But yeah :)c Fiyero has some complicated feelings about how Dorothy left Shiz - aka he hates that he wasn't able to protect her like he promised, and shortly after all of that, Elphaba was labeled as public enemy number one after the two of them had a rather nasty confrontation.

Yeah Act 2 in this AU gets very chaotic. Very fast :> Hopefully the "brainless" man can keep up

In honor of our very first sneak peek of the movie Wicked, my nostalgia kicked into high gear and I'm honoring one of my earliest fandom crazes with a silly little comic I'm calling "Fiyero Doesn't Get Enough Recognition For All The Shit He's Been Through."

Probably the thing I'm looking forward to the most in For Good is the expansion of Dorothy's plotline. Not just because of how it'll help flesh out the story, but also because the musical!Wicked version of the gang is objectively the funniest version in any piece of Oz media ever.

We've got:

Scarecrow - The Wicked Witch of the West's boyfriend who she accidentally zapped into straw while trying to save him from getting executed for treason. Also he's a literal prince, Glinda's ex-fiancee, and the only person here who has anything close to the full story of what's going on.

Tin Man - Elphie's old friend from college who's spent the past few years enslaved to her sister (his ex) and who now hates her because he thinks that she turned him into a human soup can just to be an asshole rather than to save his life. Probably fighting off the beginnings of an existential crisis.

Cowardly Lion - Elphaba saved him from a life of non-sapiency when he was a cub, which he blames for his cowardice. Considering how he was a small child that got abandoned in the wilderness, he kinda has a point.

Dorothy - Literally only here because her house was used as a murder weapon. She just wants to go home, but all of the adults around her keep dragging her into their bullshit. Also, she has a pet dog - a completely foreign concept in Oz that everyone except the Wizard and Morrible most likely finds disturbing as hell.

What do you mean he said she didn't need to be galindified???

What do you mean he saw life as pointless until Elphaba comes into his???

What do you mean he was always rebellious but never in a really meaningful way until Elphaba gives him courage????

What do you mean he cared about the animals because she cared and jump into action the moment he had an opportunity???

What do you mean he stayed loyal to his girlfriend at the time but also make sure to demonstrate how much he appreciates Elphie and was proud of her going to make her dream come true?

What do you mean he heard Madam Morrible speech and didn't believe a single word despite not even had been there to really know?????

What do you mean he immediately jumps on his horse and ride from Shiz to Emerald City IN A HEARTBEAT??? Just to find her!!!

And when he learns she ran away, he stayed and play pretend for FIVE YEARS just to have a single chance to reach her????

Just to run away WITH her????

And then give himself up to the government he betrayed just to save her once again????

And she was the person who made him remember who he was after the scarecrow transformation????

And he still loves her and didn't judge her for the way she tried to save his life???

Not ONCE did he thought she was wicked??????

the hc of elphaba not recognizing scarecrow fiyero their first few interactions is so funny because its just like:

Elphaba: You. (angrily)

Scarecrow Fiyero: You! (happily)

Haven’t seen the new Wicked movie yet, but I am forever impressed by the fact that someone saw the “Wizard of Oz” and was like:

“Hm. Yes. I see. Okay. The wicked witch and that scarecrow? They’re in love for sure.”

“The witch who sets him on fire?”

“It’s a complicated situation.”

I love the fact that The Wizard of Oz is literally Fiyero having to take care of a 12 year old girl who just wants to go home, her dog, his former college classmate, and a lion he once saved as a cub and now claims that made him a coward. Ah, all while looking for a way to keep the woman he loves safe and sound.

This is probably my favourite part of wicked after everything Elphaba and Fiyero have been through they finally are free and can be together. After years of being separated they just hold each other close and our ready to face their destiny together.💚🧡

with the additional context of wicked, you know that fiyero’s scarecrow ass had to be sweating the entire time that the wizard of oz plot is happening. like… literally every major character that Dorothy comes across has crossed paths with him before, and they could all potentially expose him as one of elphaba’s associates and as an animal rights sympathizer. like… you mean to tell me he and boq (the tin man) don’t recognize each other from school??? that boq hadn’t heard that fiyero was engaged to glinda before he publicly left her and ran after elphaba??? like sure, the man’s a scarecrow now, but his voice doesn’t change. and fiyero was with elphaba when she freed the lion cub. the lion would’ve likely heard his voice then. he’s literally Glinda’s ex, and you mean to tell me that she wouldn’t recognize him??? that the Wizard (a known associate of Glinda’s) wouldn’t have met that man and known what he sounded like?

honestly props to fiyero for not losing his nonexistent mind keeping his identity secret from everyone around him and successfully getting himself and elphaba the hell out of oz with no one suspecting a thing in the end, because my god that entire situation must’ve been so stressful

Sidenote: My headcanon is that Lion has no idea who "Fiyero" is but he couldn't resist jumping in when he saw Tin Man antagonizing Scarecrow.
