Are You, Are You, Coming To The Tree?
Summary: Grin and bear it. That was the mantra Harriet kept repeating in her head. Grin and bear it. Trigger warnings: Inhumane conditions, swearing, perceived discrimination, drinking, childhood trauma, etc. Merry Christmas @panthera-tigris-venenata .
------------------------------------------------------------
It would come as a surprise to absolutely no one that Harriet Hook hated Christmas.Â
Christmas on the isle was cold and dreary and it usually snowed horribly or hailedâmaking it harder to find edible food and durable shelter for those of the isle who had nowhere else to go but the horrid great outdoors.Â
Many didnât survive the long winters.Â
And while the isle mourned and fought amongst themselves, Auradon showed cheerful movies about reindeer, talking snowmen, and Santa Clausâmovies that were chalked full of things the isle kids would never have like unspoiled eggnog, freshly baked christmas cookies, gingerbeard men, and presents in good condition handed out by smiling parents who loved their children and had the means to give them such things.Â
Harriet hated the holiday.Â
And she didnât believe in Santa.Â
At least, not the version presented in the cartoons and movies they would show.Â
In her mind, it was all bullshit.
The real Santa Claus wasnât a kind man who rewarded truly good children. No, the real Santa Claus was a holier than thou bastard who only rewarded children who were perceived as goodânot accounting for the abused or neglected children who would never be considered good by those around them or for the children who had no choice but to be bad by societyâs standards to survive.Â
He didnât care about any abused children in Auradon, if there were any left and he certainly didnât care for people like Harriet.Â
The real Santa Claus hated Isle kids and that was apparent.Â
Harriet was almost eleven by the time the Isleâs Santa started distributing presents to every living kid on the isle and fixing up the graves of the dead kids after all. Old enough to know that The Isle Santa wasnât the real deal.Â
Sheâd had several Christmases of disappointment by then.
Several Christmases of the adults in her life barely being able to scrape by and find enough food to keep her and her siblings alive. Christmases that usually ended up with them all getting drunk till they passed out when they thought she and her siblings couldnât hear.Â
Her and Harry and CJ had all gotten presents, sure, but it wasnât anything magical like what was shown on TVâno, it was just stuff they needed and if they were lucky, a toy that wasnât too far damaged when it was donated to the barrage.Â
Her dad was always drunk in the days after. Ashamed, angry, and bitter about the fact he couldnât do more for them.Â
By the time the fake Santa started leaving gifts, Harriet was able to tell that the gifts werenât from a workshop in the North Pole but handmade by someone inexperienced or fished from the barrage and the ocean.Â
All it only made the pirate captain hate the holiday more.
Why wouldnât it?Â
Harriet only had bitter memories of the holiday.Â
Memories where she knew Santa and Auradon hated her.Â
Harriet hated Christmas.Â
But if there was one thing that could make Harriet celebrate it?
It was her crew.Â
------------------------------------------------------------
âIâm sorry. Did I just hear that right?â Sammy asked, staring at herâand for some reason, he looked a bit nervous.Â
âI need your help to make Christmas special for the rest of the crew, the twins, and Owenaâthe kid Umaâs crew took in.â Harriet gritted out. Eye twitching slightly.Â
She didnât like having to repeat herself.Â
Especially not when it came to this situation.Â
âWhy me?â
âBecause youâre the only one who can keep a secret.â
Sammy snorted and muttered something that sounded suspiciously like âthatâs what you thinkâ but Harriet didnât question it because she was nowhere near drunk enough for that conversation.Â
âNow. Do you have any ideas or not?â
------------------------------------------------------------
âHow the hell are we supposed to hide a whole ass tree from the entire crew?â Harriet asked, taking in the tree Sammy had apparently chopped down with her eyes.Â
It wasnât a pine tree.Â
Not like the ones on tv anyway.Â
Nothing on the Isle was anything like it was on Auradon TV.Â
The tree was long, skinny, and battered with sparse, discolored leaves that were just barely hanging on and looked like it had been dying long before Sammy or her was bornâwhich, since it had been growing on the isle, it probably had been. But still, it would be heavy and if it was just going to be the two of them carrying it then it would be hard to sneak it onto the ship without anyone noticing.Â
âBy carrying it in when everyone is out.â Sammy said blankly, as if it was obviousâshaking a can of green spray paint before he started spraying the tree. âNow. Keep an eye out so we don't get jumped.â
Harriet bristled slightly. âHow, exactly? Someone's always on the ship. Nikita, Raymonda, Naâvi, Nova, Henry, and Anais live on the ship, and it's a coin toss on whether your brothers or any of the crewâs siblings and cousins will be on the ship or not. Not to mention our actual crew and don't even get me started on the younginâs in Harry's crew.â
It felt like the ship was never empty these days.Â
âWhich is why I called in a favor Homicide, Kai, Ula, and Uziel owe me and got them to agree to distract everyone for a couple of hours starting at exactly 6:00 OâClock.â
Harriet raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms. âAnd why exactly do three of my cousins owe you a favor?â
Sammy let out a long suffering sigh before giving her an unimpressed look. âDo you really want to know or do you want results? I can only give either or. Not both.â
âJust shut up and paint the damn tree.âÂ
------------------------------------------------------------
Grin and bear it.
Grin and bear it.
Grin and bear it.
That's what Harriet had to do.Â
Grin and bear it.
Grin and bear it.
Grin and bear it.
GRIN AND BEAR IT.Â
âIt was for the kids and for the crew,â Harriet reminded herself, grunting as she backed up the gangplank with the top half of the tree gripped firmly in her hands. Trying her hardest to keep a decent grip on it knowing that it was likely to break into pieces if the damned thing was droppedâit would be the luck of an isle kid, after all.Â
It was for the kids and the crew, and Harriet was not going to quit until the stupid tree was hidden somewhere in the ship and decorated so nicely that all of her friends would weep in delight from the sight. Achy back and creaky neck be damned.
------------------------------------------------------------
The tears the crew of the Queen's Fury and the children would be crying would not be tears of joy.Â
Of that, Harriet was sure, as she looked at the newly decorated Christmas tree with a barely disguised grimace.Â
Sammy had managed to dig up three Christmas bubbles (two of which were broken) and some flickering fairy lights in the barrage but that hadn't been enough to fill the tree.Â
So they'd had to take someâŠ. creativeâŠliberties. Like tapping a couple of lanterns to a couple of the branches and breaking into Madam Medusa, Eq, & Cruellaâs jewelry boxes for the best earrings the isle had to offer to hook onto the tree next to shiny bottle cups, broken glass bottles, and fish bones.Â
They'd thrown one of Harriet's old hats on the top as a tree topper and used a moldy bite ridden rope as garland.Â
It looked more like a crime scene than a Christmas Tree and joy was the farthest thing from what the pirate captain felt when she looked at it.Â
And Harriet could just tell by the look on Sammy's face that he hated how it looked too, no matter how much he tried to claim otherwise.Â
Christmas was going to be a disaster.
------------------------------------------------------------
âWhat are you lot doing here?â Harriet asked with an exhausted stare, too tired to speak above her âinsideâ voice.Â
Homicide (Morgie's eldest son) shrugged, a big red sack draped over his shoulder.
Behind him were Kai (Morgana of the seaâs daughter) and Ula & Uziel (the son and daughter of Uliana), all three with big red sacks of their own as they walked up the gangplank.
âWe owed Sammy a few favors.â
The raven haired girl just let out a long suffering sigh, deciding that she just didn't want to know why that was at this point. Harriet wasn't scared to ask, per say (lie), but she figured that this whole thing was likely something she would need deniability on.Â
Even if she'd end up stuck dealing with the fall out regardless.
âThat doesn't really answer the question but come aboard, I guess.â
------------------------------------------------------------
Presents and enough food that they could have a feast.Â
That's what Harrietâs cousins had brought on Sammy's behalf.
âYou crazy son of a bitch, what do you have on them?â Harrietâs eyes didn't stray from the pile of presents tha nearly filled the storage room they'd hidden the tree and food in.Â
Christmas was in the morning.Â
Sammy definitely had to be blackmailing them.Â
The blonde didn't even deny it, not looking away from the (mostly canned) food he was looking over. âYou don't want to know.â
âSometimes, Sammy, you scare me.â
âNot enough to keep you sober, apparently.â
Harriet snorted. âNo one scares me enough to keep me sober.â
------------------------------------------------------------
The next day the pirates of the Queenâs Fury and the Lost Revenge came together and feasted on badly made Christmas cookies, crepes, slightly used candy, rum, slightly out of date eggnog, and much more.
They danced, they sang sea shanties, they told stories, and they laughed when the roughhousing broke out.Â
Nobody had cared what the tree looked like and Diego had even laughed when he recognized some of the earrings on the tree as his auntâs.Â
It was a good night.
Harriet would even call it a merry one.Â
It was the best (and even only, for some of them) Christmas any of them had ever had.Â

Just looked up Edwards and idk, his face looks too KIND for any of those evil Ma men??? But you're right that he does resemble Sam Reid in the jaw so could be our Marquis. Whoever gets cast as Magnus should get tons of makeup to look completely horrifying and unrecognisable.
I don't know why but I think they'll cast an actor in their early 40s for Marius. Looking older but not that much older than AMC Armand (27).
(x)
I actually think that him having a kinder face could potentially work with the Marquis / Lestat's father?
Sam actually talked about it a bit in his interview with Autumn, but they do have a little narrative conundrum to address in that they've aged Lestat up. He's only 21 when he's turned in the books, whereas they've made him 34 in the series and there is the question of where they put those years. As Sam says, there's kind of two options, first is that they have him in Paris for longer, or second is that they have him stuck in the Auvergne with his family for longer, and he thinks the second option makes more sense, and I totally agree.
Lestat is so subjugated and abused by his father and his brothers, but the reason they keep bringing him back every time he tries to leave is because he's the only one who's any good at hunting, and as a result the only one who can keep them afloat. They're aristocrats in title, but they're totally broke and his father as he ages goes completely blind which makes him, in this era, extremely dependent on his children. I think it makes a lot of sense to draw that period out into Lestat's adulthood and to really explore the complexity of the relationship between abuse, responsibility, servitude and perceived shifts in power versus the actual feelings of that. Especially given the context it can offer potentially for Lestat's role in Rue Royale.
It's important too that Lestat hasn't really had a chance to figure out who he is or live for himself yet, because that's not just a vital part of the tragedy of his turning, but also the key catalyst that has Lestat going to the US specifically to create a family for himself. So yeah, I don't know! I think casting someone as the Marquis who has a kind face isn't necessarily a bad thing, because I think it could play really well into the Marquis becoming dependent on Lestat (and Lestat still searching for any sort of acknowledgement from him) as he grows up.
But yes, haha, the description of Magnus in the book is basically body horror between his face being like a white mask set in a jester's grin and his black eyes and only having the two fang teeth, and I'm curious to see how literally they approach that? I wonder if there's a chance they could make him border on a revenant given he stole the dark gift and wasn't actually willingly turned by anyone. It could be an interesting way to explore how different types of turnings create different types of vampires, which is a factor in the books, and obviously something the show's already introduced given 2.01.
I could see them casting someone in their early 40s for Marius, for sure, especially given that's how old he is in the books. I do kiiind of personally see them going a little older though, just because I think they'll want him to look visibly older than both Armand and Lestat. They might get around that though with casting an actor who just has that sort of authoritative presence, or as I've mentioned before, just casting someone tall. Lee Pace has been a fan cast I've been intrigued by and he'd definitely fit the bill with the latter, haha.
#i have two friends who are supporting friends / partners at the moment#who are having to help abusive parents in end of life care#and it's pretty harrowing tbh#one of my friend's partners hasn't seen his father in 15 years since he went no contact with him#and has been called in by an aunt to help because there's literally no one else to do it#and his brothers are all living overseas so it really is just him locally#it's been a deeply unpleasant experience for him and one i've been thinking about a lot lately#it's such a Thing to get to this age and really start to know the people around you better as they go through these things#anyway that's neither here nor there for this ask exactly sorry this was a bit of a tangent!#but yeah it's interesting to think where they might go with the three ma-guys this season#cw: abuse#iwtv asks#magnus casting#marius casting#marquis casting#welcome to my ama

Looking at your favourite extremely specific trope and knowing it doesn't come from just general enjoyment and instead comes from a combination of all of the following; your neurodivergence, your experience in school growing up, your trauma, your parents trauma, the state your parents lives were in when you were a baby, the small number of friends you had growing up, the amount of support you were actually given growing up, where you rank in the sibling birth order, how many siblings you had to help raise-
#ours is 'teenager ends up with a baby and the parents CANT know so theyre in this alone'#:l#anyways oldest 'daughter' born from teenage parents who had just escaped from the mother's abusive father#who was yes cared for but also treated badly because their parents had no idea how to take care of a baby#and said parents split only four years later when one threatened suicide if the other left them#so said 'daughter' was the one they messed up with the most#who helped raise three younger siblings while being neglected at school#because no one cared to look into why we werent responding well in a classroom setting#and only having two friends tops (if any) and those friends being very temporary#and thats just keeping our story simple#as you can see pinning down a single cause for why our favourite trope has been our favourite for nearly 12 years now isnt possible#that trope will probably always stay with us#for the exact same reason as the fact that we wouldnt be the same person/people if any part of our life was different#but if we were to try and put it all into a single sentence it would be something along the lines of 'can it be done right?'

*â§ïœ„ïŸ: *â§ïœ„ïŸ "in the dead of night"ïŸâ§*: ïŸâ§*
pairing: Jacaerys Velaryon x fem!Reader
words: 7000
summary: when Jace is attending a late council meeting, two hired assassins take their chance to sneak into your chambers and hold you captive. Taken to the dragon caves below and meant to be slain by your own betrothedâs dragon, you have to trust the bond between Vermax and you is strong enough to escape your captorâs murderous plans.
warnings: soft!reader, fluffy start but HEAVY angst (reader being held captive by two assassins similar to Blood and Cheese), physical violence (slapping, hair pulling), verbal abuse, threats of rape and violence, Vermax being Vermax and also protective of reader, hurt/comfort, shock and crying, Jacaerys being a caring betrothed, Rhaenyra being the best mother in law, aftermath of trauma, healing, hopeful ending
a/n: please mind the warnings for this story, itâs my angstiest so far! Big thanks to @princessvelaryon and @princesschimchim1325 for being awesome and inspiring me to write this!
Ëââ§ê°á â à»ê± â§âË
You smiled to yourself as you held two small wooden figures in your hands, a princess and a prince, their hands linked together and small attires made of cotton and wool. When you were younger, you remembered playing with them for hours, creating little scenarios of the prince who might sweep you off your feet someday.
Now, many years later, you had found the love of your life in Prince Jacaerys.
Ever since your own parents had died too young, Jaceâs family had welcomed you as if you were one of them by blood, making you a home at Dragonstone and accepting you with open arms as theirs. Perhaps, a huge part of it was because Rhaenyraâs oldest son had been in love with you ever since he had first laid eyes on you, but there was more to it. His mother adored you and you got alone with his siblings and cousins and brought a joy into their house that was much needed in those dark times of war.
This afternoon, you were sitting on the soft fur carpet in one of the big living rooms of the castle, Rhaenyraâs twins peacefully playing with their wooden toys all around you. Earlier, Baela and Rhaena had joined you for a chat and the newest gossip, but you didnât mind being alone with the kids as well, your own inner child always coming down around their soft souls.
You let out a playful gasp as little Viserys assembled a row of knights on their horses along the imaginary street you had built together. âAre your noble knights going to a tournament, Vis?â
The boy nodded timidly at you, letting one of the horses gallop forward and making you laugh.
Your betrothed Jacaerys leaned against the doorframe and smiled softly as he watched you. Little Aegon had snuggled close to you and you helped Viserys move the toy carriage around the carpet.
You looked up as he pushed himself off the frame, walking towards you with pure adoration in his eyes. âOh hello. I didnât hear you enter.â You said, letting your hand be lifted by him so he could press a soft kiss against your knuckles.
Moving to stand and placing Aegon on the ground, he laid a hand on your shoulder, shaking his head. âI didnât want to interrupt your play. What adventures is my princess going on today? Have my brothers been behaving?â
âThey are the sweetest.â You told him in all honesty, your heart melting at the two little blond boys in front of you. Whenever you spent time with Jaceâs smaller siblings, you could not help but notice how your heart expanded and spoke to a deep part in you that wished for children of your own someday. âWe were playing a carriage ride to a tournament, I believe, but then a dragon escaped and now we have to look for him.â
Jace squatted down for a moment and handed Aegon a rattle shaped like the bell of a sept, which he immediately took with a toothless grin and tried out. You watched your betrothed with a soft heart and thought what a wonderful father heâd makeâŠ
âI dream of the day this will be our life someday.â He confessed to you, the corner of his plump lips lifting sadly. âWhen there is peace in the realm and we have time to take care of our future children together.â
âI wish for nothing else.â You replied softly, your heart blooming with love for him.
For a moment, Jacaerys looked as if he wanted to sit down and join you and his little brothers, but as you knew your hard-working betrothed all too well, he sighed and stood up again, careful not to step on the big skirts draped around you like a blooming flower.
âThere will be a late council meeting this evening.â Jacaerys announced to you, his displeased expression betraying him. âEveryone of the council and the dragon keepers will sit together to discuss. I wouldnât ask you to join us, it will be very boring and entirely unnecessary.â
You chuckled, knowing all too well how different Jace would do many things if his say in the matters of his mother would be of more weight. But at the same time, you were glad, Rhaenyra kept him sheltered and protected with you for now, at Dragonstone where it was the safest place for the future king and his queen.
âWill you come to bed later?â You asked shyly, although it was not uncommon for the prince and you to share a bed before your marriage had even been consummated.
A small and narrow passage connected your room to Jacaerysâ and you had often made use of it, whether you wanted someone to talk to before heading to bed or were in need of his warm embrace before you eventually drifted off into an innocent sleep together. When he was gone or bound to duties, you usually made yourself comfortable in his bed, but perhaps youâd return to your own tonight if the meeting was going to take a while before heâd be released.
Jacaerys smiled softly at you and nodded before he raised your hand towards his lips. âI will. Donât stay up too late, Iâll be with you as soon as I can, I promise.â
You hummed pleased and let him kiss your knuckles. âI hope it wonât be too long. And donât take their words to heart too much, Jace. Youâre the prince and theyâre lucky to have you.â
âIt is me who is lucky to have you, my beloved.â He said and watched in delight as you blushed at his appreciation. âMy safe haven, my light.â
Jacaerys leaned down, softly cupping your cheek before he gently kissed your lips, your back arching a little to reach him better. Your lips brushed tenderly against one another and you sighed in bliss at his open affections for you.
You smiled at him when you separated, squeezing his hand in yours. âI love you. Iâll see you later.â
âI love you.Iâll do my best to hurry.â He promised, hugging his little toddler brothers as well and softly stroking their hair before he departed. You sighed to yourself, eager to have the hours pass and let the two of you be reunited again as little Aegon presented you a wood dragon, silently asking you to rejoin their play..
âAlright, where were we, my princes?â
Ë àŒ àłâïœĄË
Being alone in your private chambers had become a rarity since you had been promised to Jacaerys.
You listened to the quietness of the room, the fire cackling in the pit as you sat on your bed and combed out your hair. You had taken a bath after bringing the princes to their nurseries and changed into something comfortable for the night.
The small evidence of Jaceâs frequent visits to your room were visible all over the place. A cloak of his was thrown over one of your chairs by the fire and one of his books laid open by your desk. Even his smell still faintly clung to your pillows, a little gift from the last time he had fallen asleep here, not bothering to retreat back to his own chamber under your soft and lingering touches to his hair.
You could not even remember the last time the connecting door between your rooms had been closed.
You let out a small sigh as you sunk into bed, watching the dark outside of your window for a while. The council meeting mustâve been going on for a while now and you tried to read a few pages to keep you awake, not wanting to miss the moment Jace would come to you.
The time went by and your eyelids kept dropping.
But after a while, the door to your chamber opened and a wide smile split your face as you sat up in your bed, ready to welcome Jace back. Your hair fell over your shoulders, the blanket slipping down your body a little, but just a second later, everything in you froze to a stop.
Two men entered your room, their clothes dirty and faces dark as they took you in. These werenât your guards and as one of them unsheathed a blade from his belt, you opened your mouth to scream.
They were on you in a heartbeat.
One of them drew the blankets off the bed while the other grabbed your hair, dragging you from the mattress and onto the floor, every sound in your throat seizing up and choked off by their sudden display of violence.
You were not a fighter, never had been. You stood no chance as they manhandled you in their middle, the taller one quickly looking over his shoulder as you struggled to no use against their tight grip.
âLook at that.â You heard close to your ear, the deep raspy voice sending shivers down your spine. âThe bastard princeâs little bird, right between us. What would your man say now if he could see you like this, huh?â
You whimpered when your head was tugged back, the other gripping your wrists and making quick work of a tight rope around them, scratching over your soft skin and successfully binding you.
âWho are you?â You demanded to know, your voice barely louder than a whisper. You were shaking from head to toe, your body and mind gone into overdrive when they had first laid hands on you.
They shared a grin with each other. âDoes it matter? All you have to know is weâre not your fucking maids. And that you will die tonight, princess. Now be a good girl and shut the fuck up.â
You tried to press your heels into the floor, to keep them from stirring you towards the door, but after a moment the tall one simply picked you up and carried you towards the door. Your nails scratched over the manâs back, but it was like he didnât even feel it, his grip around your legs too tight for you to struggle and free yourself.
âBehave.â
You were set on your feet again, crowded by them against the door. You swallowed hard against the lump in your throat, your eyes flickering between the two of them. âWhoever paid you, their reward is not nearly enough for the misery my family will bring down on you when they find you. I am a princess of Dragonstone and you have no right to-â
They pushed you out of the door, not bothering to listen.
A horrified gasp escaped your lips as you stepped outside your chamber and nearly stumbled over the dead bodies of your two guards, bleeding out and cold on the floor. The sound echoed through the hall and before you knew what was happening, your head was pulled back by your hair and a hard hand slapped you across the face.
Pain exploded in your mind, blinding you for a moment before the sting ebbed away and was replaced with a dull throb in your cheek.
You held the palm of your trembling hand to your throbbing cheek, breathing hard as you recovered from the blow. âYou will die for this.â You said oddly calm and collected. It had to be the shock, you could not think clearly, but you knew one thing for sure: âThe prince will cut your hands off for laying hand on me.â
The tall one grinned as if it was an empty threat. âWe will be long gone once your prince finds you, stupid cunt. And in what state that will be, I still have to decide.â His disgusting hungry gaze crept over your body, barely hidden underneath your thin sleeping gown. You wanted to throw up.
âYou will lead us to the place where the dragons are.â The shorter one said. âWe know the keepers are all at the meeting and you know ways where no guards keep patrol. And if you dare to scream or run to wake anyone, Iâll cut out your tongue and heart and throw it in front of the bastard princeâs feet.â
You swallowed down bitter tears, your head screaming at you to do something, anything. But your hands were painfully tied and you did not find your voice as you slowly began to walk with them through the castle.
In the past, you have had nightmares like this, terrible visions of you being powerless as hands held you down in the dark, doing horrible things to you. You sometimes had woken up screaming, but Jacaerys had been there for you every time, holding you until the worst of it was over and you slowly were able to calm down in his safe and warm embrace. Now, there was no one, all people living and working at Dragonstone either asleep or summoned by Rhaenyra and Jacaerys for the council meeting. By the time someone had discovered the corpses of your guards in front of your chambers, youâd likely be dead or taken to who knew where.
You walked through your home, shivering against the cool air with only the thin nightdress you wore on you, the dangerous presence of your captors behind your back. You knew Jacaerys would blame himself for leaving you alone and suddenly, a sorrow so consuming filled your chest, you choked on a quiet whimper. You had not even said goodbyeâŠ
âShut the fuck up.â They hissed at you and one of them slung his arm around your waist, your fingers digging into his flesh in protest as cool metal suddenly rested against your ribcage. A dagger. âBe fucking quiet and keep walking.â
Soon, the air began to smell of salt and sea and you heard the distant crashing of the waves against the island. The entrance to the dragon caves came into sight and you turned around to face them.
âNow tell us, girl, where is your precious dragon?â
Your heart sank into the pit of your stomach, but before you could open your mouth for a reply, the other one of them shook his head. âNo. Donât be stupid. The beast will kill us right away if it sees their rider in our clutches. ButâŠthe bastardâs dragon. Itâs a foul ill-tempered beast, isnât it? Where is it?â
Vermax.
A protective wave washed through you and for a moment, you regained the little confidence you had before the man had laid his hand on you. âWhat do you want with the dragon? You are in no state to have a chance at killing him.â
They shared a look, both grinning viciously. One of them stepped up to you and touched your chin with his dirty hand, right where a fresh bruise from his violence bloomed. You tried to flinch away, but he held you close.
âWe donât mean to kill it, flower.â He told you, bloodthirst flickering over his features and making you sick. His knuckles brushed over the cut on your lip and you wanted to gag from disgust. âWeâre going to watch as it kills you.â
Your mind was swimming as you led them through the darkness, watching their big shadows looming over your small own. The taller one still held his dagger against your waist and you knew heâd make use of it if he noticed you playing any games. There were wild beasts slumbering in the depths of these caves, but would they be faster at attacking your captors than the knife against your skin?
The hope in your chest thinned the further away you walked with them from where you knew your own dragon slept, but one last shimmer of it remained in you. You knew Vermax and he knew you just as Jacaerys did. You had to hold on to that.
âItâs here.â You announced quietly, your whisper echoing across the cave near the ocean. It was quiet here and you had to squint your eyes to make out the big nest at the end of the cave where a green-scaled dragon slept fitfully.
âCall it.â The smaller one muttered, his eyes fixed on the beast. You winced as the tip of the dagger pressed into your skin, a warning. âWe will stand behind you and when it has come out, you will command it to kill you, you hear me? No tricks or Iâll gladly be the one to end your suffering, right after my friend here has had his fun with you, princess.â
You took a deep breath as they retreated into a safe distance.
âNaejot MÄzÄ«s, Vermax.â You commanded shakingly and the sound of your familiar voice, the big pile of green and red in the corner of the cage moved, uncurling himself from his light slumber.
Jacaerysâ dragon blinked at you sleepily, a shudder going through his beautiful scales as he tilted his head to the side questioningly. When he spotted the two men in your company, he tensed, stepping forward and showing himself in his full height.
âLykirÄ«âŠâ You lifted your hands, trying to catch Vermaxâ eyes again so heâd look at you instead of them.
With a low growl in his throat, he settled, stepping closer to you until his snout almost touched your outstretched hand.
âSay it, girl!â You heard the commanding voice behind you, in a safe distance of the beast that slowly blinked at you, considering. âWeâre not going to wait much longer!â
You took a deep breath and looked Vermax in the snake-like eyes.
He met you with a calm stare, tilting his head to the side again, a deep rumble in his chest.
You had to trust in him now. You had to trust in the love Jacaerys and you were sharing and the bond between you and the dragons.
Out of the sudden, a heavy thrown stone hit you in the back and you gasped in pain, stumbling forward and almost slipping in a dirty puddle.
âDO IT!â
Trust in Vermax, just as you trust in your Jace.
âDracarys.â You whispered finally and closed your eyes.
Vermax surged forward with a furious roar, one sharp claw in the ground, his wing shielding you from the scenery. Nearly pushing you out of the way, he advanced on the men who had threatened you with a snarl and warmth filled the large cave, fire burning low in his green-scaled stomach.
A horrible realization flickered over their faces as the green beast drew closer, their backs hitting the wall behind them as they looked at you one last time. âYou fucking cunt-â
Vermax wiped out their miserable existence with one single breath of fire. Heat tore through the cave and you stumbled backwards as the dragon fire burned them and the scent of roasted human flesh reached your nose.
You squeezed your eyes shut and buried your face in your hands as you listened to their screams. Their agony bounced off the stone walls and heat crept down your spine, but Vermax kept you close, the leathery feel of his wing a small comfort against your skin.
Suddenly, silence rang in your ears.
You dared to peek up over the protective curl of Vermaxâ wings.
Where your captors had stood, only ashes and bones remained.
Vermax let out a self-satisfied growl, clearly pleased with what he had unleashed on the terrors. He bent down, blinking at you with his sharp eyes as if to make sure you were alright. Tears, both from the shock and gratitude, filled your eyes and you leaned your forehead against his snout, trying to take deep breaths to steady yourself.
You shrunk back as you heard footsteps in the caves, hurried steps running over gravel and through the water puddles, a flame throwing a long shadow over the walls. You felt Vermax tense, his wing drawing itself tighter around you. Any other threat advancing, heâd burn to the ground.
In the next moment, Jacaerys stormed into the chamber, his sword drawn as his other hand held a lit torch. His chest was heaving, sweat gathering at his hairline as he quickly took in the state of the room. He looked like he had run the length of the castle and you knew it likely had been the case.
Vermax snarled without threat, greeting his rider and lifting his wing to present you to your love.
Your eyes met and you let out a shuddering breath.
The sight of you was a thousand daggers to his heart.
Your face was smeared with soot and the blood from your split lip coated your chin, your hair unruly and disheveled from the way they had grabbed and dragged you along. Your silk dress was dirty and you shivered against the cold of the cave as you slung your bruised arms around yourself.
Behind you, Vermax hovered like a protective shadow and waited, willing to serve with Jacaerys now here with you.
As he took a step towards you, his boot made contact with the skulls of the assassins. Two of them, he realized and the rage surging through his veins was all-consuming. He looked down at their bones and wished to go back in time to kill them himself, over and over again until not even these mortal remains stayed behind.
But his own bloodlust vanished as he raced towards you, your own legs unsteady and finally giving out under you just as he reached you.
He fell to the ground with you in his arms, holding you tightly as you clawed your hand in his clothes, his heart breaking for you right underneath your tight grip. It was like any last strength in you had left, leaving you a broken and sobbing mess in his embrace.
âYouâre safe, youâre safeâŠâ Jace murmured into your ear, softly swaying you back and forth as you wept, the adrenaline and shock from the situation finally crashing down on you with full force. âNothing is going to happen to you, Iâm hereâŠâ
The Queen and the dragon keepers found the prince and his princess just like this.
Jacaerys was kneeling on the ground, the princess dissolved in tears in his arms and the ill-tempered beast that had saved his love curled around them, chortling comfortingly as the prince stroked her hair and whispered sweet nothings in her ear.
Ë àŒ àłâïœĄË
You had been escorted back to the castle, but you couldnât say you remembered much from the journey. Your mind had gone into an odd state of survival, the girl from before the attack having retreated into a far corner of your mind.
The guards, now dead because of you, had been carried away in front of your door and you had stopped in the middle of the hallway, not able to go another step as you stared at the spot where maids were now scrubbing the blood from the floor.
âCome on, my dear.â Rhaenyra had gently told you and you tore your eyes away from the scene as your Queen and Jacaerys led you into his chambers instead. The warmth and unique scent of Jaceâs quarters â the smell of old parchment and books, mingled with the wax of the candles and the smell of his sheets â enveloped you and you drew the cloak Jace had draped over your shivering form tightly around you.
Now, a little later, you were seated at Jaceâs work table and blankly stared at your scraped hands in your lap.
Jacaerys had instantly expressed his dislike for an interrogation at this hour of the night, but you had shaken your head, willing to recount the situation to Rhaenyra as if words could wash away the poison they had brought onto you. Your skin felt coated with it and you feared the stain might never go away again.
Yet, you had told her and Jace what happened, slowly and quietly, and when you were done, Rhaenyra was holding your hand and Jacaerys looked as if he wanted to break something.
âMy brave girl.â Rhaenyra murmured and softly cupped your cheek as she looked at the bruises on your face and neck. âYouâve fought enough for tonight, darling. Iâll call the maids and healers and-â
âNo.â You cut her off, shivering at the prospect of unfamiliar hands on you, seeing the evidence of what had happened on your naked skin. You swallowed hard, your eyes filling with unshed tears again. âNo one else. Itâs- itâs alright, I can do it myself, I really can-â
Rhaenyra smiled sadly at you. âYou are hurt, my dear.â
âIâm not broken.â You insisted, although you felt like it. You were shattered pieces on the ground.
âAnd no one says so, dear.â
Jacaerys, sensing you were on the verge of breaking down, knelt down next to your chair and caught your gaze with his. âI can help, if you want.â He offered quietly.
You looked back at him, conflicted. If Jace stayed, thereâd come the point where heâd see the damage you had taken and you did not know what troubled you more; him seeing you like this or seeing him as his heart shattered for you.
âJace.â Rhaenyra looked at him. âPerhaps a womanâs presence at this time is better suited for her. Iâll fetch you later, I promise, but she needs a moment for herself now, alright?â
He was tense, your beloved prince, but after a moment he nodded with a set jaw before he stood and looked at you one more time. âIâll wait outside.â
You didnât want to meet his sad expression, so you kept your gaze down as mother and son went to the door, talking in quick and hushed voices before Jace stepped outside and Rhaenyra returned to you.
She leaned down and brushed a little bit of soot from your cheeks, careful not to touch your split lip. âVermax surely knows how to rain down fire on our enemies, hm?â
A weak smile tugged at the corner of your lips. âHe saved me. He knew exactly what was going on the moment I entered and he was intelligent enough to play along until the right moment had come.â
Rhaenyra hummed, offering you a hand to stand up. âAnd still, they only call my sonâs dragon ill-tempered. How does a bath sound? Iâm sure youâd like to step into more comfortable clothes, wouldnât you?â
You nodded, longing for a simple cotton shirt, preferably one of Jaceâs that smelled like home and warmth and safety.
Your future mother-in-law went to the big bath next to Jaceâs bedroom with you, a steaming bath already having been drawn for you.
When you saw her drawing a stool close to the tub, your eyes widened and you were quick to interject: âI-I can do it myself, Your Grace, there is no need for you to-â
âPlease let me help you just as I would help any other child of mine.â She interrupted you kindly and soon after, you gratefully sunk into the bath, your sore muscles relaxing in its warmth.
Rhaenyra helped you tilt your head back and you closed your eyes as warm water flowed over your hair and down your neck, tears of your own silently running down your damp cheeks. Your throat bobbed painfully as you let her work, the Queenâs gentle hands a motherâs comfort as they helped to get rid of the dirt from the caves and a root clinging to your skin.
âI have sent Jace to fetch an ointment for your bruises and cuts.â She told you quietly and you nodded silently, cupping some of your water to rinse off your face, careful not to touch your throbbing lip. âI want you to tell me if I should send him away for the night. You can be honest with me, dear.â
You sniffled, gladly accepting the towel she lent you after helping you out of the bathtub. After a moment, you rasped: âIt is not him I am scared of. Itâs justâŠI know it pains him to see me hurt.â
âHe hurts because he hasnât been there for you, my dear.â Rhaenyra explained softly and you sighed to yourself as you slipped into a silken robe, the fabric easy on the big bruise on your back and arms. Underneath, you already wore one of Jaceâs long shirts, the fabric more of a dress on you. âIf it is one thing I have learned, as someone who loves and is lucky enough to be loved, itâs that healing means accepting the help of others. No one will fault you if you want to be for yourself tonight, but I know Jace will do anything he can to help you recover from this, no matter what that might look like.â
You did not want to be alone.
You feared it, laying down in bed once again when the door could open at any moment and reveal the terrors, although Jacaerys had doubled the amount of guards outside his door, simply so youâd feel safe.
You wanted to feel sheltered and able to move past this with the one you loved more than anything else, the one who had first thought about when your life had been in grave danger.
You needed Jacaerys.
âJace may come in again.â You said quietly, suppressing the urge to groan with every step. You had not seen it yet, but the pain the stone thrown to your back caused felt like a flare and you were sure the spot was already turning a deep shade of purple.
Rhaenyra led you towards Jaceâs bed, seemingly pleased with your decision. âIâll make my leave then. Sleep in tomorrow, the both of you. You need all the rest you can get.â
âThank you, Your Grace.â You squeezed her hand in yours, bowing your head in gratitude. âAnd thank you for helping me.â
She smiled at you one last time, although there was a strain to it, her worry over a sneak attack like this consuming her mind. Tomorrow theyâd speak about this in council, but tonight sheâd let her son do the rest, his wide eyes meeting hers when she opened the door and let him in.
You turned around to look at him, your damp hair falling over your shoulder and his clothes, a princess despite the cuts and bruises on your skin. Jacaerys slowly walked to you and your heart stung when you noticed his blood-shot eyes and how pale he still was. He was tense all over, yet he softened as he came to a stop in front of you.
âWhere does it hurt?â He asked quietly, looking for your honesty and not a false promise towards him.
You let out a shaky breath and leaned into him.
For a moment, you simply stood in front of each other, forehead against forehead and breathing each other in. Hot tears welled up in your shut eyes, his closeness rescuing and suffocating you at once. Jaceâs nose touched yours and his soft curls tickled your cheeks and for a second, you thought that everything might be alright again when the morning came.
âMy back. My cheek and wristsâŠâ You whispered, your breath tickling his lips. âI know Iâve bathed and changed and Iâm safe in your rooms, butâŠit feels like theyâve put me apart and Iâve been assembled back together wrongly.â
He shook his head, swallowing against his own lump in his throat. âYou could never be wrong, my love.â
Your bottom lip wobbled dangerously, only doubling the pain in the cut grazing it. âIâve been so scared, Jace. When they entered my room- Anything couldâve happened, they couldâve done anything to me-â
You gasped both in relief and sorrow as his arms pulled you against him, the hug both grounding and warm, something you thought youâd lost forever mere hours ago. You were too exhausted to cry once more, but the horror over what else couldâve been done to you shook you to your very core.
âIâm never going to let something like this happen again.â Jace promised you darkly as he tightened his arms around you, soothingly brushing his hand through your hair as you rested the unwounded side of your face against his heart. âYou will never have to be afraid again, I promise. I shouldâve been there, I shouldâve stopped them-â
âYou didnât know they were here.â You reminded him, but you could feel the fury radiating off his body, an all-consuming rage deeply rooted in him. âNo one did. No one is to blame except for the ones who sent them, Jace.â
âAnd they will pay.â You could practically feel the daggers he was glaring at the wall behind you. But just after a moment, you felt his anger deflate as he softly kissed the top of your head and gently lifted your chin so he could look at you. âYouâve been fighting all alone tonight, but I am here now and I want to be of use, beloved. Will you let me help?â
âI donât want to upset you.â You almost bit your lip before you remembered the pain.
His gaze softened endlessly and he tucked a damp strand of your hair behind your ear. There were lots of tangled emotions inside of him still, but he saw you, this sweet delicate girl he had fallen for ever since the beginning and knew he had to take care of you now. âYou could never upset me, my beautiful strong princess.â
The words were mending on your shaken soul and you closed your eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath before you let him to his work.
âThe maester said the salve might be a little cool on the skin.â Jace murmured and you nodded in understanding. âAnd he gave me ice, scratched from the old side of the islandâs cliffs, for your cheek.â
You took the dripping bundle from his hand, sighing as the cold cloth touched your cheek, the swelling subtle so far yet inevitable to strengthen throughout the night. But every bruise and cut on your body was better than not living to see the sun rise in the morning. âI could apply the salve on my own?â
Jace shook his head. âLet me do this for you.â
He walked with you to his bed, helping you sit down as he knelt before you, devotion shimmering in his eyes. You realized that he needed this just as much as you did, to prove himself he was able to take care of you now, even if he had not been there for you then.
He cupped your healthy cheek as you covered the other one with your ice. âShould we start with your back?â
Jace helped you lift the fabric, only so much so he could see where the stone had struck you, a dull bruise blossoming right next to your spine. It was nothing he had not yet seen so far, still you felt self-conscious under his attentive eyes.
You held very still as Jacaerys began to carefully apply the ointment to the bruise, his finger drawing soft and soothing circles over the blue spot. His other hand touched your waist, just barely underneath the fabric of his shirt on you and you closed your eyes as the cooling sensation drew a little pain from you and let it vanish.
âGood?â
âFeels goodâŠâ You murmured and tried to crawl into the feeling, the tiny relief washing away a little of the darkness from before. With a small kiss to your nape, he let the shirt fall and cover you again.
Next came your sore wrists. He lifted both of them, seeing the red marks where the tight rope had cut into your skin and swallowing hard. He wanted to unleash Vermax on the dusty bones of your captors again until their remains were annihilated from this earth. Jace softly kissed both of them before he dipped his fingers into the small jar again and repeated his careful motions.
You made a small sound in your throat and he stopped instantly.
âToo hard?â
You shook your head. âMy lipâŠâ
He sat down beside you, the mattress dipping underneath his weight and bringing you closer to him. The cut wasnât pretty, but no cut was and you did not shy away from him as he took in the damage, one of his hands still rubbing circles into your wrist.
You held your breath as his coated thumb touched your bottom lip, his touch light as a feather as the cooling salve instantly mended the throbbing. Your hand reached up to hold his wrist, not ready yet to let him go when his touch felt infinitely good for your aching body. There was nothing sexual about the way you breathed against the pad of his thumb, relishing his care and simply letting it wash over you, and for a while you were simply content like this, Jacaerys remaining close to you as you breathed through the slowly ebbing pain.
âDo you want me to braid your hair for the night?â He asked quietly like he had so many times before.
Your wonderful beloved Jace. You nodded gratefully as he shuffled once more on the bed and sat behind you. Kissing the back of your head and brushing your hair over your shoulders for you, he got to work.
Your body was lulled into relaxation as his fingers combed through your hair, loosely braiding it so you wouldnât have to wake up with tangles and knots in the morning. His warmth was a comfort against your back and if the vicious bruise hadnât been there, you wouldâve leaned back against him, ready to melt into his tenderness.
âVermax saw right through them.â You spoke up after a while, your eyelids drooping from time to time from exhaustion as Jace finished up his braid for you. âHe didnât let them see at first, but there was a moment where I knew he was going to protect me, that he knew what was happening.â
âHe loves you as if you were his own rider.â Jace mumbled, affection for you and his dragon in his voice. âI am glad he had been there for you when I wasnât.â
âI want the finest sheep the shepherds can organize for tomorrow.â You looked over your shoulder with determination and Jacaerys frowned at you, a question in his eyes. You welcomed the small sting your lip caused you when its corner lifted up into a weak smile: âI want Vermax to be rewarded for defending his riderâs princess so honorably.â
âAnd Iâd be honored to be the one to select it for you, my princess.â Jaceâs face darkened, fury swirling in his brown orbs. âI still wish they wouldâve suffered more. They deserved much more than a quick death of fire.â
His revengeful words were nothing against the soft touch with which he doted on you and when he was done and brushed his fingers once more over your hair, your body wanted to sink into his pillows and melt into them.
Jace laid down with you, carefully adjusting his position beside you so he wouldnât accidently bump into your sore body. You exhaled deeply when your head touched his pillow, smelling so comfortingly of him. You could not bear to lie on your back, so you snuggled into Jaceâs bed on your stomach, hugging his pillow and turning your head so you could look at your love.
He was resting on his side, his brown eyes searching for any discomfort you might have. Your eyes flickered over his shoulder, towards the door of his chambers.
âYou are safe now, I promise.â Jace whispered and leaned forward, pressing a small kiss to your nose. âThere are five guards outside and my sword leans against the bed. Iâm here. Nothing bad will ever befall you again, my love, I swear it with my life.â
You gave him a tiny nod and tried to relax, although it was hard to keep the shadows lingering in the corners of the room at bay. You wiggled one of your hands out from under the pillow and found his, tugging him closer until his lean body warmed your side, one of his hands resting securely on your lower back.
âTomorrow, I want to take a walk to the cliffs.â You whispered, longing for the fresh air and its cleansing effect.
Jacaerys smiled. âThen it will be arranged. Does my princess wish for any company?â
You nodded timidly, his playful undertone distracting you from the dull throb underneath the ointments. âAnd I want to have a picnic if the sun is out, with all my favorite things.â
âIâll tell the kitchens then, first thing in the morning. Theyâll be happy to please their future queen.â
âAnd when Iâm healed, I want you to kiss meâŠâ Your eyes drooped, the exhaustion from the night overpowering the little anxiety that remained in you.
âYour wish is my command...â Jacaerys mumbled back, his eyes on you as you slowly drifted off into a well-deserved sleep. He had not been entirely honest with you, there were many things he wanted to do.
He watched you sleep beside him, the most innocent sweet being he knew, covered with his warm clothes and bruises on your skin. Jace still held your hand and was not willing to let it go for the rest of the night.
At the soonest time, heâd convene a council meeting and strengthen the security around Dragonstone. He already had caught word of Daemon wreaking havoc on the guard unions patrolling around the castle for not being more attentive, for the princess was one of his favorite people in this family and Jace knew heâd have an ally for his cause.
Heâd take his revenge for you.
But for now, he knew you needed him more than ever, and tomorrow heâd do his best to make you happy again.Â
He could almost see it in the dark of the room, your eyes closed blissfully against the sunbeams, your hair dancing with the wind as you walked hand in hand as you had done so many times as children. Youâd eat ripe peaches and cake and slowly, this incident would move past you until it was only what it was; a shadow in the corner, in the dead of nightâŠ

People will go on about how "Katara's story is a tragedy" because she... ended up marrying the guy she loves, having children and grandchildren which she was always excited about and literally becoming a master waterbender and rising to the top of her field as a healer.
Yes, Katara's story has tragic aspects to it. And there are certainly flaws in how she is written in tlok (Though I will argue that there are actually more issues with how Toph and Zuko are just plopped in there for no reason in later seasons). And her storylines aren't perfect, for example her resolving her trauma around the murder of her mother being more used to prop up Zuko than her own internal turmoil. (Most of TSR is from Zuko's perspective and I hate that actually)
"Katara's story is a tragedy" Why do you have such a hard on for this woman's misery? Let her be happy, man.
You know what gaang girlie's life is an actual onscreen tragedy?
Toph's!
People will fucking downplay Toph's childhood abuse because she wasn't physically hurt, but her childhood was a never ending carousel of abelism, misogyny, neglect and isolation. The way Toph describes her parent's treatment of her as "pressure and pain" is heartbreaking.
Toph's only escape was Earth Rumble and earthbending, but despite her skills, she remained the perfect little lady her parents always wanted her to be. She's never known a different life, and she was only able to be her real self in secret.
And when Toph finally opens up to her parents, when she finally lays her real self bare in front of the people who are supposed to love and care for her?
She is met with what may be, in my opinion, the cruellest rejection in the show.
Despite this, even when Toph runs away, she still cares for her parents' approval. Hell, she's even lured into a trap due to her getting a forged letter from her mom and getting excited because it looked like her mom was finally accepting her.
It's also important to note how determined to be self sufficient and to prove herself Toph is. We can especially see this right after she joins the Gaang, where she refuses to participate in splitting with the rest of the group, insisting on "pulling her own weight". This isn't Toph being a brat, or spoilt, this is her wanting to prove that she can handle herself because people have handled and understimated her her entire life.
Eventually, Toph starts to learn to trust the members of the Gaang and this is a step in the right direction. She's literally making friends for the first time in her life I'm so proud of her.
However, I was genuinely upset when Toph's life changing field trip with Zuko didn't work out. When Toph was trying to connect with Zuko and he blew her off (I'm not blaming him tho they had shit to do), I couldn't help but remember the rejection Toph suffered from Lao.
Post canon, Toph continues to try and prove herself, starting a metalbending school and training new metalbenders.
She also reconciles with her father. Not before Lao disowns he rmultiple times and calls her a rude, ungrateful thing. And while he eventually comes to understand Toph and cherish her, that type of trauma sticks with you.
So it's no wonder really that Toph, someone who went her entire childhood seemingly without even speaking to someone her age, would have trouble forming connections. She has children with two different men, neither of which seem to stick around.
Toph tries to do right by her daughters and gives them the freedom she never got. Sadly, the pendulum swung too far to the other side, since it seems that she started to neglect her daughters, which led to them developing a sleugh of issues of their own.
Toph becomes the cheif of police, which kind of makes sense. Republic City was only slowly emerging as an actual metropolis. Toph took on a role as a protector, and probably as a way to prove herself. But as Republic City grew, Toph probably realised that she became something she hated. A cog in the machine, and started to despise her job.
Searching for a semblance of the freedom and happiness her travels afforded her in her childhood, Toph leaves the city and takes up the life of a hermit in a swamp. She managed to fix her relationship with Suyin to some extent, but still seems reluctant or simply unable to connect with her daughter or grandchildren. Since she apparently hasn't seen Opal, a grown 20 year old woman since she was a little girl.
On the surface old Toph doesn't seem terribly dissimilar to young Toph, still tough and spunky. But she is more jaded, depressed and pessimistic. She comes out to save Suyin from immediate harm and manages to somewhat reconcile with Lin, but then she fucks right back off to the swamp where she seems to literally hide until Wu and Korra straight up force her to come with them.
Toph's story began with her alone and it seems to end with her alone as well. It's a story of a girl who grew up isolated and handled by others, and was woefully unprepared for the real world, which only jaded her further. She lives with the guilt of fucking up her daughters' lives and a belief in the pointlessness of life.
Toph started off longing to experience the world and ended up willingly isolating herself from it.
If that isn't a tragedy, I'm not sure what is.
Mind you, this is not the trauma olympics. I'm not saying that Toph has suffered more than Katara or that Katara's trauma is not as valid as Toph's. Katara and Toph's experiences are completely different, Katara being a victim of genocide and war, Toph being a victim of child abuse. I'm just saying that, objectively, Katara had a happier 'ending' than Toph.
#that being said I lowkey love Toph's storyline#i don't think her life would be better if she were in a âtraditionalâ family btw#hey lao beifong what if i killed you#toph beifong#toph#katara#suyin beifong#lin beifong#zuko#aang#lao beifong#beifong brainrot#opal beifong#legend of korra#avatar#tlok#the legend of korra#avatar the legend of korra#atlok#lok#atla#avatar: the last airbender#the last airbender#avatar the last airbender#kataang#pro toph beifong

pairing rafe cameron x kook! female reader
rating mature 18+
summary as children, you and rafe were best friends, but then tragedy suddenly struck his family and he shut everybody out. years later, you need his help when a pushy ex-boyfriend wonât leave you alone. rafe is perfect for the job because everybodyâs afraid of him. except for you.
content warnings stalker ex, violence, substance abuse, death and mourning of parent
» masterlist
· · ââ àŁȘ âč àŁȘ ââ · ·
After Rafe leaves, you make sure every door and window in your home is shut and locked.
You donât know if Ty would do something as crazy as break in. But there was a time youâd laugh in disbelief at the thought of him hurling insults at you and that was all he did by the end of your relationship, so youâre not taking any chances.
Beneath the fear he impales you with lies a sense of betrayal. He was so good at pretending to be kind. Only a monster could put on such a convincing act just to break your heart.
When you tell yourself heâll move on soon, you hate that it feels like false hope.
You text Sarah to let her know you made it home and that youâll see her at tonightâs beach party. Even though Ty will probably be there, you donât want him having any more power over you than he already has.
Youâre determined to have fun. To have a life. Especially because you have someone protecting you now.
Rafe is unnerved as he stands on the beach under the starry sky that night, surrounded by the guys he parties with all the time.
The crowds and the conversations are all the same, but everything is different now. Because heâs looking out for you and it gives him something he hasnât had in a long time. Purpose.
Itâs disorienting to Rafe, going from avoiding you to keeping his eyes on you so persistently. From afar, he watches you laughing with your friends and now that he has a reason to, he takes you in completely.
Heâd be an idiot not to admit that youâre beautiful. But he always knew that, no matter how hard he pretended not to notice you.
You slowly drift further away into the crowd. Rafe continues checking on you, keeping you in his sights.
Later on in the night, youâre in deep conversation with Sarah. Being three years her senior, you were much closer to Rafe when you were kids, but now youâd consider her a good friend.
When her eyes widen at something behind you, your body goes cold, expecting the worst. You turn to see your ex approaching you, a nearly empty beer bottle in his hand.
âWhereâs Rafe?â you ask Sarah, hushed.
âRafe?â she echoes in confusion. While she knows all about your ex, you havenât had a chance to tell her that her brother is helping you put on a farce. Youâre sure sheâll be in disbelief when you catch her up.
âHey,â Ty says gently, his hand at the small of your back. The sensation you once welcomed makes you sick. âCan we talk? Please? Iâm sorry about last night.â
Itâs no surprise. Youâre used to him yo-yoing between belittling you and putting on his nice guy act.
âNo,â you respond, twisting so that his hand slips off of you. âHow many times do I have to tell you to leave me alone?â
The booze in his system slows him down, but Rafe treads through the sand to you as fast as he can the second he sees Ty talking to you.
Suddenly, Rafeâs broad back is in front of you, a wall separating you from the man whoâs tormenting you. When Rafeâs there, you realize Ty doesnât scare you at all.
âFuck off,â Rafe mutters.
Ty drunkenly staggers back, creating several feet of distance between you. His face contorts with annoyance.
âYou know youâre just a bullshit rebound, right?â Ty calls. You look back at Sarah, whoâs watching the exchange in confusion.
âI canât hear you when youâre running away from me, pussy,â Rafe taunts.
Anger churns inside you at Tyâs words, prompting you to grab Rafeâs hand. You know Rafe couldnât care less - after all, this relationship is all an act - but Ty calling him a rebound, insinuating that heâs meaningless to you, bothers you.
You pull him away, cupping his fingers with both hands.
Rafe was an inch away from chasing Ty and swinging at him. If it wasnât for the alcohol blurring his senses, his fist would be aching right now from driving it into Tyâs jaw.
His entire body is stiff with rage, but for once in his life, the tension is dissolving instead of building up onto itself. Itâs from the way your hands feel on him.
âWhat an asshole,â you say. Even though you should probably let go of him, you canât.
Your touch is so warm. Rafe wants to ask why you reserve kindness for him after he shoved you out of his life. He wishes he could wipe it from his memory, the look on your face after he denied your every effort to talk to him. You grew up, but the disappointment in your stare never changed.
But he doesnât know how to say all this. He doesnât talk like that. With anybody. He couldnât even talk to the therapist his father took him to see after it happened.
Maybe if he had asked him why he couldnât so much as look at her, Rafe would have told his dad that the therapistâs blonde hair and gentle tone reminded him too much of his mother.
But after she told Ward that Rafe âwasnât responding to therapyâ, all he did was angrily yank his son out of the office, his grasp tight and painful.
Once they made it home, Rafe tearfully rushed to his parentsâ bed to try to smell his mother on her pillow even though the sheets had been washed.
He spent most of his childhood pretending he was bigger than he was, eager to grow up. But he remembers nuzzling his head into her pillow that day, hyperventilating and thinking he was too small to know his heart could hurt this bad.
It felt like no time had passed when Rose came into the picture. Rafe knew his parents werenât in a happy marriage, but he didnât expect Ward to start seeing another woman so soon.
Rafe angrily confronted his dad, as if a ninety-pound kid could be any sort of threat. It was the first time Ward slapped him. Heâs certain that it wasnât the first time his father wanted to hit him, but his mother had always been his defence. And then in an instant, Rafe didnât have her anymore.
You reach the shore together, far away enough from the crowd. You pull your hands away from Rafe and cross your arms, gazing at him under the moonlight.
âI wish heâd just stop already,â you say, shaken from Tyâs sudden approach. âThank you. Again.â
âItâs fine,â Rafe says flatly. But he doesnât walk away from you. He simply looks out at the dark sea with his hands in his pockets.
The waves crash beside you, the water climbing and retreating over the sand, threatening to wet your shoes.
The last time you stood together looking out at the water like this, you were kids skipping stones over the oceanâs swells. And because heâs not leaving, you take the opportunity to see if heâll let you in, even just a little bit.
You crouch to pick up a small, smooth stone and try to skip it over the water. It immediately falls straight below the surface. You breathe a short laugh.
âThat sucked,â Rafe says. His tone is lighter than what youâre used to.
âItâs been a while,â you retort. âAnd that rock wasnât very flat.â
âSure.â Despite himself, he cracks a smirk.
You canât remember the last time you saw happiness on his face. He has his motherâs smile.
âYou were better at finding the flat ones,â you say.
âI was better at everything.â
âAnd still so humble about it.â You havenât joked around with him like this in so long that it feels new. âProve it, then.â
âWhat?â
âThat you can do better than me,â you say. âGet two skips, at least.â
Rafe keeps his hands in his pockets, looking down at the stones scattered atop the sand. The wind whips around you, threatening rain.
âWeâre not kids anymore,â he rasps. If you want to take a walk down memory lane, you can do it alone.
He steps back, inviting the distance that lived between you for years to return. Yet another dismissal.
You step back, too. Your arms are not so much crossed anymore; youâre practically hugging yourself now. You need the comfort and he certainly isnât going to give it to you.
âDid I do something wrong⊠before?â you impulsively say. Now that you have his attention, you find a shred of courage to ask him whatâs been turning in your mind for years.
Deep down, youâve always feared it wasnât just the shock of what happened that made Rafe shut you out. Maybe you did or said something that deemed your friendship not worth keeping. Maybe you were too pushy. Or not pushy enough.
Rafeâs throat tightens. He never planned to have this conversation. He never wanted to.
You see his jaw clench. His silence is loud enough. Itâs obvious heâs done speaking.
âNevermind,â you say dejectedly. You turn, but his deep voice stops you.
âWhere are you going?â he asks, his protective instinct kicking in again.
âBack to my friends,â you say.
âHeâll just bother you again,â Rafe states. âCome on.â
He tilts his head towards the side of the beach he was on. Looking at the group of the same rowdy guys you always see him with in the distance makes you frown.
No matter how much youâve missed him, you know that standing silently next to him while he jokes around with his friends will just be a painful reminder of how he chose them and not you.
âIâll be fine,â you say.
âIt wasnât a question,â Rafe snaps abruptly.
For the first time since you started speaking again, the compassion you always feel for him is overpowered by anger. You know heâs helping you, but his domineering tone reminds you of how Ty speaks to you.
âIâll be fine,â you repeat. The cold tide reaches your feet, soaking your shoes.
Irritation pricks Rafeâs skin. For years, youâve been trying to force conversations with him, and now, when heâs inviting you to stay by his side, youâre shutting him down?
As you walk away, the feeling of rejection screws a hole into his chest. Then he realizes that this is the cold, empty way heâs been making you feel for years.
âI know,â you say when you see Sarah, acknowledging her puzzled expression, linking arms with her.
Youâre about to tell her this is all a game of pretend, but the risk of Ty finding out from anyone overhearing or her accidentally mentioning it to someone is too scary.
âWhat was that?â she says with a disbelieving laugh.
âRafe and I⊠started talking again. The other night. And weâre seeing each other now.â
âWow,â is all she can say. She glances across the beach, as if looking at Rafe will offer any sort of clarity.
You havenât spoken much about him with Sarah. Years ago, youâd often tell her how much you wished heâd just talk to you again and sheâd tell you he doesnât talk to anyone anymore.
She knows your relationship with him is strained and basically non-existent. You feel bad for lying to her, but your fear of Ty is too big to take any risks.
As the night carries on, your ex stays away from you.
Before heading home, you separate from your friends for just a moment to throw out your cup when you see a figure approaching you.
Goosebumps grow across your skin as Ty passes by behind you, his keys jingling in his hand.
âYou planning on hiding behind him forever?â he asks. âWhatâs gonna happen when heâs not around, huh?â
You stare at him with a scowl, hoping your face isnât showing just how frightened you are.
To your relief, Ty continues on his way, crossing into the parking lot. You remember him picking you up in the car you watch him sit in now and how he acted like such a gentleman, all the while hiding who he really was.
He succeeded in scaring you. His words left you unsettled, tears pricking your eyes, your breath shallow. The thought of going home and sleeping alone fills you with dread.
Maybe it was just an empty threat. But maybe it wasnât.
You need someone to stay with you tonight. You rush back onto the sand towards the other side of the beach.
Rafeâs gaze is fixed on one of his friends telling a drunken story. But then you appear, crossing the distance with a fear-struck expression.
âWhatâd he do?â Rafe mutters, his body tensing. âWhere is he?â
âHe left,â you respond. Your anxiety pushes you to hold his forearm for some stability.
âWhatâd he do?â he repeats.
âHe⊠said some stuff,â you say, voice shaking. âCan you-â
âI told you to stay with me,â Rafe interrupts. Heâs seething. This could have been prevented if you had just listened to him.
But the way youâre breathing and holding onto him, as if youâre lost at sea and heâs the only thing keeping you afloat, makes him regret snapping.
âAnd I didnât listen because you yelled at me just like he does,â you mumble quietly, letting go.
The comparison stings. He shouldnât blame you. He knows that. And now that the booze has worn off, heâd love a shot at Ty with nothing slowing him down.
Some of his buddies are watching you two in confusion. Theyâd never seen you together and now youâre clearly in a heated conversation. Just like a couple fighting.
âWhat were you gonna ask me?â Rafe says, wishing he hadnât interrupted you.
Youâre unsure if you should ask. But even with your homeâs security system in place, who knows how long police would take to arrive after a triggered alarm? You need someone already there in case Ty is crazy enough to break in. Someone you know can protect you.
âCan you stay at my house tonight?â you mumble. âIâm scared of being alone.â
Rafe falters. He agreed to pretend to be your boyfriend, and staying with you is a boyfriend thing to do, but the pressure of being in an empty house together after years of avoiding you makes him uneasy.
Yet, at the same time, the prospect of being completely alone with you gives him a sense of home that only adds to the confusion thatâs been clouding in his mind.
âDid you drive here?â he finally says.
You know next to nothing about Rafe these days, but you do know that he does almost everything alone. He never arrives or leaves parties with people. Itâs always just him on his motorcycle.
âI came with a friend,â you reply. âBut I can wait until youâre ready to leave.â
His muscles lose some of their tension. Youâd be willing to stand here and wait for as long as youâd need to just so you donât have to be on your own. Youâre desperate.
Rafe stays out until heâs exhausted. Itâs how he makes sure the second heâs in bed, he can take a shot or do a line and fall asleep right away, giving no opportunity to be subjected to his thoughts.
But guilt is a powerful opponent and this is a fight he knows heâll lose.
âLetâs go,â he sighs.
After you let your friend know you have a ride home, you make your way to Rafeâs motorcycle with him in silence.
He grabs his helmet from the boot, thoughtlessly about to put it on. But then he remembers heâs not alone for once.
He holds the helmet out to you. You hesitate, about to ask him if he has an extra for himself, but why would he?
âYou sure?â you ask.
âTake it.â
âYou donât have to,â you say. Rafe sends a groan towards the starry sky.
âGoddamn it, do you have to be so difficult?â he mutters. The edge of his tone is cutting. Youâre fed up.
âI know youâre doing me a favor, but could you stop being so rude about it?â you say.
Rafe exhales in frustration. Shit. Heâs sure heâs acting just like your asshole ex again.
âIsnât the whole point of this to keep you safe?â he says, softness in his voice. âCan you just put it on?â
You look up at him through your lashes. His forlorn gaze extinguishes the fire of your irritation and you relent, accepting the helmet, the shell cold and hard in your hands.
Rafe swings his leg over the bike, turning on the engine. He glances back at you as you put the helmet on.
You steady yourself and straddle the sputtering motorcycle. Itâs nerve-racking placing your hands on Rafeâs hips.
With his feet on the ground, he drags his big hands over yours and guides them up to his abdomen.
âYou have to hold tighter,â he half-shouts over the engine. You obey, your chest pressing against his back, your arms wrapping around his torso.
You wonder if he can feel how fast your heart is pounding. His t-shirt is so thin. His body is firm and warm.
You appreciate that he gave you his helmet, but you wish it wasnât in the way now so that you could lean on him and press your cheek between his shoulder blades.
Your mind has run away from you. Itâs odd craving someone who doesnât seem to like you all that much. You still donât even know why heâs helping you.
As Rafe drives out of the lot, slower than he usually would, he hates that he likes the feeling of you wrapped around him this much. Heâs been pushing this sort of closeness away for so long. He didnât know it could feel so good.
As he drives beneath the glowing streetlights, he canât remember the last time he felt proud of himself like he does now. The relief that washed over your face when he told you heâd stay at your house is replaying in his mind.
While heâs the one protecting you, youâre giving him something, too. Youâre pulling him away from the sense of aimlessness he lives in every day.
Rafe goes to his place first, stuffing the things heâll need to sleep over into a duffle bag and draping it across his chest, before driving to your house.
When you step through the front door together, he watches you quickly enter your code into the security panel, then rush to shut and lock the door.
Youâre clearly still so terrified. Rafe needs to know exactly what Ty did to make you act like this.
âWhatâd he say to you?â he breaks the silence, dropping his bag into his hand. âTonight. Whatâd he say?â
You lean against the door, hands tucked behind you as you look up at him. Itâs odd, Rafe being in your house. You never thought heâd be here again.
âHe asked me if Iâm gonna hide behind you forever and what Iâll do when youâre not with me,â you say. It makes Rafe want to kill the idiot with his bare hands.
âIâd call the police,â you continue, âbut they donât help unless he actually does something. Or if thereâs proof that heâs planning to. I just hope he gets tired of it so you donât have to keep doing this.â
Rafe wants to tell you heâll be here for you for as long as you need him. Itâs a shock that his knee-jerk reaction is to make a promise to anyone, let alone to you.
But itâs no surprise that your focus is on how this is affecting him. He still canât figure out what could possibly make you think heâs worth the consideration.
âWhere am I sleeping?â he asks, settling for the easy way out of the conversation.
You lead him upstairs to the guest room a few doors down from your bedroom. Rafeâs eyes travel over the family photos organized in a neat grid on the hallway wall, watching you grow up through every image.
His heart lurches at an image of four people on the beach. Itâs you two as kids, surrounded by your smiling mothers. He hasnât looked at a photo of his mom in years.
You notice the sound of Rafeâs footsteps stop and you look back to see him staring at a photo. Youâve memorized the wall by now, knowing exactly which one heâs looking at.
What can you possibly say? That you miss her, too? You canât come close to understanding his grief.
His forehead crinkles, his Adamâs apple bobs with a hard swallow, and you swear you see him stop breathing for a moment. Then his gaze darts off of the photo and you silently lead him the rest of the way.
Rafe enters the room you take him to and swings the door behind him without a word.
You get ready for bed and settle under your covers. Knowing youâre not alone helps you doze off within minutes.
Youâre in a deep sleep when a loud clang pulls you into consciousness. Immediately, you fear itâs Ty.
But once you hear the tapping on the window, you realize itâs storming outside. A roll of thunder is what woke you up. You check the time to see itâs nearly two a.m.
Thunder rumbles again as you slip out of bed. Your survival instinct is beckoning you to go check on Rafe, to make sure heâs still here in case you need him.
You turn on the hallway light and see that the guest room door is just slightly open. And the bed is empty.
Before you can jump to conclusions, you hear a laugh track spilling out of the television downstairs. He didnât leave.
Youâre pretty sure Rafe doesnât want you disrupting his solitude. But you need to know why heâs doing all this for you. Itâs been tumbling in your mind since he agreed to it. Thatâs what gives you the push to go downstairs and find him.

although humbert humbert is the kind of stereotypical image of a pedophile (does what he does because heâs attracted to children (though i mean unreliable narrator he could be lying)), lolita is SUCH a good text to childhood studies with. like humbert retains power over delores by telling her that he is her only guardian, and that escaping her would mean winding up as a ward of the state where she will be treated even worse. he uses the power he has over her and specifically draws attention to the fact that he has so much power over her because society leaves her completely powerless; were she to go to the police about him, she wouldnât be able to choose to take care of herself or choose who gains ownership over her in the future, so she might as well stay with the guy who rapes her but at least buys her things
the tragedy of her ending, then, in part is the fact that the only person she could manage to go to for help is someone who will also sexually exploit her, but (at least she believes) less than humbert will. her school notices that she is struggling, but the only recourse they have or even seem interested in is informing the guardian who is causing the abuse, a very common issue for abused children in schools. as much as conservatives hand wring about schools taking over their parental rights, they really have nothing to fear even now into the modern day, as only the most blatant and obvious child abuse can be addressed without involving parents; every other action schools have available to them is to consult the childâs owner, their parent(s), first and foremost. nobody in a childâs life, as lolita reflects, is able to materially aid a child without the parentsâ permission or else they are breaking the law. as such, deloresâs only chance for escape was to go with a man fine with breaking the law, and that wound up being another pedophile.
the criticism of systems of power in lolita is criminally underdiscussed, but a lot of that is also because criticisms of systems is often glossed over in most discussions of csa. people are somewhat aware that pedophiles, like other rapists, are more interested in power than attraction, but the imbalance of power between child and adult is fully naturalized. while obviously some aspects of that are innate (the physical difference, for example), there is also plenty about that difference in power which is socially and legally constructed, ESPECIALLY between a child and their legal guardian, who retains ownership over them even above the childâs own autonomy
#personal#lolita novel#i have written a more extensive essay about this and other elements of childhood studies in lolita#but i kind of just realized the thing about the inevitability that she would be ârescuedâ by another abuser#due to the legal ramifications of that

You know most of the time people get angry at Cale because he can't for the life of him communicate things as they are, specifically regarding his health and seems to be unable to register his family worries for him.
And to that I said, of fucking course, his whole life on earth was horrible and he didn't develop emotionally because let's do a quick recap:
His parents died.
His abusive uncle took him in
He ended up in an orphanage.
When he was twenty the world collapsed.
He was bullied because he didn't have abilities.
Then the shelter he was in was destroyed
Once again he was alone until he met with LSH and CJS and let's not forget he was already 20 something.
Not long after they died as well.
Then he closed off with everyone because he didn't want to get attached just to lose them again.
He woke up in a novel
GoD confirmed he was supposed to die not CJS nor LSH.
He had to face his past again due to SG test.
...Well you get my point by now he was a little too busy surviving for him to actually develop self worth, most of his life he learned he wasn't someone who deserves affection or care and unfortunately no one said otherwise and if they did they die leaving him worse than before.
So it is no wonder he keeps things to himself all the time, after all why would others worry about him it makes no sense? At least from his pov.
That's why he is so detached at the beginning, still he can't help but try fixing things because it is the only action he knows
Surviving and saving others is so deeply engrained in him that unknowingly he keeps getting in a bigger mess. He got attached against his best efforts and gives more than he can take because he is not used to getting, the people who ever gave him anything always ended up dying before he could understand being emotional or plainly having emotions is normal.
#cale henituse#lout of the countâs family#tcf#lcf#tcf cale#is just a rant#character analysis#why do I ended so attached to this character remains a mistery#He is an empath your honor!

Backstory - farm brothers
So itâs fairly clear that Weston and Lucas are not normal people. Surprise, surprise theyâre killers. I wanted to have a little Texas chainsaw massacre slasher vibe but donât know if that worked very well.
Basically they lure(or people just end up there by themselves) folk to their farm and kill them. Though there are instances where they let some walk away without a scratch, but thatâs only if theyâre needed, will definitely be missed and could potentially be traced back there, and havenât the slightest clue whatâs truly going on at the farm. The Callaghan brothers canât have anyone running their mouth, you know.
Their parents were pieces of shit and only had kids to lessen the work load. The farm belonged to their fathers side of the family. their mother had never planned to marry their father but an unexpected pregnancy and pressure from others made them stay together. The two of them were miserable with each other, always fighting and blaming the other partner. The mother was mostly mad about having to spend the rest of her days on a âdirty farmâ and work. The father hated being married to a vile, selfish woman who barely helped with anything. His own parents were old and his siblings had quickly moved far away to prevent having anything to do with the farm, which meant everything landed on him.
It was the mother who began using her son as a helping tool. Tasks like sweeping, feeding the animals, collecting the eggs and cooking simple meals were passed to him. At first, when Westonâs dad found out he was furious. But not because it came at Westonâs expense, no, it was because he saw it as a sign of ultimate laziness.
The earliest memories Weston has is of his parents fighting over him. He remembers when his father would reprimand his mother about using him to do her labour(he wanted her to suffer the same tiring days he does) while she screamed back. But then it stopped and his father would no longer complain. Nearly a year after that his little brother was born, and of course he became the one taking care of him after he didnât have to nurse anymore.
Lucas followed his older brother everywhere. He was his second shadow when he went around and did his chores. It was fine with weston, he wouldnât admit it but it became a comfort knowing he was a hero to someone. It made life easier. Unfortunately their parents wanted to put Lucas to work too, the moment they considered him old enough. That wasnât the worst part though. Their mood soured significantly over the years and they verbally abused them on a daily basis, a couple shoves and blows were hard to avoid. Youâd think theyâd be happier with the easier load.
Weston would have been able to take it ifd only been him, but seeing his younger sibling being treated as dirt too, that wouldnât fly. The hatred grew stronger each day. When it had boiled over the edge, the older one had decided on a plan. They would kill their parents. Sadly, they were too young at the moment, there was no way theyâd be able to overpower two adults as they currently were. They would have to wait until they were older. And so they did. Years they waited for the right opportunity. The abuse and work never stopped, in fact, the older they got the more take they had to preform. Eventually everything was done by them and nothing was done by their parents. They finally got what they wanted, total freedom from the harsh farm life.
The day Weston told Lucas the plan to kill their parents, he had expected a little pushback from him, but he was surprised when Lucas was totally in on it. One might say he was even excited.
It was really easy to murder them. You just had to corner each one when they were alone and then slice their neck. The kids had far outgrown the adults, they were no match for them anymore.
After their mother and fathers death the brothers took over the farm. Despite all the bad memories they still liked it there. It was rather peaceful(especially when no one criticised you on how to feed the pigs), plus, they didnât have much of an education beyond reading and writing. Where would they even go? At least on the farm they had food and shelter.
The killing didnât stop though. It appeared the first murder had awakened something in the both of them. They both had found out they enjoyed it. The power and pleasure in seeing their parents fear stricken faces was too good of a high not to experience again.
Although, they might make one exception to the killing if youâre cute enough~

#6 Astrology Observations
People with 2nd house stellium are generous but also protective with their resources. Like the more you show them that you want/need their help, the more they will withhold it from you
People with prominent Leo placements in natal chart have such sensitive ego, like the moment you make them feel like they are less important, they will remember that sh*t forever
Although, ironically, Leo placements are really good in boosting someone else's ego as well
Aquarius people are the funniest people I've ever met. They can be so loving and caring but in a light-hearted way
Prominent Saturn placement in composite chart have feel like one of you will be looked up to, almost like a parent or teacher. This also works in synastry chart
In my experience, Virgos always have that selfish streak about them. Makes me want to kind of gatekeep certain things from them lol
In my life, a lot of Sagittarius women fell for Cancer men so much??? It's weird though, because I always perceive Sagittarius women as this ambitious, freedom-seeking, and sometimes even reckless in their emotional expression. But they ended up baby-ing these Cancer men
North node conjunct Chiron in composite chart is very karmic and hurtful, at least that's my experience. It's like the universe will forced the both of you to grow and change, face your deepest fears and even the worst version of yourselves.
Mars in 8th house composite: The Jealous Couple. The moment some b*tch tried to touch / talk to their significant other inappropriately, all hell breaks loose. Just don't. Even the most chill couple I know just won't sit quietly, they will fight with you. And don't get me wrong, this isn't about one person gets jealous of the other. It's both. Both of them have this attitude towards the relationship
Lilith in 1st house composite, both become each other's sexiest and darkest fantasies
I feel like a lot of people are obsessed with 8th house synastry. People actually imagined it to be this hades/persephone type sh*t where one person is obsessed with the other -reminds me of those creepy booktok girls who fantasize about getting kidnapped by handsome dude. While in real life, 8th house synastry can be so emotionally abusive and the worst part is, not one person in this person meant any harm or even have the obsessive qualities before this relationship. Which is why some people talk about this placement as if the people in it is "losing themselves", because they do might be changed, but not always for the better. Or at least, these people will be the worst version of themselves before they get better. In real life, if you have s*icidal tendencies or depression, this type of relationship can trigger you so much. Oftentimes, this person that you have 8th house synastry with represents both your insecurities and desire
There's something about Pisceans that somehow seems like "the perfect victim" with how passive and innocent they are, only later people discover how they hate feeling trapped or abused in anyway. The moment they feel slighted, they will remember it forever however due to their somewhat light-hearted and dreamy nature, they seems to forget about it so easily but they aren't. It's only a matter of time before they leave. Somehow, some way, with their passivity, it seems to others that they will just "accept" whatever treatment from others, but then you notice with time, they will be withdrawn and avoid you little by little. Piscesan reminds me sooooo much of Sagittarius (and yes both are ruled by Jupiter, which represents expansion) so the idea that they're this harmless, passive, innocent little baby who will stay there no matter what is so not true. They will avoid confrontation and will not argue with you about how wrong you treated them, but they will find an escape route
Sagittarius women really out there being the baddies and somehow fall for questionable men đ
Venus in 7th house in the Solar Return Chart does not always means that you will find love that year. It could also means that justice will be in your favor
Those people with placements that aligns with your mercury sign can help balance your mental health
I'm not even sure if I've written this before, but all water signs are equally vindictive. They don't ever forget sh*t you did to them, especially the girls
Scorpios, especially the males, are attracted to dark, dangerous personalities, probably because in some sense they recognized that characteristics within themselves. However, once they become the said victims of those dark personalities, they will become too spiritual/religious, or further affected their narrow-mindedness (if they are already narrow-minded) and those who aren't narrow-minded initially, they will start to become one. They can even turn hateful. This is because in my opinion, like most water signs, they are can be prone to naivety. They genuinely thought that these dark personalities will do harm to others, but somehow not to them because they too recognized these characteristics in them. But these dark personalities, or just messed up people are not picky about their victims, they just victimize anyone in their way. This can create power struggles in the relationship or make the relationship too transactional because Scorpios will want to overpower the other, and would rather stay in this relationship (until they win the war, or get even, revengeful, etc) than to just stay the f away from these toxic relationships. This can create harmful patterns in their behavior where future relationships with others/new lovers will be filled with manipulations and "tactics" rather than sincerity

Real Talk: Ace Didn't Need to Ask For Help, It's On Garp
i always hate when i see comments about how ace was an idiot or ace should have just asked garp for help because, no? like dawg wtf do you mean?
the one thing we have been told repeatedly across the manga and anime is that ace could have lived his entire life being perfect and he still would have ended up on that podium
he could have become a marine, a police officer, a teacher, a chef and all of that would have been reduced to nothing the moment his parentage was discovered
yes, ace became a pirate of his own volition, but sengoku never mentioned his piracy
he never mentioned all the criminal activity ace did as the captain of the spade pirates or even later as the second division leader of the whitebeard pirates
you know what sengoku did bring up though the moment he got on that damn podium? ace's parentage
he mentions nothing that gained ace his bounty to begin with when he gets that den den mushi in his hand. why?
because it doesn't matter that ace is a pirate. what matters is that they are eradicating the last gol d roger's bloodline
bear in mind that they were killing pregnant women and young children who could have even had the slightest possibility of being roger's lover or kin
akainu deadass says that he doesn't care if every other pirate at marineford escapes as long as ace and luffy died and he would ensure their deaths personally. and for what? not their piracy. none of their crimes. not even for ensuring that the truth that certain countries and lands that were actually saved by pirates instead of the marines never got out
but because their fathers were gol d roger and monkey d dragon respectively
solely because of that, he deemed neither of them deserved to live
and as far as garp goes - i love garp as much as the next person but garp has never done anything for ace to trust him enough to ask for help even if he felt he deserved to ask
garp's negligent parenting coupled with the abusive words ace grew up hearing led ace to believe he didn't even deserve to be born. when he even asks garp if his being born was a good thing, garp can't even tell him 'yes'. he just says 'time will tell'. my brother in the blue seas, that is an elementary schooler questioning his right to exist
ace is defeated by blackbeard in episode 325 (chapters 434-441), luffy hears about his execution being set in episode 416 (chapter 522) and then finally ace is killed in episode 483 (chapter 574). that is 158 episodes and 140 chapters total and in that time what ace receives from garp are conversations that boil down to
"you did this to yourself"
"i just wanted you to become a fine marine"
"i don't have sympathy for criminals but i do have sympathy for family"
and garp actively preventing those who wish to save ace from reaching him. yes after akainu strikes ace, garp does react viscerally with instinct to protect his grandson, but that's too little too damn late at that point
garp having his moral dilemmas mean nothing when, however long ace spent in impel down, he isn't trying to help him
garp having his 'wishing things had been different' thoughts mean nothing when garp is preventing people from saving his grandson
there's a reason garp lets dadan beat and berate him when they reunite in windmill village and it's because he knows she's right
over the course of 20 years, garp has consistently chosen work over ace and luffy. as much as i love dadan and co, bandits are not a good choice to have raise your grandkids and then be the surprised pikachu meme when neither of them wish to become marines
garp's inability to see past the system he disdains yet clings onto actively shoots him in the foot
prevents him from seeing that ace is right when he says he never could have become a marine
luffy could have never become a marine. i do hear arguments saying that luffy might have had a fair chance considering garp is biologically his grandfather but i say that's truly up in the air considering how, even with that knowledge, akainu still wants to put luffy on a poster
but that's all to say, asking why ace never asked garp for help is ridiculous
the fuck would ace look like asking the man who has done nothing but
unintentionally fostered ace's resentment towards luffy in their early childhood
told ace it was his own fault he landed where he did
falcon punched marco halfway across marineford
for help?
and that's not even mentioning the fact that up until that point, ace didn't believe he deserved to live. he didn't think he had the right to exist. the only thing that kept him going up until that point was hoping he'd find an answer that justified his being born and his love for luffy and sabo. ace tells luffy in his dying breaths if it weren't for the two of them, he would have gave up on living a long time ago
yes, garp loves ace and luffy
he loves them both dearly but he is also incapable of putting them before work, before his ideals of justice. these two truths can coexist at the same time. garp's stubborn to a fault and his moral dilemma resulted in both inaction and the prevention of ace's escape
so to say that marineford would have gone differently if ace had asked is seriously undermining the character work. because in reality, it's up in the air on whether or not that would have done anything. ace asking garp for help could have gone either way and that's the beauty of the gray area regarding garp's actions during the summit war
and yes, i can get why it's frustrating that ace turned around to fight akainu when he could have just left and got it back in a blood a different time
but aside from ace having a temper about specific topics, we do get an answer as to why he couldn't bring himself to runaway when we finally are able to dive into his past with luffy and sabo:
he doesn't want to run away from any situation because ace is deathly afraid of losing something if running away ends up being the bad call
and in that moment, luffy was behind him
even if akainu hadn't talked down whitebeard, ace would have inevitably turned back around because he wouldn't have been able to shake his fear of losing something or someone he cared about
as long as there is something precious for him to potentially lose, ace will never run
he was doomed from the start
his being the son of gol d roger doomed him from the start
and that's what makes ace so tragic
#look she's not writing#one piece#portgas d ace#fire fist ace#monkey d garp#gol d roger#monkey d luffy#sabo#revolutionary sabo#one piece sabo#animanga thoughts#ppl get too comfortable slandering my husband i had to say something#hash and i were talking about this last night#TAT like y'all tf ace need to beg garp's old ass for help for???#please explain i am confusion

heavenly demon SY au, with a teaspoon of familial cumplane and a pinch of shenliushen.
Some decade before the tianxi era TLJ has a one night stand with a male demon who gets pregnant. Surprise! it's airplane who wanted a taste of that doomed heavenly pillar. He's older than MBJ in this au and hasn't had the chance to meet young MBJ yet. MBJ has enough on his plate without some random older demon howering around him. SQH is many things a creep he is not, thank you very much.
So instead he gets pregnant by TLJ, has a cry session, wonders if he's going to birth the protagonist, cries some more over all the death flags he has raised for himself, and then just accepts his fate. TLJ doesn't care much about this little surprise, it was just a one night stand after all. However, his advisors have been nagging him about getting hitched and producing heirs, so he sees his chance to finally getting rid of one problem by throwing the other one at it. Very clever indeed!
SQH becomes TLJs first concubine. SQH does not become empress, but until TLJ marries further, he's as good as one. So SQH (with babybump proudly on display) starts fixing up TLJs court, all administrative tasks, and generally making it run smoother than it has for generations. TLJ is happy as can be, finally he can leave his empire for months on end to follow his true calling, reading and watching every human romance story that has ever been produced!
SQH gives birth to a healthy baby boy. But before he can think of naming him LBH, the System interrupts and has him name it SY instead (weird cause neither him nor TLJ is named Shen). SQH figures this is either another transmigrator or the system has plans involving this child. Which, dude, hands off his spawn! Not cool.
SY grows up as the apparent heir to the entire demon realm. Which is awesome! He can pretty much do anything he wants whenever he wants. But also, what about LBH? He isn't meant to be the demon emperor, that's his future didis job! Fuck, he is going to have to fight LBH for the throne isn't he? He's so dead.
It doesn't help that his mother (second father? He's not going to think too long on the logistics behind his birth) is strange even for demonic standards. For a demon he is increadibly skittish, always avoiding conflict like the plague. And he constantly walks around muttering to himself, stoping the moment anyone comes within hearing distance. Although, SY has to admit he's a pretty good parent all things considered. He always makes sure SY has everything he needs and puts away at least one day a week just for the two of them.
SY does find out who SQH is when he one day hears him mumble about the plot and LBH. SY interrogates him and finds out he's another transmigrator. That explains a lot! SQH is happy to learn his child is another transmigrator and not a puppet for the system to push its agenda. So happy in fact he spills he's actually the author of this world, which sends SY through the five stages of grief before circling back to anger. What do you mean that lousy hack author is his mother!?!? Someone end his misery, this should count as child abuse!
He has half of the mind to run away and never be seen again but SQH begs him to stay. He's only in this position bc SY exists and if SY runs away he might get kicked out or pressured into having another child. SY despite it all still on some level sees SQH as his parent and reluctantly agrees to stay and continue on his path as heir. He hasn't met TLJ that often and he knows TLJ wouldn't do anything to stop the rest of his court if they decided to kick SQH out.
So life continues until news arrive about TLJ being burried under a mountain. SQH tells SY that SXY is LBHs mother and probably imprisoned in HHP at that moment. They decide the best course of action would be to kidnap SXY and bring her to the demon realm. SQH should have enough control over the empire even with TLJ gone. Especially with SYs help as the de facto heir and a heavenly demon in his own right.
SY for his part is also fully on board with this plan. He can help raise the protagonist and give him the childhood he deserves? Count him in! It would also help to be on good terms with LBH if he ever decides to take over the demon realm. SY would gladly help him take the throne!
However, before they can set any plan in motion the system assigns them a mission to keep the demon realm from falling into chaos. Moments later the court splinters as factions start fighting each other over power, and the empire dives into unrest and civil war. At the end SY comes out on top and is crowned as the new emperor.
They are too late to do anything as the coldest day of the year has already passed. When they try and send people out to find the newborn LBH they are met by HHP cultivators searching for SXY and end up in multiple skirmishes. In the end SY pulls the demons back over the border when the sects, thinking SY is out to revenge his father, starts threatening with another war.
SY is beyond himself, now how will he escape the protagonists wrath!? SQH deals with the setback the only way he knows, by burying himself in the administrative work. The following years SY spends stabilizing the realm with SQHs help (it's mostly SQH), and starts travelling around to see what the world has to offer. He soon gets a reputation of taking after his father.
SQH all the while continues to run the realm by himself again (nothing new there) and meets the future king of the Northern desert, Mobei-jun. Mobei-jun of course immediately takes interest in the MILF of the demon realm. Half the time he acts like a frightened rodent, the other half he rules the demons with an iron fist, what demon wouldn't be besotted! (SY is well aware most of the realm seems to have the hots for his mother. He tries not to think about it.)
MBJ starts trying to court SQH in typical demonic fashion. H e tries to fight SQH, sends gifts in the form of treasures and kills, and gives over power of the northern desert to SQH. SQH is used to this type of treatment. Most demons seems to want to hit him for some reason? He just writes off the gifts as taxes. And isn't it only natural for demons to push all the work on those that are weaker. MBJ has his work cut out for him.
Meanwhile SY starts travelling the human realm in search of his lost little brother. He's hoping to at least find him before LBH joins CQM. He should be able to at least stop that much of the abuse LBH is meant to experience. And he does find him! At the steps of CQM 10 years after his disappearance. Shit.
SY doesn't dare get too close yet. His disguise isn't good enough to test the scrutiny of cultivators, so going up to LBH right now would be suicide. He decides to come back later, after getting an artifact that would let him hide every trace of his demonic presence. He has no plan on ending up like TLJ. Poor Binghe will just have to survive the tea scene and the first weeek on QJP. SY will make it up to you later! Promise!
SY only shortly returns to the palace to see MBJ is still trying his best to woo mother airplane (without success!). He goes back to the sect and walks directly up to QJP to find LBH, and is instead directed to the bamboo hut. There he's questioned about his intentions, and decides to speak the truth (well most of it). His little brother went missing years ago and now SY believes him to be on this very peak! He has returned to bring LBH back home.
SJ of course hates LBH for the similarities he has to himself, but who would have guessed he also was abandoned by his older brother? Fate is truly laughing him in the face! This won't make SJ hate LBH less, but he has no plan on just giving him over to this stranger who took too long to return for his didi (just like qi-ge). So SJ claims he isn't willing to give up a disciple just like that. Hoping SY will show his true colors and abandon the little beast once and for all. When SY instead doubles down on wanting to take LBH with him, SJ decide to test how far this determination will take him (prove you are not like qi-ge).
Which leaves SY to stay on QJP as a guest while being continuously tested by SJ. And with time they slowly befriend each other and spend time just to share a cup of tea and talk literature (if SJ slowly starts trusting SY with things he's never told anyone else then that's his business).
At some point SY successfully catches a moment with LBH where he introduces himself as LBHs elder brother from their father's side. He offers to take LBH with him and leave that moment, but after LBH has digesting these new revelations (he has a brother!), declines. His adoptive mother wanted him to be a righteous cultivator, so a cultivator he'll become!
SY, already unable to deny this little bun anything, just has to accept he'll have to spend some time on QJP. Maybe he'll be able to persuade LBH to join him once SJ decides he has passed all tests. It's not too bad, SY has complete access to the library and oh boy is there a lot of things he never learned about the human realm before.
At the same time he meets the rarely seen bai zhan peak lord. LQG immediately thinks something is fishy with this QJP guest, but he's not sure what exactly (his war god senses are tingling). So to SJs great annoyance he starts showing up more often, trying to figure SY out. He even invites SY on a few monster hunts to see if he slips up, but to no avail (there are a few close calls). The more time they spend together the more he finds he enjoys talking about beasts with SY (he'll take it to the grave how his stomach flutters when SY teases him). SY even succeeds in getting LQG to teach LBH some swordforms once in a while.
When SYs identity as the demon emperor is finally revealed, it's a surprise to all three of them.
(Once SY is finally able to return to the demon realm for a visit it's to MBJ introducing himself as SYs new stepdad)

"Bâbut... Snivellus is a death eater..."
Listen here, you little shit. For Severus, he got neglected by BOTH parents (and it was implied that he was abused both physically and mentally as well.), gets bullied by two boys because he wanted to go to Slytherin (who sneers back and ends up getting bullied), almost gets killed and Sirius nor Remus gets any consequences other than detention (Really? Is his life worth detention and not Azkaban?), James flexes it to Lily and Lily starts believing James over the victim, Severus accidentally calls his bestfriend a mudblood over the heat of the situation (Lily was about to smile, when James literally used scorgify in his mouth), loses the person thay cared for him the most compared to others (Which Lily isn't even a good friend, so his life is messed up), with Remus and Sirius not maturing (Sirius still calls Severus "Snivellus", and Remus and Sirius spreading lies like "Severus was jealous of James" or "Lily never hated James," when it's the other way around!!! James was jealous of Severus because he existed and Lily was his best friend!
Now his blood supremacist friends are basically recruiting him, and helping him on the way! Basically, the "bad side" is his good side! They are the only ones who "cared" for him when he needed help! He was a death eater for a reason, and people manipulating him because he was vulnerable is a reason.
The audacity of stans trying to make a hotter version of SeverusâRegulus? Regulus is basically a walmart Severus but TimothĂ©e Chalamet dressed up in wizard robes! If Regulus was told as ugly, nobody would boohoo care about him.
Y'all only hate Severus and love Regulus because J.K. Rowling never made a Marauders era movie! Regulus is basically a blood supremacist with Voldemort shrines and posters who'd call Lily a mudblood! While Severus is basically bullied on a daily basis.
You guys got to see Severus's good and bad things! Like him "bullying" children, but saved the wizarding world. Literally, maybe he targeted children, but so did Minerva! Minerva literally targeted Neville and locked him outside of the Gryffindor common room when there's an apparent psycho killer, and humiliated him infront of everyone! But we all never see that because we are in Harry's POV, she favours himâshe only took points and she was apparently fair because Harry's BIASED!!! Just like how all Slytherins are portrayed because of Hagrid and Ron!!! She favours Gryffindor just like how Severus favours Slytherin, except she takes big points away (which is from Gryffindors she doesn't like) and when she's infront of the professors!
Severus is a morally grey character, and Regulus? We basically time skipped him, we skipped all of the bad things he has done while we never skipped Severus's, that's why you don't have a bad opinion about him, but really! In the Marauders timeline, Regulus was a Voldemort fanboy while Severus literally had stuff happening.
This is why you don't hate James Potter, you guys basically skipped HIS timeline and moved to Harry's, which Severus is portrayed to be this big bad bully until DH! And that's why Harry "Snape's #1 Biggest Hater" Potter's vision changed to "Snape's #1 Biggest Defender", just like how his vision changed from "My father is a great man" to "I fucking hate my own father".
But you guys are so deep into these fanfics like CR (Crimson Rivers) or ATYD (All the Young Dudes) that you all forget about canon lore! He physically assaulted, sexually assaulted, and mentally exhausted Severus! We're not throwing the SA word around, because lets think of this:
âââ
Lily let out a stream of mixed swearwords and hexes, but her wand being ten feet away, nothing happened.
âWash out your mouth,â said James coldly. âScourgify!â
Pink soap bubbles streamed from Lilyâs mouth at once; the froth was covering her lips, making her gag, choking her â
âLeave her ALONE!â
James and Sirius looked around. Jamesâs free hand jumped to his hair again.
It was one of the boys from the lake edge. He had black hair that fell to his shoulders and startlingly onyx eyes.
âAll right, Snape?â said James, and the tone of his voice was suddenly pleasant, deeper, more mature.
âLeave her alone,â Severus repeated. He was looking at James with every sign of great dislike. âWhatâs she done to you?â
âWell,â said James, appearing to deliberate the point, âitâs more the fact that she exists, if you know what I mean...â
Many of the surrounding watchers laughed, Sirius and Wormtail included, but Lupin, still apparently intent on his book, didnât, and neither did Severus.
âYou think youâre funny,â he said coldly. âBut youâre just an arrogant, bullying toerag, Potter. Leave her alone."
Behind her, the Impediment Jinx was wearing off. Lily was beginning to inch toward her fallen wand, spitting out soapsuds as he crawled.
âBad luck, Prongs,â said Sirius briskly, turning back to Evans. âOY!â
But too late; Lily had directed her wand straight at James; there was a flash of light and a gash appeared on the side of Jamesâs face, spattering his robes with blood.
James whirled about; a second flash of light later, Lily was hanging upside down in the air, her robes falling over her head to reveal skinny legs and a skirt.
Many people in the small crowd watching cheered. Sirius, James, and Wormtail roared with laughter. Severus, whose furious expression had twitched for an instant as though he was going to smile, said, âLet her down!â
âCertainly,â said James and he jerked his wand upward. Evans fell into a crumpled heap on the ground.
Disentangling herself from her robes, she got quickly to her feet, wand up, but Sirius said, âPetrificus Totalus!â and Lily keeled over again at once, rigid as a board.
âLEAVE HER ALONE!â Severus shouted. He had his own wand out now. James and Sirius eyed it warily.
âAh, Snape, donât make me hex you,â said James earnestly.
âTake the curse off her, then!â
James sighed deeply, then turned to Lily and muttered the countercurse.
âThere you go,â he said, as Lily struggled to her feet again, âyouâre lucky Snape was here, Evans ââ
âI donât need help from filthy little Mudbloods like him!" (Severus is canonically a Mudblood because he has dirty bloodâMuggle blood)
Severus blinked.
âFine,â he said coolly. âI wonât bother in future. And Iâd wash your skirt if I were you, Evans.â
âApologize to Snape!â James roared at Evans, his wand pointed threateningly at her.
âI donât want you to make her apologize,â Severus shouted, rounding on James. âYouâre as bad as she is.â
âWhat?â yelped James. âIâd NEVER call you a â you-know-what!â
â[...], walking down corridors and hexing anyone who annoys you just because you can â Iâm surprised your broomstick can get off the ground with that fat head on it. You make me SICK.â
He turned on his heel and hurried away.
âSnape!â James shouted after him, âHey, SNAPE!â But he didnât look back.
âWhat is it with him?â said James, trying and failing to look as though this was a throwaway question of no real importance to him.
âReading between the lines, Iâd say he thinks youâre a bit conceited, mate,â said Sirius.
âRight,â said James, who looked furious now, âright ââ
There was another flash of light, and Evans was once again hanging upside down in the air.
âWho wants to see me take off Evansâs skirt?â
âââ
Now, let's see if this isn't messed up. This is humiliating! Why did Severus leave his female best friend when she was being PA'd and SA'd by a male! Why did he take out his wand too late? Why is he such a coward?
Gender roles do matter in this context, no matter if Severus considers this as SA or not, it's SA and he got his pants stripped down, but it doesn't matter, he's a boy isn't he?
If this was Lily, everyone would care, but no! It's greasy, slimy, old Snape, and he's a boy.
Sirius nor James used dark spells, but they were pretty much using hexes so it doesn't matterâthey are basically baby DE bullies but Gryffindors.
Stop attacking Severus and start thinking about this, because he was just a boy.
A lot of people (Not all) cared for Harry when Myrtle basically tried to SA him, why not Severus? He was stripped infront of the whole school! (Not invalidating Harry's trauma), this is just so messed up.

olderbfyandere!mike schmidt
surprise, bitches!!! im giving yall a lil taste of some more writing. im not really on hiatus (obvi, i post every 5 minutes) but i've been sooooo busy that i haven't been able to post half as much. with that being said, here are some more in depth headcanons ab yandere!mike. :p could not have done this without @futturmand literally helping me (coming up w/) most of these. thank u bae.
warnings: drugging, violence, sex, daddy kink, abusive tendencies
------------------
olderbfyandere!mike schmidt was kinda an asshole. to his coworkers, random customers at the mall, anybody who came too close to you, and yes, even sometimes to you. he was the kind of guy who had a semi-permanent grimace on his face. the corners of his mouth would turn into smiles typically only when he was with abby or you two were alone and he could let his guard down. of course, even then, the moment you caught an attitude, that grimace would appear right back on his face. his demeanor was typically gruff. he was the kind of guy most people didn't want to mess with. this meant any male coworkers around you would be tested their fate to even glance at you the wrong way and god forbid mike saw one of them brush something off of your shoulder. that would truly be the end of them.
olderbfyandere!mike schmidt is very obsessive over safety. after losing garrett, he has this urge to do nothing but to protect. this means that mike is the type of guy to want your location at all times. not only that, but he wants to know what you're doing, who you're with, and what time you'll be home. he expects a text when you leave, a text when you get there, an hourly check-in, then a text on your way home. it brings him a sense of peace, knowing where you are. he watches life360 obsessively when you're not in his sight, watching your little bubble move through wherever you may be. he's constantly checking the speed of the car you're in, occasionally stalking your friend's instagram stories to see where you are. he's overprotective to the extent that it can be overbearing, but at the end of the day it's endearing knowing he cares that much.
olderbfyandere!mike schmidt uses the fact that you're younger than him to manipulate you. he's less about violence or anything physical and instead uses his words. he will constantly remind you how helpless you are without him, how he has so much more life experience than you. he'll point out randomly when you mention not knowing how to do something, saying something like, "see, babydoll, where would you be without me? that's right, nowhere. you need me to take care of you." he's also the kind of guy to eventually make you financially dependent on him if he could ever afford it. he would never put you in that spot until he was comfortable enough to do so, though, meaning it might be a loooong time before that ever happened.
olderbfyandere!mike schmidt treats you less like a partner and more like a little sibling, kinda like he treats abby. as strange as it is, he also feels a paternal instinct to protect you. it comes from his deep-rooted feelings of abandonment. he lost garrett, his mom, his dad, and sometimes he feels like abby hates him. he loves that you listen to him, that he can command you to do something and you'd be so good for him. he absolutely adores being able to control different aspects of your life, making you completely reliant on him. it makes him feel special and needed, which he hasn't felt in a very long time. he loves nothing more than when he gets to scold you almost like a parent, your eyes falling to the ground, that adorable wounded puppy look he loves so much taking over your face.
olderbfyandere!mike schmidt is incredibly clingy and touch starved. he wants to have a hand on you 24/7. forget having personal space, because you are not getting it with him. he'd follow you around, watching you everywhere you'd go. his hands would grip onto your hips so tightly sometimes it'd feel like they were glued to them. he'd always have his arms around you, kissing at your neck, nipping in a way you felt shouldn't be shown in public. mike didn't care, he wanted everyone to know you belonged to him in every single way. he controlled you, and if he wanted to embarrass you and turn your face red by leaving purple marks on your neck in the middle of a shopping plaza, then so be it. you would take it or be punished.
olderbfyandere!mike schmidt who of course uses his sleeping pills on you when you're being a little brat. he isn't violent with you for the most part except for the rare occasion when he will hold you down onto the bed until you'll listen, but otherwise he opts for something simpler. when you're being a little too frustrating for him, going against his every command or you're not feeling like being held, mike will simply crush up his sleeping pills, slip them into your water. he's careful with you once you doze off, never abusing you in any way. all he will do is tuck you into your shared bed and hold your body in his arms, whispering sweet nothings as you're off in your own sweetly drugged up world.
olderbfyandere!mike schmidt would most definitely have a thing for being called daddy. sorry guys, it had to be said. hot take, i guess. considering he did want to protect you so thoroughly, he loved when you'd call him daddy. it made him feel like your protector, like you knew he was the one that did everything for you. it was so crazy how such a simple word could change his whole day. he loved hearing it fall out of your lips as he'd brush through your hair or wash your body off in the shower. "thank you, daddy," you'd hum and he'd grin ear to ear. "you're welcome, babydoll," he'd always say, pressing a kiss to your forehead.

This is probably small in the grand scheme of things, but how did Emilie being noble play any impact in the story at all?
I mean, I'd get it if it was just a small detail to help deepen Emilie's character, but why nobility of all things? I don't know, from what I'm seeing so far, the whole "Emilie renounced her noble title" shtick just feels worthless if it's not going to impact the story or add depth to Emilie's character (like maybe upbringing or personal values?).
I don't know. Like everything else, the noble part just feels shallow and means nothing to the story, especially for a character like Emilie, who is the plot device for the whole show. Any detail about her, like her personality and life story, is supposed to influence the story and characters one way or another, namely Hawkmoth since she's his driving force.
So what was the point?
For context, this ask is about FĂ©lix's play which says that Emilie gave up her title to be with Gabriel. I'm gonna give a slightly larger section of the transcript of the play for full context, but the relevant but is at the end of the last paragraph:
Félix: The king and queen's twins grew up, each day as different in heart as they were similar in body. The firstborn, curious and brazen, despised life at court and escaped at every opportunity. The younger daughter, well-behaved and respectful, did everything she could to please her parents, and stayed quietly in the castle. Félix: (as Mr. Graham de Vanily) Oh, my queen. Did we entrust our legacy to the right princess? Kagami: (as Mrs. Graham de Vanily) She will fall in line, eventually. Félix: Confident that she would settle down as she matured, the king and queen allowed the curious princess to leave to study beyond the sea in another kingdom. There, she immediately found true love in a humble tailor. Félix: The tailor was making clothes so magnificent that they revealed the beauty of the soul of anyone who wore them. Although it made her parents furious, the curious princess gave up her rank, her wealth and her kingdom to live a bohemian life with the tailor.
Story wise, I have no idea why any of this was added since it adds nothing to canon. It's not like this finally explains why Gabriel and Emilie are poor while Amelie is wealthy. Along similar lines, it's not like Amelie's title has ever mattered. Prior to this play, I don't think that we even knew that she had a title or that she was the younger sister. The play is all about explaining things that we never had reasons to question in the first place.
My best guess as to why the writers wrote this pointless backstory is that they wanted to make Emilie seem even more pure and perfect so they went with the tired old trope of a rich girl giving up material things for the sake of love and art because good pure women don't care about material things! Only nasty, shallow women care about money. (Way to play into sexist tropes, guys.)
There may also be cultural elements at play here given that France doesn't have the greatest history with nobility, so giving up a noble title may be seen as good and pure to a French writer, but I don't know enough about French culture to say that with any certainty. If anyone who reads this blog is French and would like to chime in, then feel free!
While we're on the topic of the play, I wanted to point out that the above quoted passage is why I say that the Graham de Vanily parents can be as kind or as abusive as you'd like to make them. It's incredibly vague and you can read into it whatever you want to read into it. Were they good loving parents who were just upset about their daughter living in poverty or were they miserable controlling classist who Emilie fled England to get away from? It's up to you because you can get both reads from this. The play commits to almost nothing of value. Politicians could take lessons from this impressive level of noncommittal writing.
A better version of the play would have focused on things that actually matter to canon like the details of finding the miraculous and/or Emilie learning she's sick, but you could only have those details if they were coming from Nathalie or Gabriel. FĂ©lix is a terrible choice for a character to tell us the show's backstory because he knows so little of it, thus the play focusing on his largely pointless backstory.
#blckwhtepersona#ml writing critical#ml writing salt#Side note but looking up transcripts for this seasons is a total nightmare#The episode names are so confusing I keep thinking the play was in âRevelationâ but it's actually âRepresentationâ#Whoever came up with the names for this season is at the top of my shit list

Different Side of the Track || 50's Greaser!Logan smut

a/n: It's my birthday! So to celebrate I wrote this fic because I couldn't get the idea out of my head and god he's hot. Also I didn't really try to do proper 50's talk because I'm lazy and I cannot handle all the research jaldfk;s. This ended up a little angstier than normal, as my fics usually do lol. The ending isn't my favorite but I tried im sorry asdfjkl. Okay anyways I really hope you like it!
You truly hated this town. College was a breath of fresh air and while it wasnât always easy, it was better than home. You got your degree, proudest day of your life. Even if your parents didnât show up. Even if you had to smile in the picture by yourself, watching everyone else celebrate with their families. Your parents never understood your want to go to college.
You thought theyâd be proud but if anything they were ashamed. They think that a woman pursuing higher education was unladylike. That a woman's place was to stay at home and take care of the kids. They were embarrassed of you, refused to acknowledge any of your achievements.
You wished you could have stayed in your college town but then you got the letter. Your grandmother had passed and you needed to come home. You were heartbroken. Your grandmother was the only one to support you, and helped you when you worked countless hours at the diner to pay for it. She celebrated when the acceptance letter came in and she gave you the biggest hug when you left.
Coming home was a no-brainer, needing to be here for her funeral but now youâre stuck at home with your parents and life is miserable. You were counting down the days until you could get out of here again. You spent as much time as you could out of the house.
Going to work, dreaming of another life. Doing literally anything you could to stay out and away from your parents. Thatâs how you found yourself here. Taking midnight shifts at the diner to stare at the man sitting at the counter.
Logan. It was sewed onto the patch on his jumpsuit. You donât even know his last name but you do know that you want to know everything about him. He worked at the mechanic shop right across the street. He was dark, brooding, mysterious. He didnât talk to anyone. Just ordered one black coffee and sat there with the paper. This was a small town and you had never seen or heard of him before.
âYouâll catch flies if you donât shut your mouth there pumpkin.â You feel a hand on your jaw and you swat it away. Betty, your coworker was grinning like a madwoman. She was a sweet old lady who has worked at this diner for longer than youâve been alive.
âOh hush.â You look down at your order sheet. Sketches of your patrons fill the empty sheets. Mostly drawings of Logan.
âI donât blame you sweetheart, heâs a dreamboat if Iâve ever seen one.â She sighs dreamily as she looks at him.
âWho is he?â
âNot sure, rolled into town one day. Plenty of rumors, though, say that he was an army guy. Some say that heâs running from the law.â You gasp at the idea.
He couldnât be a convict could he? Youâd never met anyone like that. Though, you feel yourself grow curious instead of fearful. Your whole life you lived in the perfect world. Perfect family with a lot of money and a perfect reputation to uphold. You got the perfect grades, had the perfect friends and still your life felt anything but perfect. You craved something more, needed it. You couldnât live the rest of your life as someone's housewife. That wasnât your dream.
âLooks like he needs a refill..â Betty nudges your arm and pushes you forward. You eye the apple pie sitting in the case and steal a slice. No better way to get a man to talk than give him pie right? Clearing your throat you head over and put on a smile.
âHi Logan.â He looks up from the paper with his usual stony face. A beat passes and he doesnât speak.
âThis is for you, on the house.â You place the pie down in front of him. You shift nervously in your spot as you pour coffee into his cup. Heâs never told you his name, does he think youâre a freak or something?
âItâs on your uniform, you know. Your name.â You wince at how horribly awkward this feels. He looks down.
âThat supposed to be me?â He grunts out. You tilt your head in confusion before following his gaze. Your guest checks with drawings all over them. Drawings of Logan. You slam your hands down and stuff them in your pocket.
âNo! I mean, yes but itâs nothing. Just drawings I. Iâm sorry.â Logan just looks at you and you walk off in shame.
Mentally kicking yourself as you sulk back to the kitchen. Betty takes over serving him as you silently wait on the remaining people. By the time your shift is over your back aches and youâre still replaying that moment in your head.
âSee you tomorrow Betty!â You say as you put on your coat.
âHold on dear, this is for you.â She hands you a napkin and winks. Confused, you open it up to see messy handwriting.Â
Thanks for the pie doll
-Logan
Logan has come by every night since then. Ordering one black coffee and you sneak him whatever pie is left. Sometimes itâs apple, other days itâs pecan. Todayâs pie is pumpkin. Just in time for the fall season. Heâs still a man of few words but heâs always polite. Pays and says thank you with that handsome voice of his. Youâve gathered some information on him. Mostly from the town gossip.
The group of boys, greasers who would often come by and cause a ruckus, idolized him. He drove a motorcycle, fixed cars, and smoked like there was no tomorrow. In some weird way heâs become their parental figure. Not that he really gave a shit but he worked with them at the shop and he took care of them when he needed to. He strolled in again today. This time he looks at you and throws you a wink. Itâs a little routine the two of you have now. Not much talking but itâs nice. You think youâll be able to get him to open up soon enough.
âThanks doll.â Logan says as he sits on the worn stool. You hand him his coffee and pie, already prepared just the way he likes it.
âSo, do I get to know your last name yet?â He smirks and takes a sip of his coffee.
âHow about you fetch me a napkin first. Then Iâll think about it.â You roll your eyes playfully and he smiles. The door jingles and you hear the sound of obnoxious laughing. You look up to see the jerkiest looking boys youâve ever seen. They wore letterman jackets that seemed too small and talked too loud.
One of the boys, a blonde guy who seemed vaguely familiar whistles at you. You hold back a scoff as you walk over to their table. Theyâre looking you up and down with a gaze that makes you shiver. Absolute jerks.
âHey sweetheart, why donât you be a good girl and get us some milkshakes.â You clench your jaw as you jot down their order.
It dawns on you that you know exactly who that guy is. David Scott. He was in your high school class. Quarterback, the popular guy every girl in school wanted, and the worst human being youâve ever met. He was nothing but a no good bully. It seems fitting heâs never truly moved on from this town as he was dumber than a bag of rocks. Logan catches your eyes as you head back to the counter. Preparing their order and trying to tune out their annoyingly loud voices. Before you head back with their order you top off Loganâs coffee.
âYou know drinking this much caffeine canât be good for you.â You say.
âAnd yet youâre still serving me.â He shoots back. You shrug your shoulders and smile, heâs got you there.
âHey! You done serving grandpa over there.â Logan growls and his grip tightens on his cup.
âIgnore them, theyâre nothing but a bunch of idiots.â You say under your breath. You bring the tray of drink over and set them down.
âAnything else?â You ask through gritted teeth.
âNope.â David whispers something to his friend before moving his hand and spilling his shake all over you and the floor. His friends burst out laughing and you bend down to clean up the mess. Counting down the seconds until they leave. Youâre too focused on cleaning to hear David whisper to his friend.
âWatch this.â You hear the stool fall and suddenly youâre pushed to the ground.
âGet off me!â You turn around and see Logan holding David by the collar of his shirt. Teeth bared and a dangerous look in his eyes.
âLogan!â You scramble to your feet as he shoves David into the booth.
âThink youâre funny bub? Youâre lucky sheâs here or Iâd beat you to a pulp.â He growls, eyeing his friends who are now cowering in fear. You stand stunned as Logan seems to command the room.
âIâll give you ten seconds to scram or Iâll make good on my promise.â He rolls up the sleeves of his jumpsuit and grins. Youâve never seen a group of boys in so much panic.
âAnd donât forget to pay.â Logan says with a smirk. They throw down more than enough money and bolt out the door.
âThank you, you didnât have to do that.â You say softly as Logan seems to calm down.
âFuckinâ idiots.â He shakes his head and gently pushes you away from the mess.
âBroken glass doll, gotta be careful.â Silently the two of you clean up the mess, him scooping up the glass and you cleaning the table.
You watch carefully as he handles the glass, watching to make sure he doesnât cut himself. You see a piece of glass slice his hand and you hurry to the back to get a band aid. However when you come back the cut is gone, maybe it was just strawberry? The clock strikes 4am and the new waitress comes through the door, relieving you of your duties. He waits for you to clock out and walks you out the door.
âThank you again Logan.â He just shrugs and lights a cigarette.
âLet me walk you home.â He offers and you accept. The walk is silent as you head to your home. You eye his cigarette and he notices. He holds it out to you and you take it. Taking a puff and immediately coughing it back up. Logan chuckles as he takes it back.
âNever smoked before?â You shake your head and he just smiles. Figures.
Youâre much too sweet to have done anything bad. Just looking at the houses around him he knows that youâre as high society as they come. When you reach your house Logan stands on the sidewalk, watching as you walk up the driveway. You look at your door and then turn around to hurry back to Logan. Leaning in you kiss his cheek and he almost drops his cigarette.
âBye Logan.â You bite your lip as you slowly walk back. As you walk through the door you hear him call to you.
âHowlett, my last name is Howlett.âÂ
Your sweet night with Logan turned sour the minute you woke up. Your parents were down at the breakfast table. Scowling with disappointed looks on their face. Oh great what else is new.
âYou need to quit.â Your dad says and you laugh.
âWhat?â
âDo you know how embarrassing it is for us to tell people youâre working at a diner? You come home smelling like smoke? Itâs insulting the family!â Your mother hisses and you feel tears well up in your eyes. You knew they were cruel but to hear those words from your own mother. It hurt.
âI am an adult, I donât have to listen to you anymore.â
âAs long as youâre living here you do. Now go down and tell them or I will.â Your father stands and stares you down. You feel so fucking helpless. Itâs true. Youâre stuck here and the money youâve saved up isnât enough to get out of here just yet.
You storm out of the house, letting the tears fall once youâre out of their view. The walk to the diner is miserable. You donât want to quit, you like your job. Tears fall as you tell your manager, apologizing and leaving with your tail tucked between your legs. You hated this. You longed to be free and now youâre trapped at home.
Sitting on a bench outside of the diner you let yourself cry. Not wanting your parents to see any sign of weakness from you.
âHey, everything okay doll?â You look up and see a blurry Logan from your watery eyes. Heâs got grease and oil on his face and suit. Wiping his hands with a rag. You shake your head and Logan sits next to you.
âMy parents made me quit.â He scoffs in disbelief.
Oh Logan knows all about your father. He wasnât sure until last night but once he saw your house he knew exactly who your family was. Flaunting their money and status to spit on those lower than them. He serviced your fathers car a few times. Adding pointless upgrades. On the bright side he charges him double and your father doesnât even bat an eye.
âThatâs bullshit.â Logan says angrily. Youâve told him about your life. How disrespectful your parents are. How stupid they can be, anyone should be proud of their daughter getting a degree but they think itâs shameful. Youâre smart, pretty, a real perfect girl.
âI donât know what to do.â You say in such a defeated tone.
âYou can always spend time at my work, donât know if itâs the kind of place youâre used to hanging around but-â He gets cut off as you lunge at him. Hugging him tightly as you seek comfort in his arms. He freezes but slowly places his arms around you. Your perfectly crisp and clean dress was now dirty by his hands but you donât care.
âI owe you so much Logan, youâve been a real life saver.â You donât want to let go. Heâs toned, even with the jumpsuit over him. Heâs strong and his arms are so warm and welcoming.
âDonât worry about it doll, canât stand to see a pretty girl like you so upset.â You lean up and kiss his cheek again. He grins as you scoot closer to him. Suddenly he pushes you back. Youâre confused until you see your father pulling up next to the diner. Oh god did he see anything?
âYou quit?â He asks, glaring at the dirt on your dress.
âYes. I quit.â You say unhappily but he doesnât care. He shifts his eyes to Logan.
âWhat happened there?â He says accusingly, you know your father wouldnât hesitate to threaten Logan despite Logan being much stronger. Itâs the egotistical nature of him.
âShe fell, I caught her.â Logan lies so easily. Your father hums and drops it to your relief.
âI need you to look at my car tomorrow, somethingâs wrong with the brakes.â
âGot it.â Logan says casually and you can see your father roll his eyes. He drives off leaving the two of you on the bench.
âSay, why donât you come by with your father tomorrow. Iâd be happy to show you a few thingsâ Logan offers, a flirty tone to his voice.
He walks off before you can respond, needing to get back to work. You throw the idea around in your head as you head back home. Thereâs no denying that Logan is hot. Really hot. Heâs everything your parents hate. Lower class, older, doesnât care about their status. It would drive them insane if you started to hang around a guy like him.
Though you donât want to just use him to get back at your parents. You really do like him. Itâs a win win in your head. Smiling to yourself you already start to pick out your outfit for tomorrow.
Ready to cause a little chaos.Â
Your father didnât understand why you wanted to come with him but you gave him so stupid excuse and he bought it. Your father pulled the car in and threw the keys at Logan. You resisted the urge to roll your eyes but Logan does it for you. Despite Logan being much more knowledgeable about cars, your father still talks down to him. Itâs rude and classist and you hate it.
âIâd like to stay, you know, make sure nothing goes wrong.â Your father scoffs but leaves you be.
âHeâs real lucky I donât punch his lights out.â Logan mutters as he pops the hood of his car.
âIâm really sorry, you donât deserve that.â Logan shrugs. Heâs used to it by this point.
âDonât worry your pretty head about me.â He leans over and kisses your cheek.
He wipes off a seat for you to sit on and you watch him work. Thereâs something about the way he moves thatâs justâŠattractive. His muscles strain in his jumpsuit, sweat drips down his face. And the noises, god the noises. The grunts when he moves something heavy. Then he does the unthinkable. He unzips his jumpsuit, taking off the top half and tying it around his waist. Leaving him in just a white tank top.
Now you really have a show. You donât know how much time has passed and you donât care. Slowly the garage empties as people head to lunch until itâs just you and Logan. Logan can feel your eyes on him. In fact he loves it. Your cute face is staring at him like a piece of meat. He can see you shift on the leather stool. He can smell how bad you want him. Itâs desperate, almost pathetic how badly you want him. He stands up, making sure to flex his arms as he sets down the wrench.Â
âYou alright doll, you look a little hot?â Logan feigns concern as he steps closer to you. Placing his hands on the workshop table. Caging you in.
âIâm okay.â You eye his chest shamelessly, eyes traveling down to the bulge in his suit.
âYeah? I donât knowâŠâ He slowly takes your sweater off. Leaving your arms bare and your cleavage on show for him.
âIâm not sweet doll, not gonna treat you like a good girl.â He growls in your ear and you whimper. Oh you need him bad.
âIâll break a sweet thing like you, but something tells me you want that.â You grab his face and smash your lips to his. Itâs messy and dirty, teeth knocking against each other as you fight for dominance. Logan slips his hands under your dress, lifting you up to the workbench and stepping in between your legs. Your hands are locked in his hair. Tugging hard as he deepens the kiss. He groans into your mouth. His hands rip your dress at the top. You gasp as his lips trail down your neck leaving sloppy wet kisses until he reaches your boobs.
âFuck.â He squeezes your chest roughly, purring at the feeling of them in his hands.
âSo cute.â He says with a wink as he leans down and bites your nipples roughly. He promised he wouldnât be nice and he meant it. He shamelessly grinds his bulge against your wet panties.
âDirty girl, letting a no good mechanic touch you like this. What would your daddy say hm?â He taunts as his hands move to slip up your dress. Pulling your panties down and stuffing them in his pocket.
âWho fucking cares?â You spit out as you grind your hips. Soaking his suit with how wet heâs made you.
âOh, pretty girls got a mouth on her.â
âJust hurry up!â You whine as you slip your hands under his tank top.
Lifting it over his head so you could get the view of his muscular body. He unties his jumpsuit and yanks it down, letting his hard cock free. To your surprise he picks you up and brings you to your dads car.
âTurn around.â He lifts your dress up and bends you over the hood of the car. His hands run across your ass, squeezing and admiring the view as he slowly grinds his cock along it. The tip of his dick slides in and you moan.
âYeah, feels good doesnât it doll.â He says cockily as he renders you utterly speechless.
The stretch is unbelievably amazing as he bottoms out. You whine as you feel every vein, every twitch of his cock inside of you. Heâs so big. Everything about him is big. His presence, his arms, his cock. He was just big. He barely gives you anytime to adjust before fucking hard into you. Your hands claw for anything to hold onto. The hood of the car is too slippery so Logan just pins your arms behind your back instead.
âNaughty, naughty girl.â Logan huffs as he leans down to bite your ear. His pace is relentless. Pounding the words right out of you.
âLetting me fuck you on your daddies car.â He puff his chest out proudly. Heâs tearing you apart on your asshole fathers car. Making you moan his name as he desecrates his car.
âFeels so good Logan. Oh god!â His cock hitting that perfect spot in you every time. Over and over. Itâs unrelenting. You involuntarily shift your hips. The pleasure becomes overwhelming.
âWhere are you going doll? Iâm not done with you yet.â He lets go of your hands and grabs your hips, pulling you back on his cock with a bruising grip.
âDonât stop, please donât stop.â You beg wildly as you move your hips back to meet his thrusts.
âNot planning on it.â He tilts his head back in pleasure as he pounds into you. He feels you clenching tightly around him. Your legs are quivering under him. Thereâs grease smudged all over your body, your face.
You catch a glimpse of yourself in the reflection of the windshield. Youâre completely disheveled, hair a mess. Makeup smeared and clothes torn. You look absolutely filthy and you love it. You can see Loganâs abs flexing as he thrusts his hips. His hands run up your sides. Taking you by the shoulders to slam you back on his cock. A weak cry leaves your throat with every thrust. Finally you break. A desperate, strangled moan as your body quakes. Shaking and rocking you right to your core.
âThatâs it doll, Iâve got you.â He leans down and nudges his nose into your neck. Kissing softly as his thrusts slow just for a moment. Letting you breathe. Youâve never felt more happy in your life.
Logan kisses the side of your head as his hips grow sloppy. Chasing his release and savoring the feeling of your tight pussy squeezing him. With a loud groan he pulls out and finishes on your ass. Your eyes close as your body feels like it's melting. You can barely stand. Logan wipes you down with a clean rag, loving how fucked you appear to be.Â
âI got you.â He gently picks you up and brings you to a bench. Laying his clean jacket over you as you will your legs to stop shaking.
âYou alright?â Heâs got a devilish grin on his face as he redresses himself. Somehow itâs like heâs back to normal while youâre wrecked.
âPerfect, oh my god youâre amazing.â You lean back into the bench and sigh happily.
âWhat the hell is going on here?!â You shoot up and see your father storming towards you angrily. Youâre a mess and you donât think Logan can lie his way out of this one. Heâs angry. Really angry.
âYou are nothing but a disappointment and you have been ever since you were born! A disgrace to the whole family! To the town! Doing such horrible things with the likes of him.â He snarls as he points at Logan. Youâre stunned into silence.
âI have the right mind to never let you out of the house again you ungrateful little-â
Logan steps in front of him and he tries to hit Logan right in the face but fails miserably. You gasp as Logan pushes him against his car. You watch as boney claws shoot from his hands. Your father squirms in fear as the tips of his sharp claws grow closer to his neck.
âShut the fuck up.â Logan growls.
âYouâre a real fucking dick and a sorry excuse for a father. If I ever see you come near her again Iâll fucking kill you.â He lets go of your father and watches as he runs away. Yelling about mutant freaks. Logan turns back to you, a cold look settling on his face when he sees your face. Now you know his secret.
âYouâre a mutant.â You say in awe. To his shock you reach out for him instead of running away.
âI am.â You admire the claws, how amazing.
âBeautiful.â His mouth gapes open as you pull him closer.
For once someone is looking at him like heâs normal, like heâs not a freak of nature. He longs for this but he knows your dad wonât go down quietly. Heâll tell the whole town.
âLook doll, youâre too good for this town. Youâre too good for me.â He brushes your cheek softly.
âI canât stay here anymore and you need to go home. Pretend you never met me. Youâre a smart girl and you have a bright future ahead of you.â Logan takes his hand away and walks away.
âLogan!â You throw off his jacket, you're limping slightly but you refuse to let him go. Heâs quick on his feet, already shedding his work clothes for his normal ones. A leather jacket thrown over his tank top. His motorcycle is out back. Heâs got a backpack already packed and ready to go. Like he was waiting for this moment to happen.
âTake me with you!â You stand in front of his bike.
âWhat?â He asks in disbelief.
âPlease, I hate this town. I have money saved. I can help but please donât leave me.â You move closer to him, taking his hand in yours.
âI canât live like this anymore, Logan. Iâd give it all up to be with youâ
âI canât let you do that.â
âItâs not your choice. Itâs mine so please, take me with you.â He wants to say no. To leave you here. It would break your heart and his but itâs what's best. But a part of him wants to be selfish. He could protect you, he could take care of you. But he fears youâd regret it eventually.
Heâs overthinking and you can tell. You grab his jacket and kiss him gently. He groans as he slips his arms around you.
âPlease.â You beg softly.
âI canât promise you the life youâre used to.â He warns but his resolve is slipping.
âI donât care.â He sighs and kisses you again. Itâs becoming addicting. Youâre completely addicting.
âHop on doll,â He throws his leg over the bike and waits.
You waste no time jumping on behind him. Wrapping your arms around his waist as he revs his motorcycle. You lean into him and smile. He stops so you could say goodbye to Betty and grab a bag of clothes. He waited at the door, a grin on his face as his claws were proudly shown off to your parents.
Then he drives. Away from your horrible family and the horrible town. Your future is uncertain but with Logan, youâre confident things will work out.
Heâs all you need.Â
