt and had bad burns for setting the palace on fire. It wouldn’t be strange that he kept the throne for 500 years if he got Pianran’s longevity. A theory from what they said last episode, though I don’t know how would that bring up anything to the story. But the masks looks like the one of the demon god...
The celestial have a hard time trying to seal away in Huangyuan the demons. Led by the two underlings of the demon god, they want to get back the demonic weapon that Mingye purified in the past as it will lead them to the next demon god. The celestial report that something happened at Susu’s sect. She awakens. And I’m glad they didn’t give her the same stupide hairstyle from the beginning. They congratulate her for succeeding her trial, but when she talks about her mission to the past, they know nothing of it. Of course, because she changed the past so all of that never happened. She caught on fire ten years ago and slept all along since. Gogye Jiwu (used to be Xiao Lin) is weirded out because Susu treated him like a stranger. She’s kind of confused between her different lives. Poor her.
Susu’s father says there’s something off about Susu, her cultivation level actually dropped a lot. The demons are acting weird, they’re worried. One of the elders was sent to the Ruo river and found Tantai Jin.
When he wakes up, he remembers sinking in the Ruo river. Then he connected with the creepy eye weapon that is was too powerful. In his heart, he still has the six nails causing him pain. He’s on the mountain Mingye created. He recognizes the elder as the one Ye Xiwu shower him so he thinks he’s when she should have been alive, not knowing she is still. He wants to leave but the elder prevents him from doing so. He can’t open the gates to the nether river before another 500 years. While he wanders wondering where he should go, he sees Gongye Jiwu and thinks he’s Xiao Lin. Tantai Jin wonders where he’s from, now that he knows that he’s not Xiao Lin and he says that he was adopted by Buxu the immortal. So here’s my theory. That Buxu guy that sent the elder look for Tantai Jin and adopted Gongye Jiwu is no one else but Master Pang. He was good at predicting, it would make sense. And then Gongye Jiwu is Xiao Lin because of whatever master Pang was planning, collecting stuff. The suspense didn’t last for long. Tantai Jin asks to see Buxu in person so he could thank him. He died but created a spell to preserve his consciousness inside a of a golden lotus. Tantai Jin asks to talk to him alone. He asks about Ye Xiwu but to ask him he needs to use a spell from his sect. So he asks to join the cultivation sect.
Li Susu wonders if everything was only a dream, but she meets with Fu Ya, Lan’an’s daughter whom she saved, so she knows everything was real.
Tantai Jin goes on a quest to be accepted in the sect. He has to pretend to be the dead son of a blind old lady that has only seven days left to live. He will do anything to find Ye Xiwu.
Li Susu asks a storyteller to tell her about Tantai Jin. He says that no one knows the name of the girl he loved so much and that they were buried together. So she thinks he kept living and moved on.
Tantai Jin pretends to be the son of the old lady and looks for a way to make her wish come true by making the old cherry tree blossom. But no matter what talisman he tries, nothing seems to work. On the last day, she tells him she knew all along that he isn’t her son. She asks about his family and makes him realize that he shouldn’t become a bad person, even if it could bring back his beloved wife. Then he figures out the way to fulfill her wish. He used the sword he was given to make it bloom. He goes back and ask Zhaoyou to accept him as his disciple. He agrees and gives him a new name. Cang Jiumin. But he won’t say why he chose that name for now.
Li Susu can’t forget about Tantai Jin, but she needs to if she wants to be strong and keep the evil bone sealed away. So she needs to practice the heartless way to try and move on. Gongye Jiwu confesses to her and she politely refuses him, saying that she wants to decide about her husband by herself (sounds like they are engaged). As Xiao Lin, Gongye Jiwu is a super nice gentleman.
And that’s it. Now that Susu has chosen the heartless way, I’m afraid that she’ll become the next demon god... Hopefully if it goes that way, the ending will be satisfying.

Itty Bitty Babysitting
Another fanfic inspired by @smallpwbbles and their Itty AU
A week, it had been a whole week since Tang had brought home the toddler version of MK, Mei and Red Son. A week of learning how to deal with three toddlers all whom still have their powers and barely know how to use them, Red Boy’s bed now consisted of the fire blankets from Pigsy’s kitchen and all the fire-retardant soft stuff they could find [luckily for them most demons like nests and Red Boy was no exception]. It was a very long week of Tang and Pigsy trying every possible way of getting into contact with Monkey King seeing as their only link to the guy was approximately four years old and when asked about how to call him gasped in wonder and squealed “Monkey King is REAL??!”
And when he finally made an appearance because MK had missed his training sessions he sat there listened to Tang and what little information they had gleamed from the three children. Monkey King then looked at the kids; MK and Mei stared back at him just as intensely because holy heck a real-life talking monkey and he’s Monkey King!! Red Boy stood there with an interested mix of ‘fight me bitch’ energy and looking like he wanted nothing more than bolt to the next room.
Said Great Sage equal to Heaven then looked at the two adults and then…shrugged in confusion.
“Ya got me I’ve never seen this before!”
So that’s where they stood right now, their only hope was a being who has been around centuries and seen pretty much everything and they didn’t have a clue either. The only upside was Monkey King might not know how to fix it but he knew plenty of places and people who might and thus Tang would pour over tomes and scrolls he now had access to while Monkey King called in a few favours.
Which left Pigsy…
Pigsy had herded the three children to the local playground, as soon as they got there the kids went running off to clamber onto the jungle gym and monkey bars. Pigsy just hoped none of the other parents noticed that the three had leapt to the top of the jungle gym in a single bound or that the red haired one just claimed the entire thing has territory for the demon bull family.
Hoping that this meant that the kids would burn up some of that youthful energy Pigsy sat down on the bench and watched them, his mind wandering to the problem at hand. It had been a week of sleepless nights because of worrying about the kids and these thoughts that had plagued since they had arrived in this state.
What had happened to them to cause this? It had to powerful enough to affect all three especially so when you consider that this was Mei a descendent of dragons, Red Son who is a demon prince and MK who was the next Monkey King!
It stressed Pigsy sick when he thought about their memories, they found out that their memories hadn’t reverted as such but had become mixed with who they were and who they used to be as children. MK calls Pigsy ‘Dadsy’ and Tang ‘papa Tang’ but they hadn’t adopted MK till he was in his late teens so it made no sense for baby MK to be calling them that. MK would also hid food and treasured toys or scoff his food quickly as if he expected it to be taken away at any minute, and how he would be quiet all the time and would run off and hide at any raised voices.
Mei didn’t seem phased by this at all and had assumed that Pigsy and Tang were her latest au pairs which made Pigsy wonder how much involvement Mei’s parents had in her early life.
Then there was Red Son, he swung wildly from ‘I am a prince and you will obey!’ attitude to getting upset and trying to hide the fact that MK had woken up crying one night from a nightmare and took to standing between Tang and the still sobbing MK saying stuff like “he’s ok! He’s not weak please don’t punish him!” or when Tang had to convince him to come sit at the table at meal times but Red Boy got confused at this and explained that he can’t sit with the family till he deserved it.
Clearly these kids had…mixed childhoods and it made Pigsy wonder if they should get the three to talk about it once everything was fixed which led to Pigsy wondering…
What if this was permanent?
Like it would be bad enough if they had to go through puberty again [jeez he wouldn’t wish that on anyone] but given MK now had ‘immortality’ magic bleeding into him through Monkey King and Red Son being a freaking demon what if they were stuck in this childhood limbo?
“Hey Dadsy?”
“Yeah?” Pigsy grunted seeing MK in front of him.
Oh man what was he going to say to Mei’s parents? Its only a matter of time before they notice her missing! How are they going to explain this?
“Red’s mom come to pick him up and had invited us over for tea, is that okay?”
Oh God Red Son’s parents!! Pigsy blanched at that, if Red Son’s behaviour was anything to go by, he did not want to be the one to go up to his folks and say ‘hi your son’s a helpless baby again and we can’t change him back…please don’t mistreat him this time?”
Yeah right…
“Dadsy?”
“Yeah, sure thing kid you go play, okay?” he grunted absently, in his defence Pigsy hadn’t had a good night sleep in days and had thought MK was talking about playing pretend. So, when he was suddenly buffered by an unnatural wind, he leapt to his feet to see Princess Iron Fan smirking at him and MK, Mei and Red Boy waving happily before they vanish into thin air…
Oh, Tang was going to kill him!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If Pigsy hadn’t come rushing back looking so stressed out, sullen and distraught Monkey King would have killed him but he could see that the pig man was beating himself up enough as it was.
Monkey King had opted to go rescue the kids after all this was his thing, wasn’t it? Saving people from demonic capture was pretty much half of his stories. But here he had to be careful Demon Bull King knew that his sworn brother was going to come in guns blazing and probably had Mei and MK close by so he can use them as hostages when needed. So, Sun Wukong was going the sneaky route, changing into houseflies and mice to get by the Bull Clones and checking every room for potential threats and possible hostage hiding places, he needed to be quiet, focussed and stealthy.
Then he heard MK scream…
Fuck. Stealth.
Monkey King honed in on the sound and rushed forward barrelling past Bull Clones and drop kicking the throne room thick ceremonial doors open with a loud resounding boom.
Only to see MK’s limp body being tossed through the air, Monkey King felt his hearts stop and his body freeze with a horrifying numbing terror only parents will ever know. Demon Bull King caught the tiny body with his giant claws that encased them…
And then…
Giggling could be heard from inside and MK poked his head out.
“Again again!” he laughed “I wanna go higher!”
“Hey no fair its my turn!” Mei exclaimed.
Monkey King finally remembered to breath and looked at the room in full, now that he wasn’t focused on MK, he could see Mei sitting on the armrest of Demon Bull King’s throne and Red Boy was sitting on his father’s shoulder beaming happily. Princess Iron Fan sat on her throne watching all this passively with a small smile on her face.
“I told you my daddy is the best daddy!” he boasted.
“Nah ah!” MK countered sagely “I have two daddies and one cooked awesome meals and the other tells coolest stories so there!”
“I thought you had three daddies?” Mei asked as Demon Bull King picked her up smiling to himself as he listened to the deep philological debates only little children could have.
“Yeah, well I want Monkey King to be my dad but I don’t think it works like that!” MK wondered.
“Make him your dad!” Red Son cried “If you do that would make us cousins! Right daddy?” Red Son looked at his father who nodded and Red Son giggled excitedly at the prospects.
“Yes, but I wonder what your uncle would think about that…hmm? Brother Wukong?” Demon Bull King hummed and looked at the monkey whose brain was still trying to process that a] his kid wasn’t dead or dying and b] his kid wants to be HIS kid…
“Hi Monkey King!” MK squealed and tried to clamber down but had forgotten how freaking tall Red Son’s daddy was, luckily said Demon Bull King picked him and gently placed him on the ground. MK then ran over to Monkey King and hugged his legs.
“Did you know that Red’s daddy was that big? Or that Red lives in an underground castle! Oh, and he has all these cool robot servants and they’re brought us milkshakes and…” Monkey King let him rambled on and listened as he glared at his sworn Brother Ox who just gave a shit eating smirk.
Red Son was now hugging his dad’s neck and Mei was clambering up to him which made Monkey King think of those kittens that climbed up people’s clothes to get places.
“So, do you wish to stay for supper as well Sun Wukong?” the demon king asked politely as he took Mei off him and placed her on the floor. “While we eat, we can talk about the importance of communicating between parents…”
It finally clicked for Monkey King.
“This is revenge for keeping you in the dark all week, isn’t it?”
“A harmless prank I assure you, after all I wouldn’t stoop as low as to hurting children let alone the ones my son had become so attached to. Must admit it was interesting seeing you sweat for a few seconds there…”
Monkey King gave a growl but crossed his arms in a huff. He knew that Demon Bull King wouldn’t stoop to hurting little kids he was all about getting victories by conquering and winning battles, you can’t exactly claim a proud victory from squashing two toddlers. Yes, he may have brought chaos, mayhem and destruction and had a temper that rivalled volcanoes but he was a sucker around babies.
“Now children why don’t you go and get washed up and we’ll see about supper” Princess Iron Fan declared which the three children responded with laughs and squeals at the idea of having tea in a castle. As the two brothers followed them Demon Bull King looked to Sun Wukong.
“Tell me brother” he said in a low voice “What. Happened?”

How to become a Demon Ruler 101
After getting adopted by the Demon King * better known as Diavolos dad *, you get sent to the demon prince castle.
There you are supposed to get your proper education from your new adoptive brother and his butler.
  Gn. Reader insert
------------------------
Being summoned to the Devildom out of nowhere is a massive shock to say it lightly.
Yet here I am standing in front of a huge throne in a massive room. An equally impressive man sitting on the throne.
His sheer presence demands my full attention.
I can only swallow my saliva. I'm sure that my life is over.
The demon stares at me, my body naturally trembles.
When he opens his mouth, I hold my breath in anticipation. "Mortal child, I have summoned you here in order to adopt you. Henceforth you shall be recognized as my heir and potential future ruler of this realm." His voice almost shakes the foundation of the room.
My mouth starts moving almost on its own. Before I realized it, words spilled from my mouth. "Wait a moment; I'm an adult. I already have a life in the human world and ruler of the underworld? Do I get no say in this?"
I instantly regret my big mouth. Feeling like his gaze burns a hole through me.
"I have already decided. I'm not concerned about your options. You will stay with my son and will be properly instructed by him. I wish to see results or else I will replace you with someone more capable." His words echo in the huge room.
I know what this implies, I have to play along or I will be dead.
And so in a single moment my whole world is turned upside down.
Without any further explanation I once more find myself in a completely new environment.
This also appears to be a castle or at least an enormous mansion, at least by judging the interior.
I stare in awe at the place, feeling overwhelmed by this whole ordeal.
At this moment I notice a slightly concerned looking man staring at me. Normally I would find this rude, but he is very handsome, so I let it slide.
He gives me the brightest of smiles. Is it possible this day isn't all terrible?
"Welcome to my castle. My name is Diavolo and according to my father we are now siblings. I know this must be a lot to take in, but I'm sure we will get along just fine." Diavolo seems to take this new development pretty easy.
I wonder if he is used to antics like these. Maybe his father pulls stunts like this all the time?
"Hello… To be completely honest I would rather just go back home but I assume that is not an option." I feel a bit wary of him, despite his seemingly welcoming attitude.
Diavolo has an otherworldly feel to him that I can't quite pinpoint, but I'm certain that he is a demon.
"My father can be quite hard headed at times. I know he means well, though. It's been my dream to make our realms come closer, for an extremely long time. I guess this is just how my father decided to help with that." Diavolo sounds nonchalant about this whole situation.
I'm unsure what I can even say to that logic. "Was it necessary to kidnap me?"
"I'm certain there must be better methods but it's too late for that now. Regardless, I'm pretty thrilled to have a little sibling now. So let's do our best to get along." Diavolo smiles at me, bright as the sun.
Somehow I get swept away by his beaming smile and friendly behavior. "Sure, let's do that."
Diavolo seems extremely pleased by my answer, and his smile somehow gets even more beaming.
At this point I start wondering if he might be secretly an angel but I keep that to myself.
"Barbatos will you show my sibling their room?" Diavolo speaks to someone behind me.
I turn my head and am surprised by a man right behind me. I had not noticed him at all. I'm unsure if I should be terrified or impressed.
"Of course, my lord. Please follow me, young liege." Barbatos turns to me with a courteous smile. It's easy to see that he is the butler of my new brother.
It's very hard to say no to this, so I simply give Diavolo a slight bow and follow after Barbatos.
He escorts me deeper into the castle, it looks like a confusing maze to me.
I look in awe at the new scenery. I still can't comprehend that I will stay here.
Then Barbatos stops in front of a door.
I practically run into him.
He opens the door and motions to me to follow him.
Carefully I step inside of the room, unsure what I should expect. The room is extremely luxurious. Even the curtains look more expensive than my entire previous house.
The bed is big enough for at least five people and there are two other doors in the room.
"This is your room. You should be able to find whatever you require. You have your own private bathroom and dressing room. In addition you have a private study, small library and a room to meet with your guests." Barbatos explains everything very calmly.
I hope that I don't have a foolish expression on my face right now. My mind is completely vacant. "Is all of this really for me?" I look at Barbatos, still waiting for someone to wake me up from this dream.
"Yes indeed. You should rest a little until dinner time. I'm sure all of this is quite a lot for you to handle." Barbatos is smiling as usual but I feel like I can see a twinkle of kindness. Maybe I'm just imagining it.
"Alright, umm what kind of clothes should I wear for dinner?" I honestly feel lost and hope they don't expect me to wear some uncomfortable fancy clothes.
"You can keep wearing your current attire but I also supplied your dressing room with some essentials. I know the collection is still relatively lacking, but I was in a bit of a bind since we only heard about your arrival today. I'm sure you will find something that is to your liking." Barbatos seems slightly upset, as if he failed by only getting essentials. Honestly, I can't even start imagining what he finds essential.
“I'm sure that I will find something to wear.” I try to reassure him.
Barbatos looks relieved. "I will let you rest now but please don't hesitate to call me if you find anything missing or have any questions."
I'm about to ask if he will hear me but then I remember that he is a demon and decide to just accept it.
Barbatos silently leaves the room.
Unsure what to do, I stand in the room for a few moments.
Next I decide to look at my new clothes. I hope that Barbatos' work attire is a good sign for his general taste in clothes.
With trembling hands I open the door to the dressing room. It's massive and filled with clothes.
My eyes are wide open. I'm convinced that I forgot to breathe for about a minute.
The sheer amount of clothing is absolutely overwhelming.
Everything looks perfect, so perfect it's kinda scary.
I just step backward and close the door. I'm definitely not prepared for any of these.
In the end I stay in the clothes that are on my body. Barbatos said this would be fine after all.
I look around a bit, but I'm kinda frightened to touch anything and just awkwardly sit down on the bed.
It's extremely soft and comfortable. I wasn't expecting it to be this nice.
I lay down and just enjoy the soft comfort of my new bed for a bit, well at least that's the plan.
    - I still haven't decided who the end goal here is. Well it's a ride for sure.

My Brother's Keeper
Tumblr media
Things have been going well for the Family at Spider Miles. I continue to make plans to invade underground trades deeper within the Grand Line, the money is pouring in, and I have learned that Dressrosa has become ripe for the Donquixote lineage to return where we belong. I smile whenever I think of this land, as it is mine by right of my birth.
Those fools at Mariejois thought to take my royalty from me when they cast me from heaven, but my family ruled that land long before the Celestial Dragons became what they are now. Taking back this nation will be the first piece in shoving my bloodline down their fat, self-righteous throats!  Finally, I shall be acknowledged as the king that I was born to be and can stop living in this trash heap. I can begin to provide more for my family and to give them all they deserve!
A part of me thinks that everything is lies, but I ignore these troubling thoughts. My family loves me and have been here for me since I was ten years old. My brother has come back to me and stands at my right hand. How can it be anything other than perfect?
It is what I have always dreamed of. And now with Law here, my little family somehow feels complete. Not that I would love the other children less. That is why I gave them devil fruits to make them stronger, just as Trebol did for me. It’s what you do for those you care for. You give them ways to protect themselves and those they love, as well as the power to take revenge on those who hurt them. To make them invincible to the world!
There’s a small feeling of uneasiness in the back of my mind as I think of Trebol. The voices like to mock me, saying that he is using me. However, I know he loves and worships me. Without him, I would have died years ago… Right? I shake my head to clear the unwelcome feeling and refocus my attention on Law.
I haven’t really seen him around since the other night at dinner. I can feel the frown deepen on my face as I remember the cruel way some of the others treated the boy. I have been gathering devil fruits and either using them, or selling them for a while now, but there is one that I have been unable to reach that would be of great use, I think.
The Ope Ope no Mi. The power of this fruit would undoubtedly save his life and would allow him to heal others. He was already training to be a doctor with his biological family. Maybe he will allow me to adopt him into my family and continue his education. Once I find that fruit, Law will be unstoppable. He will be my successor. My own son. The smile on my face practically hurts, but I do not remember having been this happy before. Not even before my family broke when we left heaven.
I call for Machvise and Giolla to go and find him for me before going into my room to read. I take off my glasses and drink some wine to try and relax after a long day. I do not even notice the world beginning to fade away when suddenly I am there again.
I can feel my body struggle against the villagers, but the flames are hot against my skin! The ropes are again digging into my flesh and the blood is pounding in my ears. The pain is so much! Please make it stop! I can sense the arrow loosed towards my brother when the power wrenches from my stomach.
The next thing I know, I am again in my room, covered in sweat, and I can’t breathe. I lean forward, gasping for air, but the tightness in my chest will not relax. I reach for my sunglasses, and though they bring me some relief, the bottle of wine next to them is a welcome sight. I grab the bottle and begin to drink without even bothering to use my glass. Anything to drown the memories and thoughts that come from these nightmares. I don’t even care how I must look right now. For a moment I wonder what it was that brought this on after so many months of being free from this problem.
However, as the world comes back into focus, my attention is taken from my musing and I notice what must have woken me. The transponder snail keeps his incessant ringing until I pick up the receiver. Ah. It seems they have found Law. I throw down the bottle and the sound of breaking glass barely even registers. I will have Baby 5 come clean it up later, as I have far more important things to attend to now.
Once I make my way into one of our common areas, I see that Rosinante is already there. He looks at me and appears to get up to leave. I shake my head at him and smile. “Please stay, brother. I would like you here for this.”
He nods and pulls out a cigarette. I reach over to light it for him to ensure he does not set himself on fire again. As I watch him take a drag, I smile softly. He is truly my light and the one to save me from myself. We are the same and I know that he will take my pain and save me from these demons that constantly scream in my head. I was so lost before he returned to me. I wonder if he felt lost too?
I am about to tell him my plans for Law, as I want him to understand how important it will be for me to have a son to carry on the Donquixote legacy. I know my brother doesn’t like children, but if he would just give Law a chance, I know he would see the same thing I do! He would see the same piece in him that is in us. The same pain, the same potential, the same power…
I go to say something to my brother when there is movement at the door and my family has returned with Law carried between them. He looks angry, but that is nothing new. I smile at the boy and watch as they tossed him to the ground. I glared at the two of them and let a piece of my haki catch their attention. Apparently, they did not understand my intentions the other night at dinner. Well, at least after this moment, Law’s place here will be undeniably clear.
“Law, I called you in for just one thing. I’ve decided to welcome you to the Donquixote family officially.” I sat back and genuinely enjoyed watching Law’s mouth drop open in shock. I’m not sure why he thought he had been summoned before me, but I know he did not expect this. I was expecting some push back from my family, but fortunately they seemed to be happy for the boy and are congratulating him.
I feel like I should explain myself to him. He is, after all, going to be my son in all but blood. “Because you went through such a horrible experience, you got that incomparable hateful look in your eyes.” I look into his eyes. “You have the quality.”
Giolla puts her hand on his head and begins fawning over the boy while going on about my “vision”, but he seems to reject her assessment, bringing up his illness. The voices are clamoring within my mind, but I don’t care because this is such a happy day for me! I’m going to have a son and I will raise and protect him. I will give him a place in ten years as my legacy to the world, so how would I ever let him die?
I begin to laugh and tell him it depends on his luck, though I know it has nothing to do at all with luck. He was destined to become the son of a god. I have the blood of celestial dragons in me, whether the fools at Mariejois were willing to let me and my brother back into heaven or not. The voices and that power are swelling inside my core and I am beginning to become overwhelmed in it all.
I told Law about the devil fruits and that there are types that could heal him, though I did not mention the exact one I have in mind for him. That will come for later. I also told him that in ten years I want him for my second in command. I know that the boy is still skittish and very prideful. I want him to build bonds with me and the other family members before I push him too fast. I’ve already given him a lot of information, so I will see if he will grasp the opportunity presented to him.
At that moment Rosinante begins to cough and my attention is taken away from Law. As I look towards my brother, I suddenly feel like all the air has been sucked from my lungs and the smile is wiped from my face. I force myself to stay calm as I see blood covering Rosi’s side.
For the slightest of moments, even the voices have gone completely silent and everything is numb inside at the sight of his shirt soaked in dark red liquid, though he appears to be trying to hide the spot beneath his hand. In the back of my mind, the only thought I can form is that the villagers got my brother with their arrows. My brother is going to die!
At that thought, a hurricane unleashes inside me and the demons begin to howl and rage! Who would dare to harm my precious baby brother? Do they not realize that he is descended from gods? I fight back the swarming madness and keep my face calm, but my fists clench from the efforts and my frown deepens. When I ask Rosi what happened, I am surprised to hear how controlled my voice sounds.
He writes a note to say that an enemy has done this to him, but it does nothing to quell the tempest that is beginning to storm within me. I can feel the violence within me increasing as I picture the vengeance I plan on taking on whoever did this to my brother. I will make an example of them that the whole world will know to not fuck with my family!
I ask if he took care of them, just to try and get more information from him. I don’t understand why he didn’t say anything to me in the first place. Perhaps when he sees how I rip this enemy to shreds with my strings, and pull the flesh from their bones slowly while they bleed out and scream for hours, he will then understand how much I love him? I would do anything to keep him safe and punish anyone that would dare harm him! He can trust me to save him, just as he’s saving me. We are family, and that's what you do!
He answers me by writing that he finished the enemy off. The pressure on my heart relaxes and I calm the thoughts that torment me, but the wound still bothers me. I can’t lose my brother. “That’s good. Get it treated, okay?” is all I trust myself to say at that moment.
I reach over to pat Rosi on the shoulder and look once more at Law. He looks like he’s in shock, perhaps at my offer to raise him to be my heir? This makes my heart swell with pride, but I can’t deal with my brother’s pain at this moment and don’t dwell on it long. I can feel myself begin to slip into the darkness again and need to go out for some air. I ask Giolla to get medical attention for my brother as I pass her on my way out, and she responds she will get someone right away. I thank her and move on quickly past the others.
As I move to one of my favorite spots to sit on the rails outside of the buildings, I watch the waves crash against the garbage on the shores and try to breathe. I know that my brother can take care of himself, but when I look at him, I see my moth… I see her and I just want to protect him with everything I have. I lost him once and will not lose him again!
The voices began to scream again that he was lying to me and wanted me dead, but I pushed them aside and continued to watch the waves. I know my brother loves me. He is my heart and my salvation. One day, I know we are going to rule the world together.

With the heart in his hands
Credits and dedicated to @deep-in-mind67  Thank you for your art and Malik! I hope you like it and @ravenfan1242 so beautiful and kind.
Stay safe and fight for justice.
He had heard stories about fatherhood, men looking with love at their children, feeling that they had gained a precious treasure, could change their lives forever. They promised that they would protect them, it was like a roar inside, something beautiful and unexpected and they would never be the same again. It marked a before and after.
Damian never had that. His mother was a murderer, a cold-eyed woman who was used to every day being a struggle. A part of him assumed that she had loved him in a twisted and dominant way. She loved him the same way you treat a valuable object, she worried when he strayed from the path they had carved out for his life, and his grandfather was a man who put himself in a high position, always forcing him to look up and disguising his dominance and control under discourses on belonging and devotion. Damian thought it was the best he had and if he ever faced the world it would be for Ra's Al Ghul, they both left him at some point in his childhood. Then, his father came, who is someone who dedicated his life to a city consumed by crime and corruption, lived in an eternal search for justice that consumed everything around him, including his own family. thought it was the best he had and if he ever faced the world it would be for Ra's Al Ghul, they both left him at some point in his childhood. Then, his father came, who is someone who dedicated his life to a city consumed by crime and corruption, lived in an eternal search for justice that consumed everything around him, including his own family. Bruce Wayne watches him with love and earns his appreciation, but he will never be his top priority, just as he was not for Talia and Ra’s Al Ghul.
He has never complained about his life. Complaining and lamenting is for the weak, and Damian Wayne would never be either, but he wants to have better references for his son, so he could hold him in his arms without feeling like an idiot.
Damian can maneuver all the weapons in the world, assemble and destroy any object using only his intellect, but his three-week-old baby was different.
He had been gone for two weeks. Just over five days after the birth of his son, as he had to train the new killers for the league, which involved intensive preparation before the new recruits joined the League of the Assassins and he trusted no one but himself, but that had separated him from his family. Two weeks might not be long, yet it was long enough for his son not to recognize him.
Damian knew it, but Raven insisted there were other reasons why he cried when he got close. Still amazed at her ability to do her homework and tend to their son, Raven is caring and dedicated, in a way that makes him envy her and wonder what would have happened if she stayed instead of attending to her duties as head of the League of Assassins.
Looking out the window, the snow falls, and that morning in the Himalayas the wind sounds like the roar of an angry leopard. Damian had had a quiet night. Since it was Raven who took care of the baby by letting him sleep after he appeared last night acknowledging his tiredness, secretly thanking her, since he would not know how to recognize the requests of his son.
He is sitting on the bed drinking tea with a slice of lemon and brown sugar, it is a family drink, but the situation is different. He would be missing fingers to count the times he has had tea looking at the landscape with Raven at his side. They would simply lean against each other in silence, he would be full of secrets and confessions. He had never felt that way with another person, but the space between the two now a new person fills it.
Titus sleeps near the fireplace. Alfred the cat who had been adopted a few months ago was lying a few meters from them, curled up with green eyes fixed on the couple and the baby, as if watching them.
The room is warm, the fireplace is lit with a low fire and looks like an island of warmth in the middle of winter. There is an intricately patterned rug in gold tones that they had chosen together a few years ago, and the bed was comfortable with no exorbitant luxuries. Different from what the Demon Head would be thought to have, but this room in Nanda Parbat was a corner of privacy; no one would disturb them here. There are little memories imprinted on these four walls, secret moments and reminiscent of the engagement ring that they keep in a drawer that they never used. They don't need it, they don't have to wait for white dresses, bouquets and altars.
I don't want a ceremony. Raven had confessed after his proposal and had felt the disappointment and pain hit her face as if a bucket of cold water had been thrown at her refusal. My father played the ceremonies with my mother and ended in evil. I don't need a ceremony, protocol and jewelry, just ... need you, Damian Wayne.
Damian had understood her, her reasons were clear and for a person like Raven with a tragic past involving rituals and ceremonies it was easy to understand her rejection of marriage, it was not a refusal to be together. It was at that moment when the lights were off, her eyes were illuminated by the faint moonlight that appeared from the window and he analyzed the features of his girlfriend and realized that they did not require names or labels. The curtains rose and the room was dark as night lit up, like a new dawn and he swore no one would make him feel this way.
Peril of hope, resonates in his head, but it is only the name of a poem, since this is very real and he would share his entire life with her. It is not an illusion, it is not a promise that was taken by a glow that would change the world, this is their future. They could be two stars that orbit around each other, finding some point in their lives.
There are more hopeless futures.
Damian had lived his entire life with third-party plans for his life. Promising that they would bring out the best for him and put out all his thoughts of having an everyday life. He accepted it and raised his head, like a winner, but everything that surrounded Raven was soft and his life was imprinted with small moments in which he was surprised of himself, of the words that come out of his mouth when they are talking and of the actions that he dedicates. He had become accustomed to being with Raven, now he needs to learn to take care of their child.
Damian wants to be a better father.
"You know I'm empathetic, right?"
Observes his girlfriend. His eyes are fixed on his son, the baby is lying on the bed, on top of a small cloth in a pastel tone and he is amazed at how small he is. He is wearing bluish clothes, a miniature hat that drops dark strands like the tar, his skin is of a golden tone very similar to his; He would like to see aspects of Raven, but he looks a lot like him.
It is puzzling.
Looking at his son leaves him stunned. He can't take his eyes off each time he meets him and wonders how he could conceive of something so beautiful, innocent and pure; It makes him feel like a dirty person when he touches him, because he has taken lives. His life was full of authoritarian figures, how could he be what he deserves?
"I can feel your emotions, Damian Wayne," Raven reminds him. She leans towards the baby; he watches him move his little hands. Squeezes her little finger, holding on as if his life depended on it, and it seems like such an alien scene, he feels like a spy. She makes it look so easy. "It's not easy for me either", she whispers, and Damian is surprised. "Some days I think I won't be able to, that I'm not enough for someone who watches me with so much love and devotion and a person like me doesn't deserve a family" Raven adjusts her clothes. Even if he doesn't need her and the baby moans, but he is silent when he hears her voice and watches her with his eyes wide open, as if something about his mother's face had surprised him greatly "but I have him".
He remains silent.
"I was born with a purpose. It would be a door to destroy worlds. There was no other future for me, and my mother sometimes observed me as a stranger realizing my powers… You know my relationship with my father" She looked away. The baby grimaced and clenched his hands into two perfect fists as if the mention of his maternal grandfather would displease him. She ran her fingers over his palms, relaxing her son's hands, just like she did when she thought he needed to relax. "I feared for many things, but not for this. Not from Malik. "
The name echoed in his head and its meaning could not fit better, his son could be the king of their hearts. Damian had inadvertently given him a part of his heart ever since he learned of his existence.
Raven strokes Malik's small foot covered in a woolen sock "You're afraid".
He crossed his arms. One part yelled at him that this was not the case, but it was no use arguing because it is the truth.
Instinctively he moved to be by her side as if to demonstrate with actions that this was not the case, but it was useless because as soon as his son saw him, he began to complain and his mouth twisted into a grimace that threatened to cry.
He was about to get up and leave, in order not to disturb his baby. All his theories about what he considered a stranger were confirmed, but Raven stopped him with a glance and he remained in his place on the bed as if supported by a rope on the edge of the precipice.
He clenched his fists on the blanket covering the bed and watched as she carried Malik who was crying. The boy twisted in her arms and continued to complain, but now he was silent because he was being breastfed.
Alfred the cat yawns and turns his back on them, falling into a deep sleep.
Damian grimaces, wants to be more helpful and not just sit around not knowing what to do. He brushes her hair away so that she could breastfeed more comfortably. Stroking her shoulders with a massage, and Raven sighs intently at her son when he decides he's had enough.
Malik is looking at him now.
"Hold him" He almost protested, but by then she had already put him in his arms.
His eyes fell on Malik, the baby was looking at him with a frown and he wonders how someone so small can do such a thing. His eyebrows are black and thick, it seems that he was analyzing him, checking if they had a similarity or not.
He's light, barely weighs in his arms, and let’s Raven guide his hands holding his head and back. His hands are big compared to his baby, he was full of calluses and he is afraid to break him from the pressure, he seems fragile and is so small ...
"Just relax".
He lets out a breath, and she abandons him completely, but is looking at him.
Malik is still frowning. For the first time in weeks they look into each other's eyes. His son has green eyes with purple specks, as if two jewels had fused inside his iris and he is giving it different meanings, he invents theories and processes.
This is a different kind of love, one that almost filled his eyes with tears and would travel the world if this being asked him, but he also feels impure, not worthy of his son.
He doesn't deserve it.
"He looks like you," Damian says, wanting to break the order of his thoughts. He concentrates on his slightly bluish hair, it catches the light and turns it into a bluish glow, he wants to think that something so beautiful belongs to Raven and not to him. "He has your features."
She lets out a snort that sounds like tongue-in-cheek laughter, gently runs a hand down the baby's chubby cheek and he tries to capture his fingers to hold on to them.
"You are kidding, right?" Damian does not stop observing the face of his son, but he is listening to her. Trying to find places that belonged to Raven, the shape of the eyes, the subtly upturned nose and the way she clung to someone. "He looks like you", Raven leans closer and leans her head against his shoulder. "Malik has your features and expressions, he frowns just like you, he clenches his fingers into a fist when he feels threatened, he usually growls when he is irritated. He is serious and he has your temperament", she enumerates" Someone help us", she jokes.
Damian smiles to himself, tries to find everything she had said about their baby.
He has his eyes, the elongated shape marked by the lashes is his. Damian recognizes the tan tone of his skin, the eyebrows widened in the middle and he almost seems to see traits of his father that have touched Malik. See’s how his lips twist into a grimace, he has a small mouth and with each babble a dimple is marked on his right cheek.
Raven has no dimples.
How can someone like him make something so beautiful?
"This is our life now." She kisses him on the chin, he almost leans towards the touch of her lips and wonders how he has been able to deprive himself of this for two weeks, he would never have enough. "We can do it" He smiles at her. "Even if we are wrong, we always try to make the best of each other".
His mouth drops open as he watches Malik yawn and close his eyes in his arms preparing to sleep. He fights against unconsciousness as if he doesn't want to miss this moment and almost rolls his eyes with grace to see how he insists on staying awake.
"You have to sleep" he whispers to him. His voice is in a tone that he never hoped to ever use, different from the voices of the authority figures who had ruled his life, it is charged with sweetness and brotherly love. He guides one of his fingers towards his small hands, he clings to his index finger and is strong "You must have had a long day".
Raven smiles placing a kiss on his shoulder.
"A tired day for a three-week-old baby."
He rolls his eyes, prefers to focus on his son who opens his eyes every time they are talking and babbles, as if he wants to participate in the conversation.
"You have to go to sleep, Malik."
The baby closes his eyes, allowing himself to be overcome by sleep, a thread of saliva comes out of his mouth and he smiles. Raven wipes the saliva with a piece of cloth and is laughing.
"I can't believe he has that about you, too."
"What?"
"You also drool when you sleep. Don't worry, I haven't told anyone. "
 "Intelligent" he murmurs.
He gathers his son in his arms, he sleeps with his head resting against his shoulder and feels his breath against his neck. It reminds of someone.
"You do this."
Raven raises an eyebrow as she folds Malik's clothes down onto a piece of furniture. "What?" She asks absentmindedly.
He clears his throat "You hide your head on my neck when we are sleeping, Malik does the same".
A smile appears on Raven's lips and she feels that she is complete.
In his past he never imagined that he would have a partner. That he would be willing to wait for her and give in, fight against the whole world for Raven. He always thought that love is an idea in collective thought, it was a deal, that if he were with someone it would be to get resources or benefits of any kind. He thought that if he had children it would be so that his bloodline would remain.
Here he is years later wanting to share his life with someone beyond contracts. Wanting to burn formalities in front of institutions and authorities, accepting this force of gravity in the form of a person that she was, holding his son in his arms vowing to protect him and would do anything to keep a smile on his child's lips like a deity promise.
"We've had so many wounds and scars," Raven whispers. Their eyes are fixed on Malik and both join their hands, intertwining their fingers. "Sometimes I feel like I will open my eyes and it will be a disaster again."
Damian says nothing but understands her. He feels the same way.
He watches his son, who is sleeping, hiding his face in his neck. His breathing is the flapping of the wings of a bird. He is so small and fragile, his chest rises and he does think that in his life he has performed acts that he has never thought about doing much more now, he leans forward and places a kiss on his forehead. Presses his lips on his forehead, feels how he relaxes in his gesture and finds himself smiling.
Maybe he would live his whole life thinking he didn't deserve this, but he's willing to explore that kind of love that couldn't hurt and makes him feel like a better person. One who would build a family and swears he won't see the same thing that marked him, in his infancy. His Malik, his child in his arms, paints his future in green and purple, just like his eyes.
Raven leans in, sighs against his shoulder and wishes she was nowhere else but here.

Makino runs a bar – this is common knowledge to anyone who has ever visited Foosha.
She’s always behind the counter or at serving drinks, all with a kind smile and a laugh at hijinks. No one misbehaves, and there’s a shiny new gun behind the counter for any unwanted visitors.
(Rumor has it a pirate taught her how to shoot.)
She a barmaid and a bar tender and a bar owner – anything really. The Party Bar is her pride and joy.
And left over from her mother, a generation previous, it is her information hub as well.
People come in from all sorts of places for the taste of beers delivered directly by Vice Admiral hands and homebrews from the other side of the island. With them they bring stories, and tales, and wanted posters, secrets about criminals Makino has never known and praise for villains she never wants to meet. Alcohol loosens lips, and it’s an easy task to ask the right questions to get the right answers.
Makino’s smart. She knows the power she holds with all the information locked tight in her brain. She sends letters to Garp, sometimes, to warn about an upcoming raid on some poor island, and smiles at the news of the Hero of the Navy saving yet another place.
(She calls Shanks sometimes, to hear his voice, and to tell him that some upstart is planning on challenging him, to tell him that the Marines are planning some ambush but its only rookies, really, to tell him that she misses him and Luffy isn’t in Foosha much now a days, so can’t he come visit?
He doesn’t. But that’s okay.)
Wanted posters find their way onto the Party Bar’s walls, for one reason or another. A nice young man who tipped well, off to becoming a pirate, or a couple of scoundrels smacked down by Garp the Fist himself. Shanks is there, serious faced over a hefty bounty, with the rest of the crew smiling alongside him.
(A spot is reserved on the other wall for the bounty of three young to-be pirates – she can’t wait to see how high their bounties soar.)
It’s not often Makino looks through them, but then she meets Ace, whose face is so similar to one she has known before – one who smiled at her and gave her a hug when her mother didn’t bother paying attention to her.
Makino visit’s Luffy’s brothers, and cries, just a little bit, when she gets home.
Luffy is so happy but someone dear is gone.
-
Garp keeps secrets when he wants to but Makino knows how to get them out of him. A drop of knowledge here, a drink there, a smile, a private place with no prying ears, and the mention of grandsons is all it takes for the tears to well up in his eyes and for the words to spill out.
Ace, his first grandson’s name is, adopted or not, Portgas D. Ace –
All the information Makino wanted, really, but Garp keeps on talking –
Gol D. Ace, son of the Pirate King –
And Makino’s heart shatters.
(Like any bar, the Party Bar receives its fair share of unruly customers, those with cruel words on their tongues and hatred for people they have never met.
The Son of the King? They say, referring to the only king that ever really mattered. Hope he doesn’t exist! Should kill 'em if he does, sins of the father, right? Drown him at birth, noose around the neck, whatever works! Kid will turn out to be just as bad as his bastard father!)
Ace has demons in his eyes. Makino knows why.
-
Ace proudly calls himself Portgas D. Ace, so Makino has hope, and she loves this boy because he is Ace, the one who Luffy calls brother and the one who makes Luffy less lonely, and because Ace is a child and deserves love no matter what she thinks.
She works past the lump in her heart, when she gets home from that conversation from Garp, and opens the chest in her room.
(Tears drip from her eyes and the Party Bar is closed for the day, but that doesn’t matter.
Whatever has, in the face of this bloodline?)
-
Makino was seven when the woman came into town. She was the most beautiful woman Makino had ever seen, gliding into port with hair the color of morning skies and a dash of freckles across her cheek. A flower rose in her hair, vibrant and beautiful, and her smile changed her face into something different, something Makino wished she had. She was pregnant but didn’t stumble under the weight of her still small belly, and instead stood tall and imposing, almost as tall as Garp.
Portgas D. Rouge came into port like a storm and exited like a whisper
“Child,” she had said to the only one at port that day, Makino, playing in the waves. “Where is everyone?”
“At the bar,” Makino told her blindly, because Foosha was small and had no need for anyone to be wary of strangers.
(The era of pirates was beginning today after all.)
“The Pirate King is being executed – everyone’s watching it.”
It was strange, how people’s faces broke at the strangest things.
“My name is Rouge,” the woman introduced herself. “Will you take me to the bar?”
“Sure.” And Makino did.
(She grabbed Makino’s outstretched hand when Makino lead her to the bar, and didn’t let go when they were inside. Makino didn’t mind (her mother never held her hand anymore). Eventually, the woman, Rouge, lifted her up and placed her on her hip, so she could see the Pirate King.
(He looked big, up on that stage. Who could ever kill him?)
They stood in the back of the bar as Roger shouted his last words – You want my treasure? You can have it! I left everything I gathered together in one place. Now you'll just have to find it! – and an era was born with the death of one man.
Rouge cried when it happened, and Makino didn’t know why. She was smiling though, still smiling that beautiful smile she gave Makino, so she figured it was alright even as tears dripped from her face onto Makino’s hair.
She clung tighter to Rouge, hoping to give her some comfort.
(Hoping she could make this woman happy again.)
It worked, as they left the bar where people were cheering, screaming, at the death of a King. Rouge smiled and her tears mixed with the salt spray from the beach, as she and Makino played in the sand.
Rouge stayed for a week, playing with Makino and giving her more attention than anyone else ever did. She left a flower in her hair when she left, whispered secrets of men and women Makino had never known, and kissed her forehead when Makino went to sleep on her shoulder.
Makino loved her, didn’t you know?
(She left, and never came back.)
-
Makino knows the path to the bandit den like the back of her hand by now. She makes journeys up there in the middle of the week, when the bar is quiet, to give boys a well-cooked meal and some bandits some booze. Its tradition, at this point.
This isn’t her usual day, so it’s a miracle the boys are even at the bandit den (she had heard from an excited Luffy that they were hiding out in a tree house now.) They cheer at her presence and the meal she brought while Dadan gives her a curious look.
They are covered in bruises, a blessing from Garp before he visited Makino, but are still running around, screeching and wrestling in the mud.
Makino doesn’t mind, and in a quiet moment, takes Ace away to talk to him.
“Ace,” She starts, kneeling down to be at his level. “Garp told me about your parents.”
Ace locks up, body freezing as his eyes go wide. There’s terror in them, and Makino feels her heart break. His mouth opens and shuts, words not coming out, but that’s okay.
Makino knows his question.
“I don’t care, Ace, I still love you.”
His eyes well up and he bites his lip, like he can’t bear to believe it. He’s trying to stay strong, and Makino can’t help but wonder at how similar he is to his mother.
(The freckles are a spitting image of Rouge, and Makino can’t help but wonder what he would look like if he had his mother’s hair.)
Ace sniffles and she draws him in. He’s too flustered to fight back, to unused to hugs to hug back, but that’s why Makino drew him away from everyone else.
Her shoulder grows wet from his tears as she gently brushes his hair back. “Shh. It’s okay, Ace. It’s okay.” When he grows quiet, eyes dried up, just a little, she says what she truly came up here to do.
“I have a present for you.”
He lifts his head up, face curious. “More clothes?”
“No, silly.” She laughs and then laughs again at the redness of his face. “Do you know what your mother looked like?”
Ace shakes his head, stilling. “No. Shitty Gramps told me stories though…”
And by the tone in his voice, it’s probably stories of his birth – not the ones Rouge told Makino on Foosha’s beaches twelve years ago.  She’s going to have to fix that.
Makino pulls the old and faded paper out of her pocket. “Here”
Ace takes one look at the poster and promptly breaks again
-
Two weeks after Rouge left Foosha, the News Coos brings another round of papers. Everyone scrambles for one, eager to hear what has happened since the Pirate King fell, but Makino is lucky enough to grab her mother’s copy.
Her reading isn’t the best now, but she likes looking at the wanted posters that come with them. There are so many new pirates now
The wanted poster that falls out is a new one, an updated one, with a face Makino hasn’t seen on a wanted poster before - but has seen in reality, cupped in her hands and counted the freckles of a stranger’s face
‘SEA STORM’ PORTGAS D. ROUGE - WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE: 1.5 BILLION BERRIES
Rouge... the pregnant woman who laughed and dance with Makino as if she was her own child. is wanted? is a pirate? Why?
Makino can’t fathom it and worries for the woman who she had known for a week.
She hopes she’s alive
She hopes she comes back
(She asks Garp about the woman, once, and some strange happenings run across his face, like worry and concern and anger all at once. He curses then interrogates Makino about everything she knows about the woman, which she tells him, trembling. Her mother scolds her for being dishonest but Garp thanks her, tells her she’s keeping her safe. That Rouge will be safe.
Makino is thankful.)
Raids start for the pirate Kings son the next week. Makino stays at home, afraid and hidden as soldiers interrogate every woman on the isle, how long they been there, if any people visited port before the capture of the king.
She hopes Rouge, regnant and tall and bold, escapes it.
Her bounty comes in again with a New Coo a year later, when raids have died down, and Makino is sure she’s alive.
1.7 billion, and she’s smiling.
Rouge survived. Makino can’t wait to see her again.
(That is the last picture she ever gets of Rouge. It’s not put up with the others when Makino takes over the bar at 16. It’s much too precious for that. instead, she hides it in her chest of precious things in her room, taking care to make sure the paper doesn’t crumble or fray. It’s a treasure she doesn’t admit to having, and dream she doesn’t say to the world but keeps close to her heart.)
Makino sees ace and knows Rouge didn’t survive for that woman, who played with her when no one else would, would never abandon her child willingly.
-
The wanted poster is faded but the picture is still clear through meticulous care.  a woman stares out from in, angled away from the camera but with her face fully visible. her hair flows in the morning light of the picture, pink against the sea in the background, and freckles dash across her face. she’s closed mouth but smiling eye amused but with one eyebrow raised. A hibiscus, pink and blooming, is nestled in her hair. Her skin is warm and glowing and she looks like an older Ace.
Its Rouge, queen of the seas.
Its Rouge, Aces mother.
In the wanted poster he takes gently from Makino, he sees his mother for the first time.
“Mom?” he croaks out, voice shaky and so, so hopeful. Makino hums, and settles in, guiding Ace to sit next to her as they stare at the wanted poster.
“Yes. When I was girl she visited this island... you look just like her, you know? I knew it was her the moment I saw you.”
“What... what was she like?” Aces voice is soft and hopeful as he traces the bounty number, so unbelievably high for someone he has never heard of.
Makino smiles. “She was kind, so unbelievably kind, to me at least. Just wandered into Foosha one day and took my hand – I think she was pregnant with you at the time, isn’t that fun?”
Ace gives a tiny smile, eyes wide and big as he stares at her. He hangs onto every word, trying to show that he isn’t lest she decides not to tell it, which she never would, but it’s endearing all the same.
“But to others,” Makino continues, “She was the storm at sea. Sea Storm Rouge, the papers called her, a legend known by the burning flower in her hair. She would appear like a maelstrom at sea, suddenly there before you could blink and taking down ships at a speed no one could rival save for a select few. She would free slaves from nobles in the same breath she took off with all their loot. She took nothing lying down.”
Sabo and Luffy sneak in to their tiny clearing and find their place next to Ace, knowing there’s a story to be told and not willing to miss it. She laughs at their curious expressions, and continues wither her tale of the woman she might have called mother as Ace pulls his brothers in close.
“She told me once of how she stared a sea king the size of an island down because he was bothering her morning meal…”
-
Rouge leaves in the quiet moments of dawn, when the sun is only barely rising and all is quiet save for the fishermen already out in the waters.
She takes Makino with her, out to the shore, taking her by the hand and leading her out as the girl rubbed sleep from her eyes.
There’s sadness in Rouge, Makino notes as they leave, passing by houses and towards the abandon beach half a mile from Foosha.
She doesn’t like the sadness there, but she senses it’s not her job to get rid of it – it’s the selfish kind of sadness, the kind that comes with loving some great.
(Makino’s young, but all the children of this world know that feeling.)
They watch the sunrise together in front of Rouge’s small ship, and lean into each other. Rouge’s hand braids Makino’s hair as she plays with the sword handle at the woman’s hip.
“Rouge,” She asks, quiet. It’s not the time for loudness. “Why are you leaving?”
Why are you leaving me?
(Makino’s mother runs the Party Bar and doesn’t leave time for anyone else. Her father isn’t around and the closest she has is Garp and Woopslap, and it should be enough, but it isn’t. Not next to this stranger who has told her of legends and let her hold her hand and dance under the stars. It’s not enough to the raging storm of Rouge’s love.)
Rouge smiles, face softening as she finishes tying off Makino’s braid. “I have to, to keep those I love safe. If I fight, I can win, but others won’t. And I won’t hurt them for their selflessness.”
“But what if its selfishness?”
What if I want you here for me?
Rouge rests a hand on her stomach and one on Makino’s head, and the world seems to still. There’s a pressure from Rouge, one that seems to make the light from the sun flicker under the force from it. It relents, after a moment, but Makino feels safe.
Secure.
Rouge loves her.
“Then you must live with that selfishness, like I do mine.” Her voice is soft. Makino takes the words and keeps them in her heart. It’s hers.
The sun is half over the horizon now. Rouge gets up, and lifts Makino from the railing where they sit to put her on the sandy ground. They are both barefoot, now, having run in the sand half an hour before, and their toes sink into sand as water runs over their toes.
It’s a peaceful kind of ending.
Rouge kneels, soaking her pants in the shore to look Makino in her eyes. She pulls the flower out of her hair, still immaculately pristine and beautiful, and places it behind Makino’s ear. “A gift,” she says, and kisses Makino on the forehead, “so you don’t forget me, alright?”
Makino nods and knows she never will.
No one but Makino knows the Maelstrom of the Grand Line was on Dawn Island, but as Rouge sails off into the raising son, one child left behind and one yet to be born, she finds that’s quite alright.
She was there, and that was enough.
(Never, her selfish heart whispers, never enough.)
-
Ace is the only one still awake by the time Makino tells the last of her few tales. He’s tired, clearly, resting heavily on Sabo as Luffy rests in his lap, but he keeps on blinking his eyes open. The sun is setting now, and Makino must really be going, but she has one last thing to show him.
“Come on,” She says, pulling Ace up and leaving his brothers to collapse on each other. “I have another gift for you.”
Ace looks at the wanted poster still held so gently in his hands, and follows into the woods.
There’s a field on the west side of the island, the cliffside above the shore half a mile from Foosha. Its filled with beautiful hibiscuses the shades of vibrant pink.
Ace had seen it before, on his ventures.
But now, Makino shows him the truth.
“Your mother gave me her flower, one of them at least, that was in that poster. It started wilting after a few days, so I found a way to replant the seeds and pressed the original… they quickly spread over the valley…”
The sun makes them burn like fire, and Makino sees the love of a mother reflected in Ace’s eyes.
Saltwater falls down her cheeks as she sees Ace take a flower like it is the most precious thing in the world (like Makino had treated the flower Rouge gave her) and place it in his hair. It’s just long enough in the step that it nestles gently in his hair, and he smiles, so happily, like she hasn’t seen him do unless he’s with his brothers.
Tears mirror hers on his cheeks and suddenly she’s staring at Rouge on the day she met her.
He gives her a flower next, and they walk under the setting sun to Dadan’s hut with Rouge’s love intertwined in their hair.
-
Makino is a bartender, which means she keeps information, and it means she inherited the place where she met a woman who changed her life.
She sees Ace off on the same shore she saw Rouge off, and cries and waves with joy in every moment. He sails into the sun, brilliant and bold, as flowers float around the waiting crowd, and she’s so, so happy.
She is a bartender so she gets the wanted posters two months later first: information is key, after all.
The poster is put up on the reserved wall, a place of pride for three two boys.
Fire Fist Ace, it declares, Captain of the Spades Pirates WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE!
The picture on it is a smiling boy on fire, freckled and smiling. His hat has two charms around it and a wreath of beads is around his neck, a gift from his bandit mother. Expected, for a runaway pirate.
Intertwined in the hat and in his hair, however, are brilliant pink hibiscuses – a tribute to a woman forgotten by the world.
(The rumors Makino hears tell of a boy who doesn’t care what you do to him, but if you harm his crew or the flowers on his ship and hat, there will be hell to pay from a boy made of fire.)
Makino thinks Rouge would be proud.
-
“Rouge? What are you going to name your baby?”
“Ann if it’s a girl. I would name her Makino, but I think the one I know is great enough!”
“Sesesese! And if it’s a boy?”
“Then Ace! That’s the name his father loved – it’s a good name, don’t you think? I love him already.”
“Can I be his big sister?”
“Of course.”
-
(Makino is a bartender, and that mean Makino has connections.
She asks Shanks to fill Ace’s grave with pink hibiscuses, and for Rayleigh to give Luffy a bouquet of them to give to the cracks in the Earth at Marineford.
It’s not nearly enough, but she will be selfish, just this once, and will cry about it.)
-
She names her child Ann and calls her my little sea storm, my little flower.
She knows Rouge would be proud.

May 11: Royalty/aristocracy/feudal AU
Damian Wayne was the heir to more than just one crown. His Father, Bruce Wayne, was the king of Gotham. While his Mother, Talia Al Guhl, was a princess of Assassins. From a young age he was to rule over the Assassins, then everything came crashing down when he turned ten. His Mother and Grandfather had been killed, and he was sent to live with his Father. At first it had been difficult to adjust to life in Gotham. No one, not his Father or adoptive brothers, seemed to realize that he had grown up on the outside his entire life. Had seen and done things most of them couldn’t comprehend. Eventually this led to him leaving in the middle of the night.
Now his Father had known where he had gone, but realized that he would come to him in his own time. Now, with his eighteenth birthday approaching soon it was his time to take over the crown. Despite having three older brothers the burden of becoming king fell on the young man's shoulders. While his brothers were able to refuse the crown, and did so quite quickly seeing what it had done to their Father, he wasn’t able to refuse as it was his birthright. He didn't want to be king, not after he had lived as a civilian.
“Damian'' was the first thing he heard that day “Damian Wayne, you open up this door immediately” he heard banging on the door. He looked around at his surroundings, not remembering a thing that happened the previous night. He looked over to the other side of his bed only to find a naked woman laying next to him. Looking at himself he realized that he too was undressed. It didn't take a detective to figure out what had happened. He had a pounding headache and the banging on his door didn’t help, so he just laid back in bed, pulling the covers over his head to block out the sunlight.
The next thing he knew the covers were ripped from his face, revealing his body from the waist up. What greeted him were two dazzling amethyst orbs looking down at him. He scoffed and turned around. “Go away demon” Raven, the young girl he had directed the comment towards, chuckled softly. At the sound he sat up to look at her. He loved hearing her laugh, it was light and breathy. “Come on damian, in a few days you’re gonna be the king while I'm gonna be at the bar drinking away the heartbreak of never being able to see you again” the violet haired girl said with so much seriousness in her voice that he almost believed her, but he knew better. So instead of responding to her he fell back into bed with a thud, waking the women in his bed up. She sat up using the blankets to cover herself, looking up at Raven. Slowly Raven had turned her head towards the future king, raising her brow. “You didn’t kick her out? That's a first” all the response she got in return was a glare.
Sometimes he wondered how they had ever become friends, of course he knew the answer to that. Just like him she had left her family, who lived in The Undergrounds, for a different and more understanding life. The Undergrounds was a few kingdoms away. No one knew anything about them -except that their future ruler had disappeared a while ago- and very few people were actually allowed to leave. From what he knew Raven had left illegal. Of course when he first met her he didn’t like this. However, as time went on he realized that unlike him, who left his home because he felt misunderstood, she did it to escape an abusive household. She told him that the king of The Undergrounds was an evil dictator.
The lady narrowed her eyes at Raven and looked at him with a pout and started batting her lashes. “Oh Damian, shouldn’t you kick this wrench out-“ she said looking at Raven “-so we can continue where we left off?” she started to touch his chest and was leaning in for a kiss when he had stopped her. He never understood women like her who thought that they meant more to him then a meaningless fling. As cruel as it sounded, he would only hook-up with someone when he was shit-faced drunk, and he always felt guilty about it afterwards since he knew that it was just driving a wedge between the one person he’d actual pursue a relationship with. He got out of bed, making sure he kept the blankets to his waist. He asked the lady to leave and after a couple minutes of her throwing a tantrum she finally did. “Well as fun as that was to watch” Raven started up. “Hurry up and get dressed” she told him, walking into his kitchen so she could make some tea.
-
He was eighteen, he had been for awhile now, and was forced to live with his Father again. He wasn’t allowed to leave the castle and if he was, then he had two guards by his side at all times. He wasn’t allowed to go out and do frivolous things, which meant he wasn’t allowed to visit Raven. His coronation was in a couple of weeks and he had somehow managed to get his Father to agree to let him bring a plus one. He assumed his father meant for him to bring a princess, or a person of royal blood at least. But he decided that his time would be spent better with a friend. So he had bribed his guards, which was surprisingly easy to do, and they let him go do anything he wanted, still being by his side of course.
He had walked into a bar that he came to be fairly familiar with. Knowing Raven was here, his eyes scanned the room. She was being hit on by some guy, she didn’t seem very comfortable though. He wanted to march up to him and tell him to back off but apparently he didn’t have to. The guards had yelled for everyone to leave or they would be punished, and he was the first one out the door. While everyone was rushing to leave, including the bartender, she was looking at him. Taking her sweet time to finish her drink. By the time she was done there were only a couple of people left in the bar, all of them gathering their things to leave. After putting her glass down she looked at him one more time before grabbing her jacket off of a stool. “Stay” Damian's voice broke the silence. She looked up at him for a moment before she sat at a table, motioning for him to do the same.
“So…how have you been?” He asked, trying to lighten the mood. “Six months Damian. I haven’t seen you in six months and you wanna know how I'm doing?” She said with a face of disbelief. “Look Raven, I know that you’re mad at me but I have a favour to ask” he said looking at her sheepishly. “If you ask me to dress up as a jester I'm going to punch you” she told him with a raised brow. “You know I'm your future king, correct” “you know I don’t care” he glared at her, knowing that she wasn’t afraid of him.
“I need a date for my coronation ball on Friday” he said, not being able to look her in the eye as he did it. “If you want me to hook you up with one of my friends then you’re out of luck” was it bad that he was relieved? Seeing as the one he wanted to go with was sitting across from him. “Besides, shouldn’t you be taking a princess?” She questioned. “Well that is what father expecs, but I'd much rather go with someone I am comfortable with” he informed her, resting his hands above hers. “I was wondering if you would accompany me?” He asked, looking her straight in the eyes knowing that would make her more likely to agree. “I have work” she said, retracting her hands from his. He looked disappointed for a moment until he remembered the second reason he had came.
“About that, I was wondering if you would like to be my general?” The shock in her eyes had told him that she didn’t expect that at all, which surprised him considering he had always joked about her being his general when he was king. “What about Clark?” She asked, knowing that the formal general hadn’t died. “He retired, something about wanting more time to spend with his family” taking her hands again he continued. “Raven, you’re one of the strongest people I know with a brilliant mind to match. You’re the only person I trust with such an important task, so either you accept the job or we don’t have a general. You wouldn’t want that now would you” he teased.
She was quiet for a moment, making Damian think she was going to turn him down until she met his gaze, and shook her head up and down. “Good” he smirked. “That means you can accompany me to the ball after all, since the general's attendance is mandatory” he said leaning back in his chair. “You sneaky bastard” she told him, but the smile on her face said all he needed to know; yes.
-
Raven was so out of her element she was considering from resigning. Sure it had only been a couple of days of being Gotham's general but god she couldn’t attend anymore of these. As soon the ceremony was over Damian had taken her to meet his Father. At first he was disappointed in him for being with a peasant. That was until she opened her mouth. Everyone in the kingdom feared Bruce, and although she was afraid that he may throw her in the dungeon -as he had a no-killing policy- she decided to speak her mind clearly. He was surprised, and he was never surprised. When he found out that she had become the new general he couldn’t help but feel pride for his son, having chosen such a brilliant young woman. of course he couldn’t tell her any of this, so instead he dragged Damian away to meet some of the other leaders.
So here she was, awkwardly standing in a corner. She could feel the stares from some of the guests. Whether that was because no one knew her or for her attire she did not know. She had on a black floor length dress with red undertones. It was off the shoulders, the top portion being two long pieces of fabric crossecting each other. Her hair was curled with one side pinned behind her ear. A simple red gem on a silver chain was around her neck with small matching studs in her ears to match. As she took a sip of her drink a girl in a scarlet coloured ballroom gown, followed by two other girls; one in light blue and the other in light pink.
“Hello there, I'm princess Emiko of Star Kingdom” said the girl in the red gown, “and this is princess Kara of National-“ she said pointing to the one in blue “-and this is princess Dawn of Central Kingdom” she pointed to the one in pink. Turning back to face Raven she asked “and you are?” With a wide smile on her lips. “Raven,” she said as she took another sip of her champagne. The young girl's face fell for a moment, realizing that the girl in front of her wasn’t a princess, or had a title. Then her eyes brightened up as she looked at the purple haired girl. “Have you met him?” at her inquiry Raven raised an eyebrow. “The king! the princess answered the other girl's silent question. “He’s so handsome,” the one in pink said. “No matter, you know if any of us have a chance it would be Emiko” at Raven’s confused face Emiko spoke. “King Oliver-“ the ruler of Star Kingdom “-is close friends with Damian's father” the girl clarified.
“Oh my god, he’s coming over here” the one in blue spoke. as he approached Raven stiffened, quickly finishing her drink. “Princesses” he nodded at them, taking and kissing each of the young princess's hands. turning to Raven he grinned. “General” he said slowly, his smile growing ten folds. “General? I didn’t know you were…” the young princess in front of Raven trailed off. “Oh yes, Raven here is the new General of Gotham, and-“ he let his eyes roam over her form as he stood beside her “-my date” he said putting an arm around the young woman. At this the princesses eyes widen, not understanding how a king could be with someone of non-royal blood, whether she was a general or not.
“I'm not your date” she deadpanned, shrugging his hands off her shoulders. “I'm only here because it’s mandatory,” she said, turning to face him. At that his smile fell, his face turning into something like guilt. “Yeah, about that…” he trailed off, chuckling a bit. Her eyes widened in shock “You mean I don’t have to be here” shaking his head he averted his gaze. “Well then” he heard her speak up. “I'm out of here” she said, walking forward. Forgetting about the princesses, he ran forward. Stepping in front of her, trying to convince her to stay.
“Look, I don't like being here as much as you do,” he sighed, hoping she wouldn’t be too mad that he tricked her. “Your presence is required. Plus you don’t have to walk around in heels all night” she really hated her choice of footwear that evening.
“Raven?” Damian heard a voice from behind him ask. He turned around to see prince Zilevo of The Undergrounds.Damian concluded that he had just arrived, since he still had a present in his grasp and hadn’t bothered to take his coat off. “You’re alive” he exclaimed with a clear amount of anger in his voice. “We had search parties out for months looking for you. Father even debated going out himself” at this Raven scoffed, clearly not believing him. “He’ll be thrilled to find out that you’re not dead. Then you can take your rightful place as the ruler of The Undergrounds” he informed the young girl, with jealousy clear in his voice. Unlike other kingdoms in which the oldest son inherited the crown, The Undergrounds new ruler would be whichever child was strongest.
“Prince Zilevo, I’m afraid you’re mistaken” Damian said, intervening. Ignoring him, Zilevo looked to Raven, questions in his eyes. “So you aren’t Raven?” he asked, raising a brow at her. “No, she is-“ Damian answered for her “-but she’s not a princess…” he trailed off connecting the dots. It explained a lot, like why she was so against prince Zilevo and his family, how the princess of The Undergrounds had gone missing around the same time Raven told him she left. “You are, aren’t you? Their future ruler” he asked in a cold tone, not facing her. He was upset, but not because she had lied to him. When they had first met he made advances towards her. Although he was alway thoroughly ignored, he didn’t lose hope, as he could take anyone he wanted to bed. Along the way he started to develop real feelings toward the purple eyed girl. He once asked why she didn’t want to sleep with him, seeing how people basically throw themselves at him. She had said it was pointless since he had to marry a royal. It was a logical rebuttal. However, it didn’t stop him from continuing to flirt with the young girl.
She nodded, even though he couldn’t see it. Looking at her brother she scoffed again. “I don't want the crown, you can have it” “you know that’s not how it works” the prince stepped forward standing beside Damian. “Father will only give the crown to you, Gutizia already tried to take it after you left” he said referring to another one of their brothers. Despite all of them being the king’s offspring, each had a different mother. While Raven's brothers' mothers were people with money and power, her mother, Arella, had been a peasant who met the king by chance. In her early life Raven lived with her mother, it was a quiet and simply life. That was until her mother was killed after Raven had visited her Father for the first time, exclaiming she was his child. Before her death, Arella had confirmed this, then she was hung for “treason” as the king put it. After this her father had forced her to train, realizing that having a royal-peasant hybrid rule the Grounds would help open the demons -people who lived in the undergrounds were called- minds.
“Well I'm not going back” she said, crossing her arms. “He thought you were dead, we all did” her brother said, raising his voice slightly at her. “Well make sure the bastard still believes that'' she said before walking away, going on to one of the many balconies. She was furious that she was found out. She also knew that Zilevo couldn’t keep his mouth shut and she’d be forced to leave Gotham and rule over that revolting kingdom, or witness a war break out. She also wanted to talk to Damian and explain. She knew that he was upset and would have a bunch of questions. As she was debating going back she heard the door for the balcony open. Standing there was none other than the new king of gotham.
“I'm sorry” she started immediately, not giving him a chance to speak. “Despite what you may think, I didn't like lying to you. Everything else I said about my family was true -the abuse, the crimes, the greed and anger- it was all real. I couldn't go back and telling anyone, even you, made my chances of getting caught significantly higher” she pleaded with him, trying to make him understand her reasoning. “You know,” he said, coming to stand beside her. “By law if you marry a king before you inherit your kingdom then you have no obligation to them” he said looking at her, bringing his hand to rest on her cheek. She leaned into the touch a bit, glad that he wasn’t mad. Taking his hand off and placing it on the railing, he looked out to the midnight sky.
“If that was your lame attempt at asking me to marry you. Then no” she told him after a moment of silence. He turned to face her, giving her a small sad smile. “But, if that was your lame attempt at asking me on a date…then I wouldn’t oppose” she said the last bit so quietly he almost thought he dreamt it, but the smile on his face and the twitch of her hands assured him he hadn’t. He couldn’t help the smile that crept itself onto his face as he spun her around while they embraced.

Death would be better ch.1
Who loves angst!! linked universe mixed with the fallen timeline. Warning for philologically abuse and mental manipulation (also some light reference to attempted suicide)
-
Link struggled very weakly as he spat up a bit of blood, the demon king likely destroyed one of his organs with the throw he was just given.
‘The demon planned for this’ Link thought as he struggled to move trying to raise his head to glare at the bastard. He had been waiting in the temple, and Link hadn’t even noticed until it was too late. By the time the stones were put into place, Link found himself being thrown across the room, hitting one of the pillars.
The Gerudo king went into a room, likely what held the Triforce from what he heard from Zelda. However when Link felt the burning in the back of his hand in the shape of a triangle he knew his fate was sealed. Link would die at the hands of Ganon, the little glow on his hand says it.
“Navi, find Zelda. Tell her what happened. Please.” Link begged his little fairy friend to abandoning him; he knew he wouldn’t be able to get up in time and make his escape.
Link had to smack Navi to get her the courage to run away. Ganon finally came back into the room, glaring at the little hero who just glared back. This was the hero's death but he wouldn’t give Ganon the satisfaction of knowing he's scared.
Just then the Demon King glare becomes a smile, making Links glare falter; Navi had taken this moment to try to fly out towards the window.
Ganon snatched the fairy as she tried to fly secretly by the king…...Then he crushed the fairy.
“NAVI!!”
-
“NAVI!” Link screamed jumping up out of bed, breathing heavily trying to catch his breath.
‘It’s just a dream, it’s just a dream’ Link tried to say to himself, trying to calm himself down….’but it wasn’t a dream’.
Link could feel the heavy chain around his ankle that’s other end was hooked to the bed, a measure that was taken after Link had tried to jump out of the window.
Link didn’t know why Ganon hadn't killed him, honestly he wished he had been killed, it was better than the hell he was in now.
Ganon had been playing the role of Link’s ‘adopted father’, caring for him, trying to keep him to eat. He knew that Ganon was planning something big by keeping up his act. If it wasn’t for Link's fading memory maybe the traumatized child would have believed him.
The thoughts of his memories made Link curl back onto the bed trying not to cry. There are things he should remember, places and people that seemed so recognizable but yet their names escaped him, and soon after the faces would become a blur as well.
His latest frustration came in the form of a goron, a big chief with a big belly laugh that could shake death mountain but yet when he tried to remember his name it came up a blank; the details of his face slowly blurring in his mind. There was no doubt that if Ganon brought end for another ‘healing session’ the gorons and death mountain would be nothing more than wisps of memory, begging for attention from the back of his mind.
Link curled up into a tighter ball, the movement irritating the wounds on his arms showing the many attempts to end his personal hell.
‘Why couldn’t Ganon just kill me?”
-
“Why do you bother keeping the kid around?” “Yeah you should have just killed him” Koume and Kotake muttered to the Gerudo king from their brooms, as the gerudo king did everything in his power to ignore his mothers. He deals with their whining everyday so the ignore was par for the course.
“Answer before we poison the boy” Koume said, flying closer to her son, who glare intensified with threat.
“You know damn why, if we kill the brat his soul will just be reborn. It will be impossible to get rid of him, like a cockroach” Ganon said with a sneer.
“Then why are you playing house? Why waste all these resources?” Kotake joined in obviously plotting to kill the child.
“Because imagine what will happen if that little brat is on our side?” Ganondorf said with a twisted smile “A young scared child toss by the side by the goddess. Eventually he will question what’s real, he will eventually give in and accept what fate has in store. Can’t you just imagine it?” Ganon said stretching his arms wide across the map of Hyrule. “Power and Courage both under my control, and my would-be-killer taking my word as law”
“So how long are you planning on playing house?” One of his mothers asked but Ganondorf had no idea which one.
“Until his mind finally breaks and he accepts his reality” Ganon said turning around to glare at his mother “It would be easier if two certain witches didn’t keep overloading his brain, nearly killing him” The two witches just rolled their eyes.
“Leave me be” Ganon said, turning back to the map as he gestures for his mothers to leave him be. Being left alone with his thoughts he started to review his plan. It would take a little more to break the little one’s spirit, but he knew he was on the right path. Grabbing the Triforce of power gave him a glance into the timelines, he could see what that child would become. That child's fate if he doesn’t die was to become a great warrior, something that could defeat a god. Why not mould that would be hero into his army's most powerful general?
Speaking of which it was time to visit his son.
-
“Wake up my prince” Nifari said, throwing open the curtains of the room. It had been pleasant being moved into the wonderful castle, however her job had been assigned looking after the young adopted hero.
The young hero curled up under the covers trying to hide away from the world. The Gerudo smiled as she put down the breakfast porridge on the side table as she pulled the covers off the child.
The young warrior smiled as she physically helped the child move into a sitting position, it slightly broke her heart. Their king told us the story of them taking their rightful place in the castle. However she couldn’t help her heart breaking when Ganon told us the story of this little child. The child was cursed by the hylians to only see the evil in the world, filled with paranoia and fear. Maybe her smile and kindness could help break the stupid curse.
“Come on, it’s time to eat” Nifari said as she grabbed the bowl offering a spoon full of porridge to the child. Sadly the child moved away his face away, making the gerudo face drop; she had noticed how much weight the little boy lost. “Come on our little sun, eat”
The young gerudo words were cut off by the sound of a door opening, she looked up to see the king entering. She sat down the food and bowed towards her king.
The King all but ignored her and went to his adopted son.
“Hey Link, how are you feeling?” The male gerudo asked as he went to go put his hand on the boys head. Link quickly moved away as best as he could, avoiding eye contact. The king just seemed to sigh before taking a glance over the boy.
“Has he been eating?” Ganon asked the gerudo in change of the prince.
“No sir, I’ve been trying to get him to eat but he won't,” Nifari said with her head down wondering what punishment might await her. However the king didn’t give her a punishment, instead turning back to the child.
“You need to eat, Link. Why aren’t you eating?” Ganon said in the softest voice he could, however that didn’t stop the kids from flinching away.
"I don't like it" Link whimpered out in a gravely voice that just sounded like it hurt his throat. Ganon expression read of shock, he had been convince the hero was mute, after his scream for his fairy the boy hadn't said a word, not a peep. However to Ganon this was progress.
"Well we can make something you like. What do you want to eat?" Ganon said in a voice used for kids, not knowing how insulting the little hero found it.
"I want meat. Steak, chicken, meat" The hero stated as he stares at the king. The king noticed how the boy scratched at the wraps on his arm, his past attempts with anything sharp.
"No" Ganon states clear as day "Your past behavior shows you can't be trusted with sharp objects. You will stay on soup and portage until I know you won't hurt yourself" Ganon lost the harshness in his voice trying to take on a softer tone "I'm sorry I can't do that. Is their anything else I can do to make you happy?"
Link's face just held a glare in a way Ganon couldn't read.
"I want Navi" Link states with as much confidence as he could. He knew what he was doing, he was trying to poke holes in Ganon's story, trying to make him mad. Maybe in the end Ganon will finally just snap and end his torment.
"Alright, I'll asked her mother if she can spend the night at the castle, I know you miss-" Ganon went off happily, as if it was the easiest request he had heard.
"No!" Link screamed "I want my fairy!"
Both Ganon and Nifari were taken aback.
"Link...there was never any fairies. Fairies don't exists" Ganon said softly.
"No!" Link screamed out jumping up from the bed "She was my fairy! My Guide and you stole her from me! You killed her!" Link made a jump at the Gerudo king however Nifari had grabbed him trying to hold him back.
The boy screamed many different things, mostly horrible names towards Ganon as tears ran down his face.
"Your majesty what's wrong?!" Nifari screamed out in a panic as she held the screaming boy to her body.
"This might be from the curse the Hyilans cast. We need to get my mothers in here" Ganon suggested.
At the suggestion of Ganon's mothers Link screaming turned up by 50%, full out flailing crying and screams for help. It had gotten so bad that Nifari  had to take some steps back or risk Link breaking out of her hold.
Right next to the bathroom's glass door
Link saw his opportunity so he reached his head to one side before swing it into the door.
CRAAASH
Link felt warmed and light headed, he could hear screaming around him but he didn't care as the darkness took hold.
Somewhere in the land a portal open up and 9 adventures with the same name stepped through.
The Link's walked through the portal, confused on which world they were in now.
"Does this look familiar to anyone?" Legend asked as they took at the dark sky. Many nodded no.
Time couldn't help a gut feeling he had as this hyrule looked so similar to his after his 7 year nap. But something in his mind was telling him it was much worse.

Headcanons about Nagamasa's Parents !
Nagamasa's mother —– Ono-dono ( 小野殿 ) / Ako ( 阿古 )
She’s originally from the Iguchi family. Her father (Iguchi Keigen) was the retainer and right-hand man of Hisamasa’s father (Azai Sukemasa), so it was natural that Ako and Hisamasa were married, given the friendship between their fathers and to keep the ties between their two clans strong.
Ako married Hisamasa when she was 14-15 years old, and when Hisamasa was 15-16 years old.
She had her first daughter (later known as Kyogoku Maria) a couple years after getting married.
Ako has a good relationship with Hisamasa’s eldest illegitimate daughter / Sukemasa’s adopted daughter Aku ( 阿久 ) / Shoankenkyu ( 昌安見久尼 ). Since they’re only nine years apart in age, Ako views Aku as something akin to a younger sister.
She also has an older brother, two younger sisters, and one younger brother who are related to her by blood?
As a teenager / young adult, Ako had a very positive and somewhat easily excited personality, but she was also very sheltered and naïve about some things.
Ako quickly developed romantic feelings for Hisamasa when she first married him. When she looks back on that time now, she realizes this was mostly just her being excited to be married (and to be the first daughter in her family to be married).
Several years of being a hostage and raising Saruyashamaru (little Nagamasa) all by herself forced her to mature quickly and learn to always be on the lookout for danger. She returns to the Azai as a cautious, wise-beyond-her-years woman, although she still retains some of her optimism.
Ako can’t help but wonder whether she could’ve curbed Maria’s cruel / selfish tendencies if she had been there to guide her when she was growing up.
Ako’s strongest bond is with Nagamasa, and Nagamasa is in turn very close to his mother, since the two of them only had each other to rely on during their time as hostages. Because of this, Ako is probably the only person in the Azai clan who has even a suspicion that Nagamasa’s time as a hostage was traumatic for him. Even though he doesn’t “act traumatized”, she believes that if he hadn’t been a hostage, his personality probably would’ve been very different. She worries about how much his time as a hostage has affected him and wonders whether she could’ve done more to protect him.
Ako currently has mixed feelings towards Hisamasa. Being a hostage for eight years (and, at times, fearing for her life and/or her son’s life) was a traumatic experience for her and she’ll probably never completely forgive Hisamasa for giving her to the Rokkaku as a hostage. In addition, she’s very hurt that he slept around during this time. However, Ako also wonders if Nagamasa’s actions towards Hisamasa (forcing him to retire and exiling him) were too harsh. In the end, though, she’s fine with the status quo of Nagamasa being in charge and Hisamasa being exiled. Ako could end up befriending Hisamasa, but there’s no chance that she’d fall in love with him again.
Ako was initially nervous about Nagamasa getting married, both because she had a feeling that he couldn’t deal with a loveless political marriage like she could, and because she was worried that he’d be too harsh on his future wife and scare her off. But she’s glad to see that a warm, loving relationship is slowly but surely blossoming between Oichi and Nagamasa.
Ako has interacted with Oichi in-person several times since Nagamasa’s marriage. She sees her younger self in Oichi a little bit, and tries to encourage her to be more confident and more open about her emotions with Nagamasa. However, Oichi’s Dark Hands and the “Demon King” side of Oichi’s personality seriously creep Ako out. XD So she mostly interacts with Oichi as a penpal, and the two of them send letters to each other on a regular basis.
Nagamasa built her a place specifically for her to live called 阿古の邸 (Ako’s Residence?), which is where she lives most of the time. It’s a quiet, peaceful place where her servants wait on her and treat her like she’s the owner of the residence, and because of this, she’s really mellowed out and come to peace with a lot of what’s happened to her. Despite only being in her late 30s / early 40s, she kind of lives and acts like a grandma now. XD
Ako ends up meeting a very terrible end. During the same month that Nagamasa dies (but before he dies), Ako gets captured by the Oda army. Over the course of a few days, each of her fingers are cut off, and then she dies.
Nagamasa's father —– Azai Hisamasa ( 浅井久政 )
Eldest son of Azai Sukemasa and the second-generation head of the Azai family.
Hisamasa is supposedly a legitimate child of his father Sukemasa, but there have been rumors ever since he was young that he’s the son of Sukemasa’s concubine. These rumors have followed him into adulthood.
Has four younger half-brothers (if the rumors are to be believed, one is his full brother), three younger sisters (half-sisters?), and two younger half-sisters.
Hisamasa resents his father for multiple reasons, some of which are obvious and others which are less so. One reason is that others often compare him to his father, Sukemasa, and consider him to be cowardly and foolish while they consider his father to be a brave, skilled warrior. He feels that they tend to ignore the talents he does have while putting his father on a pedestal. Another reason is that Sukemasa was tough on Hisamasa, since he was the eldest son and Sukemasa wanted him to be the Azai clan’s next leader. A third reason is that Sukemasa refused to confirm who Hisamasa’s birth mother actually is, even to his own son. The circumstances of Aku’s conception and birth also cause Hisamasa to bear a grudge against his father.
As a young man, Hisamasa seems like a good-natured and friendly young man, if a bit shy. However, on the inside, he’s very stressed and bears grudges against his father and some of his father’s men.
Sukemasa died when Hisamasa was 16 years old, not long after Hisamasa married Ako. When Sukemasa died, Hisamasa had trouble inheriting the title of clan leader. Sukemasa’s son-in-law, along with the Kyogoku clan, tried to start a rebellion so that Sukemasa’s son-in-law could inherit the position instead. However, Hisamasa and his retainers talked him out of it.
As he grows up (and especially after Sukemasa’s death), Hisamasa loses the shyness and becomes very extroverted. To deal with his stress, he invests himself in culture and the arts —– Noh theater, renga, falconry, etc. He’s interested in trying all sorts of things!
However, no matter how many years pass, Hisamasa has little aptitude for fighting and battle strategy. His true talents lie in domestic policy and diplomacy —– he can be a very smooth talker and somewhat manipulative, especially in his later years. Even while he’s “retired” and exiled on Chikibu Island, he still exerts some influence over the Azai clan.
Sending his wife as a hostage to the Rokkaku clan was not a decision he took lightly, and it pained him deeply to make it. However, he feels that if he hadn’t done it, the leader of the Rokkaku clan would have become upset and crushed the Azai clan.
Although he tries to hide it, Hisamasa is the sort of person who constantly needs positive attention from others so that he can feel okay about himself. During the time Ako was a hostage, with Ako gone and his retainers starting to turn against him, Hisamasa started sleeping around, and that’s how Nagamasa’s younger half-brother Masamoto was born.
Hisamasa tried to rekindle his relationship with Ako when she returned, but she gave him the cold shoulder when she learned about Masamoto’s birth. To this day he’s still hoping he can win her back, and he sends her love letters every few months. She never responds back.
Hisamasa’s relationship with Nagamasa is strained at best. However, while Nagamasa hates him for being a weak leader and forcing Nagamasa and his mother to be hostages, Hisamasa’s only somewhat annoyed with his eldest son for usurping his title of clan leader. Hisamasa doesn’t understand why Nagamasa hates him so much, and he feels that Nagamasa should think more kindly of him since Hisamasa wasn’t anywhere near as hard on Nagamasa as Sukemasa was on him.
In general, Hisamasa cares about his children equally and treats them all quite warmly, showing them physical affection (e.g. hugs, headpats, etc.) and always doing his best to cheer them on at whatever they’re doing and compliment them.
That having been said, Maria is Hisamasa’s favorite child, and he’s doted on her ever since she was young. XD As Maria has grown up and become more independent (and less reliant on him for basic needs and emotional support), though, their relationship is starting to show signs of strain.
Unfortunately, Hisamasa has never been able to feel any fondness for his eldest daughter, Aku, due to the circumstances of her conception and birth. When she was first born, he could hardly bring himself to be in the same room as her and her mother. However, he’s always felt guilty about feeling so detached from / disgusted by Aku, because he knows those feelings stem from how he feels about her mother and that Aku has done nothing to deserve that from him. After being exiled to Chikubu Island, Hisamasa’s loneliness and guilt caught up with him, and he started reaching out to Aku for the first time via a letter. To his surprise, Aku enthusiastically wrote him back, and the two of them became penpals.
Hisamasa has never actually met Oichi. But back when Nagamasa first married her, Hisamasa sent him a letter simultaneously congratulating him for marrying the most beautiful woman in the land and condemning his decision to ally with the Oda. Nagamasa never replied back.
Hisamasa hates Nobunaga and feels that Nagamasa’s decision to ally with him is one of the worst decisions he’s ever made. Hisamasa regularly corresponds with some of the older Azai retainers he knows who also dislike Nobunaga to try to sabotage Nagamasa’s alliance with the Oda.
Nagamasa grudgingly lets Hisamasa back into Odani Castle so he can have him help fight against Nobunaga. However, during the attack on Odani Castle, once the Azai start losing, Hisamasa sees the writing on the wall and commits seppuku.

The Doll Father
Tumblr media
She lay naked and bloody on the forest floor. Her eyes so swollen  she could barely see anything.  Her head pounding and her body pulsing  with pain all over.  She wanted to scream but could only grunt.  Her  throat was soar she remembered from being choked nearly to death.  He  meant to kill her...she was for sure he intended to kill her now.
Earlier this very day he invited her to the woods for a picnic. He  proposed to her and put a ring on her finger.  He looked up at her  triumphantly...then she said "No" and handed him back his ring.  She was  sorry for refusing him...but she knew they were not meant for each  other.  She turned around to go home when he snatched her by the hair  and slamming her delicate body to to the ground.  Jumping on top of her,  he punched her in the face three times.  At this point her mind and  body were in shock, she could not move but she could still feel.  She  was aware vaguely of being stripped, then angrily assaulted, cursed and  choked until he had his fill of her.  Spitting on her seemingly lifeless  body, he walked away.
Nine months later, her body mostly healed and now big with child, she sat on the porch with  her rescuer and friend, peeling potatoes.  He looked over at her and  smiled.  She sensed him looking at her and looked him in his painted  eyes and smiled back.  Her friend, Ash, was a peculiar thing...a man  made out of wood a doll actually.  She did not know if he was magical or cursed, she did  know that she loved him for saving her and her unborn child.
Ashe's  smile widened as his eyes stayed on his lady, Lena's face.  She blushed  under his gaze, then shyly asked, "What are you thinking about?"  He was  thinking of making her his wife, of being one with her.  He wanted to  raise her child as his own.  He was thinking of them as a family.  Loudly sighing he  finally replied, "I was thinking ...what are you cooking me for  supper?"  She looked a little stunned then laughed and threw a potato at  him.  "Fine" she said with laughter still in her voice , keep your  dirty thoughts to yourself!   She tried to stand up from her chair when  she felt a sudden pain and water gushing down her inner thighs.  She  screamed,"Ashe!" but before she could finish his name he  had her in his arms running her to the midwife's house.  She looked  into Ashe's face as he carried her and her unborn child away thru the  woods.  He was moving at an inhuman speed with inhuman strength but then  he was not human.  Still she felt no fear in the  arms of this living doll.  She peacefully closed her eyes as they neared the  midwife's home.
Lena  was putting the finishing touch on their son's birthday cake.  Ashe sat  in a chair near the fire...but not too close. He sat quietly thinking  of the night he ran his now wife and son to the midwife.  He watch his  boy being delivered...he shook his head in disbelief of his good fortune  to have a beautiful loving wife and wonderful adoring son. He smiled at her as she  fussed over the cake.  Lena looked up and caught his eyes on her.  She  smiled back at him.  She thought of how wonderful a husband and father  he has been.  They married soon after their son's birth.  The midwife,  Sarah, performed the ceremony. They did not have a "traditional"  marriage.  Lena was so brutally rapped that she was unwilling to have  intercourse and Ashe, did not come equip with the tools to perform, but  that did not matter they loved each other beyond physical limits and  expectations. She knows she should have died naked and alone on that forest floor, yet she was blessed with an abundant life.  She never took that for granted.
Gently shaking her head out of deep thoughts she called in  their son, "Woodward!" Ashe got up and stood by his wife.  Their son  walked into the room..."Yeah mom what is it?" he then saw the birthday  cake.  He hugged and kissed them both then sat at the table ready to eat  cake.  They laughed and talked about everything and anything well into  the wee hours.  Ashe marveled at how tiny and precious his son was 20  years ago, now he was a big handsome strapping young man.  Ashe taught him much about fighting and hunting. He was a frighteningly fast learner.  Ashe was most proud of teaching his son to be respectful and polite toward others and to not pick on the weak.   He watched his boy grow over the years with a great sense of pride and honor.   He could never have imagined a wooden doll like him, would  become a father.
Woodward wanted to make a name  for himself and help support his aging parents. Though he was an only child when everyone of his friends had many siblings and he had a father that was mysterious and frightening to others always cloaked and covered in public, the boy had a great childhood.
Two weeks after his  birthday he packed his bags and kissed his mom and dad goodbye to find his  glory.  Their son did make a name for himself.  His hunting and fighting  skills were unmatched, thanks to his father's lessons.  Soon he caught  the attention  of the King and the eye of the king's daughter.  Woodward  sent a message and carriage for his parents.  A messenger read the  letter, " Dear mom and dad...I am getting married and you are invited.  I  want you to attend the wedding and pack up all your things and move  into the palace with me.  Your loving son Woodward."
Ashe and Lena  arrived at the palace a few days later.  They loved their old home but it  was falling apart so a new home was just what they needed.  They had a  guided tour of the palace and met the countless staff and assistants.   Finally they met their son and his bride to be.  Woodward's eyes searched for his loving parents as they were ushered into the room.    He recognizing them immediately...his mother older and more beautiful and plump than ever.  His dad tall and  threatening with his concealing cloak on.  Woodward always understood why he had to wear it ...to hide his body from prying eyes else he and his parents  could have been accused of being demons and witches and burned alive by a mob.  Woodward was happy he could finally take care of his parents for all the wonderful things they did for him.  He proudly  lead them to meet his boss the King himself.
Upon  entering the King's chambers, the king turns to greet his future  son-in-law and parents when his face drains of color...at that instance Lena's face  crumples and looks like she will scream.  Ashe's face is full of rage.   The king approaches Lena and looks at her as if she is a ghost.  He  stands stunned and stuck to the floor.  He mutters over and over ..."I  thought you were dead."  Ashe no longer able to contain his fury, He did  not know this man, but his wife's reaction when she saw his face, spoke  clearly that he was the man who had rapped  her nearly 30 years ago.  Ash  in a rage grabs the king and slams him against the wall and pounds his  face and chest.   Woodward pulls his dad off the king...horrified and  confused he yells out, "What is going on?" Lena  explains to her son that the King is the man that assaulted her those  many  years ago.  She begins to cry, "I'm so sorry I did not tell you  about it, but I wanted to forget about it all.  He told me his name but  he apparently lied about it to conceal who he really was.  I'm so sorry  my son".  Ashe, stood up beside his son too...sorry my boy.  I never met  this man but I have always hated him for what he did to your mother.  I  could not help myself,  he deserved  to hurt like her those many  years ago. Woodward smiled at his parents and looked at the King, "Is  this true King?" he asked knowing it was already truth.  The king nodded  as he spit bloody teeth out of his mouth. The  King ordered Woodward and his parents to stay put until he was well  enough to talk.  Within a month they were called to the court again.   The Majesty, ordered them to not speak.  He stood up before them and  said quietly, "Please let me speak without interruption."  He looked at  Lena and remembered her before and after his horrific attack on her, "You know Lena I  really did love you.  Your refusal sent me into an abyss of sorts.  I  could not see you being with anyone but me.  I wanted to kill you and I  almost did."He looked at his son Woodward, "My son, I knew who you were  the moment I saw you.  I did not know who your mother was but I knew you  were mine...because you looked just like my older brother before..."   The king stopped abruptly and smiled.  "Son, you can still marry my  daughter she is not a child of my loins...she was adopted and beloved as  a daughter but not a daughter. It seems Lena gave birth to my only true  heir... you."  The King walked slowly over to Ashe as he rubbed his jaw  remembering the blows he took from the wooden man.  The king laughed,  "You know only my elder brother could hit me like that.  It's time I  bring my big brother back.  The king waved his hand and  Sarah the  midwife stood suddenly before them.  Gasps followed her unexpected  magical visit and regal appearance.   The King looked at Sarah and said  sadly, "Sarah bring my brother home, he is the true king after all."    Sarah immediately stepped forth on the king's orders and kissed Ashe on  the lips so fast no one knew what happen.  The cloak that concealed  Ashes wooden body from public eyes fell away ....and everyone was  shocked to see a wooden doll standing before them who was magically replace with a tall man that looked very much like the king.  Sarah took Ashe by the  shoulders and forced him to look at her as he tried to make sense of  what happened.  She shook him a little , " Ashe...your brother wanted  the kingdom so much that he bound me to a deal that turned you into a  wooden man and erased your past.  I watched over you though.  You saved  Lena and made a family and happy home when you should have had  nothing.   The King put the crown on Ashe's head and all the people said  , long live the king!
I  could not sleep and decided to  write this...it needs lots of changing I just did  not want to loose my thoughts on it.  will update it soon.

Philindaisy AU plot ideas!
Here are some Philindaisy Alternate Universe plot ideas I’m giving up for adoption. If any of you want to write them, please just credit me for the idea. These are free to do with them as you wish. No strings attached. Here you go:
Zombie Apocalypse AU:      Zombie Apocalypses are supposed to be something only in Hollywood, until Fitzsimmons’ lab is attacked and Hydra releases an Alien Virus collected from the Kree. People on base go insane, First muttering about their “calling” before going on a rampage for uninfected human flesh. Coulson and May are on a time crunch to help Fitzsimmons create a cure, while Daisy discovers that all inhumans are immune. Desperate to Get Daisy back safely, Coulson and May head out to bring her back, fighting through those who were former colleagues.      When the virus takes hold of Phil, suddenly everything gets worse as Melinda has to wrangle him back to safety, along with an unconscious Daisy…
Pirate AU:    While on a raid, Pirate Captain Melinda May stumbles across Tavern Cook Phil Coulson. She spares him, (mostly because he was shirtless and easy on the eyes), and forces him along to work in the galley of her ship. Very quickly, Melinda falls for him. They spar at one point, Phil proves himself with both sword and firearm, and Melinda raises his status in rank. Eventually, he saves her life and she makes him first mate, much to the horror and jealousy of former first mate Grant Ward.    Melinda makes Grant Ward walk the plank eventually when he betrays her and tries to kill Melinda in her sleep. Luckily, Phil had been there, doing a fine job at keeping May far from sleep (wink, wink). Little does she know that he is soon picked up by a trading ship. While Melinda makes herself Pirate Queen of the High Seas, she becomes closer and closer to Phil Coulson. During a raid on a small port, Melinda pucks up a child, a seven-year-old orphan girl named Daisy, and brings her aboard with the excuse that she could wash dishes, when really Melinda begins training her in combat. Phil helps as well, and other crew members challenge Melinda, saying she is getting soft. Phil discourages the potential mutiny, and teaches Crew member!Lance Hunter, a thing or two about respecting the ladies.     Eventually Grant Ward returns with a fleet of ships he has conquered, hellbent on getting his revenge and seizing Melinda’s hefty cargo of Pirate Treasure…
Medieval AU:      New King Phillip of House Coulson is set to pick a bride. His mother, Queen dowager Julie, has set before him the best choices for alliances, the lovely Lady Audrey, and Duchess Rosalind. But one night at the ball, Phillip is enchanted with the quiet woman who dances with incredible grace and style. She’s exotic in beauty and Phil is smitten when, alone with her on a balcony, the woman stops an attempted assassination. Phillip had found his bride, Lady Melinda of house May. But his mother may not be so happy, insisting that Phil choose from her selection. When the wedding day comes, Phillip lies to Lady Audrey, and sets Melinda in a duplicate dress, her face covered by a thick veil. By the time their vows are said, and the veil removed, Julie has nothing to say except to welcome Melinda into the family with the most forced smile Phillip has ever seen. Phil finally gets to kiss his bride.     It takes only several moons before Julie is told an Heir is on it’s way. A proud future grandmother, Queen Dowager Julie orders a magical reading of the unborn child. The magician has nothing to say, only leaves screaming like a madman. Afraid for what that means, Melinda is hidden from the public until the royal couple’s long awaited son -erm- daughter is born, a healthy baby girl whom they name Daisy. But soon it becomes apparent that the child is much more powerful then she seems, and Julie is blaming Melinda for bewitching the child....
Shapeshifter AU:      Melinda May-Coulson never shape-shifts. It’s simply easier to hide her gift then to flaunt it and be despised. Most people can shift into a small animal. Dogs, cats, bears, owls, and snakes are common. Horses and Lions are considered lucky. Some are even more amazing, holding within themselves more mythical forms. Every now and then, Griffins and Pegasi are made celebrities. But Melinda? Melinda is the only dragon she has ever heard of. So she is ashamed, hides her form until it becomes unbearable and she shifts alone in her home, filling the entire living room with shining dark blue and glittering silver scales, always leaving behind a scent of burnt tea and Lavender when she stretches her tight coil.       Phil is a more common form, simply a golden retriever that Melinda finds adorable. Sometimes he shifts to make her happy, running around her legs in circles, looking up at her with those big, round, soft blue eyes. He doesn’t ask for her to shift, has never seen her completely. He doesn’t judge her secrecy, understands it even, saying he knew someone who was a rat. (Melinda insists she is much more regal than a rat, of all things)       Life goes on until Phil’s friend, Maria, gives them a call about a girl that desperately needs a home. So the Coulson’s take her in, a little girl right out of the Hunan province in China, a new American name, Daisy, foreign to her ears, speaking rapidly in broken Mandarin that only Melinda understands.       One day, Daisy comes home early with Phil, and they walk outside into the backyard to find Melinda in her dragon form, and to Phil’s shock, Daisy screams with surprise and with a spark of light, becomes a dragon herself, finding her way to Melinda. Blue and silver scales shine with White and gold while a golden retriever yaps happily between them.
Hunger Games AU:    Hunger Games Victor Melinda May is living her quiet life with her husband Phil Coulson and single daughter, Daisy, in the Victor’s Village of district seven. But as the year’s days come closer and closer to the  reaping, Melinda suffers her annual PTSD from the horrors of her time in the arena, twelve years ago. Waking up in cold sweats or to the sound of her own scream is nothing new to  Melinda, her dreams haunted with the faces of the other tributes she’d watched die.    As her daughter nears fifteen, Melinda fears more and more until the inevitable happens; and Daisy is drawn as this year’s female tribute of District seven, alongside of Lincoln Campbell. Mournfully, Melinda is forced to accompany her own daughter on the train to The Capital, and give her five days of training and support before Daisy is thrust into the nightmare of the Hunger Games. Under strict orders from President Snow, Melinda has to force herself not to be biased while helping out both Daisy and Lincoln. While Phil watches at home, Melinda breaks while her daughter marches into a certain death sentence…
Star Wars AU:     Phil is the perfect Jedi. Bound to the code, completing all his missions successfully and with ease. Melinda? Melinda is a more radical Jedi. She breaks the code left and right, follows the force instead of the rules. She is unable to stay in one place for long, always moving with her fifth year Palawan, Daisy Johnson.      While on a mission, the two are paired up, living undercover as royals to another planet, Daisy poses as their princess daughter, meaning to try to swoon the prince, Robbie Reyes in order to get information while Jedi Masters May and Coulson search the palaces and crime families. But old fires are reignited, and Phil has to bury the feelings for Melinda while they advise Daisy to do the same, with the predicament at hand; Phil is hopelessly in love with Melinda, and Daisy might be in love with her perfect prince fit for a Jedi knight…
Matrix AU:     Living on the Zephyr, proud sister ship to the  Nebuchadnezzar, Captain Melinda May trains her new recruits, a handful of young adults fresh out of the Matrix. Her co-captain, Phil Coulson helps her as they navigate their confusing, underground world. But with a ship full of uncontrollable youngsters, the kids take it upon themselves to get the two captains together.
Demon AU:     When Audrey is killed in a car accident, Phil, under the guilt that it was his fault, takes it upon himself to revive his girlfriend. One night alone at a bar, he finds what he’s looking for. A woman who shimmers with an unearthly aura of sinful villainy. So Phil makes a deal, and Audrey is brought back, but Phil must stay with his new mistress: a demon under the name Melinda, better known as the Cavalry. He becomes her sex toy, like a human pet she keeps.  Phil soon discovers that the longer he stays with Melinda, the more hellish he becomes. Soon he has to make a choice; stay human, or accept his fate and find that there is more to Melinda then what meets his reddening eyes.      By the time Phil is no longer visible to the human eye unless he wills it, Phil has said goodbye to Audrey, and returned to Melinda’s side, ready to watch her belly grow. Somehow, someway, what was left of his human flesh has sparked a life inside his mistress, and Melinda is unsure what this means. As Phil falls for Melinda, the weight of his deal with her lessens, and therefor he pledges himself to her, for the rest of eternity.      When the child is born, Melinda misses her free days, and gives Phil their daughter, breaking off their deal. But Phil no longer wants Audrey. He wants to have Melinda back. So he sets off to reclaim her, all the while working through the surprises raising a half-demon child holds.
Writer/Editor  AU:     Phil is an esteemed author, having written the hits of the teen and young adult section. Melinda is an editor, desperate to get a job, and quick. She finds Phil in need of an Editor, and she snatches up the opportunity. As they spend more time together working though, Melinda starts to fall for him.      Daisy is Melinda’s adopted daughter. After school, she has found herself taking the bus to Phil’s house instead of her own. Her Mom is acting weird, more cheerful than usual and always talking about how wonderful her client’s book is going to be. Daisy just wants her mom back to herself again, without distracting men taking up her time. But on the flip side, Phil Coulson is a bright man who respects her, and always gives full attention to a conversation (Something Daisy craves). He’s kind and generous, even helps out when May sues her neighbor, Grant Ward, for sexual harassment. Daisy can’t help but not like Phil.     As Melinda edits Phil’s work, she finds herself more and more invested in him. Daisy is happier now, and Melinda has found someone she is truly comfortable talking to. When the book is finally finished, and Phil leaves for the press tour, Melinda misses him. Phil reveals that the main characters of his books are based off people he loves, and Melinda gets his memo immediately. There must be someone else.     Phil returns to May excited from the public’s reaction to his book, but disappointed when Melinda no longer sticks around. Eventually he puts the pieces together, explaining that the heroine of his book is based off Melinda herself.

Alrighty so since I’m bored let’s talk about a single dads au lmao:
The PJO/HoO boys have one of those dad groups where dads just get together while their kids play together and they just hang out and talk shit and drink juice boxes
Meet the ‘Hot Single Dads’ group:
Percy Jackson: the laidback and relaxed dad who the other dads sort of look to for advice because he seems to know what the fuck he’s doing. Juniper calls him a living miracle because he can get any screaming child to calm down in minutes. Has an eight year old son named Theo with an ex college girlfriend. Pining hard after Jason. Coaches his son’s swim team. Moms (and dads) love him. Teachers have a love hate relationship with him
Grover Underwood: the Epitome of the Stay At Home Dad. He’s got all the healthy snacks and a first aid kit on him at all times. Panics when his kid eats sand. Father to Willow (9), Nova (6), and Ash (2). Husband to Juniper. Allowed in the Hot Single Dads group because he’s Percy’s best friend since middle school and he’s got a lot of common sense and he’s great with kids. He’s also the one who tries to plan out meeting days around everyone’s busy schedules. Grover is the king of diy and crafts, and all the kids love him. All the neighborhood kids make Grover flower crowns during the summer and he'll wear them as long as he can before adding it to the collection of crafts kids have made him in his room
Frank Zhang: a nervous new dad fresh out of college who asks a lot of questions and has a lot of concerns. Has a four month old daughter named Anya with his best friend and ex-girlfriend Hazel. They met in high school and were best friends but didn’t date until college. But soon after realized they were better off as friends. Doesn’t go anywhere without Anya strapped to his chest. Works as a firefighter with Percy.
Nico di Angelo: not a dad yet because he’s in the process of adopting but hangs out with the group for advice and tips. The kids love him because he’s like their fun uncle. Accidentally got roped into babysitting Theo for a night once and realized he’s actually really great with kids and decided he wanted to adopt.
Leo Valdez: the dad who just does not give a fuck and also the fun dad. His kids eating a Cheeto they found in the sand? Shit happens. His twin boys, Mieczysław and Salvador (7), are menaces. Doesn’t like to show it but is constantly stressed out and worries that he’s not enough for his boys and wonders if he’s doing the right thing. He’s that one crazy wild friend from college you’re shocked to find out years later that they have a child. Leo is the one who introduces Jason to the group.
Jason Grace: new to the group as a newly single dad who’s worried he’s not enough. Has an eight year old son and a five year old daughter. Pining hard after Percy. Coaches his son’s baseball team. Moms (and dads) also love him. PTA Dad. The Mom™ friend turned Dad. Always has snacks, wet wipes, and hand sanitizer on hand. If you need anything, anything at all, there’s a 98% chance that Jason has it on hand. Shares joint-custody with his ex-wife and best friend Piper.
After his divorce from his ex-wife, Leo tells Jason about this Dad Support Group he’s in and that he should accompany him to their next meeting with the kids
Jason is skeptical at first but decides what’s the harm in going to one meeting
He wasn’t expecting to fall hopelessly in love at first sight with one of the other dads
“It’s Percy isn’t it? Can’t say I blame you. He’s got the looks of a Greek God.”
Leo teases him immensely for it and gives Jason a knowing look every time he catches him looking at Percy
Percy is a Terrible flirt
“So you coach your son’s baseball team? That’s great! Theo loves baseball.” “Dad I hate baseball.”
Grover likes to tease Percy for it but Percy reminds him that it took him two years just to gain the courage to hold Juniper’s hand
Aside from pining, Jason enjoys hanging out with the boys
He and Nico hit it off quite nicely. He also enjoys teasing Leo about his not-so-secret crush on Nico
He and Frank become workout buddies
Percy tried to join them on their workout days after Annabeth said he had the beginnings of a Dad Bod forming but between work, coaching Theo’s swim team and keeping up with his other long list of extracurricular activities, he just doesn’t have the time
He’s learning to embrace his Dad Bod
Grover has fully embraced the Dad Bod
Grover and Frank get along a lot because they’re both sorta nervous dads who worry about their kids a lot
And so Frank usually goes to Grover for all of his questions like “is this normal?” “She bumped her head is she okay?” “What can I do for this??”
And Grover gives him all sorts of advice and healthy snacks
Jason and Percy’s boys are competitive little buttwipes and are always getting into fights
“I bet I can run faster than you.” “I bet I can kick this ball farther than you.” “I bet I can swing higher than you.” “I bet I can study faster than you.”
Percy settles their arguments by getting in-between them, hauls his son over his shoulder, and brings him to the side and calmly talks to him in a low voice
Jason just watches like “Damn that shouldn’t have been that hot” before he realizes he probably should have a word with his son as well
Unfortunately for Jason he’s hopelessly in love and he’s like 99.9% sure Percy is dating Annabeth
Everyone thinks that Percy's in a relationship with Annabeth because they’re so close and she loves his kid
It also doesn’t help that Theo refers to Annabeth as ‘Mom’
So Jason just has to pine away and being the child he is, pulls at Percy's pigtails cause he can't deal with his crush
Frank decides to throw a fourth of July BBQ and Annabeth comes and Jason is trying to make conversation
Jason thinks he’s subtle but he’s not.
“Your son Theo is a very charming boy, very polite. You must be very proud.” “Theo isn’t my son.” “Oh, I’m so sorry. Are you his step mom?” “No. Godmother.”
Annabeth laughs at Jason’s confused face and goes “If I was looking for a romantic partner maybe but nah. Percy and I are just best friends. I babysit Theo a lot.” (She’s hella ace and aro)
It’s obvious that he likes Percy
And Percy being Percy, he can't see it
One night like a month before the BBQ, he’s over at Annabeth's drinking and lamenting about this beautiful blond dad(dy) who Leo introduced to their Hot Single Dads group who's "literally captain America Annabeth, I swear I would go to war for that ass"
Annabeth recruits Reyna and Rachel to help her get these two idiots together
Side plot, Nico's surprisingly good with kids, especially Leo's twin terrors, and they get together cause the twins Conspire™ and Plot™ to do so
Cue many Hallmark movie shenanigans
Nico is one of the only one who’s can actually get the little devils to listen and behave. Leo is in awe and in love.
Leo gets asked about his sons’ names a lot
Leo: “Those two little demons playing on the monkey bars are mine. Mischief and Managed.” Frank: “...you named your sons Mischief and Managed?” Leo: “No, of course not. That’s just what they like to be called.”
Calypso is half Greek and half Polish and wanted to name Mieczysław after her grandfather. Unfortunately Mieczysław could never quite pronounce his name correctly so he goes by Mischief instead
Calypso also wanted to name Salvador after a character from Game of Thrones but Leo had to draw the line at Drogon. He already agreed to Mieczysław, he wasn’t naming his son Daenerys or Drogon
And since the twins are really into Harry Potter and Mieczysław goes by Mischief, Sal likes to go by Managed
Percy originally created Struggling Dads (Leo later changed the name to ‘Hot Single Dads Who Are Also Fortunately Not Heterosexual’) so his son could learn how to socialize and hopefully make some friends. He immediately regretted everything once he met Leo’s twin terrors
The children basically make up the Marauders irl
