EPISODE 7 I- no comments every time i rewatch genuinely i thought that she was just about to kiss him just so he can shut up about he's nonsense and stupid jokes, like freaking straight up she was having a break down while he was just smiling like a gremlin and not listening to whole context other then just what he hears which i can already imagine this is what he heard in he's mind "Yeah i'm having a break down right now bla, bla, bla... my girlfriend just keep the biggest secret since we bla, bla, bla and now heaven is bla, bla... I think this is you're perfect opportunity to make a deal with you and repay you later with something special"  And then their the half of the episode where basically everything should explain for itself like come on even freaking Rosie calls him out on that and HE EVEN GIVES HER THE FREAKING MIC something that is part of him like DUDE.

Oh dear episode 8 finale was honestly for me the cherry on the top, seeing Charlie soo happy that Alastor was alive and the fact she didn't even haste to hug him just made my heart melt l like soo much freaking joy from her. Also my brother was starting having a freaking breakdown saying that "Oh am gonna be the one who's pulling on the strings" yeah honey no, hate to break to you but she is fixing you! don't you dare come up with random poor excuses for getting feelings for her.

Seriously am speechless soo many scenes that just no comments.

I NEED season 2, praying on knees we are getting more of them hopefully, like genuinely if she the one who fixes he's scar and the have a moment alone I- or a small kiss on the cheek or Charlie keeps on fixing him and Al opening up about he's life, swear soo many opinions. Not meantion a while ago Amir Talai during a interview he was asked a question during the topic about the possibility of Alastor getting redeem and that question was this "Of all of the characters in the show, who do you think he cares about the most like who will he go above and beyond for versus any anyone else" and freaking smile like a god damm gremlin saying he won't answer that fully knowing something is happening and am like BRUH YOU- come on all the hints are on the table at this point like their just keep teasing us with it.

Oh my god yes, I feel you first I saw the ship in the pilot and was instantly hooked on it but then I saw episode 7 with the scenes in Charlie's bedroom and was just like 👀👀👀. The chemistry between them was so strong that it could have been used for a Chemistry Lesson

In episode 1 where the Commercial was shown and Alastor said later that his face is made for radio only, I just thought "OK My face was made for radio then why did you film it" or when Charlie was shown, I heard people theorizing that he got extra close to Charlie to film her because he doesn't really know how to use a video recorder and I love it. Of course he has many photos of her, he is obsessed with Charlie

Episode 5 and Hell's greatest dad, despite people using it to hate on Charlastor, honestly was a win for the ship too. Like Anon said, Alastor practically using the "Your daughter calls me daddy (and I call her mommy) card and Charlie defending him against Lucifer was just great" he is doing it for me! "or don't forget Lucifer thinking that Alastor is her boyfriend. Mimzy calling Charlie Alastor's princess, Like why do so many think they are dating

Episode 7 was just Chefs kiss, like I already said the bedroom scene with them was just how the hell am I supposed to not ship them?! Charlie and him walking arm in arm to the cannibal colony and Rosie teasing Alastor that she is too young for him. Or the fact that Alastor gave his cane to Charlie while ready for this. People can tell me what they want but Alastor adores her despite him wanting to manipulate her

Alastor opening up even a bit to Charlie in season 2 would be great, like it makes sense that she is and not someone else. Both of them are the leads and as that their relationship hopefully develops in the show, let's just hope Charlie gets attention from the show. I hope the trend about people thinking they are together continues, image Alastor's mother thinking that Charlie is his girlfriend

And as I saw the interview from Alastor's VA my first thought was that he is talking about Charlie like it makes just sense that she will become a very important person for Alastor, whatever platonic or romantically, but I am not trying to get my hopes up as the show and fandom seems to dislike Charlastor (despite it being one of the most interesting ships)

Don't worry about rumbling too much about them, there isn't too much about them, I could talk hours about the ship! Like they are too cute and interesting. We have a saying in my home country "Zwei idioten, ein Gedanke" which translate to Two idiots, one thought and I think that describes Charlastor very well

10. "Funny looking fellow"

We start with a simple one. This isn't even an insult, it's just a fact. He is, indeed, a funny looking fellow. I'm pretty sure they say it more than once too.

9. "The Dapper Gangland Kingpin"

(season two)

This one it's just silly, especially since it was written on a newspaper. Just... that's weird ? Idk it's silly it makes me chuckle

8. "Yellow rat snitch"

(season one)

We start getting a little weirder. Why a rat? And, more importantly, why yellow???

7. "Stupid lame birdbrain"

(season four)

Just so mean. Especially since this scene it's his dumb husband making a room full of people chant it

Right back to season one and it's incredible dialogue. This one is particularly amazing thanks to Oswald's reply to it, which was, of course: "Honk honk". I can't even start to describe that scene. It's a classic.

Definitely the best nickname the last season had to offer. Like, you know that moment when a guy kills your bestfriend/girlfriend and you call him the silliest name you can think of? This is one of those times.

4. "Scaley faced bitch"

This is the first one in the show, directly from the first episode. I am a firm supporter of calling men bitches when they deserve it, and he did, so I wholeheartedly approve this message. Adding the scaley face part just makes it more poetic.

3. "Sad little breadhead"

This one from never fails. Imagine it delivered with the most condicending tone in the world. Just amazing. Makes me laugh every time.

2. "Fruitcake leprechaun"

(season two)

This. This is the one that started it all. It was thinking about this one that I decided that this rewatch I was gonna write down all the nicknames. I dont know if it has something to do with english not being my first language, so I don't have the background of the word "fruitcake" used as an homophobic remark, but this name is one of the funniest things I have ever heard in my life.

1. "Limping little chickenbutt second banana"

This couldn't not be on the first place. I am obsessed with the writers of this show, i want to get inside their brains. Because like what does it mean? How did they come up with this? I need to know every thought that crossed their mind for them to write this. This is art. This is poetry. Incredible. Amazing. Absolutely insane. Kudos to the actor who played Maroni because if they gave me that line I wouldn't be able to say it with a straight face.

More Transformers One Novelization tidbits!

For some reason my last post about the Transformers One novel blew up? Anyways, as I was going through the book again to copy the text, I’ve noticed new parts that diverge from the movie (warning: it’s a looooooooong post)

1. Orion was always aware of the Energon shortage in Iacon.

This seems inconsequential, but it explains a lot about Orion and why he’s always getting into so much trouble! People don’t tend to notice it, but Orion is a real radical figure in TFOne. He constantly breaks the rules and is the only one challenging the status quo in the movie. Furthermore, the cut scenes where Orion argues for a fair trial against Sentinel instead of immediately executing him really shows what kind of character he was intended to be: Orion is politically aware. He knows that miners will become irrelevant when Energon runs out, so to ensure his peer’s survival, he’s desperate to find the Matrix. Orion’s recklessness isn’t only because he’s immature, it’s also because he’s DESPERATELY fighting against the system that will inevitably collapse.

Orion/Optimus as an MLK type figure (and not the whitewashed one)? Yes please!

2. Orion is REALLY passionate about Cybertronian history

I mentioned this in my last post, it’s genuinely adorable how much of a nerd he is lol. Like, wdym people don’t have the same hyperfixation as me?? 😭 They gotta be faking it. That’s so autistic of Orion lol

But also, this also further feeds into the type of character Orion is! He is a history nerd! He is politically aware! He is knowledgeable about political systems and knows that violence is necessary but must be used carefully! (If anyone is interested, please read Frantz Fanon’s Wretched of the Earth, but read Jean-Paul Sartre’s preface last.)

3. Orion is a nerd

I’m being redundant, but please please please look at how much a nerd this boy is 😭 He’s so curious and hungry for knowledge, it’s the cutest thing. (If you have access to the movie, I suggest you go rewatch the scene where they first notice grass. In the shot before that, you can see Orion’s tiny silhouette happily swinging his arms and looking every direction like a child on a field trip because he’s so happy to be on the surface)

4. Orion is surprisingly respectful to his superiors in the book

Orion bows to Alpha Trion and the High Guard when he first meets them. I dunno why, but I really find this cute compared to how rude he is towards Darkwing and other authority figures lol. I suppose the difference here is that Orion actually respects Alpha Trion and the High Guard as important historical figures

5. Orion thinks of D first for help

This is genuinely adorable 😭 In the scene where everyone is figuring out their transformation, Orion yells for D to help him when he disappears his head. My guy, how is he gonna help you lmao (I guess like the time Orion tried to transform without a cog?)

6. Orion does try to talk to D about his feelings in the book, but D rejects the offer

I keep seeing people say that Orion should’ve sat down with D-16 to have a heart-to-heart, but the book version of the story shows that D was already too high off his newly acquired powers to realize his degrading mental state. Even in the movie, D is too clouded by his anger when Orion asks him if he’s okay

7. D-16 was ready to destroy the data chip Alpha Trion gave them to have his way

D is convinced that killing Sentinel will solve their problems, whereas Orion believes showing everyone the truth first is the way.

D is so angered by the fact that Orion is not supporting his choice he taunts Orion into taking the data chip back by force.

I kinda understand the choice of not having this scene in the movie (reminder that movie novelizations are based off a draft movie script, not the final version). It makes D look too mean a bit too early and less redeemable. D needs to feel redeemable until the point he drops Orion down the Well of Allsparks.

8. D being dragged into violent extremism is the core theme of his arc

It’s been mentioned many times by others, but D’s arc here really touches upon points of young men lost and jaded within a failing society and going down the alt-right pipeline.

On the point of violence, I wanna reiterate that violence during revolutions is not a bad thing. Hell, even Orion kills Trackers without hesitating. However, Orion kills because it’s necessary and as a form of self-defence. He’s clearly uncomfortable when Bee is gleeful about killing, and that why he doesn’t want D to kill Sentinel: you shouldn’t be killing people because it’ll make you feel good not for self-serving purposes.

Again, if D-16 had his way and Orion stayed dead, what would happen? People who think TFOne Megatron would be a good and fair leader need to rewatch the end of the movie lol. (Please read Frantz Fanon The Wretched of the Earth, it’s a great book.)

detailed timestamp notes below the cut but my overall summary thoughts are

you could tell phil was still getting into the groove of liveshows so it's a little awkward and slow going in the first 15 minutes are so with lots of shoutouts and showing the camera random things. liveshows got sooo much better after just a year or so it's fascinating to watch them getting comfortable

mind boggling to think back to a time they were willing to show up to fan meetups and then made a point to state publicly why they weren't there AND share their location so openly constantly (obviously they were about to move but STILL they showed the outside of their flat So Much back then)

the juxtaposition of how naturally comfortable they were with each other (stealing hats, sharing food, having their little jokes and songs) vs. them remembering the chat and having to recalibrate (i don't want to procreate with you)

i'm gonna be sooooo real i still spent the entire hour kicking my legs and twirling my hair and having to pause to compose myself because that's my phil like that was my guy and it brought back all those giddy feelings :3

8. if you had to write a sequel to a fic, you’d write one for…

if i *had* to...hmm. well, i have thought about doing a sequel to "Keeping Score", where instead the reader is making Loki count how many orgasms he's had...but so far i've written 0 words for it.

on the other hand, i do already have a whole ass sequel for TLTGYA planned out. which is honestly so insane of me, considering ive only posted 7 chapters of that fic over the course of the last year lmao

so me being forced to write a sequel for TLTGYA might be the only way i get the main fic finished

(i havent abandoned it i swtg im trying to finish ch 8 but it's taking forever because i have a terminal case of "cant shut the fuck up" disease)

19. the most interesting topic you’ve researched for a fic

so i wouldn't say this was interesting - but i once fell down a weeklong rabbit hole of men's fashion trends from the 1970s. specifically regarding the suits that were worn in London at that time.

and it was all because of this guy, basically :

you see that piece of cloth dangling from his pocket? well i nearly went insane trying to figure out what that was. like - INSANE. i couldn't tell what it was...is it a suspender?! is it a built-in belt that's sewn into his pants that he just hasn't fastened properly?! WHAT THE HELL IS IT?!

i was looking at gifs, i was rewatching the scene of the movie, i was looking at screen grabs, i was EDITING screen grabs to adjust the lighting to see his clothes better, I WAS LOOKING UP ARTICLES ABOUT THE COSTUME DESIGNS FOR THIS MOVIE. I GOT THE FUCKING ORIGINAL NOVEL TO SEE IF J.G. BALLARD EVER DESCRIBED THIS PARTICULAR OUTFIT.

I WAS LOSING MY GODDAMN MIND. I COULDNT FIGURE IT OUT, CLEO.

and the whole purpose of this? i wanted to know because i was modeling Loki's look in Ch. 5/6 of AAO off of this outfit worn by dr. robert laing in high-rise. and i wanted to describe the above outfit in detail because like - it's so sexy.

why is it so sexy? doesn't matter. i wanted Loki to have a thing dangling out of his pocket because it's HOT and i dont even care WHY.

anyway, one morning i was just staring at those gifs, lamenting over my inability to figure out what a single piece of cloth shown in a 35 second scene was - you know, like a normal person. and i realized he didn't have his tie around his neck.

i thought that was interesting, so i started looking at other gifs to look at his tie. and i noticed that when the tie was around his neck, there was nothing dangling from his pockets. but when there's something dangling from his pockets, there was no tie around his neck.

and then it finally hit me, like a fucking freight train full of flared bell bottoms and fringe vests and 79 cent gasoline - he fucking shoved the tie into his pocket.

that's it, that's all that was. it wasn't apart of his pants, it wasn't a common fashion trend for London in the 1970s, it wasn't something the costume department invented - he just shoved the middle part of his tie into his pocket, and those are the ends of the tie dangling down his thigh. so. yeah.

idk why it took me so long to put that together, or why i got so hyperfixated on it. but alllllllllllllll of that insanity had to occur just so i could justify having this single line in the fic:

He tucked the dress shirt into his trousers and he retrieved his tie from the floor, slipping its middle into his pocket and leaving the ends to dangle down the length of his thigh. 

now. was all of that worth it? idk, you tell me 🤣

i mean, obviously TLTGYA and AAO are my longfics, and i love them dearly, and someday i WILL finish them - if i can ever figure out how to a) shut the fuck up, and b) not focus on absolutely the wrong details when im writing.

i want to talk about sam butler and nobody can stop me

(lengthy rambling below the cut)

looking back on misfits and magic, it genuinely astounds me the leaps and bounds that sam has experienced as a character. i can't speak for anyone else, but for me, i had the least connection to sam in mismag 1 and the special– i think it was a combination of it being danielle's first appearance on d20 and my unfamiliarity with her, the narrative spending a relatively large amount of time on evan and his demons compared to everyone else, and the fact that sam started as a trope-y character who didn't have the chance to grow beyond that in the limited amount of time they had to begin with– like i definitely enjoyed her but i didn't really love her, yknow?

(sidenote: after episode 6 or 7 i went back and rewatched mismag 1 and the special and i adored sam the entire time, so i think it was mostly just a "right place wrong time" thing.. or "right character wrong time" i suppose? i'm just pissed i didn't give her the adoration she deserved then tbh)

which is why i was BEYOND surprised that as episodes of mismag 2 dropped, i found myself being increasingly pulled into sam's orbit. episode 1 and episode 2 were so refreshing, seeing how these characters had changed over time and watching them interact with each other again, and it really felt like sam had grown into herself; at this point i was confident that i was going to enjoy her more, i just didn't know how much lmao

and then. episode 3 dropped.

danielle's performance in that episode fucking destroyed me. lou and erika were acting their asses off and i STILL found myself wishing there would be more cutaways to sam so i could see danielle living her character. now that i mention it, i think that was what i was missing from season 1 and the special, a moment where things went from bad to worse and sam truly struggled. that's not to say she didn't struggle before, just that there was a depth to her grief in episode three that hadn't been present in past seasons and it really took me aback (in a positive way). not to mention sam's interactions with the qohlye, which set up the final act of the season!

EVERY episode after episode 3 was another heavy hitter. episode 4 and learning about sam's childhood (buttery smooth tights dni), not to mention the comedic juggernaut that was coked-out sam butler !! episode 5 and her infamous sofa conversation with evan, which i took the time to transcribe because thinking about it made me insane (just as a personal note, i think episode 3 was when the possibility of evsam struck me, and episode 5 was what really cemented how much i wanted it to happen). episode 6 and her interactions with jammer and k, the endive salad with way too much parmesan (which is incredibly funny given that she's lactose intolerant) and her realization about sweeps week and celebrity cameos, code pink ??? oh my god it makes me nauseous i love the pink pals so much..

obviously episode 7 was HUGE for sam; charming weugan was an incredible moment for her as a wizard, but it also teed up her breakdown in the finale. her charm spell also gave us the absolute masterpiece that was the jammer+evan puppy playtime hour, which i personally haven't stopped thinking about since it happened! did that awaken something in me? who can say.

episode 8 had her interactions with tadershacourt which i found hilarious, and her sleeping on the air mattress with evan was HUGE for me, but really the moment that got me was when she chose to snap her wand to see the connections between the pilot program and the new magic infusing k and evan. this moment solidified my adoration for sam butler, because who else would destroy a prized magical artifact from their past just to know a little bit more about their friends? not to mention this scene really laid the groundwork for her magical connection to the qohlye in my eyes

and of course, episode 9 was where we actually got that connection! it strikes me looking back that i never doubted that sam would turn down the qohlye's boon. so much of her narrative and so many of her choices up until this point had been her choosing to sacrifice power to support her community– using her question to the qohlye to save evan, her distaste for the magic of seegenpelater, the straight up disgust she felt at weugan's suggestion to purposefully charm jammer and evan, snapping her wand on tadershacourt.. oh god the storytelling.... it's killing me.......... there's a lot more to say about this episode but this is getting long even for me

episode 10... episode 10 how i love you.... this episode is admittedly pretty sparse when it comes to big moments for sam, but i just adore it and danielle looked beautiful here (as she did every episode but it's still worth saying) so i'm bringing it up. OH and obviously jammer, k, and sam's conversation with tabby was devastating but that goes without saying

which brings me to the finale.

i truly will never be able to thank aabria enough for giving sam the spotlight here. not only do i think that it was incredibly meaningful to begin with sam coming face to face with her deepest fears in order to save the world, i think that it was deeply narratively satisfying to have sam, the person who has spent her entire time on screen reaching out and showing people kindness, be the one to hold the reins on a ritual to change magic forever. it's worth mentioning that jammer has done the same, but he didn't need to take charge like sam did, and i think it makes the most sense that he and the rest of the pilot program would be there to support her as the ritual went on.

sam's breakdowns in the beginning and then again during the scuppers match were truly, genuinely some of the most emotionally resonant scenes i've ever seen in D20 history, which is saying a lot. the joy i felt as the ritual "ended" and the pilot program had changed magic was insane. and i honestly believe that i wouldn't feel that way if sam hadn't been there.

this has been an extremely long-winded way to say: sam butler is my favorite dimension 20 PC to date. i was completely blindsided by how drastically my opinion of her would change between seasons, and i couldn't be happier about that. it has been so rewarding to watch sam evolve from her first iterations to who she is now, and i cannot overstate just how impressive and inspiring danielle radford's performances were to watch. her ability to match the emotional tone of every scene she's in is beyond amazing, and the love she has for sam shines through her performance like light through a lantern.

tl;dr: sam butler's arc in misfits and magic has me on my fucking knees it's so good. danielle radford you will always be famous

First of all. The new Glitch intro looks freaking awesome, I noticed that they left out V this time so sorry V fans, you won’t even get to see her in the intro lmao

Something I’ve been thinking is Dr Chambers. Even though it was just a random guy that accidentally was in Dr Chambers suit, where was the real Dr Chambers? And why was he so important? Was he friends with James? Idk

YEVA SCENES!! I know @dreamii-krybaby was freaking out about that. The moment where she was trying to help Nori was really cute too, I wish we got too see more of her

AND WE FINALLY GOT A NUZI CONFIRMATION!! I think N just assumed that him and Uzi are dating after the hand holding scene which I find adorable. Him also telling Nori about it was super silly, he was writing it like it was those “will you go to prom with me” signs

Them screaming and hugging before they eventually split will always hurt me AND HIM PATTING HER HAIR TOO?! He’s so in love with his wife u guys he missed his wife
