The answer to how many accidental crimes he's committed is: a handful. Mostly, he gets into a bit of trouble when he goes into town unsupervised.

How does he have a clean record? Crewel is a very smooth talker.

The kidnapping took place when he was possessed. It took a lot of effort to keep that from becoming a problem.

Oh man, I know Leona would be pissed if the human laughed at him while Divus scared him into that tree! I'd be on the floor, I just know it!

Leona would absolutely be furious and embarrassed, not knowing how to handle his frustration. Divus' 13ft (396cm) self is only encouraged by his pup's laughter and will torment Leona for longer than he needs to before sniffing over his Pup to make sure they are safe. His whiskers tickle quiet a bit. His sharp cone teeth can be intimidating when he is angry, but he looks so soft and is so squishy in his seal form it is hard to remain scared of him when he is so gentle with the Human. For all those other mongrels, however, he will not hesitate to put them in their place.

In Crewel’s Rich Fur Coat vignettes, Grim blames Yuu for something that he did to avoid incurring the teacher’s wrath.

TO MY UTTER SHOCK, two mob students actually speak up to defend Yuu. This is huge because mobs are typically portrayed as instigators or bullies, especially early on in the main story.

One tells Grim to not blame Yuu and that it’s bad to lie. The other one straight up declares that it was Grim who is responsible for the mess. Now, while the latter goes on to say that Grim blaming others will get the rest of them into trouble too (implying that the mobs are only defending Yuu for selfish reasons/to avoid being punished themselves), I still appreciate this little moment 😭
