hello again everyone ✨ just finished aisha a few hours ago hehe

I had soooooo much fun painting the boots and the outfit!!! I really like this piece, it's so glittery and fun :) tell me, who should I draw next?? I was thinking about musa maybe...

~also, slightly unrelated, I'm rewatching my little pony from the beginning and I got some tinkerbell books, so you may expect art of them in the near future :) I might even do crossovers?? like mlp characters as winx fairies or something!!

The differences between Fairies from Magix and fairies from Tir na Nog are visible in their wings -

those from Magix only have wings when transformed and it looks more like their magic is leaking from their backs, since the wings appear in the color of their magic and grow in size with the major transformations

Terrestrial Fairies however are born with their wings. They are surprisingly robust, but the fairies needed a spell to hide their wings from human eyes.

Witches magic markings are growing with their major transformations. Those markings appear in the same color as their magic.

Those who practice dark magic get corrupted by it and get growing markings on their bodies. Once visible, those can't be hidden, not even with the help of magic.

As Riven's mother practiced dark magic during her pregnancy with him, he has the markings of the first stage.

I love how cute he was in Season 1, I am definitely not a fan of the dramatic change in his appearance they made throughout the other seasons. I think he just lost his charm.

They even have a similar haircut 🤭 If Cinthy's hair were long, he would look like his winged twin ✨

hear me out: what if winx club got the high fantasy straight white female amazon/goodreads book author treatment? i’m talking sarah j maas acotar or rebecca yarros fourth wing treatment.

bloom’s the mary sue protagonist who’s from a long lost ancient lineage of dragon shifter fae and she has her totally unhealthy situationship with the blonde prince of eraklyon who reeks just of alpha male energy but oh no the bad dark wizard who’s standing in the way of her bringing back her long lost/destroyed homeworld of the dragon shifter fae is hot and centuries older than her? whatever is a girl to do!

and this is solely with this idea in my head for thirty seconds there is so much potential for this concept and it makes me giggle so so much.

I just had a diabolical thought about Bloom. What if she is a changeling? But not an actual mythological changeling.

What if instead of Daphne just dropping Bloom somewhere (inside a burning building) she swapped Bloom with the ACTUAL Bloom Peters? Daphne knew the ancestral witches would be looking for a baby, and she couldn’t have been sure those three (well two) would be defeated. So, she made a tough decision. She took Mike and Vanessa’s actual daughter and put the Princess of Domino in her place. So Daphne tried running with that baby for as long as she could, but eventually she was caught and killed. The witches tried to take the dragon flame from Bloom Peters but it didn’t work. She wasn’t Domino’s Princess. So they disposed of her. After the defeat of the Ancestral Witches the royal family of Domino was declared dead.

And Mike and Vanessa were unknowingly raising somebody else. She was called Bloom Peters sure, but she was still The Princess of Domino and Guardian of the Dragon Flame.

And imagine Bloom finding this out. That she isn’t Bloom, that she took the place of an innocent kid and has been living as her. Maybe that's what she finds out in Cloud Tower. Not that she’s a weapon created by the ancestral witches, but a fake. She isn’t Bloom Peters, she is The ‘dead’ Princess of Domino.

Imagine her trying to tell this to her ‘parents’ that she isn’t their daughter, that their actual child was buried in the tomb meant for her.

Katy - Fairy of Animals

every fairy of animals has a deeper connection to an animal type (Roxy dogs, Katy cats)

actual animal features (like teased in the show)

comes from a planet where people are most likely hybrids / have animal features

feline physiology meaning: extremely athletic, sharp teeth and nails, heightened senses, treads lightly

deep connection with animals, can understand them

mimic the abilities, traits, and behavior of animals

she can change her features into animal ones too, even her wings!

shapeshift (potentially)

she is fearful of mice which is kind of ironic as fairy of animals, so I believe, she is quite overwhelmed by her powers and animal connection

unlike Roxy, she has not a natural good relationship with them, it develops over time

that makes using magic hard for her because she doesn’t believe in herself that much 

Katy has nine “lives” like a cat and earned her Enchantix by sacrificing herself (and losing her last life) 

Khadija - Fairy of Rhythm

I planned that she’s from Eros too, like Ahisa & they have a friendly competition who becomes the Fairy Guardian first (rivals to friends to lovers)

then she earned her Enchantix by saving Ahisa but that's already Ahisa's story, so... (I didn't notice it till I re-read it. Originally, they were all written down in the same document.)

alternative: She saves her parents.

amazing dancer and perfected all but it got too much doing them all

changed rather often before settling on just doing what is fun for her

confident and independent but more in a “if nobody comes with me, I am going by myself”-sense (Aisha/Layla admired that a lot since she was less independent by choice and more forced to be alone)

She, Francis, Musa, Aisha/Layla and later Mirta had their own dancing group and weekly hangouts to talk about concerts to visit

I struggle a bit with her powers because I like to explore the depth of the girls’ powers (as you may have noticed) and just give hints what they could accomplish

rhythm manipulation could be vibration and wave manipulation (elemental powers)

dance powers, dance manipulation could be sleep inducing and tiring people out OR wake them up, give them back energy

body and mind control by controlling heart beats and sending brainwaves 

AND based on which direction her powers take, her attire would be different. for example more ballet-inspired when controlling people like a music box figurine or puppet with strings

Dahlia/Francine - Fairy of Rivers

one of the fastest fairy at Alfea (second only to Lavigne)

water-based powers

lake and river manipulation

water body creation

superspeed, speed related powers

accelerated perception, accelerated thought process 

aquatic enhanced speed

can run over water

slowing down others

dislikes insects and bugs 

bonds with Katy over having issues to really connect with her powers

she had a hard time coming to terms with her powers because she is from an urban realm and lived in a big futuristic city with hardly any nature

she drags the girls to Magix City almost every day

Dahlia earned her Enchantix by saving an ancient creature that once lived in her homeworld

Witches vs Fairies

Fairies have their fairy forms for a reason. Magic in general is a force that doesn’t bother with the rules of society, it’s unpredictable and extremely powerful. Human forms don’t allow much magic uses because it’ll destroy anyone who can’t control it. So fairies have their fairy forms that allow them to channel and redirect the magic, think of a lightning rod redirecting/protecting a house/person during a lightning storm. These forms act as armor and allow the to enter magically charged spaces, protecting their bodies and minds from the raw energy. Witches on the other hand, charge right in with the internet to attempt controlling that raw energy. While it is faster and more efficient, it leaves them exposed to the full force of magic. This leads to witches having ‘corruptions’. The magic twisting their mind and body because it doesn’t like being controlled like other raw substances.

Take this WIP of Flora from over a month ago 😔🙏 y'all, I've already deleted and started over this painting so many times jsndskkd I've been STRUGGLING to paint her hair (that's why you're only seeing the flats now) 😭😭 but I quite like the pose :))) I've also discovered the Winx PS2 game which I'm finding to be very entertaining!! I think the slightly cursed 3D models are so charming (except for Sky... he looks horrendous...)

Nymphs

Nymphs are Fairies or Witch/ers who get chosen to protect the greatest power within the Magical Core of their homerealm. They are a group called the Nine Nymphs of Magix, chosen and led by the first Nymph - Omnia.

Omnia was a Fairy from Arcadia. She was the one who discovered the highest transformation a Fairy can reach and was able to connect to the Magical Core of her home. Thus, turning into the Nymph of Mana. She got an invitation by Arcadia to join the Council of Elders inside the Timeless Realm.

The powers within each Magical Core are granted to a Fairy or Witch/er, once they have reached Faerix or High Witch respectively, were able to gain a deeper connection with the Magical Core of their homerealm and could prove their intentions are for the greater good, by living with the decision they made in order to get into the Timeless Realm (the decision of the Crystal Labyrinth).

The current nine Nymphs of Magix are:

From Ísheim - Freja, Nymph of Ice Crystals

From Jörd - Empress Consort Samara, Nymph of the Undergrounds

Originally, Daphne should have been the Nymph of the Dragon Flame, but she gave those powers to Bloom, to keep them safe from the Ancestral Witches. This turned Bloom into the current Keeper of the Dragon Flame. But this also means, there is no current Nymph of Domino.

Zenith doesn't have a power within its Magical Core, due to it being manmade. But it might as well that it hasn't been found yet, since Zenith focusses a lot more on technological development.

Those who want to become the next Nymph follow and learn from the current Nymph. The one is ultimately chosen, once the current Nymph decides to step back. In the case of Linphea the following Nymph is also the next King or Queen of Linphea.
