Today is World Mental Health Day! It is a torch carried now by the WHO (World Health Organization) to bring attention to issues surrounding mental health and psychological disorders, so yours truly is also out here trying to draw attention to this area which has had a profound effect on my own life.
While others will be surely be discussing depression, anxiety, and trauma related disorders on their profiles, I will be staying in my lane, today, and discussing personality disorders (specifically those of Cluster B). Seeing as how I am professionally diagnosed as having three of them, it seemed only appropriate, especially given the recent fascination with "diagnosing" people in society whom we dislike with these very disorders.
Rather than drone on further in the confines of a Facebook status, I have inserted a link to my blog where I detail what life with these horrific and misunderstood disorders is like. Each of my entries is catered to a specific symptom or aspect of my disorders with the goal of demystifying them and the stigma surrounding this field of psychology.
The entry I have selected to share with you all is one which introduces the reader to the world of personality disorders, discusses some of the key myths about the disorders, and sets the tone for the road ahead. Now, out of respect for my friends with trauma-related disorders, consider this a *TRIGGER WARNING* for subject matter which discusses the following: abuse, self-harm, and suicide.
If you know someone who has a personality disorder and whom you think would benefit from reading my blog, please, feel free to share it with them. If you would just like to share the blog in general to help spread information on this field of psychology, by all means, go right ahead. And naturally, if you ever want to ask me personal questions about my disorders, I am at full disclosure.
Finally, if you want to like my posts, share them with others, and follow my blog for all future entries on the Cluster B Personality Disorders, feel free to click the link to the full blog: https://schrodingersmirror.blogspot.com/
