This might not be a new idea, but do you think that RainWings would be bartenders? Cause I TOTALLY think they would be. With all their rainforest fruit that could be fermented, who knows what boozy ass drinks they've come up with?

Also drunk dragons are really funny to me lol

Rainwings feel like they'd create some fucking BANGER drinks. like knock-you-on-your-ass-if-you-haven't-grown-up-with-it drinks. A drunk Rainwing would be quite a sight, I can't imagine their "composure" of color sticking after a few good drinks, but I don't think it'd be a clear read- just this watercolor painting of shifting whorls of color as each thought registers with 100% sincerity and totality. Rainwings party hard, this is an undeniable fact

Rainwing bartenders probably wouldn't be a full time job but I imagine a "party planner" role being something that comes up in Rainwing life. Probably before major events or for parties they would temporarily jump the fruit queue, so to speak, and have a bit of social currency/power for setting up the party. In a flight without much power struggle/economy, I think a good bartender is as much a respectable position and authority in Rainwing matters as the main gardeners or builders. I also would imagine they would have a building or area for fermenting drinks.

I’m thinking the elements was a animus gift to all the tribes so specific tribes have the specific elements

Anemo: Silkwing

Geo: Mudwing

Electro: Nightwing and Hivewing

Dendro: Leafwing and Sandwing

Hydro: Seawing

Pyro: Skywing and Rainwing

Cryo: Icewing

A dragon needs to have some of the corresponding tribes blood to get the elemental magic. I can soo clearly see so many characters as dragons so many more sketches may be on their way! (Feel free to suggest characters)

Wanted to do a study on what some of the wof tribes would more realistically look like, and this is one of those design ideas! I wanted to design SeaWings to look more sharklike and hydrodynamic- hopefully I did a good job lol

I also did some headshots on what some of the main SeaWing characters might look like in this style!

Also managed a webbed talon closeup with no reference that I’m super proud of

As Tundra.skies ‘s (insta) contest is coming to a close I figure I better get my post in! I based this fellow upon the little stuffed doll Void has in his talons (Since I brought up the idea in the comments I hope I did not take over anything you had planned, and if I did, Trout can be un canon of course lol) So, more about him here:

Trout is a legend in the detective business in the Seawing kingdom, revolutionizing the process and catching over 1000+ individuals in his lifetime not including getting classified information on others. He is quite egotistical and brash, preferring to work alone and isn’t afraid of being snappy to those who hire him- as he is in high demand. His popularity even landed him a spot in the Nightwing courts of law school as a professor, which is where he currently resides with a focus on criminal justice. In his mid-age he finds himself out competed by those who are younger and has been taking it rather harshly, his reputation as a strict old professor overshadowing his achievements. When, suddenly an anonymous dragon asked for his services- all the way across the continent. Aiming to catch his former glory he accepted and has put his teaching career on hold, dropping everything to collect dirt on the Rising Dunes for the few who oppose them. But he has taken on no small task, and he feels as if the whole desert is against him. The only positive he has is the locals have no information on him, although it’s only a matter of time before they go snooping. His main focus is on Void, struggling to contain the information he has from the prying dragon. Although the rest of Polaris’s children have also given him threats to deal with. (I also made his scarf resemble a collar and tie, but it does have a hood in the back to cover his features and protect from sand.) Hope yall enjoy!! ✨✨

So from what I understand, the application process to get into Jade Mountain Academy is a bit wishy washy. As far as I know the students are usually picked by the Queens of each Tribe but also the DoD get as say in who they want there as well. Or something like that.

The only reason I'm asking is because I want to know who was shifting through all the SandWing applications, dozens upon dozens of little dragonets who just wanted a chance to go to a nice school, and decided that the grown ass woman named Onyx needed to be there.

Not really, but I like it !!! dragons would have so much more precise fire control, I think you could get some wonderful art out of it

I’ve been doing a crap ton of digging and researching (thanks to @bonefall giving me access to some of their notes; you’re a godsend) various ways to make the fealty cats more… advanced, in a sense. I’ve got a lot of ideas not only for various technology and harvesting and trade and the like, but I’ve also been digging into the fealty cats dipping their toes into animal husbandry…

And, since OFND is a fantasy world in the wake of a major geological event that definitely tossed some things around, that just gives them more access to things ;)

Fenlanders who raise and breed small hogs (or maybe moles!) to root out edible fungi and insects from various points in their territory.

Fenlanders carefully caring for and raising pickerel frogs, tipping weapons in their poison, and handling them with special, thick gloves.

Fenlanders and Riverwardens carefully breeding fireflies!

Riverwardens farming small, freshwater squid (unique to OFND; freshwater squid and octopi don’t exist IRL) for ink and to eat as a delicacy.

Moorsweepers who herd all manner of mindless: sheep, goats, deer (most commonly elk and caribou), bison, etc etc.

Moorsweeper falconers.

Retired historians (veterans) who employ the aid of smaller animals (mindless or mindful!) as emotional support.

On a similar note: blind cats employing smaller guide animals.

The Woodruffians are the only ones who I can’t think of a specific husbandry for… I imagine that since their culture is so highly focused on ���action” that they don’t herd or breed, they just hunt, especially with how crowded and naturally fertile their territory is.
