Just wasted so much time working on a spontaneous watercolour piece that came out like shit cause I didn't sketch it out properly + I've taken a damn long break so L to me I guess

Anyway they're in limbo together actually and they are in love and gay

one of the things that still annoys me with the dream smp's decline is how they treated the passage of time when there was scheduling issues

because it Didn't have to all be in real time, there were Multiple instances in universe of time passing differently for the characters than it did in real life (fundy was just straight up on a different time scale entirely).

I think Some amount of lampshading worked, but at the point where the timeline was just swiss cheese it baffles me that they wouldn't just. put things on hold and then establish that no time had passed between streams.

it wouldn't have fixed All of the pacing issues, but it would been SOMETHING.

Somewhat relatedly, it Does also frustrate me that the cc's looked at what tommy and wilbur did with limbo and decided to interpret it as a literal timescale to be measured and not that limbo is Unknowable And Disconnected From Reality.

it really took the sails out of the Reviving Ranboo plotline when he's been in there for like a hundred years because the stream a week after he died fell through. it just like, Fundamentally changed how that plotline Could have gone and I have to wonder if we would've ever seen a conclusion to it if that weren't a factor.

Do you think cwilbur started to forget everyone he knew while he was in limbo? Do you think when he got flashes of ghostburs memories he was unable to tell who he saw? Do you think that at some point the only visual image he was able to remember was cold and gray train station? Do you think he didn't recognize ctommy? How painful it would be not to remember what the people that you love look like and how their voices sound. Do you think that he just forgot. He knew that it would happen at some point–it was his eternety, after all– but still wasn't ready for the memories to slowly fade away.

I just realized how strange it is, how when Tommy was revived he had no choice in coming back, it just happened. Everything kind of faded out for him, he was no active participant in his own rebirth, but when wilbur was reborn he had such an active choice in getting on that train and I find it so telling but I don't know what it's telling.

To me, Wilbur is a headstrong person when he's not depressed. He was the leader of l'manburg, he lived his remaining years filled with decisions and choices that really impacted those around him (ie;, his choice of death, his choice to lie to friends, leading pogtopia, his choice to make a country in the first place etc etc. All of these things did affect him, but mainly others) and created a kind of awful non-pressure. It's weird to look back at his life on the dsmp and realize how focal that part of him is to character development of so many people. He makes a choice, others deal with the consequences.

To look at that and realize how perfectly parallel Tommys' storyline in response to it is is another thing entirely. He's equally if not more headstrong than Wilbur, constantly at a push and pull with others. Yet he's the one pulled- for Tommy, others make a decision and he deals with the consequences. It's the perfect backwards mirror to Wilbur.

And it's almost cruel how obvious it is that those are their internal conflicts. Tommy so clearly wants to be in charge of his own life and have his actions impact something for once. Wilbur wants a similar outcome, but in a way where he can almost relinquish control- he wants to be in charge of himself. He also wants others to be in charge of the hard stuff. He was the cause of so much, and now he wants not that, because all the blame always fell on him.

So when they're brought back from limbo it's like the cruelest irony ever, that immediately they're cemented in their same positions. Nothing changed because revival isn't a rebirth or something making you new, it's pulling a tired old person back from the dead and asking them to continue with the same old.

No change happens in limbo, no great revelations. It's meant to keep you stuck in your ways and sad. Wilburs' decision to get back on the train affected someone else, his ghost, his little brother, and he was still responsible and still to blame. Tommy once again had no say in whether he came back or not and was left feeling helpless and as though he couldn't even own his own death.

I also wonder whether their revivals play into the idea that your limbo is what you think you deserve. Does Wilbur think he always has to have a choice, or does he think he's required to take responsibility for everything that happens to him. Does Tommy think he doesnt deserve a choice? Or is he so beaten down that he cannot fathom getting one.

At You Say makes me think, that if ctommy's death in the final by cdream could count as dying like a hero. Like he died trying to keep to people who Say to want to kill everyone on the server from noticing the nuke coming. It's heroic for this characther and his arc. But if that's true then that means the limbo for dying like a hero might be seeing other's pov.

Actually i have a an idea that could be or really cool or really not possible. But what if the limbo for dying like a hero is seeing throught the eyes of the person You less see as one? Like You are forced to see someone You think as the opossite of this concept point of view. Seeing how limbo is like a metaphoric irony of someone's death, then what's more ironic than dying in a heroic way and having to see the throught the person You never Saw as anything close to a hero for eternity?

Now that is interesting... or if "dying the hero" is self defined, then limbo is experiencing the self defined villain or what not. Either way, I gotta love the irony of it. Now if we apply that similar concept to Wilbur blowing up L'manberg aka taking away people's home, then Limbo is him being homeless, waiting at a train station for a train to take him home that never comes reflects a similar irony... hmmm...

Good thoughts I like where you're thinking. Makes me want to see what other characters' povs they'd see. Like hypothetically if Techno died a hero's death, who would he see as the farthest from a hero, Quackity? Who would Tubbo see, Dream or Sam?... fun to think about... :)
