I love when magic has an effect on the body & soul of its caster. like!! you don’t get to be a reality-bending demi-god and walk away with no strings attached. there’s always a price.
Bloom’s dragon fire consumes her from the inside, leaving lightning-like tissues of scars along her limbs - be careful, rumbles the Great Dragon from within, don’t let your emotions consume you. Bloom wails from the pain and clutches whoever is in the vicinity - but cannot fully stop it. just prevent it or treat the aftermath.
Musa gets migraines. Stella becomes ill when she doesn’t get her daily dose of sunshine. Aisha’s senses get muddy sometimes, almost as if she’s submerged underwater. Nabu experiences uncontrollable tremors in his arms, when he creates too many of his phantoms. all of those are - yes, horrible to experience but manageable enough for the school (and the Magic community at large) to tell them to just suck it up and weather through.
once you get your enchantix though, you start developing… unique abilities. almost like, in achieving the final fairy form, you became one with your brand of magic.
Bloom starts producing smoke. Like - she snorts at something funny Riven or Sky say, and literal puffs of smoke emerge from her nose. It’s jarring at first (“Bloom Peters, when did you start smoking? do you know that it kills??”) but quickly becomes endearing once they realise it’s not life-threatening in any way (after speed-running through like fifteen Magix apothecaries). Among her other ‘oddities’: too hot to cuddle with (only Stella can stand the high temperature, since she has a resistance to heat), becomes strangely overprotective and a little possessive, her eyes sometimes become a startling orange hue as if she’s embodied by the great dragon himself (it’s just a party trick).
Stella becomes more ethereal. In certain lights, her skin looks translucent - like a mirage weaved with moonlight. Her hair glints in the sun, almost too bright to like at; her touch feels phantom-like. She becomes even more beautiful, but less - human, earth-bound, Stella-esque. A curse and a blessing, that one.
Musa’s hearing gets really fucking good. She has a steadily growing dossier of blackmail on every student in Alfea - simply because shut doors or longer distances are no longer obstacles for her. It’s annoying too, because she can’t exactly turn it off - and now she gets to hear all the things people say about her, behind her. but here’s a consolation - she can influence other creature’s emotions through the melodies she hums! like how in canon, she pacified the bird Roc and brought mirth to the arguing fairies.
Flora gets much sturdier. Her skin harder than bark; her body able to withstand thirst and hunger for much longer than the rest. It’s honestly so intimidating. Here’s this sweet young woman — known to cry for trampled flowers and cut weeds!! — absolutely bodying a sharp ass ice shard that Icy attacked her with. It just — crumbles upon colliding with Flora’s body. insane and frankly so so hot for others to see.
As per the negatives… I like the idea of Flora being able to connect to the memories of nature around her and literally absorb the pain/fear/anguish of whatever she witnessed.
Aisha and Bloom are similar, in a sense that both of them are vessels to primordial divinities of their universe — Bloom is the holder of the Dragon Flame, and Aisha is the child of the Infinite Ocean. therefore, both experience a more extreme transformation than their girl friends. like, Aisha’s dreams are infiltrated by visions of past and future; memories of those who were lost to the Ocean. she dreams of Politea, of Tritanus, of her mer cousins and ancestors, and even those who were not yet born. if Aisha was not so mentally wilful, she might’ve folded under the weight of those prophesies.
Aisha can also breathe under water and her body gets the musculature it needs to be on par with her mer cousins while swimming, because why the fuck not?
Tecna - I frankly have no ideas for and would love to hear suggestions!

"You bought another issue of Teen Fairy?" Sky asked from his position by the door. He watched as Y/N flipped through the color pages of the magazine as the ice fairy's head broke above the book and smiles.
"Of course I did. I like to take the quizzes and see who's my magical soulmate."
"How can you read that shit? It's complete rubbish." Sky said.
"Are the pictures rubbish too?" Y/N held up the magazine to see a picture of Sky shirtless and looking down at the ground in jeans. His mother's advisor thought Sky should capitalize on his well, let's just say that Sky had certain qualities that the youth of the Otherworld could get behind.
"You bought it because of me?" Sky asked.
"Duh. You're eye candy. Also, do they even have a story to go with your pictures, or is this the beginning of Eraklyon's onlyfans?"
Sky chuckles.

I headcanon Riven as a rocker type guy, but I don't think he wears a lot of black. He's not against the color, it's just a bit boring for him plus he associates it with funerals so it's meh to him most of the time. His wardrobe, in my head, is Maneskin inspired but with more pinks and cherries, and a few reds (like the combo on the strawberry shirt) and of course most of his clothes cover up more (but I'll defend the 70's boy crop top look until I die- I actually hc that it is quite fashionable for boys and girls alike in Magix, Riven is actually most fashion forward of the group- Timmy does have his very flattering Sheldon style (yes I said it XD) and Helia is doing his own thing, while Sky doesn't know what his style would even be and Brandon wears the clothes that his dresser sends over). Riven's style is mostly inspired by the music scene and his favorite color, which is pink. He doesn't put a lot of thought into his clothes, but it's there. And yes, that sometimes makes him the only pink thing in the crowd of black, but when you have that dog in you that's no issue. Riven doesn't see an issue with wearing a lot of pink because his HAIR is pink, it's already a done deal, why fight it? @daydreamsia ohhh I know you mentioned black nailpolish, but what about black cherry? And I do think all this is a bit confusing to Bloom, who is used to aggressive, biting guys like Riven dressing extremely masculine- so being barked at by a tall, muscular guy dressed in the strawberry shirt is very odd. The overall pink look is broken up by the fact that he usually wears parts of his uniform out, so the pink/red/cherry is usually balanced with cream, blue, and sometimes black and/or camouflage. When I was a kid I didn't think the blue and cream uniforms were badass enough so I hced them as black, but then Fate did and we hate fate plus it showed me it's kinda really boring. So while I do think they'd have like, one black think, it's not so much a uniform as something they wear for a very particular training/mission, they don't have that many of those issued to them anyways; they have a few cami gears, which is what they'd wear when going to Black Mud Swamp (not contradicting Episode Black Mud Swamp because they weren't meant to be there anyways) and the rest is blue/cream, with maybe a fancier version of their canon ones being ceremonial ones. Also, yes, red fountain basically supplies a near damn whole wardrobe because teenage boys are shit at keeping up with their laundry (they do it themselves- in Alphea housekeeping does it) and the boys won't mind rewearing dirty clothes mostly but the STAFF most certainly does. DID, actually, and that's why they started issuing more clothes to the boys instead of like just 2 pairs. Has anyone noticed that I want the strawberry shirt? Bc I want the strawberry shit god DAMN it I don't even dare to look up the price. Should I do it? Do I deserve a little something something?? (is it even still in the rotation???) (so many questions) I also saw a kick ass lounge chair I want. I don't have a lounge. Honestly the day I don't wake up and want something ridiculously expensive is the day hell freezes over lmfao.

this is me trying to plan out Red Fountain's floorplan. the bottom floors are so skinny that i dont know how i should position the student dorms since i want to put it there. should it be corridor around the outside, a spiral staircase/elevator in the middle with no corridors, or with some corridors.
and my headcanon is that the new red fountain is supposed to be shaped like the hilt of a sword to emphasize that technique and knowledge is more important than straight up violence / rage.

Hi just watched Griffin and Saladin's video (great designs and rewrites by the way, I love your version of Griffin) and I just wanted to ask, if Tecna and Mirta end up taking over Alfea, and Lucy over Cloud Tower...who will take over Red Fountain?
If it's a spoiler or something you don't have to answer, it was just a thought that came to me while watching the video lol.
ahhh this is a very good ask, you've pointed out a gap i mayyyy have forgotten to fill lmao
it definitely wont be helia
but
idk tbh....... 🤔 i do have timmy as the only of our group of specialists to become a teacher there, and it could be interesting to have the heads of alfea and red fountain be married but
i actually think diaspro would be a really good candidate! up until now ive imagined her becoming the leader of the eraklyon military, head knight basically and someone who would spend a lot of time with bloom and sky once they take the throne. being a family friend and probably babysitting their kids sometimes
but i'll have to think about this!!! could be a really good way to conclude her arc, especially since she's part of helia's squad and the two are really good friends

hear me out: what if winx club got the high fantasy straight white female amazon/goodreads book author treatment? i’m talking sarah j maas acotar or rebecca yarros fourth wing treatment.
bloom’s the mary sue protagonist who’s from a long lost ancient lineage of dragon shifter fae and she has her totally unhealthy situationship with the blonde prince of eraklyon who reeks just of alpha male energy but oh no the bad dark wizard who’s standing in the way of her bringing back her long lost/destroyed homeworld of the dragon shifter fae is hot and centuries older than her? whatever is a girl to do!
and this is solely with this idea in my head for thirty seconds there is so much potential for this concept and it makes me giggle so so much.

Magic Colleges in Magix City
The three best colleges for anyone who wants to practice more than basic magic are located close to Magix City – Alfea, Cloud Tower and Red Fountain. All of them can only be visited once the basic education has been finished, which is when the students are around 17/18 years old.
They take five years each, whereas the students have on-campus dorm rooms during the first three. For the two latter years the students are given shared apartments in Magix City, as these years are dedicated for independent studies.
The students either have to pay for their education or get a scholarship. In every school a maximum of 100 students are accepted per year, making sure there are never more than 500 students at once.
Alfea for Fairies
For the first year every student needs to attend classes for
History of Magix Magi-philosophy (Morality of Magic) Formation and Language of Spells Transformation Basic Charms Basic Defense and Offense Basic Healing Basic Potions
Second year classes are
History of Magix Convergence Charms Defense and Offense Healing Potions
Classes of the third year are
History of Magix Advanced Charms Advanced Defense and Offense Advanced Healing Advanced Potions
Alfea also offers a variety of electives which can be chosen from the second year onward: for example, Advanced Magical Theory, Blessings, Magic Healing, Nature Magic, Botany and Herbology.
Fairies are expected to have gained Charmix by their third year.
In their fourth and fifth year they can continue studying on their own, with a mentor, or participate in classes focussed on becoming king or queen of their realm.
Any Fairy who reaches Enchantix during their education, graduates with an honours degree.
Cloud Tower for Witch/ers
For the first year every student needs to attend the classes for
History of Magix Magi-philosophy (Morality of Magic) Meditation Basic Witchcraft Basic Hexes Basic Potions Basic Curses Demonology
Second year classes are
History of Magix Witchcraft Hexes Potions Curses a separate class for every Coven
Classes of the third year are
History of Magix Rituals Advanced Witchcraft Advanced Hexes Advanced Potions Advanced Curses
Electives can be chosen from the second year onward - they include Mentalist Magic, Infused Magic, Divination, Astronomy and Astrology.
Witch/ers are expected to have their Relic by their third year.
In their fourth and fifth year they can continue studying on their own, with a mentor, or participate in classes focussed on becoming king or queen of their realm.
Any Witch/er who reaches Enchantress/er during their education, graduates with an honours degree.
Red Fountain for Paladins and Wizards
Usually, every year has 80 Specialists and 20 Wizards. The groups only have combined classes in
History of Magix Magi-philosophy Basic Magical and Physical Combat Protection against Mental Magic
During their first year Specialists have
Basic Weaponry Strategy Combat Medicine Piloting
Whereas Wizards have classes for
Basic Runes Basic Spell-craft and Enchantment Magical Medicine Magical Artifacts
Everyone can attend classes for driving a Wind Rider, but these are only last during the first month of each academic year.
By the end of the first year, the Specialists get to choose what they want to focus on –
becoming a Leader - green jewel a Pilot and Mechanic - yellow jewel a Strategist and Negotiator - blue jewel an Armorer and Combatant - purple jewel
Leaders still have to attend every class, whereas the others have a much more specific education.
Second year combined classes are
History of Magix Magical and Physical Combat
In their second year twenty groups of four Specialists each, are put together. They are expected to work together and go on missions. Every Specialist also has to attend Dragon Riding class.
The Wizard’s second year classes include
Runes Alchemy Spell-craft and Enchantment
In their third year each group of Specialists is joined by a Wizard.
Shared classes are still in
History of Magix Advanced Magical and Physical Combat
Specialist specific classes are dependent on their path, but also include Dragon Training. Whereas Wizards have
Advanced Runes Advanced Alchemy Curse Breaking
Electives can be chosen from the second year onward: Magic Tech, Archery, Sword Technique, Long-Distance Combat, as well as Mystical Creatures.
Wizards are expected to have their Sceptre by the end of their third year.
During their last two years their education focusses either on working as a Paladin/Wizard, royal guard or becoming king or queen of their realm.
Doesn’t matter what they choose, Specialists have to work on their own nanotech-armor, which is stored inside the amulet they make of their own magic at the end of their third year. That’s also where their weapons are kept when they don’t need them.
From the fourth year onward, additional electives can be chosen from: Technological Architecture, Software Construction, Engineering, Coding. For those who already know, they want to do something different after the education.
Any Specialists who is able to tame a Dragon in Pyros and bond with the creature spiritually, as well as mentally, graduates with an honours degree and gets titled Paladin.
Any Wizard who has their Staff by the end of their fifth year, graduates with an honours degree.
All Electives are for the students of either one of the three colleges. If one chooses one from another school, they would have to go there.
Royals from every college can attend classes specifically for them – Etiquette, Economics, Sociology, Diplomacy, Politics and Laws. Those are thought by advisors in Magix City.
Other Magix City courses include Languages for students, who want to learn other languages of Magix and any Sports or Dance courses.

the Cloud Tower headcanons
out of the three Magix schools, Cloud Tower has the biggest roster of scholarships and waived tuition fees.
witches are oft mischaracterised by the public. because they draw their power from strong, negative emotions, people incorrectly assume that witches must be either miserable, evil and/or drudging through a miserable existence. because of those biases, many talented young people never even pursue a witch’s education.
the Cloud Tower has been historically a very generous institution, hoping to draw in more students and combat those believes. Under Griffin’s leadership, the amount of given out scholarships is as big as ever and is specifically geared towards financially compromised students, or students in bad life situations.
Every first year student at the Cloud Tower gets to choose a new name for themselves. It’s a ritual meant to symbolise rebirth; a way to let go of the past and embrace your new life.
of course, you’re not required to go by that name after the “initiation” - but that’s the name your coven siblings will remember you by.
in the last couple of decades, the idea of a self-sufficient, all-powerful witch became extremely popular. if before witches came in covens, nowadays, most prefer to do their bidding alone. this is why most Cloud Tower students are more versatile than fairies, but less powerful since they spread themselves thinner to try and learn a bit of everything.
in order to earn their enchantix, a fairy has to make a sacrifice to save a person from their homeland. in order to go through their final transformation, a witch has to prove their relentlessness and determination; willingness to achieve a goal by any means possible, at the expense of oneself.
the requirement for the final transformation is deliberately vague. it can be grandiose and self-destructive - a last stand, you, engulfed in blazing fire, shielding your friends with all that you’ve got - because worlds be damned, your loved ones are your first priorities. or it can be as uncomplicated as standing up to your shitbag father and trashing your old house; that asshole won’t keep you down any longer. all in all, there’s no right way to be a witch.
student spend their first three years of college on campus. their fourth year, the school finds them an internship. future guardian witches are hired by “hero-for-rent” organisations and sent on supervised off-world missions, alchemists and potion-makers are interned in Linphea, teachers are sent off across dimensions. they come back once every semester, to report their progress, and on graduation. similar system in employed in both Alfea and Red Fountain.
some fairies and witches definitely have beef with each other, and stereotyping/hate-mongering is ripe on both sides - BUT. so many of them are dating each other. just so many. you guys have never been in an (almost, there are still guy and non-binary witches/fairies) all girls boarding school if you think those bitches from Alfea and Cloud Tower are anything but gay.
Griffin is in an attrition war with the fairy-dating witches. they keep sneaking their SO’s into the Cloud Tower, who then have to be rescued because the castle is kind off sentient and keeps trying to eat the intruders-
it’s just annoying to be constantly dealing with! so Griffin literally puts anti-fairy charms on the school grounds.
(but then Griffin also has to call an emergency meeting with the entire school and reiterate that she is not actually homophobic - just against trespassers without entrance permits - and to please, stop sending hexes into her office-)

Reworking my concept for Cloud Tower because my god, what was I thinking last year?
I'm also finally doing Alfea and Red Fountain
So here some info:
Magix Military Academy: Red Fountain
Tumblr media
In addition to being an academy, Red Fountain is one of Magix's military training bases, the vast majority of students who manage to graduate become soldiers in the service of the planet. To enter you must be invited, especially if you are from another planet or realm. Magix citizens can also take an assessment test to enter college, which is divided into 6 phases corresponding to each of the requirements to become a specialist.
I wanted Red Fountain to be seen but not very accessible, so it is very close to the capital, but it is on an artificial island that is difficult for civilians to access.
Cloud Tower: Modern Witchcraft Univercity
Tumblr media
The witchcraft of the Trilogy Of Cosmo's side of the dimension was changed after so many years, becoming modern witchcraft, this side of the dimension abhors and does not respect witchcraft. So Cloud Tower is hidden, magix is ashamed of having witches on its planet but at the same time it likes the title of being a powerhouse that houses powerful witches, they built CT just for profit. So cloud tower is located on a floating island in the Magix Alps, far from civilization, hidden from the eyes of tourists and citizens.
Griffin and her Coven fight to make the school the best it can for its students, even with few resources and state neglect. If Cloud Tower is now a prestigious school that attracts witches from all over the dimension, it was due to the efforts of these teachers.
To enter the school you must participate in a 3-phase entrance exam, which judges your knowledge, aptitude and magical level.
Alfea Academy of Fairie Arts
Tumblr media
An elite school for the elite only, Alfea is very expensive and its students are usually princesses or royalty from this side of the dimension. Magix gets a lot of recognition for this school, so it is the most "accessible" and visually glorious, It is located in the Spirit Tree, in the university city of the capital of magix.
To enter, you just have to pay, but the academy also offers some scholarships, but they are very difficult to get, so only 0.5% of students are scholarship holders.

Now I am curious 1) how teams are made in Red Fountain and 2) are there more complicated procedures in order to make a team around a prince? Because obviously, after the initial assessments, the staff would make a decision, and I do think they put into consideration personal requests- in fact those are often automatically accepted, unless it would leave a team horribly unbalanced, for an example, if a group of heavy weight brute force hitters all banded together, not leaving a space for a single tec oriented guy or anyone favoring a different style of fighting. But what about royalty?
I think Red Fountain does indulge royal and noble families that send their children there, to a certain degree even more than Alfea and Cloud Tower. It is the most well funded school already but they also have the most expenses. Fuel (it is environmentally friendly in Magic Dimension), machine parts, feed for dragons and wyverns, upkeep of military technology, hell even ordinary technology. Alfea and Cloud Tower do not have elevators, for an example, while Red Fountain does. Not to mention that their students on average eat way more than the students of the other two schools lol. All this meaning, they need all the fucking money they could get. However, they wouldn't let it affect the actual schooling of the boys, so a guardian flat out picking the teammates for their kid is not allowed. BUT to pacify them, the school adds more requirements for squad members of royalty and high nobility, just so they can cover their asses when a parent inevitably thinks they know better. This would mean that out of all the relevant candidates, Timmy and Riven were the most impressive ones. Booya. Erendor absolutely raised a fucking tantrum about it, he wanted a minor Quartian noble on Sky's team instead of Riven, who has no proof of pedigree whatsoever, but the faculty just ignored it very politely, and since Magix is not part of Eraklyon, thank you very much, he had no further means of insistence minus pulling his son out, which was out of the question once he was already enrolled, since it would be shown as the instability of the heir's education.
