Arroyo lore time!

She was once a SkyWing, but was driven away from the Sky Kingdom after it was found out that she was an animus. She was soon adopted by a lesbian couple: Tabernas the SandWing, and Sunfish the SeaWing. Because of her old family, she felt out of place with her animus magic, and just wanted to forget her past. So she enchanted herself to look like her parents, and, with a final enchantment, removed her own magic.

Here are my refs for Hyacinth, Blueberry, and Kelp! (with some backstory added).

Here's Blueberry, or Berry for short. She's an independent female rainwing who spends most of her time in the healing huts, comforting the sick and wounded. She also enjoys training dragonets how to aim their venom and teaching them how to fly. Speaking of flying, she wakes up early for a morning flight, sometimes catching a glimpse of the sunrise.

Despite being independent, she yearns for a mate but could never find a sufficient one throughout the rainforest. That was, until she met Kelp.

Kelp is a male seawing who serves as a guard under Queen Coral's rule. He's often not the center of attention, and that's okay for him; he just wants to live his life in peace. Although he's a humble soldier, he loves adventure.

One night, as he scavenged the sea for a sufficient amount of food, perhaps a succulent whale for the queen, he was attacked by an aggressive great white. While most seawings could handle large sharks, this one was bigger than him and he was considered to be smaller than the average seawing. He was badly injured, with several broken bones and torn muscles. He supposedly became unconscious and washed ashore.

Blueberry found healed him, where he'd have to stay in there for a couple of weeks. They quickly bonded: Kelp found a lover of adventure and Blueberry found her true mate. Even after Kelp was completely healed and left, the rainwing and the seawing made consistent meetings in the dark of night, where no one could catch them. Soon, the seawings noticed that Kelp left for "long hunts" and rainwings noticed that Berry wasn't in the huts as often; they slowly became suspicious...

A couple of months into Berry's and Kelp's relationship, Hyacinth was born. She's a female rain/sea hybrid. She calls herself Cinth for short. She has glowing scales only on her front and hind legs, can't shoot venom, and has a very small frill. Her tail can uncurl, but she prefers not to.

She was often bullied for her strange appearance: her tiny frill, her peculiar scales, even the way she flew and swam weirded the other dragons out. Her birth was the start of the seawing-rainwing conflict. The seawings were royalty and believed they were much superior to lazy rainwings, and the rainwings believed they were much better thanks to Queen Glory and didn't want some snooty authority to tell them what to do.

It was up to Cinth to resolve the issue...

I love you King Ripper, who stood by his queen's side through it all and benevolently helped his subjects in need however he could.

I love you Arson, the bipolar firescales SkyWing guy with anger issues who everyone is afraid of.

I love you Bilby, the SandWing man with endless patience, hospitality, and talent in cooking.

I love you Aquamarine, the nb SeaWing who only wants to be with their beloved bf Bubble.

I love you Duckweed and Hyacinth, the elderly MudWing and RainWing couple who defied all odds to be together and are now happy grandfathers to many dragonets.

I love you Honeybee and Ladybird, the HiveWings who have coffee together every morning and were once faced with stopping Ladybird's aunt Black Widow's vampire cult.

And I love you Bloodmoon, a Night/Sky hybrid and the first OC I ever made, who goes to school at Jade Mountain and struggles with managing his depression and anxiety.

"being an animus, mind-reader and a prophet of the future, artemis already would've hidden herself away from society.

So how was she to explain her frostbreath, fire and flamesilk? Her solution: don't. It was bad enough that her strange antennae was fluffy, and had the four rounded wings to mark a SilkWing. Pushing aesthetics aside, she wasn't even sure how she was lucky enough to get a natural combination of frostbreath, fire, flamesilk, mind-reading, seeing the future and being an ANIMUS. It felt ridiculous that she had to be cursed and blessed. So she hid in the shadows, and never attempted to use her magic or flamesilk, and she tried her hardest to cancel out her visions and keep her mind-reading at bay. But her incredibly odd coloration and scales with fur didn't make anything easier to hide away herself-or her powers.

For the first 7 years of her life she was meticulously cautious and kept herself out of sight; until society found HER. The dragons took her to populated cities, preaching that Artemis was the 'Destined One' who would save all from harm.

'The Prophesized One', 'Our Goddess', 'The Huntress', 'Our Moonlit Maiden'... many nicknames was she called by. She was worshipped-praised and elevated on golden pedestal. Artemis became dragonkind's Goddess and Savior-but with such titles, they came with pressure and greed. The dragons would beg for Artemis to solve their problems with magic or her flamesilk. They demanded more and more everyday, never satisfied with her anymore-but still worshipped her and brought her gifts and offerings, acting as if material wealth would immediately make up for their selfishness and mistreatment towards her.

Eventually, Artemis-understandably-snapped. Before, she had done her best to avoid using magic, but she had no such hesitation now as she magicked anything to murder the dragons who had used and abused her for years; centuries, even! She foresaw this-and she wanted it to be reality. The screams of fear were like music to her ears, and the panicked thoughts made this incredibly enjoyable. Artemis watched the destruction with twisted glee-

revenge felt truly freeing."

Topaz’s Backstory

Topaz once lived in a dungeon for his first years of life. On his 7th birthday a mysterious female dragon proposed to him, this dragon she promised to love him fully and to cherish him and to give him kids. His mother advised him not to accept her offer but since he hasn’t interacted with with dragons very often beside his mother he thought that this mysterious dragon truly did loved him. years later he wishes he listened to his mom after he was trapped in a one sided marriage. The mysterious dragon only wanted him to show him off To others, he was only a “prize” to her, she often used him to bet, she was very confident that she would win. One day she lost her bet but she didn’t try and fight to keep her husband and her rings. Topaz was simply a jewel she no longer fancied. Topaz was taken to a prison underground were he was chained. Once he manages to escape he vows to get revenge on the mysterious dragon And that she will regret the day she ever proposed to him. He has learned that people will steal from you and leave you with nothing and that any ray of sunlight will be crushed.

Wof beta (Roblox game) annoys me. Like I was playing as my Skywing oc who is an ancient animus who travels into the future to live in a world where they wouldn't be hunted down and killed by there tribe. I thought this seemed like a reasonable oc backstory but I got called out for "cheating" and kicked out of the rp because skywings didn't have animus dragons and I was clearly "too inexperienced" for the stupid Roblox game if I thought that. Like sheesh it's a rp game on roblox why r ppl making requirements and doing so much gatekeeping.

Today's prompt for @wof-october-prompts was OCs so I drew Elegance and Ptarmigan~

Sooo fun OC backstory time -- Ptarmigan originated as "Elegance's friend Ptarmigan" where it wasn't entirely clear if he was a real person, cuz every story she told about him was wild and TOTALLY unbelievable.

Turns out no, Ptarmigan is very much real, he just LOVES telling tall tales and Elegance is the kind of dragon who takes pretty much everything she's told at face value xD

I can't show it in a black and white image but Ptarmigan is supposed to be an Icewing/Skywing hybrid? The dark scales here are a reddish-brown, like the real bird's feathers.

Backstory:

Poodle was born and raised in the Jewel Hive by her parents Satin and Tupelo she always dreamed of being a model or a spinner but ended up being assigned to the Bloodworm Hive as a servant for a wealthy family. She ended up meeting the Bloodworm Hive Chrysalis and after a few years took up a leading position in the group.

She is charismatic and caring eventually joining the Silkwing council after Queen Wasp is dethroned. She has a deep love of art and fashion and helps start up Silkwing owned businesses to help fund the new kingdom

I love seeing the difference between people's first WoF OCs and their most recent, cause the first one will be some simple palette design with like generic personality traits like "kind" or "quiet" while their most recent one either has a beautifully intricate design with an expertly crafted backstory and personality or looks like it isn't even from WoF
