What are your opinions on each of the songs? (you can answer with as much or as little detail as you'd like)

Big shocker that the songs from the 2 good episodes are in S and the only one that isn’t is still B tier/sar

The first 2 songs in S made me either tear up/shake violently or cry, and therefore they deserve to be up there IMO. Out for love is also just genuinely catchy and had actual build up to it. Also God “Ready for This” just. OOUGGGHHH IT SCRATCHES MY BRAIN SO GOOD LIKE A WARRIOR CATS MAP. I like it a lot. You cant have multiple characters sing about working together and expect me to NOT cry.

“Stayed Gone” isn’t one I listen to often but it’s so peppy and fast and full of hatred I can’t help but enjoy it. Also everytime the song starts my brain does this

I dont know anything about Welcome Home

I have. Issues. With “Loser, Baby” but aside from those the song holds a lot more weight to it than I usually give it credit for. And for as cheesy as the start if it is, the line before of Angel talking about self destructing resonates with me a lot. Also Husk lays down in a puddle of vomit and no one talks about that ever.

I think the first song in B is “Happy Day in Hell” and I’m adding it there 1. Because it is the first song 2. It gets a reprise thing 3. Charlie almost gets hit by a truck. Other than that it’s not really my favourite but I respect the impact it has.

“Hell is Forever” just fucks. End of story. Alex Brightman killed it.

“Respectless” is good I love Velvette’s VA, but the sudden start of the song and the ending are so out of left field the first time me and my friends watched this show we had to pause cause we lost our fucking minds. Could’ve been better but I’d listen to it again, yeah.

“Hell’s Greatest Dad” is silly and funny and maybe I’m biased as a violin player and jazz enjoyer but a lot of the instrumental tickles my brain so nicely. I will say though it confuses me so much because why does Alastor care about being seen as a father figure?? My mom said it could just be him wanting to show up Lucifer and that’s it but I dunno.

“More than Anything (Reprise)” AKA “Charlie and Veggie Kiss Scene - Hazbin Hotel”

This song sounds like it’s straight out of Barbie & Th Diamond Castle and I’m honestly pissed the girls in the movie didn’t kiss so I’m coping with this. ALSO THE FACT ITS A REPRISED SONG ABOUT LOVE MAKES ME A BIT CRAZY. I never noticed this was the same song Lucifer sang to Charlie SOMEHOW but that’s actually really cute.

“It Starts With Sorry” Has a big part in Sir Pentious’s character growth and just his character in general. I’ve been working on this in my Pentious rant but I never see people mention how much this song probably meant to him. Yeah it’s super corny, but he was fully expecting to be killed and had just been told to kill himself. This was definitely huge for him and I’m not gonna be convinced otherwise.

“You Didn’t Know” is really good but Lute’s part is by far the best and I pray to GOD she gets her own song in S2 her voice actor can SING. GODDAMN! I am very interested in Lute’s character development and I love seeing what people do with close-minded characters like that and hopefully Vivzie doesn’t condemn her to Vivziepop Woman Syndrome. If she isn’t important in S2 I’m going to be pissed but I dunno maybe S3 if we get one.

“More Than Anything” Wish my dad was like this! This song is incredibly sweet and I appreciate it a lot. Honestly might go way higher on the list if I keep thinking about it.

“Whatever It Takes” Sorry you will never be Imagine Dragons. Vaggie doesn’t sound anything like herself cause her VA is making her voice so much more gruff for her character, which is fine! I like her voice (the voice direction is not very good but I digress) it’s just her voice is so high in this I can’t even tell it’s Vaggie.

“Welcome to Heaven” is boring, but we got a Molly cameo!

“Poison”. Read this and this and this. -10/10. I’d rather make out violently with Elon Musk.

Game content wishlist for 2025

twst: riddle's ssr clubwear (i feel like this one guaranteed fulfilment?), ace's older brother face reveal (assuming ace isn't his own older brother)... that's all. In-game wise, anyway. I don't know how plausible it is for twst to produce stage play/musical like other franchises but I'd certainly like to watch them if they do so. Then again, it doesn't seem likely since we'll be getting the long awaited anime adaptation this year... Also, it's uncommon for a voice actor to reprise their role on stage (I can only remember Kuroko from Kuroko no Basketball, both voiced and acted on stage by Ono Kensho), but it'd be fantastic to watch Aiba Hiroki (Vil's), Kazuki Kato (Malleus'), and Itokawa Yojiro (Rook's VA) to keep their roles. Assuming a play/musical does happen though 😅

mhyk: main story update please... Don't make players wait for a whole year just so you milk them dry in the meantime 😭 I feel so hopeless with the way the dev team handles mahoyaku's main story pacing (while in the meantime, the in-game character has been through so much, widening the gap of relationships between main story and event stories to almost an unnatural degree). Better stop here before it turns into a full-blown complaint 😔

aknk: almost nothing, and I mean that in a good way. I'm mostly satisfied with the pacing of contents release and how the developer actively rewards players' loyalty. Voice pack for main episodes, maybe? I feel it's guaranteed in coming though so wishing for it is probably a bit pointless 😂 Oh, a book merchandise would be nice. Novel, comic, character design, whatever it is, I want one (or more) from akuneko, please 🥰

tkrb/bunal: both are dmm games, while differing in contents, the sense of satisfaction they give are similar. No rush, only relaxation (especially true with bunal). As I'm writing this, an announcement of the newest production of the musical has been dropped, featuring a formation of six toudans. Looking at the new cast list, it really does seem that the chance of an actor securing roles both in the stage and the musical is hard, non-negotiable zero percent (unless I'm mistaken?). I wished I could see the musical Juzumaru (if he ever appears in the production) played by Gaku (his stage actor) though...

ymkr: looking forward to the offline version so much ❤️ i miss alex 😭 Kobayashi Yusuke doesn't appear in the other games I play and I sorely miss listening to the calmness of his voice as Chevalier's guild leader

Additionally, I want to try more games in 2025. Tasokare Hotel: Tsubomi is the highest priority on my list, Tokyo Debunker is next. Akuaya and tenaku ended their services before I had the chance to try them out 😭 Apart from that, I had been wanting to try Ensemble Stars, Idolish 7, and A3 for quite some time now, but there's something blocking my motivation to take the final push and just install the damn apps which I know not exactly what. Fear of getting attached to more games... maybe? I don't know. Anyway, that's it for 2025. I don't dare to set up too high of an expectation (even though looking back at what I just wrote, I know most of the things I wished for just me getting ahead of myself 😂)

Oshi no Ko Collabs Part 3

After yapping for two posts (part 1 and part 2) about Oshi no Ko collabs, here is one more to justify my extensive Googling on this.

Since writing the previous posts, I found a Youtube channel I recommend if you're interested in this stuff.

Theme Parks and Onsens

Oshi no Ko has been highlighted at Yomiuriland theme park in Inagi, Seibuen Amusement Park in Tokorozawa which features a recreation of 1960s Showa era Japan, and Toei Kyoto Studio Park in Kyoto which doubles as a film set for historical movies and TV.

I'm partial to the designs used for both Toei Kyoto Studio Park and Yomiuriland. In the Yomiuriland one, I appreciate that they turned Aqua into a furry. Let this boy have hobbies other than revenge.

The most relaxing collabs were surely with Raku Spa and funnily enough the Arima Onsen in Kobe. Below is Megumi Han, Kana's VA, at Arima Onsen. I assume the other people are staff.

Tokyo Giants

Oshi no Ko did a collab with the Tokyo Giants and let me tell you that the resold merch can be pretty expensive. 8,000 yen for an Ai standee? Come on! She's so cute, though. I also love Aqua repping B Komachi. Sir, this is a baseball game, not an idol concert.

Takachiho, Miyazaki

I'm rabid about this event and now have this town on my wish list of places to visit in Japan. Takachiho is of course the birthplace of Ruby and Aqua and B Komachi goes there to shoot a music video.

The town released images of characters at locations in the town, provided guides to tourists, had decorations and even a bus, and sold merch. The coolest merch item has to be the Oshi no Ko goshuincho. This is a stamp/seal book that is proof of pilgrimage to a shrine or temple. You can give it to a shrine attendant who will stamp it with a goshuin, or seal, and write the date and name of the shrine or temple in calligraphy.

The official Takachiho Instagram has posted a fair bit about the event.

It didn't take place during the event, but a fan visited the town and posted photos at locations shown in the anime/manga.

Karaoke

Oshi no Ko and karaoke? Yes. Don't ask me why. There were collabs with karaoke spots Karaoke no Tetsujin and Karaoke Manekineko.

The former gifted us with the girls in wedding dresses. My brain fizzles out and dies seeing Ai like this. TBH I'm not positive that she's the type to wear a full wedding gown but I'm not complaining. She looks happy and is surely in love with someone nice (I volunteered for the job but was turned down) so it makes me happy.

I have no clue why the Manekineko illustrations feature the characters covered in paint but I dig it.

Games

There have be collabs with games The Idolmaster, BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!, Othellonia, and Caravan Stories. As I understand it, this involved special artwork and, unsurprisingly, gacha mechanics. I don't know much about these games but for Idolmaster, Kana, Ruby, and Mem were added as playable characters and there seems to have been a story.

Rhythm game Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, playable on the Switch, also has an Oshi no Ko DLC. The below is simply too funny.

The arcade rhythm game Himitsu no Aipri also collabed with OnK. I believe there are physical cards you can scan in order to get Ai outfits.

And that's all I can think of although I'm sure I missed some collabs and more will come out in the future, especially with season 3. There are other things like Oshi no Ko at Jump Festa and the Strawberry Pro Thanksgiving Event in 2023, but I view these as directly related to the series rather than tie-ins.

What all this goes to show is that Oshi no Ko is popular. A lot more popular than I realized when I started down this track. Also, I have too much time on my hands.

Monthly Update: January 2024

Hello everyone, it's Chattercap! Happy 2024! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Sorry for the belated update, but...I was a little worn out after the New Year, I won't lie!

Gosh, where do I even begin when starting to talk about what I did in December...it was pretty hectic, to say the least. Luckily, I managed to complete the demo of The Deepwater Witch, and it's available now on itch! I also plan on releasing it on Steam in the future.

Now, as for what I needed to do to release that demo...

HURDLE ONE: FINISHING THE SCRIPT

The first thing that I had to do to release The Deepwater Witch was...finish the script? I had completed the first draft, but after receiving beta reader feedback, I found that there were additions that needed to be made. In the first few days of December, I wrote 4500 words, bringing the total of the script to 52k. After receiving additional edits, the script was finalized by December 15th.

HURDLE TWO: DOING THE ART

Heading into the second week of December, I only had a bit of art done. After completing the script, I had revisited the storyboards and basically made entirely new drafts of what art needed to be completed. At that point, I only had sprites and a couple of CG sketches.

From the beginning of December until the 20th, I worked almost exclusively on art, doing 24 backgrounds, 5 CGs, and an additional sprite during that timeframe. It was BUSY, but it was well worth it! I'm happy with how all of the assets turned out.

HURDLE THREE: ...EVERYTHING ELSE???

Heading into the last week of December, I was faced with the daunting task of...doing everything else. Up until this point, I was cool as a cucumber, but I started to panic a LITTLE here.

If you've been following my development up until this point, you'll know that I made the switch from Unity to Godot a couple of months ago. I had done...about 50% of the work that was needed on the engine before pausing to finish TDW's script. So not only did I have to implement core features (things as simple as saving and loading), but I also had to make sure I added polish - a nice looking GUI, animations, and the general polish that I want people to be able to expect from my games.

Here is a non-existent list of what I did from the 22nd of December onward:

BGM/SFX/VA functionality

Mute function

Flexible 2D animation controls

CG management (+ idles, animations)

Sprite management (+ idles, animations, positioning)

Dynamic dialogue layouts

Expression popups.

Credits screen.

Screen shake.

Story flags.

GUI functionality (page toggles, buttons, etc.)

Designed and implemented all GUI.

Save/Load.

Save screenshot function.

Chose and implemented BGM and SFX.

Annotated the script with BGM, SFX, story flag, sprite, CG, expression, and background tags.

Playtesting.

WHAT'S NEXT?

The next thing that you can expect from me is an updated version of MacOS version of The Deepwater Witch. I understand that there are some security issues with the current build (as Apple is very strict when it comes to unauthorized applications), and so I've decided to pay for an Apple Developer License. My application was already processed and approved, so I should be releasing that version in the next few days. You will still receive a pop-up notification alerting you that TDW is not from the App Store, but hopefully it lets you open it without any further hassle.

After that, I plan to release the full version of The Deepwater Witch. Almost everything is done besides some coding and art, and I expect to release it around late January/early February. Following that, I have two projects that I have planned for early spring!

okay. favorite shadow moments. be warned that on top of being a kinnie in general i just really really like shadow so. this list is a little on the obnoxiously long side. this probably isn't everything ever but it's everything i could think of

Sonic Adventure 2

when eggman released him and he somehow just knew (likely due to being raised by his grandfather) that his best bet was to go fantastical and promise to grant him a wish for releasing him like some sort of fucked up little genie

in the story recaps shadow recounts the hot shot battle as him destroying it "like a toy" in one of the best line deliveries any VA for shadow has ever given. kirk thornton wishes he could sound that malicous

when he's standing on the bridge and the sirens trigger him in the first time we see his PTSD in action and it's genuinely really good. i've mentioned this before but shadow is written shockingly well as a character with post traumatic stress disorder. i especially like that his most common trigger (outside of the general presence of children) is related to the environment of the event rather than something like screaming or gunshots, they could have done that and it would have been fine but he's so much more realistic due to them avoiding that cliche. anyways

when shadow and sonic meet, shadow says "there's no time for games", essentially confirming that the minute or so beforehand was entirely shadow fucking around and having fun messing with sonic. that was playing, he was playing just then

i like when amy mistakes him for sonic and he just stands there like he has no idea how to respond to nonagressive physical contact. because he probably doesn't

i love how he's always standing ABOVE sonic when they interact. little cunt

david humphrey's delivery of "so let's get this show on the ROAD!!"

more recap stuff, when he's going after tails he sounds genuinely unsettled by pumpkin hill. which makes sense because this is likely his first time seeing much of the outside world but it's funny

"IIII DON'T THINK SO."

when he says that fulfilling marias wish is the "only thing that matters to me now" in a resigned tone that makes him sound almost like he wished he had something else to feel or live for but ultimately felt as if everything he could have ever thought of as a reason to keep existing was left behind on the ARK 50 years ago. this is one of the reasons i think shadow benefited from losing his memories

his he cries. his crying. let it out

this is going to sound convoluted but hear me out: supporting me has some lyrics that i think are really important to shadow as a character and many of them illustrate the idea that shadow was planning on dying in the fight to save earth the entire time. why do i like that? i do not know. i like tragedy

the lyrics in shadows music are ALL really wonderful and indicative of his mental state throughout the game. i think my personal favorite is "I'm shivering with cold, I struggle against despair" there's just something about that that feels so tangible and sad for him

Sonic Heroes

opening cutscene where rouge finds him and he awakens and we just get this shot of his eyes as they open and we hear this low electronic groan and shiro maekawa just knows how to compose a scene so that it's as cool as possible

also we learn so much about shadows nature (vs the nurture of gerald we saw in sa2) from this scene alone wherein less than a second after waking with no memory of anything at all about anything he saw someone in danger and instantly sprung into action to help

NOBODY but me seems to have noticed this but when rouge confronts the chaotix for no reason shadow nods his head (and shakes it) in agreement with her even though he has no idea why these people need to be fought or who they even are. again we learn so much more about who shadow is at the actual core of his personality in heroes

"is that so? well then, it'll be a date to DIEEEE for"

i LOVE how solid shadows sense of identity is like people mistake his anxiety over not having his memories for having no idea who he is at his core but at every turn he reaffirms that he IS shadow the hedgehog no matter WHAT the truth about him is and that will always be an absolute. and we see that in heroes too

when you get a bad rank he shouts "what's WRONG with me????"

Sonic Battle

chaos nightmare attack. named my blog after it. very pretty sprite and the "HAH!!" sound i love also

i'm sorry i know its cheesy but calling something nearly impossible and then saying "i'll take those odds" is so cool to me. YEAAAA

he winces as he's having a trauma flashback in the opening cutscene...

it's very minor but when black doom is trying to get shadows attention after disobeying him and he mentions the professor it takes shadow like 4 whole seconds to process it and react

i do also like that he describes his own name as haunting him

USES IT/ITS PRONOUNS IN SELF-REFERENCE

shadow has a lot of parallels with metal sonic in this game, as if the events of heroes really had an impact on him. the lyrical parallels between i am all of me and what i'm made of are the most obvious, but my attention is also drawn to shadow in some routes choosing to begin an android uprising, almost as if he's following metal's example.

i love when the professor is giving his speech to shadow and shadow looks on in amazement and the shot is so wonderful and it really shows off just how gorgeous the shth/heroes models were

shadow really really cares about maria even when he genuinely cannot remember anything about her. he knows he's glad that she's safe when he helps her. he knows he would have traded his life for hers even when he can't remember who she was to him. the feelings he has still remain etched into his mind even when their subjects have faded and been erased, it's part of why he was so stressed about his memory loss in the first place, it's part of what made it so easy for black doom to manipulate him

i like griffiths evil laughter it's very nice

Sonic 06:

we so rarely see chaos control used to stop time (we usually only see it used for teleportation, the other way you can utilize the ability) and its so delightful to see him use it like this just to step behind silver and kick him clean in the back of the head. he didnt even need to do that he was just showing off

duude when mephiles is trying to get shadow on his side and starts telling him that he has every right to want justice and punishment for humanity and shadow refuses because he's heard it all and felt it all before and is now completely over it....

i like how shadow's attachment to omega is explored a bit here what with how deeply hurt he is to realize that omega is the one who captures him and how hesitant he is to leave him behind when he sees him in the future deactivated

he's actually really helpful in this game all around but i think it's nice that he jumps in to save sonic from silver literally just to do him a solid. we don't really get to see sonic and shadow help eachother out very often anymore

also he saves rouge instead of pursuing the scepter

Sonic Chronicles

his whole character motivation at first is just that he thinks his friend omega might be hurt and missing somewhere and he's scared for him and when they find omega broken down and damaged eggman insults him and shadow acts like he's going to rip the doctors limbs off for it

also when they reactivate omega and he tells the story of what happened to him shadow is soooooo fucking angry he loves his friend so much. i love shadow in this game sorry we never get to see him so nice and cool anymore god. losing my mind sorry

if you argue with shadow and assume he's evil and out to betray you he literally gets offended like "of COURSE we're on the same team, why would i want to see the world destroyed??"

i love the entire scene of him chasing down cosmo and tails its like a horror movie. shadow loves to be in horror movie put him in the scary hallway

his reaction to molly's death is so real and devastating again i just like tragedy

really all of sonic x is better in its original japanese than the 4kidz english dub but the english script line "don't talk to ME about what's fair! not after what happened here!" is one of my favorite shadow lines ever

Sonic Prime

i like how you can see shadow progressively becoming less patient with sonic as he tries to communicate with him across realities. we went from "its all broken! i'm lost in the void, you have to keep moving!" to "KEEP GOING!!!!! DO NOT STOP." its so funny he's so right for how pissed he is in this show

i like how he rarely ever sits down. i just think thats a fascinating character detail. even in boom he outright says he'd rather stand. what is his problem

there aren't a whole lot of parts of the twitter takeovers that i really really like for any of the characters but especially not shadow. however when he lists all of the things he thinks are wrong about sonic but follows up by saying that he DOESN'T hate him it really helps illustrate how shadow thinks

there's a part in the books i think is really funny where shadow loses a device he needs to rescue sonic so badly that he couldn't find it anywhere and he's just like. Great

Finally watched Trigun Stampede.

It is glorious. Exactly what I wanted in all the ways that matter to me. Studio Orange brought their heart and souls to sculpting this series into a masterpiece of colors and animation of the most sublime quality. The redesigns of some of the characters left me awestruck.

My mom made a few points that the animation reminded her a lot of the movie "Treasure Planet" several times. She also really likes the opening intro and noted, "It feels like the intro to a James Bond movie."

To be completely honest, I really do still wish they had gotten Jeff Nimoy to voice Wolfwood again. I first fell in love with Trigun through his depiction of Wolfwood. (Yes I first got into Trigun when it was first airing and proceeded to grab each manga volume as they released I am that old) But the first few full lines this new VA did convinced me he was a perfect match for this depiction of this character. Also, the VA for Knives absolutely just blew my mind with how sublime he is at portraying malice and that 'this dude be crazy psycho' aspect. Roberto is also perfect for the story in the role he fills narrative wise. My mom agreed with me that he is a needed change that made the episodes flow with more focused punch.

Also, bonus points for giving Legato the same styled haircut as Child Vash. I did see that and I knew why the second it clicked. Also. Melanie is perfect and I seriously do want to see her in the actual story if or when season 2 gets made.

Getting a Trigun OVA made by a sublime quality studio has been at the top of my bucket list for almost two decades. But Trigun Stampede is more than I ever hoped and prayed for. Everyone who was a part of bringing this series to the fans, I am so thankful to you for your hard work and effort. I lift each one of you up in prayer to the Lord that you feel the gratitude and self accomplishment of creating such priceless art and story to life. If this is all we get, I will simply say thank you very much.

Vash the Stampede has actually gotten me through my most depressing moments and life altering trials. I know I would not be here today if it wasn't for the manga and these characters getting me to see tomorrow as a blessing and to value who I am and what I have already survived.

Trigun Stampede is a fantastic addition to this series. Please give it a full watch. I do suggest reading the manga first. To kind of prepare a newcomer to the serious tones and grit. The original anime is a classic and I love it a lot. But it is more silly and lighthearted than the other two. So do take that into account.

OK, so I am VERY behind. We had a death in my fiancé's family, so we've been busy getting ready for the funeral.

12. Worst Villain

I'm a Riya hater, sorry not sorry. I don't care for the whole villain arc and how the writers tried to make us sympathize with her — i.e. looking at the cameras with some very big sad eyes when she threw Connor off a LITERAL HORSE. I do appreciate that she won All-Stars, cause it wouldn't have made sense for her arc to be 'super big villain stuff' and then lose twice in a row. Her ending was fitting. That was her best writing of the All-Stars season.

13. Most Overrated Character

Don't get me wrong here, I really like Lake's character. But I've seen a lot of those tier lists and those posts about 'who should've been in the All-Stars final three' and damn-near everyone puts Lake. I thought her arc in Season 2 was done so well. I was kind of surprised when she came back in All-Stars because of her S2 journey. She was essentially 'canon fodder' because they needed someone for an early boot — and I was OK with that. Her story was done in S2. She didn't need super fleshed out in S3, in my opinion.

Great character, though, and I absolutely adore her re-design!

14. Most Underrated Character

I think the first time I watched Disventure Camp Season 1, I didn't really appreciate Lill. Watching it back, I really like her character. I like how she got the alliance with herself, Will, Nick and Ashley going, and how she maneuvered around the Fiore fake-innocent-child act. I wish we saw more of her, I really enjoyed her character.

15. Best Team

I mean, come on, Magenta team literally had 2 people in the Final 3, and on top of that, two more members from Magenta were helpers since they found the totems — or, in James' case, it fell on his lap! Either way, with James' early boot, that was going to happen regardless since he was the S2 winner. But that legit bolsters the legitimacy of Magenta being the best team.

This team was full of rock stars. No joke.

16. Worst Team

Ellie said it perfectly in the post-game media interviews she did: "The purple team was a mess." Not my favorite by any means. Oh, and to add more flame to the fire... Nick is one of the worst DC characters of all time, and he's on this team, so...

17. Best Song (& 18. Worst Song... Because there is None)

I was REALLY surprised with how much I liked this song, and equally as surprised with how impressed I was with the voices in this song. Tom's VA (Jayce Hanson), Gabby's VA (Anna Grygorowicz) and Ellie's VA (Rachel Flakes) really impressed me with their sounds. I had a feeling Aiden's VA (Viester) could sing, but man, his voice is SO GOOD. I love hearing the Aiden-singing greetings so much. Viester really has a beautiful voice!

Also, I absolutely adore Magenta Team's song 'Born to Drive Me Crazy' and Yellow Team's song 'No Matter How Hard We Try." There is not a single bad song, so that answers question 18, too!

✧ Diluc Ragnvindr | Ben&Ben - Araw-Araw

• It’s apparent that Diluc can sing since he won first place in the music minigame. He was taught at a young age on playing and dabbling in the arts like any other young noble should. It comes as no surprise that Diluc knows how to sing and play.

• It was you who had to tell Diluc this tradition when the Windblume Festival hits. When hearing the prospect of reciting poetry to your loved ones, you immediately got excited, which made Diluc question your sudden excitement.

• “Back where I’m from, there’s a tradition where a person will sing to their crush if they want to court them. It’s usually underneath a window sill but either way, I do want to experience it at least once!”

• He imprints the sight of your soft smile at the memory of the tradition. He thinks back on his time learning music as he cleans a beer glass. He’s not a bad singer by any means (ngl i thought diluc was voiced by jonah scott bc hoo boy he sings. but imagine my surprise when he was voiced by mishima skks). He can definitely carry a tune but would he risk his entire dignity by singing under your window sill with a song that he barely knows?

• If Kaeya wasn’t there, then maybe. Maybe.

• So he opts for the next best option; serenading in a private and romantic place. It wouldn’t be the Dawn Winery, there is too much traffic to try and attempt to sing. Windrise is an option but Diluc knows that the sisters of the church comes and cleans the statue (and Barbatos knows that he doesn’t want Barbara to faint from his voice). His next bet is Starsnatch Cliff, where numerous Cecilia flowers are littered across the cliff. 

• With that plan, he now attempts to memorize a song from your country. Diluc’s a fast learner, so he has no trouble learning the notes, the lyrics (though his pronunciation leaves little to be desired), and finally, the emotion carried through the music. Now that’s where he struggled since he doesn’t know how to convey emotion compared to other musicians. He tries his best, even asking Venti for help (enrolled is what Venti would use but at least he was paid with the best alcohol).

• Now to actually play the damn thing. He already struggled when inviting you out to Starnsatch Cliff (and bribing the couple that was there away), he hopes that his fingers wouldn’t twitch from nerves. It was when he began strumming his guitar that he realized something: there was no point in proving that he can sing. There was no point in learning a different language when there were many other different things he could’ve done to impress you. There was no need to potentially embarrass himself.

• But it was worth it when he sees your wide-eyes, your parted lips, and the warmth on your cheeks when he leans in closer. It’s worth it to see your eyes shine just like the stars in the sky when you understood the lyrics. It was worth it to see you say the words that Diluc longed to hear from your lips as he sealed them with a kiss.

✧ Albedo | Ben&Ben - Ride Home

• I think it’s safe to say that everyone knows Albedo can sing when his VA posted him singing. He can carry a tune and play decently on the strings. It’s just that he closes himself off in his research in Dragonspine all the while the Windblume Festival is in full swing. It’s not like you to leave someone behind while everyone is celebrating so you stand by Albedo for the duration of the festival.

• He says that you didn’t have to keep him company, more so if you don’t know anything about alchemy, but you were adamant to not leave the alchemist alone. Albedo can’t help the warmth fluttering in his heart that you wanted to stay with him. He wanted to try and teach you basic alchemical stuff so you wouldn’t feel bored or left out but he feared the shakiness in his voice would hinder him.

• So, you two talk about each other instead. While Albedo didn’t have anything noteworthy to talk about, you said to him about how you wished you can partake in the music game in hopes to play a love song. You told him that you wanted to try and sing a love song to your crush since it was a tradition in your country. While he bristled at the fact that you have a crush, the way your eyes flitted towards him, with a wavy smile on your face solidified his feelings for you.

• Having that information in mind, he quickly makes a harp out of the materials he has on hand. Such a feat is nothing to Albedo but it wasn’t the music that he was afraid of, it was giving his feelings away to you so suddenly. Learning a new language wasn’t so hard (because he learned it when he immediately realized he had feelings for you, what’s stopping him from learning everything?), but he fears that you may take it the wrong way.

• Or rather, he fears that he may do something he regret towards you.

• But he perseveres. When you were up sitting on a rock formation, studying a rare flower, Albedo stood below you, harp in hand. The sight of him, his beautiful eyes that were used to be so sure are now nervously flitting from side to side. His voice was carried out to the wind, deep and soothing just like the winds that caressed your skin. Albedo is nothing short of nervous but he was sure that he had his point across when he sees your blushing smile.

• All fears vanished when you jumped down a giggling mess, saying that this was the best Windblume Festival ever when you leaned in and kissed him.

✧ Kaeya Alberich | Ben&Ben - Pagtingin

• Kaeya won’t deny that he’s just as musically inclined as Diluc. As siblings, they’re naturally competitive against one another, always competing to see who can play the better piece. He wishes he could go back to those days, but bygones are bygones. Now, he strums his harp just for fun. Still, he’s not one to serenade to random strangers so it’s a first time for him to be laying his heart out in the open.

• Kaeya, like a responsible captain, steals you away and joins in the festivities with you with an arm around your waist. Reluctantly, you humored him, as you recount previous stories that you’ve experienced. One particular story that he keeps in memory was when you were serenaded once in your own bedroom window. While you had to turn down the one courting for personal reasons, you can’t help but feel warm whenever you remember the memory. Ever since hearing the bards’ sing their songs for the festival, you can’t help the flutter in your heart.

• Now, Kaeya is a very adaptable man, so he quickly thinks the best way on how to confess to you. Sometimes he has to curse himself from being so successful at flirting at absolutely everyone that he knows you could pass it off as being Kaeya. So he figures out the next best thing.

• Now, unlike Diluc, he’s willing to throw away his dignity for you. He’s willing to throw anything away from you because you were already so etched deeply in Kaeya’s heart.

• He’s a fast learned like Albedo, so it wasn’t hard to learn your language and do the correct pronunciation. All that’s left is to sing it and where. He hopes he could sing it underneath your balcony but you lived near the Cat’s Tail Tavern, where the noise has been raucous in this time of year.

• So he decided on going to the safety of your home, “drunkenly” stating that he was too sloshed to go back to his duties so he wishes to stop by your home until he sobers up. It wasn't an uncommon sight to see, so you relented Kaeya in resting on your couch as you prepared some water for him to sober up. At that moment, he prepares his act. 

• With his guitar in hand, he stands up and meets you in the kitchen. With his fingers elegantly strumming against the strings, his silky voice permeated across the house. His one eye watched your own widen at the sight of the man singing. He relished it even more when he sees the recognition in your eyes when you know the song that he's singing. Each lyric has been beautifully sung and amazingly enunciated that you wondered if Kaeya was a native to your homeland. 

• Kaeya wasn't normally a sap like this. He doesn't just do this to anyone. He even wonders what's the point of this when he doesn't even know that you'll accept him for who he truly is-for what he will do when things go awry. He recounts the words of a bygone father and he feels every ounce of sin he’s committed claw his back.

• But your gentle touch sends them away. Your hands burn the sins to ashes as you told him your ‘I love you’ in your language. And he understood it perfectly.

You watched in confusion when he summoned a lyre (and you could make out a scowl on his face, as if he was cursing the instrument) and soon, he began strumming it.

• His harp skills... could do some work. Some tone-deaf bard might have bawled his eyes out if he hears him play, but he was willing to swallow that embarrassment when he gets to have his point across. He hopes that he does, laying his heart like this just for you to take apart, for you to heal, for you to do whatever you want with it. He was willing to be weak and revere to you as someone as grand as an archon. 

• Xiao wasn’t expecting you to understand but when he sees tears in your eyes and your hand covering your mouth, he immediately stopped his singing and hurried to your side. Though, he didn’t have to. You already jumped down and got caught in his arms. He felt your tears soak his skin, your incoherent babbles muffled by his shoulder but he could make out that Xiao’s feelings aren’t one-sided.

folks, let me take you on the little adventure I just had.

so Ghost’s US tour dates came out. the show in Providence, RI, at the Dunkin Donuts Center on September 12th, would be the closest to me. so I scroll down to check the presale tickets, right?

instead of being listed at the Dunkin Donuts Center, it simply says “Dunkin’, Centreville, VA”. ‘okay,’ I think. ‘maybe they just made a little mistake.’ I go to check the ticket site, and it says the same thing, this time with an address. it occurs to me to check said address (Dunkin’, 14631 Lee Hwy, Centreville, VA, 20121)

you know what that address is?

i see you saying Mina is a lesbian and is in love with Lucy and I GET IT. but you are missing the mark just a little. Mina is a POLY BISEXUAL ICON and is in love with Lucy AND Jonathan. when we get in a little later and see Mina and Jonathan actually interacting in person you will understand. they are head over heels for each other and it is so cute. 

Lucy is also poly and bisexual. she literally has a line in a few days that’s the most hasn’t-realized-she’s-poly shit ever.

K: a THIEF??? you give me HEIST??? i studied art history in college, and got very focused on art crime and museum security and made several professors quite anxious, so the first time I played 2 and recruited her, she immediately soared to the top of my fave list

K: i will die for you. i wanted to see more of her in 3. i wanted to heist the casino with her. extremely in love, forever and always, and if i wanted to punish myself and make another shepard it'd be to romance her

T: shattered. one of the most deeply romantic LIs out there imo. watching him come alive again. unrecoverable. i'll forever love him. also hes hot as fuck lemme lick him. he didn't die, he blasted kai leng in the face the second he leveled his pistol. i will also go to my grave foaming at the mouth what they did to him

S: wife. omg please benchpress me. the first time i played and had that conversation post-thorian and its like oh. you're badass as fuck. a commando and studied for centuries w benezia? AND THEN SHE FLIRTS W YOU IN 2 AND THERE IS NO OPTION FOR FOLLOW UP???? i thought about that scene all the time. and with the next couple playthroughs, every time i got to see her i was like. oh no youre even prettier. oh no you're even cooler. and now its just terminal brainrot. god i wish we couldve recruited her/romanced her. that would have been mad dope. thank god i am sometimes capable of writing fic

FAVORITE MOMENT

K: ohhhh a toughie. it feels like a cop out to say all of them, but her VA does such a damn good job bringing so much personality into her lines so like even going and checking in on her between missions was a delight to hear her comment on squadmates. that heist was so good tho. hoot every time she jumps on the jet and gives hock that jaunty wave. WHAT A BABE!!! i also love when she goes HAha while in combat

T: when he finally talks about irikah and kolyat. it felt so special and intimate to learn about them. and when he cries before kissing shepard. yes.

S: when shE FLIRTS IN 2 OASIFHLJISUDH but seriously when shes free of the thorian and says she wants to help the colony in recompense. that. meant a lot to me. also i watched the renegade version on yt and the fact that she'll just. let shepard kill her without a fight.... that...... ow

IDEA FOR A STORY

K: well. i've got several fics in the works for her w mercy shepard

- new orleans heist

- vinny (the first man kasumi kills)

- ANDERSON NEVER ARRESTS MERCY AU: CRIMELORD MERCY SHEPARD where kasumi is their right hand, and eventually they end up on the trail of saren. alternate recruitment of squadmates >:)

T: i've got a google doc titled cleaning supplies which um. has been the filth i've been posting in chunks. the other fic for him that i just have a barebones bit is hurt/comfort after mercy visits alchera, beginnings of a romance between them. and of course, sports coach au that i will absolutely start actively writing once i've gotten a couple more "essential" mercy fics done

S: i am working on stellan and shiala's first in-person date after the war, inspired by you, the powerful @yellingaboutmasseffect, where they do the floating howl/sophie walk. and then i like to play around with a full-on howl's moving castle shepala au, that i'd probably post scenes from, rather than any sort of longfic. and im still writing very married sleepy fucking. um. yeah. that's almost complete

UNPOPULAR OPINION

K: i will never regret she's there because she makes my life worthwhile, but why was kasumi recruited in the first place?? she's a thief, not a murder powerhouse

T: can't be considered a dilf til kolyat forgives him and even then, hun, you've got a lot of work to do for your kid (which, he does, of course. but it can't be ignored that thane just. abandoned his child)

S: i think she would've made a more fun companion than liara

K: i thought the one she had with the spectre jondam bau was fun. i'd write them going on an interrupted heist-turned-date. or a slow burn enemies to lovers thing. if i had time. i also love that kasumi and samara hang out, referenced in 2

S: i would love to read about shiala studying under benezia, and then the curdling relationship has soverign's indoctrination worms between them. to her being sacrificed to the thorian. and then her learning the death of her teacher. like. there's a lot there and it hurts my feelings when i think about it. love that for me :)

FAVORITE HEADCANON

K: her grandmama. i have her as a badass cat burglar that raised kasumi as not only a beloved grandchild, but also her protege. powerful woman. also cared for mercy, but she dies when kasumi is seventeen

S: she's absolutely ripped. i know it. you know it. we all know it. i like the idea that she's both beefy and intellectual. and in my shepala-rotted brain, she's got a real talent for growing flowers :')
