You almost scream when something falls into your basket, certain that you'll have to deal with a large bug.

You soon calm down when you realize that your sudden visitor isn't a bug, but a tired garden fairy. He leans against your basket, looking worn out, causing sympathy to well up inside you. You push some of the berries inside your basket his way, causing his eyes to brighten.

After that, you've had a little fairy stalker following you around everywhere. But you don't mind – he's cute and harmless, after all. He fits into all your dollhouses and gets full eating just a few berries, so there's no way he's anything dangerous.

In fact, he helps you out a lot! He makes you tea and helps you clean despite being so tiny. And it's really cute when he sits on your shoulder or gives you little cheek kisses or little gifts! You're still wearing that necklace with an adorable acorn charm he made you.

So of course you appreciate his company. Besides, you've been feeling a little lonely as of late, what with so many of your friends getting sick lately. You're not sure how you avoided the weird stomach bug that's been going around, but you don't really question it.

Because really, why would you ever question it? It's not like you're aware that your new little fairy friend enchanted that necklace of yours to make your friends sick whenever they talk to you, nor are you aware that he's been feeding you enchanted tea to make you more fae than human, hoping to whisk you away to the fairy realm.

Because really, why would you ever doubt him?

boothill thinks it’s fun to play around with his synesthesia beacon. turn it to a million different pitches or inflects just to see what irritates you most. sometimes, he’ll even do his best to recreate the voices of your boss and coworkers to watch you jolt out of your skin. to him, it’s hilarious and a worthwhile endeavour.

but your favourite is when he keeps it closest to his voice. when he tunes it just right to sound like himself after he’s done messing around. you like it when he’s himself as he hums and sings along to different songs, his favourites to sing being ‘Tiffany Blews’ mindlessly, ‘Before He Cheats’ when he feels like being annoying, and ‘Something About You’ while he’s playing with your hair (you introduced him to bedroom pop one night to break his whole only country and rock mindset and it surprisingly grew on him).

he’ll wrap his arms around your waist and perch his head on your shoulder as he twirls a couple strands, “she looks just like a dream, the prettiest girl i’ve ever seen,” with his sweet southern accent and smile. it’s almost enough for you to forget that he’s a wanted man and stole the last piece of bread that morning… maybe next time, boothill.

#I would get orange juice. black coffee. AND iced coffee ($3) because I love the variety of having multiple drinks #then sausage and scrambled eggs ($8). Then sauteed mushrooms ($3)....AND... hrm.. then spending the remaining $4 would be hard #I wish I could get waffles (as they are my favorite and are superior in every way compared to pancakes. donuts. etc.) but I'm not willing #to give up the other savory things just to get them. so... then maybe I could get a biscuit or english muffin? and just put jam or #honey butter or something on it so it can be my replacement 'sweet and bready' thing instead of something from the $5 row??#OR I could also just assume that having the orange juice plus iced coffee would provide enough of a 'sweet element' to the meal #(since I largely prefer savory foods. I only like a tiny bit of sweet added for variety) and thus forego any sort of #'bready' thing entirely and just get the bowl of beans/onion/tomato (I'd leave the avocado since I don't like the #texture of them really lol). THEN I'd have $1 left to get the milk or the black tea... increasing my total of random drinks..#which is always the goal of course.. as a chronic ''person who is sipping at 5 different drinks at their desk simultaneously always'' perso #OR... I could just do.. waffle. scrambled eggs. sausage. mushrooms. and black coffee and orange juice.. which is... okay variety #augh... so difficult.. As my Ideal Breakfast is like a buffet type thing or something where you have like 25 different things to choose fro #and can get a little tiny bit of everything. My eating style is very much like.. I'd rather pick at a small amount of a ton of #different things than just have a very large amount of only one or two things. Thats why I LOVE sample platter type stuff.#So it's like... augh... the ideal option would be a tiny portion of EVERYTHING actually lol...#Difficult to choose...#ANYWAY.. Also no idea why I added croissant instead of bagel. I only thought about that afterwards. I do actually like bagels.#I've only ever even had a croissant like 2 times in my entire life. Yet I've had many bagels. For some reason it stuck out in my mind more #when I was considering 'essential breakfast foods' somehow... how could I forget them... bagels my beloved...#Blame it on the hot weather... 'What in the blazes? The sun hath obliterated the concept of bagels from my miind!'#(< meant to be said in a silly overdramatic elderly wizard accent or something)#Also I don't think ''bowl of beans. onion. avocado. and tomatos.'' is necessarily a breakfast classic or something gbhjjh #but I was just trying to think of a versatile vegetable-ish side that could be full of common breakfast additions #so people could do stuff like ''oh I get the toast option and then the bowl of stuff and I put the avocado on the toast'' etc.#Like a mix and match. You could mix ingredients from different parts. You could put scrambled eggs and bacon and onion #on the bread or soemthing. etc. I just feel like something is always missing if a Full Breakfast Spread #doesnt have some sort of onions or beans or mushrooms or asparagus or spinach like... some sort of thing that isn't just eggs and meat and #bread.. you know? lol..#But then again.. I am the Sampling Plate Style Variety Lover and Tiny Portion Of Food Picker so maybe thats just a me thing.

i feel like maul would get into tea because the perfectionism and theatre of good tea making would appeal to his inner neurotic thespian. he would also just enjoy flavors, after knowing food scarcity. a small 6oz cup is probably the right rate of hydration for him post lotho minor, on fuckin repeat all day of course, so i imagine he picked the habit up naturally.

Lapis having better endurance kinda makes sense. Course I don't know rose biology, but plants in general have pretty slow and inefficient respiration compared to animals. So makes sense they'd get tuckered out more easily.

It does make me wonder about the finer points of their biology though. Like do they have self contained roots in their stomach to absorb water and nutrients? How reliant are they on ambient temperature for their sap to flow? Can they graft parts together like actual rose plants can? Are they prone to dismemberment because they don't have mineralized bones?

(sorry I am very autistic about plants)

no need to apologize mate! <3 nerding out is half the fun anyway! I'm having fun, at least! :3 I already decided that Roses hibernated through the winter months (while most Dragons stay awake) so it'd totally make sense they rely on ambient temperatures a lot to keep moving and functional! I think Roses can graft body limbs together (and taking a piece of yourself and pouring magic into it is one way to create a child) and they are prone to being chopped and cut and crushed very easily because no bones! Or at least no bones like a human! XD I vibe with the idea their whole bodies contain roots to act as a stomach- and it fits with some other parts of the Rose culture I was working out, so thank you for articulating it like that!
