Fandom Sucks

Valhallapedia is apparently up for being deleted by Fandom, ruiner of wikis. It was made before that whole site turned to hell and a lot of people put a lot into it. If anyone knows how to copy a wiki and move it to a better platform, please help. Thank you for anything anyone can do.

Here's to starting the day finding a mouse in the bath tub (how dare the back fence neighbors clean their chicken coops), it was returned alive to the wild, and I wondered that if I had brought that kitten home from Target if it would have known what to do.

Having spent many years of my life with cats and terriers we didn't have critters, they had snacks. The last kitten Nelly barely had teeth but thought a grasshopper bigger than her foot had to be destroyed.

If you're in a situation where life is giving you critters and varmints you need a varmint hunting pet. Just let them do what they were bred for. Make sure they have their shots.

Feral cat colonies help keep critters and varmints at bay, trap-neuter-return keeps the colonies healthy.

And all teeny weeny ginger kittens should be nicknamed 'Teaspoon'.

Now for the explosion.

Mkay, my grandsmother lived in Vegas, guess where we got to go on school breaks, when you're dirt poor and underage and told that just going and looking around Circus Circus is a treat you'd better be grateful for...

But we went to that marshmallow factory after it was rebuilt because if you toured it you got a free tiny bag of marshmallows. I can tolerate them but they understand why I don't seek them out.

Anyway, I never realized how close it was to the explosion.

One of the things my adopted driving family and I might do is spend a short time in Vegas getting to experience some of it like normal adults. Being on a budget is totally fine, having only one quarter between yourself and your sibling is for shit.

Lat time I was there I was old enough to be in the casinos but because the Life Ruiner wasn't... ~takes a Repressital~

No wonder it got the marshmallow factory.

If I have energy today I want to get into the fabric and look up some of the calicos for a doll. If not I just remembered I think I still have some more Blythe clothes to sew up in the mean time.

Still in a bit of a motivational slump.

One of the places we're thinking of moving to, sent in applications but they are literally still building it, sits almost on top of the San Andreas fault. But my initial concern was how close it was to the mountains in case of fire.

You live with earthquakes you get used to earthquakes, and being built this century that building should do rather well.

Going to see how close the other one is to a place to get groceries next time we're out there.

so i ended up becoming another mod for ensemblevore on twitter bc a close friend was a mod and i suddenly got worried the wiki ruiners were following us on there bc i saw someone whos kin w tsu/mugi and i dont trust ts/umugi kin due to a lot of bad experiences...n now im salty because i just remembered they ONLY edited kuros shit on the akatsuki page and i actually cried when i found that out bc hes a really big CC and ur prob theo nly one i can vent 2 this about tbh

okay 1. vore……. 2. yea i remember one of the wiki ruiners is tsumugi (i’ve memorized just abt all of them and their close friends due to me being the literal embodiment of the Knife Emoji and i try to avoid Dickwads so i slightly memorized them. i’ve lost some info i mentally catalogued but if you need urls or twitter handles i can try to see if the ones im keeping tabs on are the ones i found out during the Incident (i know the tsumugi’s url vaguely unless they changed it and the other person had their url on their twitter and i’ve kept up w it)) n i remember the tsumugi changed the tsumugi page (and i believe the koga gallery and added an unnecessary page), but i have no knowledge of the kiryu page… as in i wasnt told abt it from mika or haji or saw anyfin on their twitter on that day but if they effed w that page too i’ll ���🔪🔪

note: surprisingly… the tsumugi doesnt interact w the other Known ruiner on tumblr from what i’ve noticed but i forgot abt on twitter…. the ppl i keep tabs on are 1 of the known ruiners and their close friends and i dont keep tabs on the tsumugi (i forgot why i didnt, prob bc i.. havent seen them much on tumblr. they dont use the en/stars tag like the One i see often.. n usually it’s just Ruiner 1′s friends… (i avoid their friends too bc all of them were laughing abt it so i categorize them all as Dicks in my mind.)

The year is nearly over and it's time for my personal game of the year picks again. Finished a record amount of games this year (53, full list of games at the end of the post). COVID-19 pandemic didn't really cause an increase in my gaming, the main contributing factor was Xbox Game Pass for PC which allows me to easily pick up and try out a variety of games. As a "blast from the past" I finally beat a Nintendo 64 game Blast Corps together with husbando, a game I had been stuck in in the 90s. Like usual, I didn't play many games released in the current year so most of my picks are older games. But without further ado, here are the best of the best. 

1st place: Yakuza Kiwami 2 (PC, also available on PS4, Xbox One)

Thrilling and serious crime drama featuring the legendary ex-yakuza Kiryu who finds himself in absurdly hilarious situations at every turn. This is a game you don't want to miss, but playing Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami prior to this is recommended. 

+ Amazing story with various charismatic and memorable characters + Some incredibly funny side quests and entertaining minigames + Gorgeously detailed environments in 4K + Cool soundtrack and superb voice acting + Majima Saga is a nice continuation to events of Yakuza 0 + Well-made PC port with no issues besides occasional amusing ragdolling - Lack of different fighting styles make battles a bit repetitive - No Ansel support

2nd place: Octopath Traveler (Switch, also available on PC)

Classic JRPG of modern times with quality of life improvements and gorgeous presentation. Each characters' stories, the game's engaging turn-based battle system and mechanics kept me glued to the screen for over 125 hours.

+ Fun and rewarding battle system with a good amount of team customization and strategy with subclasses and skills + Beautiful visuals mixing old-school sprite graphics with modern lighting effects + Splendid soundtrack, dual audio option and great Japanese voice acting  + Likeable characters with their own individual stories and engrossing overarching story that lets you find the connections of the characters  + Quality localization with rich language. I learned many new words and H'aanit's old manner of speaking added a new layer of immersion. + Nice quality of life features like fast travel and seemingly unlimited inventory space - Random encounters (they didn't actually bother me much in this game as the battle system was engaging) - Sudden crazy difficulty spike when encountering the real final boss

3rd place: Portal 2 (PC, also available on PS3, Xbox 360)

Immersive sci-fi first-person puzzle game with fascinating game mechanics and tons of great humor. Portal 2 lives up to the universal praise it has gotten.

+ Interesting premise and great writing + Well designed physics-based puzzles + Difficulty is just right, not too hard and not too easy + Super good voice acting and soundtrack that fits the environments spot on + Great humor right from the starting tutorial + The first-person camera immersed me into the game - Some issues like autosaving at unfortunate moments

Honorable mention: Xenoblade Chronicles X (Wii U)

Sci-fi action JRPG with a surprising twist in its story and a peculiar setting where the player isn't really the protagonist. Battle system is fun and rewarding once you get a hang of it.

+ Impressive world that made me go "woah!" and "ooohh!" + Cool sci-fi story + Great use of Wii U GamePad + Skells (flying mech suits) make traversing the vast world pleasant + Online multiplayer is still active - Tedious fetch quests (wiki/guide recommended) - Soundtrack isn't consistently good

Honorable mention: Ruiner (PS4 & Switch, also available on PC, Xbox One)

I'm in love with this game. I've played it on 4 platforms already and I'm waiting for my Switch physical copy. Ruiner was in my top 3 games last year so I'll just give it a honorable mention now.

+ Amazing world-building and atmosphere + Great soundtrack + Fast-paced action gameplay that stays fun even after multiple playthroughs - Some glitches in PS4 version, Switch version aiming doesn't feel as accurate as on other platforms

Honorable mention: Death Coming (PC, also available on PS4, Switch, mobile)

Kind of like a point and click isometric Hitman game. Humorous game where you need to figure out how to reap as many souls as possible, causing fatal accidents with the environments.

+ Fun assassination gameplay with well-designed, wildly imaginative levels + Charming graphics and presentation + Hilarious ways to kill targets - More levels would have been welcome

Okay one more I really loved what The Watermelon Woman had to say about the power of getting to know the history of your contemporaries, your people, and where that stands as part of a journey of gratitude and empowerment, and that it's not gonna be the same for everyone but that's not necessarily wrong either. Overall I really liked it, it felt very genuine, honest, open. I was wrong about the ending based off the wiki summary. It gave me a feeling of hope and groundedness in times of turmoil and uncertainty.

Ok forreal that's the last. But I'm really looking forward to getting into more films and literature where being part of the lgbtq+ umbrella takes center stage. There's a lot, of course, but I haven't tucked into it too much cus I found the stuff on sites like Netflix is. Like. So much of it is so sad and heavy that by the time I find something that sounds like I might be able to have fun with it I'm already exhausted.

I know that's kinda rich coming from me, popper of bubbles and ruiner of jokes, but that's the difference between getting your own self out there and taking someone else's self into you for a while.

Like I'm already too full, man, I'll just watch The Losers instead for the 50th time. Need some empty calories sometimes.

And that's not at all to say the watermelon woman was empty calories cus it wasn't in the least, just that it was a really good, steadying, hopeful romp and I'd like to enjoy more movies like that.

Bond Possibilities

Since I have nothing better to do, after touching on Bio-energy in two previous posts(here & here), I wanted to do something fun with the concept of tamers.

Since it’s possible for just about anyone with bio-energy to be a tamer, I wanted to make a list for those I rp closely with on the possibilities their characters have for forming bonds with monsters. There are terms to it, such as needing to have some sort of shared characteristic between the human & the animal, & since I do LOVE monster hunter, & I think I know my friends characters well enough to match them with ideal animals.

I’ll be leaving wiki links to the monsters I list if you guys wish to look more into them. And of course, at any given time, you welcome to rp your characters meeting their ‘pets’ & having that bond form. Just let me know if you at all want to know more.

Notes: As gods & godly beings, Atom & each of his incarnates do not have bio-energy, so they do not have the ability to form bonds with normal animals. Kirin are not normal animals, who appear to host magical powers, thus, they are the only exception to this rule. Kirin could technically be an extension to Atom himself, which allow it to host it’s sky calling thunder & it’s blink-&-miss-it speed.

Notes: Oni, being an experimented human like Violet, it’s likely his bio-energy had been tempered with(though clearly no where near Violet’s level), intentionally or not. As such, he’s able to form bonds more easily with Apex Predators, & has the possibility of form a bond with a particular type of Elder Dragon. Diablos, Brachydios, & Tigrex are Apex Predators, who are both well known for holding grudges, & find their strength is running over their enemies with their large bodies. Nergigante is an Elder Dragon, known for taking down & eating other elder dragons as it’s diet. Nergigante is one of Violent Violet’s bond potentials, so he would share this pet with her, to form a bond with it’s subspecies, Ruiner Nergigante, would require sharing it with Violet to keep it tame.

Notes: Just like Violet, in his bloodsoaked verse, Lucius would of had his bio-energy tampered with by the Great One’s Church’s experiments on him(though again, not near Violet’s level). However, like with Oni, Ruiner Nergigante & Alatreon would require sharing the monster’s bond with Violet in order to properly tame it.

Notes: Tenma’s bio-energy levels would be rather low, due to his time during his ‘possession’. Meaning he would only be able to form bonds with animals on the lowest scales of the food chain; such as Tzitzi-Ya-Ku & Kulu-Ya-Ku. Both of which are bird wyverns who tend to shy away from fighting. By spending time with Hope, his bio-energy levels can slowly restore itself, & earn him a partial bond with Hope’s pet, Vaal Hazak, as well as it’s subspecies, Blackveil Vaal Hazak. Though it would not be even remotely close to Hope’s bond with the creature, so he would not gain any sort of illness immunity, or be immune to Vaal’s life-sapping miasma.

Notes: Touma is likely the one pure human who would be unable to form any bond with any animal, even normal house pets, due to his extremely low bio-energy levels; as a result of his right hand being the Imagine Breaker.

Notes: A small girl, with a stomach triple her size, Index would most naturally form bonds with animals with the biggest stomachs. At her normal bio-energy levels, she most likely to form a bond with Great Jagras, or Kulu-Ya-Ku, being creatures at the bottom of the food chain. Deviljho, however, while possible, would require someone to share the bond with to properly tame the creature. Being as, Deviljho are extremely violent animals, who allows it’s hunger to rule it so much, that it actually destroys food chains & ecosystems, from how much it eats & will break it’s bond with it’s tamer if it is not fed often enough to it’s satisfactory.

Notes: The one thing Mikoto would properly shares in common with the two animals above, is the thunder element. Her bio-energy levels are not high enough to make a bond with electric Elder Dragons, like Kirin or Namielle, however, if she were to gain a large amount, it could be possible for her. Zinogre is likely the better match, when even compared to Elder Dragons, for Zinogres are typically prideful & headstrong creatures, much like how Mikoto can be. These animals would also be able to pair with the Misaka clones, & Last Order.

Notes: Individually, each of these monsters share some traits in common with Accelerator. Glavenus is known for attempting to scare foes away by lighting it’s tail up with fire, & sharpening it between it teeth, just as Accel attempts to scare people out of fighting him, through intimidation. Raging Brachydios & Bazelgeuse are known to terrify other animals when they are seen, in the same way Accel terrifies people when they see him. And Yian Garuga is known for being just straight up insane due to it’s mixed DNA, so much so to the point where even hunters don’t want to mess around with it because of the crazy shit it pulls, like how Accel makes himself look as insane as possible when engaging with others in battle.

Notes: Normally, Accelerator has normal bio-energy levels like any other human, however, if he learns to wield bio-energy, he could boost his own natural bio-energy levels greatly, which opens him up to having far more, & far powerful-er animals to bond with. All of the creatures above are Elder Dragons, of which, he would require no one to share the bond with, expect for Alatreon, due to the black dragon’s unstable bio-energy. Specifically for Alatreon, he would require another person with very high bio-energy levels to share the bond with, in order to contain it’s unstable elemental energy, such as Violent Violet. Assuming she works exactly the same as her male counterpart, all of the before mention animals would be available for Suzushina Yuriko to bond with as well.

Notes: Though, we don’t rp, I do pay close attention to Pari’s characteristics. A woman with a love for felines, who takes down the folks who target other people, would naturally bond with the panther-isk animal, known for taking down hunters. Nargacugas are careful & cautious creatures, who are typically hostile to other creatures, much as Pari herself, is careful & cautious & often somewhat hostile to strangers.

Notes: Technically, all of the above creatures are all the same animal, but at varies states of it’s growth, all of which have to capability to inflect others with the FRENZY VIRUS; which gives humans boosts in power, while causing animals to go insane. Gore Magala(the base form & juvenile version of Shagaru Magala) would bond best with sane!Hermes, while Chaotic Gore Magala(what happens when a Gore Magala fails to mold into Shagaru Magala & resulting-ly goes mad) would bond best with insane!Hermes, & Shagaru Magala(the final Magala form & as such, the strongest of them) being when both sane & insane Hermes are able to cooperate together as a single being. Hermes is also likely to have high bio-energy, as the results of his own experimentation events, just like Violet, & all other human experiment characters mentioned in this post, which is why he is able to form a bond with an Elder Dragon.

 OK i ended up looking up for the “official french translations” of Dragon Age stuff because, well, can’t be that bad right, French cannot be THAT BAD right?

So this is supposed to be “Grey Warden” which is now translated Guardian of the Shadows. Kay I can. Accept it.

Harrowing = Confrontation, I guess I see the idea. And Fade is apparently Immatériel (litteraly immaterial), I would never have translated it like that on my own but I guess, I don’t know how to translate “Fade” at this point anyway.

.... Is ‘Engeance’ the Blight??  Or well, the Taint since apparently the Blight itself is called “Enclin”?? 

I mean like, I don’t know how once could translate Blight but Google Translation gives more “ruiner” (to ruin) “brûlure” (a burn) or “corruption” (n/a) - I think if it was up to me i would have gone with Corruption even though this word itself is used in game but.

Every definition i know of “Enclin” makes me puzzled and I had to look up what ‘Engeance’ meant in french and it can be both “Children/Legacy/Group of People” and “A group of meprisable and hateable people/things” (which imo is just a question of tone since the exemple the wiki gives me are of theater, like when you turn something into an irony) and i. 

I shouldn’t judge because translation is hard and they tried their best but oh dear it does make me happy to just be able to play it in English and not bother with learning the french words

Reisen går til Guatemala

Om noen få dager reiser jeg til Guatemala, og der blir jeg i to måneder. Først går turen innom Cuba for en liten ferie. Deretter skal jeg til Antigua i Guatemala og ha praksis ved Casa Jackson Hospital for Malnourished Children, som en del av utdannelsen min innen samfunnsernæring. Jeg reiser med organisasjonen Atlantis utveksling, og mine to medstudenter Helle og Marlene skal ha praksis på samme sted. Vi skal også ta spanskkurs. I dette innlegget vil jeg fortelle litt mer om Guatemala og praksisstedet mitt!

Casa Jackson er et ernæringssenter som tar vare på feil- og underernærte barn som trenger akutt hjelp. Det er en del av et større helse- og utdanningssenter. Senteret jobber også med forebygging og identifisering av årsaker til feilernæring. Barna som oppholder seg på klinikken lider av alvorlig feil- og underernæring, og kan ha svært redusert helse med kritisk behov for behandling. De har blitt henvist av myndighetene, og har i mange tilfeller blitt tatt i fra familien sin som ikke har hatt ressurser til å ivareta barnas behov. (Dette er basert på info fra Atlantis)

Det anslås at rundt 50% av barn i Guatemala er feil- eller underernært, med stunting som en stor ufordring. Stunting vil si at vekst og utvikling hemmes som følge av feilernæring. Det kan gi livsvarige konsekvenser for helsen. Guatemalas historie er preget av konflikter og borgerkrig, men de siste årene har det vært relativt stabilt. Befolkningen har blitt utsatt for brudd på menneskerettighetene, og særlig urbefolkningen har hatt det tøft. Guatemala har 22 urfolksgrupper og flertallet av befolkningen tilhører mayakulturen.

Området har vært bosatt siden 12 000 fvt, og det finnes imponerende ruiner fra mayaenes storhetstid som El Mirador og Tikal. På 1500-tallet og frem til 1821 var landet en spansk koloni. De siste 200 årene har som nevnt vært preget av politisk ustabilitet, og borgerkrig fra 1961. Over 200 000 mennesker ble drept, og krigen gikk hardt utover urbefolkningen. I 1996 ble det signert en fredsavtale i regi av FN. Guatemalske Rigoberta Menchú har kjempet for urfolks rettigheter, og ble tildelt Nobels Fredspris i 1992.

Landet regnes som et av de 25 landene i verden med høyest biologisk mangfold, og jeg gleder meg til å oppleve naturen der. Det dyrkes blant annet kakao, kaffe og avokado. Ellers er naturen preget av høye fjell og vulkaner (!). Byen jeg skal bo i ligger ved foten av en aktiv vulkan, Volcán de Fuego. Landet grenser til Mexico, Belize, Honudras og El Salvador og har kyst mot Det Karbiske hav på én side og Stillehavet på den andre siden.

Jeg ser frem til å få testet ut ernæringsarbeid i praksis og oppleve en helt annen hverdag. Det blir garantert både givende, lærerikt og veldig utfordrende. Gruer meg selvfølgelig til å være borte fra samboer og katter i 8-9 uker. Allikevel er dette noe jeg har hatt lyst til å gjøre lenge, og om jeg ikke hadde reist ville jeg nok grublet mye på “hva hvis…?”. Heldigvis får jeg en uke på Cuba med kjæresten først, og de to pelsdottene har verdens beste kattevakt. Og heldigvis finnes det internett og telefoner!
