"Horrendous": Black Men Tortured By White Mississippi Police “Goon Squad” React to Guilty Pleas
Six white former police officers in Mississippi who called themselves the "Goon Squad" have pleaded guilty to raiding a home on false drug charges and torturing two Black men while yelling racist slurs at them, and then trying to cover it up.
We speak with Michael Corey Jenkins and Eddie Terrell Parker about how, on January 24, six deputies in Braxton, Mississippi, raided the home they were staying in and attacked them, and how they are speaking out to demand justice.
Meanwhile, the deputies have been linked to at least four violent attacks on Black men since 2019, in which two of the men died.
We also speak with civil rights attorney Malik Shabazz, who is representing Jenkins and Parker in a federal lawsuit against the Rankin County Sheriff's Department. Shabazz asserts that the majority-white Rankin County, which is 20 miles away from majority-Black Jackson, Mississippi, is "infested with white supremacists" who "have decided 'Rankin County is for whites'" and seek to enforce it through state-sanctioned violence and torture, overseen and covered up by Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey.
"We demand that Bryan Bailey step down," says Shabazz. Parker adds, "We want justice for everyone that has gone through this with Rankin County."

in the span of like 5.5 seasons we’ve gone from “this show is queerbaiting because two dudes are very best friends and spend a lot of time together but they aren’t kissing” to “this show is queerbaiting because the bisexual character who always has been and always will be bi is no longer dating a man” and i’m just like…are people getting a different edit of the show than i am

sometimes when talking to cis white women i’m just like. completely floored by what a warped perception of privilege and oppression they have. i was talking to a white cis woman i’d just met, right after the emergency order went public in missouri restricting gender affirming care for trans missourians of all ages, and we were just casually talking about clothes. i mentioned that i often have a hard time finding men’s clothes that fit, and she responded “well at least you have the privilege of pockets now.” i laughed, thinking she was joking, but instead she doubled down and insisted that having larger pockets in my pants was a legitimate societal privilege because it meant i didn't have to spend money on purses. and again, this was after the missouri attorney general had pushed through emergency legislation targeting trans missourians, legislation that will absolutely kill trans people.
i've also had cis white women tell me i'm privileged because apparently they thought that as a trans man all i'd have to do to get sterilized is just say 'pretty please' and any doctor would immediately approve a hysterectomy. they told me that "cis women have to fight for the right to have sterilization surgery, but trans men don't because it'll just get covered under gender affirming care." which is just so absolutely fucking wild on so many levels. 1. trans men do regularly have to fight for the right to get sterilized, and our fertility is frequently used as an excuse not to provide us any sort of gender affirming care at all. it's one of the most common arguments republicans all over the country have been using in order to ban gender affirming care. 2. it's incredibly common for sterilization to be pushed onto people of color and disabled people, and even some trans people.
and idk i feel like that very much contributes to this attitude among cis queer women that trans men just have it so easy, because their perception of oppression is based entirely in their experience as a cis white woman, so if someone doesn't experience oppression exactly like they do then clearly they're not experiencing Real Oppression. idk it's just wild.

People who act like Seven of Nine is a naive child being taken advantage of when it comes to c/7 but not j/7 hmm...examine that.
#It's also a pet peeve of mine (not related to the racism of the above treatment of Chakotay) when people treat Kes as if she's a child#referring to the Elogium as like LITERAL puberty as if she was a pre-pubescent before - please let me know if I'm missing something#but isn't the Elogium like literally just the Pon Farr but since the Ocampa have a lifespan of 5-8 years they can only do it once?#I mean I know it's just because people don't like Neelix but it feels like a terrible disservice to Kes' character to infantilize her#just for the sake of making Neelix look worse - he's already not a good boyfriend to her you don't need to pretend he's a predator#I don't like it - I don't like when it feels like people are taking some agency(?) or like...basically treating these grown women like#they're children in order to make a situation seem worse. Why not just engage with the 'text' itself?#Kes was a grown [alien] woman in a bad relationship - you don't need to make her a child#AND IN THE CASE of Chakotay/Seven - HEEEEY. HEY. WHY do you think Chakotay is some big bad predator if he expresses#interest in Seven of Nine but beautiful white Janeway isn't if you imagine her doing the same???????????#HEY. come OUT. Don't hide behind your 'go lesbians!!' I can see you shaking hands with Columbus back there!!!!!!#Chakotay and Janeway are like the same age don't hide come out here and say to everyone's face that you think non-white men#should be stoned to death for daring to touch your blonde haired blue eyed princess.

i loved the write abt a reader w a small chest ! what abt a reader with like a bigger chest. like DD/E breasts ?
Thanks sm!!!
Sorry love bug, my requests are closed!
And honestly, I wrote from my perspective. I don’t have breasts like that, and I know I can’t do them justice. I wanted to write for women that have small, flat chests because I can relate to them and wanted to give them something just for them, and unapologetically in love with small breasts without feeling they have to compensate with something else to make up for a lack of tits. I was tired of people telling me my body isn’t good enough, and I want to focus on women that have non beauty standard features.
I don’t feel right writing for women with large chests because I don’t know that experience and can’t honor them the way someone who is living that experience might!
That’s all, lots of love ♥️

sorry to ramble in your inbox (feel free to ignore this ofc) but you are the only person on my dash being realistic about misogyny rn
I'm so annoyed by the posts like "men are being ignored by women and that's why they aren't supporting us". Because the feminist movement for over a decade has had a focus on supporting men, especially with mental health. And there's a whole month (this month!) that is focused around men's health (mostly physical but with some mental as well). And women are all over the internet encouraging men to do things like go to therapy. The list goes on.
and the fact that they know (or acknowledge) none of that shows how much posturing it all is.
"complete strangers made generalizations I didn't like on the internet so it's their fault I'm a misogynist" I am going to scream.
god i can’t stand how much the feminist movement centers men. I feel like honestly part of the problem is ppl don’t see women as a marginalized group even when women are clearly facing really brutal oppression, bc subconsciously they think that’s how it’s supposed to be.
And like , when they acknowledge women as oppressed, its never acknowledged as being done by men— there’s always some invisible boogeyman doing it: “the government” or “capitalism” or “society”. All these very vague gender neutral concepts.
The fact that it’s taboo to actually acknowledge women have an oppressor and that oppressor is MEN drives me insane. Among leftist groups it’s at its most hypocritical. They are so clearly able to understand oppression, and the dynamic between oppressed and oppressor…until it’s women. Then suddenly we’re equal apparently.
And that’s something men want, that’s why they push so hard for this narrative that “men’s issues are different but just as bad” (even tho that’s 100% fucking false lmao) because it means that they’re distanced from accountability, and women aren’t suffering anymore than them so really those bitches should just shut up about it.
It’s disgusting and intentional and I encourage any woman reading this to stop caring about “mens rights”. They already have rights.
It’s like, think about how offended ppl were when straight ppl requested their own month. Think about how blatantly racist it sounds when white ppl try to imply they’re oppressed for being white.
now unpack why you don’t feel that way with mennn

i almost feel inclined to not talk about twitter situations on here but holy shit this is just so sad. there's this situation going on related to fandom culture and it's just a perfect example of fandom racism towards japanese people despite western fandom supposedly being the "defenders" of japanese culture.
like god forbid a japanese person who is fluent in japanese type out a term in kanji. god forbid a japanese person refers to an ongoing movement in japan starting years ago starting by queer activists there that just so happen to not align to western fandom's echo chambers. god forbid a japanese person refer to a debate in japanese (japanese-speaking) communities that may not align how with an echo chamber in the west. god forbid a japanese person disagree how a non-japanese western person "reclaims" japanese term.
god forbid a japanese person who is queer acknowledge a term forming as a result of multiple bigotry intersecting which includes their oppression. god forbid a japanese person, and various of other japanese people that agree with them, don't agree with western people who are "western-explaining" the japanese term to them (linking an article from a english-speaking american about a japanese term to "debunk" a person fluent in japanese is quite a choice). god forbid there be japanese queer activists who disagree with how you as a english-speaking westerner interpret discussions or terms in japanese. god forbid japanese people have different experiences with a specific sub culture and/or term than you the english-speaking westerner. god forbid a conversation in japan doesn't center english-speaking westerners and their specific experiences.
suddenly these japanese people are "westernized" or "fake japanese". suddenly they have to prove their identity to the point it may risk them being doxxed (← sounds familiar to another situation that was taking place on tumblr relating to donations...). all because you as a english-speaking westerner disagree with japanese people on a japanese term and subculture. all because you as a westerner reduce japanese people to those who provide you entertainment instead of multifaceted people who have discussions, to the point you feel a sense of entitlement towards japanese culture. and you're telling me that english speaking people are one of the top "defenders" of japanese culture, that they "attempt to understand" the culture? you're telling me THIS is "escapism"?

I don't know how to articulate this but the "feminist" pushback against hairy or gender non conforming women, especially lesbians, in order to make cishet white feminine women feel more comfortable associating with the feminist label makes me think a lot of you aren't the feminists you think you are.
I get that we aren't appealing to men or making them like feminism or whatever but I don't want to spend my time trying to appeal to misogynists and corporations. I'm not trying to be approachable, I'm trying to exist in a world free of patriarchy. I'm trying to fix issues that can't be fixed with a cute infographic. I'm trying to live my life without being called a pick me or "not like other girls" when I speak about my struggles with fitting in with other women.
And yet, when I join feminist groups in real life, all they want to talk about is how we can get men to join us or how we can show that feminine women can be feminists too. And whilst men and feminine women can absolutely be feminist, there are so many more issues out there and there's such a lack of intersectionality in these groups too.
You're not unpacking beauty standards when you put down hairy women. You're not advocating for female solidarity when you shout down women talking about their feelings of exclusion. Rich women who hurt working class women for a paycheck, especially those in developing countries, aren't girlbosses.
I'm so sick of feeling like a weirdo in women's spaces and I just sort of had to vent.

you are white, wdym "patriarchy does nothing for poc men"? First of all "people of color men" is not a term, it'd be men of color, second of all, 😂 WHAT? Who do you think perpetuates gemdered violence in non white countries and spaces? Men of color do benefit from patriarchy. Not the same as white men in white countries but that is a delusional argument.
You are white is doing a lot of heavy lifting here. I am indeed (mostly, if you're ignorant) white passing, congrats, racist.
My mother is Norwegian/First Nations My father is Salvadoran/First nations.
Also I'm sowwy if my spelling isn't perfect, english isn't my first language, it's my third, but laugh it up.
(this is also racist btw, making fun of ESL speakers for being imperfect at a language when you probably don't even speak any of my languages is like, it's racist, it is literally just racism)
@velvetvexations
This is just like that time that white person tried to whitesplaine my culture to me in that server we're in LMAO

"i just headcanon them as friends," "it's not really canon," "it's more like unrequited love imho," "i don't see them as romantic"
okay but what if. some of us want stories where a Black female character gets romance. what if some of us want a Black woman to get to explore her sexuality (even if that's asexuality!) separate from trauma narratives. what if some of us want to see a Black woman be loved, be pleasured, be swept off her feet. what if some of us want a Black woman to be a fully realized love interest for another main character, without being relegated to the sidelines as a supportive friend or a mean lesbian or part of a rarepair. what if some of us want a Black woman to get to be a monsterfucker, a friend-to-lover, a slowburn, a happy ending.
what if some of us think that characters who look like us should get to be subjects, not just objects.
