The Wolfpack is so punk but I feel like it's just because they suffered such an extreme sample selection bias. Like when you watch 'Rising Malevolence' Plo Koon just exudes serene vibes, and Wolffe is all calm with his neat dress grays and his regulation haircut and soft voice. And then Sinker and Boost take off their helmets and it's like double red mohawk and beach blonde up in here. Like was all the 104th like that or is it just that the two punkiest troopers ended up in that escape pod and suddenly became 50% of the battalion?

The brotherly 'you are an idiot but our idiot' kiss on the temple in the quiet of the bunks or in the shadows of the LAAT to remind them they are not machines and they care.

The 'wonderful Job cadet.' kiss on the top of their head from Shaak-Ti in the early stages of the war when she was not privy (or did not want to see) the devastation her boys would suffer and then they would brag about it to their batch afterwards.

The Keldabe kiss that shakes the helmet but just enough to get that trooper moving from a hot zone.

A subtle brush of hands in prep of a mission.

'I saved you the good slop' kind of thought in the commissary.

The quiet understanding and agreement to allow for a nightlight near one of their bunks even though it disturbs them as they sleep because everyone needs comfort.

Much more surprising to Comet than the apparent sleeping arrangement is the appearance of one of the clones.

“Cyar’alor,” the brother in question grins, lifting his head from the other's chest. Stark white curls flop forward into eyes of honey-gold, as opposed to Jango’s deep brown. Comet is awestruck. “You abandoned us to pick up a stray?” he snarks lazily. 

Oh. Comet's next step stalls, foot sliding backward instead. The half step toward leaving is enough to catch both Wolffe and the third man's attention. 

“Sinker,” the man under the light haired vod scolds, hitting him in the ribs. He must be Boost, then. 

Sinker's smile falters as his gaze flicks back and forth between Boost and Wolffe's disapproving faces before settling finally on Comet. At whatever traitorous banthashit is happening in Comet's face, guilt overcomes Sinker's smile. 

“Oh, you're just a puppy,” he says, voice suddenly soft. 

Comet should hate that. It's too much like the jokes he heard on Kamino after his assignment to the 104th became public knowledge. 

The runt of the litter, getting sent to play with the big dogs, his brothers liked to say.  

He heard it so much the assignment in and of itself began to feel like a cruel joke. 

Still, the way Sinker says it.. it doesn't feel like condescension somehow. It doesn't even feel like a joke. 

“I’m sorry,” he continues earnestly, hauling himself up to sitting and then leaning forward a bit. “Please don't go, I love strays.”

Alpha-17 went personally to the 104th and met Plo Koon just so he could determine whether not he was okay with him being a father figure to Wolffe. Plo completely understood why he was there, despite being told that it was for an “inspection for the new 104th battalion,” he played along anyway. But he also made sure to be extra extra nice to Wolffe that day and kept on placing a hand in his shoulder and smiling at him. Seventeen was confused and a little scared because he thought that Jedi were supposed to be detached from people and not so openly loving.

In the end he determines that Plo is a good father figure as long as seventeen gets Wolffe on the weekends
