merchant I was browsing the crk wiki at random and was super impressed at how well-researched mystic flour's entire page was. they wrote such an in-depth analysis on her personality and ended on a beautiful metaphor with how her relationship with dark cacao is: "like how a white cloud would contrast a black stone. ... But yeah, Burning Spice is the middle child of the Beasts so far and it really shows lol. Both on the wiki and with Devsisters themselves. Dude didn't even get a countdown while Mystic Flour and Shadow Milk did and then some. Shadow Milk gets an hour-long commentary video, a limited edition plushie, a billion different sprites, even Devsis' avatar on YouTube is Shadow Milk's stupid, ugly clown mug. What does Burning Spice get? Not even a decent wiki entry smh

He's based on Shiva, the Hindu god of destruction. There's so much that can be said with that. There's so much that can be said about his dynamic with Golden Cheese. How they compare and contrast. How GC herself mirrors aspects of Hindu mythology, just like he does, in tandem with him. If Lily really does think Skara would be better for Willow than Hunter, that's the equivalent of me thinking Skara would be better for Luz than Amity. It's based on the same principals of them having barely interacted throughout the show and how Skara's basically a background character with no definite personality.

And don't get me wrong, I like Skara. She is the best background character in the show to me and has a relatively adorable design. Plus, the fact that there's no clear personality to her, it makes it more fun to establish one in fan fiction. She's a sweet girl? Then make her the sweetest cinnamon roll ever. She seems to love looking up strategies? Then Show how she's an intelligent girl underestimated by her sweetness. There's good fun to be had with a character like her.

BUT--And this is an important distinction--liking the POSSIBILITY of a character is different than liking what the character really is. By the end of the day, Skara's nothing more than a background character with a handful of lines who hardly interacted with the main cast. Saying she'd be a better fit for Willow when we barely know anything about her is...ludicrous.

I have a feeling Lily only wants Willow to be paired up with a POC girl and no one else. She shipped her with Luz at first until Lumity became a thing and then she immediantly started shipping her with Skara because she was the only other black girl in the cast.

And then she calls shipping Hunter and Willow together racist because of course she does.

This is a bit off-topic but - Lily seems to have a weird obession with Skara specifically. She hyper-fixates on Skara a lot and in her TOH S2 round up video she replaced any mention of Hunter (the white boy who she complains about being white and said would be better if he was black) with her. Considering that Lily is known to fetishize black women and since she complains about Hunter being an "angsty white boy" and said on her tumblr that making him a black girl would fix him, and she fixates on a character who is just that...ya, is it really that bad faith to assume that Lily only likes Skara for being a black girl?

And it's so funny because in her white favortism video she listed Skara's '''''arc''''' as a reason to like her....an ''''arc'''' that happens off-screen. Ya, okay.

Why do so many people love and worship Dave? I personally see him as an obnoxious, self centered, asshole. Not to mention what a smart ass he tries to be throughout the story and shows off way too much.

favortive movies of 2023?

Killers of the Flower Moon--Easy. I think it was gorgeously made, super compelling, and insanely well-acted. Scorsese is honestly one of the last truly great auteurs who existed before the current box office hellscape, and you can see it on screen the entire time.

May December--Incredibly haunting, full of actors ACTING, captivating and repulsive at the same time. Charles Melton owns the movie, but it's so good all around.

Nimona--I thought this was fun and heartwarming, I loved the animation, I really enjoyed the allegory of it all, so fun.

Past Lives--Haunting in a different way, so emotionally impactful and quietly devastating, which is something I love.

Bottoms--Bring back comedy!!!! Make it like this!!!! I beg!!! I laughed my fucking ass off with this one, thank God for this movie.

Red, White, & Royal Blue--Easily the most delightful romcom of the year, it's comfort food, I enjoy it greatly.

Joy Ride--Actually comedies did kinda hit this year, because THIS was the funniest movie I watched all year, and I was literally wheezing in the theater. Yet it was also super affecting?

Sanctuary--Oops, a shockingly romantic movie about a dominatrix and a client who truly deserves to be PUNISHED. I laughed. I fawned. I was all "awww" when she told him she was ovulating. ROMANCE.

Faraway--A mature romcom about a lady finding herself separate from her kid and her shitty husband? Ummmm yes love it.

i thinm she was like my favorte, FAV mkp character villain like...ever. though i bought into the interpretation of her being a tragic villain cause it appealed to me for some reason and well i wont dive into this whole alt. backstory universe i made as a kiddo...X_X

but like i think i relaly fell in love with her design (i never could actually draw her from memory though XD) like holy shit. i was so into her and the whole species my ocs were originally all visible hybrids and i kept making these scenario with changling ocs X_X and don't get me started on the whole other mlp g4 future universe i made (in part to accept that it was coming to an end and that all things come to an end. i was like 11, okay?) some of my ocs still live rent free in this section for the cool guys in my head with black/grey/white color schemes... X_X

anyways later on my interest kinda went "eh" and when it became apparent she was a manipulative witch (that is amazing btw) most of my interest was kinda already dipping and that was kinda the final straw for her. (brony theorists who made the coolest fuckin theories i blame you for my semi-obsession with mlp when i was younger. AHHH)

I come to talk about something that's been buzzing in my mind about a topic needing to get debunked & spoken about, IS POC REPRESENTATION & HAIRSTYLES IN MEDIA.

GOD POC REP MATTERS IN MEDIA MATTERS ( STOP ACTING LIKE IT DOESNT)

As a black Person Growing Up Myself, It has been a beautiful journey road being a proud African American man coming out as genderqueer, I always Found Comfort & love In My own Skin & even my Hair of all textures, first time I saw the ever Strong lightning goddess storm in the xmen series on fox kids made a great impact in my life in the early days of the 80s & 90s along other favorite shows back then however,

POC representation in the Future of Anime & western animation even in today's media has been distorted Or even limited on how we as black people are drawn. from caricatures To Stereotypes, or to follow a certain trend to make a profit from viewers & fans be it from influencers & popular media or just to be made Fun Of & Mocked, do to make a profit out of our black origins & History.

Example black character such as Usopp One piece.

however there have been great anime that have made our features positive one is Sol Bianca and others

Pokemon, Michiko Hatchin, Naruto & Carole And Tuesday.

Just like In Real Life, We As black people come in so many textures and beautiful complexions as you see in all of animation, & black-owned magazines, such as essence and this one Called Jet in the 1920s through Now celebrating our great culture.

We As Blerds, Black Fans & Cosplayers should have good content in which we can express, & be uplifted by our skin Personality & meaning itself, No matter what background or environment to which we dress, or cosplay a character that's out of our skin tone.

we come so far to the point where we have great indie creators, cosplayers even compays from hair products blogs Manga & comic books.

I'm glad that we are coming into our own and doing better but there's still work to be done, on how Hollywood treats us, and until we see the next all-black piece of media that's when we make it

The Hair Style Topic, oh yes its no big surprise that hair controversy within media has sparked in outrage,or made in impact throughout, be it in and out of workplaces or in the entertainment industry, I do feel at times things could've been handled with care.

From what I've seen we have gotten 2 steps forward, 4 steps back situation of all the controversies coming from the killmonger haircut that's been sported, which is a limited stifled hairdo on how we are only presented and how our hair can be made into cause it's a following trend, Because this is not the only distinct hairsyle to have Iin animated media, A Half Cut Mop will Not do So Put some Soul Glo & Let It Grow.

NOW you may wonder why i decided to put this post of a Disney main character of afro Latina background, well Luz Noceda I feel has great growth coming out to her friends and chosen family, however doesn't change the fact they didn't do anything for her to show ethnic representation other than speak Spanish, Having to show that aggressive Spicy latina Archetype to a Degree, & have a black father mention in season 2, having given no origin story or closure.

throughout the show this showed has shown great lgbt representation even though at times flawed, in the relationship area. ( another topic for a video COmING SOON) however the owl house has fall flat on ethnic & hair representation, Gus is a great example of a character being sidelined a lot too.

for instance luz noceda has been stifled into nothing but that pokemon goh knockoff haircut,

even though there may have been open-minded viewers,who agree on luz hair being styled effectively, making many statements that hair shows so many emotions in animation, Down below

That all hair on poc characters is a good is how you pull it off, in the picture below there tons of great characters in many hairdos complementing them.

sometimes i wish luz character could have handled by poc staff, and have her own break out like the rest of the female characters, cause I kid you not, I met a lot of non-gender-conforming characters or people, who sport many hair designs. It infuriates me such a beautiful person Luz Batista find out the pilot that her character was somewhat sidelined due to the writing Problems & Shipping and I'm baffled how of course white staff members didn't do their research on Afro Latina her cause Luz is beautiful

Knowing other shows such as Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur Do an incredible job of Discussing on how black hair is powerful, magical & comes in many shapes and intricate designs if you know what your doing and I for one have a graceful mother who a beautician coming from her,

We are in an era where black people shouldn't exist or we arent amount to anything and I too had my fair share of my hair being talked about in a nasty way,

I really love water lilies! White and pink varieties are my favs.

I like a lot of aquatic plants in general. Duckweed and cattail/bulrushes are a couple that come to mind. Anything that grows in or around swamps and marshes.

If she cared about diversity and representation in The Owl House, you would think she would talk about Luz, Gus and Willow i.e THE MAIN CHARACTERS but no, the only character of colour she is ever focused on is Skara, a MINOR background character! So much so that Lily wanted Skara to take the place of characters like Amity and Hunter.

On side note: It's well known that Lily has a fetish for black women. She doesn't see them as people but as her own personal sex-objects.

Lily seems to have a weird hyper-fixation on Skara specifically. She constantly ships her with Willow (constantly saying "we could have had Skarlow" whenever she critizes Hunter) and she even replaces any mention of Hunter with Skara in the King's Tide segment of her TOH season 2 round up video.

Plus in her white favortism video she says that Hunter being black would increase his suppoused writting issues because he would be the third black character the show is suppousedly doing nothing with...and she shows a screen shot of Gus and Skara. Lily, Skara is a background character with little importance to the plot, and you want the show to focus it's limited time on her?

Oh, and Lily apperently once said that Skara should've gotten more screen time even though like I said she is a background character. Hell in her white favortism video she admitted that Skara is a background character yet 10 seconds earlier she complained about her not getting enough focus.

Is the reason that Lily is so fixated on Skara is because perhaps, she's a black girl? Given that Lily said that Hunter being black would make him "more interesting" and Lily also once said that a way to fix Hunter would be to make him a black girl (the anon didn't mention Hunter by name but they were clearly reffering to him) and since Skara is both of those things, I don't think it's uncharitable to assume that Lily only likes Skara because she's a black girl and that's it.

She wants Skara to replace Hunter because she didn't like the fact that a blonde white boy got added into the cast. Also, did you notice that both pairs that Lily primarily ships (Willuz and Skarlow) are both ships where Willow is paired up with a POC girl? Wanna bet that Lily only wants Willow to be paired up with a black girl and got mad when she was paired up with a white boy instead? Because I don't see it as an unlikely possibility.

I notice a lot.. especially in narusasu (wonder why that is..) artwork or writing that naruto will be written as white and a dumb jock. which is crazy because naruto is obviously Japanese! He has a Japanese name! He speaks Japanese! He has Japanese features! He is Japanese! Just because in a fictional world he has blonde hair and blue eyes doesnt mean he’s white, because those are the only white features he has. and I think the reason this happens is for Sasuke to be the trope of a small, subservient Asian man and it’s really weird. Hes not a dumb jock either, it hurts to see a complex character like naruto be boiled down to that :(

Exactly bestie, but them hearing that its not true to his character just as much as the hate those old sasunaru fans makes them go insane because apparently that protayl of him is "more canon and better than anything else". It's what I pointed out in my comic. You see the anon asks I get from them? They truly tell on themselves. My favortive thing about them is that they love playing dense and disgenuos whenever I show proof. Sailor moon is still Japanese despite her having blonde hair and blue eyed. Sakura isn't white either? Thinking of them or headcanoning as white kinda scares idk 😭 Headcanon all you want of course, but he's Japanese. dude, even characters that happen to be INSPIRED by white celebrities are still Japanese most of the time unless stated their a foreinger.

Ok so I know it's been a month and a half since I last wrote in this and I really have no excuse. I've been lazy. End of story. I want to write a lot so I don't forget it later.

For one, I've been playing a lot of awesome games. Life is Strange, Oxenfree & Danganronpa 2 (and other assorted random free indie games on steam). I started watching Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and it is a really great show. Really good. I legit can't pick a favorite part since they're all so good but probably 4?? It's much more lowkey than the others. Most of the villains become friends, plus Josuke & Okuyasu are cuties. Kristin and I have talked a lot because of JJBA, which is great!!

Started listening to Ricky Montgomery & Two Door Cinema Club's new album came out (it slaps :D). Satisfaction Guarenteed is my favorte track (and is also a great name for a stand).

And, most importantly, I'm in Australia! We stayed a week in Sydney at a three story air bnb at the Rocks. It was pretty close to the Sydney Opera House. Sydney is definitely pretty sweet, def a nice city, but you can't beat the outdoors.

Before I forget, here's a schedule of what we did:

Monday: arrived at the airport, walked around to the Opera house and ate at the underground opera restaurant. Went to the I.G.A for groceries.

Tuesday: took the ferry to the Taronga zoo. Had a delicious ham and tomato wrap. Had sandwiches for dinner. Bird show, giraffes, cassowarys, and more.

Wednesday: Bus tour and the Beautiful Bondi Beach. Souvenir.

Thursday: Seal life, pd started :( museum of austrlia (history and natural history). St Mary's tree across from Hyde park. We stopped by a four story high end mall. Very high end stuff, but there was a hobby store at the end of the fourth floor. I found a Trish and Narancia figure which is cool (ok i freaked out alot).

Friday: Museum of Contemporary Art (meh).

Saturday: Me n' youngest sister went to Macca's for another mud muffin. Then we looked around the shops. (near the visitors center) I got a nice bag for Cameron, I hope she likes it! It has a kangaroo on it. We also looked at some outdoor shops, I saw a cute purse with a cat on it. Then we went to see an opera at the opera house. It was Anne Bolyne, which was really really good. They had massive LCD screens with warped mirrors on the opposite sides, which gave nice atmosphere to all the different acts. When Anne was decapitated, she had an out of body experience. When the dancer's sword swung down, the other dancers ripped off her dress, revealing a red dress underneath. Plus all the LCD screens went white. I loved that moment. Unfortunately, I was too busy trying not to fall asleep to remember act 2.

Sunday: Went to church @ St. Patirck's. A beautiful church! I liked the passage printed on the bulletin about how hard it is to be a catholic sometimes. I saw some cool necklaces at the convenience store. I went with dad to the observatory and it was really interesting. We also went to some of the shops. Dad bought me a lovely necklace. It's got a spiral on one side and a bunch of colors on the other. Uncle V came today! Great to see him.

Monday: We left Sydney and took a train to Kotoomba (misspelled). I love travelling by train. I listened to music and started reading Warcross (great book!!!) We got to our new air bnb which is beautiful. I loved the sloped wooden ceilings. I want to live here and hang my posters on the slope, right above my bed.

And that lead to today, Tuesday. We had an amazing hike in the blue mountains. It is so beautiful, I was so happy. We also had a great lunch at the top. I absolutely loved the jewlery at the gift shop. I almost considered getting the two Ying and yang necklaces with dragons on them for Elizabeth and I. We then took the bus into town. It was funny because in a hotel courtyard up some steps, you can tell that's where teh rebel kids hung out, with their cigarettes and piercings. We stopped by a cool rock shop, and a neat purse shop.

During the hike, I was thinking of starting a jojo fic. I know I'm terrible at writing consistently. I still want to finish the JeanMarco fic, but I just don't care for sitting down and writing each day. Maybe I should set some time aside and do some short writing prompts.

I'm grateful I wrote down so much about this trip. To be honest, I had forgotten a lot. It's painful to read the parts about religion. I'm no longer Catholic, and it's just a cruel reminder. In some ways, when I was still religious, it was a simpler time.

I don't remember much about Warcross but I do remember giving it 2 starts when I finished and being highly disappointed with the ending.

I just seen someone who had the absolute worst take about people who favor Astarion. And then I seen that they admitted to not playing the game. So like I was so fucking annoyed for a VERY hot second. But calmed down when I realized that person knew absolutely nothing about the the lore of the characters and just exactly WHY so many people love Astarion. And at the end of the post, they brought Wyll up and called this whole thing "white favortism". If you knew anything about these characters... Astarion died at a very young age for an elf. Then for 200 years was forced to be a slave by the vampire that sired him. Forced to do thing she did not want to do. Then he got kidnapped and infected with a worm that would turn him into a monster again, but for the first time in 200 years he was about to stand under the sun again. He was free of his master's control. And you as the player character help him through whatever is going on in his pretty little head. And that either ends up with him turning into his master or he ends up breaking the cycle but not being able to step into the sun ever again. And it's just so incredibly heart breaking to see someone with such a bad fucking take like that. Besides. Aside from Shadowheart, Astarion is one of the first companion characters you ever encounter. Hell my first ever playthrough I never even encountered Wyll. It wasn't till my 3rd character that I even encountered him and 4th character to add him to the camp because I thought I couldn't add anyone else to my party/camp other than who I had in my currently full party. Like??? Man please do not give takes like that thinking you did something without even knowing the basics of the characters.
