i don't want to shit on anyone's performance, but i went to see cabaret and i was just... not impressed and didn't really get the... no bones wiggly arms gothic harlequin clown vibes? (plz explain this to me if i'm missing the point, but you get it.)

but i did see it in person many years back with natasha richardson (rip) as sally bowles and alan cumming as the emcee, and we had seats at a bar table close to the stage, and alan cumming stopped by our table and interacted with us briefly during the show and i was just like 🥵💀, so to be fair, i don't think any actor or production could really compare after that.

seeing that ukrainian production of cabaret blow up on tiktok and people Only talking about the emcee……… i have Opinions.

people only talking about the emcee and how attractive he is and ignoring everything else about the play…….. ignoring the bigger picture of the show…… only focusing on the flashy numbers and the parts happening Inside of the kit kat club even though most of the actual story happens outside the club with sally and cliff……. ignoring the underlying themes of fascism of the play……. only talking about the numbers that happen before tomorrow belongs to me…….. ignoring the political bigger picture of a show about the dangers of ignoring the political bigger picture and in an UKRAINIAN PRODUCTION ON TOP OF IT . proving the point of the show without even noticing 😭😭😭
