Seeing Song had been an incredible shock for Ben, but seeing the state the other man had been in was enough to nearly drown him in guilt. He felt foolish. Of course, he would have had no reason not to believe that Song had simply chosen to leave town. Even still. Perhaps he could have pushed harder to figure out where Song had gone. Perhaps he could have done anything, really. Anything to save the other man his fate. And yet he hadn't.

Ben stood as Song entered his office at the Coalition Headquarters. "Please come in," he said. "I won't... ask if you're okay. That seems horribly inadequate. But are you getting settled back in alright? Is there anything that you need? If the Coalition-- If I can help out in any way, you'll tell me, won't you?"
