unbleached cotton, a caution to the rest
But one morning after school had called and all seemed quiet, a shocking circumstance occurred. Betty Briley came in dressed in indigo-blue, with short skirt and nankeen pantalettes. She made a great contrast between the back-wood girls in their long, scant skirts. The larger boys drew down their heads behind their slates and snickered; and Nat and Towhead put their heads close together and whispered, very low: but it broke the rules of the school. The teacher’s back was turned, too, but she heard all the same; and the way she jerked those little urchins off their seats into the middle of the room was a caution to the rest. She demanded an explanation of what they were saying; but they were so frightened that they could not have told if they would, and would not if they could. For punishment she thrust them down on a seat between some little girls — and one was Better Briley. It seemed a terrible disgrace. A flogging with those hickory wisps would not have seemed half so bad. It proved to be one of those never-to-be-forgotten lessons learned in the first days of school. The excitement soon died away, and it was not long before every girl in the country went into pantalettes. John Brown had many a puttering job dipping short lengths of unbleached cotton in his vats, after hides were taken out. Tan bark made durable nankeen color, and was thought to be cheaper. The circuit preacher came around every four weeks to hold meeting in the new schoolhouse, instead of in the deacon’s barn, which seemed more sanctimonious. For his dedication sermon he took for his text; “And a little child shall lead them,” and Nat wondered if it could be that the teacher meant Betty Briley; but he noticed that he did not say anything about pantalettes.

in chapter 24 “Bound for the Land of Sunshine,” Rufus Corey late in life takes his family out to “the bay region of San Diego county in Southern California, and they settled on a ranch in one of the valleys, in an adobe house shaded by a great pepper tree...” near the border with Mexico.
re: Estelle and Adelle Thomson, came across this letter to the editor of The Desert Magazine 2:12 (October 1939) :
Hollenbeck Home, Los Angeles, California Dear Mr. Henderson: We had never seen a copy of “Desert Magazine” unti three weeks ago — then a friend found one of February 1939 in a wastepaper truck — and brought it to us. We polished it and found it a jewel. In addition to being 93 and blind I have a broken bone and live in a wheelchair. My sister who is 84 takes care of me. She has not time to read . . . So we have five readers, who read such books as Longstreth’s “Laurentians,” all by Shackleton, “Land of Little Rain,” Mary Austin, etc. With our books we have traveled almost all civilized lands and some uncivilized. You may imagine how the “Desert” appealed to us. We found one current “Desert” issue, August, visited nearly every second hand magazine shop in Los Angeles and finally were rewarded with December 1937, July ’38 and May ’39. For some we paid fifty cents a copy. They were worth it! But we exhausted the supply. Fifty years ago I roamed over much of the wild land around San Diego and Tiajuana for Philadelphia “Times” and “Press.” My sister retired after 30 years as head cashier at Hotel del Coronado, with the advent of automobiles, coached thousands of guests (El Centro bound) as to the “jump” of sidewinders. A finished set. 9 locations from Slime Rancher. Not quite sure how to do the alt text for this one without it being an essay, but here goes:
[img ID: a grid of nine pixel art pieces showing different locations. The first is the Dry Reef, represented by three tall coral columns, pink grass, brown rocks, and a browny-orange ground.
The second is the Indigo Quarry, represented by purple cliffs, a group of hexagonal crystalline structures in blues and greens, green grass, and greyish-brown ground.
Third is the Glass Desert, represented by a flame-like glass structure in blues and greens, a cactus, and a large grey statue of an emoji-esque smiling face half sunk into the sandy floor.
Fourth is the Moss Blanket, represented by a giant toadstool with a red cap, green bushes and hanging vines, and a plant with glowing pink orbs instead of flowers.
Fifth is the Ancient Ruins, represented by a broken arch, red bushes, blue glow sticks and a tree with green foliage.
Sixth is the Nimble Valley, represented by a pine tree with brown needles, a floating island with grey metallic rocks emerging from it, and a sandy blue floor with swirling patterns.
Seventh is The Wilds, represented by a cave with a huge glowing depiction of a slime on its walls, a rock covered in glowing ancient designs representing slimes, and a kookadoba ball cracker.
Eighth is The Slimeulation represented by an exit portal containing a yellow, floating exit sign; a duplicate fruit tree; and a dark purple glitch patch.
Ninth is The Ranch, represented by a mechanical worker bee, the house, and a tree with pink foliage. /end ID]
#slime rancher#sometimes i make things: pixel art edition#you can probably tell I did the dry Reef and indigo quarry first#the others get more and more detailed and complicated#managing to keep things super simple is not a talent of mine#had to restart a couple of them bc I was just working in too much detail/realism#I just gravitate towards detail

If you’re still taking requests maybe Legend showing off his outfits from Triforce Heroes (if you consider that one of his games) or just the fierce deity outfit if that’s to much
Good grief! This one really took it away! I liked the prompt so much, and had so many ideas for it, that I think this might have to be a multi-parter (wasn't expecting that).
I touched on three outfits in this one, but I have six more I might do as well. For reference, I included the Kolkiri Clothes, Linebeck's Uniform and the Cozy Parka.
I also realized while writing this that this is the first time I've written from Wind's perspective, which is positively criminal!
I am still taking requests by the way! If you want to see something, shoot it at me!
(Fic below the cut)
It started so normal, Wind never thought it would get so insane.
They were in the Old Man’s Hyrule, too far from the ranch to make it by nightfall but close enough to still be in a relatively safe location. Time had called for them to set up camp and as they were close to a stream, Twilight had called for the additional order of baths.
Watching Twilight drag his protégé into the water was almost worth having to have his head scrubbed by Sky.
Most of them had taken the chance to cool off and mess around once they were clean, and while Warriors attempted to duck Time under the water (a mistake, they soon realized, when the man easily overpowered the captain, who ended up getting dunked instead) and Wild sat in a tree watching their backs (hanging up to dry, Twilight had joked), Wind found that the rest of them were content to swim idly in the water, with only the occasional splash from one or another of them. Usually, there would be more noise, but Twilight was teaching Hyrule to doggie paddle, and they needed calmer waters so as to not scare the Traveler.
He cast his eyes over their group. A red-faced Warriors was coughing and spluttering out insults at a smug looking Time (boy he needed his picto-box), Twilight was gently coaxing Hyrule to the other bank in a manner highly resemblant of a parent urging a baby to walk, Wild was keeping watch, and Sky was relaxing in the shallows.
Where were Four and Legend?
A glance upwards and a signed conversation with Wild later and Wind was making his way upstream a way, around a bend that blocked off most of the noise but that Wild could still see over if needed, to where Four and Legend sat together one the bank.
Or rather, Legend sat, Four was floating in the shallows with a curious expression as he watched the vet- cleaning clothes?
“We’re out here having a good time and you’re doing the laundry? Boring much.” He drawled, drawing the attention of the two heroes.
“I don’t like swimming around others.” Legend scrunched up his nose in disgust, it wiggled, almost cutely. “And my things needed a wash.”
He snorted, turning his questioning gaze to Four.
The smithy shrugged. “It’s quieter over here, and Wars will try and dunk me if he gets the chance.” A heavy sigh escaped the shortest hero. “He really needs to be taken down a notch some days.”
“Some days?” Legend snorted.
Wind just rolled his eyes. So, what if Wars had a bit of an ego and spent a lot of time messing with them? It was just the way the captain expressed himself, Wind would do the same if he could get away with it and had a few inches on the others.
A flash of color in the spring caught his attention, bright pink against the soft blue of the water, and he surged forwards. “What’s that?”
Legend’s hand hit his face as the vet reached out to push him back, effectively pushing the excited child under water, and for a brief moment, Wind could swear he saw a pink skirt drifting just before his face before it disappeared and he was popping up out of the water again with a splash.
“You have pink clothes?” He grinned at the bundle of fabric in the Vet’s hands.
“I have clothes in all colors.” Legend sniffed, batting another piece of fabric at him in a shooing motion.
“Doubt.” Four and Wind deadpanned. “Nobody has that much clothing.”
Legend’s face was drawn, eyes dark with that haunted look that Time sometimes got when looking at the moon. “I do.”
Wind and Four exchanged a look. “Why would you even need so much clothing?”
“Adventure number six.” Legend sighed, returning to his washing.
Another shared glance was exchanged and the two boys swam closer to the older teen. “And you used all of it?” Legend nodded. “All by yourself?”
The vet paused. “I had some...friends, with me.”
“You have friends?” Wind sat up again, who knew the Vet actually got along with people other than Ravio and Zelda?
“Ouch.”
“Yeah, Wind, that’s kinda mean.” Four murmured.
“I don’t mean you don’t have friends,” He huffed bangs from his eyes to look at Legend better, it did nothing, they still drifted into his view and cut off his view of the top of Legend’s hat. “I mean, we’ve never seen them so I didn’t realize you were on good terms with more people than Ravio.”
Legend shrugged. “You probably won’t ever meet them, I... became acquainted with them outside of Hyrule and they’ve never been seen leaving the land where we traveled together.”
“What were their names?” Four asked lazily, eyes trailing after leaves that floated off downstream towards where the others were.
Legend’s snort caught them off guard. “You don’t want to know.”
Now that was interesting, Legend never shied away from giving names to the people he had met in his travels, what was so different about these people? He’d had nothing against telling them Ravio’s name. “Why not?” Curiosity was tickling at his just like his hair was, and it was the only thing keeping him from ducking under again to relieve the itching of slowly-drying hair.
Legend cocked a brow at the two of them. “Their names are worse than ours.”
Now Wind really wanted to know! “What were they?”
Four echoed his question, eyes glinting in the light as he stared over at the vet, who was now beginning to pack away his things again. It took some nagging (something Wind had plenty of experience with) to finally get Legend to answer, but when he did, he didn’t disappoint.
“Red, Blue and Green. A set of nut cases if you ask me.” Legend drawled, not looking at them as he stuffed something glittery and gold in his bag. Four froze, eyes flashing four colors, one after another for a moment before he turned his sharp gaze on the vet.
“Did they call you Vio by any chance?”
Wind stared. “Why would they do that? He already has a name, he wouldn’t need to match, besides, Legend doesn’t even wear purple.”
“His eyes are purple.” Four pointed out, and Wind turned to very pointedly try and see what color Legend’s eyes actually were.
They were purple.
“No, they didn’t call me Vio,” Legend rolled his eyes, pushing Wind out of his face again. “They call me Link, same as any sane person does.”
“We’re sane.” Wind protested.
“Debatable.” The two older heroes deadpanned.
Wind pouted, but let it go, gaze drifting for a moment as he let silence fall over them. Four was staring at Legend in a suspicious manner, eyes blue again, but he didn’t say anything, and the vet didn’t seem keen on saying anything either, instead getting up and walking over to the clothes he had draped across one of the trees. He wasn’t kidding, it looked like a rainbow over there.
“So, if those things belonged to your friends, why do you have them?”
“Only one with a bottomless bag.” Came the clipped reply. “That and I’m the only one who’s likely to need them again.”
“Your friends don’t need clothes?” Four balked.
“No! Of course, they do!” Legend made a face, swatting a hand at Four. “Wild’s the only one who goes around naked, I’ll have you know, and if any of them had done the same they would have been shunned by the whole kingdom.” The vet huffed, voice dropping to a mutter. “What with the fashion laws and all.”
“So, if they already have clothes of their own, what did you need all for this for?” He gestured towards the various garments that Legend was still packing away.
“They’re all enchanted, or otherwise intended for special purposes.” The vet winced. “Hopefully I’ll never need most of them again, but there’s always the chance.”
“Will we ever get to see them?” He watched as Legend stuffed another garment into one of his bags many pockets.
“Hopefully never.” Legend spat.
But when did things ever go Legend’s way?
It was a hat first.
A battle in the forest ended with black blood spattered everywhere, but with Legend and Wild having provided support from the sidelines in the form of arrows flying across the battlefield, injuries were more scarce than normal.
Of course, that could be attributed to the fact that there had only been a few of the black-blooded monsters in the camp they had just destroyed.
As most of them had gathered their weapons and wiped away the blood, Wild had come leaping down from the treetops with Legend following after at a more sedate pace. Wind wondered if that was because of the Vet’s arthritis is because of the huge hat on his head.
“Nice accessories, do some shopping while we were down here fighting?” Wars snarked, huffing a laugh at the vet as Legend’s feet touched the earth again.
Indigo blue snapped at the captain as Legend adjusted the pointed cap. “No time for that when I have you all to keep an eye on.”
Twilight sniggered. “What’s with the hat, Ledge?”
“Yeah!” Wind bounded up to the older hero, eyes wide as he looked at the strange accessory. “Where did you get that?”
“Is that one of the things you got on your last adventure?” Four mused, sparking further excitement in the sailor, if it was, than maybe Legend would actually be willing to tell them more about it!
“Yeah, is it?”
No one addressed the confused stares of the taller heroes as their three shortest members conversed.
“Yeah,” Legend lifted the hat off and brushed at its brim in a clearly fond display; if he even attempted to say anything about hating his adventure again Wind was not going to believe him, not after that smile. “A Kolkiri hat, made to aid archers and help them shoot more arrows. I don’t usually use it, but it helps when you need to take out more than one enemy at once.”
“You could just learn to shoot better.” Wild chuckled, plucking at the hats brim only to have the garment whisked out of reach by a glaring veteran.
“I can shoot well; this just helps me see better because it blocks the freaking sun.”
“Kolkiri you say?” Time mused, stepping forwards to peer at the pointed green cap.
“Sure, you didn’t just steal it off of a witch?” Wars teased.
“No witch could replicate this sort of quality,” And if there wasn’t pride in his voice than Wind would eat his boots. “Not even the finest tailors in all of Hytopia could imitate it, and they’ve tried.” Legend spun the hat in his hands before popping it back on top of his head. “Don’t know the tailor, but what I wouldn’t give to learn their tricks. Kolkiri know what they’re doing, and they do it better than most Hylian craftsmen.”
Time was smirking, and Wind really wanted to know why. “You should see the tunics they can make.”
Legend returned the smirk. “Oh, I have, I own one.”
“As do I,” Their resident old man chuckles. “Although I doubt I could fit in it any longer.”
Wind giggles, trying to imagine Time in the clothes he’s seen on the spirits of the kolkiri, it’s hard, what with how big their leader is.
“Hat might fit you though.” And as the words ring through the air, Legend is already reaching up to pull the brim of his pointed hat over Time’s face. Their leader chuckles, brushing Legend off and adjusting the hat to sit more securely on his head.
Somehow, Time looks more comfortable in the hat than he does in his armor, and even though the two clash terribly, he doesn’t seem to mind, a light smile gracing his features as they set off again.
It’s a few days before Legend brings out another item from his collection of clothes, and when he does, it’s only after the others have drifted off to sleep. Wind would have been sleeping too, but you can only stay awake so long when your mind replays the horrors of the past, and Wind can only watch in silence for so long as giant ocean-monsters attempt to destroy those he loves the most. Tetra’s scream echoes in his own cracking voice as he startles awake.
The stars shine brightly overhead, brighter still as they blur from his tears. Despite what the others might say, or the confident way he tries to convey himself, Bellum frightens him, even now, and everything he had to deal with on that adventure... it weighs heavy on his mind.
A strangles sob escapes him as he sits up to bury his head in his knees, arms wrapped tight around his legs as he tries to shake of the after-effects of the dream.
That’s all it was, after all, just a dream.
Just like the Ocean King, like Lineback, like everything else in that world had been.
It’s just a dream.
“Hey,” Legend’s voice is soft and almost lost in his sobs and the crackling of the fire, but Wind is used to listening for even the softest of sounds in the night; be it due to Aryl having a night-terror –her own dreams aren’t free from their adventure- or someone sneaking around to make trouble. “Sailor, you all good?”
It’s clear he’s not, and he knows that, so Legend really has no business asking, but at the very least he isn’t being told to stop being a baby. “’m okay.” His own voice betrays him and Wind wants to sigh in irritation. Usually, he’d pout and groan at the way his voice cracks, but right now he doesn’t have the emotional or mental strength to do anything about it.
There’s shifting from across the camp, and even though his head is still pressed against his raised knees, he sees a flicker of golden pink in the firelight as Legend crouches down before him.
Thank Hylia the vet doesn’t sit back on his ankles, Wind doesn’t want to know if he’s not wearing shorts under that skirt of his.
“None of that now, what’s eating you?” It’s a weird term, especially coming from Legend, who’s usually so clipped and professional in his speech, and Wind can’t help but huff out a short laugh.
“Nothing,” His hand dashes across his eyes, wiping the tears away, only to have more of them prick at the corners. “Go back to watch, I’m fine.”
“And Twilight is a dog person.” Legend drawls. “Look, if you have an emotional moment or whatever, you’ll be tired as shit when we have to leave in the morning. I don’t know about you, but I don’t feel keen on dealing with another Sky.” It’s rough and gruff, but in a way that reminds him of Lineback rather than make him upset.
“I’m fine, just...” He dwells on his next words for a moment. He’s not scared, not really. It’s just the aftershock of a too-real dream about another too-real dream. He’s not really sad either, even if the island is gone now, he’s just... “I’m drained.” He whispers, scrubbing his eyes. “I miss everything back at home but,” He pauses, wondering briefly if Legend could even understand what he’s trying to express. “I guess I miss the things that aren’t there too.”
“Like what?” He doesn’t look up, but he knows the exact expression on Legend’s face; brow raised and mouth pulled into a thoughtful frown.
“Places... people. It’s all just dreams but..” He fiddles with the end of his blanket. “I miss the warmth of them I guess, miss the sea and the islands, even the fake ones, they were so... comforting.” He chuckles, surprising himself with the bitterness that tinges his own voice. “Even if I did spend so much of that time trying not to get killed.”
“Warmth, huh?” Legend hums. There’s a brief pause, one Wind almost takes for Legend rolling his eyes and deciding to leave him to his thoughts, but then there’s a brief rustling and something warm and thick settles over his shoulders as Legend sits at his side. “It’s no pirate uniform, but it still smells like the sea, if that helps at all.”
Wind wants to tease Legend for the sentimentality and love in the action, but when he turns to look at the Vet, his gaze falls instead on the royal blue coat that has been draped around his shoulders.
Too-long sleeves fall to fold at his waist while the rest of the long coat trails and puddles around him, rich, warm fabric blocking out the night chill. It’s a lovely coat, but it’s painfully familiar, and Wind finds himself running his fingers over the stitching and inspecting every detail with a precision that he only ever shows to his swordsmanship and sailing.
His eyes don’t fool him either, the coat is an exact copy of Lineback’s own.
“Where... where did you get this?”
“Like it?” The vet chuckles softly. “Hytopian tailors. It’s a sea-coat, made to aid traveling sailor’s in searching for treasure. Don't ask me how it works though,” A ringed hand waves lazily overhead. “I could never make sense of it all. What matters is that it’s warm, not even the ocean can chill you in that thing, and trust me,” Buck teeth and small canines shouldn’t look so chilling, but Legend’s smile is just that. “It’s tried.”
Wind decides not to push it. There’s no way Legend could know about Lineback, not with the gaps of time and timelines between them. So, instead, he nestles down into the coat, one which bears the promised scent of the sea, with just a hint of smoke and rum to it, and lets his mind drift off again while Legend hums something under his breath.
The vet doesn’t realize he’s humming any less than he realizes Wind is slumping into him, but by the time he does recognize it, Wind is out cold, his head pressed against Legend’s shoulder, the coat still draped over him as he snores softly. Legend doesnt push down the warmth in his chest as he smiles down at the golden curls, no one will see him anyway. Gnarled fingers decked out with countless rings card through sun-bleached curls as a lilting melody pierces the silence around them, no one will hear it anyway.
In the days to come, Legend allows Wind to don the heavy sea-coat from that night. Warriors makes a comment about poor coordination between fabrics, and while Legend doesn’t seem to disagree, both of the older heroes seem of the opinion that it's for the best he holds onto it, what with the cold and all.
The last switch landed them in the mountains, and while the Hyrule they are in has not yet been confirmed, everyone knows one thing for sure: it’s cold. Wind buries his face in the raised collar of the heavy sea-coat, which, despite being in Legend’s bag for so long and the vet refusing to smoke or sail, much less swig rum, the coat smells of all three, and Wind buries a smile at the thought that maybe Legend didn’t get it new like he’d let on.
It does a good job of keeping him warm though.
He wishes he could say the same for Four.
The poor smithy refuses to be carried, but as snow whips around them as they trek through the knee-high snow, the diminutive smith is left chattering and shivering in their wake.
It really shouldn’t be a surprise that Legend has something to help with that.
Yes, the vet still isn’t wearing pants, but he doesn’t seem too poorly off, no matter how badly the others shiver. He and Wild only share a look and scoff when Warriors asks through chattering teeth how the two of them aren’t freezing.
“You should see the mountains in my Hyrule.” Wild chuckles brightly.
“Done this before, cold is cold, you get used to it.” Legend grins, swinging his fire-rod.
“N-not all of us c-can s-st-stand the c-c-cold.” Four chatters grumpily, sounding startlingly close to the minish he’s shown Wind in the past. “Jer-jerks.”
The concern on the faces of the taller heroes is obvious, but with Twilight’s teeth chattering nearly madly (the rancher's nose is somehow frozen) and Time wrapped as tight as possible in one of Wild’s extra cloaks, it’s clear most of the others don’t have warm things to spare.
They were separated in landing in this world, and even when they had all been pulling themselves together again it had become clear that there was nothing of Wild’s that could even fit the smithy, and not even the blue scarf that trails over his shoulders seems to be doing much good against the freezing winds.
“Hang on a sec.” legend huffs, already turning to rustle through his bag. The coat he pulls out is ridiculously plushy, and in a soft shade of violet that makes Four chuckle past his chattering teeth. The chattering doesn’t last for much longer though, not when shoves the garment over Four’s head like Wind has done to his sister so many times with the sweaters Granny has knit them. The smithy’s blond hair is mused beyond recognition, chunky and flying every which way as he pushes his face out of the plush, but the healthy flush to his cheeks assures the rest of them that he won’t be freezing any time soon.
“I- Oh...” Whatever Four was about to say cuts off as he looks down at himself. The coat is long, but not too long. Where Wild’s shirts would drown the smithy, a coat made for Legend only brushes against the smithy’s ankles.
Legend smirks. “It prevents slipping too.”
“Why aren’t you wearing it then?” Hyrule questions, the Traveler’s cheeks are rosy in the cold, but borrowed clothes from Wild, while also too big, seem to be keeping him warmer.
Legend winces. “It’s a pain to get off.”
“And inconvenience is enough reason to freeze?”
“Do I look cold to you, captain?” Legend snarks, turning an expectant look on Warriors. “Because I certainly don’t feel it.”
“Stop rubbing it in.” The captain huffs, unfortunately too big to borrow from the others, and now highly irritable from the cold. His scarf is still on Four, and if what Legend says is right about the coat, Wars won’t be getting it back for a while, leaving the poor captain to shiver as he clings to another fire-rod.
Four seems comfy enough anyway.

Henry Stickmin - Slime Rancher Au
This picture has been a long time in the making and I have a lot to say for this au, individual pictures and info dump under the cut (warning though, it’s pretty long)
General Information:
As you can probably guess, this au takes place on the Far Far Range instead of on Earth. The Henry Stickmin characters are now slime ranchers, each with their own reasons for going to the Range.
It mostly follows the game itself, but with a few differences. In this au, each rancher has the ability to bond with and keep a slime as a pet. This slime will act like any normal Earth pet, but perhaps a bit more intelligent.
Henry Stickmin
The newest rancher on The Far Far Range. He came to the Range because of a lack of opportunities back home (and a criminal record). His ranch is the same as Beatrix’s (the character you play as in game) and the slime he bonded with was the first he came across.
The pink slime and himself were fighting over a carrot, but the slime won and refused to leave Henry’s ranch. The little guy grew on him and they’ve stuck together ever since.
Charles Calvin
He’s practically a veteran slime rancher, though he’s only been at the Far Far Range for less than a year. He first came to the Range with his former employer and adoptive father, Hubert Galeforce, and use to be apart of the army.
The Government section that they had been apart of had been becoming corrupt. Galeforce, who had been a general at the time, had tried to sabotage their efforts to exploit people, but he had been found out. He was immediately demoted and fired, Charles deciding to quit with him. They both came to The Far Far Range for a new start.
Despite all of this, Charles still makes sure to greet any new rancher enthusiastically, offering any help he could. His slime is a phosphor he found that was being attacked by some of the feral largos in The Wilds. He saved it and took it back to his Ranch, they bonded as the phosphor slime had healed. The phosphor’s headset allows it to go out in the day, but it still prefers the night.
Ellie Rose
One of the only ranchers brave enough (or crazy enough) to have her ranch in The Glass Dessert. Luckily, she’s set her ranch in between a few oasises and she has a fountain in the middle of it. Like Henry, she went to the Far Far Range because of a criminal record.
She found her slime when she was looking for plorts to activate the fountain. She fed the first tangle slime she came across, but then noticed the odd colouring of the tangle’s flower. It was a nightshade tangle. She became interested in this rare slime and decided to take it in. They bonded and are now ‘partners in crime’ (figuratively and literally).
Reginald Copperbottom
The current leader of The Toppat Clan. He was born and raised on The Far Far Range in the Toppat’s main base of operation, The Toppat Ranch.
He had found his slime when he was just a child. He had been visiting The Moss Blanket with his parents, but had been separated by some feral pink boom largos. He stumbled into The Moss Flower Field, and found a royal jelly honey slime. He kept it and it had gotten quite a bit of attention from the clan, helping to get him a high position when he was older.
He took over the clan from Terrence and is the sixth leader of The Toppat Clan since they went to The Far Far Range. He was always curious about Earth and the creatures living there.
Right Hand Man
Reginald’s right hand man, he joined the clan soon after arriving at The Far Far Range. Not much is known about his past as he has refused to tell anyone, even Reginald, about his time there. He does answer some of Reginald’s basic questions though, like ‘What are dogs and cats?’ or ‘Are there really no slimes on Earth?’
He was half forced to join the clan, as he had gotten caught trying to steal from them. Randy had been leader at the time and had allowed him to live if he had joined the clan. He had been at odds with Reginald at first, the two having been rivals of sorts. But after some trouble at Ash Isle, they came out closer and with a ruby red crystal slime for Right.
Sven Svensson
Sven is a fairly young and high ranking rancher of The Toppat Clan, he was born on The Far Far Range, but his parents were both Swedish. He used to stay in The Indigo Quarry, but now mostly operates in the Moss Blanket.
He found his slime in the indigo quarry after a bad day. He was alone with a rock slime and very frustrated, so he did the normal person thing and vented to the slime. The slime was a good listener so it became Sven’s pet.
Dave Panpa
He was rather unlucky back on Earth, he had lost multiple jobs despite trying his best, so he thought he might have better luck on the Far Far Range. And he did! For a couple of days... The Toppat Clan raided the ranch he was stationed at, kidnapping him for information.
Of corse, he had only been there a few days, so he had no information. The Toppats didn’t hurt him, but he was stuck in a cell for a while. The Toppats probably weren’t as vigilant with his cell as they would have been if Dave had known anything, so Dave managed to escape.
He didn’t know where he was going, he didn’t have any equipment, all he knew was that he was somewhere either in or close to the Indigo Quarry. He stumbled around blindly until he came across a twinkle slime.
This slime was known as a myth, but here one was, singing while hovering gently in the air. Dave didn’t know what else to do, so he sat and listened to the slime, unknowingly forming a bond with the twinkle slime. (The twinkle slime will not explode in this au)
Dmitri Johannes Petrov
The warden of the one and only prison complex in the Far Far Range. He used to run a prison complex on Earth, but was requested to go to the Far Far Range to take care of criminals and the Toppat Clan. He accepted and has been on the Far Far Range ever since.
He had come across his tabby slime while checking on the new recruits, noting its similarities to cats back home. He decided to keep it as a memory of home and has grown quite attached to it.
Grigori Olyat
He had come to the Far Far Range as Dmitri’s right hand man and muscle. He didn’t have anything to leave behind, so he might as well have gone with him to the Far Far Range. He overlooks the most dangerous prisoners’ admittance.
He found his slime while persuing an attempted escapee. The slime had jumped out of nowhere and tripped up the prison, giving Grigori the chance to apprehend him. He kept the heavy metal rock slime and it now helps him keep order among the prisoners.
((Hope you enjoy this! I do plan to do more characters in time))

Slime Rancher Ninjago AU (kinda)
Lloyd: On the range exchange, he only requests fruits and sometimes plorts. (I'm planning on making his sprite soonish.) He offers his range exchange up after you reach the moss blanket, which holds his most prized resource. (Mint mangos, but you didn't hear that from me.) He raises exclusively honey slimes, though he usually makes the pure slimes into largos to get more valuable plorts. his favorite honey largos to ranch are rad honeys, but also honey hunters. He just thinks they’re adorable (and, as you might be able to tell, there is no line between cute and dangerous in his mind.) He used to live with his parents on the ranch, but his father had radiation poisoning and burns, and it was taking a number on him, so his dad went back to earth to get treatment for the huge amounts of radiation that he had been exposed to from wrangling the slimes. His mother on the other hand, was studying the ancient ruins until she pretty much lived there. He was maybe 10 when he was first left to fend for himself on the ranch. He was looking for his mom in the ancient ruins when a little... incident happened, causing the time around him to speed up so exponentially that only a few seconds of real time had gone by, but he was suddenly sixteen when the time dilation stopped. Since then, he has had an exponential distaste for the ancient ruins and quantum slimes.
Zane: On the range exchange, his requests are quite rare, and are usually for plorts and the occasional silver parsnip order. He raises mosaic slimes, and dabbles a bit in slime science, you find out right away that he's a robot in his first starmail to you. He was an android programmed by an old rancher, even older than Hobson or Thora, that just couldn’t do his own job anymore. His creator had a husband with him that had died a few years prior to Zane’s creation, but Zane always viewed him as his father as well. The old rancher taught him how to ranch and wrangle slimes, and how to take care of them correctly before he passed on. Zane always had an affinity for the cold, but after seeing his first mosiac, he just couldn’t resist ranching the little guys. He was fireproof after all.
Cole: He only requests food on the range exchange, any types of food really! His orders evolve as you unlock areas accordingly (briar hens in the moss blanket and oca ocas when you unlock the indigo quarry are just a few examples.). He requests mostly veggies, with some orders for meat or fruit on the side. Though he says it's for the slimes, you can't help but suspect that he sometimes eats some of it himself! he raises rock slimes and crystal slimes. He never asks for mint mangoes though, and when asked, he says something about them tasting like toothpaste. Ever since he first heard of The Far, Far Range, it had always been his dream to go there. His father, however, had different plans for him. His father had always wanted his son to follow in his footsteps and become a performer, and wouldn’t even listen to cole’s protests as he forced him through dance classes, saying it was going to help him in the future. As soon as he could work, he worked his ass off at the best job he could find, saving it all up for that life changing trip. Every cent of the money he was given went into his fund to go and live on the far far range. As soon as he finished highschool, he said adios to his dad, taking only his giant jar of money and his climbing gear to start ranching.
Kai: He usually asks for plorts, probably to make himself a spot of money on the side to his jobs of taming and exploring the glass desert and raising fire slimes (causing the occasional ask for burnable items) He was actually the first ever person born on the far far range, born to a young couple making their mark on the world by only ranching slimes that they knew would be easily accessed by the poor. He was soon joined by his little sister, Nya. When he was twelve, their parents disappeared, leaving him and Nya to take care of the ranch.
jay: oh god does this guy make millions. He primarily works for mochi gathering quicksilver plorts, and as a side job with a hint of danger, he likes taking care of boom largos. at the first sign of a lucky or gold slime, he's off! he's also a walking slimepedia jesus. He's often cooped himself up at home when not working for mochi or chasing some rare slimes doing slime science! he mostly requests slime science materials (primordy oil, that kinda stuff) and plorts. Jay was the offspring of a rancher and a reality TV show
nya: she has some of the best trades in the game, even though some of them can be tricky, and it's worth time and effort completing her trades! She trades for slightly rare slimes (rad, crystal, and quantum, for example) and reimburses you with rare items and a good sum of newbucks! She, like her brother, raises the unconventional slime types of puddle slimes, but she's easily the most risky out of the group, because she has mastered The Wilds, though unlike odgen, she doesn't enjoy the kookadoba. she's also the one to call when a tarr outbreak occurs, as she's modified her vacpac to have a spray gun mode where it sprays water.
pixal: on the range exchange, she requests everything related to the ancient ruins, including phase lemons, quantum slimes, along with quantum plorts. she, along with her father cyrus research the ancient ruins, and they also dabble in slime science. she and zane are acquainted, mostly because their ranches are so close to eachother. she is the master of keeping quantum slimes. She is the robot assistant, and kind of daughter, of cyrus borg. They have a ranch near the ancient ruins, as most of their studies surround them. She also has a bit of a reason to believe that the ones who created the ruins in the first place were humanoid in form and in thinking process, though she has little proof of it.
this is all i’m gonna write for today cause my hands r tired.

How Denim Became a Political Symbol of the 1960s
https://sciencespies.com/history/how-denim-became-a-political-symbol-of-the-1960s/
How Denim Became a Political Symbol of the 1960s
In the spring of 1965, demonstrators in Camden, Alabama, took to the streets in a series of marches to demand voting rights. Among the demonstrators were “seven or eight out-of-state ministers,” United Press International reported, adding that they wore the “blue denim ‘uniform’ of the civil rights movement over their clerical collars.”
Though most people today don’t associate blue denim with the struggle for black freedom, it played a significant role in the movement. For one thing, the historian Tanisha C. Ford has observed, “The realities of activism,” which could include hours of canvassing in rural areas, made it impractical to organize in one’s “Sunday best.” But denim was also symbolic. Whether in trouser form, overalls or skirts, it not only recalled the work clothes worn by African Americans during slavery and as sharecroppers, but also suggested solidarity with contemporary blue-collar workers and even equality between the sexes, since men and women alike could wear it.
To see how civil rights activists adopted denim, consider the photograph of Martin Luther King Jr. and Ralph Abernathy marching to protest segregation in Birmingham, Alabama, in 1963. Notably, they are wearing jeans. In America and beyond, people would embrace jeans to make defiant statements of their own.

Scholars trace denim’s roots to 16th-century Nîmes, in the South of France, and Genoa, in northwestern Italy. Many historians suspect that the word “denim” derives from serge de Nîmes, referring to the tough fabric French mills were producing, and that “jeans” comes from the French word for Genoa (Gênes). In the United States, slaveowners in the 19th century clothed enslaved fieldworkers in these hardy fabrics; in the West, miners and other laborers started wearing jeans after a Nevada tailor named Jacob Davis created pants using duck cloth—a denimlike canvas material—purchased from the San Francisco businessman Levi Strauss. Davis produced some 200 pairs over the next 18 months—some in duck cloth, some in denim—and in 1873, the government granted a patent to Davis and Levi Strauss & Co. for the copper-riveted pants, which they sold in both blue denim and brown duck cloth. By the 1890s, Levi Strauss & Co. had established its most enduring style of pants: Levi’s 501 jeans.
Real-life cowboys wore denim, as did actors who played them, and after World War II denim leapt out of the sagebrush and into the big city, as immortalized in the 1953 film The Wild One. Marlon Brando plays Johnny Strabler, the leader of a troublemaking motorcycle gang, and wears blue jeans along with a black leather jacket and black leather boots. “Hey Johnny, what are you rebelling against?” someone asks. His reply: “Whaddaya got?”
In the 1960s, denim came to symbolize a different kind of rebelliousness. Black activists donned jeans and overalls to show that racial caste and black poverty were problems worth addressing. “It took Martin Luther King Jr.’s March on Washington to make [jeans] popular,” writes the art historian Caroline A. Jones. “It was here that civil rights activists were photographed wearing the poor sharecropper’s blue denim overalls to dramatize how little had been accomplished since Reconstruction.” White civil rights advocates followed. As the fashion writer Zoey Washington observes: “Youth activists, specifically members of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, used denim as an equalizer between the sexes and an identifier between social classes.”
But denim has never belonged to just one political persuasion. When the country music star Merle Haggard criticized hippies in his conservative anthem “Okie From Muskogee,” you bet he was often wearing denim. President Ronald Reagan was frequently photographed in denim during visits to his California ranch—the very picture of rugged individualism.
And blue jeans would have to rank high on the list of U.S. cultural exports. In November 1978, Levi Strauss & Co. began selling the first large-scale shipments of jeans behind the Iron Curtain, where the previously hard-to-obtain trousers were markers of status and liberation; East Berliners eagerly lined up to snag them. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, when Levis and other American jean brands became widely available in the USSR, many Soviets were gleeful. “A man hasn’t very much happy minutes in his life, but every happy moment remains in his memory for a long time,” a Moscow teacher named Larisa Popik wrote to Levi Strauss & Co. in 1991. “The buying of Levi’s 501 jeans is one of such moments in my life. I’m 24, but while wearing your jeans I feel myself like a 15-year-old schoolgirl.”
Back in the States, jeans kept pushing the limits. In the early 1990s, TLC, one of the best-selling girl groups of all time, barged into the boys’ club of hip-hop and R&B wearing oversized jeans. These “three little cute girls dressed like boys,” in the words of Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas, one of the group’s members, inspired women across the country to mimic the group’s style.
Curiously, jeans have continued to make waves in Eastern Europe. In the run-up to the 2006 presidential elections in Belarus, activists marched to protest what they characterized as a sham vote in support of an autocratic government. After police seized the opposition’s flags at a pre-election rally, one protester tied a denim shirt to a stick, creating a makeshift flag and giving rise to the movement’s eventual name: the “Jeans Revolution.”
The youth organization Zubr urged followers: “Come out in the streets of your cities and towns in jeans! Let’s show that we are many!” The movement didn’t topple the government, but it illustrated that this everyday garment can still be revolutionary.
Why the dye that would put the blue in jeans was banned when it reached the West —Ted Scheinman
Fabrics soaked with indigo dye in Dali, Yunnan Province, China. “No color has been prized so highly or for so long,” Catherine E. McKinley writes.
(Alamy)
It might seem odd to outlaw a pigment, but that’s what European monarchs did in a strangely zealous campaign against indigo. The ancient blue dye, extracted in an elaborate process from the leaves of the bushy legume Indigofera tinctoria, was first shipped to Europe from India and Java in the 16th century.
To many Europeans, using the dye seemed unpleasant. “The fermenting process yielded a putrid stench not unlike that of a decaying body,” James Sullivan notes in his book Jeans. Unlike other dyes, indigo turns cloth vivid blue only after the dyed fabric has been in contact with air for several minutes, a mysterious delay that some found unsettling.
Plus, indigo represented a threat to European textile merchants who had heavily invested in woad, a homegrown source of blue dye. They played on anxieties about the import in a “deliberate smear campaign,” Jenny Balfour-Paul writes in her history of indigo. Weavers were told it would damage their cloth. A Dutch superstition held that any man who touched the plant would become impotent.
Governments got the message. Germany banned “the devil’s dye” (Teufelsfarbe) for more than 100 years beginning in 1577, while England banned it from 1581 to 1660. In France in 1598, King Henry IV favored woad producers by banning the import of indigo, and in 1609 decreed that anyone using the dye would be executed.
Still, the dye’s resistance to running and fading couldn’t be denied, and by the 18th century it was all the rage in Europe. It would be overtaken by synthetic indigo, developed by the German chemist Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Adolf von Baeyer—a discovery so far-reaching it was awarded a Nobel Prize in 1905.

5E Homestuck Troll
Time to do another homebrew race because I’m bored! This time, the trolls from Homestuck and Hivebent--well, some of them anyway. I know some people have tried their hands at this, but I wasn’t satisfied by what I found online. Therefore, I did my own! Aaaaaand I’m still not quite satisfied by the results. But hey, it’s a base! Maybe I’ll make racial-exclusive feats later... Actually I should make caste-exclusive feats. And I skipped out on the Limebloods and Fuschias because, well, one’s extinct and one’s exclusive and this is complicated enough.
The trolls and Homestuck were originally made by Andrew Hussie. I’ve put the actual ‘mechanics’ below the cut, this post was getting long.
———————
Alternian Troll: Ability Scores: Vary, see Caste and Role Size: Medium Speed: 30 feet Languages: Alternian and Common
Age: Trolls age at about the same rate as humans, but their constant battling and brutal home mean most of them never reach old age. Lower castes tend to die earlier than higher castes, with redbloods edging out in their early forties while purplebloods can live for centuries. Alignment: Trolls tend to shy away from Good alignments, since showing any sign of kindness can bring the attention of superiors who will cull them for it. The lower castes are more Chaotic in nature, while the higher castes take great pride in upholding their own Law.
The dominant species on the harsh planet of Alternia, and of an ever-expanding galactic empire, trolls are a race of paradoxically empathetic and callous people. From the time they hatch out of the mother grub’s egg, they are subject to repeat examinations by the empire for any weaknesses or imperfections, with those that fail to live up to the exacting standards culled by merciless Imperial Drones. If they aren’t crushed as wigglers in the brooding caverns, they must prove their worth in trials after they pupate, and if they survive that they are handed off to a wild animal that will ‘raise’ them in machine-built homes. If they survive for ten challenging solar sweeps on the surface of the planet, roughly equivalent to twenty one earth years, the trolls will finally be drafted into the ongoing conquest of other worlds.
The trolls that emerge from the caverns are grey-skinned humanoids, with sharp teeth and voluminous black hair. Both their fingernails and their eyes start out as yellow, but their irises will fill with their blood color as they age. One of the most notable physical features they have are their horns, which are red at their base but pale through orange stripes to yellow at the tips; the exact shape of these horns varies between individuals, and they aren’t even always symmetrical. Some minor mutations run rampant through the species--most are culled upon being spotted, but a troll may have extra pupils, eyes, or occasionally even limbs. And on top of all that, trolls who have lost limbs, eyes, or other body parts may elect to replace them with cybernetic replacements to avoid being culled.
The culture of Alternia is heavily shaped by the presence of the Hemospectrum. Troll blood can vary in color, and their physiology will be altered depending on what shade runs through their veins. This has led trolls to establish a caste system based primarily on the color of blood an individual has, with most trolls wearing their personal symbol somewhere on their clothing and usually dressing in clothes of their blood color. Ranging from red at the lowest to fuschia at the highest, troll society is heavily stratified; higher castes can often exploit lower castes, and even kill them if they find need to. That said, lower castes can and do kill social superiors on occasion; in the eyes of the empire, if the superior couldn’t maintain order anyway, they deserved to die before being entrusted with the responsibility of helping the conquest.
Despite the pressures of both the hemospectrum and the looming threat of the empire culling them, trolls are still kids trying to grow up and need as much affection as any other sapient being. They desperately seek friendship and even romance (though for trolls, that is a very complicated subject) while trying not to provoke a conflict that could result in their death or, occasionally, the death of their companions. It is possible that, if they are removed from the highly toxic Alternian culture, a troll could become as noble and good-hearted as any other person. That said, it’s pretty likely they’d never lose their sarcastic edge.
Troll names and surnames are each six letters long, generally being some semi-obscure reference to legend. As they grow and achieve fame, a troll may choose to take a title, generally comprised of eight letter words with more descriptive and direct purpose.
———————
Cull or be Culled: The brutal life of their home planet gives all trolls an informal combative training. Choose to be proficient in any one martial weapon OR to have your unarmed strikes do 1d4+your strength damage.
Night Stalkers: Alternia’s powerful sun burns most creatures that venture into the day, so the trolls evolved to walk under the twin moons. You have Darkvision for up to 60 feet.
Seething Heart: Kindness is a weakness on Alternia, and callousness is a strength. All trolls can cast the Vicious Mockery cantrip.
Caste and Role: Trolls are a physically and culturally diverse species, defined by the Hemospectrum from hatching. To determine a troll’s stat boosts and starting proficiencies, pick one choice from each of the following lists. CASTE: Your place on the greater Hemospectrum. You’re either a Lowblood, a Midblood, or a Highblood. ROLE: Your general role in the caste you’re in. You’re either a Layman, a Laborer, or a Lawmaker.
———————
LOWBLOOD
The lowest of the low, these warmblooded common folk make the foundation of every caste above them. Be it through janitorial service, resource farming, or tech support, these short-lived trolls are set into service, with no thanks and the tendency to be abused at the whims of their superiors. This has bred a lot of anger and resentment, which lowbloods vent through their assorted psionic powers.
Of this caste, Redbloods are the Laymen, Brownbloods are the Laborers, and Goldbloods are the Lawmakers.
LOWBLOOD FEATURES:
Tough It Out: Lowbloods get +2 to their Constitution score.
Live By Your Wits: Lowbloods choose proficiency in one of Arcana, Deception, or Perception skills.
Psionic Edge: Any time a spell has you roll dice, you can raise or lower the dice by one type, according to the following list: D4 D6 D8 D10 D12 D20. You can do this once per long rest.
MIDBLOOD
Also called the greens, the midbloods serve as the middle class of Alternian society. Whether it be seeking out criminals, helping the next generation come into being, or just serving tables, a midblood’s life is one of keeping the society running, even if they personally disagree with what that society does. As their castes rub shoulders with both low and highbloods, there tends to be a wild variety of personalities in this group.
Of this caste, Olivebloods are the Laymen, Jadebloods are the Laborers, and Tealbloods are the Lawmakers.
MIDBLOOD FEATURES:
Quick Reflexes: Midbloods get +2 to their Dexterity score.
Honed Instincts: Midbloods choose proficiency in one of Acrobatics, Insight, or Stealth skills.
It’s A Living: You gain expertise on any one proficiency from your class, background, caste, or role.
HIGHBLOOD
The cream of the crop, highbloods are only beneath the Seadwellers on the Hemospectrum--and since the seadwellers dwell, well, in the sea, that means the Highbloods basically have free reign over Alternia. They use this power to create art, culture, and religion, usually by breaking somebody beneath them for the sake of their expression. While they’re generally an orderly bunch, it’s not uncommon for them to fly into a murderous rage for whatever reason.
Of this caste, Ceruleanbloods are the Laymen, Indigobloods are the Laborers, and Purplebloods are the Lawmakers.
HIGHBLOOD FEATURES:
Strongblood: Highbloods get +2 to their Strength score.
Social Darwinism: Highbloods choose proficiency in one of Intimidation, Religion, or Survival skills.
Down But Not Out: If you are ever reduced to 0 or less hitpoints, you may choose to instead be reduced to 1 hitpoint. You can use this ability once per long rest.
———————
LAYMEN
The grease that make the gears of civlization turn smoothly, Laymen (or Laydies) are the Alternian oddjobbers, bouncing from workplace to workplace as they need to. Reds, Olives, and Ceruleans may each seek out different kinds of commisions, but they’re unified in their ability to adjust to new circumstances with quick efficiency.
LAYMAN FEATURES:
Street Smarts: Laymen get +1 to their Intelligence score.
Cunning Eyes: Laymen choose proficiency in one of Investigation, Nature, or Sleight of Hand skills.
Basic Goods: Laymen select proficiency with one of the following: Carpenter’s Tools, Cobbler’s Tools, Cook’s Utensils, Mason’s Tools, Tinker’s Tools, or Woodcarver’s Tools.
LABORERS
Every society has things that need to be moved around and maintained, and it is this duty that the Laborers serve. Be it ranching animals, watching over wigglers, or maintaining museums, these trolls make sure their society stays alive and (by some definitions) thriving. It’s unfortunate that their roles tend to lock them to a specific places; Browns would probably love to compare notes with Jades about raising young, and both might find the Indigo’s fascination with art interesting.
LABORER FEATURES:
A Life Well Lived: Laborers get +1 to their Wisdom score.
Personal Health: Laborers choose proficiency in one of Animal Handling, Athletics, or Medicine skills.
Fashionable Goods: Laborers select proficiency with one of the following: Glassblower’s Tools, Jeweler’s Tools, Leatherworker’s Tools, Potter’s Tools, Smith’s Tools, or Weaver’s Tools.
LAWMAKERS
What’s right? What’s wrong? How do I do this thing? To the Lawmakers fall those questions, and so long as their superiors approve of the answers they will do their best to provide them. Golds are tied to the computing networks of the land, Teals do their best to enforce the laws, and Purples serve as the religious advisors of Trollkind. That they’re all very brutal, both in what they preach and how they act, might disturb some people, but if they know what’s wise for them they’ll keep their mouths shut.
LAWMAKER FEATURES:
Grand Persona: Lawmakers get +1 to their Charisma score.
Theatre of the Mind: Lawmakers choose proficiency in one of History, Performance, or Persuasion skills.
Luxury Goods: Lawmakers select proficiency with one of the following: Alchemist’s supplies, Brewer’s supplies, Calligrapher’s supplies, Cartographer’s Tools, Painter’s supplies, or any one Instrument.

SEADWELLER
With violet blood, finned gills on their neck, and a superiority complex as big as the sun, Seadwellers are at the top of the heap and direct the lives of their lesser kin with ruthless glee. They only bow to two women: the Empress and, maybe, the Heiress. However, while they be on the top rung of society, they still have to deal with the dangers every troll must--deadly wildlife, angry mobs, and the constant threat of culling if they don’t live up to the empire’s high standards.
To play a seadweller, take the standard troll template above, complete with Caste and Role, then do the following:
Replace Psionic Edge, It’s A Living, or Down But Not Out with Amphibious: You can breathe in water and in air.
Remove Basic Goods, Fashionable Goods, or Luxury Goods from your list. Seadwellers do not make things, they throw money around.
Gain the feature Boon of Dollars: You can get a discount of 10 times your Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma modifier (whichever is highest) GP on everything you purchase. If this discount would reduce your purchase to below 1 GP, you do not get the discount.

Mel’s Big Fantasy Place-Name Reference

A lot of places are named after historical events, battles, and people, so keep that in mind. God/Goddess names tied to your world also work well. Places are also often named after things that the area is known for, like Georgia being known for its peaches.
My brain was fried by the end of this so feel free to add more!
I hope you find this reference helpful and good luck world-building!
