Lmao hi @sparkvoid! Since you prodded this into existence, all of your designs for these crazies are paired with 'em. These are mostly pre-hybrid designs so keep that in mind!

So yeah everyone the Shadow Crafters are easily the most aggressive cats in Shadows (ignoring Quiveringheart who is one anxiety attack from passing out and Sunstone who has convinced her clan she was a kidnapped Thunder kit) for no other reason than chaos truthfully.

The oldest of the crafter are Thistlesight, Sunstone and Crowtalon. Crow and Sun are the same age and were apprenticed at the same time while Thistlesight came in I wanna say 3 moons into their training.

Sunstone

Everyone's Mom - she's warm, cuddling, protective and incredibly supportive. Most cats in her pride think it's a bit weird that she didn't become a Sitter but hey, whatever - at least she's contributing to her clan. She's overdramatic and heavily affectionate - this paired with her boisterous behavior and golden coat have led to a lot of cats assuming she has some form of Thunder blood in her.

A Very Serious Man intent on just doing his job to the best of his ability and then moving on with his day. He's very skilled at blending into the background and is careful to watch which way the wind blows. He's even better at adjusting his stance if he doesn't like the scent on the breeze.

Thistlesight

A chaotic mischievous jokester. Being the youngest of the Crafter trio, they had the amusing situation of being 'the cool apprentice' who was friends with fully trained warriors while they were still in the apprentice's den. They can be pretty aggressive at any given moment but typically mean well and don't actually like hurting others. They also have a soft-spot for kits which is how they acquired Cootpaw

Then we have our freshest warriors Marrowfang, Willowthorn and Quiveringheart.These are the 'outcasts' of the pride so to speak with all three of them having some quality or trait that the Shadows disapprove of.

Quiveringheart

An easily frightened boy who'd look more at home in the Wind than in the Shadows. He takes after his father mostly in appearance though Saffronblister wouldn't be happy to hear about that considering his son a complete coward. Quiveringheart became a crafter as he's not fond of blood or violence in any fashion. Becoming an apprentice was the best thing that ever happened to him - he got closer to his denmates Marrowpaw and Willowpaw then received Sunstone as a mentor.

Marrowfang

Kind of a defensive Tough Guy - despite being on team Arts and Crafts, Marrowfang likes to keep his combat skills sharp. Marrowfang - like his best friend - became a crafter to spite the whispers about his heritage (due to being mostly white) and to support Quiveringheart. He tries his hardest to be the best at everything he tries and has a tendency to overwork himself.

Willowthorn

Easily the most bloodthirsty of the pack, Willowthorn is - personality-wise - everything the Shadows have come to regret. She loyal - to her friends, she's obedient - to her ex-mentor and she's full of faith for the Souls. She's always been incredibly scrappy and a complete prankster, well known for diving at the innocent tails of the cats around the pride. The day she left the nursery was a sigh of relief for all of the Sitters.

The split ear is from Marrowfang when the two wanted to be cool

The Shadows have no low-branched trees, she still sprints up until she can at least smack one

She's high energy and is caught wiggling on the border during border-watches by Thunder patrols

Marrowfang is her mate as adults and she greets him with a spar at random in the forest

And the youngsters, little Cootpaw and Minkpaw. I'll admit these two haven't been developed nearly as much as the adults have been. They've got their origins and their general vibes, but that's kind of it.

Chaotic and Energetic - manages to have obtained the proper average Shadow build being long-legged with wide paws, small ears and a shortened coat. They are currently Sunstone's apprentice and regulary burst into cackles at being apprenticed to the cat seen as a Thunder cat.

Cootpaw

Chaotic but in a chill way. Cootpaw is always down to fight back against the powers that chain a cat down albeit, they also appreciate doing so in a way that means that others are doing the hard part. Cootpaw was adopted by Thistlesight from a deceased loner and proceeded to work with her adoptive mother with bullying the entire pride into believing that Thistle was just hiding their pregnancy.

This book is only 200 pages long but Jayne Mansfield was such a nightmarish person that it seems to drag on forever. A more accurate title would be something like A Series of Seedy Events.)

Current obsession: Two words - Rock Hudson. A vastly underrated actor, going through his filmography I’ve discovered gems that I’ll treasure forever, and I’ve finally started reading about the AIDS epidemic - I bought And The Band Played On and How to Survive a Plague almost at the same time as a biography about him, All That Heaven Allows. It’s not that I’ve been intentionally avoiding it, but I knew it would be painful, so I wanted to take my time and be in the right state of mind to absorb everything. Also, he was just such a handsome man that, what the hell - a girl can dream :)

Begging on my hands and knees for Willowthorne AU update

Last night I finally got to play the D&D Campaign I've been brewing up for my beloved friends last night for the past three months and OH MY GOD it went so Wonderfully! We played for SIX HOURS. The first campaign was the set-up for what's going to be a massive murder mystery conspiracy. A summary of last night's six hour plot under the cut :)

We started in a monastery, the legendary Grey Elf, Tellomaine, sends his best apprentice (Kahlin, our party's Monk Sorcerer who couldn't be there for this session) to help in a situation where he cannot be present due to other business. Cut to a few days later, night in Aerindale, the busiest port city in the country of Elderspire.

The shattered dagger inn. A blinded half-elf (Seraphina, the party ranger) walks into the tavern and sees a bunch of people at their tables doing their own thing, the mistress of the house, Lady Sarah tending bar, and a gnome and a large drunk looking paladin (Guillaume, our party paladin) talking at the bar. She also sees an angry looking halfling woman(Malva, the party Bard-Druid) drinking a big beer and listening in. They talk about what's been going on, dessicated bodies in the street found with ancient Folessian runes carved in them. Folessia was a nation that Began a great conflict about 20 years ago and the Great Folessian War lasted around 4 or 5 years. Everyone has negative ties to the folessians in one way or another. The gnome, a professor at the university, says he has a posting outside at the job board for any interested parties. They drink into the night and everyone goes to bed.

In the morning, a young, dangerously skinny man (Viktor, the party cleric and healer) checks the board for any jobs and finds the post about the murders and the runes and a payout for relevant knowledge. His interest is piqued, so he goes off to the office of Prof. Gareth Willowthorn. So does A large Orc-Goblin (Krognar, our Barbarogue) who notices the same post but is interested more in the large reward. Their purple sash denotes them to knowing eyes as a member of the Thieves guild, so they're going to look for money, magical items, or anything of major worth.

Cut to the office of G. Willowthorn, the Gnome professor of Divination at the university. Gary, the professor of battlemagics William Noble, and Khalin are seated together as a young wizard enters (Barney Noble, our party wizard and William's son) and gets instructed by his father and his favorite professor that he will be participating in this quest as an independent study to try and find his Adept school of magic. The rest arrive one by one and are soon all together, and are told about the quest. Bodies have been turning up in the streets drained of all their blood and covered in glowing runes written, or rather carved, in the ancient folessian tongue. The guards have the bodies in the morgue, and William gives them a writ of passage to be able to move around the city freely. They take it and ask a billion questions, then go to return a ring of abjuration to the Abjuration wizard for Prof. Willowthorn. Prof. Gauldir is in her office with a hooded figure, who turns out to be Headmaster Guillefoil. The headmaster makes a quick motion and excuses himself, thanking everyone for visiting the college, and pocketing something but not before the ranger and druid notice it. They see a small sliver chain go into his sleeve. Prof. Gauldir recieved the ring of the Augur of Grimsbane and puts it in a safe place, and sends them off since she is a very busy woman and has much to plan for the lessons.

They go off to the guards barracks and as they walk the ranger meets a Blue Jay who gives her a little information about the bodies, The rats know something about them. Jay then makes an agreement with her to keep an eye out and let her know if anything happens, and they reach the guard barracks and investigate the bodies, finding that each body has the same incisions in the wrists and neck, drained of all blood via major veins. They also find some dried blood mixed with a bluish substance on one of the bodies after cutting off a hand to investigate the veins, and find that it reacts to magic, as the healer casts mend wounds on the hand and the blood glows very faintly silvery blue. The wizard casts identify on the freshest body and they learn that the blood contains concentrated amounts of Mana, the force that allows use of magic. The runes are unknown to the identify spell. The bodies were all magic users with their mana amplified that were killed, that's what the identify spell can tell them.

They then go to investigate the site of the body, next to the grand market by the river. After doing some preparatory shopping, getting some Armor and potions, they find some footprints, faded by the tides, leading to a culvert to the sewers at the base of the bridge leading to the Fishing District. They decide to enter the Sewers.

On entering the sewers, they walk for a while and roll two nat 20s on perception checks, so they see that in the center, what feels to be somewhere just under the palace of Governance in Aerindale, there is a massive cistern with several cultists, some supplies, some dogs, cages, and two tables. One with maps and one with alchemist supplies and 6 bottles of Manablood, the Mana-amplified blood drained from these bodies. They go on to fight the cultists and absolutely decimate them, critting twice on the big lieutenant and turning one guy into a pile of mush with an acid chromatic orb, Incinerating another with burning hands, and saving one dog with the Animal Friendship spell, allowing the little guy to go free after the battle. They recover a book of these same runes, some treasures, a bunch of gold, and the bottles of blood as well as a map of the sewer system of Aerindale. They also see a Crystal Quartz dragons egg in the well in the center, but as soon as the wizard tries to mage hand it out, they all roll a perception check and initiative again to fight what comes down from the ceiling, a giant Caustic slime encasing this large crystal dragon skeleton. They end up reasoning with the slime by casting speak with animals (it's a creature, sue me) and the slime just wants to be free of the dragon, saying that the dragon cursed it and it's still somehow alive and talking to it. The party convinces it to let them help and yo expose the dragons skull, and it does, and on a NAT FUCKING TWENTY, the weakest member of the group, the cleric, channels the inner might of Bai Su Zhen, the healing snake god, and rips the head clean off the skeleton with the help of his friends. They free the slime and avoid combat after an intense round of ass-kicking battle, and get the dragon egg. They pocket it, and head off to Barney's house to meet with the professors and talk about their findings. They eat and get a long rest while they talk, and the prof. Sends them off to visit Tellomaine and ask him about this in person.

And that's where I ended the session.

Being a female plant Hippophae salicifolia ‘Streetwise’ (sea buckthorn, sallow thorn, swallow thorn, willow thorn) can provide a dramatic autumn and winter display of small, bright orange berries. This large deciduous shrub or small tree has a narrow upright habit, willow-like silvery leaves and thorny shoots.

Taking the role of The Danes, Shadowclan resides within the pine barrens in the northernmost part of Clan Territory. They are bordered by a Thunderpath to the west and south, which separate them from Windclan’s and Thunderclan’s territories respectively. To the north resides a small but deep river with an abandoned farm on the other side. This river runs to the western part of Shadowclan territory, where it feeds into a large marshland.

Cats with Shadowclan blood can be easily recognized by their large, soft paws and bright eyes that stand out against their famously dark pelts. They are often described as aloof and secretive, with a deep distrust for any cat outside of the clans. However, in the years since Mudstar’s death, Houndstar has worked to better their relations with the other Clans by fostering strong foundations of trust between them.

A surprisingly slightly lanky brown van pattered tom with ice blue eyes and slightly overgrown canines that poke out of his mouth. He’s reasonably thick coated albeit with a waterproof sheen of oil marking his status as a Shadowyield cat through and through. Marrowfang is covered in battle-marks - his right ear is torn and the top of his left appears to have been bitten off at some point. There’s a scar across his muzzle that he’s rather proud of. Ragged and poker-faced, it’s unsurprising that most cats assume Marrowfang is a guard rather than a crafter at first glance and his skills don’t do much to deter this train of thought.

Marrowfang struggled though his kithood with discomfort and irritability from the whispers surrounding him. Despite both of his parents’ consistent explanations and growing exasperation, his mother was repeatedly accused of being unfaithful to her mate and siring a cat from outside the clans. Marrowkit slowly learned to push back at the assumption that he was an affair kit just because his pelt is white - pointing out that his father has splotches of white after all - through it did little to change the clan’s perception of him.

 Irritated, Marrowpaw elected to become a craftcat training under Crowtalon when the opportunity presented itself. The dark furred tom was one of the few who didn’t participate in the rumors spreading through the camp and admittedly that was most of his motivation for becoming a crafter. There, he found himself someone to protect in the form of nervous, gentle Quiveringpaw and a best friend in the form of Willowpaw. It was a breath of fresh air to be around cats who didn’t care to speculate about his origins, that only cared to train with him. Crowtalon was a good mentor - quiet, serious and focused; everything Shadowyield admired in a warrior though resented having ‘trapped’ within the crafter’s rank.

 The chaotic energy radiated by his best friend and eventual partner-in-crime Willowpaw made his days interesting and he learned to not care about other cats’ opinions of him anymore. It surprised no-one when the two unceremoniously became mates not long after their promotions, confirming their status in a casual fashion though he pointedly doesn’t respond to prodding about kits and neither does Willowthorn. They’re not ready yet and anyone who had a problem with that could deal with it. As it is, they’ve agreed to talk about mentoring an apprentice each to get a feel for what it’s like to have kits before committing to the action as a whole.

Summary: In the wake of Berryshade’s banishment, Brightfur finds herself more lost than ever. Every attempt to bring Ravenwind to justice has failed, and now even StarClan has turned its back on her- what’s left for her to do?

When the mysterious rogue Clover begs for help, Brightfur is plunged into a world of sidewalks, kittypets, and blood feuds. And maybe, just maybe, Ravenwind will finally take things too far.

Chapter Title: Deal With the Devil

Excerpt:

He hadn't noticed her yet. Brightfur flattened herself against the side of some overhanging plants, hidden amongst the dangling vegetation. She watched with narrowed eyes as Scrap gingerly padded inside, inching along her little hideaway to keep out of his line of sight. Her lip drew back to reveal a canine.

Is this a test? Brightfur wondered. She couldn't imagine StarClan willingly bringing Berry's murderer to her paws unless it was to see if she was better than Ravenwind. If she would look Scrap in the eye and find it in her to forgive him of the various things he'd done in the short time she'd known his name- taking advantage of her kindness, abandoning Hazelkit and Dewkit, and ripping out Parsnip's eye in a fit of rage.

StarClan wanted her to be better than this sort of thing. Above it.

Brightfur crouched, tail-tip twitching.

StarClan should know me better by now.

Sorry for the delay! I had to juggle a few decisions with this chapter. Next chapter is a lot more relaxed! New apprentice times a-coming. =)
