♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon

Jaz: Jaz has too much energy to stay still for a long time, she will always be out and about either working out, exploring, playing the drums, surfing... whatever to get her energy out. When she's running and tired of listening to music, she has a plethora of true crime podcasts on her phone to choose from.

Leon: Leon used to be a regular on leftist demonstrations until 1) he got himself arrested when things got a *little* out of hand and 2) the label told him to knock the activism off - both personally and creatively. Not wanting to hurt the trajectory they were on at the time, Leon complied. Nowadays, he mainly occupies himself with - surprise - any form of music.

Mara: In every city they go to, Mara takes every chance to sneak away from the others to explore historical and/or abandoned sites to soak in the atmosphere and practise her photography there. Also, she likes romance novels, the cheesier the better (but you didn't get that from me. It's a secret. Shhh.)

Mel: Mel is renowned for not allowing anyone to take their food spicier than she does. Can she handle it? No. Does that matter to her? Absolutely not.

Ev: His favourite things outside of music are motorbikes. His second favourite thing are splatter movies - the gorier the better.

Kris: Kris (literally) grew up on the beaches of Australia's west coast. According to him, he could surf before he could walk. According to Jaz, that's a gross exaggeration but who believes her anyway.

✿ - Sex headcanon

Jaz: It's no secret Jaz loves a good shot of adrenaline and when it comes to sex, she's no different. Places you're not supposed to be, a bit of risk, some sneaking around, fear of getting discovered... it adds just the right edge to the fun, in her opinion.

Leon: Leon is all here for sensual experiences. May it be ice cubes, feathers, blindfolds, substances... whatever enhances the senses, he's all in.

Mara: Even though she sometimes feels like the odd one out in her band, Mara doesn't particularly like one-night stands. She's not prudish or anything, but she prefers to build a connection first before she goes any further.

Mel: Mel is a natural performer to the core, and it carries from the stage into the bedroom. She loves a good (or bad) roleplay, and it happened more than once that she got so into it that sexy time ended in fits of giggles and laughter. But who's to blame? Her girlfriend is hot when she laughs.

Ev: Ev is used to having the upper hand, or pretending to have the upper hand, so in the bedroom he's happy to cease control from time to time. He will not ask for it though. He will never ask for it.

Kris: Kris is as relaxed as they come and easily pleased. He's not much into games, however, and prefers to meet his partner at eye level. Some may call it boring but he's yet to complain. Or have someone else do it.

Had a bad day, cried a little, made some chickpea curry, realised I have no more chocolate and got very upset about it, wrote the first chapter of Icarus... a regular Sunday in Kaze City, I guess.

Oh wow, I *love* this picture you paint of Sebastian here, as grim as it might be. What a strong comparison, amazing!

I still haven’t returned to fanfic, so have a snippet of my first draft Icarus (which turns into more and more of a mess and, for once, it isn’t even because of Ev. Help.)

Whenever he thought back on his backstage time with Active Pursuit, it didn’t take long for the small sachet hidden on the bottom of his bag to push back into his thinking either. He shoved it there the moment he was first alone after Johnny had pressed it into his hand and had tried and failed to forget about it ever since. It called to him, beckoned him with whispers about how great he’d been at Athens; he could have this again any moment he chose to. All he needed was one dose, tiny, not even a big one.

Ev let it call and went about his day but the harder he tried not to think about it, the more prevalent the thought became. He thought about it often, so often in fact, that the voice inside his head told him to take the coke just to have it gone.

He told it to shut up and went about its day.

He didn’t help to perform. He didn’t need Rich telling him how to work his crowd, he didn’t Leon lecturing him how to sing his songs, and he sure as hell didn’t need drugs to show the world that Athens hadn’t been exceptional but the baseline of what he could do, the bare minimum, the starting point.

Proving this to anyone who doubted him had turned into an obsession so, night after night, Ev went above and beyond on stage. The constant stress on his voice and body were soon beginning to show; he had trouble falling asleep at night and not even the drinks and the increasingly more random sex after their shows helped calm his system down. He lay awake far into the small hours, wired up by doubts about the parts he’d fumbled, the notes he’d missed and the cues and interludes that had been awkward rather than smooth.

‘You look like, shit, son, if you don’t mind me saying so.’ Rich watched him closely over the rim of his coffee cup. ‘Another bad night, huh?’

Ev shrugged and put another spoonful of sugar into his mug. Like white dust, it trickled from the silver curve reflecting his upside-down features. ‘Had better ones.’

‘Is anything wrong with your bunk? Want me to speak to the driver?’

‘I’m fine,’ Ev almost-snapped. ‘What makes you think otherwise?’

Something's Wrong: Casey's POV

I like to think Cass and Leo would get along well after a while! Casey grew up in a cult clan that views emotions as weakness, and weakness can get you killed. Leo learned to hide his own emotions so as not to worry anyone, and instead bases his personality around their two biggest TV idols. Their masks are near flawless, built up from years of practice, but it's a lot easier to see through a mask when you have one of your own...

Also, a bit about COI Cass: She had parents as a little child that treated her as such. She was read fantasy books and was fascinated with adventures and knights and dragons. Then those parents died, and she was brought into the Foot to be a soldier. There, she was taught that dragons were ruthless monsters that deserved to be extinct. It never really sat well with her, but y'know. This was her new family, afterall. Her new purpose. No matter how poorly she was treated.

KID ICARUS; RE:UNION - VIRIDI REDESIGN

Been a second! but back to post my redesign for Goddess of nature Viridi!

Gonna be honest, I do like her OG design a lot - and the staff she has in insane - but I do wish people were a lil bit more chill with her features! I like the idea of her outfit potentially transitioning with the seasons but I'm not fully sure how to flesh that one out yet!

I do like that she becomes a supporting antagonist to Pit in his efforts to save Palutena and I'd like to think after the wholesale destruction of the Uprising - she maintains a steadfast approach in trying to make the world better her way - with Dark Pit as her Emissary.

Icarus and the Suns

[DEMO TBA – August at latest]

Genre: mythology inspired adventure romance

Summary:

Five years ago you and your father were imprisoned in a tower for a crime he committed against the crown. But, on the eve of your long-awaited escape, an unexpected visitor arrives – your goddess mother, a figure who you've never met before. A shocking request falls from her lips, and suddenly you're travelling across a steampunk world based loosely on ancient Greece, with the help of two and a half sun gods who want to find your missing cousin.

Gameplay:

Customise your version of Icarus, including their name, appearance, and stats

Choose between five different goddesses to be your character’s mother, altering what abilities they have

Build relationships with each of the characters, deciding how you feel about them and their pasts

Rescue your cousin and prevent (or aid) a brewing rebellion against the Olympian gods.

Characters:

Helios Panoptes [RO, he/they] The old star

The golden-eyed Titan representing one of the world's two suns. Though Helios is only officially a solar deity, many also consider them to be a war god and rumours have been spreading that he's trying to get back into the swing of battle.

Apollo/ Apolline Agraeus [RO, selectable: he/him or she/her] The brightest sun

As talented as they are are promiscuous, Apollo/line is a controversial figure. They wear their fame with shamelessness and pride - not afraid of the rumours that circulate. With so much drama surrounding them, the real question is how much is even true?

Phaethon Eridanos [RO, he/him] The burning river

Your best friend of five years, who you first met after he broke into your tower prison. He's playful, teasing and way too inclined towards trouble making, all while managing to be more mysterious than even your father. Among all his secrets you're pretty sure he's hiding the fact he's a god.

Ever since you were first locked up you've seen them in your dreams. This stranger - this god, for what else could he be - they haunt you like a summer heat. You don't even know her name.

Daedalus Ergane [he/him] The wingsmith

Your father and a genius inventor, artist and keeper of secrets. Right after meeting your mother for the first time, you discover the worst of his crimes. Do you forgive him for it or push him away? The choice is yours.

Circe [she/her] The witch kid

Circe is Helio's youngest child, a ten-year-old girl with wisdom, talent and ambition that outshines most adults. In particular, she's a brilliant magic-user who, according to rumour, can even //talk// to the arcane energy that she commands.

Your mother The minor goddess

Either Peitho, Metis, Asteria, Bia or Nike plays the role of your mother. Regardless of who it is, the fact is that you don't know her. Then, on the day before you're due to escape prison, she appears, not to finally introduce herself but to give you a job... Maybe one day you'll make a proper mother out of her.

Who first and zodiac, for Jaz/Leon and love at first sight for Maddie/Jared

Who started liking the other first?

There had always been a strong attraction between Leon and Jaz but putting their band first, it took them years of close friendship to actually act on it. Leon was the first to realise that the loose agreement he and Jaz had entered wasn't what he wanted anymore, even though he did his best to put those feelings aside.

Who insists on checking their zodiac sign compatibility every so often?

Leon might be the one to actually believe in the metaphysical world but that Jaz is definitely taking more enjoyment out of it. She loves poking fun at horoscopes and telling Leon just how much of a Libra he truly is.

Who believes in love at first sight?

Despite having pulled the short straw more than once in her life, Maddie has always been (and remained) a romantic at heart. Love at first sight is real and, if asked, she would still claim - even after all these years - that seeing Jared perform live for the first time hit her like lightning. Jared always saw things more pragmatically. He was a busy man, and there wouldn't have been space for love anyway.

When Stars Ignite: Colleagues can’t keep it in their pants even though they probably should.

Icarus: Mate, have you heard of therapy?

Lemons: Mate, go back to therapy.

6. What kind of readers would be fans of this wip?

When Stars Ignite: idk if people who loved Daisy Jones would like this or bang their heads against the wall, but ideally, the first

Icarus: Bitches who have way to much sympathy for arsehole antagonists and love a corruption arc (it’s me, I’m bitches)

Lemons: Fans of inappropriately dark humour. Hopefully, people who have gone through a similar mental health struggle that Charly has.

12. What inspired this wip

When Stars Ignite: An unhealthy obsession with AUs, my OTP, rock music and @alyslaskeywriter You can take your pick.

Icarus: People’s universal hate for the antagonist in When Stars Ignite and this poem by @wearealsoboats right here.

Lemons: The life story and daily struggles of a person very very dear to me. And probably also insomnia but we’ll just leave that out

Sometimes I wonder how Icarus felt as his descent began. Did he laugh with delight as the wax scorched his flesh? Did he revel in the sun's heavenly warmth, despite its cataclysmic nature? Perhaps he spread his arms wide, mimicking the effect of soaring even as he fell.

Somehow, I had always been convinced that his final moments were spent in joyous celebration, the culmination of a childish adolescence.

Icarus was an inspiration. We build him brick by brick into the perfect figure to reflect our dreams. We went to him in order to fuel our blind dreams and, as if we stood before a looking glass, he always reflected what we told ourselves under the guise of jesting.

Now, I can recognise that Icarus preformed no noble sacrifice. Saints become martyrs, they suffer for our sins. But not Icarus. A mere child has no claim to sainthood nor to biblical proportion.

Now, I understand that an innocent death can not justify our philosophy. We never acted as preachers or priests. No, all we were capable of was blatant disrespect.

We may as well have found his site of final burial and spit on it.
