After the first pilot was rejected, Star Trek was almost completely recast with the exception of Mr Spock (Leonard Nimoy). The first episode of Star Trek aired on September 8, 1966. While The Man Trap was the first episode to air, it was actually the 6th one produced. Supposedly it was chosen as having more action than the other episodes. It was also supposedly one of the least favorites of Leonard Nimoy and William Shattner. The episode took place during 2266 (eleven years after the events of The Cage, which was the original pilot and later recut as The Menagerie). The episode introduced Captain James T Kirk (William Shatner), Dr McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Yeoman Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney), Sulu (George Takei), Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and (off screen) Montgomery Scott (James Doohan). Hells ya lucky to see it can’t believe that adults always use people Like her as an example : she wadn’t shit and now she’s a worldwide superstar 🤩 so life changed I guess . I bet she is 12 or13. Still kind of weird that they exploit a young girl like that. I wouldn’t watch it but it brings back fond memories  

My favorite shows are American Dad, Two and a Half Men, & The UnXplained with William Shattner.. I will add more if I think of any.

One of my all-time favorite thing happens during the opening credits of The search for Spock. They show William Shatner name then there is a glorious near 7 second gap where there is no name then DeForest Kelly is shown. The second place where Leonard's name is always shown is a blank space but it is still acknowledged because no one can take that place. And it kind of truly implies the journey of the movie and the entire series. That Spock belongs by Kirks side even if he is not there anymore. That space could be empty visibly but can never be fulfilled by anything or anyone. That's Kirk Spock.That's Star Trek.

Just one another amazing beautiful and heartfelt felt thing about one of my favorite movie.

the spacex all-private inspiration4 mission (which is being run as a reality tv show) is using apple watches for its biometrics. they’re flying in a space capsule with all the equipment and controls stripped out to make it look smooth and pretty, in spacesuits designed by a marvel costume designer instead of engineers, wearing fucking apple watches for biometrics

the ship’s built like a fucking tesla and it uses a fucking touchscreen for controls
