I know I kind of hyped up the comic and even the moments with those two. But I actually agree with this assessment.

Mirrorverse Mickey and Minnie were fun, but I was a bit disappointed with the ending as I also felt like the tone shifted, as you mentioned, away from what the other parts were building up to. I also felt like the art style for this part didn't really mesh as well with the previous parts and it kind of took me out of the moment at times with some of the wackier panels. I also was a little disappointed with how Mirror Blot kind of took the backseat when I sort of wished Mickey and him really got to combine their skills to be more of a dynamic duo.

I still hope we can revisit this world again though. I would love to see them explore it a bit more and get something closer to the earlier parts again.

Am I the only one disappointed by the evil Mickey and Minnie in Mirror Christmas?

I mean, look, we're shown footage of Insomniac and Minerva, dark tones, a devilish smile, Blackspot's description of the criminals.

Described as «an extraordinary inventor who commits villainy simply because he can». There are even real examples of his criminal genius - amnesia rain, and breaking into a bank with just one candy.

Minerva is a master of pyrotechnics! A mad genius just like her partner! She is wearing dark boots. And Minerva's bow! It looks like Minnie's bow, but it's worn out because Minerva works with fire!

A message from the villainous couple at the end of the episode. And again, dark tones, those evil crazy smiles!

But in the next episode of Mirror Christmas, we're shown... This.

Elephant and mouse. Yeah, VERY poetic, Mr. Napoleon of Crime.

The lair in bright colors, the bruises under the eyes are makeup (sorry, evil makeup), and Minnie is not holding dynamite, but a bat. Instead of dark boots, classic Minnie shoes. And she is in a long skirt (with flowers!). Is this even convenient?

It doesn't help that episode 4 was drawn by a different artist. The styles are very different, and I didn't take those stupid faces seriously! I'll put a couple of frames next to each other for comparison.

The final fight was kind of ridiculous with button throwing and "sword fighting".

The criminal was knocked out very easily... And Minerva is also silly happy that they got on TV...

And this is a crazy criminal geniu?.. And this is his partner?.. I'm... I'm upset. I wanted to be happy about the new comic, but episode 4 ruined everything for me...

That is, if the first three episodes were dark, tense, with... notes of noir (if I express myself correctly), then the fourth episode looks like some kind of caricature! The tone of the narrative has changed!

How does TV broadcast work in Easthaven ? Do they get regular channels ? If so, does the fog have to work extra hard to keep people from noticing discrepancies between their town and the modern world ? Is it annoyed when they watch TV ? Do big events (sports/politics etc) go unoticed by citizens ?

Easthaven has a teeny tiny radio slash tv station that does local broadcasts. They share stuff like results from last night's high school track meet or when a couple announces their engagement. Local news.

Other than that, there is no TV. Only movies. The citizens of Easthaven could name the president, maybe, but couldn't tell you when an election is. If it's pointed out how weird it is that nobody in town has ever voted in a general election the fog smoothes it over.

For sports, high school and, like, beer leagues would be the extent of people's knowledge. Nobody in town knows what the superbowl is, for example.

When it comes to discrepancies, the fog leads people to assume anything too beyond its scope is made up for the movies. Something like star wars and a movie about modern teens from the 2020s would be seen as more or less equally fictional.

Just movie magic. Aren't people so creative?
