I LIKE the comedy

I LIKE the animation and artstyle

I LIKE the more serious plotlines like the government agents plot and the Cherubs plot

I LIKE the themes of friendship and found family

I even like most of the songs!

And ofc the voice cast slays every time

But just because your show has angst and tears and drama and sad music doesn't automatically make it "good".

Just because your characters are queer doesn't automatically make them good or well written characters

This fandom is so frustrating to deal with when you want to express your more nuanced takes of it

actually like... buck is not christopher's dad. he really isn't. he's helping eddie parent but he's not actually a parent himself. and i think trying to exaggerate buck's place in chris's life for the buddie of it all not only does a disservice to eddie as a father a lot of times but... to the buddie of it all. the fact that buck is not at all chris's dad right now but that chris and eddie are not only unfazed when he does but frequently invite him to touch the boundaries of fatherhood - that eddie says you were there for him when i couldn't be - speaks to the weirdness and all the things about them that they can't really name, and it doesn't really make sense to name it preemptively. buck is not christopher's dad but he wouldn't have to think twice about stepping into that role alongside eddie and eddie would let him - that's what's so insane!

Batman: The Audio Adventures is about two things: goofy-ass worldbuilding and villain monologues. That's it, that's the podcast. Funny Gotham public service announcement, followed by a rogue giving a gay little speech while they literally torture somebody to death, rinse and repeat. And it's awesome.

I personally think that Kikyo would absolutely be thrilled that Illumi found himself a man he wants to marry as strong, handsome and fit to be Zoldyck as Hisoka.

Hisoka is strong enough to be considered an equal to a zoldyck, which means strength is no problem for him. And I don't know about you but the way he assassinated that terradin man that was threatening to reveal illumis identity at the end of the election arc? CHEFS. KISS. THATS A WHOLE ZOLDYCK WIFE RIGHT THERE. And Hisoka is a certain type of fucked up enough to be a Zoldyck, even if he is... mmm.. self aware. Even if he himself thinks zoldycks are a special kind of fucked up. He'd fit.

I always see people make silva and kikyo disagree with illumi marrying hisoka but i soooo heavily disagree. Like what is there NOT to be proud of in Illumi's marriage choice. There is not a single other character IN THE ENTIRE ANIME fit to be Zoldyck than Hisoka Morow and I will fight people on that.

Something a lot of people also don't realize is that the Zoldycks are not a family that discriminates in the slightest (this is a whole discussion on its own but examples are how Kikyo is from meteor city, the butlers are taken from anywhere as long as they have the skill to work and one of the people who attacked kukuroo mountain to hunt the zoldycks now works for them instead. The zoldycks didnt hesitate to hire that mf they fr dont gaf lmfao)

there are soooooooo many misconceptions about the zoldycks in general and i think thats what aids the whole "the zoldycks would HATE hisoka" thing but like. nah. they wouldnt.

I also think about how Kikyo found Silva at such a young age. I bet she was constantly nagging Illumi and asking when he'd get a partner himself. Now he's got it, Millukiiii ITS YOOOURRR TURRNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!

Me desperately trying to find this so-called "bias" it often feels like a solid two thirds of this fandom claim that the HotD producers/writers have towards Rhaenyra when literally every single change to other characters has fundamentally come from minimizing/obfuscating/or otherwise reducing her narrative and overall characterization and character.

Yes, I'm sure this woman who they have invented continual bad decisions, internalized misogyny, blatant disregard for the people closest to her, ineptitude, blindspots, and blatant, borderline unbelievable public disdain for in their adaptation of her character; who's background as a victim of child abuse, of continual misogynistic psychological and eventual physical violence, who's love of both other women and her own womanhood, infamy in her charm and popularity and continual attempts (and yes, often failures) to rise above the positions she was forced into they have also ERASED...is actually someone they're going out of their way to portray sympathetically?

Oh, but they favor her because...idk they haven't shown her being violently raped or repeatedly physically abused? Because you believe they actually think that making her seem like an idiot who never knows or thinks about what she's doing is somehow favorable?? Because it seems like ANY of these changes have actually endeared her to the fandom much less the show's general audience??? I literally cannot explain it most of the time, it baffles me.

I know I shouldn't be because why should any of us ever be shocked by misogyny in media anymore? By the portrayal of a woman for a mass-media (and heavily desired male) audience that's reductive and hollow?? But it's simply unreal to see how so many people somehow believe that this was done out of some sort of benevolence or favoritism. That so many people believe any of the changes made in the opposite direction of, and often active opposition to Rhaenyra's portrayal in Fire and Blood, were made out of some sort of desire to make her a tangibly more sympathetic or broadly understandable character, is something I'm not sure I'll ever be able to fully understand.

Except, of course, in the view that I really hope not everyone who says this sort of thing actually believes; that a self-confident woman who exercises her own agency is such an affront that even an unsympathetic, inconsistent, reductive, and idiotic cardboard cutout of a character is still a more respectable alternative.

i feel like people just don’t get heart break high in the way they’re supposed to? idk like i see people reducing a lot of characters down to single things. i came into s2 expecting certain characters to be evil or horribly annoying because that’s what everyone was saying. for example rowan, sasha or zoe but honestly they didn’t meet any of those expectations for me personally.

yes sasha has some problems and is extremely overcompensating in her attempt to be inclusive and progressive but i feel like this is just something she will learn how to be better at with age? i mean she is a caricature of a chronically online twitter user but i really don’t think anything she did was bad enough for her actress to get that much hate. she definitely needs to learn from her mistakes and get out of her current mindset. especially in how she treated quinni in s1

zoe was not that annoying really. she had opposing opinions to the main cast and was a little rude but i couldn’t care less honestly and also because she’s the ONLY plus size character it really makes me wonder why she is getting so much backlash🙄. i don’t think anything she did is that much worse than some of the fuck ups the main group do.

i see a lot of takes that rowan is “psycho” and that he was just using malakai to get back at amerie and yea we don’t know his motives for sure but it is a really negative view point for a character that’s been canonically proven to suffer from heavy grief and mental illness. he was seeing the world skewed and eventually did realise amerie isn’t to blame for the death of his brother. i don’t think he ever intended to let her and harper die. you could see that he was caught up in his emotions and needed talking down and serious help. i’m not excusing him leaving the birds for amerie but i think his character needs to be treated with empathy and understanding.

i think what amerie said at the end when she was talking to rowan sums it up. they’re just teenagers and a lot of bad things have happened to them. sorry this silly/sometimes serious aussie show has consumed my thoughts

I really love the 2nd translator that Baghera uses. It’s in the corner to supplement for the language the in game translation isn’t covering. (It seems like a better translator too ;-;)

I hope more streamers start using this bc it stays on outside of QSMP too! I’d love to be able to understand more of their non-mc streams that don’t usually have the translator!!

And I don’t mean the live caption some of the QSMP streamers have added bc it’s really clunky especially on mobile :/

Also Baghs’ isn’t just a live thing and is part of the stream for both the streamer and audience so it’s up for vods too. She can switch it when everyone is in English so it translates for her too.

There is something so reassuring when you see that someone made a post or a youtube video about a very niche not at all popular cartoon that for some reason you watched all the time as a kid because your country aired it all the time for some reason and you have so many vivid memories of it and thought everyone else also knows it but you had never seen anyone talk about it ever online. Like, THANK GOD, I didn't just hallucinate or dream this cartoon. That WAS a real show that aired!!! YES, pleaseeee talk about the lore!! And yes, every kids media deserves attention and appreciation, not just *instert whatever cartoon that is popular today*. The weird, obscure or forgotten ones deserve love too. Even if they were bad. Ohhh they definitely were kinda bad sometimes. But also like good, you know?
