Now that the starters for Pokémon zaza are revealed, I tried making a Kalosian form for Meganium, similiar to the hisuian forms for PLA!

Don’t know if I like it ;-; I'm not sure it even looks like meganium tbh, I don’t have much experience making fakemon… oh well, it looks cute and this was fun to make and that’s what matters

Can I just say I LOVE the wild Pokémon areas in Lumiose city shown in the trailer? The futuristic city in combination with the parks is giving me solarpunk vibes!! My Meganium design is based on solar panels, and if I ever design the other starters, I would make them all based on renewable energy! I KNEW ZA would have a futuristic concept even before the trailer released because of Legends Arceus being in the past and then SV releasing.

I thought it would be neat if the Pokémon living in Lumiose city started adapting to their new environment my mimicking the technology around them, which I also used as an opportunity to bridge the gap to future paradox pokemon!! The solar panels are referenced from the glowing panels seen in the paradox mons, though unlike those, they are still organic matter. I know canonically the future paradox mons are likely man made but….. let me have my fun here lol

Hey guys, I have my starter trio's secondary typings locked in, so here's Kalosian Feraligatr! My inspiration for the trio is fairytale creatures, to better suit the fact that Kalos was the first region to host fairy types. And since Meganium is Grass/Fairy, Feraligatr needs to be Water/Dragon to contrast.

This Pokemon feeds on wandering Clauncher, the colour of its pattern is determined by the colour of the Clauncher it eats. Red patterns are rarer and highly sought after by Pokemon collectors and Dragon tamers.

Gyarados is this Pokemon's natural enemy, if they cross paths, a heavy storm is sure to follow. Barricade your doors if you wish to see the next sunrise.

So yeah, there wasn't any lore reason for it to be dragon type, other than perhaps allowing it to overpower the Gyarados it frequently fights, but I thought Feraligatr would make an awesome dragon Pokemon, and this was the result! I was inspired mainly by Haku from Spirited Away, and other mythological dragons that can fly without wings.

Hopefully you guys like this as much as I do!
