sad beginnings,
Tumblr media
summary - everyone sees you as this weird and crazy ravenclaw. everyone except remus and sirius. part 2
pairing - ravenclaw!reader x wolfstar
word count - ~1.5k
tw: angst | no happy ending (yet) | bullies | blood | scratches | self deprecation | she pronouns used
[part 1] [part 3]
Your face stung like a swarm of bees.
The pace you were running through the corridors, causing the cold wind to cut through the cat scratches on your face were so sore. Cat scratches that had been put there purposefully by someone who didn’t like you; Darcy.
Her and her band of Ravenclaw elites thought they ran the House, including Philip who was like the devil incarnate. They have never liked you and have turned the majority of the school against you, claiming that you’re weird and crazy.
Weird? Maybe. Crazy? Well, you certainly wouldn’t use your pet cat to scratch out someone’s cheek just because you had a little more power over them.
Now you were going to have to walk in late to Potions, all because you’d left your textbook in your dorm and then had a run-in with Darcy and her cat.
You’d cleaned up the wound the best you could, but it was just so sore now.
The tears stung in your eyes, willing you to set them free. However, you had already figured out that tears in your cuts were worse than holding back the tears.
You took a deep breath before walking into the Potions class that Professor Slughorn taught.
He didn’t particularly care for favourites and he didn’t really have least favourites, but he did make a deal about his students being late to his lessons.
The door made a loud screech as it opened. Way to walk in subtly.
You kept your head down as everyone’s eyes turned to yours.
Lots of whispering started up and it no doubt had everything to the scratches down your cheek, and the fact you were never ever late.
“Ah. Nice of you to join us, Miss L/N.” Professor Slughorn spoke, making you cringe at his tone.
“Sorry I’m late, Sir.” You looked up at him and saw him cringe in return as he saw your cheek. He made no move to comment on it though.
“Take a seat now, please. See me after class for a detention.”
You shamefully dropped your head. Now your perfect record would be screwed over.
Sirius dramatically stood up from his chair, the sound of metal upon the stone floor grating everyone’s ears to pieces.
“Actually that won’t be necessary, Sir. Y/N gave me her textbook since I’d forgotten mine at breakfast, so Y/N went to the Hall for me to retrieve it. Wouldn’t want your precious textbooks going missing, Professor.”
“Oh, well, never mind then.” Slughorn shrugged. Sirius knew he was wrapped around Slughorn’s finger and used it to his advantage to save you a detention.
You looked over to him and smiled in thanks, but Sirius didn’t smile back. Neither did Remus. They were both looking at you with concern, or at least what you thought was concern. It might be anger for nearly getting them in trouble.
James tugged on Sirius’ shirt for him to sit down again. Sirius tugged away from him though, fists clenching against his sides as he watched you.
You attempted to find a seat then.
You walked over to a table full of other Ravenclaw girls in your year, but the one empty seat at the table instantly became unavailable as a girl dumped her bag on the chair next to her.
“Seats taken.”
“Oh, sorry.” You said softly, walking to another table where there were only three of them sat. Plenty of room.
You went to pull out a chair next to one of the guys there, only to realise there was black ink all over the stool for some reason - meaning it was also unavailable.
“Tough luck.” One of the boys said and the rest snickered.
“Miss L/N, why don’t you just go and sit over there.” Slughorn pointed his hand over to where an empty table was. It should’ve seated 6 people, but currently no one was sat there.
You nodded your head and quickly made your way to the table before any more attention could be drawn towards you.
It was a table at the back of the room and quite far out of sight of the blackboard, making it difficult to copy out the notes. You tried your best.
At one point during the lesson you turned your head to the wall to let out a few tears, knowing no one could see you. A few salty tears burned over your wound, but you bit on your lip to cover the sob that wanted to erupt from your chest.
This really fucking sucked.
You were all for self-wallowing, but when it was in the middle of a class you hated it.
There was a time and a place for it and it was not here and it wasn’t now.
You dug your blunt fingernails, from all the anxious biting, into your palms to suppress the emotions you wanted to let out. Focusing on the lesson and Slughorn’s words were your best chance of getting through this.
You were busy writing away, trying to keep up with the notes, when you felt someone sit down next to you. Your natural instinct was to tense and shuffle away only slightly, because who wanted to sit next to you if not to torment you further?
“Y/N?”
You were shocked to see Remus sat next to you.
“Oh, hi, Remus. Are you okay? Am I in the way or something?” You looked around you to make sure you weren’t.
“No, no! We- I mean, I, just wanted to ask you something?” He stumbled over his words.
“Sure.”
“Uh.. Well….”
“Oh my God, Remus! Are you okay?” You gasped when you saw a cut along his forehead, which was hidden beneath his hair and you’d only seen because of how close you were sitting.
So close, in fact, that you could smell his cologne: Cedar wood and… something else.
“Me? Are you seriously asking me that right now?” He looked shocked and you blushed like mad.
“I’m so sorry. I shouldn’t have asked, it wasn’t my place. I apologise.” You shook your head and tried to refocus on your work.
“Y/N…” Remus said ever so softly.
His voice was so pretty. So delicate.
Sirius’ was more rough and deeper. Both were a song to listen to.
You didn’t reply, thinking that if you just ignored them he wouldn’t be mad at you anymore. Because he was mad, right? You shouldn’t have questioned something so personal about him.
“Y/N?” He asked again.
You’d never get over hours name sounded coming from him.
Slowly, you tilted your head towards him. Instead of being met with a furious gaze you were met with something much softer. His warm eyes looked troubled.
You looked at him nervously, hoping for the best out of whatever this situation was.
He reached up a hand towards your face, a couple of rings placed on his ridiculously well structured fingers. You followed the movement of his hand, whilst Remus followed your eyes.
His fingers carefully brushed your fallen hair that covered your cheek and only slightly pushed it to the side, his fingers barely touching your skin.
You let out a shaky breath.
You were one to wear your emotions on your sleeve and Remus had you feeling very nervous in that moment. Not nervous like you’d been around Darcy or Philip. A different kind. A better kind.
“Who did this to you?” He asked.
You looked up to see him studying the cuts like you’d seen him in the library studying for a test. He was trying to map out all the details of your scratches, so it seemed.
“What?”
“Please, Y/N. Let us know who did this to you? Hell, even what did this?”
“Us?” Was the word you chose to focus on.
“Yes—.”
“Mr Lupin, there’s a time and a place for funny business and it won’t be in my classroom.” Slughorn broke whatever moment had happened between you and Remus.
Remus had been quick to drop your hair, apologise and return to his seat.
Your cheeks flushed red with the thought of someone catching you looking, almost, intimate with Remus.
Oh God.
What if Sirius had seen?
You looked over to where Remus had rejoined Sirius. Remus was whispering to Sirius whilst you watched Sirius’ jaw click.
The chill that surpassed you when Sirius turned to face you across the room told you everything you needed to know.
Stay. The hell. Away. From. My boyfriend.
•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•-•
As Slughorn finished the class Remus quickly tried to stuff everything into his satchel before everyone left without him.
“C’mon! Hurry up!” Sirius urged him - only because he obviously didn’t have his own bag and made Remus carry everything.
“Shut it.” Remus snipped, shoving his textbook in his bag before grabbing his cloak and moving.
“Hey, calm down.” Sirius tried to soothe him, slipping his hand into Remus’.
“Calm down— Are you insane?”
“A bit.”
“How am I supposed to be calm when half of Y/N’s face is missing?” Remus whisper shouted and Sirius quickly pushed him back against a stone wall for a time-out.
“Calm down. I mean it, Rem.”
Remus let the cool of the stone wall sink in through his skin and allow him to breathe again.
He didn’t know what was coming over him recently.
“Y/N’s gone now, because I couldn’t pull myself together.” Remus sighed.
Sirius brought his hand up to cup underneath Remus’ chin lightly, making it so he had no choice but to look at him.
“Look at me.” Remus tried to move away, but Sirius’ hands held strong. “Hey, don’t. Look at me. We are going to find Y/N and get to the bottom of whatever has happened, okay? But you need to calm down first.”
Remus let his shoulders exhale and he nodded. “Okay.”
Sirius smiled, leaning in to give Remus a few kisses. One for listening to him and another just because he loved him so much. Sirius could really feel Remus calming down after those.
“I just… Y/N is… she means…” Remus struggled to find the right words to say, but it didn’t really matter.
“I know. She means the same to me.”
Sirius rested his forehead against Remus, as they calmed each other and maybe one day hoping you’d be right there beside them.

could i request poly!wolfstar or poly!jily where they’re pursuing reader and reader accidentally matches with them (like matching costumes) at a halloween party?
i think the teasing and flirting would be so cute!! 🥰
Thanks for requesting!
cw: mention of alcohol, smoking, Sirius makes lame and humorously objectifying jokes
poly!wolfstar x fem!reader ♡ 1.5k words
You arrive to the party late, the Gryffindor common room already bustling by the time you and your friends have finished doing your last-minute costume alterations. There are glowing pumpkins floating on the ceiling, someone has charmed the room so that a thick layer of fog drifts along the floor, and the air already smells slightly of booze and cigarette smoke.
You lose Lily’s attention immediately, but that’s to be expected. You’re more than accustomed by now to her searching for her boyfriend whenever you enter a room. What’s unexpected, however, is her reaction when she finds him.
“Uh oh.
“Uh oh?” You look at her, following her gaze to the couch across the room. “Oh. Oh, no.”
Lily laughs. “It sort of seems like fate, doesn’t it? I think it’s sweet.”
Sitting on their usual couch are the marauders. James, predictably, is wearing a costume matching Lily’s; they’ve both come as cowboys. Unfortunately, Sirius and Remus are sitting next to him dressed as pirates.
You’re also dressed as a pirate.
“It’s not sweet,” you moan. “If I go back up, do you think Marlene will make me some of her fake blood? I can change and be a vampire instead.”
Lily hums. “Think it’s too late for that, babe.”
She’s looking back towards the couch, where the boys have already caught sight of the pair of you. Sirius is beaming something atrocious, and even Remus looks amused while his boyfriend waves you over exuberantly.
Lily takes your hand in hers, tugging you with her as she goes to them.
“Howdy, darlin’.” James puts on an exaggerated southern drawl as you approach, opening his arms to his girlfriend.
“My, my,” says Sirius as you sit between him and Lily, “don’t you look nice.”
You ignore the warmth that brings to your face. “The point wasn’t really to look nice.”
Your costume is thrown together from things you already had, the only thing that really distinguishes you as a pirate being the bandana you’ve tied around your head. Remus appears to have gone a similar route, although the white shirt he’s tucked into his pants looks a bit more on-theme than yours and he’s clearly been forced to wear an eye patch which is currently flipped up so that it’s not covering anything. Sirius, of course, does nothing halfway. He’s wearing a billowy black top that’s been unbuttoned nearly to his navel, more belts and buckles than you knew one person could have, and a captain’s hat he surely bought just for the occasion. Altogether, you make a fairly fearsome group.
“Not sure you can help it, gorgeous.” Sirius winks at you. “You always look nice. Did you plant a spy to find out what you needed to wear to match us, then?”
You roll your eyes good-naturedly. “I should probably be asking you that.”
“Must’ve just been fate,” Sirius says. It’s so close to what Lily said that your cheeks blaze, but you also don’t know if you quite believe him. Remus, too, turns to give his boyfriend a questioning look.
Sirius catches it and scoffs, holding up his hands. “I didn’t! Honestly.”
Remus nods, appeased. In a less booming voice than his boyfriend’s, he tells you, “You do look very nice.”
“Thanks.” You catch yourself fingering the ends of your hair like a nervous schoolgirl and tuck your hands underneath your thighs. “So do both of you.”
Sirius grins knowingly, and you have to fight the urge to shove your face into Lily’s shoulder for refuge. He knows as well as you do that for all of his brazen flirting, it’s Remus’ quiet sincerity that flusters you the most. You’re not sure when it started, exactly, but it’s been clear for some time now that both boys are interested in you. You’re not sure in what capacity—they could want to take you to bed for one night, integrate you into their relationship, or anything in between—but as of yet you’ve neither encouraged nor discouraged their advances.
“Thanks, dollface.” Sirius gives a winsome crack of a smile. “You know, I’ve already acquired some booty, but I wouldn’t mind winning some more.”
“Sirius…” Remus groans.
You feel your eyebrows pinch. “Some what?”
“You know, like pirate’s loot? My booty.” Sirius sidles closer to Remus, giving his thigh a solid pat.
Remus’ eyes narrow. “I will leave you here and go back upstairs right now.” It sounds as though this is not the first time this has been threatened.
“I worked hard for it!” Sirius defends himself.
You cover your mouth against an appalled giggle. “It?”
“I toiled, and I fought, and I had to battle many other fearsome ships! It’s mine.”
“Remus,” you stage whisper, “blink twice if you need help.”
Remus’ smile blooms, but when he starts to blink Sirius objects, “Oi!”
“No,” you correct him, “you’re supposed to say ‘arr.’”
Sirius is grinning again, too, clearly chuffed that you’re joking around with them even if it is at his expense. “If I say ‘arr,’ you’ll agree to be my second booty for the rest of the night?”
“I won’t make any promises. But it would be persuasive.”
He growls enthusiastically, “Arrrrgh!” and slams his fist down on the table. The sound it makes is enough to tear James and Lily’s attention away from each other.
“Merlin,” says James. “Did’ya hurt yourself there, Pads?”
“No,” Sirius replies, but he gives his hand a little shake.
Remus, rolling his eyes, takes it and kisses the side. He brings it into his lap for safekeeping. Your heart gives a painful little throb.
You must have some stupid lovestruck look on your face, because Lily peers around James to see you better, a smile playing on her lips. She knows about your crushes on the two boys, just as well as she knows that you haven’t decided what to do about them yet. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t like to help you along.
“Come on,” she says to James, standing and taking him with her. “Let’s dance, and I’ll let you pretend to lasso me.”
James beams. “Yes!”
You watch them go while Sirius seizes the opportunity to move to your other side, the three of you taking up the entirety of the couch.
“Phew,” he sighs, swinging his feet over the armrest.
“You may want to take your legs out of the fog,” Remus suggests, also using the new space to bring his feet onto the couch. “It gets sticky after a while.”
You frown but do as he says, pulling your feet from your shoes so that only your socks are on the couch. And sure enough, when you touch a finger to your ankle it feels like there’s an odd sort of coating over it.
“I thought it was just fog,” you say.
“It was supposed to be,” agrees Sirius, “but James entrusted the task of making it to Marlene, and there are some who think she might’ve laced it with some sort of drink.”
“I’m some,” Remus owns.
You smile. “So is the point that you should be able to…drink the fog?”
“No clue.” Sirius leans over the edge of the couch. “Let’s find out.”
“Sirius, no,” Remus says weakly, trailing off when it’s clear the other boy won’t be deterred. You both watch as he sucks in what fog he can, closing his mouth around it. “That’s disgusting, everyone’s been walking around in it.”
“I think it might be brandy,” Sirius muses. “It’s faint, though.”
Remus frowns. “I’m not kissing you until you brush your teeth.”
Sirius grins. “Yes, you are.”
“We’ll see, won’t we?”
“Wouldn’t you rather just get your own drink?” you ask Sirius. “Rather than sampling the faint traces of brandy that have been touched by other people’s shoes, I mean.”
“Oh, rest assured, gorgeous, I’m all covered.” Sirius picks a cup up from the table. He seems to notice at the same moment that you don’t have a cup of your own. “Would you like one, though?”
You glance to the table cluttered with alcohol and mixers, a throng of students clustered around it. “I’ll get one in a bit.”
“Let me.” Sirius stands. He edges around the table, stopping to pinch your chin affectionately and give his boyfriend a kiss. “Rem, my love, keep her company, would you?”
“You don’t have to,” you object. “I can get it.”
“No, don’t be ridiculous. A pirate has to take care of his booty, hasn’t he?”
“I never agreed to that!” you call after him. In a quieter voice, you add, “And I don’t think that’s how the relationship between a pirate and their booty works.”
“Let him go,” Remus advises you. You startle a bit when his hand finds your knee, resting there in fond commiseration. “If he’s going to degrade us like this, he can at least bring us drinks.”
You feel your lips tilt. “Are you really going to let him call you his booty all night?”
“Probably.” Remus shrugs, his eyes finding his boyfriend across the room. “Anyway, it’s nice not to be alone in it. As far as he’s concerned, you’re already his as well.”

thinking about how mean!bf sirius would have a hugeee corruption kink, he just wants to ruin your mind yk
idk maybe its just me
i think mean or not, it is definite that sirius black has a corruption kink and it unquestionably couples with his possessive nature.
just imagine mean bf ! sirius meeting you for the first time. you’re a timid, but undoubtedly kind individual who is meek next to him—fully aware of sirius’ notoriety in his personality and habits. he becomes so awestruck, he has nothing to respond to your unassuming questions aside from the occasional nod or gentle murmur.
he displays a calm, relatively friendly aura until the pair of you begin to become acquainted with each other and ultimately, begin dating. it is only then, that the mean teasing and snickers begin, and his heart bursts with joy at the sound of your bashful whines and protests every time he playfully slaps your ass or tugs your skirt, laughing and pulling you close to him, muttering how his actions are all in good fun and that he’d never let anything actually hurt you.
‘so bloody sensitive. y’know i’d rather die than let someone lay a hand on you, dummy.’
and of course, sirius isn’t stupid. he’s been having lewd, perverted thoughts about you since the day he met you. in fact, it was only the same night that sirius cast a silencing charm around his bed to hide the sinful sounds of him grunting as he fisted his cock, thoughts about bending you over the classroom desk polluting his already depraved mind.
since you’ve started dating, he reckons it’s time to manifest these fantasies into life, especially after noticing how your meek gaze has begun to linger on his broad chest and widen at the sight of his bulging crotch. his inner self beams with joy and crude anticipation every time he feels you pawing at his thighs, looking up at him in despair as if you’re unsure of what you really want or why the throbbing ache in between your thighs is only getting worse.
i think mean bf ! sirius would definitely become dizzy at the sight of you on your knees, hands gripping his muscular thighs, begging him to let you suck his cock or to fill your cunt up. usually he was the one doing the begging, but here you were, pliant, obedient, and desperate for his every touch. he genuinely has to sit down and stare at you while also controlling the immoral urge of forcing his cock down your throat, watching how your eyes widen and become teary as your throat contracts and chokes around his pulsating cock.
he genuinely cannot control himself once he sees you fully submit to him, begging him to give you the exact things you were too shy about even insinuating merely a month ago. it makes him feel so accomplished knowing that he was the one that made your brain all cloudy and fuzzy—that he was the one who got your cunt hooked on the feeling of his relentless, unforgiving cock.
‘sirius—my fingers—they’re not good enough—need your cock in me—jus’ want you to ruin ‘n abuse me—please da—’ as soon as you become close to uttering the last word, he’s already lifted up your skirt and forced his cock inside your aching pussy anyways, groaning into your mouth and fucking you ten times harder than he would have any other day.
‘slut—you’ve become a little slut—oh, fuck—‘n who’s are you, huh?’
it becomes the first time that sirius loses all sense of reason and caution as it has become evident to him that he’s irreversibly corrupted you into becoming just as disgusting and perverted as him.
‘nah, not sirius’, honey, you're daddy’s, yeah?’
‘gross fuckin’ bitch loves that, huh, puppy? you like it when daddy forces himself inside you like that, hm?’
‘hogwarts newest slut, yeah? but only mine, isn’t that right? only i get to ruin—fuck—this whorish cunt—mmm,’
sirius is so mean, he doesn’t even tell you when he’s about to cum :( he makes you cum and afterward, you’re a fucked out mess because he just doesn’t stop. your eyebrows begin to furrow and you can only manage to mumble a quiet ‘sirius?’ before he groans into your neck, breath all hot and heavy, and pumps you full of his hot, sticky cum. all you can do is whine and writhe beneath him as he pushes your knees to your chest and uses your cunt to drain his massive cock.
all the while, he’s reveling in the realization that he has just cummed inside you and that if spells and birth control were forgotten, it would be no surprise if you fell pregnant with the copious amounts of cum pumped inside your spent hole.
‘my dirty girl likes when daddy breeds her, doesn’t she? oh, don’t shake your head, pup, i know you like it—can feel you clench—god—around me right now.’
sirius gets so turned on when you confess that you can’t make yourself cum without him ever since the two of you started having sex. the image of you crying out in frustration at the feeling of your own neediness and the dull throbbing in between your sore thighs—incapable of doing anything without his guidance—makes his cock harden far quicker than it should have.
‘poor thing. my dumb girl can’t do anything without me, can she? your small fingers just aren’t as daddy, hm?’ paired with a faux, mocking frown because sirius black is an asshole that is very visibly ecstatic that you’ll always have to come to him to find a release.
and nothing fuels his ego more than having you beg him to stuff you full of his cum before class begins. he loses his mind seeing the effects of ruining your perfect, angelic interior. his once smart, goody-two-shoes, good-girl has become a conniving slut, her own cunt betraying any logic or rational thinking within her mind :( seeing his shy, perfect-attendance girlfriend begging him to skip class with her to fuck in a dingy broom closet is all it takes for him to bust right then and there.

Hiii could you do marauders x reader who has a stuffed animal from when she was a baby that she hides from them and maybe they find it one night when they’re all going to be :)))
There’s a battered yellow bear on your bed. As best as you’ve tried, your bear is old and has had his fair share of rotations in the washer and dryer.
He’s aged but you love him.
In that love, you can’t bear to put him anywhere else.
That kind of comes to bite you in the ass when your boyfriends are over for the first time.
Remus has made you a cup of nighttime tea, Sirius has just come out of the shower and James lays his head in your lap, curls bouncy on your thigh.
“Your soap is the best thing ever.” Sirius moans as he throws himself into the sofa.
It’s a honey and cream soap, the scent soft and a little clean. It smells like you is what Sirius means to say.
Remus smiles as you grin. “I’m glad you like it.” Sirius has always been vocal about how great you smell; be it your soap, laundry detergent, perfume: Sirius loves it all.
“Can we go to bed?” A yawn breaks apart James’ question, eyes heavy as you pet his head.
“Course Jamie.” You whisper, watching him stretch to standing and reaching an arm back to you.
Remus and Sirius follow, your mugs discarded in the table for tomorrow morning.
“Are we all gonna fit in your bed?” Sirius asks and you roll your eyes. James pushes open your door and your stomach drops.
There in the middle of your bed, on top of your Christmas sheets and duvet, sits your yellow bear with his roughed up ear and his red shirt.
“Oh dove,” Remus coos and you feel your blood rush faster.
“Don’t.” You mumble, but Sirius has already launched himself onto your bed and is cradling your bear.
“What’s his name?” Sirius asks, James following him in bed and sprawling out long before tickling under your bear’s chin.
“How long have you had him?” Remus asks, voice soft in an attempt to keep you from embarrassment.
It doesn’t help. You’re not embarrassed you have a stuffed animal, just that they’ve seen it so casually.
“Since I was a kid.” You mutter, Sirius leans off the bed and presses a kiss to the closest part of you.
“You’re fucking precious.”
You climb in bed and take him from Sirius, pressing a kiss to the back of the bear’s head and then James’.
“I for one think he’s very adorable, angel.”
Remus seconds the claim. “He is. Are you putting him between us or on the nightstand, baby?”
He’s buttering you up, and it works.
“Between us if that’s fine.”
Sirius holds your chin and smacks a kiss to your lips. “Of course it’s fine. You’re adorable.”
You sleep with James on one end, you beside him, your bear, then Sirius and Remus on the other end; cuddling well into the morning.

“Riri,” Regulus whispered through a crack of the bathroom door.
Sirius, who was walking past turned to look at him. “Hey Reg, what’s up?”
“Come here” Regulus whispered. He hoped his brother would approve of him.
Sirius steps into the bathroom and shuts the door behind him softly. When he turns around his mouth drops. Regulus, who once had long flowing black hair, had cut it above his ears.
“Reg you can’t- you-“ Sirius sputtered, touching the hair carefully.
Regulus’s face dropped. “You don’t like it?” Regulus asked, frowning.
“Oh no, I love it. You look amazing but-“
“I wanted to be like you” Regulus said softly, grasping at Sirius’s hand.
Sirius, who was only 14, nodded carefully. “Okay, Reg. Shit.”
“What? What’s wrong?” Regulus asked. Sirius was turned away, Regulus trying to look into his eyes.
They heard heels click on the stairs and Sirius turned to Regulus, putting his hands on either sides of his face. “I am so so proud of you. You look amazing and you’re doing so good. I love you.” Sirius said before kicking the door open and dragging Regulus out in front of their mother. “Maman! Look what I did to Reg’s hair!”
Regulus swallowed harshly. “Maman I-“
Sirius slapped a hand over his mouth. “Doesn’t she look good!”
Walburga’s eyes narrowed as she grasped Sirius by the arm and took him to the foyer. Regulus could hear the cries of pain as he sobbed to himself in his bedroom.

Just thinking about Sirius testing tattoo ideas on you...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It starts innocently enough. You’re stretched out on the common room floor, Sirius cross-legged beside you, your leg draped lazily across his lap. His quill dances over your calf as he sketches swirling patterns, his lips quirked in concentration.
“Imagine this as a tattoo,” Sirius murmurs, tilting his head to inspect his work. The feathered tip of the quill brushes over your skin, leaving a faint tickle in its wake. “You’d look wicked with this.”
“You’ve got too much faith in my pain tolerance,” you cheek, laughing softly.
Remus sits nearby, half-engrossed in his book, though his eyes flick up occasionally. He notices the way Sirius’s hand lingers on your ankle, his thumb tracing absent circles. He doesn’t comment, but there’s a faint smile on his lips, a silent acknowledgment of Sirius’s antics.
Sirius’s movements slow. The intricate patterns fade into simple letters, and you glance down to see his name forming in bold strokes.
“Sirius,” you murmur, your voice dipping with amusement, though there’s a question in it too.
“What?” he replies, feigning innocence, though his smirk betrays him. The pad of his thumb brushes just above your knee, casual but deliberate. “It suits you, doesn’t it?”
Before you can respond, the quill dips again, and he writes Remus beneath his own name. His hand lingers longer this time, his thumb grazing upward, barely brushing the sensitive skin just below your knee.
Remus closes his book with a quiet snap. His gaze sharpens, his calm demeanor still intact but his attention fully on the two of you now. “What exactly are you doing, Pads?”
“Marking what’s ours,” Sirius says casually, though the husky undertone in his voice makes the words heavy. His gray eyes lock on yours, daring, searching, as his hand lingers on your leg, warm and steady.
Remus leans forward, resting his elbows on his knees. His voice is soft but laced with authority as he says, “You should’ve asked her first.”
Sirius chuckles, his fingers pressing just slightly harder as they trace an invisible line up your calf. “Would she have said no?” he asks, his voice low, almost a purr.
You swallow hard, the air between the three of you thick and charged. Remus reaches out, his fingertips brushing your wrist as his eyes meet yours, soft yet intense. “Well?” he murmurs, his voice quieter now, coaxing.
Your breath catches as Sirius’s hand shifts slightly, his thumb brushing the edge of your knee while his quill grazes the tender skin of your ankle. The intimacy is overwhelming, the unspoken promise between them simmering just below the surface.
The tension crackles, their shared gaze settling on you like a question neither wants to ask outright but both desperately need answered. Sirius’s smirk softens into something deeper, more vulnerable, as he tilts his head.
“You’d look good with us on you,” he murmurs, his voice barely above a whisper.

hi <3 this is super self-indulgent haha…but would you be willing to write a poly!wolfstar with a reader who still has their like raggedy lovey stuffed animal from when they were a baby that maybe they were hiding from the boys and how they react to finding out? xx
Hello hello~! This is absolutely adorable! I’m definitely guilty of holding onto childhood plushies too, so this is a bit self-indulgent for me as well. I really hope you enjoy!!!
Poly!Wolfstar x Fem!Reader WC: 1.1k
You flop down onto the fresh, unfamiliar bed, surrounded by boxes and bags, the remnants of your old flat strewn across the floor. Today was all about hauling practically everything from your last place into your boyfriend's house—your new home.
You’re grateful for this room of your own. It’s small, but that was your one non-negotiable condition. You love them both fiercely, but there’s something about having a sanctuary to retreat to, a space that’s just yours.
Their bed may be huge, but you know yourself: the thought of sharing it every night feels a bit too close for comfort, especially with everyone's mismatched schedules.
Plus, you’ve learned the hard way about Sirius’s habit of kicking in his sleep. He’d boot you clear off the bed at four in the morning if you gave him the chance. And Remus? He’s a snuggler—a heavy, unyielding snuggler. When he wraps an arm around you, it’s like being pinned by a warm, affectionate weight. Charming, absolutely, but not so convenient when you really have to pee in the morning.
So here you are, content but completely drained, with the three of you spending most of the day heaving boxes into the car and scrubbing down your old flat.
“Oh, it feels good to just lie down,” you groan, the ache of a long day catching up with you.
“I told you to wear comfortable shoes, dove,” Remus says softly, leaning against the doorframe and watching you with a fond smile.
You turn your head, flashing him a tired grin. “In my defense, I thought these were comfortable.”
“And is our princess now resting in her royal quarters?” Sirius quips, appearing just behind Remus, fresh from hauling a load of flattened boxes down to the bin.
“Absolutely,” you tease, shaking your head at his playful tone. “Thanks for helping me out. I’m sorry Marls had to back out last minute.” You sigh, thinking of how your best friend had called that morning with the news: her girlfriend had been in a minor accident at work and had to be rushed to the hospital. You could hardly blame her for canceling; if either of your boys were in the hospital, you’d drop everything to be there, too.
“Anytime, darling,” Sirius murmurs as he strolls into the room. With a dramatic flop, he lands on his back on the far side of the bed, letting out a soft “oof.” It’s an endearing sound that makes you laugh, even as you feel the day’s exhaustion settling in.
“Well?” You turn to Remus, a mischievous glint in your eye. “Planning to join us?” The question comes out with a flirtatious smile, hinting at just how much you’d love him to join you and Sirius.
Remus rolls his eyes, but there’s a softness there, too, as he lets out a gentle sigh. Shaking his head with a small, amused smile, he pads over to the foot of the bed and settles down, reaching for both of you. His hands find their way into your hair and Sirius’s, brushing through in a familiar, calming rhythm, almost like he’s petting two contented cats.
Sirius stretches his arms, accidentally knocking one of the many decorative pillows off the bed. With a groan, he slides down to his knees to retrieve it, grabbing the plush white pillow and tossing it haphazardly back onto the bed. But as he does, something else catches his eye—a faded mint-green fabric peeking out from an open duffel bag beside the bed.
“Siri?” Remus calls out, noticing that Sirius hasn’t returned to join them.
Curious, you sit up, wondering why he’s so distracted. Army-crawling to the edge of the bed, you spot his gaze fixed on the bag, and your heart skips a beat as you realize what he’s staring at.
Panicking, you scramble off the bed and slide down beside him, nearly losing your balance in the rush. Remuss concerned voice cuts in as he leans over, “Dove, you alright?” But you’re already reaching for the item that has Sirius’s full attention, fumbling slightly in an attempt to tuck it out of sight.
Sirius’s brows lift with curiosity. “What are you hiding?” he asks, a mischievous grin playing on his lips as he tries to gently wrestle the object from you.
“Nothing!” you whine, feeling the heat rise in your cheeks.
Remus raises an eyebrow, clearly amused. “That doesn’t look like ‘nothing,’” he says with a smirk. “Especially if you’re going to all this trouble to hide it.”
You squeal, feeling a mix of embarrassment and nervousness as you pull the plush tightly to your chest.
Sirius’s hands stop their playful struggle, but he keeps them on your back, rubbing soothing circles as he softens his tone. “Baby?”
You groan, sitting up and holding the well-loved, slightly worn mint-colored bunny in your arms. The little plush flops over as you look down at it, feeling a bit sheepish.
"My mom got her for me when I was a baby," you explain, your voice quiet but steady. "I know it's childish to still sleep with plushies at my age, but... she's just always been there for me. Through everything—moving around, tough nights, even all the times I was scared or stressed. It’s like… having a little piece of home with me."
Sirius's expression softens, a warm smile tugging at his lips. "That’s not childish at all, Love," he says, rubbing a gentle hand over your back. "Everyone needs something that makes them feel safe."
Remus nods in agreement, reaching out to touch the bunny's worn little ear. "And besides," he says with a grin, "if anyone gives you trouble about it, just remember who they’re talking to. You’ve got two knights here who’d defend a bunny’s honor, no questions asked."
You laugh, feeling a rush of relief. Hugging the bunny a bit tighter, you feel their arms wrap around you, holding you just as close.
"I love you both so much—" your voice comes out soft, but the warmth in it is unmistakable. You don’t even get a chance to finish before Sirius practically pulls you into his lap, wrapping his arms tighter around you with a grin that practically lights up the room.
"Good," he says, squeezing you reassuringly. "Because we're not going anywhere."
Remus leans in on your other side, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear with that gentle smile of his. "We love you too," he murmurs. "And that bunny? She’s part of the family now."
You can’t help but laugh, your heart feeling lighter than it has in ages as you sit there, held in the arms of the two people who mean everything to you, with your cherished bunny nestled close. In that moment, you know for certain that home isn’t just a place—it’s right here, with them.

It was so hot you felt the waves of rays from the sun on your skin like you were hovering your hand over a hot stove. Your skin dripped and your sunglasses were no longer enough to keep the glare away from your eyes. You stayed very still, listening, to the bugs in the bushes, the whisper of the breeze, James's laughter inside, and Remus talking more avidly than he usually did, you could hear Sirius burst into a roar of laughter. If you really focused, you could hear the vague hum of Fleamont's radio, the reports of a quidditch game buzzing through. You could hear the blades of grass shift and fold underneath the pink towel you had laid underneath your body when you breathed or moved. You could feel the beads of sweat start traveling down your body, but you didn't move. You didn't dare to, who were you to disturb such a moment? A moment of everything. When your boys laughed, and the cicadas buzzed and Mr Potter's team was winning.
"D'you fancy a bit of mango honey? Bought them at the muggle market yesterday, they said they were imported!" Mrs Potter, Euphemia, approached you, a small porcelain bowl in her hand, orange-yellow chunks sitting inside. They glistened under the sun, and you couldn't help but feel like the mango. Skin wet, juice dripping, the glare of the sun making both you and the mango sweat.
"I would love some, thank you, Mrs Potter," She smiled at you, and you sat up, carefully cupping the bowl with both hands.
"Anytime, be careful with the sun-" She winked as she trogged back inside. Euphemia Potter was the poster child for the perfect mother. She was warm and inviting, her laughter often bounced off the walls and the glint in her eyes told you that she was probably just as bad as James when she was young. She was still just as bad now. She was stern and rightfully so, as who could reel James and Sirius back in but Euphemia, barely a word from her lips, and the two boys would stand in front of her like soldiers. The boys loved her, and her warm nature made her easy to love and need. All of your friends ached to be in her presence. And you suspected she was the reason James was so magnetic as well.
"Whatcha doing out here all alone hm?" James's voice rang through the air, the hum of the cicadas falling secondary to his words. He crouched next to you, his fingers snatching a square of mango. He hummed in satisfaction as he savored the sweet, a drop of juice dripping from the fat of his lip. You wiped it wordlessly, the touch of his lips on your finger making your fingertips tingle. "We're going on a ride if you wanna come,"
"Where?"
"Just the muggle village close by, Sirius is fascinated by the car Remus got" You contemplated it as he grabbed another chunk, this time pressing it against your lips until you opened, welcoming in the cloying taste. You nodded shortly after, a small brilliant! spilling from his lips as he got up, and extended his hands out to hoist you up as well. You pulled your shorts back on, and James pouted at the disappearance of your bathing suit bottoms, but it quickly turned into a crooked smile as you pulled one of his old muggle band tees over your frame. It was old, the logo of The Kinks was soft and faded. If you ran the pads of your fingers over it, you could feel the cracks in the paint. The top of it had been stretched out and cut off impulsively, it exposed your shoulders just enough for James to press kisses onto the skin there in delight. It was smaller, that's why you had kept it, he didn't fit in it anymore much to his dismay. It was from a time when he wasn't toned by quidditch and hadn't stretched to 182 centimeters. It felt like years away, he intertwined his hands with yours as you slipped on your sandals and walked to the front of the house.
You realized it truly hadn't been that long ago.
The car Remus got was an old blue Volkswagen Beatle, one that barely fit his lanky figure, much less the other two tall idiots he was friends with. But you found a way to fit in regardless. He "bought" it from the old muggle couple that lived next to his childhood home, they wanted to give it to him for free, we've been close your whole life Remus, please take it as a present. He refused, ever the humble man, but they agreed on a nice dinner instead.
As repayment for the car, for his childhood, for their memories.
It felt bittersweet to stuff yourself in the back of the car with James. You wondered if the couple had ever done the same, stuff their closest friends onto the faded black seats, windows down to let the summer air roll in, drive with music blasting and barking fits of laughter. You wondered if they ever held hands as desperately as James clutched to yours, as longingly as you held his. The thought of you and James, all old and wrinkled but certainly not faded, flashed in your mind.
Did the old couple ever drive this far? Close to the coast and the ocean, enough to smell the salt of the sea, with sweat rolling down the skin, nevertheless a smile plastered on everyone's faces. You pondered on their life, of a couple you had met only once, in the fleeting exchange of Remus getting the car keys from them. You drove to the Potter's beach cottage with him that night, the better half of your group waiting for you there.
You and Remus exchanged knowing glances as the two pureblood boys stared in awe at everything, dragging you into a grocery store in front of where Remus parked the small blue car. The low fluorescent lights gave James’s skin a pale edge, the sunlight outside kept at bay by the door. His high cheekbones and strong nose had blue-tinged highlights. Especially as he dragged you to the back, venturing through the refrigerated section exclaiming at the variety of ice creams in pints and sticks.  He looked straight out of the muggle art films Lily was so fond of watching, you wondered how her vacation in Ireland was going.
“D’you want an ice lolly?” James held two in front of you, a bright red one and a blue one. He hummed in agreement as you grabbed the red one and he smiled at his blue one happily. he didn’t hesitate in opening it, licking it like a child as he continued to drag you around eventually falling into step with Sirius who had been passionately explaining to Remus how he just had to find the muggle strawberry marmalade cookies Evans’ parents gave us when we visited. Remus helped him scan the shelves.
You observed them. The way James approached and offered Remus and Sirius a taste of his blue ice cream the latter trying it curiously. Sirius’s face soured at the blue raspberry taste exclaiming how it tasted like the inside of a cauldron. There were no boundaries or lines to be crossed, for them, everything was shared and treasured. There were no secrets amongst brothers, no borders nor humiliations.
“Oh so that’s what it is-“ James looked at it curiously, evidently having felt the same. He continued to lick it regardless and Sirius let out a ‘fuck yea’ as Remus handed him the pack of marmalade cookies he’d been hunting for. The marauders were endlessly entertaining to observe. You reckon you had never seen love and friendship in its purest form until you met them.
James, ever the caring one, fussed and worried over his friends in a way you’ve never seen any boy— or anyone for that matter— do, it reminded you of his mother. The fussing and the insistent questions of Did you eat? did you sleep well? Are you feeling poorly? at any turn of mood was like hearing Euphemia herself. Not that you’d ever tell him how alike he was to his mother.
You loved watching the boys, the way James threw his arms over both of them, even crooked from Remus's stature. Under muscle and hard bone, your soft heart squeezed in something akin to nostalgia. It made you ache and yearn. You thought you could listen to the laughs that bounced from them, in between them, forever. You laughed as Remus scrunched his nose at James's ice cream as the lot of you paid, the cashier looked around your age, bored out of her mind with her summer job.
"Come ooon Moony just try it-"
"Prongs I hate blue raspberry please-" James pouted, and Remus rolled his eyes, taking a small tentative nibble of the ice. He scrunched up his face again and shook his head. "Yup still tastes like chemicals, don't know why you like it- yer a freak"
James resorted to bickering about it, trying to get Sirius to rally behind him. The long-haired boy paid him no mind as he tried opening the red plastic cylinder of cookies. Remus fell into the bickering with James, both with a smirk pulling at the corners of their lips.
They were just boys after all.
"D'you want one?" Sirius turned the package towards you, eyeing your red ice treat in return. You nodded, offering your ice cream to him as you wiggled a marmalade cookie from out of the package. He hummed in satisfaction at the sweeter tone of your ice lolly,
"I reckon your girlfriend's got you beat Prongs, hers is better-"
"Nuh-uh!" He reached over and grabbed yours, pressing it against his lips as he nibbled a bit of it. "Oh-"
The three boys exploded in bickering, your ice dessert eventually falling back into your hands. You never minded, the fact that in the closeness to them, your limits were also blurred. It was comforting and intimate and familiar in ways you had never suspected. You had never had friendships like this, not ones that ended well anyway. They seemed to handle it well, the intimacy between them. The long limbs scrambled together, the way you knew that they secretly held hands sometimes, in reassurance, in strength. Even if for the other two, there were sparks of something more, they never failed to be the same with James. You had been in James' arms more than once, at a party, on the couch, in his dorm, with either Sirius or Remus pressed against the other side. Sometimes the both of them. Sometimes their hands connected, sometimes just the touch of their backs against each other, of knees touching, was enough.
The first time truly witnessing their closeness it was confusing. Their tendency to sleep on the same bed, still in uniform, and a mess of sheets and half of their bodies peeking and pouring out from the bed, made sure that the surprise and confusion eventually fell away. Who could judge when they have never looked so peaceful? Innocent even— Smirks of mischief gone, walls of strength and laughter down.
They really were just boys.
You continued exploring the muggle town, walking around aimlessly as James held your hand. His hands were soft, despite the quidditch-made ridge of callouses on the edge of his hands where his fingers met the palm. They felt awfully warm, but James tended to run on the hotter side. Both he and Sirius did, Remus and you were the cold-skinned ones. James often cupped your hands into his and blew hot air into them. There was no need for such things now, the sun blared down on the four of you mercilessly yet- more forgiving than earlier. As it began to sink in the sky, James's brown skin took on golden tones. He always did look good sunbathed. After watching him many times, you were convinced the sun was made to make James glow, his skin absorbing the radiance with ease.
"Did you hear me?" James's lips repressed a smile, having caught you daydreaming, you shook your head in honesty "I asked if you wanted to take a stroll around the beach," you saw now, the entrance of the beach no less than three meters in front of you. You nodded wordlessly, being pulled by his hand into a sprint. His already unruly hair was even more windswept, a mess of curls and breeze. Sirius ran not far in front of you and James, his long black hair equally as wild, laughter pouring from deep within him, from his lungs, as he pulled at James's other hand. Remus did a light jog behind you, to pretend he was 'catching up'. He'd eventually get there, his laughter also reaching your ears. You couldn't help it, you really could not. Your lips seemed to have a mind of their own as they broke into a smile, laughter soon dribbling out as well. It was compulsive truly, completely out of your hands, they all had something magnetic that twisted your tummy into laughter, pure joy, and release pouring from your soul. You thought this was why they had become so popular, they were so inviting. The boys, all three of them, acted like youth had been created just for them— like they could eat the world raw.
It was hard not to get caught up in it. They were exhilarating and adrenaline-inducing. You settled on the fact that being with them— with James— felt like fireworks were exploding right next to you, booming and echoing in your chest, lighting up your eyes.
Sirius and James ended up wrestling in the sand, and you let go of James's hand to avoid falling, content with watching them. The sand wasn't wet but it was starting to get cold and you could hear Remus burst into laughter as he jogged towards you, his cheeky, you realized, chuckles reverberating as he knocked the two of you down next to the two undisciplined boys. James screeched in laughter, as he crawled towards you, dropping his head on your tummy seemingly exhausted.
"I reckon I've won" Sirius sauntered over, tripping over his feet and letting himself fall on top of Remus, one of his legs thrown over you somehow.
"Nuh uh-"
"You ran away first Prongs-" They squabbled about it like they were five, brotherly bites at each other. Remus let out a breathy laugh whispering to you;
"I think you guys might have to drag me back to the car-" you knew he meant it, not being able to imagine the sort of aches and joint pain he was feeling from the light jog alone, much less throwing the both of you down to the sand, but nevertheless you both exploded into a fit of giggles, the thought of carrying his lanky figure across town prompting your laugh.
"Oi whats so funny there?" Sirius pressed a finger against your side eliciting more giggles from you as you squirmed away trying to push James off as he also started digging his fingers on your sides.
”Please stop oh my god- please please-“ your giggles left you gasping for air and you felt some relief as Remus pushed Sirius off. The dark-haired boy kneeled next to Remus, trying to catch his breath.
”You’re so paying for that Moony-“ he threw himself on top of the sandy-haired boy and they began to roll around in the sand, wrestling with bubbling fits of laughter as both tried to overpower the other.
”We should get going— mum's gonna have my head” you hummed in agreement, noting how dark it’s gotten. You didn't think of the sand in your hair or the grains that stuck to your skin, the one you'd inevitably be shaking out of everything you owned for the next three weeks. You couldn't think of it when James was now face to face with you. You couldn't help but press a kiss to his cheek, and then his lips, and then the other cheek.
"This wasn't much of a stroll-" your words were soft and slightly teasing, a small pull at the corner of your lip making his smirk grow. He pressed a kiss to your cheek, soft and damp in the way he knew made you laugh and wipe your cheek. You didn't this time, he did it again for good measure.
”I promise I’ll take you on a disgustingly romantic stroll tomorrow yeah?” you hummed in agreement again, and he shot you a dimpled smile. “Oi idiots! let’s go,”
Sirius groaned in disagreement, trying to contain his laugh as Remus pinched his side and threw him off. They both got up, shaky and still laughing at each other. Remus clutched at Sirius’s shoulder for support.
”Moony I hate to say it but maybe you ought to get some sort of… cane” James hurried to throw Remus’s arm over his shoulders and the taller boy scowled, like a kid who was getting scolded by his mother. They vaguely tried to dust themselves off.
”Prongs I do not need a cane, I’m not 80-“
“Might be good for you Moons,” Sirius chewed at the last remaining cookie, the package having been shoved in the inside of his jacket. There was a surprising lack of sand but it was crushed, nevertheless, he picked up the pieces gingerly. "Just think on it yeah?" He said it casually like Remus had to pick between ice cream flavors, and you could see the sting in Remus's eyes. You knew Sirius did not say it in an uncaring way, quite the opposite. Madame Pompfrey had said it more than once, and every time Remus shook his head and walked through the pain.
The four of you made your way back in silence, Remus eventually disentangling himself from James and walking unsteadily to the car.
"D'you want me to drive Rem?" Your words were low and close to him so the other two wouldn't hear. He shook his head, shooting you a small smile.
"Come on Moony, let’s ride" Remus couldn’t help but smile as Sirius opened the driver's door with a bow, a goofy smile also playing on his lips. The tension dissipated quickly, it left as quickly as it came, Remus got in the car and James opened the door for you as well.
You started cruising again, down the road, this time the lowered windows let in the cool night air and Sirius stuck his torso out, eventually deciding on sitting on the window, the only thing keeping him tethered to the car being his legs inside and the hand on the roof that helped balance him. James followed soon after, his foot tapping your thigh as he laughed with Sirius. Their screams made you and Remus laugh too,
”What are you waiting for?”
Remus’s deep brown eyes looked at yours through the review mirror and you felt your breath caught in your throat. You felt your fingers shake as you nodded and maneuvered your way out the window, the speed working against you. Sirius cheered as you sat on the edge of the window, a nervous laughter bubbling out of you, the wind sweeping past your face making the tip of your nose and the apples of your cheeks feel chilly. Sirius’s hair flew wildly as he played fast and loose when he let go of the car shooting his arms up, but he didn’t fall, his chest echoed with laughter.
James extended his hand, still sticking on the roof, towards yours, and bravely so did you. His fingers came to a stop right above your knuckles, Remus pushed the car to its limit. The air was more than just cold now, it bit at your cheeks and made your eyes water— but you couldn’t find it within yourself to even mind. It was exhilarating and blood pumping, your heart was about ready to leap out of your chest as the boys let out roars of laughter.
Soon enough you’d turn into the street where the Potter’s cottage resided in. The small, hidden stretch of street for the magical folks. Remus slowed to a stop expertly, and the grip of James and your other hand gripping the inside of the car helped you avoid the recoil of the stop. Sirius wasn’t so lucky, as he laid his whole upper body— or as much of it as he could— against the car. A terrified grin on his face. At least he didn't fall out.
You all climbed out, mindless chatter between them about what to eat or what to do. But as your heart began to slow down again, and the excitement seeped out of your body, you were left alone with your feelings once again. The moment passed and left you empty like your chest cavity had been hollowed out, scooped out by sentimentality. It made you angry, the way that your eyes felt hot with tears They had no use, truly they did not, they were tears spilled in vain. Nothing was wrong, your boyfriend loved you, you had amazing friends, and you had an amazing day, a thrilling ride home. What could possibly be nagging at your heart?
"Are you going to finally tell me what's been up with you today?" James whispered into your ear, from behind you. You had stayed by the door, shooing them in so they wouldn't notice. But James knew. He always knows. He rested his head on your shoulder, looking at the grassy fields in front of you. "Don't you dare say nothing because I know that look on your face love, besides you've been uncharacteristically quiet this fine evening" There was still a tinge of joke in his tone, an edge that he never really seemed to shake off even when he meant to be serious.
"It's stupid James, I'm okay I promise" You pressed a small kiss against his temple and went around him to go inside, making a beeline for the kitchen. You hoped it'd be empty, so you could sit and marinate in your thoughts for longer. You could hear James's parents chatting upstairs, their voices traveling through the wooden floors, you could feel the breeze coming in through the patio doors and the boys' echoing laughter, bickering, and the avid conversation that was so characteristically them.
"I hope you didn't believe I'd let you get away with that-" he tsked "shoddy performance love-" James pressed a kiss against your cheek as he came close to you again. You hoped you'd push him off until later, but alas James was a pressing man.
"Really? I've been told I'm quite an actress-" you tried joking, but the smirk on your lips didn't reach your eyes, and James knew— only from the absence of the singular dimple on the side of your face— that it was false. He took your hand in his, his expression turning somber,
"I need you to tell me, you've been in the clouds all day-" you sighed as he played with your fingers, his lips pressing a kiss to the tips. You gave in, but for James you always did. You could never tell him no. "I promise I won't tease"
"Do you ever have like, flashes of memories and glimpses in your mind of all these beautiful things? like a montage kind of, just of…you know, beauty that- moves you and love that’s shared"
"A montage?" James' lips curled into a smile, "like a vision? of something you've lived before?"
"No… well ye- no- just everything, even of the moment you’re in... like it'll slip from your fingers and you're missing and aching for it before it's even over" You tried to articulate the feeling, the one that had been slowly eating at your heart. The feeling that makes you cry senselessly and haunts your dreams.
James seemed to think about it, regardless of how frustrated you felt with your own words, he seemed to understand. He mouled it over, and you could almost see the gears turn behind his eyes. For a second you thought you caught a glance of something, something sad and blue and tender—
"Yeah, I know," he bit his lip briefly, from the inside, a nervous habit he had picked up. "it's like you're nostalgic before it's even..."
"over" "over"
You played with his fingers now, pulling and massaging each one. He let you without refute as he went quiet again, deep in thought.
"I feel it when I look at my friends, at you, I think about if it'll last forever—" He looked straight out the window, into the pitch-dark sky, a sad tightening around his mouth "I reckon it is a matter of knowing, of treasuring it, the moment, or whatever 'it' is for you, and tucking it neatly inside your heart... I reckon the only way to deal with it is to force yourself to enjoy the moment"
He looked at you now, his brown eyes stared deep into your own, unwavering. James the ever-cocky one, always brave and always caring, so loud and rambunctious you'd think fireworks exploded in his veins, suddenly seemed so small, and raw. You didn't think he had such feelings, of course, he got down sometimes, but this? This existential mess that rotted and churched inside your heart until you were quiet and blue? No, James Potter could not possibly possess such feelings. He looked at you with tenderness, but the longing that lay under it shoved neatly and discretely in some dark corner of his soul, was new. And something you never expected him to feel.
"There's no need for nostalgia love," he grabbed your hands tightly in his "The time is now.” He said it with determination like it had been something he had arrived at. A conclusion to calm the ache in his chest and reassure himself that there was no need to live in the past, nor sad about something that had not yet passed.
He pressed a quick peck to your lips. But you pulled him closer, soft and yearning. It was delicate yet filled to the brim with love and you hoped he couldn't feel the tears that stained your cheeks, but you knew he did. James Potter knew everything.
“don't cry lovely” He pressed another kiss to your lips and tucked you into his arms for a hug.
You shook yourself off soon after, moving away from the kitchen counters. You took his hand now, along with a quick kiss to his lips, and for the first time today, you took the lead. You dragged him outside with his friends. The fire crackled and burned and the boys sat on Euphemia's wicker garden chairs, the cushions that usually decorated the space thrown about, Remus hoarding about four in his chair no doubt trying to calm the ache in his bones. Sirius was halfway through convincing Remus to try the strange cider concoction he had made the previous day, no doubt an alcoholic bomb. They both laughed as Remus continued to refuse the glass Sirius kept pushing in his hands.
"I'll try it Pads-" You extended your hand and Sirius smiled wolfishly, at the nickname, and your initiative. He handed you the overfilled glass, the drops of the cold liquid spilling over your hand as you rushed to grab it and take a swing. The bitter taste hit your throat harshly the tangy-sweet flavor of the actual cider washing over your tongue as the gulp of liquid made its way down. It was like a punch to the face, but you couldn't help the shrieks of laughter that poured from you.
"Godric's balls-" Sirius let out a roar of laughter, taking the glass back from your trembling hands as you coughed. "Sirius Black you're a sick man- who would drink that" he took a shameless sip.
"That's the most you've spoken today doll I reckon it did its job-" he winked as your face turned hot, and laughter started to spill from both your lips as James grabbed the cup.
"It can't be that bad-" he took a reckless swing, not expecting much- before spitting it out on the grass with a yelp, "Padfoot you're going to hell for that atrocity" he gasped out as he handed Remus the cup. The sandy-haired boy glared at James mercilessly but accepted it, because if you can't beat them join them right?
Remus managed to gulp down more than James had even attempted, "Christ padfoot, seriously this is sick" and was next to succumb to the stomach-aching laughter, clutching his stomach as his features grew red with laughter. He put the glass down in the middle as the four of you continued to laugh. You teased James for spitting it out and Sirius for making it in the first place, James's arm around your shoulders, both of you shaking and clutching to each other trying to breathe from the laughter that impeded it. Remus slapped Sirius upside the head, but the dark-haired boy couldn't manage to retaliate, wiping tears from his eyes, his lungs wheezing.
You hoped it would always be this way, watching the three of them clutch at each other as they laughed, like brothers, like more than that. you dreamt of being in your forties still laughing this way, with nothing but joy in your cheeks and fireworks in your chest. still in the same beach house for the holiday, maybe married, maybe with children with their reckless but faithful friends of their own.
Maybe it would always be this way.
You decided you’d focus on being 20, as you blinked joyful tears back. You’d focus on their thunderous laughs and their wicked winks. The triplet smirks and the way James pressed you close to your chest as you all laughed until your tummies hurt. You decided you were content now, at twenty. Yes, you were happy.
There was no need for nostalgia, the time is now.

summary - soft morning moments with your two favourite people [ poly!wolfstar x reader ]
word count - >1k
tw - heavy kissing | mentions of morning hard-ons but no actual smut | lots of fluff mainly
🌟🍯✨🌜🌟🍯✨🌜🌟🍯✨🌜🌟🍯✨🌜🌟
Someone had forgotten to turn the lights off last night. Or had it been this morning?
Considering you were squeezed between your boyfriends in their bed, it shouldn’t have been your responsibility to turn them off. You couldn’t be too annoyed at Remus or Sirius though when the warm, starry-shaped, lights casted a golden glow over them as they slept.
You propped yourself up as you peered over Sirius’ shoulder to note the time.
8:18 am.
Remus must have felt like you were moving to make an escape from bed because you felt his arm snake around your middle.
His hand stopped between your stomach and ribs, pulling you softly back down to lay on the bed.
“You can’t leave yet.” He grumbled as he pulled you back against his chest.
You twisted your head at an awkward angle to try get a peep of your sleepy boyfriend, but you couldn’t see much and his eyes were closed.
Giving up any chance of an early-morning escape, you nestled your head back down on the pillow and wriggled until you found a position that was comfortable for you. That position just so happened to involve pressing yourself back into Remus, where his morning hard-on pressed proudly into the back of you.
You suppressed a smirk as you thought of all the ways you could tease him.
“What’s got you smiling like a fool?” Sirius was looking at you, laying on his side facing you.
“Remus is hard.” You giggled like the immature character you are.
“Difficult not to be around you.” Sirius raised an eyebrow, impressed by himself for being so quick after just waking up - he literally still had sleep in the corner of his eyes and his hair was so untamed.
You tried to scooch closer to Sirius but Remus held on tight - which some people might believe he was pretending to be asleep, but you and Sirius knew he was just as protective in his sleep as when he’s awake.
Sirius snorted when he realised Remus had claimed you.
You stared at him unamused. “Help me.”
“You don’t really look like you’re in a position where you need rescuing, sunshine. You’re sandwiched between the two sexiest wizards known to the universe—”
“I don’t know about—” You tried to cut Sirius off.
“Ssh let him finish.” Remus spoke softly from behind her, igniting goosebumps over her skin from how close he was.
You groaned, “You two are insufferable in a morning.”
“You’re actually the one causing Remus to suffer by pressing against him like and then also me by default.” Sirius moved the inch of space closer to you, pressing his nose against yours.
“Not on purpose.” You whispered, carefully watching Sirius for his movements and feeling Remus for his.
“We don’t mind, lovie.” Remus mumbled against your neck, causing your head to tilt back to follow the sensation.
Sirius then took the open opportunity to kiss your exposed neck, just underneath your jaw the way you like it.
Your eyes rolled back with a smile as your boyfriends started kissing their way around your neck together. It might only be there lips against your skin, but it was already turning you into liquid against them.
They so deeply affected you.
They knew it too.
“We don’t mind at all.” Sirius emphasised.
Sirius then cupped your jaw softly, bringing your gaze away from the starry lights and back to him. He had a soft hunger in his eyes, eyes flitting between the admiration of his kisses and the temptation of kissing something better - your lips.
“Do you?” Sirius asked.
Remus kissed over a pressure point on your neck and it made your legs move in strain because it felt so good.
“Do I what?” You asked, confused at what the question was or what the conversation had ever been.
“You’ve kissed her silly, Moons. She’s forgotten everything.”
“Think we’ve kissed her enough to make her want to stay in bed with us all morning?”
You can’t believe you were ever contemplating leaving the bed without them this morning. That you’d been thinking about how forgot to turn the chuffing lights off, instead of making out with your boyfriends.
You momentarily printed this scene into your mind, to remind you for future mornings that you really didn’t want to leave the bed without morning kisses first.
Your boys knew how to treat you well.
“Don’t care what you do, I’m never leaving.”

Thawing Out
summary: You and Sirius are in dire need of a new coach just weeks before the Olympics. Remus is a former figure skating prodigy forced to retire after a career-ending injury. Though it's not smooth skating right away, those stiff Olympic village beds are dying to be broken in.

cw: modern au, chronic pain
poly!wolfstar x fem!reader ♡ 1.3k words
Remus still wakes before dark every morning. It’s automatic, an urgency and excitement that thrums through him like an old instinct, born from years of his alarm clock rousing him at this time. The rink is always at its best right now, when they’ve just finished resurfacing the ice and no one else is around. It was Remus’ favorite time to practice.
Now, he has a new reason to get up. His hip clicks as he does it, so he starts his day with a couple of proactive painkillers. If he really wanted to be proactive he would stretch like he’s supposed to, but there’s no time and Remus doesn’t feel like it. He’ll pay his toll for the negligence later.
The webpage of his Airbnb boasted a five-minute walk to the rink, but with his hip it takes Remus seven. It’s like an odd sort of muscle memory, an old routine from another life that feels as bitter as it does comfortable. He heads out early to give himself some cushion. The streets are empty but for bakers and baristas, the first hints of dawn tinging the sky a deep blue. When he turns a corner and the rink comes into view, the absence of his bag hanging from his shoulder is a phantom ache.
The front doors are locked but the side one staff uses isn’t, the Zamboni driver already inside. Remus lets himself in, makes a cup of tea from the hot water dispenser they leave out when concessions are closed, plants himself on a bench, and waits.
And waits.
And waits.
Remus has nearly nodded off when two pairs of shoes come bounding up to him. Well, one pair bounds. The other drags.
“Hi, sorry we’re late.” You’re breathless and hauling a sullen-looking boy along behind you by the hand, but you manage a smile when Remus looks up at you. “I had to run over and get him out of bed. It’s good to meet you!”
You hold out your untethered hand. Remus might normally stand to take it, but he no longer feels like doing you the courtesy. Your grip is firm and warm.
“You were supposed to be here at six,” he says.
You wince. “I know. Sorry, Sirius is really not a morning person.”
Remus thinks that he might put more stock into your apologies if you looked a tad more contrite. As it is, your countenance is almost cheery, a fizzy eagerness about you as you look between him and the ice like you can’t wait to get out on it.
In stark contrast, the ill-tempered boy behind you seems not to have a clue where he is. He looks rumpled and disoriented, squinting in the rink’s fluorescent light.
“Then why didn’t you pick another time?” Remus asks.
He hadn’t realized he was still looking at Sirius, or that the other boy could talk, so it’s a surprise when he answers. “Wasn’t my bloody idea.”
By the way you grin, Remus wonders if you’ve even heard the obvious bitterness in your partner’s tone, or whether it’s gone straight over your head.
“I like the rink better early,” you explain. “No one else ever comes before the hockey practice starts at nine, and they’ll have just finished resurfacing the ice.”
Begrudgingly, Remus nods. “I always preferred it about now, too.”
He realizes immediately that his agreement was a mistake, because your smile grows into something far too brilliant for the early hour. Christ, what has he gotten himself into? There’s you, starry-eyed and effervescing all over the place, and your partner, who looks more inclined to fall asleep on your shoulder than put on his skates.
And this is the pair skating duo Remus is supposed to take to the Olympics.
─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ───
“Watch that back foot!” Remus shouts across the ice.
Sirius doesn’t look happy about it, but he corrects the placement of his skate, transitioning smoothly into the next synced turn.
“Good,” Remus murmurs to himself.
Once Sirius got out on the ice and woke up a bit, he was good. He skates with the technical proficiency of someone who’s been in the sport since before they started primary school, and the intuitive artistry of someone who loves it. You’re much the same, though your virtuosity and obvious competence are consistently undercut by hesitation, the grace of your movements interrupted when you second-guess yourself. But these—technical prowess paired with devotion—are the basics of what makes a good figure skater. You’ll have to be flawless if you want to do well at the Olympics.
And Remus has found many flaws.
“No, no—shit!” Remus stands as you fall out of your jump again, catching yourself on your forearms. “You’re still under-rotating! Come on!”
Sirius snarls a quick “Hey!” over his shoulder before turning his back on Remus, going to help you up. He speaks to you quietly, checking you over as you stand. Remus seethes.
He has no clue why he’s been called out here to coach a pair. Remus doesn’t know pairs, has never been a part of one. He was a solo skater. And frankly, it makes him wary that what’s supposed to be the best skating pair in Britain has asked him, a former solo skater who’s been isolated from the figure skating community in general for the past two years, to coach them. But Remus does know figure skating. And he knows when skaters are making stupid mistakes behind their skill level.
“What aren’t you understanding?” asks Remus as you skate back to the edge of the rink. He really wants to know. “It’s simple. You can do this.” He knows he could have. As easy as breathing, and he would kill to have the chance again.
“What the fuck is your problem?”
Sirius’ glare is sharp as knives. He steps off the ice before you can, positioning himself between you and Remus. Your lips purse with a knowing sort of apprehension.
“Sirius…”
“No, you don’t talk to her like that,” Sirius spits. “It was a tiny mistake.”
Remus raises his eyebrows, incredulous. “I’m trying to help her! It was a giant mistake, with a simple fix. You ought to be telling her the same, unless you’re okay with your partner snapping her ankle weeks out from competition.”
“None of that means you get to fucking yell at her! Who do you think you are?”
“Okay—”
“I’m her coach,” says Remus, voice rising, “and—”
“Then coach her! Maybe if you’d give some actual fucking feedback instead of just nitpicking—”
“Okay!” Your shout cuts through the space, echoing in the empty rink and silencing the other two. “That’s enough.”
You haul Sirius back by his shoulder. Your grip doesn’t look severe enough to move him, but he goes, stepping back to your side. His eyes never leave Remus’.
Your own gaze jumps between both boys, that same spark he’d seen in you earlier burning with a different light.
“Let’s call it for today,” you say firmly. “Okay? We’ll try again tomorrow.”
Neither boy speaks, though Remus nods. It seems to be taking all of Sirius’ willpower to bite his tongue. He gets the impression it isn’t something he succeeds at often, so Remus isn’t ashamed to say that it brings him a perverse sort of joy to see it now. His tiny bit of smugness fizzles out, though, when your eyes land on him. There’s something desolate in your expression that’s a salient deviation from how you’d looked at him before. Remus has the sinking feeling that he’s disappointed you. It’s more distressing than he can account for.
“We’ll be here on time tomorrow,” you say in that same steady tone. “And my jump, I’ll work on it.”
Remus nods again. You return it, and when you turn to leave, you drag Sirius after you by his shirtsleeve, picking up your bags along your way. Remus’ mouth feels dry. His lips are chapped, his fingertips hurt from the cold, and the sight of your skates sinking into the rubbery floor makes his hip ache terribly.
It’s only once you’re nearly out of earshot that he manages to mumble, “Thank you.”

no thoughts just mean!bf remus mocking your cries n whimpers as he fucks into you n tells you how desperate you are for him
i genuinely needed to sit down and stare at my phone for a good two minutes to process this i am going crazy.
he would be so, so, so mean. the gag is that he’s the one who initiates everything and is, in fact, equally if not more desperate. but, mean ! remus loves ignoring this and instead, mocks you for your every cry and whine.
remus’ cock is so big, both in length and width. every time he’s inside you, it feels like the first time all over again because his size is just so overwhelming. remus sometimes feels bad for doing this, but his cock throbs at the sight of you struggling to take him and he often loses self-control and meanly laughs in your face when you cry out at the feeling of him suddenly pushing into you. every time you would tell him to slow down, he’d only go faster, laughing breathlessly at your whines and the tears on your cheeks.
‘telling me to stop but i’m sure you like this, don’t you, baby? cunt’s so fuckin’ wet.’
‘does it hurt, dove? thought you said you could take me?’
just imagine remus calling you his fussy little baby; every time you paw at his thighs, attempting to tell him that you need him while he’s studying, he’d just sigh in annoyance and bend you over his desk to fuck you stupid :( i don’t know if remus would slap you or not, but he would definitely tug your hair to force you to look up at him every time he takes you from behind !
‘is that what you needed, hm? all you fuckin’ think about is getting filled up—is this what my baby needed? such a fuckin’ brat, no patience at all.’
he genuinely has to control himself from busting inside you at the sight of your wobbly lips and furrowed eyebrows, paired with your teary eyes and the quiet mewls coming out from your mouth. you just look so fucked out and cute, he has to resist leaning down and peppering kisses all over your face.
i know this is a little unhinged but all i’ve been thinking about is remus fucking you in your childhood bedroom and calling you gross and disgusting for enjoying it when he ruins you as your parents are downstairs.
‘fuck—imagine what they’d say when they see their little girl slutting herself out like this. i’ve completely ruined you, haven’t i? no longer their innocent baby, are you, honey?’ BRRRRR i need psychiatric help.

I have thoughts!! Maybe reader who’s hyper independent. Like, will go run errands, or to the movies, or go out to eat by herself, etc bc that’s how it’s always been. And she forgets that she can let other people in on her plans too and when they mention it it’s just like an “..oh yeah duh” moment. It can literally be with any of the marauders idc
I made it poly!wolfstar on accident🤭🤭
“I have to pop into the shops to restock your orange juice and Rem’s chocolates, do you need anything else, poppet?”
You sit up from where you’ve got your laptop on your knees and set it down, ready to stand up and take the list from Sirius.
“I can do it Siri,” your hand stretches but Sirius is faster than you are and tucks the paper in his back pocket.
“So can I, doll. You’re working and I’m just sitting around here so I figure I can do it for you.”
You frown, crossing your arms over your chest. Your stance has Remus lifting his head from his book.
“What’s wrong?” He asks, slotting a receipt between the pages to keep his place.
“Someone doesn’t think I can go to the shops alone, it seems.” You know what Sirius is doing and your stance softens a little bit.
“That’s not it, I can just do it myself. I don’t want to bother either of you.”
“A bother, how mad.” When Sirius says the word it sound silly, but that’s how you feel.
Sirius tuts at your frown and Remus reaches for your wrist. “We can help you out every now and again, dove. It doesn’t have to be all on one of us, yeah?”
Remus strokes the inside of your wrist tenderly as he watches you from under his lashes. As coy and innocent as he plays himself, he can coax you and Sirius to anything.
“I know you like your independence and I’m not trying to take that away. Just want you to need me for something other than my good looks.” Sirius teases when you don’t say anything for a few minutes.
It earns him an eye roll and a smile from you and a pinch to his side from Remus.
“But can I go with you, Siri?”
Sirius smiles, “To supervise or to spend time with me?”
You shrug, “Can we take the ‘needing other people’ in steps?”
Sirius’ smile spreads wider; “Sure can, doll face. Shall we stop at the bakery and bring back some goods for our Rem?”
Remus stands as you two make to walk out, “Wait I’ll come too, I don’t want a cold croissant like last time.”
Sirius flushes while you laugh. “You get sidetracked one time from grocery shopping and you never live it down, so you?” His grumbles earn his a kiss smacked to his cheek from you.
Remus presses a consolatory kiss to Sirius’ lips, and the grocery trip is postponed till a little later.

part two
_
Sirius doesn’t remember falling asleep with the quilt he so lovingly gifted you two Christmases ago, evidently, he also doesn’t remember him even getting into your apartment after too many rounds of firewhiskey shots.
Your apartment is a quaint little unit you, Mary, Marlene and Dorcas found after graduating Hogwarts. It sits in a hidden corner of Diagon Alley that none of you nor your friends thought of considering had it not been for Mrs. Potter being the one that recommended it. Despite its old exterior, you and the girls made the apartment a cozy home full of laughter and more importantly, love for one another. Sirius has forgotten the amount of times he has knocked on the door in hopes of a shoulder to lean on or even just for the sake of company. Clearly, he isn’t shy to consider your apartment a crash stop when he’s not sure he can manage the walk home to his own apartment with his friends.
It’s quiet, and he wonders if the lot of you have already started on your day and left him to sleep in. He desperately hopes there’s still some coffee left on the machine. From what he heard the night before, Marlene and Dorcas planned on going on a morning hike, he distinctly remembers snorting at the idea of Marlene McKinnon waking up at the crack of dawn just because her lovely girlfriend wants to see the sunrise.
A deep ache settles in his chest. Oh, how he wishes to have someone he loves so devotedly to wake up to see the sunrise. He supposes he does, though the objects of his silent affections go completely unnoticed to his advances (if he dares to even call them advances). Sirius sighs and bitterly decides to stay a little longer. He’s sure he won’t be able to handle Remus’ disheveled morning hair and the lazy smiles they share while listening to James and Lily go on about the plans for their day. Not sure if he’s willing to put himself through your adorable morning hair and even more adorable frown, either.
A door opens somewhere deep in the apartment, and the cadence of your silent giggles follows. You hush and giggle as you walk to the kitchen, and Sirius’ heart picks up a little. You’re with someone, you brought someone home.
There have been whispers here and there among your group of friends. A passing comment from Lily one morning.
“What are your plans for the day, Pads?” Asked James, and Sirius brought his hand to his jaw, scratching the upcoming stubble with distraction. “Pester the girls again, maybe?”
“Remember to knock first though, I don’t think I can handle another of your detailed stories about Marls’ birthmark.” Remus pointed, folding his copy of the Daily Prophet under his arm.
“That was one time!” He yelled at Remus, who walked out of the kitchen in a fit of boyish giggles, ready to start his day. Sirius desperately hoped to get drunk on that sound. “You know, my lovely (Y/N) doesn’t mind my pestering, thank you very much, Prongs. I know she’s already waiting for me.”
Lily laughed. “Fat chance, Sirius. She said she’ll be out most of the day.”
“What?”
“What does she even have to do?” James asked, turning to Sirius for confirmation, confusion evident in both their faces. “It’s her free day, isn’t it? Can’t she take a break or something?”
“Why are you looking at me? It’s not like I control her life outside the shop!” Sirius argued, holding his arms out, and James shook his head disapprovingly.
“Can’t stay still, that one. Always running around.”
“Well…” A mischievous glint took over Lily’s eyes. She leaned in and both boys had no choice but to interrupt their discussion in order to listen to her. “Mary and I think she's seeing someone.”
And Sirius can’t be held responsible for the physical pang he felt inside his ribcage, suspiciously close to his heart. He hasn’t given it much thought since then, or tried to, knowing he would spiral into a whole panicked breakdown. But he couldn’t ignore the signs. The way you started to style your hair differently, the radiant glow in your appearance every time you walked into the shop from work, later than usual. The one time he saw you in Diagon Alley on your free day, carrying two plastic cups and a bag of pastries sticking out from your bag.
He can’t even deign to feel betrayed by your secret, being witness of your trials and tribulations throughout Hogwarts. Your love life has always been a subject of anger among him and your friends. Boys with too much confidence and little empathy who would get their filthy hands on you and do with your heart what they wanted, even if you ended up incredibly heartbroken in the end, it was always for their entertainment only. And the pattern would repeat countless times even in your time after school. Sirius would always be vocal about the unjust treatment from your partners, Remus a close second though much gentler, but you seemed set in finding true love no matter what your friends thought.
Fabian Prewett was the first one to break your heart, promising you the moon and the stars in private but acting as though you were a part of his imagination in public. The fallout was inevitable but the pain it caused left a scar that he suspects you still regret to this day. McLaggen didn’t even bother to properly know you before deciding you weren’t worth the time of his day, leaving you waiting up at the common room embarrassingly picking up what was left of your dignity, your pretty mascara ruined and the camera you take everywhere with no pictures taken. Next was a boy from Ravenclaw that he can’t bring himself to remember, who treated you like an inferior creature with his friends and your own friends (when he had the chance, James was always one comment away from hexing the hell out of him, Sirius one step behind). You dated him longer than the rest, under the lie that he loved you deeply despite his mean demeanor, until he made out with a beautiful Ravenclaw girl in front of everyone at the Gryffindor win after party. Remus and Lily still talk about that night with an edge to their voices, their anger barely contained.
Truth be told, Sirius often asked himself how you manage to walk through life with the countless blows your heart has received, but he supposed the same goes to him.
“Stop it,” You whisper, the smile on your face evident in your tone. Sirius could almost picture it, your slightly flushed cheeks and tousled hair. “I can do it.”
A laugh followed, and what was left of Sirius’ heart finishes breaking. “Dove,” Remus laughs, rich and full of fondness. “The least I can do is make your tea, after I so rudely woke you up.” Sirius dares to look up, grateful that none of you can see him from the kitchen. “Poor girl.” He looks at Remus, leaning in, and he closes his eyes harshly.
“It wasn’t rude…” You say, a shyness to your tone. Sirius wishes to kiss you, and Remus seems to be on the same wavelength because he gently holds your face in his hands. You inhale deeply, looking into his amber eyes. “I rather enjoyed it.”
Remus’ smile is blinding. “Oh, you did?” He leans in closer, your foreheads touching.
“Stop.” You whisper, but made no move to stop Remus from pressing his lips to the corner of yours. It seems your smile can’t be kept at bay any longer, either. You hold onto Remus’ wrists, none of you speaking for a moment. You look down, finding more interest in the ratty shirt you’re wearing, the Kinks logo all faded and peeled off. “Remus, I-”
With a bittersweet feeling, Sirius realizes that the shirt you’re wearing is the same one he had been looking for everywhere, and Remus swears he didn’t hide from him because he needed to start buying his own clothes.
“Don’t go shy on me now, lovely girl.” You visibly react to the endearment, and Remus’ smile widens. “What is it, hm?”
“I just… I’m just,” You start, either too lost in his eyes or in your own head to formulate a coherent thought. Sirius feels for you, being the center of Remus’ attention has always been his drug of choice. “I’m so happy…”
Although you seem to not expect it, Remus’ face shows that it was exactly what he wanted to hear, pulling you closer and kissing you fervently like your lips are his lifeline. Sirius looks away, unable to control the turmoil in his stomach and the forming headache in his temples. He buries his face in the cushion and pulls the quilt over his head. The kitchen falls silent, Remus kissing you silly being the only source of sound.
“Dove,” He finally says, both breathless from the kiss and the giddiness of your impromptu love confession. “I’ve never been happier. You,” He kisses you again, earnest. Arms around you and fisting your big shirt as he moves his lips to your jaw, your giggles seeming to increase in volume. “You’re so amazing, and lovely. You’re so…. so lovely. Good luck,” He kisses the corner of your eye, it’s all awkward and messy with his big smile and you laughing at his sudden burst of energy, but not less any loving. “getting rid of me now.”
Good, so I don’t have to see your stupid lovestruck face anymore. Sirius thinks, bitterness and heartbreak both settling in his chest. He was so inside his head, his inner dilemma and confusion about loving both of you that he never imagined you and Remus would find each other somewhere in between.  Although… The lingering touches, Remus complimenting and playing with your soft hair, him running into Remus all dressed up in Diagon Alley more times than he cares to admit, and last night? When none of you were nowhere to be seen?
Of course… Of course. All this time, the guy he had secretly hoped you stopped seeing was in front of him all this time.
He dares to cast another look at the kitchen, only to find it empty. The only sign of what happened in the form of the forgotten tea cups and kettle sitting on the stove. He wonders if it’s too late to slip out while you two are so obviously having another go in the bedroom.
It could be worse, he supposes. If his own indecisiveness pushed both of you to find solace and a loving home in the arms of one another, he supposes that it could definitely be worse. Remus would surely find endless support and love in you after every full moon, your acceptance evident every morning after at the door of his apartment with a box full of potions and food for him and James. And, you… well, Sirius can’t really bring himself to be angry at you for picking Remus over him. Gentle, soft-spoken and emotionally smart Remus who will treat you with the love and devotion you deserve.
Yeah, he sighs deeply. Closing his eyes again, his heartbreak slowly morphing into something close to acceptance. It could be worse.

crumpled letter.
description: sirius black x literally whoever (self-insert or existing character, anything works)
word count: 0.7k
warnings: angst? (basically all I write is angst are we even surprised at this point)
───────────
Sirius was used to being on the receiving end of an absurd number of letters – written confessions – on the regular. It had been admittedly entertaining at first, grown rapidly concerning and ended up becoming quite bothersome. By his sixth year, he’d taken the habit of simply throwing them away: the dizzying shades of pink an eyesore, particularly first thing in the morning.
Blue, black, red and occasionally gold ink, all conveying one clear message through their various deviations from the boring “I like you” (that is, of course, with one singular and minuscule heart over each individual i).
That particular morning, things were about as outwardly ordinary as possible: the nauseatingly colourful pile dropped next to Sirius’ goblet a testament to this statement.
It seemed that the owls’ brief period of strike was over – for Hogwarts had seen this rare phenomenon earlier that year, the animals having reached abnormally high levels of annoyance with the repetitive act of carrying the garish mail to a less-than-grateful black-haired student.
Sirius had half a mind to leave them there. Maybe that would give his faceless – and nameless in some cases – admirers a hint. But he didn’t. Instead, he crumpled them all up with a flick of his wand, a motion he knew by heart, and stuffed them in his pocket (the waiting room before they’d inevitably find their home in the depths of the nearest trash can.)
Amongst them, a white envelope. One so ordinary it should have stood out from the pile. Black ink on a standard piece of parchment.

“Here it goes. I have tried writing this with flourish and charm, but this is my last piece of parchment and I fear I will chicken out if I do not send this now.
I’m aware the chances of you reading this are slim. Perhaps that’s why I decided to write you in the first place. But I have tried everything. And being a small speck in the sandstorm that causes that frown to appear on your forehead every morning seemed a fair price to pay.
Let me start, or better yet continue, by clarifying one thing: this is not a love letter. I am not writing to beg for a chance of your eyes meeting mine in anything more than a passing coincidence. Instead, I hope that this will end up at the bottom of your pocket, and that the rage I hold will burn a hole right through that expensive black silk, setting the rest of the letters aflame and silencing the voices you crush daily with the barest swish of the wrist.
You, Sirius Orion Black, are infuriating. Your face is irksome. Your grin is positively maddening. The curve of your cheekbones, the angle of your jawline, the glint in your eyes, the way you so effortlessly carry yourself – as if taking up space is what you were born to do. I’ve come to believe that you are taunting me indirectly.
And I wish you would stop. Or maybe what’s even more aggravating is that I can’t picture a life in which you do. It is unfair, that we are unable to look at the sun for too long without being blinded, and yet no matter how long my eyes rest on you, my vision stays intact.
I have made it my mission to ignore you. But not only has this proven impossible, my stubborn nature has blown this situation out of proportions, resulting in a pair of invisible, unmovable binoculars that constantly seek you out having replaced my eyes.
I have no explanation, no enchantment ever recorded matches the effect you seem to have on me. This slow, torturous, pit in my stomach knowing that somewhere between these walls, your chest is rising and falling in rhythm with my own.
I have many more insults to throw your way, but I am running out of paper. All that to say, though you may believe you dispose only of devoted admirers, there is someone in this very castle whose life has been thrown off its axis for no apparent reason other than your very existence. I hope that getting this off my chest and sending it your way will break this unbearable cycle. If not, this is my formal way of telling you to fuck off Sirius Black. Fuck off and put my life back the way it was.”
