14. I’m in the Mood For: Any fics where WWX submits to the Lans for cleansing in exchange for safety for the Wens. I read Decay by ante bunny and loved the premise, but wanted more focus on the consequences of the cleansing.

I love the theory that resentful energy can’t heal but can hold things in stasis, and thus WWX is literally being held together with resentful energy. Because otherwise how did he survive getting stabbed and dropped at great height and starving all without a golden core.

It seems like something WWX would do - allow his execution is exchange for the Wen safety. In fact, I guess I’m in the mood for any fics where cleansing WWX reveals injuries or WWX giving himself up in exchange for Wen safety?Thank you, mods! You are awesome! @philomathmac​

🍊 Who’s a character you don’t write for that often, but keep meaning to write for more? (They’re so interesting! But maybe you have trouble pinning them down, or keep getting distracted by another blorbo…)

Oh there is,,, so many. The top of my current list is Eddie Diaz from 9-1-1. I've only written a handful of 9-1-1 fics and i've only published one of them, but they've all been largely from Bucks perspective, and about Bucks issues, but I am rotating Eddie Diaz in my brain 24/7 like a rotaisserie chicken I love him a lot.

There's also Dani Rojas, who I kept meaning to write a fic for and then just never did before the hyperfixation died. RIP to the hair washing wip in my drafts that will probably never see the light of day, you had so much potential.

🍍 What kind of AUs do you like? Are there any AUs you hate or just generally have beef with?

Me personally I'm always a big fan of a high school AU and a superhero AU, especially as an all in one. Doesn't matter what fandom I will find one. As for AUs that I hate,,, idk if this counts but Crossovers do my head in for reasons unknown to me I've always hated them. When I was a little kid and Hannah Montanna, Suit Life on Deck and Wizards of Waverly Place did that one big crossover episode I got so mad I threw my Hannah Montanna pencil case over the back fence in protest. I've always hated them. I also don't fuck with any kind of mafia or organised crime au, I find that shit boring.

Thoughts on Incest in Fanfics

So I have been passively thinking about incest shipping for a while. And I think my stance on it has changed a bit.

For the most part, I used to think incest shipping was detestable, case closed. Because picturing siblings together sexually or romantically is gross. I still hold firm to that. Way back when, I leaned towards fanfictions with incest being banned.

But then I would see people say that incest shipping was bad in fanfiction even if the author made the two characters unrelated.

For example, I think my accidental intro to incest shipping as a young teen was Jalex (Justin and Alex Russo from Wizards of Waverly Place). I think the pairing got a lot of steam after the movie. I never shipped them per se but I did read a variety of fics with the pairing. I saw ones where straight-up incest was committed which I usually found disgusting. Then, on the slightly better but still not great side were the adoption AUs (so Justin and Alex were not biological siblings but were still raised together). Finally, you had the AUs where they were never siblings. Or maybe something happened that caused them to no longer be siblings.

Why is the last scenario wrong? The main issue with incest shipping is the incest...so if the characters are not related then what's the problem??

I think people forget that characters are not real. And fanfiction can be separate from canon. The author can use the character however they want in their fanfiction.

Sometimes you may want to ship two characters because they look nice together or they have amazing interactions. Even in real life, objectively I would totally date my cousin or my brother if they were not related to me. Because they are godly men and I see they have desirable traits I would want in a husband. The good thing is that in fiction, unlike in real life, character relationships can be changed to fit the author's whims. Going back to Jalex, I think Alex and Justin are very attractive characters and would make a hot couple. The only issue is that their sibling dynamics make their relationship entertaining so removing that to pave the way for romance never works for me.

As a more mature person, my view of incest in fanfiction has changed. Although I still find it distasteful when authors try to justify/moralize incest in their fics, I think it's wrong to bash someone for liking the idea of two characters together just because they are related in a fake, fictional world. These characters are not real. Fiction is not reality. It's only an issue if the person is lusting over their real-life family members.

Q: what plot/vibes is it most similar to?

THIS IS A HARD ONE it's very much PMD in a PMD sense? a bit darker than the main series from the start because the future isn't the kindest place per-say. I try and keep the tone similar to the main series! I suppose it has a quite a bit of influence from an RPG called Oneshot.

Q: Summarize the main cast in 1-2 sentences!

MAIN CAST: Human/Player: Awkward little human, overthinks EVERYTHING, tries to be supportive and help out. Can't really fight like Pokemon can, so they're just kinda moral/Task support.

Treeko: NEEDS TO SAVE THE WORLD THERES NO TIME TO STOP GUYS WE NEED TO SAVE THE WORLD. doesn't sleep much, rise and GRIND SO very motivated, lost pretty much everything and is determined to keep others from losing in the way he has.

Dusclops: Has a strong moral compass, but no one really knows where it's pointing. Cares for the cast, but is reluctant to get close to them.

LESSER KNOWN/non canon CAST: Leafeon: Unwillingly put into a leader position that they aren't very capable of. Stoic and very determined, tries not to let their stress show.

Flygon: "ERM actually guys", scout!! One of the main researchers. Does a lot of field work + rescue missions and is one of the more self-motivated members of the team.

Shuppet: Therapist friend, keeping the team mentally sound mostly. Is younger than they let on. Goofy goober, best friends with hoppip

Hoppip: A BABY!!!!! They were born into the world and orphaned recently, very innocent, can do no wrong. Moral support. No sunlight, so they rely a lot on leafeon for survival.

!! BMC Wizards of Waverly Place AU Posting !!

(Original post where I talk about it for the first time)

I got thinking about this au again today, and I think I know of a way I could make the SQUIP the antagonist still while not having it serve as a pill sized supercomputer in Jeremy’s head.

I figure the SQUIP would work best in this case as an external antagonist, or more accurately, a group of external antagonists. I’m not sure what creatures they’d be, but their goal would be unity in the form of conversion and/or extermination. I think it’d be interesting to explore them being angels or dark angels, as the main cast doesn’t have those creatures, but I’m not entirely sure they’d fit. I think it’d be more likely that they’re either mortals that are scared of non-mortals, or they’re wizards that want to control all of the other wizards and mortals and want to get rid of all of the other creatures.

I think either way, in the beginning, it would start as a small group of people that over time continue to recruit like-minded people so that they can gain power, just like how in the original musical, over time it goes from just Rich having a SQUIP to everyone except Michael having one.

Perhaps this would be the event that causes Michael to reveal his wizardry to Jeremy.
