Hello yall!

Just a little end of the year update before I get into the rush of the holiday season.

The very talented @sunnyrosewritesstuff and I have a Modern AU Bagginshield fic coming out in December as part of the THAUC event (teasers coming soon)

After that I'm taking a break from Bagginshield to write some more varied stuff within Tolkien's universe as well as some other fandoms (dragon age).

Please note I'm not going to stop writing Bagginshield. You would have to pry those blorbos from my cold dead hands. I have a few Bagginshield fics planned out (including some omegaverse), but if I don't switch it up now and again, I'm going to burn myself out. So you might see some other hobbit pairing and some Dragon-age fics from me in the coming year.

My main focus for 2025 is Sparks and Gardens, as well as Wildflowers, another long-format fic I've been working on.

One Year Later:

He was a wreck. For weeks now.

Neteyam was the new Olo'eyktan. He had completed his training and was now running the clan with Jake until he was old enough to do it alone. The ceremony had been six months ago. And it was wonderful. The only thing that had ruined this happy moment was Y/N's absence.

She left a hole in Neteyam's heart, that hasn't healed to this day. He had refused to choose a wife. Had made it clear to his parents that for him, there was only Y/N. At first they were stubborn, but then they understood and accepted his decision. And so the new Olo'eyktan was half a year without a Tsahìk. Witing for her return.

Norm had informed the Sullys: Y/N and Spider would be back in a month. At times, Neteyam had been terrified that she would just stay on Earth. Among her own kind. That she would forget him. But Norm had kept him updated. He kept in touch with Y/N on Earth and sometimes greeted her from the Sullys.

And today it was finally time. Y/N would come back. For days Neteyam was excited about it and incredibly  jittery. He felt nauseous and had asked Kiri for medicine, it was so bad. "You really are hopeless, brother.," his sister said, amused when she saw his condition.

Kiri and the other Sully kids were waiting with their parents at their tent. Y/N arrived yesterday evening, Neteyam could see the spaceship from afar. He would have runned down there immediately, but Y/N had to rest from the flight. This morning, she would visit them in the woods with Spider. Finally!

His palms were damp with nervousness and he was pacing forth and back, unfocused. Jake eyed his son and couldn't help but smile. He nudged his wife, who gave him a knowing look. Neteyam didn't notice any of this. Not even that Lo'ak teased him about it. His thoughts had long been on Y/N's arrival. What would the reunion be like? Had she changed? Had he himself changed? What if she didn't love him anymore? Oh Eywa - what if she had met a human man on earth? His thoughts circled uncontrollably until Tuk suddenly called out, "They're coming!"

And indeed. Two blue figures emerged from the green of the forest. Neteyam recognized her immediately and he let out a tense breath. Spider's physique was the same. He was wearing Na'vi clothes as always, and his dreadlocks were now black. Beside him, however...

His heart skipped a moment as the two approached. They were Na'vi. Avatars. Spider looked as always, only a little heavier and with blue skin. A broad smile on his face.

His eyes fell on Y/N. She looked the same as she did a year ago. Almost. Her figure was slender, as it had been when she was human. She was still wearing human clothing, shorts and top, but she looked so different. Her blue skin fascinated him.

Spider and Y/N stopped in front of them. Jake and Neytiri hugged both kids affectionately. Lo'ak and Spider greeted each other with their usual handshake and Neteyam's younger brother marveled at Spider's new look. Y/N just stood in front of them and stared at Neteyam. The others exchanged short words with her, but she only had eyes for him. And when Tuk released her from her deep embrace, she stepped closer to him. Neteyam's heart was pounding in his chest. He didn't know what to do.

But Y/N made the decision for him. She lunged forward and wrapped her arms around him. The knot in Neteyam's chest untied and he hugged her back tightly. It was almost the same as before, only that she was almost as tall as he was.

Tears welled up in his eyes and he had to use all his strength to blink them away. As they parted, Y/N cupped her hands on his cheeks and looked at him in astonishment. Her eyes explored his face and a wide smile spread across her lips.

"You're Olo'eyktan!" Tears ran down her cheeks. Neteyam could only nod. He had a big lump in his throat. His hands ran through her soft hair.

She looked so different and yet the same. Y/N no longer needed a breathing mask like she used to. She looked a bit older and radiated a calmer atmosphere than a year ago. She had grown up. Overwhelmed, Neteyam eyed her new body.

She was as petite as ever, but her arms seemed stronger and her hips wider. Her skin had the same shade of blue as his own. White dots adorned her forehead and yellow eyes looked at him tenderly. It seemed strange at first, but the more he looked at her, the more she became the human girl he had fallen in love with. He recognized the small mole on her cheekbone that he used to think was so cute. Her smile was the same. And her lips looked just as wonderful as they used to. Only now they weren't covered by a mask.

She had changed. But that was okay, he himself had changed too. He had grown a bit in the last year and was now even taller than his dad. His muscles were showing through the hard training and his face was more defined, more masculine. At least that's what Kiri had said with a laugh. His hair had also grown longer.

They had both changed. Had matured and gotten older. But their feelings for each other had only solidified over the past year. She looked different, yes. But it was still Neteyam's Y/N. He knew that as soon as he placed his lips on hers and inhaled her familiar scent. And all of a sudden, all the tension left him. She was back. She was still his girl. And nothing, not even distant worlds, could ever separate them.

Witing update for 2024

So, at the moment I have been working on multiple writing projects.

I have been writing a very sweet FizzarOzzie Valentine's Day one-shot I am very excited about . I promise it will be sweet!

I'm also working on a one-shot about a mermaid Robo Fizz (with @inavictoriaart1 ). I'm so excited for you all to meet this sweet little mermaid Robo. He is the best. Just the sweetest little bot who wants company 

I will, of course, carry on with "One Lucky Little Imp" and "The Heart of Pride Gala". Both of those are still going strong in my heart. 

I also have a few more FizzarOzzie one-shots that I will tackle after Valentine's Day and even a BlitzFizz on the way, too. I have so many writing projects planned this year that I am so excited about. I hope everybody can enjoy them

A quick little update..

Hey everyone,

I hope you’ve all had a soft and great Christmas. Whether you’ve spent it with family or on your own, I hope this time was gentle on your heart. I hope you get some love spread on your soul and that Santa brought you some nice gifts. If you celebrated another holiday, allow me to hope that you’ve still had a nice time with your loved ones.

I’m coming here with a quick little update regarding my fics. Nothing major, but I thought you deserved to know.

I might take a little step back from witing on Tumblr for the time being. Truth be told, Tumblr isn’t doing it for me right now. The last pieces I posted went completely unnoticed, I barely got any feedback and as I said several times, I’m running on those. Some people thrive when they’re being left alone, some people need to get outside and see the world to be able to write. I’ve never been much of a writer when feedback wasn’t provided. I run on comments about what you liked or not, about what part made you tick, about what your emotions were when you were reading my words. Some writers see writing as that solitary activity, where you hole yourself down in a cavern and write until your soul can’t take it anymore. I see writing as sharing, as a vision that I had and that I gift away, as a little world that I invite you in. The last few weeks have been tougher, because as much as I appreciate the likes, they don’t feed my soul like they do other people. They don’t fill my creative juices the slightest. 

So I’m taking a step back, to protect myself a little and to make sure I don’t completely run out of this.

And if I’m being 100% honest with you, I take a step back because I’m working on a really big project and I can’t do everything at once.

I’ll pop back up every once in a while, I’m not saying that I won’t post anything in the meantime nor that I won’t come and reblog a few things. I’m just taking a step back because I can’t keep pouring myself up here and expecting to be filled back up in return. 

I’m not an AI. I don’t spill words onto a page just by clicking a button. I write because I don’t think I could live if I wasn’t creating something but I can’t keep doing so without taking care of myself too.

I hope you’ll understand and I hope you’ll still be there when I’ll be back for good.

Aw!!! Thank you so much! Hopefully I'll have the next chapter done tomorrow if the writing gods are merciful. We're about to hit a point in my two main fics (not including new Pantalone fic because that's more for me) where I'm writing stuff I've been dying to get to, so hopefully I'll be updating a little more frequently. (No guarantees, but fingers crossed!)

I am especially excited for the upcoming chapters of the dad fic, ohhhh I wanna talk about my ideas so bad but I must wait for my chapters...

Difference between show reel and portfolio:

Show reel is a collection of your best work from the portfolio in a 30-60 sec video and edit it in a way that its creative and well put in 1 cohesive peice (transitions etc).

Portfolio is a collection of all your present day work

There will be things called pitches to help with proposals. Sometimes quantity beasts the quality on the proposal as long as it looks good and formal.

do your research: looki into artists you admire and try learn from them. Follow their carreer, interview, creative process etc. Emulate successfull people.

Focus on what you exactky want to do! Do work you really have a connection with.

Assigntmet: update blog, wite at least 1 article about an artist.

Work life balance is important.

Great power comes great responsibility goes both ways.

When researching look into why they did the thing, how much time they had to invest into it, how much it would have costed and how they would have di=one it with proof and citation. Do both primary and secondary research. Make an attempt to reach out to the people you research o you never know if they can respond.

Be a professional, organised and healthy for increase in productivity.

Dont be precious about yourself anymore, dont stress out your work just try your best and get it done. Ego is importand and some pride but dont let it effect your productivi

"fail fast" better than being too precious as by failing fast over and over you can gradually improve upon the work which is much more effecient than working really hard on 1 project and it doing mediocore.

Dont name drop in resume unless they are very popular/ important people. If you are going to add context.

Start strong/ with the important information first in the resume.

Dont say something fluffy as a career objective. Make it have meaning and be reasonable. Make it in lingn with employers objective.

dont mention all grades and old academics its not a report card.

Use bold a bit in resume to catch the vuewers eye, but not too much

Writing Update 51

I’m afraid I haven’t made much progress on A Pinch of Distrust this week, other than writing the fire-fighting scene that opens chapter 8.  But it’s not bad news, as I’ve been doing other writing-related activities.

The first is a spot of worldbuilding.  I’d always been bothered by how my fairies were more-or-less just miniature humans with wings, with a few cultural differences between town fairies and forest fairies, and between both types and humans.  I wanted to set them apart from the humans a bit.

While browsing my Tumblr feed, I saw & reblogged this post showing elemental designs for the fairies from the Legend of Zelda series.  It got me thinking about how the elemental magic in my own stories may affect the fairies.  It’s always been canon that they have a closer connection to magic than humans.  They don’t have to have skin contact with crystals to draw energy from them, and they are drawn to their elements.  By contrast, humans (Rychillans) have their elemental magic bestowed upon them in a ceremony.

As such, I asked what if the elemental magic was even more closely entwined with the fairies.  I’m going to make a separate post for what I came up with, as it’s quite detailed.  But they start out as the ‘miniature human’, until about the age of eight when they get drawn to their element.  After the first time they touch a crystal of that element, the magic infuses them.  It causes some changes - skin colour, eye colour, hair, wings gain texture, that sort of thing.  All of these bring them ‘in line’ with that element.  For example, a florakind may grow leafs (or leaf-like skin) over their wings.  However, their basic physiology - human figure, butterfly-shaped wings, etc. remains the same.

The other thing I’ve been working on is a key scene for two of my characters.  It’s for books five and six, but the words started coming to me on Thursday.  I had to write them down before I forgot.

Book five concerns a case that cuts very close to the bone for Karis, and it brings her back to an old loss she never really got over.  But this story is told from Tenora’s perspective.  Book six sees Karis working solo, investigating a murder aboard an airship while reeling from the events of the previous book.  So this scene will act as the final scene of book five (from Tenora’s perspective), and the prologue for book six (from Karis’ pespective).  So I’m writing this scene from Karis’ perspective first, then rewriting it from Tenora’s perspective.  It’ll have the exact same actions and dialogue, but the narrative, the character’s thoughts and feelings, will be from the different perspectives.

I’ve done a story like this before, back when I wrote Doctor Who fanfiction.  I did a two part ‘missing scene’ story, set during the events of the TV story School Reunion.  It took place the night after they met Sarah Jane Smith, and had Sarah and Mickey talking about what it meant to travel with the Doctor.  Each part was the same story, once from Sarah’s perspective, and again from Mickey’s perspective.  I mainly did it as an experiment, to see how that would work.  So now I’ll be doing something similar here.
