Summary: Being Bakugou’s girlfriend, you had to get used to his jealousy. Even though you got used to it, you still chose to not deal with it and so you became close friends with the one guy he could trust. Eijirou Kirishima. Here’s how it worked out.

So we all know how Bakugou and Kirishima’s friendship works but I headcanon Y/N (or this story’s version of Y/N) and Kirishima to have a friendship very VERY similar to André Harris and Tori Vega from the show, Victorious. Bakugou liked the fact that his best friend and girlfriend got along so well ESPECIALLY since he wouldn’t have to worry about other guys that Y/N would become friends with. He could trust Eijirou to stay just friends with Y/N and the friendship became ridiculously hilarious.

Not even a little *picks up pillow and hits the couch with it at every upcoming word* And I *hit* don’t know what *hit* to do! *hit*

[Y/N] *Offers out bowl* .....Want some Mashed Potatoes?

[Kirishima] No I don’t want any- .....Gimme da bowl *takes bowl and walks to other side*

[Y/N] Okay, why are you with this girl if you don’t even like her?!

[Kirishima] Because of her daddy *eats*

[Katsuki] Who’s her daddy?

[Kirishima] *Speaks with stuffed mouth* Hawks

[Kirishima] I know! That’s why I’m upset! *takes spoonful bite of mashed potatoes* ‘Cuz I know, what I’m doing is wrong! 😭 .....are these potatoes hand mashed?

[Y/N] Yeah, why?

[Kirishima] They’re lumpy

*Timeskip - Bakugou, Y/N, and Kirishima are all sitting on Y/N’s bed with their backs against the wall holding cups of coco*

[Y/N] You think you’re in love?....With Jirou?

[Kirishima] ....I think so..

[Katsuki] Okay, what happened tonight?

[Kirishima] I don’t know..we were just in gym gamma, working together, all night, and then we took a break and she played music and started singing and I sang with her. Then she showed me a song she’s been working on and I offered to help and then she started singing again and she just looked so...pretty and sweet

[Y/N] Okay but dude, you can’t love Jirou!

[Kirishima] You think I don’t know that?! Kaminari is one of my best friends and I would never try and move in on a friend’s girl. Uh-Uh, I don’t play that way.

[Katsuki] Good! So just..forget about this-

[Kirishima] I CANT! ARGH-OW *distressfully rubs temples*

[Y/N] Well why can’t you?

[Kirishima] Alright, you see. Ever since I was little I could never hold my emotions in. I could never keep my feelings inside, even if I want to, I just can’t. I always had to be honest with myself and let it out. Or else I get wonky in the head! *Rubs temples*

[Y/N] Okay-

[Kirishima] I- *broken sobs*

[Y/N] Okay-

[Kirishima] Argh- *broken sobs*

Sonic & Tails R: A Love Letter To Miles Tails Prower’s Characterization

Warning: This will contain massive spoilers for the short radio play series of Sonic & Tails R. If you haven’t listened to the radio play yet on Youtube, I’d highly recommend any hardcore Sonic fan who hasn’t seen it check it out. It’s one Hell of a treat.

For as far back as I can remember in my childhood, Tails’ story of trying to step outta Sonic’s shadow has been such a resonating one for myself. Even when I was a much younger kid playing my Dreamcast, during entries like Sonic Adventure 1 & 2, there was some idea lingering about why Tails just stood out more emotionally in his journey to grow beyond depending on Sonic all the time for help. Now here I am a young adult in my late twenties having such a deeper appreciation of this little two tailed genius kiddo because he’s got an important element that’s made him so beloved for good reason.

In spite of his genius being a rival to that of Eggman’s high IQ and of course proving to surpass it plenty of times when scenarios boil down to being a high stakes battle, Miles Tails Prower beneath it all is still just like any one of us. We’re all trying to find our place in this world about what defines us for who we are as unique people. He wants to be more than just seen as someone who’s alongside Sonic The Hedgehog’s never say die attitude, but prove he’s plenty capable of standing on his own two feet to protect everything the kid holds dear to himself. Underdog stories, when they’re naturally executed very well, can reel me in so easily. They are very much my bread & butter trope I adore seeing.

To no one’s surprise, the two Sonic Adventure’s iterations portrayal of Tails’ characterization are hands down some of my favorite writing for the two tailed fox, regarding what the 3D era has done toward him, development wise. It gave him more of an existential struggle to endure like, “What happens when Sonic isn’t around to help stop Eggman? What if I’m not strong enough to accomplish what he can?”, making Tails plight to be seen as an equal all the more endearing when stopping Eggman in his climatic battle against the Egg Walker in Station Square. This here is a great use of a timeless lesson you can apply in life that if you set you heart and mind on anything, there isn’t a thing you can’t accomplish on your own, which is why many fell in love with Sonic Adventure 1 & 2′s writing for Miles Tails Prower’s journey of independence.

As someone who comes from a large family tree of relatives, I feel the weight of my existence on my shoulders at a number of points more than I’d care to count, admittedly. Seeing Tails struggle with his sense of purpose, in contrast to observing how much Sonic has accomplished with his carefree, yet deeply compassionate attitude, means the world to me in watching another trying to comprehend their value as a whole on how much they matter, overall. This is a big part of why my fondness for SA1 & 2′s quality has never wavered over these years, besides still obviously enjoying most of their game play mechanics. People can try to debate to their heart’s content on whether the Adventure games still hold up in their own eyes, but I’ll always respect them for how they tried to develop certain characters, such as Tails, Gamma, and Shadow The Hedgehog notably, to attempt expanding upon their characters, as well as world building.

I won’t bother going into a rant about how Sonic’s recent 3D games have butchered Tails’ personality & relatable nature, due to the current writers in charge of handling the cast of characters. More or less, I greatly empathize toward the notion many have already stated about Tails being so cowardly and God forbid, looking at Lost World, downright severely mean spirited. Rather, I’m obviously writing this lengthy post to breakdown why Sonic & Tails R succeeds, where these certain 3D games have greatly faltered in exploring Tails’ emotional dilemmas as an insecure, yet still having the courage to prove himself, talented boy full of hidden potential he doesn’t quite realize, until his back is against the wall in life threatening situations.

“That day, I realized I couldn’t depend on you forever. Not that I can’t depend on you, but like, “What happens when Sonic isn’t here?”, you know?”

Sonic & Tails R further delves into this fundamental rule of what has defined Tails in Sonic Adventure 1 & 2′s stories of events where Sonic wasn’t there to aid his best bud in taking down Eggman’s evil efforts for global domination, most importantly his fear of defending the Earth without his role model. Besides what I already stated in SA1′s events in Station where he stopped the Egg Walker, as well as the missile Eggman launched from detonating before their climatic battle, Tails watched Sonic blow up in ARK’s capsule presuming him to be dead after Sonic imparted how much faith he has in the kid’s abilities to be truly strong in the face of any foe. Sonic & Tails R manages to use fan service in a way that doesn’t feel like “pandering” for the sake of it, using this past canon material to do more of an in-depth study about Miles’ anxieties of existing without Sonic.

Wouldn’t put it past them if EmuEmi & crew were using SA2′s Sonic death fake out scene in that space capsule to further add trauma to Tails’ psychological attachment to Sonic, as well as his insecurities of depending on him too much, to boot. While it’s never obviously outright stated in their radio play, I definitely believe they were factoring this element into adding dramatic exploration for why Tails is so self-conscious about the worst case scenario of permanently losing Sonic. Watching Sonic supposedly die put Tails into a deeper state of self-reflection, so I very much enjoyed how they went using these past events to create a thorough exploration about him learning just as it’s important to realize you need to stand up for yourself without using someone else as a crutch all the time, it’s doubly important to remember there’s nothing wrong about asking someone for help when you’re about to be down and out with little options left.

Sonic & Tails R beautifully builds upon the foundation these two games’ stories left behind years ago, creating new damn great material to explore with the most iconic characters of this cast, Sonic & Tails brotherly dynamic. I’ve been praising Sonic & Tails R out the wazoo for how well it captured Tails underdog story of overcoming death defying odds, but it managed to remind me how simply adorable and outright wonderfully endearing their brotherly chemistry is as a whole. This is a big friendly reminder Sonic isn’t all about being cocky wise cracking character making meta jokes left and right, but he can be plenty capable of showing serious compassion to anyone he values as an ally and friend. This is no greater evident, than with him verbally lifting Tails up in his time of need when he’s self-depreciating his own significance. It can be seen in Episodes 2, 4, and 7 giving Tails motivational pieces of advice.

Episode 2 In Adabat’s Cavern

-Sonic: Wasn’t it your radar that helped us find these Emerald shards in the first place? How could you be slowing us down when you’ve gotten us this far?

-Tails: But, I...

-Sonic: I could never make something like that. You’re the smartest person I know, Tails. One way or another, we’ll figure this out, count on it.

Episode 4 In Holoska After Helping Silver Save The Chao

-Sonic: So, what was that back there? At the cave, in Adabat? -Tails: What do you mean? -Sonic: Frozen stiff. Confidence shot. It’s not like you. It was more than feeling like you were “slowing us down”, right?

Episode 7 Inside The Egg Carrier 3

-Sonic: Let’s split up! I’ll distract them and you can go after the energy source. -Tails: You’re gonna take them on all by yourself!? Let me help, Sonic! -Sonic: No time for this, Tails. Stop overthinking and just go! If I can get their attention, I’ll take the heat off of you and that room you’re going to probably won’t have any security. Take this emerald and I’ll take the other one we have. It’ll lead me right to you after I beat these guys. -Tails: O-Okay... -Sonic: Hold on, Tails! Listen to me. Don’t stop moving and be careful. I’ll be fine and so will you!

Sonic & Tails R remembers the most crucial detail of their important relationship. One isn’t better than the other and needing to always rely upon that notion for helping one outta a jam, but instead showcases how they’re equals as a team/bros. Sonic may be super fast and strong, however Tails has his intelligence to analyze situations in a different angle Sonic wouldn’t necessarily consider, per say. Which isn’t to say Tails couldn’t put up a fight either, as we’ve seen in SA1 & SA2′s stories where he faced Eggman one on one with no outside help to best him at his own game of wits & strength.

We get see the apex of this idea through Tails facing Eggman in his super improved mecha walker. Although Tails may get thrown for a loop here at first by Eggman, it’s his villainous speech about winners and losers in their world that ironically does the exact opposite of what he intended. Eggman wanted to crush Tails’ sense of self worth before finishing him off, but all it did was reignite the very lesson Sonic told him earlier before running to distract Eggman’s robotic minions. That said lesson of he’s more than capable of facing dangerous threats

-Eggman: Poor boy. We all have to learn this lesson, sooner or later. In every game there’s no one you can depend on. You’re all alone and you’re either a winner, or a loser. And as you know, loser’s lose all of their lives. Say goodbye, fox!

-Tails: You’re wrong! I can depend Sonic! I won’t let him down! I can’t because...Because he’s depending on me! And because of that I won’t lose to you!

This radio play strikes a good balance in utilizing the grey moral area about depending on someone vs it being an unhealthy display of attachment derived from serious insecurity. Word’s can’t begin to describe how much I loved this moment to pieces because it’s oh so important for writing Tails’ characterization. If you’re going to tackle him being super self conscious about his reliance on Sonic, then you gotta remember why they are so close to one another to begin with. Sonic & Tails have an unbreakable connection, considering they’ve brought out their best qualities in themselves from being together as individuals. For Sonic, it’s his older brother compassion to Tails to bring him outta feeling melancholy. For Tails, the kid finally understands there isn’t anything wrong with depending on Sonic when he needs it most.

After all, that’s what a real healthy friendship is all about. Whether you’re giving someone a dose of tough love, or simply a piece of motivational advice, it defines how much you truly care about someone, period. Sonic & Tails have this very same power from their bond, which is why new emeralds form from their compassionate friendship that hasn’t been shaken after all the years they’ve been together. Another detail worth noting is it adds to the lore in an impactful manner when Tikal expresses in Episode 8 about positive connections and thoughts from users of the Chaos Emeralds having a strong will & heart. Using the ideas they had for encapsulating Sonic & Tails’ dynamic to create new emeralds from their love for each other as brothers adds an emotional weight.

“So, Sonic’s not the only one who harness the power of the Chaos Emeralds? I can too!?”

“Yes, you have a strong heart! There is a power waiting to be unlocked within you, as well.”

I’d always daydreamed about in my childhood seeing Super Sonic & Tails take down a threatening villain, whether it was Eggman or different powerful creature such as Chaos or the Biolizard. You can imagine how fucking giddy I was beyond belief to see this artwork of Episode 9′s cover for the radio play. Tails not only got to have another one on one with Eggman, but a team up with Super Sonic in his own respective Super form? Sign me the Hell up! Talk about an all you eat buffet of good writing for Tails’ journey reaching its climax. Getting to hear this play out, alongside the amazing song of Fly With Me, made it authentically feel like something straight outta if there were an installment of Sonic Adventure 3 being brought into reality, which certainly feels like it now.

Episode 9 has so much awesome stuff with Sonic & Tails working together in their super forms. Particularly, my favorite scene is at the beginning when Sonic teaches Tails how to navigate his newly acquired speed in his respective Super form. My heart melted hearing Sonic help Tails through it all, while he was overjoyed about how fun this new form is for himself. Wholesome Sonic & Tails content is the perfect daily serotonin for me, easily. It’s an awesome fun fact to know they used a scrapped boss from Tails Tornado segment in SA1 for Eggman’s flying dragon three headed robot in their big final battle, once again using old canon material in a very effective manner to boost the quality of their fan made story.

It’s been a real thrill to hear Mike Pollock play a straight forward serious Eggman making my day in more ways than one, considering that’s another thing I’ve been yearning for desperately besides Tails being a competent character again. His performance in Episode 9 when Eggman gave that speech about how long he’s been at odds with Sonic & Tails stubborn will power was simply excellent. The moment he told his mechanical dragon to crush them I got serious chills. That’s the Eggman I remember and grew up with. He could be a hammy villain sure, but Eggman wasn’t a doormat that could be swiftly beaten. Robotnik can be considered a serious threat in his own right and this radio play nailed it down to the very letter with how much he predicted their actions.

“Sonic, all I ever wanted to do was be like you. You’re not scared of anyone or anything. I could never be like that. At least, so I thought. I grew from that, but then I got so caught up in trying to prove it that thought it wasn’t okay to depend upon anyone, especially you. I just didn’t want to be that scared little kid in Station Square anymore, but now I understand. It’s okay to depend on your friends. It all means is that we’re stronger together, so the next time Eggman comes back and wants to start any trouble with you, or any of my friends. Emeralds or no emeralds, he’s gonna have to get past me and he won’t!”

Sonic By Episode 1′s End: Aww, yeah! Adventure, here we come!

Tails By Episode 10′s End: Aww, yeah! Adventure, here I come!

Turn your thoughts into power. Be all that you can be.

The ending legit got me choked up because what of they decided to do for wrapping up Tails journey in a poetic fashion. Having Tails go off on his own separate journey to grow more independence pulled on my heart strings perfectly. Very much so, as I’m transitioning slowly, but surely, into gaining more freedom to go out into the outside world in my own life. Concluding the story, by Sonic & Tails holding onto the two Emeralds their bond had formed from positive energy, due to their powerful friendship, was so heartwarming. This is how you write an overview of what makes Sonic & Tails chemistry work so well as it does.

Sonic & Tails R’s ending represents while some things never change, like Sonic and Tails bond for each other, it also shows there’s very much a necessity for people to grow, hence Tails’ whole solo journey in the epilogue. People can’t stay in the same place forever and will need go about finding their own path, even if it means saying “goodbye” periodically for a notable amount of time.

It’s for these reasons I’ve listed in great explanation above throughout this detailed post cement Sonic & Tails R high on my list of favorite Sonic fan projects. They captured the magic of what made the Adventure games so beloved. Gonna be looking back on this passion project for many years to come. Everyone involved in this year long effort of a project dating all the way back Summer of 2020 ought to be immensely proud for how much their hard efforts paid off in the long run.

Dazzle Me - Kirishima Eijirou

Overview: After meeting the new girl that’s transferred into class 2-A from Shiketsu High, Kirishima thinks it’s love at first sight and can’t seem to get her off his mind. Little does he know just how perfect she is for him...

Kirishima’s troubles all started the minute you walked though the oversized door of the newly minted class 2-A.

He was currently idly resting his head in the palm of his hand, tapping a pencil against his desk while trying not to think about the soreness in his arm and shoulder muscles from pummelling the punching bag in his dorm room last night. Having to wrangle Bakugou’s hot head into line all day could really do that to a guy. His musings were soon interrupted by their homeroom teacher.

“Alright class, listen up. We have a new student joining us today. She’s just transferred to U.A from Shiketsu High, so I expect you all to make her feel welcome.”

Aizawa concluded his speech by gesturing to the doorway, inviting the person hovering outside to take a step into the curious atmosphere of the homeroom.

At the sound of your hard leather shoes clacking across the floor Kirishima slightly ceased his mindless tapping, raising his eyes to take in the visual of you making your way across the front of the room.

The pencil dropped from his hand and rolled under his desk as he sat bolt upright in his chair, lips parted and eyes wide. Without a smidge of a doubt, you were the most beautiful girl Kirishima had seen in his mere 16 years of life. Small smile flickering on your rosy lips as you rolled your shoulders back, head held high in your determination to project a good first impression onto your new classmates.

Kirishima’s eyes ran up and down you slowly, taking in your crisp new uniform of white shirt, red tie cinched at your throat and black socks pulled up to your knees. In the back of his mind he knew it was unmanly to stare, and especially unmanly to think the thoughts that were flashing through his mind as he gazed at your legs, but damn he couldn’t help it. The good angel sitting on his shoulder could wait.

“Go on, introduce yourself” said Aizawa, nodding his head to the class of students gazing intently at you, expressions ranging from curious to eager.

“Hi everyone, my name is L/n Y/n. As you know I just transferred here from Shiketsu High, due to my parents moving to Musutafu for work. U.A is a lot closer for me to travel, so it was a no-brainer decision. Um” you hesitated then flashed a cheeky smile. “Just between us, Shiketsu and some of the students were a bit too intense. I’m a bit more laid back.”

Kaminari let out a whoop from the seventh seat “Right on!”

You smiled then quickly looked back at Sensei before facing the front again. “As for my quirk... well I’m sure you’ll get to see it in action later today.” Grinning, your eyes scanned the room before dropping a quick wink. Yep, Kirishima could already feel the butterflies start up in his stomach.

Aizawa directed you to your new seat at the back of the room before addressing the rest of his students. “Make sure to introduce yourself to L/n throughout the day. I’m sure she would like to get familiar with all of you.”

Why on earth was Sensei looking at him when he said that? Kirishima thought. Wait, was that a smirk playing on his lips too! Confusion set in.

As the day went on Kirishima couldn’t help but notice you wherever you went. Somehow his gaze was always drawn to you like magnet. He was even able to pick you out of the crush of students in the hallways, walking along with your books tucked under your arm while you were deep in conversation with Ashido and Yaomomo, both of whom had taken it upon themselves to act as your guides and new friends at the unfamiliar school. Kirishima hadn’t even noticed he had stopped dead in the corridor until a body bumped into his, shouldering past roughly then looking back.

“Oi! Shitty Hair! What the hell are you doing standing there like a loser?” Of course it was Bakugo who had jostled him. Never one for patience or to beat around the bush.

“Yeah dude! What are you looking at anyway?” That was Kaminari, popping into his eyeline as he trailed Bakugo down the gleaming halls. Positioning himself as best as he could next to Kirishima in the crowd, Denki angled his body until his gaze mirrored Kirishima’s point of view, the stun-gun hero scanning the crowd eagerly until his gaze landed on where you were stood at Ashido’s locker, head thrown back as you laughed at something she said. Immediately his face cracked into a grin.

“Ooooooh lookie here. Mr Red Riot can’t keep his eyes off of the new girl huh?” He laughed, throwing an elbow into Kirishima’s side teasingly. “Can’t blame you dude. She’s a knockout!”

“No! I wasn’t looking at her, I was...uh...never mind.” Kirishima’s hand came up to his neck as he looked down bashfully. There was really no point in arguing with Denki. Besides, it was true. He couldn’t keep his eyes off of you.

“Tch! Come on you extras. Quit standing around!” Bakugo said, his bellow loud enough to be heard over the din of the student body. Just as they were about to move to join him, Ashido let out a screech from across the hall.

“NO WAY! That’s incredible! Just like Ki-mmh!” Momo’s hand clamped across her mouth, muffling her next words as you frantically tried to shush her.

“Mina-chan! Everyone isn’t supposed to know yet. Besides, I want to see what everyone else can do! I want to be... dazzled.” You let out a giggle. “Pardon the pun.”

Kirishima hadn’t meant to eavesdrop but Ashido’s clamour had really caught his attention. His curiosity increased tenfold at the words he had managed to briefly catch. Just what was your quirk exactly? Dazzled? The sturdy hero’s head swam as a million possibilities flashed through his head. He was intrigued by you, there was no doubt about it. And hearing you giggle.... man. Those damn butterflies just wouldn’t get out of his stomach.

The rest of the day passed in a blur until it was finally time for 2-A’s practical Hero Studies class in the afternoon. An excited air crackled all around the hero students as they eagerly awaited not only for their most anticipated class, but to finally see the new girl’s quirk. The air of mystery had permeated the classroom for a good majority of the day, with many students musing over the possibilities of what you could do. Midoriya was practically vibrating in excitement as he couldn’t wait to quiz you on the elusive quirk you were hiding.

After collecting their costume cases and heading to the change rooms, all the students stepped out into Gym Gamma. You were the last one to finish getting changed as your hero costume had to pass inspection from the staff. Stepping into the gym to join everyone else, the girls crowded around you to examine your costume.

Clad in hues of bright white and icy blue, your costume bared an awful lot of skin. A cropped halter top covered your chest and most of your neck, rising high to encircle your throat but dipping low in the back. Tight white shorts exposed most of your legs, while a cord ran down the length of your stomach, connecting your top and shorts together. Heeled white boots completed the look. However, what was most startling about your outfit was the abundance of diamonds. Sturdy diamond cuffs circled your wrists while loose gems decorated the connecting points of your costume. As a finishing touch, a diamond circlet ran across your brow. Exclamations of delight arose from both Ashido and Aoyama, who were in awe.

“Tres magnifique ma cherie!” Aoyama said. “Your twinkingly could only be rivalled by moi!”

Mina agreed, looking at your outfit in delight. “Y/n chan you look super cute! Definitely a showstopper.” Uraraka and Asui nodded in approval.

Glancing over at you standing there in your costume, Kirishima privately agreed. He thought you looked beautiful even in your school uniform, but that was nothing compared to how you looked now. And with that much skin exposed.... Kirishima felt heat rise in his cheeks and he quickly looked away, now determined to control the not so decent thought that were raging in his mind. Oh yeah, he really needed that good angel now. Others weren’t so discreet though.

Kaminari was openly gawking at you, jaw hanging to the floor as he ogled your body. Even Sero, who was more controlled than most of them was looking in your direction with wide eyes.

“Bro!” Kirishima knocked Kaminari round the head. “It’s not very manly to stare.” Yeah he was a hypocrite all right.

“Dude can you blame us! LOOK at her!” Kaminari yelled back. Sero grinned sheepishly and looked away. “Well we still don’t know what her quirk is, but it must be something flashy. Look at all those gems” he said.

It was at that moment that All Might stepped into the gym. Sunken eyes gazed at the eager students assembled before him as they waited for what he had to say.

“Alright class, as you know Miss L/n has joined you all in 2-A and will be a permanent addition to the class. It was a decision made by myself and Mr Aizawa that her quirk be kept under wraps until now. She truly...ahem...shone at Shiketsu High, and I would like her to demonstrate her power in the practical lesson we will have right now. So, Miss L/n, if you would please take your position in the middle of the gym, I will select a student to spar with you for this practice match.

You smiled at your teacher before you walked to the centre of the field, turning to face your classmates on the side line. Just like Midoriya you were practically vibrating in excitement. You couldn’t wait to finally be able to demonstrate what you could do. You definitely didn’t class yourself as one of the best fighters, but with much encouragement from your mentors at Shiketsu, you had come a long way by developing your quirk.

“Bakugou. If you could please join L/n in the centre.”

Gasps arose from the students as they took in All Might’s request for Bakugou to spar with you. Kirishima’s heart immediately jumped into his throat as he looked on in disbelief. What did All Might think he was doing? Bakugou was ruthless. No way would you be able to take him down easily, if at all. Looking at you standing in the middle dressed in your blue and white costume, you suddenly appeared very fragile. Anxiety rolled off of him in waves.

Mutters filled the air as Bakugou strode cockily to the centre of the gym, stopping metres away from you in the middle. Many of the students clearly shared Kirishima’s feelings. How on Earth would you cope with the explosion hero? The only ones who looked calm apart from All Might were Ashido and Yaoyorozu. Both stood as close to the sidelines as they could get, eager smiles on their faces as they looked at you expectantly.

“You got this Y/n chan!” Ashido whooped.

“Guys! She’s going to get hurt! Not many people can stand up to Kacchan!” That was Midoriya, fretting over your safety. No one knew more than Midoriya Izuku about tangling with Bakugou.

“Let’s get this over with All Might. This will be easy” leered Bakugou, smirking at you.

All Might only stepped back, retreating next to the crowd and leaving you and Bakugou alone in the middle of the concrete gym. “Begin”.

At once Bakugou sprinted forward, lighting up his hands and blasting off into the air in an explosion of red and orange heat. Hanging in the air, a yell left his lips as gravity took over and he began his descent, angling his hand forwards towards where you stood on the field, not moving a muscle as you looked up at him.

Kirishima could hardly watch, hand gripping Kaminari’s arm tightly in anxiety. All he could focus on was your form, standing still and looking up at the incoming attack that was sure to send you directly to Recovery Girl. His heart was beating at a million beats a minute.

Finally, as Bakugou got closer and closer, you moved. Stepping forwards, you planted one foot behind you and held your arms out before crossing them in front of your chest in an upwards ‘X’, bowing your head and bracing yourself. Closer, closer, Bakugou’s hand was coming down, heat brewing at his palm again as he prepared another devastating blast.

Horrified gasps could be heard amongst the assembled students as it looked like you were toast. But then... you transformed.

Kirishima’s eyes were huge as he fixated on your skin, looking on in disbelief. Your entire body, from your legs to your face had become translucencent, textured all over in millions of facets that covered you from head to toe, throwing millions of rainbows in the air around you as you moved. Your skin had become diamonds.

The redhead’s pulse instantly quickened as he gazed at the way you dazzled. He couldn’t believe it. You were just like him, just like his pal Tetsutetsu. However, you and your quirk were way more beautiful. Taking in the incredible gleam as you stood there waiting for Bakugou’s explosion, he thought you were ethereal.

Bakugou’s crimson eyes had widened as he watched you transform your entire body into diamonds, but it was too late. He had already let the explosion loose from his palm. As the blast rocketed in your direction you stood firm, taking the brunt of the explosive force on your forearms, remaining unbothered by the sheer heat unleashed in your direction. Instead, you smiled as the bright light that engulfed your body from the blast reflected off your diamond skin, bouncing back into Bakugou’s path as he fell within range of the millions of piercing rainbows shattering into the air.

Blinded by the intense refractions from your diamond-hard body, Bakugou fell wildly back to the ground, no longer able to brace himself for the impact as his hands covered his eyes from the shocking gleam. “Thump!” He hit the ground hard and rolled over and over, coming to a stop on his back with his arms covering his face.

“Argh! What the hell shitty woman! What did you do to me!” Bakugou yelled, unable to see from the light that had reflected into his eyes. You raced over to him before crouching on the hard concrete to reassure him. “It’s okay, Bakugou. You’ll be fine. You’ll be able to see in a couple of minutes. I haven’t permanently blinded anyone... well not yet at least.” You looked sheepish.

All Might strode over, assisting Bakugou (despite his reluctance) in standing up and guiding him off the ground onto a nearby bench. The rest of the class looked on in pure shock. The exceptions were Mina and Momo. They were too busy trying to conceal their glee, looking at you in amazement and happiness.

Still in your diamond form, you walked back to the group, coming to a stop in front of the 21 pairs of wide eyes that took you in from head to toe. You smiled nervously, hands clasped behind your back as you waited for what they had to say.

“That... that was INCREDIBLE L/n!” Midoriya shouted excitedly, notebook already clutched in his hand ready to take notes on your quirk.

“You can turn to diamond! That is so cool! Kaminari yelled in his excitement, pushing to the front of the crowd and dragging Kirishima behind him.

“Not bad at all.” Shinsou, the quietest of the bunch murmured.

“Young L/n, do you want to introduce your quirk and hero name to your classmates?” All Might asked from where he stood next to a dazed Bakugou. “As well as briefly field any questions your fellow students may have about you.” He said.

“Sure.” You said, turning to face you classmates with a grin. “As you can see, my quirk is called diamond-skin. I can turn my entire body to diamond at will, taking on the properties of natural formed diamonds. As a result, my body can withstand high temperatures and is extremely durable, as diamonds are the hardest substance in the world.” You then looked down nervously, before shyly glancing back up. “Um, it took a while for me to become confident with my quirk. As a kid, everyone thought that it was just pretty, being able to turn my skin to diamond. Flashy for sure, but not really hero material. I obviously knew my body was super strong, which is what encouraged me to enroll into the hero course at Shiketsu. It wasn’t until my teachers started putting me through the paces and experimenting with both offensive and defensive strategies that I really saw how handy it could be, like that trick with the light.” You let out a giggle, rainbows dancing across your skin with the slightest movement.

A dopey grin played across his lips as Kirishima listened to your laugh. Damn, he had to admit it to himself. It was like his dream girl had come to life right before his eyes. You could fight, had an amazing quirk, an incredibly cute personality AND you were stunning? It was safe to say he was head over heels.

“And your hero name?” Jirou questioned curiously from the huddle.

“Oh right!” You said, taking a step back and placing your hands on your diamond-hardened hips, body dazzling in the light. “I’m the Million-Dollar Hero: Diamonde!”

Voices surrounded you in a wave, all agreeing with how perfect the name was.

One voice cut through all the rest though. “Hey L/n! Come meet my bro here! You’re like the female version of Kirishima!” Of course it was Kaminari, anxiously tugging on Kirishima’s arm to get you to look his way.

You looked up, lips stretching into another one of your cheeky grins as you pushed through the huddle until you were right in front of him. Kirishima chuckled, arm coming up to rub his neck shyly as he took in all your beauty. You glanced at them both, still grinning as you put your hand on his shoulder.

“I know. Sensei told me that there was a boy in this class with a similar quirk. I kind of wanted to surprise you. After all, I haven’t met anyone else with a quirk similar to mine. This is so exciting for me too!”

Ahhhh. Now the look Aizawa had given him that morning had made sense. He knew all along. Laughing, Kirishima met your gaze. Despite your face remaining diamond-hard, your eyes were filled with warmth.

“Well I must say, I was super shocked. Your quirk, and the way you took down Bakugou...” He looked away nervously before meeting your eyes once again. “You’re dazzling. Er... pun not intended.”

You giggled. “It’s okay. Not to sound conceited, but I get that a lot.”

You deactivated your quirk, diamond texture melting away until your skin was back to its normal smoothness. At the sound of All Might’s approach you turned to face your teacher as the class fell silent. Bakugou trailed in behind him, pushing his way though the crowd until he was on the other side of Kirishima, pausing to throw a reproachful glare at you before turning away.

“Well class now that we are all acquainted with L/n, please match yourselves up into pairs. Today you’re going to be working in partners to spar and take it in turns honing both the offensive and denfensive sides of your quirks. I’m taking it easy on you guys today, but I can’t say it will be the same next week. So pair up and let’s go.”

Kirishima hardened his right arm before raising it and placing it next to yours. ”Well since I know what you can do now, wanna spar for this lesson? I know one of your tricks now, so let’s see what you think of mine.” He grinned teasingly.

You looked at his arm before meeting his eyes, face breaking into a smile that was just as dazzling as the rest of you. Bouncing on the balls of your feet in excitement, you activated your quirk in your arm before lacing your hand with his and tugging him further into the gym.

Looking down at your entwined hands, diamond and rock together, Kirishima’s heart raced. Finding a space for yourselves in the massive gym you stopped, letting go of his hand and stepping back in preparation.

“Okay Kiri”- he blushed at the sound of the nickname rolling off of your lips before you gave him another wink. “Your turn to dazzle me.”

At the sight of that wink again, his knees felt weak. Oh yeah, he was in love.

Gazing intently at the redheaded boy across from you, you quickly reactivated your quirk, turning your face to diamond before he could notice the blush staining your cheeks. Smiling to yourself, you mused over your first day at U.A while preparing for his attack. You really couldn’t wait to get to know him more.

Peter Parker x Reader Stark

Peter woke up on Friday morning, dreading the day to come. "Wakey Wakey Petey Pie!" The voice of Clint came ringing through the vents. He groaned and rolled out of bed, not wanting to face Flash, his teachers, the Avengers, and the most scary thing, Y/N when she finds out how much sleep he got in the past six days.

-Henry the time skip-

"Bro! You made it! Flash was teasing you for not being here yet." Ned smiled when he found Peter running to the bus. "Hey! look! Penis finally decided to show up! Get ready Penis for all your lies to be exposed!" Flash called from behind them. "Hey, Flash, acting like a dick doesn't make yours any bigger." Sometimes Peter was happy to have MJ as his friend. "All right everyone, onto the bus! Peter, may I talk to you real quick?" Peter looked and Ned and MJ as they got on the bus and headed to Mr Warren. "Uhm, yes Mr Warren?" "Peter, I really think it's time to give up the lie about the Stark Internship. I get wanting the attention after your Aunt's death but this has gone on long enough. If you don't end this, I will probably take this to the Principal and it may result in expulsion. Now onto the bus you hop." All he could to was nod and get on the bus. Looks like he may just be taking Mr Stark's offer and go to MIT.

-Sally the time skip-

As the bus pulled up to the front of the tower, all the students were buzzing with excitement. What Peter didn't realise is that Happy would be accompanying the students on the tour.

"Alright everyone, off the bus." Just as Mr Warren says that, he notices two people start to walk over to them. "Hi, may I help you?" The lady speaks "Hi, my name is Ella and I am your tour guide of today. This to my right is out head of security, Happy. If you could please follow me inside." The class follows her inside, staring at the place in awe. Peter tries to hide in the back so he won't be noticed by Happy. Happy scans the crowd, becoming surprised when his eyes land on Peter "Kid, what are you doing here? I just dropped you off at school half an hour ago!" All eyes land on Peter. "Hey Happy, I'm just here on a field trip." Happy nods and gives him a small smile. Mr Warren is surprised yet still doesn't believe Peter. "All right everyone, eyes on me please...Thank you. Now! I am going to hand out your badges, please keep them seen at all times. These will deactivate at the end of they day so you are welcome to keep them as souvenirs." She calls out names and hands out white cards to everyone but Peter, not realising this. "Why do you have a different colour to us?" Cindy, a girl in Peter's class, asks.

"Great question! Here at SI, we have different badge rankings. So, there are 4 different levels of badges and 3 sub divisions in each. They are Omega, Gamma, Beta, and Alpha. Alpha has only two sub divisions though. At the very bottom is Omega 1, you guys, which is mainly for tour groups. The badges are always white. Next is Omega 2 which is used for people coming for business meetings. Their cards are black and white checked. Then there is Omega 3 which is for people who come for Press conferences. Their cards are orange."

A hand raises and Ella picks on him, him being Flash. "Yes, you in the front." He quickly glances at Peter "Why does Peni- I mean, Parker not have a badge?" She looks at where the class is looking and smiles warmly at Peter, obviously hiding her annoyance at Flash's almost slip up. "Oh! Hello Peter! I didn't know this was your class." She turns back to Flash. "The reason Peter doesn't have a badge is that Mr Stark has a strict no re-print policy and Peter already has a badge." Peter grabs his lanyard out of his bag and places it around his neck. Happy is fuming at the name and glare Flash is giving Peter. Mr Warren is also glaring at Peter, thinking he forged a badge.

"As I was saying, next you have the Gamma division. Gamma 1 is tour guides such as myself. We all have a blue badge. Then you have Gamma 2 which is family and friends of Employees. As I can see, 2 people here have one. They are red." Everyone looks at Ned and MJ quickly but back to Ella. "Then finally Gamma 3 which is security. They all have black badges. Moving us to the Beta division. Beta 1 is medical staff and they have yellow badges. If you see one, get out of their way. Beta 2 are Lab scientists and Interns their badges are purple. Beta 3 is Personal Interns and the badges are green."

Flash's hand is up again. She nods at him "If Parker is an Intern, why isn't his badge green and is instead read and gold?" "Good question. Peter is Mr Starks personal intern and has an Alpha level badge because he needs to go wherever Mr Stark needs him to go." Flash huffs and Ella continues. "After Beta we get to Alpha. Alpha 1 Is all of the Avengers. Their badges correspond to their Avengers outfits. Then there is Alpha 2. Alpha 2 only is in the hands of 6 people. Tony and Pepper, their daughter Y/N, Peter, Happy Hogan, our head of security and Colonel Rhodes. Tony, Pepper and Peters badges correspond to the Iron Man suit, Y/N's corresponds to her hero outfit. Happy's is Black with a White stripe and the Colonel's is Black and Grey like the Iron Patriot. Now if you will follow me through security, swipe your badge on the pad and walk through the scanner, like so" As Ella scans her badge, a voice out of nowhere calls:

Ella Patterson, Gamma 1, tour guide

Peter is shocked at how robotic F.R.I.D.A.Y makes her voice sound. He has never heard her sound not so friendly. About half the class jumps and the other half duck. Ella lets out a small chuckle. "Don't worry everyone, that was just F.R.I.D.A.Y, Mr Stark's personal AI. She runs basically anything so if you have any questions and don't feel comfortable asking me, feel free to ask her. Now if everyone will do what I did." Kathy, another girl in Peters class, raises her hand. Ella points to her. "Does F.R.I.D.A.Y stand for something or is it just purely Friday?" Ella lets out a small laugh. "F.R.I.D.A.Y stands for Female Replacement Intelligent Digital Assistant Youth. Now if you could all scan your cards." Flash strides up to the front, acting like he will have a higher card, and scans his badge:

Eugene Thompson, Omega 1, Tour group

He pouts and walks, standing next to Ella. Finally, it was Peter's turn. Here goes nothing.

Peter Parker, Miniboss, Alpha 2, Hello Peter! You are home early, shall I inform the boss of your arrival?

Peter was blushing scarlet. "Uhm, Yeah, Hey Fri, no need to inform Mr Stark, I'm just here on a school field trip."

I'm sorry, Miniboss, but it looks like my protocols are being overridden. Miss Stark has been informed of your arrival, sorry Peter.

Peter sighs in frustration and looks over at Happy, who is trying not to laugh, Ella, looking amused and Mr Warren and the rest of his class glaring at him. As Ella starts the tour, Mr Warren pulls Peter aside. "Look, Peter, I don't know how you convinced those people to know you and how you hacked Mr Starks AI, but you are on a thin line young man. Don't make it worse!"

Maine, staring at Wyoming as chatter can be heard from the latter's helmet:...

to Defend Desti’s Death

I’m not particularly one to make major response posts like these, but I feel these thoughts I’ve had have simmered for quite a while now and I just wanted to get this off my chest. To some that may know, I’m a fan of the Anime Arc cuz honestly, it was fun and hype to sit through. On the look back, it still is, even with the noticeable drawbacks. But I won’t deny that the moment we fans know is divisive is one for a reason. For some, it was bad and other say it was good but frankly I haven’t seen many properly explain why. Which is where I want to come in momentarily, give my two cents on why Desti’s passing worked on an objective level.

Initially, and I hate doing this, but I gotta respond to the most notable saying of why it doesn’t work. So link here for the argument: https://todpolle.tumblr.com/post/185301760988/meme-gene-scene-how-to-kill-a-life. And I only wish to say, no hard feelings @todpolle. I’ll get to the main argument in a moment but I wanted to discuss the setup point where it revolves around the deaths of Avocato from Final Space and Gamma from Sonic Adventure.

Now truly, I remember these passing moments fondly but I feel that comparing them to Desti’s death is noticeably unfair if we wanna talk contextually. Like if we’re taking both series to its full context, Final Space has the disadvantage where it resurrected Avocato while SMG4 kept Desti dead; the resurrection not only undercutting the weight of the initial departure but having not as much weight as before. Much as I like Avocato, having a “No One’s Ever Really Gone” approach to Final Space kinda devalued the idea that death is permanent for Gary and his friend, if only for a moment. If Desti’s resurrected later on, I’ll eat that crow, but that is doubtful. Though, if we take season 2 out the equation, it’s fair to say both deaths have their considered impacts with who it affects especially.

I’ll express that a little later, but I want to move over to Gamma’s death where, and I hate to say this, it’s an unfair comparison all around cuz Gamma’s story doesn’t have the same set pieces as Desti’s because contextually his death was understandably sacrificial, he willingly self-destruct after knowing his true identity. Heck, you can’t even stack Gamma’s with Avocato’s because his heroic death meant something far different than the other two. Nah, I say the death reminiscent to Desti’s the most is with Aeris’ of Final Fantasy VII. But, I think it’s fair to first point out what this counter purposefully omitted: Desti’s character.

Now it would stand to believe the most we see of Desti aside the anime arc is “If Mario was in Splatoon 2”. But to say that is all to her character is being ignorant towards her character because the anime arc furthers expressed who Desti was as a character. She was prideful, no-nonsense, loves being a step of Meggy even when it means playing unfair. She was basically Meggy put to a logical extreme. In “Splatoon 2″, “Meggy’s Bootcamp”, and “Mario Showdown”, we see that seed of how much Meggy means to her as a rival and how focused she can be when it came to their rivalry, considering her the biggest threat in the Splatfest games. These traits are expanded in “The Splatfest Incident” where she is willing to her pride aside for a moment to help the gang find Meggy when she goes missing. The search for Meggy doesn’t throw away her hot-headedness and pride however, as we see in “The Inkling Disappearances” and “Mario and the Experiment” that she is more than willing to throw down regardless of what stands in her way, even to where she’s making her and Meggy’s escape into a challenge.

More importantly, we get to see a soft side of her where she isn’t fully aloof and tries to be there for her team, or those she come to find as close as she gets. You get to see her bond with someone she wants to fight free and true to form. I say the writers did their job in giving us reason to stand with Desti, make us like her beyond being the Negachin. She’s much the better half to Meggy, the Zero of Megaman X, the being our main inkling girl strives to be in the right way. Now, I wanna talk about Aeris.

Aeris was a very cool character in my eye when playing FFVII. She’s not Tifa but she still had a badass charm to her, especially in the part where she and Cloud go a rescue/date to infiltrate a brothel that held Tifa hostage by helping Cloud disguise as a woman. It slows the game down in a good way, giving us some time to know Aeris. Like Cloud, you get to feel just as attached to her, in both the story and gameplay where she is a boss when it comes to magic. She shows herself as the one that helps Cloud shed his initial machismo and is a very considerate friend while they’re on the journey to escape Midgar. She certainly has more of a character than what most of the images on Google would make you believe. I’d say like with Aeris, the anime arc subtly make you invested in Desti. And like Desti, it happens...

Now I can say, yeah, this shouldn’t make sense. But really, as much sense as I wanted to wrap my brain around why this shouldn’t have happen, this emotionally got me every time. I say what makes this work, what makes Desti’s death worked, comparative to the previous mentioned, is how it worked it’s way both before and after the moment. For Aeris, you can feel the weight of her loss in our main characters in the story and in the gameplay where with her gone, it’s pretty hard to fill the void of what she excelled at. Put that with what we got to see of her which makes the loss all the more shocking. Which makes Cloud avenging her with his final conquering over Sephiroth all the more cathartic. Now I’m not saying Desti’s death had as much intentional thematic development as Aeris’s, but when you take into account how it is structurally, especially the aftermath, the oomph of it all feels just as real, feels respectfully impactful for what it did.

But before I get to my main point, I wanted to address another point against this case where “SMG4 was supposed to just be a comedy like Spongebob and such, this totally goes against that tonally.” Which, I don’t know what else to say beyond “Did we watch the same show?” I can understand not liking the 2nd half of the anime arc writing wise, but it’s not like the arc turned everything into a whole different show all together. We weren’t getting some Heavy Rain type melodrama shit, the tone of the 2nd half was clear, the objectives were there. It wasn’t that heavy-handed, it wasn’t that serious, they didn’t sacrifice the comedy all together for some oscar-bait Gotham brooding bullshit. A dumbass Monkey like myself could understand the direction the bros were going with that arc, regardless of whether I liked it or not. It is pretty myopic to think a series like this can’t and shouldn’t be anything else beyond a skinner box type comedy, because god forbid experimenting with the stories in lieu committing to a considerable routine most of your career to keep a certain mindset happy and buttfucking numb. *sigh* I apologize. To carry on...

I’ve talked about this before, so if you want here’s a link about the funeral scene of the arc’s final episode (quick read), but I wanna say that with Desti’s passing, they treat it with respect. They have their couple of jokes, but they don’t treat it like a joke; Desti's death would’ve been a lot more insulting to me if they didn’t take it as seriously. It showed that yeah, that shit hurt, it was not expected, and we’re with the gang as we see Meggy and them send her off, guns out. We’re with the characters where all that happens and it felt... organic. Like I said before, Desti was “someone who appeared to be distant and feisty but still had a heart. Someone who was among people that [grew to] care about her, in life and death.” Whether we consider it was for shock or not, she made her impact, it hit hard in the end, and they made the moment matter in the respective time.

And like Final Space, this affected the likes of Meggy the most, a character that had the most connection to Desti than the others, all while the others respect her grieving and trauma that came with it. Moments like “Something’s Up With Meggy” and “Mario Does the Chores” show that that stuck with her for real, and they don’t treat like some sick running gag. SMG4 mentions it not long afterward but respectably knew not to dwell on it for the rest of the year until “The Grand Festival” where it comes back as a soft, yet optimistic reminder.

Now I won’t say you can’t have your issue with the arc, I have my issues with it. But to say Desti’s death was crap was to objectively ignore the effort they put into making it a solid plot point, a solid heel turn for both Desti and Meggy. To ignore that they gave us a good character to basically just feel mad that they pulled the rug from under you. And I would’ve been mad too if killing her off was done poorly, but it wasn’t. The bros didn’t make a whole masterpiece, but they did what they set out to do and I say they pulled it off well for what it was. For who Desti was.

endgame time

okay i figure i might as well post all my thoughts on the movie and get all of it out at once

the good shit (oh yes i loved iron man 5)

the tony and nebula interactions were so good. so soft. love that sweet validation of them being stuck for 3 weeks and getting along. TONY OFFERING HER THE BLUEBERRIES on their last day of oxygen and her pushing his hand away and tony immediately scarfing them all. tony thinking of a complete stranger’s needs before himself even as he’s dying. fucking good shit a+

when he stepped off the jet and it was STEVE who rushed immediately to catch him lmao my heart nearly leapt out of my chest. a beautiful cinematic stevetony moment.

“i lost the kid, i lost the kid” holy shit superfam........ SUPERFAM. how he looked so distraught and heartbroken like he knows he took a teenager up to space with him to fight the greatest villain the world has ever faced and he LOST him and the way it broke him saying it out loud as steve was holding onto him

the catharsis of tony having his big “I WAS RIGHT FUCK YOU” speech and then collapsing afterwards. SHIVERS. and it was fantastic seeing rdj physically weakened and looking like crap surviving for 3 weeks on the ship with zero supplies. WHEN HE TORE THE REACTOR OFF HIS CHEST AND SHOVED IT INTO STEVE’S HAND. “where were you when i needed you” “we’ll lose together. you said we’d do that together too, LIAR” (not a paraphrase) oh my gOD. fucking deserved. his righteousness, his betrayal, his hurt. so excellent. loved that for him. all the avengers watching him with mild concern but also resignation knowing he WAS right and they’d treated him like he was crazy two years ago for nearly losing his mind because he was so worried about the threat of impending invasion.

5 YEARS LATER. steve holding support group was such a great moment of continuity from him watching sam holding the veterans group (a first win for samsteve in the movie), i loved him still wanting to create a space for others to share their trauma and to talk. the painful irony of having a whole cap trilogy and 4 avengers movies and having so few scenes of steve actually talking about his trauma and instead having his experiences filtered through other people’s dialogue has been so fucking painful and endgame continued to screw him over (see below lmao) with this one but i thought this scene was still a nice touch.

really enjoyed natasha saying she’d found a family and a purpose in THEORY but it wasn’t backed up enough by the context. she was running point on what was left of the avengers essentially but it felt more work related than “oh we’re a FAMILY” which the avengers has never been as much as they might try to act like it for one line of dialogue that’s meant to be so meaningful

AVENGERS ENDGAME AS A TIME TRAVEL CAPER. holy fuck a literal au come to life. loved it. we got a whole stevetony going undercover in the 70s on a mission which was awesome. spy!steve and spy!tony shenanigans. the throwbacks to 2012 avengers and continuations of the scenes we saw in the movie were so so much fun.

america’s ass. god bless. tony thirsting after steve in every world in every universe in the multiverse.

“i missed that giddy optimism” he also missed that ass, apparently

they really fucking WENT there with the hail hydra but i thought it was a smart (if smug) wink to the audience of steve one upping the hydra guys and taking the scepter from them.

STEVE LIFTING MJOLNIR!!!! steve WIELDING mjolnir and doing the lightning thing. THAT’S MY BOY!!!!!!!!

being 90% sure that tony was going to die going into this movie i knew it was nails in the coffin the MOMENT we saw the 5 years later flashback and we were at this beautiful house and tony was married and playing with his kid. it seemed gratuitous, it seemed too good to be true. and it’s everything tony deserved and more. the domesticity, the beautiful simplicity and quietness of having a wife and a kid and being surrounded by so much love. I LOVE YOU 3000. i love you 3000. holy shit. you cannot tell me or anyone that tony isn’t the best dad in the whole damn universe. that kid was so loved, so adored. all along, all tony has wanted is a family. he just wants people to love him and people that he can love that will stay. and he got exactly that. he got five years of that and maybe it’s not enough but being a superhero it never is. i’m glad he got that 5 years.

RESCUE PEPPER was incredible. gwyneth got more screentime than i thought she would. seeing pepperony flying their suits in the sky was SUCH a trip ironfam really won this whole event.

tony being bitter and putting up a front when natasha, steve and scott came to visit him. it was so jarring watching steve seeing tony with the happy family and life he’d never been able to have, always an impossibility to him. steve jumping the gun with “is pepper pregnant” in cw. such a bittersweet moment. it’s one of those very classic comic moments in the multiverse where they have a wild au concept and they lull you into a false sense of security that everything is beautiful and perfect and happy until they have to ruin it all again and go be heroes. it was very that. except the happiness and love was all REAL and tony got to have it.

their conversation about how everything had worked out for him and how he had a family he couldn’t leave behind..... bro he really got me (and the avengers) there. do you really think THE tony stark could ever live happily ever after knowing half the world was dead? either he’s going to die trying to bring them back or he won’t be able to live with himself at all. the simulations were such a satisfying move. his conversation with pepper. her telling him he wouldn’t be able to rest. it was tony asking permission but also telling her that he was going to go and leave behind their life to do what he had to do. the subtext of that whole scene was really fantastically done.

PETER AND TONY. THE PHOTOGRAPH. HIM LINGERING ON THE PICTURE OF PETER LIKE OF FUCKING COURSE HE HASN’T HAD A MOMENTS REST NOT THINKING ABOUT HIM.

so anyway. tony invents time travel. we love a genius. he also invents an infinity gauntlet. incredible.

i was holding my breath the entire scene of tag when they were tossing the gauntlet back and forth mf wAITING for it to land near enough to tony. i knew it was coming but like,,, jesus christ part of me wasn’t sure when they had bruce do the snap. they skipped a lot of the technicalities of wielding the actual gauntlet (like not going mad from power and having the whole weight of the universe inside your head at your fingertips) probably to keep from weighing the story down but THAT would have been a brilliant touch to seeing tony finally getting the stones. and having them slot into place on his OWN GODDAMN ARMOUR. TONY STARK FUCKING DID THAT.

“i am inevitable.” “I AM IRON MAN”. literally the most iconic line of the entire marvel cinematic universe and tony gets to say it as the biggest fuck you the biggest villain they’ve ever faced. loved it.

so yeah the gamma rays taking tony, baseline human out, vs. bruce was a much less satisfying end than having it be the weight of the whole universe and the promise of madness and infinite power. but this is the ending tony deserved. we always knew that one or more of the OGs would die and it was tony and this is exactly the way this should have gone.

tony died saving the entire universe. he died sacrificing himself and HIS future with his family for the avengers and for the universe. the story of the mcu begins and ends with his sacrifice. he wouldn’t have had it any other way. to know that what he did, what he’ll be remembered for, is saving the universe. it validates all the selflessness and heroism and grace we’ve always known he has when it comes to being a hero. tony isn’t the hero that gives speeches and moves peple to action, he’s the hero that just DOES the thing that needs to be done. the one that will lay his life down on the line to let everyone else crawl over him because he wouldn’t be able to live knowing he hadn’t done more. him dying meant that he’d finally done enough. he finally gets to rest. and getting to die surrounded by the ironfam was such a beautiful touch. tony stark is unquestionably a hero. his legacy will always be one of sacrifice and heroism and creating the possibility of a better future. he has always, constantly, relentlessly been working to build a future he will never see that is better and stronger and more resilient than the present; it’s inherently a part of being a futurist that he will never get to see this world that he’s willingly given up everything for. and in the climax of the final battle, he gave up HIS future so that the rest of the universe could have one, and if that isnt the most tony stark thing i’ve ever heard idk what is.

the unsolvable problem of the avengers

how do you write the culmination to a grand universe of 22 movies with the avengers being the cornerstone of that massive cinematic vision when your avengers aren’t even really a team? what are we supposed to root for when none of them seem to visibly friends or even like each other except when they’re in pairs? what “TEAM” are they referring to?

the avengers from day 1 aren’t a team. they aren’t a family. there’s no sense of camraderie in any of the movies between them all as a unit.

we had ONE scene of teamwork in the movie where they were locating the stones and planning what to do with them. the shot of nat bruce and tony lying on the conference table was great, but unearned. why should we care when they haven’t shown us how these people care about each other outside of saving the world once every few years? we don’t watch superhero team-ups for the cool fight scenes we watch them because we want to see these heroes actually care about each other and the BOND between them that makes them a worthwhile team on AND off the battlefield.

there’s no sense that even strategically, they work well as a team. steve is the leader sure and tony provides the tech but apart from that? there’s no spark. there’s no connection between them that makes us thing oh shit, this could really work. they’re on the same wavelength. they’re going to try and do the impossible and it shouldn’t work but it just might because it’s them.

cannot emphasise this enough: not enough carol danvers. she was yeeted out of the movie after her intro and then came back for the final battle and that was it. she should’ve been THERE in the war room coming up with plans and going to the space destinations with the teams. it was ridiculous to have the future leader of the avengers and the legacy of the mcu not be front and center with the (non-existent) team dynamic. it fucking bewilders me that CM could write and develop a fury + carol friendship better than her dynamic with ANY of the avengers, her future friends and teammates.

so, the avengers aren’t really friends. they’re coworkers who occasionally put up with each other to save the world and that’s fucking depressing and arguably why all the avengers but tony were so badly fucked over in the character development and ending of endgame.

the bad shit (full circle rip)

thor and bruce were treated like comedic relief for too much of the movie. i wasn’t expecting bruce to have much of a storyline because he never does but his conflict was solved with a handwave explanation in the beginning “oh i have the best of both worlds now, i’m both banner AND hulk the brain and the brawns”. was such a bizarre fucking feeling. and the insinuation that he’d just been chilling in the 5 years post snap with his new updated hipster wardrobe taking pictures with fans??? what the fuck? what kind of storyline is THAT? he should’ve been WITH natasha helping her deal with the fallout of the snap and working with the remainders of the team. what the fuck.

thor was done EVEN dirtier in this respect. it’s as if all the ugly stans that hated and mocked tony’s im3 ptsd storyline decided to put their messy caricature of him into a character arc. hemsworth pulled it off, to his credit and comedic delivery, but it wasn’t a story fitting of the mighty thor. there IS a way of writing thor going through trauma, trying to process the loss of his entire world and family and people, without reducing him to an absolute farce. imagine a thor, treated with gravitas and respect, lost and kingdomless and peopleless wandering the world, a recluse and a hermit, like the better side of the coin to hawkeye, but being called back to heroism because he couldn’t stand by and do nothing. idk if its the taika effect or just the massive turn that the thor trilogy took but i think the overt humour was the wrong way to go with thor and it made his entire storyline seem regressive and like they were laughing at him more than they were laughing with him. i would’ve accepted taking a leaf out of dc’s book (i.e. diana and arthur in JL) if they had to go down this path with thor’s story, of having him retreat from the trauma and grief of what he’d lost. because his pain was understandable, you could very clearly sympathise with what he’d been through but they turned his pathos into bathos and let his storyline play out in jokes instead of being the noble warrior and hero finding the strength to believe in people and have hope and fight for the world again. endgame really made a mockery out of thor’s legacy and not knowing if there’ll be another thor movie............... god he deserved better.

clint?? we don’t speak of mcu clint but idk. i gUeSs the russos achieved what they thought they wanted to achieve with ultimates clint going full rogue and becoming a lawless deadpool but without the jokes. (ugh 616 clint... you will always be the only clint ever.) of all the characters that SHOULD have a lighthearted ironic storyline, it’s CLINT BARTON. he semi redeemed himself by wanting to die instead of natasha??? thereby absolving him? idk whatever lets not think too hard about mcu clint.

i think most of fandom has long given up on mcu natasha so it’s less an issue of “this isn’t the natasha we deserve” and “well how badly can they fuck this up”. i think natasha’s development was well-handled and it was a Relief to have her final moment be between her and clint, purely driven by platonic love and all the shit they’ve stood by each other through. i don’t know that she needed to die, clint easily could’ve fallen instead of her lmao. but her being prepared to die for the fate of the world has been a theme since aou and i was glad it played out her seeing the necessity and pragmatism of sacrifice. i liked how she said “you think i want to do this?” because of course she doesn’t, ofc natasha romanova who’s lived through the rise and fall of empires and died so many deaths, wants to live. but she’s also a hero, and she’s spent so many years working to be a better person (when she said the avengers made her better g o d loved that line) and she knew what she had to do. idk that this was a fitting end for her but i thought her character development was well done (even if the team itself is a shallow non-existent “family”) and her sacrifice, alongside tony’s saved the universe.

ok don’t let the shortness of these points belie how much they annoyed me but CAROL deserved more screentime RHODEY deserved more screentime. SAM AND BUCKY deserved more. for characters that are so charismatic and bring so much life and dynamism to the avengers it was a fucking shame that they didn’t make the most of them. carol and rhodey especially. the lack of carolrhodey air force interactions and tonyrhodey was offensive.

sam getting the shield and the little moment of passing the shield was amazing but At What Cost

so..................... steve. oh boy. oh fuck here we go. the mcu has never known what the fuck to do with steve and i have written countless answers and thinkpieces and meta posts about it. the most heartbreaking part of steve’s story is that the avengers is literally his life. it’s tony’s life. and it is to many other avengers but all of them have always had something else to fall back on. steve has always only had the avengers, or the army or SHIELD or whatever affiliation he’s currently part of. his purpose and his drive is part of the team and whatever Thing he’s part of that he can throw himself into and embody. not having the avengers be a fully functioning team and misfit found family really handicapped his entire storyline and possible development. you could argue that steve found a family with the capfam but it’s really having a Team of people to lead and befriend and become family with that’s integral to steve’s character. his story as steve rogers, not captain america, is about finding a home and a family in the 21st century. making peace with what he’s lost in the past so he can live in the present and fight for the people of the present and future.

it’s ironic and tragic and an absolute abomination for steve’s plot to literally be about regression. as if nothing has changed. he hasn’t learned anything from tws he hasn’t moved on, he hasn’t been able to let go “but not us” (AND WHY THE FUCK NOT RUSSOS?) he hasn’t been able to grow or make peace or find catharsis. he was SUPPOSED to, burying peggy, letting go of her. getting bucky back. but the setup of the mcu and the failure of the avengers as a team and family has actively kept steve from being able to ground himself in the present. the mcu ripped sharon carter right out of their universe so she never stood a chance. bucky had to go back under ice. natasha was running point with the 5 years later vengers. so in the end capfam is just???? sam and steve? his only support system is two and a half people?? it fucking breaks my heart. steve DESERVED a family. steve DESERVED a home. and even if mcu wasn’t going to let that be all tony stark-related there should’ve been SOMETHING.

also, my expectations for stevetony was 0 but we got more than i thought we would. there was no development in terms of their actual relationship but as the filthy stevetony shipper i am happy with the cheap meal we got. there should’ve been a conversation between them about what happened, about what went down, something to tie together the avengers and the “trust” they wanted to establish between them. something like tony keeping the phone with him all this time. a little comic parallel “we still friends?” “never stopped”. just. Something. we needed more than “you trust me” “i do” in the time crunch of a mission. it was unearned. idk how this conversation would go, literally there are a hundred choices that i’m sure we’ll see play out in fic but one final big conversation between the two cornerstones of the mcu involving heroism, sacrifice, where they stand as heroes, how they see each other, who they are to each other. something like tony and steve always, at the end of everything, at the heart of who they are, seeing through each other’s masks and facades and personas and SEEING who the other person is. a tiny mcu nod to “you gave me a home” that ties the past and present and future together. tony believing in steve. steve believing in tony. i could’ve forgiven mcu all it’s other stevetony sins if we just had that.

just spitballing but – tony: you know, i never wanted to be a part of this thing. the super secret boyband. it was never supposed to be me. steve: we made it work though. for the most part. until we didn’t. tony: even when it looked like there was no way of ever getting the band back together a part of me still believed you. gullible of me, i know. but i wanted to think that if there ever came a time when we had to make one last stand, as avengers, we’d do it together. like it was always meant to be. steve: i know. tony, i – tony: i should’ve called. steve: it’s a two-way line. i could’ve, too. tony: that’s how it always seems to be with us, huh? shoulda woulda coulda. always just missing the mark. always just out of reach. steve: i’ve thought about it a lot. about what i would’ve done differently. what i would’ve said. tony: that’s why you need me, cap. i mean, hell, it doesn’t have to be me but we all need someone to tell us to get over ourselves sometimes. to stop beating yourself over the head with your own mistakes. steve: [laughs] that’s rich, coming from you. tony: maybe. but i’m a firm believer in second chances. steve: you think that’s what this could be? a second chance? tony: i know it. futurist, remember? i’ve seen it all happen. steve: oh, good. we could use one of those. maybe you could tell us if we survive tomorrow and save everyone. tony: we will. because things are different this time. steve: this time? tony: the way it should’ve been. you and me and everyone else. together. we can win. steve: now who’s the one with the giddy optimism? tony: i prefer to call it hopeful pragmatism. after all, i’ve run enough simulations. steve: i do, tony. i trust you. tony: well, we’re betting the future of 5 billion lives on this. steve: i know. and there’s no one i’d trust more to do it.

Battling My Elements - Chapter Two

Bucky Barnes x Reader

Summary: After finding a girl abandoned in a HYRDA facility, the Avengers bring her home with them, trying to re-integrate her into the world. Her quick wit and no bull-shit attitude catch the eye of a certain metal-armed super-soldier. Will she let them in, or will she shy away? Afterall, it is easier to be lonely.

A/N: Sahhhh dudes, chapter two all done and dusted. I also changed the title, the old one…well it sucked. I don’t really know what specific days I’ll be posting chapters, but I write on days that I’m not working so I don’t really have a set schedule. But I will try to write after work and when inspiration hits. So, yeah! Enjoy!

Chapter One - Chapter Three

Bucky lies on the floor of the quinjet, panting slightly. Steve rushes over to his friend quickly, asking him in a rushed tone if he’s okay. He reassures the mother hen that he’s fine and slowly starts to sit up.

He looks to his right to see the young girl laying over his arm and quickly picks her back up, carefully placing her on the medical bed. Bruce rushes over along with Tony as the pair quickly get to work on the unconscious female.

Quickly flicking his eyes over his teammates, he checks to see if everyone is alive and well, that they didn’t lose anyone. This mission was a dangerous one, Tony had got word from some of his sources that the HYDRA base they just raided, had been practising in illegal human experimentation. You know, the usual HYDRA stuff, but instead of trying to replicate the super-soldier serum, Bruce Banner’s gamma radiation transformation or even Wanda’s powers. They went old school, following in Red Skull’s footsteps. They wanted to possess the powers of the Gods.

Red Skull’s extreme failure at possessing their power didn’t put this division off. They dove headfirst into this project. Word is that HYDRA bought ‘DNA samples’ of the Gods, anything they could get their hands on really. A lock of hair from Ares, the God of War, to a fingernail from Hades, King of the Underworld and God of the Dead. Everyone thought it was a farfetched story but then Tony pointed out, they new Thor, the literal God of Thunder so the team started taking the threat more seriously.

That’s how they ended up here, Peter nursing a black eye and bloody eyebrow, Sam relocating his shoulder with the help of Thor, and Wanda struggling to get up off the floor. Seeing her struggle, Bucky quickly rounded the bed to help her to her feet and into a seat.

Crouching in front of her, hands resting on her knees, he asked: “How are you doing, Champ?”

“I’m fine,” she said shaking her head at him and leaning her head against the wall behind her. “The escape just used most of my energy.”

Seeing the concern in his eyes, she smiled slightly and placed a hand on his shoulder, “Barnes, I’ll be fine, nothing a couple of days of rest won’t fix.”

Nodding his head slightly, he turned and moved out of Vision’s way when he said he’ll look after her. He walked back to the science bro’s wanting to see if their rescued girl was OK.

Getting a look at the girl, he realised he hadn’t got a good look at her between the vines swallowing her at their first meeting and running for the jet from the attack of said vines. The soldier looked at the girl with deep fascination as Tony and Bruce analysed a projected scan of what he guessed was of the girl, that was projected on Tony’s wristwatch. She was quite beautiful. She was dressed in old, dirty camo green pants and black long-sleeve top, feet bare. Her pale complexion and blue tint were slightly concerning but was being rectified by an emergency insulation blanket. She had cuts and bruises littered over her face and Bucky guessed, the rest of her body, the worst being a deep cut through her eyebrow. Her hair was slightly oily and matted from not washing. But she still looked ethereal laying on that bed.

“What in the flying fuck, is that?”, Bucky heard from the science bros.

His head whipped to them quickly, causing his to quickly make his way over to the pair, “What’s wrong?”

Bruce scrunched his eyebrows in confusion, hands fiddling with the pen in his glove-laced hands. Tony transferred the hologram to the table and rubbed both his eyes with his now, free hands.

“Well,” Bruce said pointing to the hologram of the girl, “Her genetic structure makes no sense, I’ve never seen anything like it before.”

Confused, Bucky asked, “What do you mean?”

Sighing, Bruce presses a button on the board, causing red and blue lines to form through the body.

“You see how these blue and red lines are running through the body?”, he looks towards Bucky questioningly, which he replies with a small nod.

“Well, these are veins we would find in a normal human being.”

“Normal?”, Bucky questions.

Bruce nods in confirmation and says, “Well this is what we found in her.”

He presses the same button again; the blue and red lines are replaced by glowing silver lines.

What? Bucky tilts his head to the side, wondering what the fuck is going on.

“Exactly,” Tony says, noticing his confusion, “What the fuck, right?”

“What does it mean?”, Bucky asks.

Both the geniuses shrug, “We have no idea,” Bruce says.

‘This girl must be an experiment’, Bucky thinks.

“What if the rumours were true? What if HYDRA god their hands on actual God DNA and tried to fuse it with her DNA?”, Bucky questions.

“Tony? Bruce? You might want to see this,” Nat calls out.

Bucky turns to see her holding the files they acquired from the base, with Steve looking over her shoulder, the stolen satchel, open in his hands. He walks over to the pair looks at the files over her other shoulder. On the pieces of paper, he sees a weird twisted ladder diagram, a bunch of jumbled words and handwritten notes littering the page.

“What the hell?”, he questions.

“You see that there?”, she says pointing to the twisted ladder with ‘C’, ‘G’, ‘A’, ‘T’, printed on the rungs. “This is the human DNA code; this is what our DNA is made of.”

“OK…”, Steve says, a confused expression gracing his features.

“Well, these chemical compounds over here.” She says pointing to the jumbled words, “They aren’t even compounds. They don’t exist.”

Tony quickly snatches the piece of paper from her and looks at it himself, whilst Bruce leans in to see what’s on it. They both scan their eyes over the page, looking at the non-existent compounds. Tony nods, confirming Nat’s observation, and passes the page over to Bruce.

He looks at it closely, reading the page and stops pointing at one, “Wait, that’s not true. There’s one here that we know of.”

“What is it?”, questions Nat.

“It’s Vibranium.”

The group stare at the Doctor in shock. HYDRA’s got their hands on Vibranium now, but it makes sense. Vibranium is the most versatile component in the world, they would have some if they were involved in human experimentation. They have proof of the fact right behind them, tending to Wanda.

“What the fuck have they done to her?”, Tony asks, turning to the girl behind him.

Bruce shrugs anxiously, “God knows, but it couldn’t have been anything good.”

After returning home and changing out of their tactical gear, the team minus Bruce and Tony, sit in conference room of Avengers Compound. All waiting on answers and trying to figure out what the hell they just brought home.

“What do you think happened to her?”, questions Peter as he packs his Spider-Man suit into his school backpack.

Clint who’s sitting at the table, fiddling with one of his arrowheads, shrugs at the young spider and says, “We have no idea kid, that’s why Tony and Bruce have been with her so long. They still haven’t found out what HYDRA did to her.”

The kid furrows his brows in sorrow and feels deep sadness for what the girl may have had to endure. Knowing HYDRA, they would have most likely tortured her and done extensive experiments on her, not caring for her comfort.

Bucky shifts uncomfortably in his seat, thinking the same thing and remembering his experience whilst in HYDRA’s possession. He was under their thumb for nearly seventy years and they tortured him in so many ways. From whipping, burning, inducing hallucinations, anything they could think of really. But he soon became immune to them which forced them to brainstorm other ways of torture and control. They then tried electrocution. That, mixed with wiping his mind, seemed to hurt him the most and he didn’t form immunity to it, so it stuck. Just thinking about it now makes the soldier shiver causing him to rub his hands against his thighs. He uses it as a grounding effect, it reminds him that he’s no longer there.

He watches as Steve stands at the head of the table, shifting through files in front of him. To his left are Wanda, Vision, Nat and Sam as they talk in a small group. Across the table are Rhodey who’s writing in a report, Peter and Thor who are talking between themselves, and Clint who has finished with his arrows and is putting them back in their quiver.

The door opens and everyone quietens down as Tony and Bruce make their way into the room.

“Well?”, Steve questions, “What’d you find?”

Tony sits down at the table as Bruce flicks through the clipboard in his hands and starting with his diagnosis, “After extensive testing and research we found that she has foreign... irregularities in her genetic makeup, but that was what we expected after the scan that we did back in the jet.”

“What irregularities?”, Steve asks.

“Her genetics have been mutated using the Vibranium, which helped her body accept foreign bodies. It seems that her genetics have been fused with someone else’s, if not multiple people. Our best guess is that HYDRA was trying to create enhanced individuals and they were using her to do so.”

Bucky’s stomach drops at the thought, if it was anything like what Wanda had told them about how she got her powers, then she must have gone through tremendous pain.

“Whose DNA is hers infused with?”, asks Nat, her hand resting on her chin.

“That’s the thing, we don’t know,” answers Tony. “That girl was given a DNA cocktail, using the files we found outside her cell, we could guess a couple individuals whose DNA is now mixed with hers”

The billionaire stood and moved to the head of the table, where Steve was and continued explaining. “You know how we raided the base because we got work that HYDRA was buying ‘Godly DNA’ off the black market?”

The room collectively nodded, a couple letting out a quite ‘yeah’.

“Well, we tested the vials we got, and we compared the results with Thor’s to check if they were divine.” He reached up to the sunglasses that were on his face and pulled them off, playing with them in his hands. “We found that her DNA has been fused with several different God’s.”

Everyone was quiet as they tried to process the information. This girl, who is unconscious in the med bay three floors above them, has the DNA of the Gods in her.

Thor recovers first and asks, “Do you know which God’s?”

“Yes, we’ve found two,” answers Bruce. “Using the files found in the base, we think she has the DNA of Gaea, who’s the Goddess of Earth and is considered as the Great Mother of all creation. Which would explain why the vines were wrapped around her when we found her, and why they followed when we escaped.”

The Doctor hesitates to say the next set of genes and begins to fiddle with his glasses, causing Tony to take over, “We also think she has the DNA of Ares. The God of War.”

Everyone is deathly silent as a storm starts to rage outside, the harsh patter of rain against the windows and the crash of thunder filling the room.

“So, she has that Gaea chick’s DNA in her and that means she can control nature, right?”, Peter questions, leaning forward with his elbows resting on his knees. Tony nods, agreeing with him.

The teen nods and then continues, “Then what can she do if she has Ares’ genes in her?”

Tony shrugs and says, “We won’t know until she wakes up.”

Steve sighs next to him, folding his arms over his chest “Alright, if you don’t what she is, did you at least find out who she is?”

Tony scratches his chin and says, “FRIDAY searched over all government data bases, police files, hospital records, we even looked on social media but found nothing. She’s a ghost.”

“How do we find out who she is?”, asks Bucky.

Tony points at him with his folded-up sunglasses and says, “That, my dear Frozone, will have to wait until she wakes up.”

Charlie walked to the front door of the tower which was open quickly by Happy who gave her one of his rare smiles. Princess stood patently next to her on her leash.

“Miss Charlotte,” Happy greeted he but was given a swift hug. “Princess,” He said to the dog giving her a soft pat.

“Hi Happy,” she said back with a grin. “You here to take me to my dad?”

“Yes ma’am,” nodding she followed him to the elevator and watched as he swiped his key card before they finally started moving up to one of the upper levels. “Your father is very happy that you’re here, and I think it would be good for him if you decided to say,”

“Did he tell you to say that?” Charlie questioned with a raised brow.

“…Yes,” Happy said knowing that she would catch him if he chose to lie. “But it doesn’t mean that I don’t agree with it. He worries about you Charlotte,”

“He’s the one flying around in an iron suit fighting bad guys, shouldn’t I be the one worrying,”

“He’s your father it’s his job to worry about you,”

The elevator came to a stop and let the three of them out being greeted by her father who stood in front of it.

“There’s my girl,” Tony said with a grin opening his arms for her to launch herself in them. She did swiftly while he spun her softly. She was a daddy’s girl through and through no matter what. Her mother was absent most her life and only ever used her for money and fame. It put quite the damper on their relationship.

“Hi Daddy,” She said with a big smile.

“And you brought my furry grandchild,” Tony wasn’t partial to pets but the large dog had found a place in his heart. Leaning down he pet the dog behind the ear before looking back up at Charlotte.

“You ready to meet Dr. Banner?”

“Yes! I want to ask him some questions concerning my research on gamma radiation,”

“Well I’m sure he will be more than happy to answer them,” the pair walked into the lab to find Bruce looking over some papers that had started to accumulate on his desk. Looking up he took notice to the girl. He had seen pictures of Tony’s daughter before but they truly did not do her beauty justice. She hadn’t talked yet but he could only assume she would be just like her father.

“Charlotte, Dr. Bruce Banner,” Tony introduced them watching as his daughter looked to be trying to not lose her cool in front of one of her science idols.

“Hi,” she said shyly. “I’m a huge fan of your work Dr. Banner it’s an honor to meet you. I actually wrote my doctoral thesis over your study of gamma radiation when I was at Harvard,”

“Did the thesis also include the Hulk in it?” Bruce asked curiously.

“Nope, why?” She stated with a tilt of her head.

“Just curious,” he said shrugging before turning to Tony.

“So, what’s on the agenda,”

“Agenda, psh who said anything about an agenda,” Tony said with a wave of his hand while Charlotte and Bruce shared a look. Tony broke under their gaze. “Fine maybe there is an agenda,”

“So, what’s up first,”

“First, I will let your geek out in here for a while and then we will be moving to my lab so that you can see all my suits and then at the end I have a surprise for you,”

“oooh a surprise, what kind of surprise,”

“One that you will hopefully like,”

The three continued to discuss every science question that had been burning on Charlottes mind. Bruce was incredible impressed with her vast knowledge and how she easily kept up with both him and Tony.

Charlotte excused herself for a moment to go let princess out, refusing to make anyone else do it.

“She’s a genius,” Bruce stated when she made it out the door. “Not just in science but even when you started talking engineering or computers she was right there with us,”

“Did you expect less from my child?” Tony said with a cocky tone.

“Well no, but I didn’t expect her to also be so humble. I was honestly expecting well...”

“Me?” Tony stated earning a sheepish nod from his science bro. “Yes, so do most people but thankfully Charlotte is her own amazing person. Kid spent a year in Africa teaching kids how to read, donates every cent she makes from modeling to help with boys and girls club, god don’t even get me started on her charity work because the list is too long. The crazy thing though is that she doesn’t think she does enough. Always trying to find new ways to help people. She doesn’t realize how amazing she is,”

“And were sure she’s your kid?” Bruce joked earning a laugh from Tony.

“Yep got the paternity test to prove it too,” Bruce raised a brow at that. “Her mother is a gold-digging bitch who convinced me she was on birth control so I could bare back it, three months later I’m hit with the news and I demanded a test to make sure. Obviously came back positive. After that I had a crash course in being a single dad when she ditched out after the birth with a fat check,” Tony said bitterly.

“And where is she now,”

“Sweden where she is actually from,” Charlotte stated catching the two men off guard. “She still comes around every now and then demanding money for this or that. Give it a few months till she finds out I live here and she will be at the door step demanding child support money,”

“But your 25,” Bruce said confused.

“You’re moving in!” Her father questioned excitedly at the same time.

“Exactly so it’s really pointless to ask for money, and yes, I decided it a couple days ago but I like to keep you on your toes old man,” The smile on Tony’s face was contagious as he wrapped her up in his arms.

“This is perfect, we can hang out in the lab together, fix up my suits…” Tony began to ramble as they walked out of the lab, him leading her by her shoulders. Shooting a quick good bye over her shoulder to Bruce she let her father pull her to his own lab. Princess let out a whine when they passed a random hall way and pulled on her leash trying to go that way.

“Princess no baby,” Charlotte said confused, she never acted like this. Letting out one more whine she let herself be pulled down the hall but still seemed curious about what was actually there. Charlie chose to ignore her odd behavior and chalked it up to being in a new place.

“So, what was that surprise you had for me?”

“Follow me and you’ll find out,” Tony said with a large grin, excitement spreading through him. Taking a turn past his own lab he got to a door at the very end of the hall.

“Every person on the team gets their own place,”

“I’m not an Avenger,” Charlie stated with a shake of her head.

“No but you are my daughter which makes you part of this team anyways,” Tony said sassily as he opened the door ushering her in.

Charlie froze as she entered the room. It was the lab of her dreams.

The floors and ceiling were all marble, painting covering the walls with beautiful bright colors. Tables for her to work on her designs sat on the side with large boards next to them. A wall of dummies was set aside for her to use to make the uniforms that she designed.

One side of the room was dedicated to weapons testing which was another one of her specialty’s.

A squeal left her lips when she noticed that piece of equipment in the corner.

“Your got me a rocket launcher!” she shouted happily. “Oh my god its pink too!” Jumping up and down she turned to give her father a hug. “Thank you, Daddy! I love it!”

“I’m glad,” Tony had to contain his comments, happy that he got the designs for her lab right. He wanted nothing but the best for his daughter. Seeing as she was going to be heading the new designs for all the avenger’s suits, and weapons. Next week she would be meeting with each of the members to get an idea of what they wanted to happen to their new uniform.

A knock of the door caught both of the Starks attention.

“Come in,” Tony said loudly enough so whoever was outside would hear. A red head walked in catching Charlottes attention.

“ah Charlotte, this is Natasha Romanoff. Also known as the Black Widow,” The two woman stepped forward while Charlotte stuck her hand out, Nat took it and shook it. They kept direct eye contact sizing the other up.

“Heard you can chock a dude out with your thighs,” Charlotte said with a little smirk that made it obvious that she was Tony’s daughter.

“I can,”

“Wicked feminist,” She praised with a little laugh making the normally cold widow give a small smile.

“So, you’ll be doing the designs for our suits, right?” Natasha said as she took a seat on one of the tables while Charlie grabbed one of the white boards that she used to draw out her ideas.

“Yep, want to know yours out now?” The blonde asked while raising brow. “If you’re not busy for the next couple of hours,”

“Sure, I got time,”

“Well I will leave you two alone, have fun princess,” Tony said giving her a kiss on the forehead before leaving the two women alone.

“So, Natasha I think I’ll start with pulling up your current suit and you can tell me what you like and dislike about it. We can then move to what weapons you want integrated in the suit,”

“I thought you only did suit design,” the spy said with a tilt of her head.

“Mh that would be what my father wants people to believe, I design half the weapons that you all receive from him,” she stated as she pulled up a hologram of the widow suit.

“So, if you make the weapons does that mean you know how to use them,” a small smirk covered Charlies face as she looked back over her shoulder at Natasha.

“I know a bit,” the way the words came out led Nat to believe that she knew a lot more than just a bit. She decided to push that to the back of her mind as the two began to dissect her suit.

A couple hours passed as the finishing touched were added to the new design.

“This is going to be awesome,” Charlie said excitedly as she spun the hologram that was now finished. Natasha stood next to her and nodded. She wouldn’t admit it but she actually had fun with the younger Stark. She was refreshing to be around, she lacked fear and the usual intimidation that most people had around her. She could easily see why Steve was so caught up in the blonde. She was extremely smart but didn’t rub it in your face, she was humble and seemed genuinely kind. To top it off the girl had a sense of humor that could kill. Natasha couldn’t remember the last time she had a girlfriend that she could laugh with. To think of it now she didn’t know if she actually has ever had a girl to be friends with.

Natasha decided that maybe this Stark wasn’t so bad after all for Steve.

“So, when do you think it will be done? A couple months?” Natasha asked as she looked at the now extremely detailed suit. The new weapons on it were some she had never seen before nor imagined.

Charlotte let out a little giggle as she looked at the red head.

“More like a couple weeks tops,” she said nonchalantly making Natasha’s eyes widen. “I work quickly when the project is exciting,” was her explanation before she turned towards the door noticing that it was being opened.

“Hello ladies,” Tony said as he entered with Princess in tow. He had come in half way through their section and collected the dog to feed her and let her out. He wouldn’t admit it aloud but he thought of the dog as his furry grandchild. The new indoor play area being an example of how he spoiled the pooch. “how’s it going?”

“Great, we are actually all finished,” Charlie answered as Princess pulled on the leash trying to get out of the room and investigate the smell that she had become familiar with in the last few days. “What is up with her?” Charlotte thought aloud while taking the leash off her father.

“She has been sniffing around the tower the whole time I had her, I think she wants to explore,” Tony stated. “She doesn’t have to be on a leash here Char, she can walk around freely. She’s a good dog,”

“I’ll let her off her leash next time, I kind of want to introduce her to everyone so that she knows that none of them are a danger. She’s a trained attack dog still,”

“Wait she’s an attack dog?” Natasha said finally speaking up.

“Course, though she doesn’t act like it.”

“Someone refuses to walk around with a body guard so I got her Princess,” Tony said giving his daughter a playful glare. Just because he didn’t have a body guard for his daughter didn’t mean that he didn’t keep tabs on her at all times. She was his only family and he'd be damned if he let anything happen to his little girl.

“I’m independent,” Charlotte said with a flip of her hair. “Besides with the amount of weans I keep on me at all times makes me believe that no one’s taking me down without a nasty fight,” she winked as her father who only cringed at the thought of his daughter having to fight anyone. “Plus, I’m a hell of a lot stronger then I look,” the way she said it caught Natasha’s attention.

“what do you mean by that?” the spy questioned making both Starks tense.

“Nothing,” Charlie said with a shrug but seemed to have a staring contest with her father.

“I trust her Charlotte, if you want to tell her you can,” was all Tony said as he got uncharacteristiclly quiet.

The blonde turned and eyed Natasha before making her decision.

“Only about four people know about this,” Charlotte said slowly. “I kind of got into some chemicals that I shouldn’t have when I was about 18. I wanted to see if mixing them would make a reaction, which it did,” She paused for a moment as she thought of how to explain what she did.

“The chemicals exploded and got all over me, though it didn’t hurt. The lab itself was on fire everywhere but I wasn’t burnt at all. Whatever the chemical turned into was all glowing and seemed radioactive so I had Jarvis run a scan but everything seemed to be safe. After that I didn’t think anything was wrong at the time so I went took a shower and then went to bed.”

“So, the chemicals didn’t cause anything?” Natasha’s said confused.

“Oh no I never said that,” she said with a smirk. “I just said it didn’t hurt. Whatever the mixture was it made me enhanced. I’m stronger and faster then I should be. My hearing and sight is perfect.”

“You are skipping the best part,” Tony interrupted earning him a glare from his daughter.

“I was getting there,” she sassed him back. “The real change is harder to explain so I might as well just show you,”

Natasha’s studied her waiting to see what she would do.

Charlie placed on hand in front of her palm up. In an instant, a small ball of fire danced around her hand.

“Holy shit,” She whispered. “You can create fire?”

“Create it, control it, be completely resist to it,” Charlotte said putting her whole focus in the small ball of fire while tossing it between her hands like a toy.

“That’s amazing. How have you kept this from everyone? I mean it didn’t take long for Tony to come out as Iron Man to everyone,”

“It was for her safety. Just like no one in the world knows that she can make the weapons that she can,” Tony butted in. “If people knew what she could do then she would be in more danger then she already is as my daughter,”

Natasha nodded in understandingly. “But what about now that she is moving into the tower? You don’t think people will be suspicious?”

“Don’t worry about that, I think it’s about time I stopped trying to hide what I can do. At least around here I can be myself,”

“Well your secret is safe with me,” Natasha’s finally said getting a smile from Charlotte.

“Thanks Nat,”

“No problem,”

Three floors up Steve sat looking at his phone trying to decide if it was ok to text Charlie to see how she was doing or if that was to over bear. He didn’t know how dating worked in this decade.

Deciding that maybe for once he would give Tony a chance and ask him for advice.

“Jarvis where is Tony?”

“He is currently leaving the labs now, would you like for me to contact him, Captain Rogers?”

“Just ask him if he could meet me in the common room whenever he was free,”

“Of course, sir,”

Tony walked back to the elevator with Charlotte ready to escort her out of the building when Jarvis caught his attention.

“Sir, the Captain would like for you to meet him in the common room when you are available,”

“Did he say what for?” Tony questioned.

“No sir,” Nodding he walked into the elevator and pressed the lobby button.

“So, did you have fun today?” Tony asked with a grin that Charlotte matched quickly.

“Ya actually I did, the lab is amazing and Natasha is super cool. I think I’m growing on her,” she joked.

“You’re a Stark, of course you are. Besides who could resist you with those big green eyes,” he said fondly kissing her forehead when they stepped out of the elevator.

“How did I get so lucky with a daughter like you,”

“Give yourself some credit Dad, you did raise me,”

“I did, didn’t I,” He said with a smirk. “my best creation,”

Rolling her eyes, she gave him a look before hugging him.

“I’ll see you on Thursday for the party,” She said when she released him. “Love you,”

“Love you too kiddo,” he said while waving watching as she walked out the doors and down the street.

“Now to see what Rogers wants,” he thought aloud while walking back into the elevator.
