Of all the stupid things rich people did, voluntarily wandering around in mazes had to top the list. When Lady Melville had suggested - rather pointedly, Maud thought - that Lady Prudence accompany her on a walk around the gardens, Maud automatically thought roses, begonias, ferns. Not a maze.

When Maud worked at Montmere, she could not recall Lady Prudence going in for strolls. She had her stick, and occasionally her brother Mister Patrick would jokingly wheel her around in that cane chair, but Lady Prudence was a solitary, sedentary being - unlike Maud. Even wandering at this sedate pace made Maud's feet itch. Why did ladies always have to wander? Why couldn't they stride?

"Thank you for asking me on a walk, my lady," Maud remarked, trying not to sound too awkward or too Irish. Her accent had thickened in the weeks they'd been at Montmere, as if in defiance to the curated vowels of their hosts.

Maud glanced at Lady Prudence and resisted the urge to fidget. Mrs Starkweather had organised her wardrobe for the day: a pale dress, net gloves, a flouncy hat. Maud surreptitiously scratched her scalp - her hair had been finger-waved to perfection, though no one had told her how itchy the setting cream could be - and grasped for something to say.

"Do we get a prize if we reach the middle?"

as much as i dislike Newt's changed personality in Uprising there's something poetic about the fact that Newt left what makes him Newt behind and Hermann kept it, the new messines of his workspace, the kaiju toys... Hermann is closer to what makes Newt himself in Uprising than Newt is. I just like the idea that whatever is left of him in hermann after the drift might be the only thing left of real Newt at all

Tak, to brzmi jak żart, ale posłuchajcie-

Podobnie jak Rzecki kocha swoją pracę bardziej niż ktokolwiek inny tam obecny (owszem, pracując tylko w towarzystwie Skalmara nie ma zbyt dużej konkurencji, ale i tak). Robienie Kraboburgerów jest sensem jego życia!!

Wierzy, że Pan Krab wie co robi i na pewno ma jakiś misterny plan na ogarnięcie wszystkiego, nawet jeżeli cały wszechświat daje mu do zrozumienia, że raczej tak nie jest. Chyba widzicie, że to jest to samo co Ignacy ma ze Stachem.

Jest największym fanem Syrenmana i Skorupina mimo iż ci superbohaterowie swoje najlepsze lata ewidentnie mają daleko za sobą. Oni są dla niego tym czym Napoleon jest dla Rzeckiego.

Nie wiem, czy Spongebob miał w którymś odcinku okazję bawić się nakręcanymi zabawkami podczas ustawiania wystawy w sklepie tak jak Rzecki. Nie ulega jednak wątpliwości, że obaj mimo swojego wieku wciąż lubią robić rzeczy uznawane za "dziecinne".

Spongebob może ma ukulele zamiast gitary, ale nie zmienia to faktu, że tak jak Rzecki gra na instrumencie strunowym!

ONI OBAJ SIĘ ZAWSZE TAK BARDZO STARAJĄ A INNI TEGO NIE DOCENIAJĄ-

Nie wiem?? Może taki, że Spongebob to bardzo abstrakcyjna wizja tego jak wyglądałaby "Lalka" gdyby była napisana w całości z perspektywy Rzeckiego??

Topsy flattered herself in thinking that she was perceptive. It was true: she did typically pick up on attitudes otherwise hidden by cannier conversational partners, especially if those attitudes shared her blood. There was something about the downward tilt to Prudence's mouth, the flicker of uncertainty in her eyes, that stirred Topsy's dusty maternal instincts. But the trouble with being perceptive was that she never knew when to deploy an interrogation. And her niece looked far too weary to withstand questioning, even a light round.

Then a gleam entered Prudence's eye, and Topsy regarded her with newfound interest.

"Thus spake Zarathustra," Topsy remarked, a smile tugging the corner of her mouth. "I've certainly no objection, and goodness knows your father won't notice." She studied her niece even closer, her narrowed eyes skipping over Prudence's wan face.

"Politics," Topsy continued carefully, "can be a good distraction; it is also a jealous lover. Your temperament would suit such a cause... But darling, might I enquire as to why?" There was a joke to be made about Prudence being a secret little communist, but Topsy restrained herself.

"Oh yes, I'm fine," Prudence replied with a small smile. Physically, anyway. Her head was spinning constantly since the chauffeur's arrival and it did occasionally force her to grasp a wall or lean on her cane more than usual. But fine was subjective and she hated to make someone else worry as much as she did.

She pulled out a chair to have a seat. "I wanted to ask you what exactly you're...doing. What you're writing." She felt a bit childish, but she admired Topsy and her work she spoke about at dinner. Her eyes scanned the papers her aunt was piecing together.

"I think I'd like to help," she finally announced. She had thought about it for a long time, but her aunt was passionate, and the dinner discussions always lead to some good riveting debates, and that was certainly a case Prudence could get behind.
