I’m sorry this is a ramble but this thought plagues me and I just can’t write so . Spare me my agony here; older stalker Konig.
He sees you at work, some pretty young thing at a seedy diner or bar, barely old enough to be employed there at all. Too young to be working, you’re something he thinks should be housed away and pampered like some dumb pet, so silly of you to not settle down already. Low hanging fruit is what he takes you for, with how naive and innocent you seem; no concept of the world, of seedy men like himself with too much time and money on his hands, his red flags too visible to anyone who knows what to look for. And you poor, poor thing have no clue what he’s like, his faux charm and large tips and solid build blinding you of his true intentions.
He watches, becomes a regular, gets to know you and make small talk and leave fat tips and cheesy compliments that make you giddy and flustered despite the odd air he has about him or the way your coworkers whisper that he’s no good. Eventually his regular appearances turn into him staying til close, then offering to walk you home his possessive streak covered up by vigilant protectiveness that leaves you dizzy with his little touches to your arm or the small of your back, the nearly parental way he kisses your forehead at your door.
Little did you know he’s been planning the whole time; memorizing your work schedules, your daily schedule, the things you eat or drink, places you go on your days off, watching you through your apartment window or sneaking in when you’re out of the house to raid your dirty laundry or leave a gross surprise of his cum in your leftovers. He’s a shadow in your life, always lurking in the background of every scene no matter where you are or what you’re doing. Eventually he’s sneaking in when you’re asleep, so silent for such a behemoth of a man, so he can paw at your soft and prone form while he pants and spills into his hand like a dog in rut while you’re none-the-wiser, unaware of the way he smears his soiled hand on your skin, your cunt, your pillow or sheets.
When he finally takes things further, too determined to do anything but hoard you all to himself, he’s so sweetly condescending as he relays just how long he had planned everything, how cute and stupid you were to never realize what he had been doing all this time, the bits of himself he left around your apartment, on you, inside of you as a precursor to him claiming you fully. You’ve already consumed so much of his seed, you’ll be fine taking it from the source like a good girl Schatz, nicht? Sure his cock is big, but he knows the best ways to stretch your tight hole already, so you’ll be fine! Just stop thinking and let him have you already, he’s worked so hard for you, your the center of his world. His stupid little Liebling, pathetic and confused as she struggles against her bindings and his hands, no choices left but to plead until her voice dies and give herself over to him, because nothing could convince him to accept no as the answer.
anon, my jaw is on the floor, i absolutely adore older stalker-könig and his creepiness. (╥﹏╥)
CW: RAPE/NON-CON, AGE GAP, STALKING. 🪦🕊️
DEAD DOVE: DO NOT EAT. 18+
my brain rots at the thought of könig sliding inside for the first time, holding your wrists down beside your head as he begins rocking gently. the way he cocks his head to the side almost mocking you, taunting you for being so easy, so pliant, and so vulnerable and naïve around him. the faux sympathy and empathy leaves you longing for his sweet praise, but when you're slapped for falling for the mask he puts on, you sob harder with his slicken cock hammering against your cervix, stuffed inside that inexperienced cunt. it's as if you wanted this to happen, to be used and controlled as if you were a puppet, with your inappropriate and flirty comments after each cheesy, overly sweet compliment he gives you, unaware of his seriousness, how this was a part of his plan to reduce you to a mutt, with your purpose being to serve a man, könig.
he hides himself so well, and you take the bait, falling for the façade of a gentle, older male with sweet intentions. looking back, you can only let out pitiful and pained cries as you connect the dots and realise your stupidity, finally realising what you fell for, how stupid you must look on your back begging for him to stop when he'd given you so many hints and chances to flee, your voice becoming quiet and strained as you plead. the rough texture of his old, scarred skin over your mouth to silence you, against your soft and supple skin, your body shaking with each thrust, showing you what you're worth, what your purpose truly is.
könig shows you what reality is, getting you out of your stupid head, that's doing you no good as he continues with his violation and assault. he teaches you that life isn't fantasy, how you don't know everyone and their intentions or who they truly are, or how you'll fall for it and become a wolf's prey within seconds due to your kindness and naivety, how you never accuse anyone and hope they mean well, too naïve for your own good and assuming the best about everyone. leading you to be forced to take every inch of the man's experienced, hung cock, with your eyes glistening and horrified, and the smell of him on your bedsheets reminding you, or the cum stains along your shirts and panties.
or, perhaps the bruises and marks he leaves along your skin as a warning, or maybe as a sign of ownership - who you belong to, who owns you.
how could you be so foolish? :(

timeskip zero crew + written bios below !
with the sv cycle coming to an end, i’d thought i’d share my timeskip zero crew designs! friendship and the impact it can have on an individual has always been a key feature of pokemon - with sv easily executing that theme the best. zero crew has an extremely special place in my heart and think i speak for everyone when i say i'm gonna miss this group a lot ♥︎
˗ˋˏ ♡ ˎˊ˗
Tumblr media
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
JULIANA
♡ Originally from a small island in the North Paldean Sea. Homeschooled until her family moved to mainland Paldea where she started her public education at Uva Academy.
♡ Socially awkward, clumsy and struggles with organisation. Not the best with words but a fantasic listener. Booksmart and tends to be a people pleaser to a fault.
♡ Despite her awkwardness, is obliviously confident. Confessed her feelings and asked Arven to be her boyfriend after Area Zero, believing it was just a one way crush. Definitely was not and have been dating since.
♡ Was extremely overwhelmed starting school with no clue what direction she wanted her live to go in. After the events of Area Zero and collecting Herba Mystica, realised she wanted to become a pharmaceutical scientist with the goal of making Herba Mystica more wildly available in a medicinal format for people and their pokémon. Cites Director Clavell and Jacq as her biggest inspirations.
♡ Still considers Carmine, Kieran and the former BB League members some of her closest friends. The groups enjoy traveling together between Paldea, Kitakami and Unova together.
♡ Enjoys beers, fried food, karaoke & visiting the night markets in Porto Marinada.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
NEMONA
♡ Graduated with distinctions in all classes but dreams of making a name for herself outside her wealthy family. Currently works fulltime at Uva Acadmeny as a battle studies teacher with the end goal of becoming Champion.
♡ Lives in a high rise apartment in the center of Mesagoza overlooking the battle court. Absolutely loves the lively and fast paced energy of the city.
♡ Despite being extremely outgoing, struggles with making and maintaining friendships. Holds Juliana extremely close to her heart as she believes she was the first person to ever really 'get her'. First came out to Juliana after the groups adventure to Area Zero. Currently crushing on Carmine.
♡ Often mistaken for being a 'tomboy' but has quite alot of interest in typically 'feminine' things but has trouble connecting and expressing this part of her. Particularly likes plushies, collecting perfume and playing piano in which she is extremely gifted.
♡ Detail oriented and enjoys organisation. Wakes up at 5:30 every morning and runs from Mesagoza to Levincia no matter what she did the previous night.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
ARVEN
♡ Only child of the late Professor Turo. Originally withdrawn and standoffish; after learning of his fathers passing, became extremely family & friend focused. Would love to have his own family in the future. Considers Clavell a second father.
♡ Originally specialised in traditional savoury Paldean dishes but developed a love for baking after making Juliana macarons for their first Valentines Day together.
♡ After graduation, worked as a dish hand in a small bar in Porto Marinada. Worked his way up to line cook while occasionally doing pokémon walking and sitting on the side. Currently the manager of the new Mesagoza Patisserie Soapberry location. Spends his income on renovating the lighthouse where he lives with Juliana, Mabosstiff and Miraidon.
♡ Prized possessions include his fathers old lab coat and journals recovered from the Zero Lab. Gifted an oddly familar version of the presumably lost Violet Book by Juliana after her return from stuyding at Blueberry Academy which he keeps in his nightstand.
♡ Due to his unique upbringing and feelings of isolation; is very protective and easily jealous in both platonic and romantic relationships.
⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂⠁⠁⠂⠄⠄⠂ ⠂⠄⠄⠂☆
PENNY
♡ Originally from Hulbury, Galar. Daughter of former Galar champion, Peony. Currently lives in an old industrial loft with Atticus and Giacamo in downtown Mesagoza. Loves city life but misses the small beachtown vibes of her hometown. While developing a closer relationship with her dad after gradution, has no intentions of moving back home to Galar.
♡ Prefers to keep her circle small but cares deeply for her friends to a point of getting herself in bad situations to help them. Still learning how to put herself first in certain sitations with help and advice from Arven.
♡ Works full time for the Pokémon League doing admin work. Does occasional hairdressing on the side mostly for friends and mutuals. Specialises in bleaching and alternative cuts and colours. Originally a brunette - wouldn’t be caught dead with grown out roots.
♡ Has a terrible diet consisting mostly of cup ramen, sushi and whatever the cheapest energy drink is. Sleeps around 4 hours each night after spending her after work hours gaming online with Kieran; excluding Wednesdays where she plays Magic the Gathering with Team Star.
♡ Homebody who loves reading + collecting manga and crafts; particularly sewing and knitting after being taught by Attitcus.

I finally have a minute to sit down so I'm going to yell about the Lord of the Rings musical for a bit! I'll put everything under a cut so people can avoid spoilers! Pic of me in my cute hobbit-ish outfit first 😊
Tumblr media
So disclaimer first, hopefully I'm remembering everything correctly but I recently started a new job and can't take any days off in my first 90 days but desperately wanted to see this show. So I worked a night shift, drove 6 hours, and by the time everything was over I'd been awake for ~21 hours. And also everyone who knows anything about this show is long. Like we were sitting in act 2 and I couldn't remember if they'd sang The Road Goes On in act 1 because it had been two hours ago by that point 😂All this to say, if I misremember please forgive me and feel free to correct me!
My friend and I had the most amazing seats for this show! I'd been debating whether or not I wanted to go through the trouble of going to see it with work and all but then I got an email because apparently I'd signed up for the Shakespeare Theatre's 30 under 30 program and that made everything worth it. I'll post a picture below but we sat second row in the center section on the end of the stage right side. In the picture you can see the stairs literally came down about six inches in front of my feet. I'm not usually a fan of sitting so close but with how immersive the show was it was perfect.
Tumblr media
(Obligatory photo with the playbill because I will always be a theatre nerd at heart)
Starting at ~15 til, the actors all started coming out and wandering the audience, just talking to people and having a good ol' time. Again I'm such a sucker for immersive performances and despite being terribly awkward this was still very exciting.
With everyone wandering around and then the show just sort of starting with no big to-do, it really felt like you're a part of the story. Like 'oh I really am here at Bilbo's birthday party.' Again just a really good time, I think it added another really great layer to the show.
I know I just keep saying how fun this show looked but honestly it looks like such a great time and like every single actor on stage is having the best time. The choreography isn't anything terribly complicated but it just looks fun. Also we saw this on a Wednesday at the evening performance which means there would've been a matinee earlier and you never would've been able to tell. I've seen shows where you can tell the actors are going through it during their second show of the day(and rightfully so) but I wouldn't have had a clue if I hadn't known the schedule. Really just such an amazing cast.
The puppetry was phenomenal! I'm not typically freaked out by puppetry but I had a visceral reaction to those Nazgul puppets. Don't know what it was about them but I was legitimately unnerved. One came up next to me and I did not care for it at all. Pretty sure the people behind me were chuckling every time I cringed but like honestly so fair 😂
So I only found out about the existence of this musical in June and it was absolutely my accident. After seeing the trilogy in theaters, I fell back in hard and was just like 'huh I wonder if there's a stage version of this if not there should be' and googled it on a whim. Pretty much been listening to the London soundtrack on repeat since then but there were a lot of songs that I felt very eh about on the soundtrack that are loads better within the context of the show. Like a lot of the Elvish acapella songs being actually just background to the action that happened onstage felt a lot more natural than listening to them on their own.
Speaking of songs I liked more, Lament for Moria was absolutely beautiful. I hate to compare casts because I think every actor brings their own unique take to the role but that was just a song that I wasn't terribly fond of on the London soundtrack. But the actor that played Gimli in this version had an absolutely gorgeous voice. I was telling someone I always assume actors in a show will be able to sing because obviously they've been cast but there are still times where someone opens their mouth and I'm stunned and this was one of them.
I really enjoyed the set design a lot. I love the current trend of having a simple versatile set with smaller pieces that are wheeled on from time to time. Also, such a sucker for turntables and platforms. I don't know what it is but I think it's A+. Also the climbing wall grips in the back so Gollum could climb up and down were fantastic! Such a simple solution but I think it worked so well. I could see them since we were so close but the way they were painted, I'm guessing they blended in really well further back and the effect would've been amazing.
Obviously even at nearly 3 hours long this is still a wildly condensed version of these stories but I was still disappointed that almost all of Two Towers was cut out other than Treebeard. This of course isn't unique to this production, just the way it's written. I don't think it necessarily detracted from the story since most of the action and important bits do take place in Fellowship and Return of the King but Two Towers is still my favorite so this is a personal gripe mostly haha.
The costumes were all great, a lot of it felt sort of generic fantasy-ish but I love generic fantasy-ish costumes so I was happy. However, I thought the orcs costumes were so cool! Especially with the new(? I'll be honest with y'all I have not read the books(yet) and I feel like I heard about this being the ending somewhere. Not sure if they changed it for the movies and the ending of the musical is the actual ending? anyway) ending they were very neat!
I'm also such a sucker for instruments being played onstage especially when it's the actors doing it and especially when a lot of them are playing multiple different instruments. I just will never get over the talent.
I think I've said most of what I wanted to say so I have to talk about Now and For Always. Since my first listen, Now and For Always was my absolute favorite song. Like hyperfixated listening for hours on end kind of favorite song. I just think it's so beautiful, the harmonies are gorgeous, and it really embodies what these stories were about. I saw the snippet Chicago Shakespeare posted before I went and I was iffy about if I'd like it. I could not have been more wrong. The way it was so slowed down, having the rest of the cast standing around Sam and Frodo, the delivery of the last verse from Frodo to a sleeping Sam? I'm tearing up just thinking about it again. Like that's what it's all about, you know? The tenderness and kindness in the midst of horrors. The true power that friendship has to carry you through the absolute worst of things. I don't even have more words, it was just such a beautiful and touching presentation and it's going to stay with me for a very long time.
Oh no wait I did have one more thing to say, they tried to make me like Denethor and no one will ever make me like Denethor! Denethor hater for life, all my homies hate Denethor. I'm sorry, I know they used the explanation of 'he's too close too Mordor it's poisoning his mind' nope don't care. The best thing Denethor did was set himself on fire, change my mind.
All this to say, I had the most amazing time and I am forever grateful I found this production when I did and had the chance to go see it. I don't think it's for everyone, as like 'duh obviously' as it sounds I think you really have to enjoy both LotR and theatre. The people behind us were snickering from time to time because there were some things that were kind of goofy. Most of it was at the weapons, they're definitely on the cheaper side but it's a regional theatre and I'm sure they only had so much budget. You have to be able to suspend your disbelief when seeing any show but especially this one. Forget what you know from the books and the movies and just go in with an open mind. It's a spectacle, it's goofy, it's serious, it will absolutely wrench your heartstrings if you just let yourself be open to it. Everyone is obviously so passionate about what they're doing and it made for such an amazing show, highly recommend to go see it if you get the chance 💜

Get To Know Me Tag
Tagged by @telomeke @lurkingshan @my-rose-tinted-glasses @he-is-lightning-in-a-bottle and @hyeoni-comb thank you all! 💕
Do you make your bed?
I like a messy bed, it feels more welcoming to me somehow. The only time I make my bed is when I'm without heat and it's winter, then you gotta do it to keep in any residual warmth! But normally I'd rather keep everything loose.
What’s your favorite number?
I....don't think I have one? Is this a thing people have, how do you choose?
What is your job?
I manage a team of Product Owners in the Operations division of a multinational company. In other words, I go to a lot of meetings.
If you could go back to school, would you?
Absolutely not. Beyond the fact that I was formerly a substantive editor of university textbooks, which included both editing the textbook content and sometimes writing their ancillaries (tests, powerpoint slides, etc.) so it feels like I took first-year Sociology at least ten times, I just don't love formalized education. I love learning but on my own terms and at my own pace.
Can you parallel park?
I can't drive at all! Technically I learned how, took lessons and everything, but never got my license.
A job you had that would surprise people?
Hmm. I was a call center person for half a day, it was terrible and I left without getting paid for the work I did because I was so eager to get out of there I didn't want to fight them for my pay (even though I needed the money which is why I was there in the first place). I hate phone calls, I can't hear well on the phone, and it was clear the call center script was designed to be exploitative. It was one of the worst jobs for me I could have taken lol
Do you think aliens are real?
I think it's extremely likely!
Can you drive a manual car?
Nope, even when I learned, it was only on an automatic.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
I'm not guilty about it but I can decimate an entire family size mac and cheese when I'm feeling down.
Tattoos?
I have 3 tattoos; one on each foot and one on the back of my neck. They form a rainbow.
Favorite color?
Blue-green! The shade of preference for any given moment varies, but anything in the region from mint to aqua to teal to turquoise will do; I love them all.
Favorite type of music?
My music taste varies widely but the common denominators are 1) fast tempo or upbeat, 2) solid harmonies, and 3) if there's a tempo or key change I am doubly sold.
Do you like puzzles?
Love puzzles of all kinds. I have a collection of jigsaw puzzles I do regularly, and word puzzles, logic puzzles, sudoku type stuff is all very fun. I don't make a lot of time for them but I do them occasionally and always enjoy it.
Any phobias?
I am afraid of falling. Not heights, but falling. The difference is: I can lean over the railing at the top of a 20-storey building or walk on a glass floor over a big drop and just feel a minor thrill, but am terrified to the point of maybe crying if I have to balance on a single step of a ladder or walk across a patch of ice. I had several brushes with death related to falling when I was a kid, and a few bad falls that caused injury as an adult, so it makes sense. Luckily I am pretty tall so I rarely have to do any kind of ladder-ing!
Favorite childhood sport?
American-style tackle football. We used to play at lunch on the pavement because the soccer kids got the field; we played in all seasons including snow, and we did it for love of the sport. I loved it a lot.
Do you talk to yourself?
Occasionally I'll provide a little commentary on what's happening aloud to myself; but I don't really have fully conversations.
What movies do you adore?
I have loved a lot of movies in my time! A few random ones that come to mind right now because I've been thinking about them for whatever reason are Saving Face (2004), Monster (2023), Practical Magic (1998), Moonlight (2016), and Clue (1985).
Coffee or tea?
Despite my username being a type of tea, in this as in all things I am a perfect Kinsey 3. Love both equally and drink a ton of both (coffee more regularly, tea in greater volume).
First thing you wanted to be growing up?
Lifeguard, I think! And then when I was in elementary school I wanted to edit textbooks (I was that kid who got annoyed whenever there were mistakes), so I did actually get to do my childhood dream job.
No pressure tags just going with vibes based on who I've interacted with recently (if you've done this already tag me in the comments!): @rocketturtle4 @visualtaehyun @sollucets @troubled-mind @jimmysea @ginnymoonbeam

Oshi No Ko Chapter 153 - My Thoughts/Analysis
This chapter was a bit of a mixed bag for me, but it’s at least an improvement over the absolute trasheap that the last chapter was. As always, spoilers for Oshi No Ko Ch 153 below.
We start off the chapter with a continuation to this interaction between Hikaru and Aqua. With how this series has been timeskipping so much recently I half expected this confrontation to also be done offscreen. Would be par for the course at this point. Let’s see how this turns out now that we’re actually getting the proper screetime for them to talk.
Hikaru is the managing director of some media company? You’d think that something like this would’ve been shown earlier in the manga when Akane was gathering info on Hikaru but it’s honestly not that relevant now that Aqua and Hikaru are face to face like this. Again—this entire Aqua-Hikaru interaction should’ve had more buildup to it but I’d be beating a dead horse if I kept expressing my displeasure about it.
It seems you’ve researched me through and through. Yeah, Aqua probably has done that for the movie—whether or not it’s completely accurate or not. Though we don’t actually get to see Aqua do much on that—he’s certainly researched Ai and her past but not so much for Hikaru. You’d think that after he knew his identity it would’ve been shown that he was sniffing for clues but oh yeah! The manga just handwaved that like so many other important factoids.
Interesting that Hikaru says that the movie was fiction despite the fact that the information in it was actually accurate. Considering he was involved in these events I’m not sure whether or not to trust his words in general. Not to mention this whole thing about the events being fabricated, exaggerated and some other bits excised from the movie itself. Whether or not it’s true—I think it’s still a fact that it’s not quite Ai and Hikaru’s story being told in the movie. Not perfectly at least. Allowing Abiko and Yoriko to change up aspects of the script clued us into that. The question remains—how accurate is all of it—is something that I hope to see before the manga ends.
Gotta have to give props to the art with Hikaru in this one panel. It’s very…what is the term? Angelic? No, illuminating. White background with his figure front and center. Trying to give off an atmosphere of cold certainty, if I had to pin an emotion to it. My only complaint is that his black star eyes aren’t very striking in this panel when we’ve seen Aqua’s black star eyes go hard in a lot of other panels.
She never loved me once. Now that’s an interesting thing to say. Especially since Hikaru himself is now the only person in the series that actually experienced the Ai-Hikaru relationship in its entirety. While the movie may have attempted to portray their relationship, it also didn’t do a perfect job at doing so, even if they may have preserved the heart of it. I’ll have more thoughts when the chapter ends since I want to see how this interaction develops.
So we’re finally getting the confirmation that Hikaru killed Ai. About time, really. Having Hikaru’s character and motives be shrouded in mystery for this long in the series made the possibility that he didn’t intend for Ai to die still plausible, though doubtful. The mechanism of Ai’s death has been suspected by Aqua for a majority of the series, so I’d be fine if they just handwave that factoid out of the picture.
This movie will get me killed socially. Here we go again with this entire bit. It’s much too expository for my tastes. Akane and Hikaru both believe that the movie will get him killed socially but really, it wouldn’t be very realistic to think that unless someone directly spills the beans to the public later down the line anyway, and even then if Hikaru was popular and influential enough the industry would let him trudge on even after the reputation hit. It’s not like the industry really cares if someone high up is a horrible person unless they make too much of a mess of things for someone to go public with that sort of thing.
THE DVDS??? For the love of all the gods and deities above I need to know what are in those DVDs. They’ve been lingering in the background for long enough and defined a large part of Aqua’s motivations throughout the movie arc for so long that it’s difficult to grasp what Aqua’s thinking half the time.
If revenge against me was what she wanted then I’ll accept it. I loved her from the bottom of my heart, after all. Huh. So that’s why he’s been fine with letting the twins run their revenge scheme like this. I’m inclined to believe him here personally—but it’s also possible that he’s letting his own Issues affect his thinking. From how he described Ai before, it could that he holds some guilt in being responsible for Ai’s death that he’s fine with the twins killing him like this if it’s what Ai wanted, though this is all just speculation.
So that’s why this meeting has been so civil. Hikaru’s wanted to talk to Aqua for awhile now, it seems. It’s still bad writing that we didn’t actually get to see them interact before this interview though. Spending a chapter to set this interview up could’ve allowed the buildup to not feel like something out of a cheap paperback. Not to mention not showing us why Aqua has white star eyes in the first place and just what caused that exactly.
Wait a second the DVDs were on the table??? And this couldn’t have been easily shown to us in the previous chapter or in the previous panels??? Please. That’s bad narrative writing right there.
If Aqua can say that so confidently to Hikaru’s face then the DVDs HAVE to talk about Ai and Hikaru somewhat. Now the true test, will Aqua give the readers that info or is that going to be offscreened?
Oh? Is this still the movie? Perhaps I need to give the manga more credit if it’s actually showing us this in some detail after the fact. Though it’s also plausible that this is just Hikaru’s flashback instead of the movie—which, is probably better than showing the movie like this anyway, but something like that would have to depend on this entire flashback pans out.
That’s why you have to shoulder the burden of living their lives from now on. Welp, sorry Kindaichi you’ve just damned this young kid to a life of horrible coping mechanisms! Joking aside this entire situation is just really capital grade fucked. Even though the man was just trying to help Hikaru get through the funeral he didn’t know just how unstable the boy was. At least Ai had Ichigo and to a lesser extent, Miyako to help her through the harshness of the industry. Hikaru didn’t have the support system that would keep him stable—and even Ai herself wasn’t exactly a paragon of stability even at her best.
Also!!! Baby Taiki! If only we could’ve seen more of him in the manga—he would’ve been a great contrast to both Aqua and Ruby but alas he’s been relegated to a side character. Another pocket of missed potential, that one.
Okay so it isn’t a flashback. Hikaru actually has two white star eyes here and that’s not a trait we’ve ever seen Aqua have. So it seems we’ll be delving into more of his backstory that wasn’t covered by the movie here and hopefully more next chapter. I also wonder if he’s actually explaining this all to Aqua or is this all just him thinking in his head right now, but we’ll see the results of this flashback soon enough.
These two pages of a younger Hikaru and Ai…it’s so bittersweet. If what Aqua’s implying is true it means that Ai loved Hikaru all along and we already know where their relationship ended up after everything.
Damn Ai. I know you have your Own Issues but it was also kind of harsh just leaving Hikaru out in the cold like that. Can’t say I blame her, but maybe this entire flashback between them will get more fleshed out next chapter to encompass Hikaru’s own reaction and how he masterminded Ai’s death.
I have a lot to say about this chapter. It’s nice that we finally got more interaction between Aqua and Hikaru where it wasn’t just Aqua yapping on about revenge. Ditto with the fact that the DVDs have finally made an appearance after being sat on for a hell of a lot of chapters by now. Though…even if the implication with these DVDs are that they explain what Ai felt for Hikaru, I wonder if that’s just all they talk about. There’s still potential for more to be dredged up by their content. Not to mention there hasn’t been much of any talk about Ai’s DVD for Ruby, but that’s also something that I wouldn’t be surprised was also offscreened considering that we didn’t see the content of the DVDs when they showed up the first time.
Then there’s also the fact that Aqua is implying that Ai loved Hikaru this whole time even after she pushed him away. I don’t quite think this reveal quite sticks the landing here. Hikaru as a character was only really revealed quite late into the series and now that we’re focusing on him these reveals about his personality and character are much too late to have any effect because either they’re all thrown at us at once or when they do give us crumbs to his disposition, they’re too obscured by the narrative for us to get a good enough grasp on him for the reader to care about him as a character and a person rather than as an antagonistic force as he was for the majority of the series.
The point I’m trying to make here is that there was nothing leading us away from the direction that Ai loved Hikaru all along to make this reveal more satisfying. We’d already known that Ai had her own Issues when it comes to intimacy and affection, not to mention being similar enough to Hikaru that they were drawn together. The movie in itself seemed to imply this factoid by showing Ai’s backstory and displaying her own Issues straight to the reader. Ai herself seemed to be on relatively good terms with Hikaru enough that she still kept in contact with him. She wouldn’t have done that if their breakup was one that ended badly enough that she didn’t want to have anything to do with Hikaru afterwards.
I think it’s also important to note here after this flashback, that assuming Hikaru is telling the truth to Aqua, that from his perspective Ai certainly never loved him all along. He wouldn’t have reacted how he did otherwise. I don’t want to spent too many brain cells on this point because I’m sure we’ll be getting more detail next chapter, but I want to touch on this point slightly.
Both Ai and Hikaru were teenagers that were heavily damaged by their own pasts and thrust into an industry that was poised to take advantage of them. They may have found some solace in each other at the time, but that was only a band-aid to help stop the bleeding caused by their respective issues. They never dealt with the root cause of what was causing their respective traumas to flare up. They just dealt with the symptoms of their own respective issues together and that was what kept them together for as long as they did. Their relationship was bound to end badly if they didn’t address their trauma in time and we all know what happens next.
The entire scene when Ai says that they shouldn’t see each other any more is only given to us partially so it’s difficult to judge just if Ai just sprung this idea to Hikaru out of the blue or if she tried to lay him down gently but from the presence of the toothbrush and what looks to be toothpaste it might just be the former. Hikaru certainly would have some grounds to stand on to think that Ai never loved him if she let him down so suddenly without sufficient explanation.
But I want to go back to how Hikaru says that Ai never loved him. Aqua seems to think differently because of these DVDs, implying that Ai actually did love him. Hikaru certainly feels that Ai never loved him, despite the fact that the narrative is pointing in the opposite direction. Whether or not Ai actually loved him is irrelevant to the matter at hand because Hikaru himself wasn’t able to recognize that love. It doesn’t matter how much love another person can give another if that person isn’t able to recognize that love for what it actually is. Hikaru was unable to see through Ai’s lies in this instance and I don’t think that’s a mark against him.
While this is a case where I don’t think both parties can be at fault here—with Ai having difficulty with communicating intimacy and Hikaru’s own trauma rearing its head—that doesn't change the result of their story. Ai was unable to communicate whether or not she loved Hikaru clearly even knowing his tragic backstory and Hikaru was unable to recognize Ai’s behavior as love even as he knew that she had her own issues. Good communication is the bedrock in any relationship and two traumatized teenagers aren’t the best at it in an ideal scenario.
This is of course, assuming that Hikaru isn’t lying straight to Aqua’s face. But I doubt it, personally. He doesn’t have any reason to lie, and he’s already admitted that he thinks that he’ll be killed socially by this movie. Aqua basically already has Hikaru dead to rights here. It appears that everything that Hikaru’s done seems to be for some sense of closure. He wants to see Aqua’s rationale in making this movie in the first place.
I do have some issues with the fact that Aqua’s revenge plot seems to have pivoted to showing Hikaru that Ai loved him all along. While, sure, I can see the throughline that the writers wanted us to follow, it seems more than a bit strange for Aqua to suddenly be satisfied with merely letting Hikaru know that Ai actually loved him when he explicitly wanted to destroy Hikaru in the most painful way he knew how before he watched these DVDs. Does he really think that explaining this all to him will break him better? Or is he putting his revenge plot aside to fulfill Ai’s last wish? Perhaps this too will be explained in a flashback?
We also see how Aqua has been planning the movie throughout the movie arc for revenge but this recontextualization of his actions because of the DVDs is executed halfheartedly. We were primed to think that the movie was made to further Aqua’s revenge scheme but during the movie arc itself Aqua changed his mind on what the movie was going to do because of the DVDs. This behavioral shift from “Aqua making this movie to take revenge on Hikaru” and “Aqua is now making this movie to fulfill Ai’s last wish” doesn’t come across clearly. We don’t get to see the different directions that the movie took within production that makes it clear that Aqua’s objective has changed at all from after he watched the DVDs.
It could also be the case that Aqua thinks that Hikaru knowing that Ai really loved him all along and he killed her will break Hikaru better, but pulling that now when the trigger of the DVDs have already been pushed is just a cheap way for the manga to have its cake and eat it too when such a direction wasn’t properly built up beforehand. Aqua at the time wasn’t able to get a grasp on Hikaru’s character as an adult so he might’ve moved on from Ai’s death completely. If Hikaru didn’t approach Aqua with this interview he might’ve never known that Ai actually loved him though this movie. What was Aqua’s plan then? Just go up to Hikaru and straight up tell him after the movie premiered?
Of course, maybe some or all of my criticisms will be addressed in the later chapters. This is the final arc where everything gets wrapped up, after all. With all the lingering threads—Yura’s murder, Nino’s involvement with Hikaru, and arguably even how Hikaru masterminded Ai’s death—still in the air, I hope that we’ll get getting some satisfactory answers alongside some chapters that don’t make me want to dip everything written on the pages in red ink.

Share (Murai Shinobu)
Alright... since you have to have a Tumblr account to even view things on Tumblr and I am relatively small in the grand scheme of things, I will take this time to share with ya'll a piece of media that means a lot to me. I do feel a bit iffy about this since it is a doujin, which are already a legal gray area. But... I just really wanna talk about it a bit.
So first of all, the cover:
Tumblr media
What is 'Share'? Share is a doujin created by one Murai Shinobu as both author and illustrator. The story starts at the time the sisters are in their reincarnated lives. However, it then jumps back to the time period of Vampire Hunter, in their first lives. From there, the story follows Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling as they are going about their travels, hunting down Darkstalkers. The story takes place seemingly not too long after they used the Igyo Tenshin No Jutsu to change themselves. It is beautiful story of how Mei-Ling is trying to cope with the major changes that have befallen her younger sister as a result of their shared desire to save their mother. Wonderful art, great composition of scenes, and some heartwarming and touching moments, I feel it is a story that any fan of the sisters should give a read. Allow me to share just a few samples from the story:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You might have noticed the English dialogue. That is because I got the story translated by a wonderful translator, Zeus. Using the translations, I then went in to localize the translation and edit in dialogue that flowed in English better and matched with the personalities of the sisters.
So why go out of my way? Because when I got this doujin, my first ever, I was taken away by the wonderful art and what I was getting from context clues. Plus, it is a story centered around my favorite characters in all of media! I cannot read Japanese at all, so I was left to wonder what Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling were saying. There is actually a very specific page that really made me want to know what was being said! However, I'll share the original version:
Tumblr media
How could you not want to know what in the world is going on here!? I certainly did and after finally learning what all was being said throughout the story, I was further enchanted. The fact is the art of the sisters done by Murai and especially this story are a major influence in the way of how I shaped Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling's personalities in Cryas Darkstalkers. Murai portrays Hsien-Ko as this very positive, cheerful individual who is willing to go forward and do what must be done. Not only that, but she also dearly loves her big sister and will absolutely do what she can to protect her from harm. However, she also does recognize that she has changed and is not human anymore in body. She isn't blissfully ignorant of that and is totally fine with the fact she is a jiangshi, even recognizing some of the perks to being one. Despite that, Hsien-Ko still believes she is still that same person she was before she changed. Mei-Ling is portrayed as a calm and thoughtful woman, if a bit too concerned. She plans out their travels, engages in affairs with humans, and is there to watch over and aid Hsien-Ko in any way she can. She still views Hsien-Ko as her sister, but is overtime concerned about the changes that have come over Hsien-Ko. In essence, concerned about the loss of Hsien-Ko's humanity and if this would overall change her from the sister she grew up with. It is some gripping stuff that tugs at my heartstrings and I love it! 😭💙💛
Now you may be saying, "Aura, this story sounds awesome! Can I purchase this awesome doujin and see things for myself!?'' Sadly, no. Since I last checked on Murai's BOOTH store, the doujin is out of stock. In fact, I am willing to bet a bit of money that I managed to purchase the last physical copy of Share. Maybe it was fate for this to happen? Who knows, but it happened.
I can possibly hear you shouting, "Aura, if this is out of stock, how can I read this awesome story!? HOW!?" Well, the answer lies in a Google Drive I have. So, while I tend to only do this for big fans of the sisters I find and friends, I'll give ya'll a chance to read this for yourself. I would ask that you do not go about uploading this stuff to any sites on the internet. Just please, share the drive with others if you wish to show others.
If you do read the story, please let me know what you think of it as I'd love to hear!
And Murai: if you somehow come across this and are not comfortable with the images shared and Google Drive link, I will absolutely be willing to take down the images and delete the link if you request so. While I would love others, especially English fans of Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling, to read this wonderful story, it is still your doujin and I will respect your wishes. 🙇

Can you make Saitama and Reigen comparison as mentor figures? I find it interesting how One has teacher-student pair and their dynamics in center of both of his main stories. Maybe trow in Mob and Genos comparison as students.
Merry Christmas my dude!
I am sorry this has taken so many months to write. It's a great ask and I sat down many a time to draft it and kept getting interrupted. Now that I've caught up with the last of Mob Psycho 100 anime (sob), I may as well put down my thoughts before I get distracted yet again.
I think the single greatest similarity between Reigen and Saitama as mentors is that each feels hopelessly inadequate to the task of actually mentoring his trusting charge. The reasons differ, of course: Reigen has absolutely no clue what a psychic's experiences are like, and Saitama's internal consternation at what he could possibly tell a cyborg, given that muscle training was all he knew is one for the ages.
It's interesting that each decided to go for general principles rather than specific advice. However, their approaches differ so much in that: for much of the story, Reigen pretended to be more worldly-wise and full of powers beyond what even Mob could sense. Saitama, although he has lied to Genos on occasion, has been much more straightforward about what he knows. The adoration they receive despite (or maybe because) of their non-specific advice has been quite something. With the benefit of a complete story, we've watched how Mob's view of Reigen has matured and become more clear-eyed without his ever losing respect for his mentor. It's still very much a work in progress when it comes to Genos, where some searing clarity is admixed with some of the most extreme hero-worship depicted in fiction. No idea how that's going to resolve, nor the unacknowledged sexual tension between them (something rightly not present in Mob Psycho 100).
I like that in their own ways, both would do anything for their mentees when things go wrong in a major way... but aren't quite so scrupulous on the small stuff.
Given who their mentees are, it's remarkable that each has emphasised normality. Reigen always told Mob to regard psychic powers as just an aspect of who he was, no different from some people being characterized by being tall or having strong body odour. It's been helpful to Mob in putting into perspective what his powers could and could not do for him. And it has been great that Reigen was instrumental in helping Mob understand and accept all of himself. Saitama's precondition for Genos was that the latter get a job already.
The very different goals Reigen and Saitama have colour what advice they give. Reigen's goal for Mob has been in keeping with his philosophy. He doesn't actually have to do any particular job as his parents aren't badly off, so Spirits and Such has been his way of finding something interesting to do. He may con people, but he always aims to leave them better off. Mob is no different in this regard. Even as trouble comes their way, Reigen has always been mindful of Mob's psychological well-being. Saitama is a hero: it's literally what he lives for and his disciple had better be one too. The percepts he outlines for Genos are murderous in their uncompromising stance: a hero must always make progress, regardless. Must never retreat. Must never refuse to take on an enemy, no matter how dire.
As for student-teacher relationships more widely, ONE writes quite a few of them. I've explored them somewhat in these two meta, if you've not already seen them. Sensei! and Sensei, pt 2. I will probably do a third at some point.

One
Pairing: Miguel O'Hara x Reader
Summary: Just a short piece based on the prompt ^above^.
"So, what do you know about Miguel O'Hara exactly?"
Your eyes moved over the grainy photo in your hand, narrowing as they landed on the darkened figure at the center.
"Do you want me to be honest with you?"
Looking up, your eyes met Jess' tired expression, and her head tipped to the side. She took your silence for an answer and the corner of her mouth turned down.
"Not much." She opened the file resting on her desk and produced a stiff piece of paper. Another photo. "This is all we have, and I had to nearly take apart the filing cabinet to get it."
She slid the photo across her desk to you. "Nobody at the station is on this case and nobody in the streets will talk."
You hummed in response as you picked up the new photo in front of you. As soon as your gaze fell on the image, your eyebrows shot up.
"His eyes are red?"
"Mmhm. It's not a lighting mistake either. One of the few things we actually know about him."
You studied the face staring back at you, all hard lines and an arrogant curve to the mouth. So, this was the man connected to your sister's disappearance? Made sense, really. Gwen had never been the most discerning.
"What are you thinking?"
What were you thinking? Miguel O'Hara was a wraith. That man lived in the shadows and not a single person so far has been able to get more than a name and some blurry images. Not even Jess and she was the best Detective on the force.
But your little sister was gone, disappeared one night without so much as a clue of where or why she'd gone. Your only hint was his untimely appearance and the strange occurrences linked to it. It was paper thin reasoning, but it was all you had.
"I want to go after him."
"Absolutely not."
Your fingers tightened on the photo as you looked at her with pleading eyes. "Please, Jess?"
"No."
"We've done it before. We-"
"No, stop." She sighed heavily, her old office chair creaking as she leaned back with her arms folded over her chest.
"Listen, I know you want your foster sister back, but we just don't have enough information."
"We can get info." You leaned down and rummaged through the bag at your feet, fishing out your worn notebook and a pen.
You heard her sigh again as you flipped through the pages filled with your messy scrawl.
"What are you doing?" She asked.
Her tone told you that she wasn't really interested in your answer, but despite that you continued flipping until you reached a blank page.
You glanced up at her. "Jack Marron? Remember him?"
"And?"
"He came into the clinic right after you told me about your case. I got him talking and he gave me information you needed. Nailing him was what got you that massive lead on Kingpin."
"I realize that, but-"
"And that time I wore the wire for you and played waitress at that Italian restaurant while you listened in."
"That was different."
"Different how? We're a team, Jess. And a damn good one at that."
"No, you're a civilian and I should have known better than to get you involved in my work."
The two of you sat in tense silence for what felt like ages, the only sound in her cramped office was the dull humming of the florescent lights overhead. She looked at you like she was studying a file. Her dark eyes traveled over your face as she thought, and you waited.
She was right. You were the civilian and she was the detective. This Miguel O'Hara case was new, important, and so far, full of holes. If you were being honest, you had no business anywhere near this thing.
You'd met Jess a few years back when she was just a beat cop, and you were the concerned older sister that came down to the station to collect your younger siblings once she'd pulled them off the street. You'd come to trust her when, more than once, she'd let your rowdy family off the hook with just warnings. Now she was a detective with important cases and subordinates; you, well, you were still just a concerned older sister.
Your uncanny ability to find yourself in the wrong place at the right time had been useful to Jess on a couple occasions, you'd even proven to be a natural at getting crooks to open up to you. But even with all of that, you weren't a cop. You had no authority, no clearance, and no training.
There was also the elephant in the room. A point that Jess was very much aware of but was sparing your feeling by not saying out loud. Gwen was a troubled kid and sometimes troubled kids just went missing. You had no proof that this guy had anything to do with your sister's disappearance, just a nagging feeling in your gut that wouldn't go away.
She was your only in and the only person even remotely capable of helping you out with this situation. So, you sat, eyes trained on Jess, as you waited for her to say something.
She exhaled slowly, eyes closed as she gave her head a little shake. "I don't know what you expect me to do here."
The look she gave you after that was tired and conflicted. "We can't even pin this guy down when we have the entire unit on alert. I'm just one person and I'm not going to let you get yourself caught up in something I know you can't handle."
You sat back in your chair, deflated. "I'm not asking for a ride along, Jess. Just tell me what you know when you hear something new. I can do the rest on my own."
"See, that's what you're not getting. You shouldn't be doing anything, alone or otherwise." She began gathering all of the documents on the desk. "I understand that you want to find Gwen, but we have to do it by the book this time."
She paused, making a face as she realized her slip up. " I have to do it by the book. Myself." She held out her hand, looking pointedly at the photo you still held in yours.
You took one last look at the picture of Miguel O'Hara and his piercing red eyes before placing it in her waiting hand.
"Thank you." She closed the file with a snap and stood up from her desk. You could tell that she was trying to avoid meeting your eyes as she milled around the small space, gathering her things.
"Don't look at me like that." You heard her mutter when her back was to you. Her shoulders rose and fell as she sighed. "I want to help you."
She turned around and sat her bag on the desk with a thud. "And I want to find Gwen just as much as you do."
"Why do I get the sense that there's a 'but' coming?"
"Because there is. Listen, you and I get along-"
"We're friends," you amended.
"That doesn't change the fact that this is above your pay grade. Hell, it may even be above mine. I'm already breaking rules letting you see those documents." She shrugged on her jacket and took a step toward the closed door. "As your friend, I'm asking you to take a step back from this. Like, many steps back. I'll keep an eye out for you. If anything about Gwen turns up, you'll be the first to know, okay?"
Jess opened the door to her office and nodded toward the hall. "Let's get out of here. It's been a long day and we both need to go home."
Tumblr media
"She lied to me!"
You stared, incredulous, at the glowing screen of your computer.
'Miguel O'Hara is a geneticist at Alchemax Research Labs, leading a team in the further studies of complex DNA splicing and sequencing'.
It was the first thing that popped up when you'd typed his name into Google's search engine. It took you all of two seconds to find that out, and here you'd been led to believe that this was the most elusive man on the planet. There was an address, for cryin' out loud!
You clicked through a few of the pages on Alchemax's website. It detailed all of his boring research and academic papers. He had a social media account, but to be fair, it was pretty much inactive. At most, he was uninteresting, but he clearly wasn't hard to find.
Why would Jess keep this from you? Surely she knew about this if you of all people were able to find it. Maybe she was trying to keep you from harassing some random man at his job, but he wasn't just some random man. The cops have a file on him, he's been spotted at crime scenes. He was obviously involved in something.
You snapped your laptop closed and were plunged into the quiet darkness of your bedroom. The clock on your bedside table read nine o'clock. Not too late, especially by New York standards. You decided to pay him a visit.
You didn't have much of a plan, really, as you pulled on a raincoat and a pair of shoes. Alchemax was a short train ride, one neighborhood over. You thought about what you would say to him as you exited the station and began walking down the wet sidewalk. Maybe they wouldn't even let you in. From the pictures online, Alchemax looked like the type of place that had good security.
Very good security, you thought with dismay as you stared at the towering building from your spot across the street. It was late fall and raining; you couldn't stay out here long. You were already shivering in your soaked coat.
"Damnit," you whispered, shifting from one foot to the other. People were walking behind you and you'd been jostled more than once. You couldn't keep hesitating, or you'd lose your nerve and anger some New Yorkers in the process.
With a quick glance at traffic, you darted across the street and stopped at the foot of the steps leading up to Alchemax's glass doors.
You paused. What were you meant to do? What were you meant to say? You thought about Jessica's stern face and how she'd chastise you for even thinking of doing something so stupid on a whim.
You took one step and then another and another, all the way down the street until you'd rounded the corner.
There was a little pizza place just down the street from Alchemax. You sulked over a slice of pepperoni stuffed crust, wondering just how you'd devolved into a stalker that lurked outside of workplaces in the course of an evening. It wasn't like you, and there wasn't much you could do for Gwen from the inside of a cell.
That's what mattered, helping Gwen. Part of you felt responsible for her leaving. You were her older sister, you weren't supposed to just protect her, but try to understand her too. Maybe you were too hard on her. Maybe you'd driven her away, and now she was god knows where, with god knows who.
And what was the likelihood that this Miguel guy had anything to do with Gwen at all? He was a boring scientist. Sure, Gwen liked math and physics, but you seriously doubted she'd have any reason to be around him.
But then you remembered that photo that Jess had shown you in her office. The striking red eyes and the hard lines of his face. Something wasn't making sense, and you couldn't figure out what it was.
Below you, the ground began to rumble. You frowned and reached a hand out to steady your trembling glass of soda. Strange. This city isn't exactly known for its earthquakes.
The silence before the ceiling caved in was deafening. You were running and then you were falling. Then you were flying? And then you were falling again. You felt pain all over and the air around you was hot and smothering.
You blinked until the world around you came into view, hazy and cluttered with destruction. There was fire and smoke. The sky was visible through the gaping hole in the roof, and the roof was a lot further away than it should have been. Did the floor cave in too?
And you were in pain, so much pain. You were on your back and your face was being pelted with rainwater from above. You tried to move, tried to roll onto your side, but a sharp pain in your back kept you stuck in place.
You groaned and your lungs burned, squeezing violently in your chest. Maybe it was from the smoke or some injury, probably both. You could feel your legs and your arms, but you couldn't even begin to move them. Everything hurt and burned, and you could do nothing but lie there.
There were sounds of falling rubble and settling foundations. Somewhere off in the distance there was the whine of sirens and... voices? Were there other people in the pizza shop with you? You couldn't remember. Or maybe they fell in from the street? That was a horrifying thought.
You couldn't make out what they were saying and straining to hear was making your head spin. Above you, there was an alarming crackling and grinding sound. This place was unstable and staying here was becoming an increasingly worse idea.
You grit your teeth and strained until you were able to roll over onto your front. Pain rocketed through your body, and you made an agonized sound that sent you into a fit of coughs.
Weakly lifting your head, you saw swells of flames crisscrossing all over the floor. There were massive piles of rubble creating barriers that you had no way of getting around.
There wasn't a clear way out, but you couldn't just stay here, wouldn't just die here. There was ringing in your ears as you crawled forward at an excruciating pace. Your own breathing was thin and sounded far away. Next to you, the fire was so close you could feel it, hot and angry, through your dirty clothes. You could barely see, smoke mixed with fog from the rain made navigating nearly impossible. But still you pushed forward.
Then there was a heavy pressure on your back, pinning you in place. You moaned in pain, too weak to push off whatever debris had landed on you from the wreckage above.
"You are not who I expected to see here tonight."
A solid push to your side sent you rolling onto your back. You wheezed and groaned as pain coursed through your limbs. Spots swam in your vision as the figure looming over you slowly came into focus.
There he was, eyes so red they were glowing. He crouched over you so that your vision was filled with nothing but his broad frame. His expression was impassive. You had no idea what he was thinking, no idea what he was planning.
And you were completely at his mercy.
He leaned in, his head tilting to the side as he continued to stare at you with those eyes. Your heart was pounding in your chest, and you were scared that you would black out at any second.
His large hand came to rest on the side of your face in a move that was almost tender. "Caught in my web," he murmured.
He looked at you for a second longer before sighing and standing to his full height, the night sky and destruction a terrifying backdrop behind him.
"Not how I wanted this to go," you heard him say to no one in particular.
He looked back down at you, and as he opened his mouth to speak, you noticed, with horror, a set of fangs.
"This may hurt a little."

The sidekick can feel a horrible, high pitched ringing in their ears. Fire and flame lick at their skin, charred and dirty with thick smoke. They can barely manage a hoarse wheeze, before something hard presses down on their back.
“I was hoping to catch Hero,” the supervillain murmured under their breath, and the sidekick’s throat closed up under those intense eyes. “But I suppose you’ll do.”

'Over the years, Christopher Nolan has proved to be one of the best directors in the industry. Considered a master of complex narratives and grand set pieces, it is said that even the worst Nolan movies are better than most other flicks. The usage of practical effects and reliance on films instead of digital video are some of the attributes that make the director a God of cinema.
Christopher Nolan’s filmmaking style is very distinct from most other filmmakers of this era. Despite his stories consisting of high-level concepts, there’s a grounded approach and a certain old-school style in his works that make Nolan an absolute fan favorite. Having several blockbusters under his collar, the Oppenheimer director is both critically and commercially acclaimed.
As the maestro is celebrating his 53rd Happy Birthday today, we present to you all of Christopher Nolan’s movies ranked from worst to best.
12. Following (1998)
Following is renowned for being the directorial debut of one of the greatest. Christopher Nolan‘s first movie was made on a strictly tight budget and saw the filmmaker doing most of the work in the movie. It centers around the story of a young writer following random strangers in London until he himself gets followed by a stranger. Several production hurdles accompanied by a massively low budget took the movie a solid 1 year to complete.
Although the movie showed marks of a legend in making who knows the art of filmmaking, it can’t be denied that it doesn’t come very near to his other phenomenal works. The way Christopher Nolan improved over the years made it difficult for this black-and-white noir flick to movies like Interstellar or The Prestige.
11. Tenet (2020)
As if Interstellar and Inception weren’t enough to play with the minds of the fans, Tenet presented itself as an unbeatable force. Despite being a visual spectacle with many scenes leaving a lasting impression, the complexity is too much. The whole concept of ‘time inversion’ was way too complicated. The sound issue persistent with most Christopher Nolan movies was frustrating at its best as most of the dialogues were difficult to figure out. The set pieces and the performances might convince the audiences to go for revisits neither the story nor the characters are memorable enough.
10. Insomnia (2002)
Insomnia starred two of the most significant Hollywood stars Al Pacino and Robin Williams in a complex psychological thriller. This movie was prominent for the filmmaker in a lot of ways. It is the only adaptation under his name based on a Norwegian movie of the same name. The film follows two detectives who are investigating the murder of a girl in the misty small town of Alaska. But the story turns more complex as one of them gets accidentally killed by the other detective.
The movie boasts some intense performances, especially by Robin Williams who shines in his character of the killer. Insomnia made it clear to many critics that Christopher Nolan could handle ensemble casts very well. But even after so much, this film also gets stuck in the vicious cycle of Nolan’s filmography that only gets better with each movie.
09. Memento (2000)
Memento was only the second movie by Christopher Nolan but already established his name in the non-linear genre. The movie earned a cult following as it showed the story of Leonard Shelby played by Guy Pearce who sets on a quest to find the killer of his wife. What complicates the situation more is his condition of anterograde amnesia which restricts him from creating new memories. He uses tattoos and photographs to remember the clues.
The storytelling is done in reverse and the movie followed both colored and black-and-white approaches intertwined with each other. Memento is still considered an absolute masterpiece by many and is also praised to be culturally and historically very significant.
08. The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
The conclusion to Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Trilogy is one of the most talked about Nolan movies but in a negative way. Even after being hailed by critics as an amazing end to the story of Christian Bale’s Batman, the audience deemed it to be quite weak. It is also to be noted that this came after the legendary The Dark Knight. This already set the bar too high for the movie to fulfill.
Still, the movie was successful in showing us a more human side of the Caped Crusader. A feeling of hopelessness as his City crumbled to wars both from external and internal fronts. The gritty and sad tone of the movie accompanied by Tom Hardy’s performance as Bane even though the character was not fleshed out properly makes it for a good watch.
07. Dunkirk (2017)
Dunkirk is often hailed by many people as one of the greatest war movies with some even calling it the best. The intense war drama was quite different from what Nolan delivered in the past. It presents the real incident of the Dunkirk evacuation during World War II. The movie showed some of the most beautiful cameras works in Cinema without any use of VFX. The emotional aspects in the movie are also commendable with some of the best performances. Dunkirk is a unique take on the genre that has been worked on several times and never fails to deliver.
06. Batman Begins (2005)
Following the horrendous performance of Batman & Robin, another reboot announcement of a movie on the savior of Gotham didn’t excite anyone much. But everyone was surprised immediately when Christopher Nolan’s take on the character was seen. The filmmaker who mastered the art of only mind-bending narratives didn’t let anybody expect what they saw.
The grounded approach with the gritty dark tone along with the electrifying performances by Christian Bale, Cillian Murphy, and the others received immense praise. The audience loved the deep messages shown in the movie. Mature audiences got to watch something different and the mature themes that are dealt with in the movie impressed them a lot. Despite the climax attracting some criticism, it was a super start to one of the best superhero trilogies ever made.
05. The Prestige (2006)
Christopher Nolan assembled superheroes of different universes as he made The Prestige with Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, and Scarlett Johansson. A tale about two rival magicians presents a very deep emotional movie that is rarely subjected to any bad review by the viewers.
Packed with some of the most amazing performances by both Jackman and Bale, the film delivers a magically superb plot. As the audience dwells deeper into the psychological space of the characters, we get to know more about their sinister thought processes. The movie provides a totally new experience with every rewatch and is one of his best.
04. Oppenheimer (2023)
The latest release by the visionary filmmaker is probably the most non-Nolan movie of his career. Oppenheimer based on the life of the Father of Atomic Bomb presents a huge star cast with some of the most prominent faces cast in the shortest of roles. Delivering the most iconic performances of Cillian Murphy and Robert Downey Jr., this movie will be known for years. The intricate detailing given to the smallest scientific details along with the story shown in three different timelines give us a memorable movie worthy of our full attention. The Trinity Test sequence stands out as a brilliant example of Christopher Nolan’s non-reliance on CGI. Some might also consider Oppenheimer this year’s best feature yet.
03. Inception (2010)
Inception made it clear to most fans that nobody can beat Nolan in storytelling. The complicated plot of the Leonardo DiCaprio movie revolved around the idea that dreams could be erased or implanted in other people’s subconscious. The story goes grand as DiCaprio’s Cobb and team played by other major actors design several layers of dreams to fulfill one last mission which can bring back the protagonist back home to his children. While the ending of the film is still a major subject of discussion among many, the extravagant set pieces to the concept of the movie and execution- every aspect was appreciated widely.
02. Interstellar (2014)
Interstellar is one of those movies that can never be forgotten and can present a different experience with each watch. The Christopher Nolan brainchild is adventurous, scientific, and complicated yet one of the most loveable, sad, and deepest movies. The main message doesn’t lie in the complex narrative or the whole confusion of time and space. Its main focus is on love and Matthew McConaughey delivered a breathtaking performance as Coop.
It can’t be praised more how Interstellar manages both the scientific aspects as well as the concept of love transcending time and space so well. Not only the scenes are considered some of the best Cinematic Visuals of all time, but the moments will also be etched in our minds forever.
01. The Dark Knight (2008)
There must be hardly anyone who doubts the presence of The Dark Knight not only on the top of Nolan’s list but any list centering on Cinema. One of those rarest superhero flicks that provide far more than the simplistic hero-villain chase, this sequel to Batman Begins is the best Superhero movie. The way it questions on several deep aspects of human morality deserves utmost praise. On top of that the menacing performance of the late Heath Ledger as the iconic Joker is one of the best antagonist portrayals ever. Thanks to Christopher Nolan, the world witnessed how a completely unconventional superhero flick can be much more than a mere project with classic cliches.

May 2021
2 months married, 13 weeks pregnant
“So do you want to tell me while you’re pouting like you did when you were five or are you going to just keep brooding?” Scott asked with a hint of a smirk in his voice, giving his brother a soft shove as they stepped out of the elevator.
“I guess I haven’t been very good company today,” Chris observed, the sound of his sneakers scraping against the hotel carpet. “I’m sorry Scott, I’m just missing home.”
Scott remembered the family group text that had popped up on his phone the day before, a picture of Nickie and that signature wide smile while she held a photo of the ultrasound. He knew that Chris felt like he was missing out and that suspicion was only confirmed while Chris shoved his hands in his pockets and kept shuffling down the hall, “You know how Nic ended up being farther along than we realized, right? She’s already thirteen weeks and it feels like I’ve barely been there for any of it.”
“I know, but at least the Morrisons and our family are all nearby,” Scott tried to find a silver lining, knowing that each and every member of the family loved Nickie so deeply and were there for anything she needed.
“Ma has been staying with her for the past week because she’s been really sick,” he noted, loving how much the pair adored each other, “It’s so cute when I call one of them and hear the other in the background.” While Chris and Nickie had spoken nearly every day since he’d left for Europe, it was mostly quick calls, centered around catching up and Nickie giving him updates on how she was feeling. So far, she’d spent most of the last three months getting sick and feeling horribly nauseous and slightly crampy. It was quite the difference from their normal calls while he was away, there were far less opportunities for pleasure and tension releases when your significant other felt like absolute shit for most of the day, and despite how much Chris tried to not feel this way or focus on it, he knew it was starting to come out as slight frustration.
“See, she’s alright and soon enough you’ll wrap and you can join Nic in Massachusetts,” Scott’s raspy voice assured him while they came to a stop in front of the two hotel room doors next to each other.
“Hey, want to watch a movie?” Chris motioned to his door.
“Nah I’m just going to head into my room. I did leave a little surprise in your room for you,” he mentioned, making Chris’ eyebrows raise in confusion and added, “Don’t be too loud though.”
Before he could ask any questions, Scott slipped into his room and closed the door behind him. Chris was so confused, not having a clue what he meant but just shrugged it off, pulling the key card out of his wallet and swiping it before pushing the heavy door open. He took a step inside, eyebrows furrowing when he heard the television on but all of his questions were taken away when he walked through the living area of the large hotel room, pausing in the door of the bedroom.
His blue eyes traveled to the bed where he saw her. His wife. His Nickie laying on the bed. Her long wild hair was messy and splayed out on the pillow, a hand behind her head and the other buried in a bag of Doritos. She was dressed in a pair of workout leggings and a long sleeve top, makeup gone from her face which only added to the casual comfortable look that he adored so much. Hearing him enter, she turned her head and when her dark brown eyes met his, that huge beaming grin shone in the room, making Chris feel weak at the knees.
“Well hi,” she said nonchalantly, her grin turning into a slight smirk as Chris stood frozen in the doorway to the bedroom of the suite.
“Nickie! Honey what the hell are you doing here?”
“Surprising you, dummy,” Nickie said as if it was obvious, sticking her thumb into her mouth to lick off the leftover dorito coating from her fingers.
“You fly all this way to come surprise me and then call me a dummy?” His left eyebrow rose while kicking his shoes off and started walking closer to the bed.
“Well if you weren’t being a dummy then I wouldn’t have called you that,” she smirked, sticking her tongue out as he climbed on the bed. “But that mustache still looks like shit, even in person!”
“How about you just let me fuckin’ kiss you, smartass,” his voice dropped, placing a hand on her cheek as his eyes flicked over her face, reacquanting himself with her. It’d only been three weeks since he’d seen her last in-person, having parted ways at the airport after the Morrison family trip to Italy at the beginning of the month. He’d flown straight from Florence to Paris, where he met the rest of the cast and crew from The Gray Man to resume their shooting schedule, and he wouldn’t be home in Massachusetts until, nearly, his birthday. It was a long five weeks to be without your wife, not to mention your newly-pregnant wife, who he’d married a mere two months ago. He didn’t know how he was going to make it through the rest of filming without seeing Nickie, but clearly she’d figured out an answer for him.
Nickie’s melodic laugh broke him out of his train of thought, giggling as she shrugged from underneath him. “Nobody’s stopping you!”
He smirked, leaning down as he kissed her slowly, his thumb rubbing back and forth on her cheek. She sighed into the kiss, her hands reaching to rest on his tense muscles, gasping lightly as he pulled back with a soft nip to her lower lip. He smiled one last time at her from up-close, rolling onto his side next to her.
Chris’ eyes dropped down to look her over, but paused when they’d reached her midsection, seeing the slight swell from where her shirt had ridden up, the tight material of the leggings showing off her stomach. His jaw dropped, his hand reaching out as he said, “Oh my god, babe you have a bump!”
She gasped, shoving his shoulder lightly while also pushing his hand off her stomach, pulling her shirt back down from where it’d ridden up. “Shut up! I do not!”
He laughed, placing his hand back on her, his thumb rubbing lightly. He propped his head up on his opposite hand, finally taking his eyes off of her bump to look back up at her. “Yes you do! Oh my god, it’s so cute. This is fuckin’ amazing!”
“Stop it, I’m not even that far along yet. I can’t have a bump!”
“Nic you’re pint sized, it’s not surprising,” he laughed before he tilted his head, looking at her seriously as he whispered, “I can’t believe how different you look.”
“Chris, you’re really not making me feel better,” Nickie muttered, rolling her eyes playfully as she reached down, moving the bag of Doritos to the nightstand.
“Oh shut up, you know I mean it in a good way. I fuckin’ love this bump,” Chris laughed, knowing he must look like an idiot with that crazy smile that’d settled on his face every time he thought about or talked to someone about this.  “God, Nic, that's our baby.”
“I know,” she smiled, her hand moving to run through his messy hair. “And I have a little surprise for you too.”
“What?”
Nickie bit her lip, playing with his hair lightly. “When I got off the plane I saw I had an email in my inbox but I wanted to wait for you to open it,” she raised her eyebrows. “If you want to open it, it’ll tell us what we’re having.” Nickie had called Chris a few weeks prior while at the doctor, explaining that they could do a blood test to look for any potential complications with the baby’s genes, but also so they could find out the baby’s gender a few weeks early. As of that appointment, they still hadn’t decided for sure if they’d wanted to find out what they were having, but the more they both thought about it, the more they wanted to know, mainly just to help them nail down a name better. They’d been floating around a few possibilities, and in fact had already picked out a name for a girl, but between Nickie’s impatient tendencies and Chris’ need to be as prepared as possible, and because he was a slight control freak, they’d decided to find out.
His jaw dropped, staring at Nickie as he felt excitement flood him, seeing the same reaction reflected in Nickie. “Are you fucking with me?”
She laughed, her eyes rolling fondly as she listened to him. “No and you better hurry up and open it because I’ve been going crazy!”
“Okay okay, where’s your phone?” He asked, picking his arm up off of Nickie’s midsection so that she could reach for it on the nightstand, unlocking her phone and handing it to Chris.
“Here,” she whispered, pulling her legs up as she sat up in the bed, biting her lip. “I already have my emails pulled up.”
“God my hands are shaking,” he laughed, finding the email from Nickie’s doctor, pausing before he clicked on it, eyes scanning through the bloodwork results until he reached the last line, holding his breath.
Nickie was silent as he read the email, holding her breath as well until she finally had to ask, “Chris, what is it? What are we having?”
“It’s…a boy,” he said, looking up at her with tears in his eyes, clearing his throat as he felt a lump settle in it. “We’re going to have a son, Nic.”
Nickie gasped, her face breaking into the widest grin he’d ever seen on her. Tears filled those chocolate brown eyes, rolling down those perfect cheeks as she threw her arms out, almost yelling with happiness, “I’m going to get a mini you!”
Tears were streaming down both of their faces while Chris pulled his wife impossibly tight against his chest. She buried her face into the crook of his neck, crying and laughing at the same time. They kept alternating between wiping their eyes, laughing, kissing and just all around buzzing. Chris had no idea when he walked to his hotel room that evening, that this would be the setting for such overwhelming joy and bursting happiness but here he was, with a completely full heart.
“I just can’t believe it,” he breathed, his large hand rubbing up and down Nickie’s small back. “This is just… I can’t… I’m just so happy.”
“Me too,” she agreed while she leaned up, pecking his cheek lightly. “But there is one thing that would make this moment better.”
“What’s that, honey?”
“Room service because I’m starving.”

could i please request the obey me ! boyfies with an s/o who is like & chubby ? they get insecure about it (like being tall + chubby) and really are body-insecure to the point it’s like super frustrating too bc they want to express themselves through their outfits but absolutely hate clothes shopping and will break down bc of the amount of people, the clothing sizes, and being upset after trying things on... thank you so much!!
The Demon Bros react to a Body-Insecure GN!MC
(Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. This is something we hear all the time to the point that it almost feels dry and cliche. But! Just know that there's NOTHING wrong with the way you look, despite all the media we see centered around the world's idea of beauty. Beauty is subjective, and not eternal. Just be you. The best 'you' you can be!)
Lucifer
Do you REALLY think an age old demon would see anything wrong with what you look like? He's constantly surrounded by beauty, anyway, in the form of demons and angels alike
Besides, Luci isn't shallow enough to base his affections for you purely on how you look, so you don't even have to question that.
But he does recognize that you don't see yourself in the same like as he does, and he's so, so patient with you. After all, he can't have the love of his life doubting their self worth. The Avatar of Pride won't be having that.
Lucifer takes the time to tell you, everyday, what you mean to him. In the quiet moments when you two are alone, he'll guide your gaze to meet his own, and starts going down the list of the things that make you beautiful.
"To think you'd be self conscious about something like this.... Do you think I'd settle for anything less than perfection? Let me remind you again why I love every inch of you, MC."
Mammon
Taking up modeling gigs means Mammon's seen just about every body type under the sun, so do you seriously think he's that worried about the way you look?
He's a little slow to read the room, so it takes him a while to realize that you're self conscious. But when he tries taking you clothes shopping one day, and sees you're on the verge of tears after trying on two outfits, he gets the clue.
NOW he's being extra as hell in showing you how much he likes you. You start waking up to texts telling you how beautiful you are (with the obligatory threat that you'd better not show his brothers), he keeps putting his arm around you in public, and when he can muster up the courage, he'll even tell you in person how good you look in the outfit you're wearing.
He even starts sending you links to websites he visits to buy clothes. There's some good ones that have a wide range of customization options, and a pretty diverse size chart! It's not so bad if it's online, right?
"Anyone who's worthy of being around THE Great Mammon is worth a million grimm, understand? I don't really get all the fuss about yer body, but... I think ya look fine the way ya are. So smile a little more, alright?"
Levi
Levi can relate when it comes to body insecurities. He's a layabout, and the only exercise he gets is when he's forced to get it. He doesn't think he's much of a looker compared to his brothers, either.
So when you tell him how you feel about the way you look, he gathers up every ounce of otaku™️ strength to tell you that there's nothing wrong with your height, or weight.
He DEFINITELY values personality over looks, and even then it's not like he finds you unattractive. Seriously, he doesn't get your worries at all. Are you sure you can see properly..? They say staring at screens too long can mess up your eyesight, so maybe he should stop forcing you to watch so much tv with him?
And guess what? Levi can sew. Go ahead and bring him the clothes you wanna wear, and he'll get em fixed up for you! Or if you want something custom made, he's got you! Leave it to the master weeb and his endless cosplay knowledge! ✨
"L-Like in anime! It's boring to see the same body types all the time and it's nice when they change it up, s-so....Uh.... Anyway, I like everything about you, okay?! Your body is fine the way it is!"
Satan
According to his nerd calculations, you have no reason to be insecure.
Jokes aside, Satan listens to your concerns and handles them gently. No two people look alike and the world is full of different body types, so who's to decide what is and isn't beautiful?
As he sees it, you're healthy and happy, and isn't that all that matters? He can't take away your anxieties about shopping, but he CAN help you find things you would like to try out. He's pretty sure he has a book that teaches a spell for altering clothes in an instant....
Satan tends to think on the logical side of things, so you can trust that he isn't just saying nice things to spare your feelings. He means every word when he tells you how perfect you are in his eyes.
"Of the billions of people on earth, do you really think anyone can say what 'beauty' is? MC, you're perfect the way you are. Should I write a book about all the wonderful things I love about you?"
Asmo
If there's anyone who can appreciate all body types, it's Asmo. What can you expect from the Avatar of Lust, who's seen all there is to see? If anything, there's more for him to love~!
And his affection for your body isn't even entirely sexual. It's all about aesthetics! He loves every dip and curve of yours, from head to toe!
He knows you find it difficult to find clothes that suit you, so he's started having your clothes tailored. You're a little confused when he randomly starts taking your measurements one day-
Later, he returns to you with all those outfits you kept staring at a little too long, all tailored to your body type. Asmo has CONNECTIONS, baby. He's gonna make sure you find everything you could possibly want. He knows how crucial it is to express yourself through what you wear!
"Didn't I tell you you'd look great in that? I'm never wrong when it comes to fashion! And MC darling, you look as stunning as always! Ooh, I just love the way this accentuates your body~!"
Beel
Beel only has food on the brain, so he's the least likely to care for appearances. He loves you for your heart, because that's what matters the most to him. And when you're happy, he's happy!
He loves the look on your face when you smile at yourself in the mirror, and he wants to see that more often. So when you express your insecurities about your body, Beel has a plan of action in mind.
He hoists you up and settles you onto his bed, first grabbing your thighs, your hips, your torso, your arms, and ends all the touching by cupping your cheeks. His hands are warm with affection, and you could already feel yourself melting into his touch.
He looks you in the eye with that deadpan expression of his, pressing a soft kiss to your temple, and a potato chip to your lips.
"No matter how you look or what you wear, you're still the same MC that I love. Every part of you is just fine, so why do you worry so much about it? I'll remind you over and over if I have to."
Belphie
Um??? That means he has more to hold?? when you guys cuddle?? You're warm, you smell nice, and he loves you. Literally where is the downside to any of that???
Belphie takes your worries with a grain of salt, but he knows how insecure you are so he doesn't brush them off. He DOES however tell you that you're worrying yourself to death.
Also, do you really think a man that sleeps all the time is going to have washboard abs? Belphie definitely has a little chub here and there under those baggy ass clothes of his.
Speaking of clothes, he thinks you should just wear whatever makes you comfortable. You're wearing those clothes for yourself, aren't you? So just wear what you like.
"There you go again, talking badly about yourself. Geez.... I guess I'll just have to hold you in my arms until you realize how silly you're being. Come here."

Albert Whesker (Resident Evil) Lol
I waaaaas going to make a scenario that was lore accurate and made sense in the context of the overall story…but then I realized that I was absolutely NOT going to spend ten hours trying to learn RE lore for a vore trade story, so if something in here isn’t lore accurate, then don’t @ me.
Also, lesson learned, never drink coffee, put on the dream speedrunning music, and then attempt to write vore ever again.
****
“Oh…you BSAA,,,” Albert shakily whispered to himself under his breath. “...if only you could know just how much I wanna screech out “FUCK YOU!” towards the heavens right now…”
Rather unfortunately for Albert at the current moment, however, for rather obvious reasons, that screech was, quite simply, not going to be happening.
Despite all their high-tech security cameras and guards and all that nonsense within the company’s possession, Albert Whesker had still somehow managed to sneak past them all, and get his way inside the BSAA main building, en route for the computer archives as such.
“Once I get into those archive rooms…and steal all that information on the Bioweapons…” he vigorously continued on to himself while barely managing to shuffle his way past a motion detector’s range. “...victory will be min-WOAH WHAT THE FUCK-”
Again, for rather obvious reasons, Albert didn’t say that last part out loud. All that had managed to come out was a startled sniff of air up the nose as a large, muscular man with short, black hair stood practically dumbfounded before him. In the moment, Albert was way too riled up to be able to tell, but that man was indeed a former ally of his, Chris Redfield. …a current member of the company…someone that would almost certainly have some sort of weapon for self-defense present on his person at the moment..
As a result, Albert didn’t even have time to consciously think before his body commenced the next step for him, reaching frantically into his pocket in order to pull out a small, ray-like device, and pointing it towards Chris’ form as such. Chris’ body, in response, was only able to reach into his own pocket in order to pull out a handgun before Albert pulled the trigger. Chris was far too preoccupied with loading his gun to really be able to notice, however, pointing the thing straight on at Albert, aiming dead center for his…shoes…?
While Chris’ brain was still rather focused on trying to figure out what the fuck was going on, Albert’s body did not even skip a beat as it swiftly bent down in order to scoop up the now shrunken Chris, stuffing the shrinking ray back into his pocket with his other hand at the same time.
By the time that Chris was all the way up to Albert’s face, he finally managed to get the picture. Of course, despite being trapped, he still had the option to scream and trigger the alarms, thus ensuring Albert’s mission failed no matter what happened to him next, but unfortunately for him, Albert was only acting on instincts at this point, and what his instincts were telling him to do right now was to get Chris the fuck out of sight.
Realizing all his pockets left Chris with a very high chance of escaping, plus they wouldn’t do anything to muffle his voice at all, Albert’s brain began rapidly cycling through options of where else he could put the tiny man, until all of a sudden, something in his brain clicked.
The poor, shrunken Chris within Albert’s grasp had no fucking clue what was going on inside Albert’s head in the moment, but per him operating on only instincts at the moment, the second the idea was brought up by the cold, hardened man’s brain, he had already decided that he needed to go through with it.
As such, though it was rather hard to tell at first due to the lack of light in the area, Albert shakily began to open up his maw as he slowly moved his fist containing the miniaturized Chris towards it, the warm, rapidly panting breath blowing billows of warm air onto the tiny man. Finally able to understand what Albert was planning to do with him upon being able to sense the gaping, cavernous maw laying before him, Chris’ body instantly froze up, making contact with the soft, squishy surface of Albert Whesker’s long, outstretched, tongue but a mere moment later.
Albert knew Chris still had his gun on him, though, and wasn’t going to take any chances with letting go of him until that threat was gone. As a result, Albert carefully unwrapped his fingers, revealing the arm that Chris was using to hold the gun, before grabbing ahold of the now miniscule, twig-like limb, preventing Chris from pulling the trigger, and almost instantly causing him to release his hold on the weapon if only out of a sudden bout of fear as a result.
Teasingly stomping down upon the now useless handgun on the floor, Chris was only able to watch as his one hope for survival was now crushed beneath Albert’s shoe, as he came closer and closer to the maw that hung open and salivated, practically pleading for his arrival.
The moment Chris got placed down onto the middle of his tongue, a great, pleasurable shiver made its way down Albert’s spine. A thin line of drool began to trail its way down his mouth as poor Chris on the inside only became more despondent to the world around him. Albert’s tongue slipped out from underneath him in order to savor his form, while said trickle of drool silently dripped down to the floor.
Albert’s tongue slithered its way across Chris’ form, practically slathering the poor man with a thick, goopy layer of saliva, before wrapping itself around him in an almost constrictor-like fashion, swishing him from cheek to cheek for a while as a result.
As much as Albert wished he could just stay here and keep on sampling Chris’ taste forever, though, he still knew he had a mission to do, and due to this, Chris was semi-aggressively flung from the middle of the maw all the way towards its back, his head scraping against the rough ridges at the top of Albert’s maw, before crashing face-first into the plump, dangling uvula, before gravity forced him to slide down, and plummet deep into the gullet.
Albert could feel Chris’ head lodged inside his throat, the feeling of having someone who used to be an ally of his now suffering helplessly inside his being leaving him with nothing short of heavenly bliss as he placed a couple fingers over his gullet in preparation for the swallow.
Chris on the inside had somewhat made it past the stage of tapping out of reality, and was just about to be rammed full force into it before Albert at last swallowed, shoving poor Chris’ being deep inside his esophagus, and rendering him completely and utterly stuck as a result.
Albert could feel the bulge that Chris was making in this throat as it traveled downwards towards its destination, the poor, panicking man within only now realizing that if he didn’t start resisting right fucking now, this may very well be the end of him for good.
Chris began aggressively shoving and kicking against the esophageal walls as they merely did their bodily job of squeezing and squelching him down towards the stomach while the larger man on the outside merely rolled his eyes laden underneath his sunglasses at how pathetic Chris’ little display of resistance was.
Swallowing once more in order to further hammer this point home, Chris suddenly realized that his heart beat had gotten so loud that it was practically booming all around him in the tight, squishy confines of-wait.
Chris’ brain stopped for a second. Then it thought. And thought. And thought some more. When it finally made its deliberation, the poor man within could only let out a sigh. No, that wasn’t his own heartbeat, that was Albert’s heartbeat, and it mean that he was rather close to exiting the esophagus and entering the possibly rather acidic and deadly stomach chamber, as, at this point, the lower esophageal sphincter couldn’t be anything more than a few inches away.
Alas, too poor Chris’ dismay, that was to be exactly the case, causing the tiny man to give a full body spasm as his feet were squeezed through said opening but a second later, on their way towards the stomach as a result.
Albert on the outside, who had gone back to sneaking his way through the establishment at this point, was able to feel the tiny man making a splash landing inside his guts, causing him to give a rather satisfied sigh as he gently pat over his middle, his tongue hazily lolling out of his mouth as a result. Albert didn’t care at this point if any dripping drool left DNA evidence he was there. No, for right here and now, the only thing that mattered was the fact that Chris, the former ally of his Chris, was trapped deep inside his stomach, with absolutely nowhere to go, and no way to resist at all. All he could do was merely sit down and shut up as Albert snuck deeper and deeper into his company’s facility, aiming to steal their information, and sabotage their plans.
Meanwhile, though Chris wasn’t exactly sure weather to be relieved or not, he had made the discovery that the liquids inside of Albert’s stomach at the moment were not harmful in nature, and though this did mean he was most likely going to make it out of here alive, it did mean he was now forced to squish his ear against the slick, churning walls of the organ as every audible step that Albert on the outside took reminded him that he had failed his job. He was supposed to protect the information lying within the archives, and yet, here he was, trapped with no exit, inside of the very man who he was supposed to stop in the first place. It was downright humiliating.
Chris had no idea weather the sudden increase of heat in his body was him getting hotter from embarrassment, or if he was just soaking up all the natural heat within the organ as it gurgled and growled about, the harmless liquid pool sloshing up against his body as Chris sunk even deeper into the pink, squishy walls.
He didn’t know what was going to happen to him when he got back out, but at the very least, if he stayed awake, he would be able to testify against Albert if in the situation that the powerful, stoic man ever got taken to trial. For the time being though, while his crime was in action, Chris had to soak up as much about the circumstances as was possible, and thus, began to focus hard on any and all of the noises Albert was making as he snuck his way through the building.
“You may have won the battle, Mr. Whesker…” Chris said to himself inside his head as he aggressively gritted his teeth. “But the second I am out of this place…I will personally see to it…that you will NOT win the war.”

Well, mostly), burn mentions (with dragons it’s gonna happen), and a handful of times about eardrums bursting (the harm towards reader by EraserMic). As well as dragon abuse. This does have much darker stuff than I usually write. Also a slow start for the yandere stuff. Pretty happy with the details in it. Hope you guys like it!
dragonerasermicdragonerasermicdragonerasermicdragon- *gets smacked*
These two as yandere dragons will now forever rot in my head. Hng, why have I not thought of it sooner!? Just THINKING of them as yandere dragons makes brain go brrr. Obviously going to write them as yandere dragon shifters again at some point. More than once too.
----------------------------------------
I’m close to the entrance gates to the kingdom ruled by a man that calls himself All For One. No one knows his real name. He’s a sick bastard that no one wants to be around, but no one can do anything since he’s a lot smarter than he looks with that damn mask over his head. My job by him is to heal dragons after their fights he forces them into, like the most recent one who is incredibly injured in front of me. He likes them by the entrance to torture them with the taste of freedom they will never get from the enchanted chains wrapped all over them.
While using my natural healing abilities that are actually a pretty rare thing, there is a commotion over towards the gates. The large metal doors open to reveal many men on horses and even a few on their feet holding ropes, pulling something large behind them. I sadly already know what’s being brought in. A saddened sigh escapes me at the sight of two new dragons that are heavily wounded being dragged in through the gates at the end of the ropes. More dragons that are bound to reach their unfortunate fate until they die.
Looking a bit closer, there are arrows sticking out of the two of them, and blood trailing on the ground. Both of their bodies are black, but one has everything black but a grey underbelly. Instead of spines, it has a feather-like long mane that is also black. The skin on their wings matches the grey of their underbelly. It’s impossible to know the eye color since they’re asleep for the moment.
The other quite possibly has the largest yellow spines I have ever seen. The same with his horns, they’re curved upwards at a slight angle. Their underbelly, as well as their wings match the color of the spines and horns. There are odd scales around their eyes with orange closer to the center, and a white outer rim, almost like it’s wearing sunglasses.
The dragon I was tending to just curls itself as much as it can away from me after healing it a small amount. I was ordered to only heal them enough for their wounds to not need stitching so they will still be rather weak to even try escaping. Why he would need enchanted chains then I have absolutely no clue. He takes a sick pleasure in his favorite dragons having such an advantage in the arena.
I lock eyes with Masura who gives me a giant sadistic smile in return. He enjoys hurting dragons way too much. A few have even ended up dying on the way here from wherever he and the others keep finding them.
“Brought some fresh meat for you to take care of. These two put up an incredible fight. Can’t wait to see what they will do in the arena.”
He and the others go to the line of chains near me and hook them all over the two dragons, including the specially created muzzle. Specially created by it having holes so they can dip their snout in the trough of water and get it in that way, and fire can’t get through. Feeding is still a bit of a problem though. Especially since I’m stuck being in charge of that as well. So many times being bitten or burned from having to remove it for that time.
I gently rub the scarred burn on my right forearm from a problem with an incredibly feisty and almost explosive yellow dragon before. Miraculously, he was the first and only dragon to escape alive. Then again, it was the turn of a different caretaker that night who ended up sentenced to death for it.
They quickly leave to let me tend to the injured duo. I sigh and quickly finish up the one in front of me with a rather large wound on its right hind leg. The bucket of healing water I enchanted helped the wound close up to a point. It can sadly easily be ripped open, which it obviously will tomorrow in its next fight. I would love nothing more than to be able to heal them better than I have to. There are serious consequences if it’s found out I did though. Emi was proof of that. Despite her joking personality, she really cared for the dragons. That was her downfall when a dragon was healed too much and almost overpowered one of All For One’s most prided dragons. Can’t remember which, but I’m pretty sure it was the female dragon named “Toga”. She- no. Don’t think about Emi’s final screams of pain.
I scan over the two dragons to see who is worse off. By far it seems to be the black one with the mane instead of spines. The most concerning is the arrow that seems to be in one of its lungs. It’s going to die if I don’t do something. I don’t want it to die so soon. Well, I do, yet I don’t. Do just so they don’t have to suffer fighting in battles, but don’t since they have such a long life to live yet. I just wish they’d be able to really be free after being caught.
Damn it, I might get into so much trouble for this…
A bright green glow comes from my hands as I wrap one around the arrow and one on its underside right next to the arrow. A quick and firm tug is able to get it out. I quickly enhance my healing power further to fully heal this one wound.
Not even a scar is left behind. Hopefully, they forgot the arrow was around there when they brought the dragons. I lean on the wall to steel my groundings from being exhausted from it. Ugh, it’s been too long since I’ve done that. My body is no longer used to my own powers. How sad. I’m the only one known for being born with such power. Emi was gifted it by enchantment by All For One. How he has the power to do that no one wants to know. We all just know he does, and he gets whatever he wants since no one can stop him.
After collecting myself for a moment, I scan the rest of their injuries and find out both of them are male. The maned one has more slashes on him than arrows, but the other has an incredible amount of arrows. Luckily, none of them are in vital places though.
The already reddened bucket shows it doesn’t have much more healing capabilities. I’m going to have to get a new one for healing. As long as it’s clear, the water covers the rag in a way it can close wounds. It’s an odd thing that somehow works and helps the healer keep more of their energy.
I decide to leave for a minute and refill the bucket. After dumping out the blood water, I refill it from the rather clean river that runs through this place. Using my healing ability, I stick my hand in the fresh freezing water and stir it around to leave a green glow for a moment. It will quickly warm up in this rather hot weather.
I go towards the two again to finish up their wounds. What surprises me is both have already woken up and are glaring at me greatly upon entrance. The maned one has the most piercing steel-white-like eyes I’ve ever seen. The other has bright green with an odd circle swirl in them I’ve never seen before. Have to say they almost seem a bit hypnotic.
The wonder doesn’t last long though as the green-eyed one lets out a noise that greatly hurts my ears. With that sound and this close proximity, my eardrums more likely than not just burst with the severe pain that came with it. A few tears threaten to escape with a pain I’m not used to.
The mask wasn’t made for dragons with a sound ability! We’ve never had one of these! Why didn’t Masura warn me!? Or more importantly, how wasn’t he heard before being dragged here with how loud he is!?
With my hands instinctively on my ears to try preventing it from bursting my eardrums again though it would be useless, All For One enters right after. Out of nowhere he summons another enchanted chain that wraps around his snout, preventing him from doing the same… Screaming? Shouting? Whatever that ability is to be used again.
He waits for a minute for me to heal my eardrums before attempting to speak to me.
I nearly start shaking as his head turns towards the non-wound area on the maned one. Masura must have informed him or slipped up talking about it.
Quick, I have to save my own skin! “I had to remove the arrow and fully heal it, otherwise it would have died from the arrow puncturing its lung, as you most likely knew already. I understand that’s no worry for you, but it would have been rather annoying if he died before being in even one fight to watch, right?” Oh please tell me that works!
A dead silence looms for a second before All For One turns towards me and gives me a curt nod. I almost heaved a sigh of relief. Almost being the key word. I held it in to make sure it wouldn’t annoy him. Probably wouldn’t, but it’s safer to not take a chance.
He creates another muzzle that’s more fitting for this dragon. He removes the chain around the snout and puts it on before he can get snapped at, or possibly screamed at? By said dragon. The belt part is wrapped rather tightly around his snout, making it look impossible for him to even move his jaw. At least the other has a bit of loose room for it to open ever so slightly so it doesn’t become stiff. That one is going to be a lot harder to take off for feeding them.
As if All For One could read my thoughts, which is terrifying to think, he glances at me. "You have a healing ability. If it screams with the muzzle removed, heal yourself. Don’t disappoint me." He then walks off. Probably to his dragons that he treats like gods to keep them loyal to him. Even one of them being obsessed with blood getting a human a week to feast upon. Usually, it’s prisoners that have tried to kill All For One or “dragon liberators” that caught wind of how he treats most of the dragons and tried to free them. Obviously with no succession.
I let out the unknown breath being held. Man, he’s terrifying and can suffocate someone by just his presence alone. The maned one looked almost worried at the other one while he almost seemed to be panicking with the tight muzzle around his snout. Can’t blame him. Imagine being in something similar. I’d be scared too.
His glance shifted from the still-panicking dragon towards me, glaring ten times worse than before. I sigh. “Don’t look at me like that. I don’t want you two to be here anymore than you do.” Can dragons even understand human speech? The explosive one that burned me before almost seemed like he did, but maybe it was just my imagination. The other turns towards me and tries to scream, or whatever it is again with no succession. Makes me wonder if he hasn’t had a similar experience somehow in the past. Ugh, thinking of that just makes me feel worse. Finally free only to be dragged back to somewhere that will probably be worse.
Saying “probably” because there are no branding marks or dents in their wrists from ropes that are usually on dragons from other places.
They’re probably already going to be fighting in the arena tomorrow. Thinking about that reminds me of how exhausted I am from healing the maned one. It’s going to be good for them to get names tomorrow in the arena. Already tired of trying to think of what to call them separately.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
I was right. Miraculously, All For One wanted it to be the last fight of the day involving those two. He wants me to be there to take off the loud one’s muzzle for every fight now and in the future. Starting to hate my healing ability now.
The chains are still wrapped around the two, and they’re led into different stalls for the arena. Of course, I was left alone with the loud one. Don’t know how that could POSSIBLY go wrong. Note the sarcasm. At least All For One was able to make it where the chains are held on the sturdy walls until he can let them leave. His sound should be plenty enough signal for All For One to release him.
He looks at me as I reach up to take the muzzle off. He stays quiet for a moment once it’s off, moving his more than likely stiff jaw around. There’s already a slight dent around his snout and jaw.
I shake my head disappointedly. “This is beyond fucking inhumane.” Leaving him waiting, my body goes towards the doors in front of him and opens them. They lead into the arena, which has a net high up in the air so dragons can’t fly away. Not like they could anyway with how fast All For One can summon chains to drag them to the ground.
The peace wasn’t kept long though as he uses his ability again. The chains snapped free off of him and he immediately charged out into the arena, where the other already was. Wait, he’s having double dragon fights? That’s new. He’s never done that before. On the other side of the arena, The wounded one from yesterday and a very feisty solid white one were on the other side. The white one looked like it was too eager to try to kill. The two closer to me were more on edge and almost seem like they really don’t want to fight the other two.
They didn’t get the chance to reject though as the white one immediately lunges towards them. They separate and dodge out of the way of it. It keeps snapping and blowing ice towards the maned one. He slams his front claws on the snout of it to prevent the ice from freezing him or the other. He screams at the ice dragon. It’s not as loud as it was when he yelled at me yesterday.
It’s almost as if… They’re more humane? This doesn’t make sense. Dragons are usually down to fight to the death, even when not healed much. At least, that’s what seemed to be until these two.
I look towards the other one who doesn’t seem to want to fight, but it knows as well as I this fight will go on until at least one dies.
As the two new dragons kept easily dodging and not striking too hard back, the crowd watching are not too happy with the lack of injuries. Some booing, and others even attempting to throw their held items like food at the dragons. The loud one snaps and uses his ability towards the crowd, almost or possibly even louder than yesterday. At least that shut them up.
I lean against the right door and snicker. “Serves them right.” For a quick second, the loud one turns his head towards me. There’s no way he could have heard me, right? Especially with that ability. Or maybe his body was born with being able to stand it? Super hearing yet super loud yelling doesn’t make sense to have though. Dragons are incredibly strange in the ways their bodies work. It’s also quite possible to just be thinking too much.
Fuck it, don’t think too much about that.
The wounded one from yesterday half-heartedly swipes at the maned one.  Even he seems to notice the odd behavior of the wounded dragon. Then again, three out of the four are acting a way I’ve never seen before. I look up towards the “throne” All For One has. He’s shaking his head and points towards the other side of the arena. The male with glasses sitting next to him nods and lifts one of the levers next to him.
Oh no. Not already.
Two familiar dragons exit the cell they were comfortably kept in. They’re not his top ones, but still get the job done in killing dragons when given the chance. He calls them Spinner and… I think the other was Moon something if remembered correctly. He’s not used as often as others, so his name isn’t exactly remembered. Calling him Moon is enough for me.
The crowd goes wild for the two. They know things get messy when Moon gets let out because of his freakish weird teeth ability. And… How he eats parts of dragons he kills.
In speaking of killing, immediately those two go for the kill. The wounded one didn’t stand a chance and had its neck snapped instantly by Spinner. Moon something lashes its teeth out and almost punctures the ice dragon.
Just watching the moon one move is quite unnerving. He’s so insanely fast and agile. Still wondering why he’s basically bound in a way. Then again, he’s at least twice as unhinged as Toga. I fear how fast he might be if he wasn’t bound.
In the blink of an eye, these two were much more defensive as the teeth blades went to strike them again. The ice dragon stopped going for them, and tries going after Moon Something. Ugh, what was that something? MoonFresh? No. MoonFlesh? I don’t think so.
He makes his teeth curve like a hook and tries again towards the ice dragon. It dodges again. Wait, hook… Fishing… MoonFish! That’s what it was!
I feel like slapping myself stupid for forgetting that.
Spinner jumps onto the wall and tries to use that to sneak up on the loud one. It doesn’t work as he was focused on Spinner as soon as the two new ones entered. He moves out of the way and instead of screaming, screeches this time. It’s much higher and worse than any sound he’s made yet. The maned one doesn’t even flinch, but the other three definitely do. Spinner was right beside the loud one. He recoils in obvious pain and stands there shaking his head.
It hurt my ears as well, but this time it didn’t make them burst, surprisingly. I don’t think the same could be said for Spinner. They have internal ears, so I’m not exactly sure if they burst, or whatever it is their species’ ears do.
I look up to see All For One leaning a bit forward in his chair, now taking slight interest. Moonfish recovers incredibly quickly and lunges his teeth again. This time it punctures right through the ice dragon’s chest as they did a final ice breath. At the same time, a few land on the other two, causing some decently deep cuts. The ice breath freezes the rest of MoonFish’s body.
The maned one wastes no time in swiping his tail towards the frozen body, shattering it upon impact.
The crowd goes eerily quiet. Looking at All For One, he remains indifferent. It’s too hard to tell his emotions about what just happened. Spinner tries again to sneak behind the two and breathe his fire. The two seem so focused on the death of three dragons in one fight. Are they not used to it?
They still haven’t noticed Spinner on the wall. At least I thought. The loud one instantly turns and rears onto his back legs and slams Spinner onto the ground with an almost punch-like move of his right talon.
Before anything can be done, these two are chained again. The loud one being yanked off of Spinner, who instantly retreats back towards the open gate he came from. I’m honestly a little disappointed he wasn’t finished off as well.
I sigh and go towards the stalls again, preparing to heal them. An already created healing bucket sitting in the same spot I used for them yesterday.
It doesn’t take long for the two to be dragged in again by Masura and the bunch of… well, meatheads to say the least. I swear none of them even think half the time about anything. The two are definitely fighting and struggling with the men.
The loud one goes to use his ability again. “Pipe down you overgrown lizard!” Masura punches the dragon in the jaw as hard as he can. It makes a sickening “crack” noise.
The maned one gets pissed and starts snapping at him as well. The only reason I can think of why he’d do that is he knows the other one. Why didn’t I make the connection sooner? These two must know each other!
Masura rolls his eye at them. So glad some good dragons before were able to take out one of his eyes. If only they could have taken out both. The chains get put where they were before, making the two unable to move much again.
I’d put the muzzle on the loud one, but with his now broken or dislocated jaw it wouldn’t be the best and needs to be healed first. I can tell Masura is itching to punch one of them again.
He stands there and smirks with his arms crossed as I dip the rag into the bucket. The loud one’s jaw is first. That’s now by far the most concerning injury. Looking a bit closer, it is definitely dislocated. I shake my head in disapproval at Masura while remaining eye contact with the dragon. It almost feels like he’s able to read me. “Did you seriously have to dislocate his jaw?”
“Heh, the damn thing deserved it for trying to use their voice at me,” I roll my eyes at his comment. Of fucking course he’d try to use his ability. We kidnapped, or more like dragonnapped him and are forcing him to fight other dragons. I’d use anything I could too. “Not everyone has a goody-perfect healing thing like you either,” he continued.
I shrug, then gently try to grab his lower jaw to try setting it back in place. “I’d just have to heal your sorry ass.”
“Tch, my sorry ass? You’re the one who always seems to get all buddy-buddy with dragons. You heal them too gently. You’re the one with a sorry ass.”
Cue my sarcastic mode. “Oh, I’m sorry for calling you a sorry ass. I must so clearly be the worst one since I’d rather not have dragons fight me all the time like you,” There was another sickening “crack” as its jaw was put back into place. The dragon hisses in obvious pain. I bring up the rag to the side of his jaw to try quickly relieving it. “Easy bud,” I try to whisper to make Masura not hear. Thankfully he didn’t seem to since he didn’t comment on it.  “We can’t all think with our muscles rather than with our brains. Nothing would get done right,” I continue, but this time out loud. The loud dragon lets out a snort.
His footsteps go away, indicating he left. Probably upset. Good. I roll my eyes at him as I look over the dragon’s jaw. Good as new. Good thing about that is there’s not really any way to tell if I healed it all the way or not. Broken or dislocated bones are crazy enough easier and faster to heal than wounds. How that works with leaving the layer right under cut open and easily able to tear open again, but heals bone instantly is beyond me.
Looking around and closing any other wounds, I then go to the maned one. He nips at me to try getting my hands away. It’s far more gentle and human-like than the others that have tried to bite me before. Almost like he’s telling me he doesn’t want to be healed by human hands. Understandable.
… wait a minute. Bite, or opening jaw… I look towards the loud one and flinch, preparing for his voice. Of course I can heal, but it still hurts. My shoulders even tense upwards. It never comes. Looking at him, he still just looks at me.
Well, now I’m in a dilemma. Do I put on the muzzle now, and possibly break this trust or whatever he seems to somehow already be giving me, or leave it off and possibly get yelled at later by him, or even someone coming in to see him without his muzzle?
Ugh, I might regret this. Might as well risk it for now. I can just lie that it was forgotten to be put on if someone asks about it. Turning back to this one, I heal him anyways. He makes a slight hissing fuss but accepts it after a moment. After finishing, I leave to get them some raw meat to eat. Sadly, the biggest thing available is some moderately sized fish. They don’t seem like river or ocean dragons, so chunks of deer will have to do. It gets placed down not too far from them. They look at me warily for a bit. Maybe they don’t want me to watch them eat? It’s time for me to leave anyway.
Ugh, but the muzzles… Hopefully, they’ll eat when I’m away for a bit. I have a stupid idea I’ve never done before. Sleeping beside the dragons. Walking out lets me give that a little more thought. At least one night to see how they do couldn’t hurt. But first, there is a need to talk to All For One about their names.
I enter the area he usually is with his prized dragons. Most are pretty indifferent to me, except for Toga who has tried to stab me more than once with her blade-like tail.
I stand behind him awkwardly while he pats Spinner’s right shoulder. “They’re both… Interesting to say the least. A shame for Moonfish, but the ones tomorrow will be entertaining as well. Let’s see if they can handle Toga and Dabi.” Dread slightly seeps into me. He’s already making them face all his most dangerous ones?
“What about their names if you decide to manipulate them after and keep them as pawns?”
He shakes his head. “I have enough pawns. The audience has decided on Shatter for the loud one, and Lion for the other..”
… What? “Lion?”
“Must be the hair on it. I don’t name the things. The people do. The one thing they do have control over.” Which is beyond sad. Fucking tyrant.
I nod in reply. “Sounds good.” After that, I leave before he could say or do anything else. The less around him the better, even if he hasn’t done anything negative towards me yet.
Upon entering the same place again, they did eventually eat the meat while I was gone. That’s good. There’s an open area a bit to the left and away from the dragons. I plan on laying there for the night. It’s only to make sure no one comes in and sees them without their muzzles. No one but me knows a feeding schedule so it’s a good lie saying they were just fed. I’ve decided to think they can understand human speech, even if they don’t. They’re more pleasant to talk to than most people around.
“All right you two, I normally don’t do this, but I’ll be sleeping in here a bit away from the both of you for a few nights. My back won’t appreciate it, but I sure hope you two do. It’s only because I’d rather not put those muzzles back on,” I look at the still slightly dented skin of Shatter. Damn, and that was only for like what? Half a day of him wearing it? “But if someone comes in, I will have to temporarily put them back on. Please don’t fight it too much.”
Shatter tilts his head in an almost cute type of way. Well, that’s certainly unique. I go over to the corner and sit down against the wall. Leaning slightly back so my back fully touches it, and tilt my head up. My ass won’t be too happy tomorrow either. Maybe bringing my pillow for tomorrow night or something will help.
---------------------------------------------------------
I am rudely woken up by something sharp stabbing my foot. Looking down, it’s a feisty Bombay kitten biting and clawing at it. Where did it come from? Another thing noticed is my body is now fully laying sideways on the ground. “Ouch! Hey there you little feisty thing.” I go to grab it, and it notices. It then takes off towards the dragons, making my heart sink thinking it’s about to become a tiny snack for one of them. Strange enough, neither do. Lion just looks at it in an almost caring way. Shatter looks at Lion in a way I can’t fully understand.
Looking outside, the sun is just starting to fully show. That means in just a few hours the arena fights will begin again. Knowing All For One, he’s going to save these two for last again. Turning back to the two, Lion has one of his claws gently extended for the kitten to play with. That is once again extremely odd behavior for a dragon. Maybe everything known about them is wrong?
“Be careful today. I was informed of who you two will be fighting. They’re much more dangerous than the other two yesterday. One has fire hot enough to burn scales off dragons. The other is agile and very good at injuring.”
They just look at me.
A few fights have already passed, and my anxiety increases for the two. I’ve already had to heal the other dragons that fought today. Except for the ones that died. Getting really tired of seeing so many die for no cause other than the sick entertainment of humans.
The muzzles were already temporarily put back on the two. Shatter’s is rather loose, just to help him not freak out again, and he obviously doesn’t deserve something like that. Luckily once again, I’m the only one taking care of Shatter. He doesn’t scream at me as I quickly take it off. I risk it and pat his shoulder. “Good luck out there. You’re going to need it. He doesn’t bite me! Man, this is crazy.
Again, the gate opens and his chains come off of him. Lion bolts out of the stall next to us, and glares inside it, probably involving Masura.
Straight to the chase, Toga and Dabi are released from their places. Dabi almost gets a grin on his face from his teeth being shown in what seems to be a smile. Or maybe even a sneer with how stuck up he seems to be. Toga immediately poises her sharp tail above her.
It feels like everyone holds their breath for a second as the four stand still in the arena. Toga is the first to charge for Shatter. He immediately jumps out of the way, and tries to swing his tail towards her legs to make her fall off balance. She jumps over his tail and stabs it in the process. She then licks the blood off of the blade of her tail.
Shit! I forgot to warn about her transformation! The one thing though it could still be easy to tell which is the real shatter from his ability, and he wouldn’t attack Lion. I don’t think All For One knows they care about each other. Wait… But if she fights Shatter in his form and Lion tries to help… Oh no.
Dabi starts using his fire towards Lion. It slightly grazes him before he can get out of the way. He lets out a growl in slight pain as smoke comes from some of his scales. Shatter goes to use his ability at Dabi, but stops abruptly as Toga transforms into him. She goes to attack him again. She might remember his ability from listening and possibly watching yesterday. They’re able to watch for an even better chance at winning.
She swings her claws at his throat, making him go to the defensive and try to back away.
While that is going on, Lion is too busy being focused on Dabi’s fire, and constantly jumping from it. It gets to the point Lion is facing me, and the back of Dabi is visible. He glares at Dabi, and I see his eyes turn red. Why the FUCK are these two dragons so much stranger than most!? What is up with his eyes changing color!? Dabi goes to use his fire, but… It doesn’t come out?
… !!! A cancellation ability!?
Now that seems to catch the attention of everyone, especially All For One. He leans a bit forward in his chair. I can’t see Dabi’s face, but I bet it’s one of surprise judging by his tensed body. He freezes for a moment, giving Lion the chance to strike first. He’s able to manage a pretty deep slash onto Dabi’s side when he tries to move away. One quick glance shows Lion’s eyes are back to his steel or whitish color. He only manages another rather deep slash to Dabi’s shoulder. He tries to use his fire again, and succeeds. With the close range I worry that Lion was burned to a crisp immediately.
He glares again to cancel the fire again before it can do serious damage to him. Ah, so there is a timer-like thing for it. He slams his tail into Dabi, knocking him towards his back. He’s able to manage another slash onto Dabi’s exposed stomach. It’s easy to tell Dabi is slightly panicking, not used to never being hit so much before. Probably the cancellation as well.
Presumably Toga notices Dabi having a hard time, meanwhile, she’s giving Shatter a surprisingly hard time, and a lot of injuries. She charges towards him still as Shatter and manages to get a clean deep swipe to his right eye. My heart sinks to my stomach.
Lion hardly gives it a chance though since he notices Dabi trying to get back up. He claws again at Dabi, striking his chest. There’s now a good pool of blood being trailed onto the ground from all Dabi’s wounds. Now that Shatter has a bit of freedom, he’s able to scream. Just like yesterday, it’s much more of a screech than a scream. Again like before, Dabi and Toga flinch in pain at the sound. It gives Lion the chance to injure the Shatter that attacked him, making the transformation wear off.
Before anything else can be done, chain envelops the two again, allowing Dabi and Toga to get away freely. Of course the coward would do this when his precious pawns are losing. “Cheating bastard.” I mumble with obvious frustration. Shatter looks towards me again.
That’s the least of my concern now though. Lion’s eye needs to be looked at ASAP. I go back to their stalls to prepare for their return.
Again, it doesn’t take long. Neither are wearing muzzles, but Shatter doesn’t scream, possibly in fear of his jaw being dislocated again. Masura almost seems disappointed when he and the others drag them in. It was almost too much to wait for all of them to leave before rushing towards the two dragons, especially Lion.
When reaching up for his head, I almost yank it down to my eye level to see the damage to his eye. They almost seem surprised by my concern. Thankfully, his eye was missed, just barely. My foot nervously taps onto the ground for a second while in thought. It’s still a really deep wound, but fully healing it would raise suspicion, and All For One already isn’t too happy with these two defeating so many of his favorites. Not many have been able to beat Dabi and Toga. My hand gets its familiar glow and comes into contact with the wound. I don’t heal it all the way. There’s a giant scar left instead. They gave me a look. “I’m sorry. I really badly want to heal it fully, but I don’t want to die by healing you guys too much like the last person did,” I look towards the burned scales as well. “Those can’t be fully healed either. Some reason my healing doesn’t really work on burns.”
Their eyes almost seem to widen.
Shatter looks towards the entrance instead a moment later and hisses. I rush for the muzzles. Obviously, they’re really resilient to them being put on.
I get Shatter’s on just in time for All For One to enter. He goes right up to Lion. “A canceling ability. Simply magnificent. I wonder, how many can he cancel at once? Guess tomorrow we will see,” He almost seems to glare at Shatter. “Although I do not trust that one to not get in the way. Tomorrow will be just Lion, or now given the name Suppress.”
He goes to touch the now named “Suppress”, but he smacks his head against All For One’s hand, making him pull it away. “Ah, still got good fight as well. Good. Tomorrow will be interesting.”
“Uh, S-sir? If I may ask, what is your plan for him tomorrow?” Damn it, why did I have to stutter?
He turns his masked head towards me. I can almost FEEL his grinning under the thing. “He’s going to fight Tomura as well tomorrow.”
I’m pretty sure I stopped breathing. There’s no way he can fight Dabi, Toga, AND Tomura at the same time without being killed!
He doesn’t say anything else as he turns and leaves. I quickly take their muzzles back off. There’s nothing that can be done. I can only hope he’s strong enough to survive. No dragon has survived Tomura though. I sigh heavily and look at Suppress. “I hope you can handle a lot at once. If I’m right, you might be against three tomorrow. Be as ruthless as you can. They won't be holding back.”
I leave and grab food for them again. This time, they eat it with me there. I sit in the same spot as before.
-------------------------------------
The next day comes too soon. This time I’m woken up to the sun shining right on my face. That means it’s much later than yesterday. I go to sit up, and nearly groan in stiffness. Yep, here comes the pain and stiffness of laying on the floor. The two of them are staring at me while growling, or probably talking to each other. Well that’s a little weird.
I get up lean backwards, giving my back a good crack. It felt satisfying and did relieve the tiniest bit of discomfort. Using my healing, it doesn’t take long to feel fully normal again. I look at the giant scar still under Suppress’ eye. Pity courses through me at it. Well, at least she didn’t strike slightly higher, permanently losing his sight. Judging that Suppressor might be taken soon for a final fight today, I get up and grab the muzzles yet again. I’m so sick of even seeing these damn things. Suppressor’s gets put on properly, but I keep Shatter’s a bit loose again. He almost seems appreciative of it. “When they come to take you, save your energy for the fight. You’re going to need everything you can get.”
They were put on just in time too since Masura comes in with a few others to take Suppress. “Already?” I question.
“Yeah, he wants this to be the only fight today. He couldn’t wait to see what this thing is made of.”
This “thing” is a he, you overdeveloped rotten cabbage.
The dragon must have been able to understand me since he doesn’t fight them that strongly as they drag him out by the chains. I sigh and look towards Shatter. “I hope he’s strong. He’s going to need everything he can get.”
I follow Masura into the stall. It’s odd being in a different one for once, and I’m horrified with how roughly they throw him around with the chains. I go up front and take off his muzzle yet again, allowing him to snap at the people. I smirk as he gets dangerously close to his teeth meeting the flesh of one of the men close to me on my left. He shrieks and stumbles far away.
He then gets shoved forward out of the stall into the arena. Masura and the others quickly leave, probably to the stands to get a better view of the fight higher up.
It’s dead silent in the stands. “Now, I know there are usually a few every day, but this is a chance that can’t be taken up. Today is a one fight only, and three against one. Now, that usually doesn’t happen with the lack of action that would normally cause, but this dragon has an incredibly special ability I want to see how they fare on their own,” three separate gates open, revealing what I feared. He’s given them a higher advantage by not all being together to have their abilities eliminated. Now, Toga’s not really a problem since Suppress doesn’t have an ally, but she’s still incredibly agile and dangerous.
Tomura is probably one of the oddest dragons. His scales look incredibly dry, despite not exactly being a desert dragon. Bright red eyes glowing with hate, and talons of dead dragons latched onto his body. Don’t know why they’re there, but it’s still such a sickening thing to see.
Dabi looks good as before with no slash wounds to be seen. Of course the fucker is willing to fully heal his dragons whenever they’re injured.
Toga is in front, Dabi on Suppress’ left, and Tomura on his right. There was an eerie stillness for a moment, almost like they're all waiting for something. That something was Tomura. He hissed something, and they all lunged for him. He manages to dodge all three. Tomura is trying to get a grip on him for disintegration, or decay, or whatever terrifying thing it is he does. Suppress is trying to keep an eye on him and ducks down in time to avoid Dabi’s fire. Toga tries to stab him with her tail while he’s lowered against Dabi’s fire and watching Tomura.
Turns out he was somehow also able to keep watch of Toga. He brings his tail in front of him and pushes Toga up without her realizing. Dabi’s fire hits her for a moment, making her let out a sound that makes Dabi stop. Even from here smoke is coming off of her back.
She jumps out of the way for Dabi to continue. He uses his ability to stop Dabi from using his hot fire. Since he’s so distracted by keeping his sight on Dabi, and ends up focusing more on Toga’s location. Tomura is able to get up on him again. He manages to grab Suppress' right arm. It’s not for long as he seems to notice immediately what the dragon’s ability does. It stops decaying as he glares at Tomura instead.
Dabi notices and tries to use his fire again. It works. So his ability must need to keep his eyes in contact with a dragon to stop their ability. Chunks of his arm fall away, leaving his arm to start bleeding rather heavily. Suppress flinches is obvious pain. He’s able to keep a level head and use Tomura’s grip on him to pull him in front in the path of Dabi’s fire. Really clever using a long-range foe’s ability to harm its allies.
Dabi doesn’t stop in time, greatly charring Tomura’s already bad scales as well.
All For One isn’t too happy of his favorite pawn being injured so quickly already. Well, it’s obviously his fault for the other two joining in the first place.
A sick pleasure grows in me at his frustrated stance of tight grip on his chair. Though pity courses through me as well looking at his partially decayed arm. Should have warned him about that.
Toga manages to ignore the pain of her burned scales and attempts to attack Suppress again. He swipes his tail as hard as he can, making Toga go flying and crash into the wall from her rather small size. Especially compared to the others. The back of her head hit the wall as well, and she slumps to the ground, unmoving. She doesn’t seem to be dead though, her stomach still slightly rising.
Now All For One seems to be getting angrier. He doesn’t seem to be the only one. Tomura lets out a rather angry growl. Suppress is facing me again, and blinks, though he really didn’t seem to want to. That’s all the two needed to go all-out on him again.
Tomura tries to grab him again but wasn’t able to. Suppress grabs right above his two front talons to prevent more decay. One thing going for him is he’s much stronger physically, so he’s able to manage quite easily keeping him pinned down.
With Dabi’s fire consistently being shot at him, he does something his body shows he didn’t really want to do. He tilts his head and leans down, biting into the sides of Tomura’s neck. He slowly continues to bite down harder as Dabi doesn’t cease using his fire at him. Tomura is visually starting to panic at this point.
I think I know his plan, but it probably won’t work. Dabi doesn’t really care about the others but tolerates them for his own enjoyment of the arena.
Looking at All For One, I freeze. He’s angrier than I’ve ever seen him. I can swear I see his hands shaking from here. Huh, he’s not usually the type to have strong visual emotion besides slight interest.
Eventually, there was a sickening “crunch”, indicating that Suppress must have bitten into bone. Tomura’s neck slumps to the side, and he can’t seem to pick his head back up.
All For One had enough as he stood up from his chair for the first time and I can see the chains going for Suppress again. The chains yank Suppress so harshly that he drops Tomura, and ends up being slammed into one of the walls himself.
My body freezes completely as All For One’s head turns to look directly at me. I’m happy Suppress was able to survive, but now I’m dreading what All For One’s going to do to him.
I rush back to Shatter since I can tell All For One is about to come in this time. He seems desperate to have the muzzle off again. His eyes almost light up as I enter. “Sorry, I can’t take it off yet. Your friend is in pretty bad shape though and will be coming shortly.”
I almost waited with bated breath for a good few minutes. This time, instead of Masura and the others, it was All For One himself, easily dragging the dragon along. The chains pull him back by the other and latch back onto the walls. He has chains wrapped around his snout like the other did before. He’s between me and the dragons, and I can see their expressions behind him. Suppress is still flinching in pain from his decayed flesh.
He turns his head to me. “Kill them both.”
I was in shock. I have never been demanded to kill a dragon, yet alone two before. He won fairly! Even with injuries! He and Shatter deserve to be let free!
I notice the two dragons tense behind him.
“I will not repeat myself. They nearly killed my best pawn. Nothing gets to pass my pawn. That will not stand, so they will be killed,” He looks at Shatter’s loosened muzzle. Fuck. “I noticed they seem to be trusting of you, so I’m making you do it. You have one hour,” he turns around and leaves.
I look at the wounds of his fight from earlier. You know what? Fuck him. If I die, I die.
“I think you both more than earned your freedom by now. Hell, neither of you should have been here in the first place. Do me a favor and warn the others to not come near here ever again.” Shatter tilts his head at me again as I take off his muzzle and the chains around Suppress' snout.  Here’s to hoping they can understand me. The sword hanging on the wall out of reach of the two dragons should be able to break the chains.
My first priority is to fully heal that decayed part. The scar under his eye is sadly permanent now though. My hand glows its familiar green and it hovers over the wound. Unfortunately, it couldn’t be fully healed either, but the scar is much smaller than it would have been. I try my best with the burns, but it doesn’t do much.
The longer my hand hovers right above his scales and heals him, the more drained and tired I feel. It gets to the point my body tries to fall forward. I push my hand onto him to try keeping my balance. “Whew. Not quite… Used to using so much energy. Haha.” His shoulder that I’m leaning against twitches. I take it as my cue to step away and end up leaning against the wall not far behind me to catch my breath. Looking towards Shatter, he’s still in pretty good shape, but the wounds from before can be healed a bit more to make sure they don’t reopen.
I trudge over to him and do the same, ending up leaning on him like Suppress. This time even more tired though. I can’t rest yet. There’s so little time to get them free yet. I push myself off him and go to grab the sword. With my tired state it’s almost too heavy to be lifted.
The first thing was their wings with metal being wrapped around them and pulled outwards. I grab the chain closer to him to try preventing it from pulling. The sword gets slammed down as hard as possible, making the chain break. One by one, the others were broken too. Eventually, all were broken off of both. My arm is so sore from lifting the sword so many times, and being drained in the first place. My breath is incredibly ragged.
After dropping the sword after the final chain, I close my eyes and lean against the wall. It’s hard to stay awake. “There. Now… Get going before someone returns.”
Both of them stop towards the entrance and look at me. “Go!” I yell at them and point forward. They stay for a moment longer, then bolt out.
I stay leaned for a few minutes. That was beyond exhausting. Two familiar sets of footsteps enter.
“You damn traitor. I really thought you’d be better than the last. I should kill you now!”
I look towards the entrance. All For One and Masura. Guess just get it over with then.
All For One stops him with an arm in front of him. “No. They deserve much worse than death for their betrayal.”
Well shit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Locked in a dark cell for a good week. Hardly any food, and quite possibly the bare minimum of water given for me to stay alive. At least it wasn’t permanent. Almost wish it was with that happens after leaving the cell. After leaving, he gave the others free rein to injure me whenever they pleased. Masura was more than happy to oblige, leaving me with some rather problematic injuries that made me so tired to heal I could barely heal dragons if I tried. Of course, now someone is always watching me when it’s my time to heal the dragons. My job is only partial now though since he wants someone more “loyal” for the job. Hopefully, those two are happy at least. That’s all that matters.
In speaking of that, today was a day I wasn’t in charge of it. But Masura sure as hell had a lot of fun tossing me around like a ragdoll. Many show pity for me, but they know not to help. I can’t blame them no matter how much it hurts. A younger one with green curly hair looks like he wanted to deck Masura himself. Same with the dual-haired one beside him. Another rather tall one with glasses stops them and uses a chopping motion to tell them something, making them not intervene. They were a bit too far to be heard. My body is too tired today to heal the recent wounds from him as well. Pretty sure my right eye is a black eye from it being stuck partially closed and obviously the pain.
While looking around to make sure he’s not near me or any of the others for now today, I stumble upon a rather intimidating-looking man. His back is facing me as someone with really long blue hair is talking to him. He just radiates a strong and uncomfortable type of feeling. Never seen them around before. He doesn’t even turn around. “Sorry, sir.” Some reason that seems to catch his attention. The other two, which is a rather pretty woman. Rather long and messy black hair turns around to lock steely-gray-like eyes with mine.
That scar reminds me too much of the dragon from before. Wasn’t the scar about the same place too? Huh, he must have been too interested in that fight and lacks self-preservation or something. His eyes widen for some reason. He must have been told by others to not even come near the now outcast.
I don’t even get to blink when he grabs one of my arms to pull me towards him again. My body instinctively flinches and gets prepared to be hit again. It never comes. My eyes open to see him staring at small cuts still bleeding slightly. His sight then immediately goes towards my swollen eye. There’s an odd fury that grows in his eyes the more he sees. Too tired to think what that must be about. I try to pull my arm free from his grip. ‘I’m sorry sir, but could you please let me go? I’m really tired and just want to go home for the day.”
He doesn’t. If anything, his grip gets slightly tighter from me trying to pull away. Not painfully so, but it’s there. The other turns to look, and her eyes widen a substantial amount. She looks at him. “They the one? They’re not looking so hot.”
“We got what we need. Tell Zashi and the others.”
She nods and pushes something hidden against her ear. “We found the target.” She says something else too, but my mind is too caught up in the “target” part.
T-target!? That snaps me to attention. What did All For One tell them? Are they looking for something and he pinned the blame on me that I have it? Did he hire them to make my life more insufferable?
A set of footsteps comes up rapidly. They must be running as fast as they could. It’s another male. He has incredibly long hair and some rather odd facial hair. He suddenly hugs me. “So glad to have finally found you! The week has been terrible! Sho! We shoulda taken then with us!”
I don’t know you weirdos. What kind of sick prank is this? I try to push him away. “You must have the wrong person. I don’t know either of you.” He latches on tighter. “C’mon, we’re not dragons now, but you gotta recognize us! Especially Sho’s scar!
...What? Looking closer, the blond one seems to have small scales poking at his clothing. That… This cannot be possible. I shake my head in disbelief. “There’s no way! Dragon shifters aren’t real!”
“Oh, we definitely are, dear- what happened!? Why do you have so many injuries!?”
“That Masura man I’m guessing. Problem child informed me of it not too long ago.”
Problem child?
The blond one almost seems to growl. “Don’t regret our decision for today then.”
“Decision?” I question.
They both grow a rather sadistic smirk. I can’t tell which is more unnerving. The blond’s is bigger and shows more of his teeth, but there’s just something about the black-haired one’s that seems more unnatural.
“Well, we’ve been lookin’ for ya for about a week now. We were starting to think he did kill you, and we weren’t happy. Besides! A dragon killer like him can’t live anyway. He’s a danger to our kind!” he turns towards the woman. “Give everyone the signal,” He turns towards this ‘“Sho” or whatever he is. “You should take them. Don’t want any more damage to our poor lovely healer, huh?” He smiles at me.
I’m… still trying to wrap my frazzled mind and body around this. I don’t get to though from the sudden thing of many of the people around suddenly growing rapidly in size, and obtaining dragon qualities.
It doesn’t even take a minute for them all to be full dragons, and ripped clothes everywhere. As well as the two familiar ones right in front of me. Shatter and Suppress.
Shatter picks me up and flies up a bit, being careful with his claws. He places me on Suppress’ back.
Can things please stop for two minutes to let me think!? Again, I don’t get to as Suppress takes off into the air. There’s nothing to really grab onto to not fall off, so I grab his hair. It’s surprisingly soft. Wasn’t expecting that. My hands make the hair wrap around my hands a few times to not have to clench it so tightly. I’d rather not fall to my death.
He either dosn’t feel me pulling on his hair or doesn’t care. I lean closer to ignore the air whipping by as he speeds around flying. The screaming of the people is also a bit too much. They have nothing to fend themselves since dragons have never attacked this place before. Usually they get caught before they do.
There’s the familiar screaming or yelling of Shatter in the distance. I look over to see him with multiple other dragons against All For One. He’s gotten a few chained to the ground, but the sheer amount of them that keep using their abilities against him is making it really hard for him to focus.
A familiar exploding dragon zooms past to fight one of his prized dragons he must have let free to help. They’re not helping much. They can’t. There are too many. Toga tries to stab him with her tail, but the exploding one is relentless. He has a sick smile, almost like he’s enjoying the fight. He almost too quickly manages to pin her to the ground and slams explosion after explosion onto her face.
Dabi is being managed by an oddly colored dragon that reminds me of the red and white-haired one from earlier. With him fighting Dabi is a green one with an oddly long tongue, and a pink and brown one who somehow can move large buildings to fall onto Dabi, making him constantly jump around to avoid being hit.
Tomura doesn’t seem to be having much luck either. The two must have informed the others of his ability. He’s against multiple with long-ranged abilities like Shatter.
Despite all the noise around, I’m getting even more tired with the rocking of his body with the movement of his wings. Same with his oddly warm scales being rather comforting, and hair draping around me like a blanket. Exhaustion overtakes me as the sounds of screaming people, roaring dragons, and crackling fire of houses slowly fades to silence with me drifting off.

Part 20
Request: Yes or No
~
"Time travel sounds fun until you see how cringy you used to be." You said, watching Nebula fix some things on the suit Scott had on.
"I've never been cringy." Scott said. You stayed silent in response, glancing at Rhodes. Scott blinked, scoffing softly as you giggled.
"You're great, Scott." You gave a tired smile. Bruce went to put in the red capsules.
"Hey- Hey, be careful!"
"I'm being very careful." Bruce replied.
"No, you're being very Hulky." Scott put in the capsules himself. Even if Bruce was careful, he could still crush whatever was in there without even thinking about it. It was weird seeing Bruce in Hulks body but you supposed it helped end the beef they had. Scott and Bruce went back and forth until he turned small and big in a second.
"Alright, one test run." Scott gave a sheepish smile, glancing at everyone in the room. "I'm not ready for this."
"I'm game." You turned your head, looking at Clint. You crossed your arms, a soft sigh leaving you.
"I'll do it." Clint shrugged. Scott licked his lips, looking at Bruce. Bruce gave him a small nod so Scott walked out of the room to change out of the suit. Clint followed.
"So.. He got a new tattoo." Rhodes glanced at you. You licked your lips, shrugging lightly. Rhodes sighed, leaving the room momentarily before returning with some twizzlers. He offered one to you, giving a small smile. You took it, taking a small bite from it as Clint walked into the room with the suit on. Nebula made sure everything was good with the suit.
"Clint, you're gonna feel a little discombobulated from the shift. Don't worry about it." Bruce told him.
"Wait, wait.. Let me ask you something. If we can do this, you know go back in time, why don't we just find baby Thanos and just.." Rhodes made a wrapping and squeezing motion.
"I mean, it's a solid idea. Baby Thanos was probably real ugly anyways." You said, chewing on the candy. Bruce stared at you and Rhodes in disbelief.
"First of all, that's horrible-"
"It's Thanos."
"And secondly, time doesn't work that way. Changing the past doesn't change the future."
"We go back and get the stones before Thanos gets them.. Thanos doesn't get the stones!" Scott said, shrugging. Rhodes nodded, motioning to him.
"Problem solved!"
"Bingo." Clint nodded as Nebula glanced at them, giving a small shake of her head.
"That's not how it works." She muttered.
"Anyways, who told you that?"
"Star Trek, Terminator, Time Cop, Time After Time, Wrinkle in Time, Hot Tub Time Machine-"
"So, any movie with time in the name." You said with a chuckle.
"Well, it doesn't work like that. If you travel to the past, that past becomes your future and your former present becomes your past." Bruce explained. You hummed, continuing to munch on the twizzler.
"If time travel works.. That means there's different versions of ourselves in different.. Dimensions, right? Like living things we've lived and making decisions we'll eventually make?"
"Yes, actually." Bruce nodded, glad that at least someone was getting it.
"For example, my past self might be in Sokovia fighting Ultron right now while my future self might be relaxing on a beach." Bruce said with a shrug. You hummed, nodding.
"I wonder what my future self is doing.."
"Probably getting therapy instead of napping and drinking." Rhodes muttered, glancing at you. You scoffed softly.
"You drink?" Clint questioned, brows furrowing as a frown tugged at his lips. You shifted your gaze back to the man you used to call dad and shrugged.
"Occasionally." Once the suit was good to go and Bruce had told Clint everything he needed to do, you followed the guys and Nebula to the platform Rocket had built. It was surprising how much a raccoon could built. You glanced at Thor, giving him a small nod. Bruce walked up to the controls, the others standing behind him as they watched Clint stand in the center.
"Alright, Clint.. We're going in three.. Two.." You could tell Clint was nervous, you were too. Despite everything, he had still been someone who took you in and loved you. You slowly chewed on the twizzler, gaze flickering around the platform. To Clint it could feel like hours but it would merely be seconds for you and the others. Clint suddenly appeared, falling on the ground. The helmet retracted as he panted. Natasha quickly rushed up onto the platform with you following incase he had injuries. Natasha helped him up, getting him grounded as Clint looked around.
"I saw her... I saw Lila again.." Clint panted. You stared at him, swallowing as your grip on the twizzler tightened. Clint tossed a baseball glove at Tony, nodding.
"It worked." Clint said. A sense of relief filled you along with everyone. There was a chance at getting everyone back. The team turned, heading to an office in order to talk more and come up with a game plan. You finished your twizzler, taking a seat and watching Tony pull up pictures of the stones.
"We gotta find out the when and the where." Steve said, looking over all of the stones.
"Almost everyone in this room has had at least one encounter with an infinity stone." Steve turned his attention onto everyone. You supposed Vision counted as an encounter.
"Or substitute encounter by being damn near killed by one of the stones." Tony added, shrugging as he sipped on his coffee.
"I haven't." Scott piped in. "I have no clue what the hell you're talking about."
"Regardless, we only have enough pinparticles for one trip each and these stones have been in a lot of different places throughout history." Bruce said, slowly walking around the office.
"Our history." Tony reminded him. "So, not alot of convenient spots to drop in."
"Which means we'll have to pick our targets." Clint muttered. Tony nodded, shooting him the side eye. You cocked a brow when you made eye contact with Tony. Tony simply patted your shoulder.
"Let's start with the ether. Thor, what do you know?" Steve asked, everyones' attention shifting onto the god of lighting. Thor sat in a corner, coke bottle in hand and sunglasses on.
"Is he asleep?" Natasha asked after Thor didn't answer. You stared at him. The last five years had definitely been rough for him.
"Pretty sure he's dead." Rhodes mumbled. You sighed, reaching forward and grabbing a cup of water. You made it turn ice cold before tossing it at the god. Thor jolted awake, looking down at his wet shirt.
"Thor, the reality stone. What do you know about it?" Steve asked again, watching him stand and approach the picture of the reality stone. You listened to Thors' rambling, turning to look at Tony. Scott was the only one interested in what he had to say. Tony approached him, urging him to sit.
"Alright.. Who's next?"
~~~~~~~~~~
You stared at the pictures. Three stones in New York, one in Asgard, and the other two in Morag. You looked at Steve as he approached the hologram.
"Alright, we have a plan. Six stones, three teams. One shot." Steve said. You swallowed, glancing at Rocket and Thor. You had been assigned on their team. Just in case. You stood up with the others, going off to change. You stared at the two pictures in your locker. One of the Barton family and the other of the Stark family. You headed towards the platform after changing, standing beside Thor and Rocket.
"Stay safe." Natasha said softly, giving your arm a squeeze. Steve gave a pep talk before you put your helmet on. You absolutely hated the feeling as you went through what looked like a blue tunnel. When you blinked, you were in Asgard. Thor held a finger up to his lips, passing by a room. You followed, glancing back and seeing his brother. You had never officially met Loki but he was an odd dude. You reached a hall, standing besides Thor. You listened to the women talk in the hall. You shared a look with Rocket.
"There's Jane." Thor whimpered, shaking his head. Rocket sighed.
"Alright.." Rocket hopped off the stone block, looking at you and Thor.
"You're gonna charm her, (Y/N) will be our lookout, and I'll poke her with this thing, get the stone, and we'll be gone." Rocket said, watching Thor. You gave a nod but Thor sniffled.
"I'll be right back. The wine cellar is just down here. My father used to have this huge barrel of ale." You stared at Thor, letting out a sigh as you scratched your forehead. You heard a door opening and quickly ducked besides Rocket.
"Yes, and could you also let me know when Gaia plans on visiting again?" You blinked, feeling your body freeze. You slowly stood, glancing at Thor as he slowly walked down the hall, gaze on the woman.
"Who's the fancy woman?" Rocket asked, hopping onto the stone. You swallowed, turning your head and looking at the woman.
"That's my mother..." Thor answered. Your eyes slightly widened, turning to face Thor. You opened your mouth to ask him a question.
"She dies today." Thor whispered. You shut your mouth, frowning. You licked your lips, gaze flickering around.
"How.. How does she know Gaia?" You asked softly. Thor glanced at you with furrowed brows.
"She was a friend of my mothers'." Thor answered. He looked back at where his mother had been, shaking his head.
"I can't do this." He breathed out, beginning to pant softly. You and Rocket faced him. Rocket told Thor to get closer as Thor rambled. You blinked as Rocket slapped him, almost laughing at the sight of a raccoon slapping a god.
"You think you're the only one who lost people? What do you think we're doing here? I lost the only family I ever had. Same with nature boy over here. I get you miss your mom, but she's gone. Really gone and there are plenty of people who are kind of gone. You can help them. So is it too much to ask that you brush the crumbs out of your beard, talk to the girl, and when she's not looking, suck the infinity stone and help us get our families back?" Rocket stared at him. Thor nodded, a small whimper leaving him as his eyes watered.
"Thor, calm down." You said softly, placing a gentle hand on his arm. "You're the god of lighting, Thor. You can do this."
"Yeah, yeah, I can." Thor nodded. You gave him a small smile, following Raccoon towards the door. You turned, hearing footsteps rushing away. You sighed.
"He's gone." You muttered. Rocket groaned softly.
"You go after him. I'll go get the stone." Rocket said, turning around and walking towards the room.
"I don't know this place." You huffed, looking at the talking raccoon. Rocket let out an exasperated sigh.
"Be my lookout." He mumbled. You walked towards the room Jane was in, watching Rocket enter. You stood infront of the doors, gaze flickering around. You had no idea what you were gonna do if somebody asked you what you were doing. You swallowed, glancing in the direction Thors' mother had gone in.
"He'll be fine." You assured yourself, speedwalking in the direction. You spotted Thor, quietly walking towards him.
"Thor-"
"Shh." He brought up a finger to his lips. Thor grabbed you, keeping you hidden behind the pillar as his mother passed by. She dismissed her girls. You and Thor peeked around the corner.
"What are you doing?" You flinched, letting out a yelp as a woman yelped as well. You turned and faced her, watching her look at Thor. Thor suddenly grabbed you, covering you with his jacket.
"You're better off leaving the sneaking to your brother." The woman said, head tilting.
"What are you wearing? Who is this?" She asked, stepping forward. You swatted Thor's arm away, clearing your throat.
"Uhm, I'm- I'm (Y/N)." You said. Rocket was gonna kill you.
"Frigga." She gave a polite smile. "What are you wearing?" Friggas' brows furrowed, looking Thor over. Frigga slowly approached her son, placing a hand on his cheek. Thor rambled slightly. Frigga smiled softly.
"You're not the Thor I know, are you?" She asked softly.
"Yes I am."
"The future hasn't been kind to you, has it?" She gently brushed some hair out of his face. You watched her, gaze softening. You could see why Thor loved his mother so much. They shared a tight hug, something Thor had desperately needed.
"Let's talk." Frigga smiled. You tuned out as Thor spoke to his mother. You walked around her room, looking over the glass. You licked your lips, looking over at them.
"How do you know Gaia?" You asked softly. Frigga turned to look you curiously.
"Like, uhm, Thor told me but I.. I wanna know more." You said, facing her. Frigga tilted her head, slowly approaching you.
"Gaia? What would you want with her?"
"She's my mother and she.. She kind of abandonded me." You shrugged lightly, letting out a small awkward laugh. Frigga hummed, gaze softening.
"Gaia's in.. It's hard to explain. She's in The Garden. She lives there and it's how she watches over her creations." Frigga explained.
"How do I get there?"
"Fairy rings. Only certain people have access to her portals." Frigga said. You nodded, keeping it in mind. Thor stood, approaching you and his mom.
"Mother, I must tell you something-"
"No, Thor." Frigga turned to face her son, pressing a finger to his lips.
"Mother-"
"Guys!" Rocket shouted, running towards you. "You were supposed to watch the door!"
"I know." You gave an apologetic smile. Rocket shook his head, showing the stone.
"I got it." He breathed out. "Oh, hey, you must be mom."
"I wish we had more time." Thor said softly. Frigga smiled gently, grabbing his hands.
"This was a gift. Now you go and be the man you were meant to be." Frigga said softly. Thor gave her a sad smile.
"I love you, mom."
"I love you." Frigga hugged Thor tightly. She pulled back and smiled. Rocket began to count but Thor stopped him. He extended his hand towards the balcony area. You and Rocket shared a look.
"W-What are we looking at?" He asked.
"It takes a second." Frigga chuckled softly. Thors hammer returned to him, making him beam. You smiled softly as the suit returned.
"Nice meeting you." You said.
"Same here." Frigga smiled, giving a small wave. The helmet came on and you went back through the nauseating blue tunnel. You grunted, shutting your eyes tightly.
"Yeah, fuck that." You muttered, rubbing your forehead. You looked around, noticing Clint fall to his knees with teary eyes.
"Where's Nat?"
Do you believe in the paranormal?
I mean... yes and no? Frankly, I think the best answer is, as it is when it comes to most things, "I don't know." My general outlook is that of a skeptical secular historian, I am the least woo-woo, spiritual, emotional, or ~Magical Feelings person imaginable, and therefore I'm not particularly drawn to it or inclined to believe most of the evidence that claims to support its existence. However, people throughout history have claimed to have some kind of experience with something, and if they're not all lying (which seems highly unlikely), then... who knows? I'm not the kind of self-centered jerk who proclaims that something absolutely cannot be true because it has not yet happened to me, personally. I would not mess with things that I don't understand or that have the power to go wrong, which is my rule of thumb if I ever find myself stuck in a horror movie. Because see again: I don't know, so I'm not gonna be an idiot about it.
After all, despite however many millennia of human history, we still have not a single clue what happens to us after death, so it's understandable that we remain collectively fascinated by the question, and have had various experiences or felt various energies that relate to that. And sure, there are people who are more sensitive to that kind of stuff than others, and it's not like I personally want to run into a ghost, so... better them than me. As I said, it's statistically extremely unlikely that absolutely everyone is lying, even if many so-called paranormal experiences can be explained by ordinary (if perhaps somewhat obscure) physical factors. Sure, there's stuff that hasn't been explained, but that's the case in the entire world, and just because we don't know the answer yet doesn't mean that there isn't one. This is the kind of thinking that, if unchecked, can lead to the conspiracy-theory versions of history, where Ancient Aliens Built The Pyramids and Everything Is Controlled By the Illuminati, which a) ignores the very real evidence and b) promotes the kind of magical-thinking paranoia where everything is the result of unexplainable occult factors and not the actual choices and actions of real human beings. So I'm generally very dubious as a rule. Even if I do absolutely think that opening a mysterious 12th-century lead sarcophagus that was found buried under Notre Dame, as per one of my recent posts, sounds like a great way to get cursed. Definitely falls under my "don't mess with it if you don't know what the hell is going on there" category.
Anyway, here's the story of the only remotely paranormal-adjacent thing that has happened to me personally. One day when I was a kid, one of my dad's business colleagues and his family came over to visit us. We stood outside and chatted for a while, and then they left, entirely uneventfully. Later, my dad told us, as a funny story more than anything, that the business colleague's daughter had asked who "that other man" was. According to her, somebody who looked very much like my dad had come out of the house while we were all talking, stood there watching us for a while, and then disappeared. Obviously, there was nobody there who looked like my dad aside from my dad himself. So was it his mirror-universe self? A pod person? A ghost? But we lived in that house for thirteen years and nothing else weird ever happened, so it's not like it was secretly haunted. So. Who knows.
