cass hamada was probably the sister of mr hamada, looking at this family photo (considering that mrs. hamada looks too much of asian descent compared to cass?? just hear me out because they don't look enough alike and enough NOT alike for me to be decisive about it, especially w/ the picture quality in the scene)

now, for hiro and tadashi to still be hamada's in this case, that means that their father most likely took up their mother's family name instead, as long as we're sticking by the fact that hiro and tadashi are half-white-half-japanese.

the sad part?

once hiro and tadashi's parents passed away, cass lost her brother and her new sister-in-law and took in the children that, frankly, look VERY much like her brother. and it doesn't stop there.

either of these two happened:

1. cass took the hamada name so that hiro and tadashi, once adopted, wouldn't have to part with their family name and could still identify with their parents and culture.

or

2. cass took the hamada name because it was what her brother did. she took any chance to be closer to him and to preserve what he would have wanted after his death, and gave up her own name to take on the hamada legacy, not just so that hiro and tadashi could keep it, but because it was what her brother wanted. and she misses him.

Playing through Playfull Land on TWST, I really notice how…silent the MC is.

Spoilers for Playfull Land btw.

During Ernesto’s book 4 rant about school being only for the magically elite, and those with little to no magic having it hardest with not being given options and opportunities—I REALLY wanted the MC to speak up.

I mean, Ernesto is talking big about magic schools not accepting those with little magic, and here we are, magicless and still thriving(for the most part) At said elite magic school.

We are the literal contradiction to everything Ernesto is saying yet for some reason we stay quiet. And Grim does the talking instead. And we get two dialogue options all about just spurring HIM on?! That could have been the perfect moment to intervene and say “HEY! LOOK AT MAGICLESS OL ME GOING TO THE ELITE MAGIC SCHOOL. Even without magic I find ways around. So what does that say about you?”

It really shouldn’t be that hard.

Which brings me to question WHY. Why does Twisted Wonderland never let it’s player talk? We’ve seen other games do it. Why doesn’t this game let us?

In the game app summary when you look into downloading the game, the summary speaks in a first person perspective. “Will you be able to work with them and return from whence you came?” I don’t see any working together player interactions. “You will take History of Magic, Alchemy, and Flight Classes alongside the students of Night Raven College.” I am rarely seeing any “alongside character” interactions.

It feels like I’m watching a “chose your own story” show except the only times I get to choose something is when a character can’t decide between a ham sandwich or a chicken sandwich and you chose for them. Yet the outcome doesn’t change a single bit. Not even a single piece of dialogue. Or even if it did change, it was only one line.

I have seen people play interactive story games like Twisted Wonderland and I KNOW it’s possible to do so. They’re just not doing it.

Like Ovey Me, for example. At least the MC there feels more like the MC. They speak almost regularly, with more than two choices of dialogue. And what you chose affects your relationship with the characters. It changes their reactions. The plot. TWST and OM! are also the same genre: adventure. They even LOOK similar. Even how the player chooses dialogue is similar looking.

Why? Surely the story can’t suffer that much if you put in a couple more choices or pieces of dialogue from the character reactions to those decisions. It’s as if they’re being taxed for every letter in the dialogue the player says. Like back in the days with the newspapers.

I love Twisted Wonderland, but I just wish I could feel more immersed in it.

I this this on a a japanese song only playlist and a wave of hiperfixation. So heres the context: Yuno (Yuu) and Leona were newly married and lived on his family’s land. On the night after the Town Below festival, Yuno returned home to find not only her husband’s family dead but also her younger brother, Grimm. Leona was the only one still alive, but as she tried to lead him down the mountain, she discovered that he was no longer human.

Silver, a demon slayer, confronted Leona. However, after witnessing him protect Yuno, he chose to spare the newly turned demon’s life, and send the couple to his master, Lilia.

Vil and Rook are the Tamayo and Yuuchiro of this universe. Vil lived more than 300 years only on serving face and hate, nonetheless showed kindness by helping Yuno and Leona after their encounter with the Demon King.

Ace and deuce are both slayers, one ranking above yuu. The three met during a mission, and the two decided to stick by her side from that point on.

I’m actually LOVING how Rick Riordan, and the other writers of the show, took his initial concept of a Percabeth rivalry fueled by that of their parents and kind of turned it on its head?

Now, instead of Annabeth being wary of Percy because he’s a son of Poseidon, he’s wary of her because she made a callous impression on him. They get off to a rocky start even before finding out who Percy’s father is, and when they finally do, Annabeth doesn’t care. Instead of them fighting because of who their parents are, they’re fighting over their own opposed worldviews.

Then, instead of them arguing over which of the gods is cooler and who was right in the story of Medusa, they realize that, just like Medusa, Annabeth is a victim of her mother and that, unlike Medusa, she is a far kinder and stronger person, unwilling to repeat the cycle of hurt. They realize that, like his father, Percy often acts without considering potential consequences and that, unlike his father, he is a far kinder and stronger person, willing to step up for someone he wronged and whom he cares about.

Instead of Percy and Annabeth’s rivalry being focused on that of their parents, it’s focused on who they are, themselves. But the path to friendship is still the same: a realization that they have each other’s backs, no matter what, because they’re not their parents after all.
