'Get some rest, my child' | Art Recreation

I finished this piece on February 21, 2022

I can't believe I made this T^T

During this time (and all the time), I was just doing character illustrations but I wanted to challenge myself to draw something else. I saw a moon painting done by @josie_wren on Instagram and got inspired to paint something similar.

Although I want to write a whole paragraph of critique on the piece, it's not healthy for my perfectionist ass. Instead, I'd like to say that I am proud of my 16 year old self for pushing herself to do something that is out of her comfort zone.

Finally Landing On The Prize. A Green-veined White butterfly lands on a beautiful pink flower. These large white butterflies are notoriously difficult to photograph as they don't often tend to land and when they do it's very quick before they're off on the wing again. To add to this you have to follow them closely and they're quick, plus the times between them landing can be widespread. On this occasion, I managed to sneak up on this little beauty while it was feeding and I managed to grab this photo. My only annoyance was that I couldn't find an angle that lit the butterfly from the front.
