please can we stop describing bigots as delusional. please. im so fucking tired. someone being sucked into a hate group surrounded by others who believe minorities should be oppressed and encouraging them to believe in conspiracy theories that the rest of the group believes, is fundamentally different from someone having a mental illness that causes delusions.
delusions, by definition, cannot be explained by things like cultural background - such as having a belief constantly reinforced by intentional attempts to rationalize it for the sake of maintaining power over minorities. yes, someone can be both delusional and a bigot, and yes conspiracy theories can feed into delusions, but the two are not fucking synonymous.
i did not spend my teen years convinced that i was being stalked by demons just to hear so many of you people equate my disability with incel behavior and genocidal propaganda. stop reinforcing harmful connotations about mental health struggles.

"The number of teenage abortions in Finland fell by 66% between 2000 and 2023, its public health institute THL said on Monday, attributing the reduction to the offer of free contraception to adolescents and compulsory sex education in schools.
Finland also passed a law in 2022 liberalising abortion, at a time of deep divisions over abortion rights in Europe and court rulings in the U.S. that restricted access to terminations of unwanted pregnancies for millions of people there.
The number of abortions among women under 20 rose during the 1990s in Finland, which led the Nordic country to respond at the start of the 2000s by making morning-after pills available without prescription from 15 years of age and sexual education compulsory in all schools.
"We can assume that sexual education plays a significant role," THL's research professor Mika Gissler told Reuters, adding that increased access to contraception from a young age was another factor behind the change.
The number of abortions fell 66% to 722 in 2023 from 2,144 in 2000 among all teenagers aged 19 or younger in Finland, while the drop was even steeper at 78% among those under 18 in the same period, THL's statistics showed.
"Since the latter half of the 2010s, the decline in the number of young people's abortions has also been influenced by the introduction of free contraception in many welfare regions," THL wrote in a report...
Under the 2022 liberalisation, Finland from September 2023 stopped requiring women to give a reason for having an abortion, making it available upon a pregnant person's request during the first 12 weeks of pregnancy.
[Note: That's actually not a very long window for abortion! Many conservative states in the US have actually instituted 12-week bans, and it's caused terrible upheaval and limits to medical services. Sounds like Finland should liberalize further, imho! Still, important progress!]
THL said it was too early to conclude whether the legislative change, which took effect last year, will have an impact on the number of abortions."

Something that's important to realize is that men do not view their hatred of women as political or as a personal viewpoint. When men say things like women are less than men or stupid or not good for anything or that they belong in the kitchen, they view it as a natural fact of the world. They're fine saying vile shit about women because they firmly believe those things to be basic truth. They view it as natural order. To them it's as true as the sky being blue. They don't consider their views to be subjective. They think everyone feels how they do and the ones who don't are too stupid to recognize very simple truth. If you've ever wondered why a man would feel comfortable freely saying something offensive about women, that's why. To them, women being less complex than men is as simple as saying that humans need food to eat.

Hiccup was a runt, the most awkward, frailest guy around. He was created with the intent of being someone who's different from everyone else; both in his design and story. Someone who's weak around people who value strenght, someone who befriends dragons while others want to kill them. Hiccup makes up for his physical weakness with compassion and trying to bring peace to both sides.
Which is why in his every iteration after the first movie (+ ROB); Hiccup is a 6'1, modern beauty standart who can easily beat everyone in combat no matter how more build or/and experienced they are, unless the writers decide they need to higher the stakes, or they have other characters fight the enemy for him.

i dont think non-transmasc allies realize that- it's actually their job to uplift our voices and make us more visible. it's actually their job to bring others awareness to us and to advocate for us. it's their job to use the platform they have to talk about us, accurately portray our struggles and/or bring trans guys into the discussion to talk about our problems. we can only do so much alone and if no one else is advocating for us, then people are less likely to listen and take us seriously.
y'know how white men hafta talk to other white men for them to actually listen about and understand the struggles of people of color? it's like that. people of your own demographic are more willing to listen to you than listen to the people you're advocating for, unfortunately, but that is the reality. you need to bring us on when you're having discussions about us or at least get your info from transmascs if you're going to talk about us w/o us there. I can shout at the top of my lungs about trans men everyday but at the end of the day it doesnt reach as much people. it's the responsibility of people with more visibility and a platform to boost our voices and message.

my heart dropped when i read the statement that sm put out re: taeil, genuinely the last thing i expected to read today. i’m shocked, disappointed, but most of all- i’m angry.
angry at what he’s done, angry at seeing some fans defend him, angry at those turning this into a gotcha moment to promote or lift their faves up. please, this isn’t just some discussion on the internet- there is a very real victim, a very real woman at the heart of all this. i hope she gets the justice and healing she deserves.

PLEASE STOP HARASSING DECK NINE DEVS AND LIS PLAYERS WHO DON'T AGREE WITH YOU.
Death threats are not okay.
Telling people to kill themselves is not okay.
Harassing people over fictional ships is not okay.
Harassing people over their opinion of a game is not okay.
Harassing already overstressed, overworked employees is not okay. ESPECIALLY since it's been documented they've been working under discriminatory and predatory management, been through multiple crunches, and have an unidentified neo-Nazi on their team who management did not properly address and fire.
You can still be critical of a game and not harass the people who made it. Hell, you can absolutely hate a game and still be respectful to the people who made it. I'm sure the creators are far more likely to listen to the fans if we give constructive criticism than if we irresponsibly and cruelly send threats.
I know most people who see this haven't sent hate, and to those people: this post isn't about you. I massively respect you for maintaining your rationality and empathy. But for those who have sent hate or are thinking of doing so, please reconsider. Sending hate isn't going to change anything; it'll only break the fandom even further apart and stress out overworked employees. If you're going to be mad, be mad at the higher-ups at Square Enix for turning the franchise into a cash cow and at the upper management at Deck Nine for overworking and alienating their employees. (Also be mad at that 1 neo-Nazi because seriously, WTF!?)
But please, even to the worst of the worst, do not send death threats or harass people.

That part.
I never liked how back when atsv was poppin last summer all the edits and group art pieces would come out and they’d exclude Margo completely. It was hard for me to bigup the cool content because the blatant exclusion of the only young black female Spider-Man was annoying to me. (I haven’t even gotten started on ms.jess drew!)
The fandom swore the part she played in the movie was sooo insignificant. They hated the idea of her being a potential love interest, made it clear they didn’t care for her 2 sec inclusion(issue on the producer side because she deserved more screen time periodt.), tried to invalidate her Spider-Man identity because her concept is cool and different and not the traditional ‘bit by a spider’. 🙄😒
Art imitates life tho 🤔
And then would prioritize Mayday or Ben fkn’ Riley in the drawings before they could ever think to fit Margo in a corner somewhere. That’s how I knew they wasn’t really fkn with us.

🦓❤️
Okay, autism is an every single day challenge, being autistic often means we’re extremely sensitive to things in our environments (External factors) and even things in our own minds/bodies (Internal factors). Sometimes this makes us uncomfortable to the point where we snap! Thinking “If I weren’t autistic, this wouldn’t be happening!”. I decided to tell you guys, what I LIKE about being autistic today! Rather than just my challenges:
🦓Having my autism service dog. Eevee has changed my life (And so has my previous service dogs, River and Viva). She’s able to calm me down with just a few kisses (Licks). I wouldn’t have met any of my pup friends if I wasn’t autistic because I wouldn’t have a service dog
🦓My “Autistic joy”. I can see the world in a way that makes some specific little things fill me with happiness! Stimming with something as simple as running water, tapping buttons or waving my hands, I feel very happy experiencing something that most wouldn’t even notice. Also, I can watch the same videos over and over because they’re never boring to me! I love collecting videos to watch at any time. Pokémon amplifies this by 100% (My special interest)
🦓My neurodivergent friends. I was in special education for middle school and high school. I wouldn’t have met my wonderful classmates teachers, educational assistants, etc. if I wasn’t autistic! Some were Down syndrome, some were cerebral palsy, some were autistic like me and many more. I’m so glad I met them! Good times!
🦓My imagination. I love creating stories by writing and it really is my purpose! I can almost live a fictional situation/scene inside my head and make something out of that. Most of my stories are based on my experiences (My main character is often autistic too!). I’m not saying a non-autistic person can’t write a good book, I just think I provide a fresh perspective!
Hopefully that makes you feel a bit better about being autistic, maybe take some time to reflect on these things and see if you feel them too!

this was originally going to be a post that was like "now why did ilona maher's dwts performance make me tear up" and be sort of joking but i actually want to write about it. there's something about a woman who is so strong and so powerful and so good at what she does showing off her muscles, showing off her athleticism, but not in a way that is directly related to athleticism. she is dancing (yes very athletic but that's another conversation) in a fairly revealing dress and she looks amazing. she is feminine and graceful and elegant and she does it all while having a not traditionally feminine body and i love it so much. there are so many times when women who are muscular, women who don't fit the stereotype, are stereotyped into more masculine roles, personalities, etc, regardless of their actual feelings on it and people do it to her too and this performance just feels like her showing who she is and declaring that you can be both - you can be athletic and feminine, that you can be muscular and elegant - and i just appreciate it so so much, she's amazing and a role model and just everything i wish i could've seen when i was younger

Oh my goddddddd the lesson Percy Jackson gave about gender wasn't 'teaching young boys positive, soft masculinity',it was 'you don't have to be masculine if you don't want to'.Not 'you don't have to be traditionally masculine, there's other kinds of masculinity!!',just 'you don't gotta be masc if you don't wanna'.Percy never had an arc about 'embracing' masculinity and manhood and has neutral to negative feelings on it,very understandable considering all the older men in the series are dogshit and a couple of the ones Percy's age ain't good either, notably in a racist and/or misogynistic way.Percy's also played as the best hero ever for these things so if anything,Percy is so not a case of 'Dudes Rock'(insane ass and unhinged thing to say about PERCY JACKSON of all characters btw)that she lends to a transfem reading more anything to do with men.Trans women exist, remember? And i don't see any reason Percy isn't one, especially seeing as the effects of transfem transition play perfectly into giving Percy a happy ending she's always wanted i.e feminizing herself to escape manhood, gaining self-confidence and creating her own destiny over what society wants for her.Why should Percy be masculine to fufill a quota that literally every other amab/'male' protagonist already does?Name a trans woman. And stop turning a punk activist and anarchist transfem mom friend into your male power fantasy self-insert to get vengeance on the canon the cast for being 'the female species' and not oldhead abusive men you think every other dude is obsessed with too,you 'Dark Percy' hoes are embarrassing

I genuinely believe that if Kyojuro was a real dude in our generation, he would be a teacher for children with special needs out of all things.
I mean that man is so incredibly patient, kind and selfless. Not a lot of people are willing to handle children with special needs, but he would give it his all and amazing devotion. He does not mind that some students won't talk to him. They'll come around to him eventually.
I mean, history teacher is cool and all too, but I really think a teacher for children with special needs fits him a lot better.

i’m sorry but I’ll never be out here saying that absolutely no women are complicit in patriarchy. Yeah some women like the ones in Afghanistan are pure victims, but a lot of us in a more privileged position have education and choices and still choose complicity and ignorance.
