He remembers it in the quiet moments, nowadays. The soft strum of a guitar, the smell of the (frankly disgusting) hotdogs in the gas station, the sound of cars passing by that sound like how the van used to. He misses those days, when things were simpler, better. Before the betrayal, before the war, before it all went to shit.

He remembers it in the dark, when he's alone at night. In the darkness of his bedroom, cramped and confined. He half expects to hear a familiar voice behind him, before a huge blast of heat. But it never comes, and he knows he's just being delusional. Again.

He remembers it when he's waiting for his shift to end. Something about waiting in a place like this makes him remember things he'd rather forget. Explosions, desperate begging, the glint of a sword. Then a customer comes in, and then he's clocking out, and he's alone again.

He remembers it alot, more than he'd care to admit. Sometimes, he wishes he'd done things differently, that he'd do things differently. But he doesn't have the strength to. Not anymore.

He remembers November 16th and all it's tragedy, and just hopes that the others can forgive him.

I think cwilbur remembers the 16th these days blowing cig smoke in customer's faces without reprimand because no one else takes the shift that day, in the Utah gas station and sees a way out down the desert road in a house as he thinks about home. He orders delivery pasta and hesitates leaving Tommy a voice mail. I think he plays the guitar and thinks about how great it feels to be alive. Tommy calls him later anyway, he doesn't answer. Tommy doesn't even bring up the 16th. He goes on a rant about him and tubbos newest argument over what kind of tie goes best for a fancy dinner at a fancy far away restauraunt and he says to himself aloud "fucking prick, just get takeaway" and cries himself to sleep after a scalding shower.

Tubbo being refured to as “a good kid and a better soy” by Wilbur really sums up how he was viewed. He was a child but that was always second to his ability to out himself in harms way.
