We have all talked about how Jason gets pit rage because of the Lazarus waters being gross ecto, or how his obssession is the Joker and needing to kill him and a bunch of other things,

Let me give that a twist,

That Pit Rage Jason feels is hunger, specifically a ghosts hunger.

Jason came back from the dead not fully, he's a starving ghost with a malnourished proto-core, until he properly eats it will stay weak and hungry.

How does the Joker fit in all this?

Easy, With the lack of good ecto for Jason to feed and stabilize from the next best option is his murderer.

Consuming that who killed you is very nourishing for a new ghost.

So Jason getting angry with the bats and others when they tell him not to kill the Joker or actively prevent him from even getting near him is like putting all his favourite foods right in front of him and then taking it away from him,

Each time getting worse for Jason, only getting hungrier and hungrier each time it happens.

How would you feel if you were starving and people kept offering you food and then pulling it away before you could eat it?

Confused?

Desperate?

Anger?

It doesn't count as cannibalism if you're not the same

Ficlet: Down the Hole [Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuta/Maki]

The implication in Yuta's fight with Uro in Culling Games that one way he can Copy another sorcerer's technique is by having "Rika" eat a part of them is CRAZY. So here you go, a Yuta/Maki cannibalism fic completely unmoored from any timeline whatsoever. (Oblique manga spoilers through about chapter 200.)

Fic:

They duck under a tin awning for the span of a few breaths, Yuta collapsing into a crouch. He knows he cannot suppress his cursed energy for long enough to shake their hunter. There was a time when he thought that de-manifesting Rika would rid him of the rot that boiled around him, but he knows now that it leaks from inside him.

Maki, a hole in the world, presents Yuta with a stolen lump of flesh on the flat of her blade. Yuta stares at it. He has already exhausted Rika for the day. "Eat quickly," she says. "We don't have a lot of time." He licks his lips nervously.

Maki steps closer and lays her palm on his cheek, her thumb sweeping the bottom edge of his eye socket. It is the exact temperature of the air around them. "Do you want me to force you?" She mimes sealing her hand over his nose and mouth to cut off his air and make him swallow. Another one of her kindnesses.

Yuta’s throat jumps. "Sorry. I'm always making others have to do things for me, huh?” He scrubs at his face with the back of his hand. “It's okay. I can take it myself."

He puts his hand over Maki's, lacing their fingers together, and bends forward over her sword to scrape the flesh onto his tongue. He forces the repulsive, slippery lump down his throat bite by bite.

The cursed energy surges within his stomach immediately. He'd never really doubted it would. It had been convenient to pretend that the mouth of the curse he still called "Rika" and his own mouth did not lead to the same place, but every bite of another sorcerer had always become his, in the end.

Maki smiles at him. Yuta smiles back, wipes the fat and blood off his lips.

He unbends, steps into the sky, and raises his hand in the sign for Limitless.
